Author and speaker Jordan Raynor joins Blake to discuss his new book, Five Mere Christians. Jordan shares how the book highlights five believers who, without being pastors or full-time missionaries, profoundly impacted the world through their work, showing how all vocations can be sacred when done for God's glory. He explains why traditional biographies often fall flat and how he aimed to create short, binge-worthy stories that inspire action. The conversation also touches on reframing secular work as sacred and gives listeners a preview of the powerful, faith-driven lives featured in the book. Through these stories, Jordan encourages listeners to find modern models of Christlike living and practical ways to reflect that in their own lives. In this episode, you'll be able to… Discover how ordinary work can be a powerful way to glorify God, as shown through the lives of "mere Christians." Hear practical tips for creating a less hurried, more present lifestyle, especially in parenting and daily routines. Find encouragement to follow modern examples of faithfulness that point directly to the life and love of Jesus. Jordan is the author of Five Mere Christian – available everywhere now! In this powerful episode of the Thrive Today podcast, host Natalie Born sits down with Jordan Loftis, founder and CEO of Story Chorus and author of "Unleash Your Authentic Voice." They explore the painful reality of betrayal in leadership and how to navigate it without becoming cynical or closed off. Through personal stories and biblical wisdom, they reveal how betrayal can become a catalyst for growth rather than a reason to build walls. This conversation offers practical insights for leaders who have experienced betrayal and are seeking to move forward with wisdom and an open heart. [00:01 - 05:17] The Universal Experience of Betrayal - Betrayal appears to be an unavoidable aspect of leadership across business and ministry - Leaders who integrate faith and business often experience similarly deep pain when betrayed - The depth of pain often correlates with the depth of investment in the relationship [05:18 - 10:37] Stories from the Trenches: Overcoming Betrayal - Investing in an employee's dreams only to be repaid with lies and exploitation - Despite the betrayal, they maintained integrity by refusing to launch a counter-offensive - The community supports and prays for their betrayers' blessing [10:38 - 15:06] The Danger of Self-Protection - Unaddressed betrayal can lead to building walls that not only keep others out but God as well - The stories we tell ourselves about betrayal often cause more harm than the event itself - Leaders often blame themselves with thoughts like "If I was better, this wouldn't have happened" [15:07 - 22:00] Guarding Your Heart Without Closing It - Betrayal hurts most when it comes from people you've invested in deeply - The goal shouldn't be to never feel pain again, but to continue fulfilling your purpose despite pain - Surrounding yourself with the right people during betrayal is crucial for healthy processing [22:01 - 27:53] Finding Redemption in Betrayal - God can use betrayal situations for spiritual formation when we surrender control - Betrayal often reveals what's truly in our hearts, like sediment in a cup when it's bumped - The experience can lead to wisdom without cynicism Key Quotes: "If our God could take the worst thing that has ever happened in human history, which is the murder of Jesus, his son... and win the greatest victory in the history of the universe, then what can he do with our situation?" - Jordan Loftis "You can't poison the well without poisoning all the water." - Jordan Loftis Connect with Jordan: Website: https://swift.storychorus.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jordanloftis Follow Thrive Today on Instagram (@thrivetodaywomen) and visit our website at Thrive Today. Jordan Fisher is currently starring in the upcoming production of "Sweeney Todd" on Broadway. Being drawn to art and performing from a young age, it's no surprise that he ended up in the industry. Apart from performing, the actor shares his love for gaming and what it's like to be a professional eSports athlete, including his day-to-day work in the gaming space. Jordan talks about what's different about this production of Sweeney this time and their take on the piece, which will look, feel and sound familiar but bigger and larger at the same time—the most realistic telling of the story, if you will. Jordan Fisher is an actor, singer, songwriter, producer, and gamer who has done numerous projects in the TV, movie, theatre, and gaming industry. He can be seen in Netflix's "Work It" and "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" sequel, The CW's "The Flash", and most recently, Netflix's "Hello, Goodbye, and Everything In Between" and HBO's "Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Underground Rock Experience". Apart from acting, he's an avid gamer and has commentated for the 2019 Fortnite World Cup. Jordan was also the first Black actor to portray the title character of Evan in "Dear Evan Hansen" and Mark in the Emmy-nominated "Rent: Live". He was also named a breakout star by MTV and People Magazine for Fox's Emmy-winning broadcast "Grease Live!" and won ABC's 25th season of Dancing with the Stars. He collaborated with Lin-Manuel Miranda wherein he performed a duet with him for Disney's "Moana" soundtrack and joined the cast of the Tony Award-winning musical, "Hamilton". Jordan is part of the upcoming production of "Sweeney Todd" on Broadway on March 26, 2023, and you can also catch him streaming on Twitch. In today's episode, Jordan joins us to talk about those leaders that can be viewed as abrasive, harsh, and maybe even bullies. He explains how he uses the ethos of the Navy Seals to complete the full picture of the workplace warrior, of which these types of people usually have an incomplete view. We examine the four types of warriors outlined in Jordan's book, some of the positions more likely to be taken as abrasive regardless of industry, and the importance of responding to your perceived experience in a healthy way. We also look at ways in which social media may be playing a part in fostering abrasiveness, like dehumanizing our interactions and lowering our tolerance for discomfort.  Jordan shares with us the importance of using the proper framework when communicating, especially when the interaction is not face-to-face, as well as an excellent example of giving negative feedback in a compassionate way. We discuss compassion vs sympathy, learning to speak the language of those you are leading, and how to evaluate the success of your interactions. Lastly, we talk about how important it is to have a way to destress, giving examples of useful apps or other technology and methods.      In this episode you will hear:    The four types of workplace warriors The role of social media in regards to abrasive, aggressive behavior Learning to communicate effectively Recommendations for mindfulness apps to destress and meditate Actionable tips for giving negative feedback   Jordan Goldrich is a Master Corporate Executive Coach, Certified Stakeholder Centered Coach, and Professional Certified Coach who partners with leaders and executives to achieve business results while developing their organizations, their reports, and their own leadership skills. About Guillaume Wiatr: He is a strategy consultant and leadership coach who guides CEOs and founders to align people and accelerate the adoption of innovation. He is the founder of MetaHelm which is a consulting firm focused on building strategic narratives for established companies. For Guillaume, traditional business story-telling is dead, innovation happens when you build a new narrative instead. He says people will pay for a story but they will die for narrative. After helping save a 20 million euro venture during the dot-com boom, Guillaume went on a mission to turn every company into a source of inspiration that few can resist. Since then he's been working with start-up founders as well as senior executives of companies like Alaska Airlines, The Gates Foundation, AIG, Loreal, Spencer-Stuart, GAP, Google, Microsoft, the US and the French Government. His commitment to education led him to become an instructor and a mentor to young entrepreneurs at the University of Washington, The School of Visual Concepts and Emlyon International Business School in France. Guillaume publishes daily insights in his newsletter, The Next Narrative, where you can find a canvassy design to get you started in your strategic narrative.    In this episode, Jordan and Guillaume discuss: Narrative as an interpretation of reality The sum of invention and adoption Internal and external narrative  Dimensions of a narrative  Key Takeaways A strategic narrative must have a viewpoint or an interpretation of reality. A company stands out more when they have a distinct perspective or an opinion.  Innovation is the sum of invention and adoption. It needs a story that will take people from one narrative to the next.  The internal narrative is your belief system, values, and the way you operate while external is how you are perceived and what impact you create. Both are essential in creating a cohesive strategic narrative.  Establish your origin story and opportunity story. Align people to your perspective - your values and culture, and remember to put less focus on what the product does and more on why people should get it.  “A story is something that happened in the past - it has a beginning, a middle and an end. A narrative is more future-oriented. It has a beginning, a middle, but no end…” —  Guillaume Waitr Get Guillaumi's Free E-Book: www.strategicnarrative.com   Get Guillaumi's Daily E-Mails: https://www.metahelm.com/the-next-narrative/   The Strategic Narrative Workshop - https://www.metahelm.com/workshop/   Get the complimentary guide: How To Select An Executive Coach at www.selectcoach.workplacewarrior.com    Get the Am I Abrasive Self Test at abrasive.workplacewarrior.com    Connect with Guillaume Wiatr:   Website: https://www.metahelm.com  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/guillaumewiatr/  Twitter:  https://twitter.com/GuillaumeWiatr  Connect with Jordan:  Website: www.workplacewarriorinc.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/jordangoldrich1 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jordan.goldrich Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jordangoldrich/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jgoldrich/

Health is not one size fits all, as much as the world of conventional medicine would like us to believe! And even more confusing is the fact that health studies are changing now by the day, so what can we believe is real? What is the BEST for our bodies, and our overall quality of health + life? In this episode, I speak with Jordan Trinagel about the future of functional medicine, and how this differs from conventional medicine by revolutionizing + personalizing the experience by giving you clarity for what YOU need. By asking the right questions + continuing to ask the right questions (Hello, Curious George!), functional medicine helps you get to the ROOT cause of your symptoms and not diagnose via the “pop a pill” quick fix system that keeps us sick + suffering as a collective in a broken healthcare system. About Jordan: Jordan Trinagel grew up in Rockland County NY and received her Bachelor's/ Masters of Science degree from Towson University. She has been a healthcare practitioner working in rehabs and hospitals since 2015. She is a registered/licensed Occupational Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist in the state of NY. Her professional career in healthcare and personal health journey led her to continuing research and self-education.  She struggled with acne, IBS, anxiety/ depression, psoriasis, fatigue, ADHD; and after seeing many specialists, trialing medications and going through various therapy she learned about alternative, functional healthcare methods for herself and her patients. She is now the founder of Health Reconditioned; an online health coaching and consulting business where her focus is on educating people about functional medicine and using simple at home lab tests to get the root cause of your symptoms to finally optimize your health! THE REAL QUESTION ISN'T HOW CAN WE TREAT YOUR SYMPTOMS; IT'S WHY ARE YOU HAVING THESE SYMPTOMS IN THE FIRST PLACE? Connect with Jordan:Website: www.healthreconditioned.comDM her on Instagram for a FREE consultation: @health_reconditionedConnect with Me:Join the Digitally Savvy Sisterhood: Make massive impact (and income!) online, click here for more juicy deets on how to join and see if it's a good fit for you! Instagram: @mozen_wellnessWebsite: https://jessicasilverman.vipmembervault.comFacebook Group: A.L.I.V.E. with Jessica Silverman - bit.ly/mozenwellnessSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/alivepodcast)Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/alivepodcast)

About Jordan: Jordan Marie Brings Three White Horses Daniel is a member of the Kul Wicasa (wee-chah-shah) Lakota and a citizen of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe. She is an advocate for Indian Country and all people. Jordan is the founder and organizer of Rising Hearts, an Indigenous led grassroots group designed to elevate awareness of Indigenous issues, and the intersectionality of all movements impacting brown, black and Indigenous communities. The group helps to uplift and center Indigenous voices and efforts, while building collaborative partnerships to accomplish equitable and just treatment of all people and the Earth through targeted organizing and advocacy. Currently, Jordan is using her running platform to help raise awareness of missing and murdered Indigenous relatives by dedicating the miles she runs to a missing or murdered Indigenous person, with the #RunningForJustice, and is now intersecting this effort and prayers for Black Lives Matter and calling an end to police brutality. Recently, she climbed the highest peak in the lower 48, carrying 22 names in prayer for missing and murdered Indigenious women (MMIW) for 22 miles. She is among many Indigenous people working to elevate this crisis and to bring justice to the families and victims. Jordan has launched Mitakuye Oyasin (Mee- tah-koo-yay Oy-yah-seen)(which means We Are All Related), a COVID19 relief program for Indigenous communities, to send masks to Indigenous relatives and communities in order to help protect and keep the communities safe. She is sponsored by Altra Team Elite and is an ambassador for Ultimate Direction. Questions asked in this episode: • What's been going on lately -you just wrapped up the Indigenous Peoples Day Virtual Race series and also recently hosted the Running for the Health of All Nations virtual 5k to raise money for COVID relief efforts for Indigenous people. • Your family has a deep history of running, how did your family influence your start in running? • Your passion in life is an activist and advocate for Native people, the earth, climate, and future generations--how did you become involved and find your voice to bring awareness to these areas? • “Running is my art form. Running is my way to give back. Running is how I offer what I have to give to something that I believe in.” - Jordan Marie Daniel (Popsugar article) Through these words running is much more powerful than the simple act of placing one foot in front of the other. How does running serve as your art form and provide greater meaning to the work you do? • November is Native American Heritage Month and in honor of the month one event your organization, Rising Hearts, is organizing is Indigenous Wellness Through Movement. What do you hope to shed light on through this event? • What advice would you give to others who are searching for their passion and finding something to commit to in life? • You refer to the work you do as heart work, this shares such a special connection to your mind/body/spirit and the work you’re doing. How does this connection help to ground you during emotionally heavy times? • What is your vision for the future in terms of running becoming a more inclusive space and community for all as well as a platform for advocacy? • What has been bringing you joy lately? • What does being a Strong Runner Chick mean to you? Jordan is feeling healthy as far as her Lyme disease goes — there’s still a long way to go — but she feels as if she’s reaching new milestones. A lot of that has been treatment plans from her doctor, but today we’re focusing on the spiritual side of it! In addition to that, she answers your questions about the Pleiadians, angels, ancestors, spirit guides, healing, and microdosing mushrooms. Jordan knows that she was meant to go deep with these experiences so she could share the experiences with you — you guys are ready for it. If Jordan’s story is completely new to you, be sure to check out the episodes linked below to get caught up! Thank you, Four Sigmatic, for sponsoring this episode! They are a brand of functional adaptogenic mushrooms, and no, they are not psychedelic. Tero, the founder of Four Sigmatic, is an expert in all things mushroom. Today we are diving deep once again with psychic medium MaryAnn DiMarco! We talk about mediumship — she does some channeling for Jordan here on the show — and psychic intuition. Jordan has so many questions for MaryAnn about what happens to our souls when we pass away, how we tap into our psychic nature, and how do we find ourselves to be intuitive and with more depth. MaryAnn’s friend Wayne (also a psychic medium) joined her, and he chimes in on the show and verifies some of what she picked up. This is a fun episode all around packed with wisdom, and you are going to love it. Melissa Wood radiates in the most beautiful way, online and IRL… like so deeply! She is the founder of the Melissa Wood Health Method, a series of precise, low-impact movements as part of an online subscription. They are simple and straightforward enough that you can follow along in your home as if Melissa is there guiding you along, but they’re also deceptively intense in the best way. And they WORK. Melissa has always believed that you don’t need high intensity to see results which has inspired Jordan to no end. Melissa talks candidly about her struggles with alcohol and eating disorders and how she overcame them, her relationship with her incredible husband Noah, life as a mom to her two littles, and how meditation is non-negotiable in her life. Jordan sees Melissa’s face shape shift into beautiful souls and past lives. The women have a deep connection and can’t believe this is their first time meeting in real life! They also talk food combining, living plant based, working out, growing a business, living a soul on fire lifestyle, what is on the horizon, living without alcohol, and more.
