Maddie was born and raised in Brevard County, Florida, about 30 minutes from Kennedy Space Center. From a young age Maddie remembers visiting the space center with her grandfather, who was a Radio Frequency Engineer for General Electric in the 1960s on the Saturn V program.  Though exposed to it from a young age, Maddie was not initially interested in aerospace. She attended Edgewood Jr/Sr High School in Merritt Island, Florida, where she developed a strong passion for the arts and was avid participant in theatre, choir, and drawing/painting. Though her passions were centralized around the arts, Maddie always had an affinity for math and science. After high school, she enrolled as a Civil Engineering student at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida as a means to merge her artistic creativity with her passion for STEM. Maddie's introduction into the aerospace industry came with her first internship in Civil Engineering, where she was hired as a Civil Engineering Intern at RS&H, a national architecture and engineering firm with a vast range of engineering contracts supporting many different industries. Maddie worked at RS&H's aerospace and defense office in Merritt Island, where she worked on a wide variety of projects across Kennedy Space Center, including designs supporting NASA's SLS Rocket. It was through this internship that Maddie discovered a deep passion for all things space. In her junior year of college, Maddie was hired as a Civil Engineering Intern once again, but this time working for United Launch Alliance's Engineering & Infrastructure team at Cape Canaveral Space Force Base. In this role, she worked on projects supporting the maintenance of facility infrastructure for Atlas and Delta rockets, while also supporting the development of new site infrastructure to support the new Vulcan rocket. Maddie adored working in the launch environment and was able to expand her launch site knowledge with a second United Launch Alliance internship at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California the following year. Similar to her previous internship, she supported the Engineering & Infrastructure team in development of new site infrastructure for the Vulcan Program. Maddie graduated from the University of South Florida in December of 2021 with her bachelor's in civil engineering, and in January of 2022 began work as a Structural Engineer for ULA's Engineering & Infrastructure team in Cape Canaveral. She spent two and a half years gaining valuable, hands-on experience in analysis and design engineering continuing to develop and maintain launch pads and integration facilities on both coasts in support of the Atlas, Delta, and Vulcan programs. In March of this year, Maddie decided to take her United Launch Alliance career in a new direction when she accepted a new role as a Strength Analyst Engineer here in Denver working exclusively on analysis for the future upgrades to the Vulcan rocket.  --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ryan-m-seely/support

So, yesterday's nerve ablation went well.  One driver in the Merritt Island area almost changed that!  Ablation done…Lori driving home…anesthesia so I can't.  We are in the left-hand turn lane at Courtney Parkway and 520…it is a TWO lane left turn and we are in the outside lane.  I look to my right…I'm in the passenger seat.  A bright red pick-up is sitting so close to us that I could NOT have opened my door if I wanted to.   That truck is in the straight only lane but NOT going on the green light, holding up traffic behind it.  I look behind us and there is plenty of room behind us…but NO!  This asshat wants to be where we are.  Mind you, there are vehicles to our left in the inside turn lane.  Said asshat has no turn signal and when the turn arrow changes to green, just turns and nearly clips our front end, as if we are invisible!  Yet visible enough to get next to us in the NO TURN lane.  I had to tell Lori to break as to let said asshat get by us with no collision.  Moral of story.  Leave earlier or wait your turn where you are supposed to and DON'T BE AN ASSHAT!  The Music Authority Podcast...listen, like, comment, download, share, repeat…heard daily on Podchaser, Deezer, Amazon Music, Audible, Listen Notes, Mixcloud, Player FM, Tune In, Podcast Addict, Cast Box, Radio Public, Pocket Cast, APPLE iTunes, and direct for the source distribution site: *Podcast - https://themusicauthority.transistor.fm/   AND the website! It's Tuesday, June 25th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Muslims killing Christians in Russia and Nigeria Islam-related deaths have dominated the news over the weekend.  Suspected Jihadists attacked Russian Orthodox Churches and synagogues in two cities in Southern Russia, 75 miles apart from one another, killing at least twenty, reports ABC News.  In addition, last week, Fulani Muslims stormed a village in Kajuru County, Nigeria with AK-47s. As they shouted “Allahu Akbar” or “Allah is Greater,” they shot up a group of Christians who were conducting a prayer meeting for the community, killing five, reports International Christian Concern. 1,300 Muslims died during pilgrimage to Mecca And, just within the last week, over 1,300 Muslims have died of excessive heat on their pilgrimage to Mecca where temperatures have soared as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit (50 degrees Celsius), according to the Associated Press.   One of the five pillars of Islam is the Hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage to Mecca. They hope it will help with forgiveness of their sins. But Ephesians 1:7 tells us that in Jesus “we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace.” Argentina's food inflation drops from 211% to 0.1% Argentina reports the first week without food inflation in thirty years, and only 0.1% in fifteen days.  That's not bad for a nation that was looking at 211% inflation or 4% per week back in 2023. Argentina's new conservative president, Javier Milei, is wrapping up a visit to Europe, in which he referred to the government of Spain bringing "poverty and death" to  the country.  And, he told an audience that he is defeating the socialists with "the largest fiscal adjustment in the history of Argentina." Trump is angry that Biden has targeted pro-lifers Speaking to the Faith and Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority conference at the Washington Hilton over the weekend, presidential hopeful Donald Trump promised he would take care of the pro-life activists facing prison time “on the first day.”   Listen to Trump tell the story of Paula Harlo. TRUMP:  “In the Republican Party, we will always support families, babies, life. Very important to the Republican Party. “By contrast, Joe Biden is weaponizing the Justice Department to viciously persecute pro-life activists and Americans of faith. Just last month, the Biden DOJ got Paula Harlow, a 75-year-old woman in poor health, sentenced to two years in prison for singing outside of a [abortion] clinic. Fearing she would die in prison, her husband pleaded with the judge for mercy and even asked to be thrown in prison with his wife. The judge responded by mocking their religion. “Paula is one of many peaceful pro-lifers whom Joe Biden has rounded up, sometimes with SWAT teams, and thrown them in jail. Many people are in jail over this. This is just crazy. We're gonna get that taken care of immediately, first day. “But let's call these brave Americans what they really are. It's persecuted Christians. That's what they are. They're persecuted.” Franklin Graham to Trump: Stop cussing During another of his speeches over the weekend, the former president announced having received a letter from evangelist Franklin Graham, encouraging him to avoid foul language in his speeches. Trump said the evangelist is wrong on the matter. Trump justified an occasional use of foul language for emphasis, but then told the audience he has been “working hard on it.”  Ephesians 4:29 is for all of us: “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.”  Supreme Court to examine case banning puberty blockers for minors The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to take up a case which challenges a Tennessee law banning artificial medical treatments for minors who want to change their God-given gender, reports CBS News. About half of the states have placed restrictions on such medical procedures. Biden's transgender plan blocked The flags are on the field on this one. Already, two U.S. district judges have blocked the Biden administration's plan to impose Title IX restrictions on public schools in America in an effort to transgender bathrooms and sports programs. So far, 26 states have joined seven lawsuits concerning the policy which is supposed to go into effect on August 1st. The Scriptures do speak to this moral issue. Deuteronomy 22:5 says, “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.” Will women be drafted? The U.S. Senate has approved a measure that would include women in the military draft, reports The Hill.com. The provision is not contained in the House version of the National Defense Authorization Act before Congress.  And a spokesperson for House Speaker Mike Johnson told Fox News Digital that he is opposed to the inclusion of women in the draft. Presently, according to Pew Research, Israel, Eritrea, Mali, Morocco, North Korea, Tunisia, Mozambique, Norway, and Sweden include women in their selective service program. 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers vs. 1,603 abortion mills Lifeway Research reports that 16% of Protestant churches support crisis pregnancy centers in the United States.  Baptist churches are three times more likely to provide financial support for the pro-life centers than Lutheran Churches. According to the data, 2,750 pro-life pregnancy centers provide $358 million of free services to women across the country each year, according to a Charlotte Lozier Institute report issued last December.  By contrast, as of 2020, there were 1,603 facilities conducting abortions in America.  Sadly, states are now spending over $200 million annually on abortion services, and the federal government is funding domestic abortion businesses to the tune of $390 million per year.  That's about the same amount of money donated each year by private charity to pro-life pregnancy centers. 21 Worldview listeners donated $4,140 And finally, toward our $84,000 final goal by 5:00pm central this Saturday, June 29, 21 Worldview listeners stepped up to the plate to help fund our 6-member team for another fiscal year. Our thanks to Kenyon in Merritt Island, Florida, Jamey in Macon, Georgia, Joshua in Bolivar, Missouri, Rob in Annandale, Virginia, and an anonymous donor from Helena, Montana – each of whom gave $25. Those 21 donors gave $4,140.  Ready for our new grand total? Drum roll please. (sound effect of drum roll) $58,005.16 (audience cheering) In order to hit our $84,000 goal, we still need to raise $25,994.84 by the end of the week. We need to find 12 people to pledge $100 per month for 12 months, 9 people to pledge $50 per month for 12 months, and 18 people to pledge $25/month for 12 months. Will you step up to the plate? It's hard to think of the White Sands region of New Mexico as confining. It covers thousands of square miles, and few people live there. In the late 1940s, though, the U.S. military was feeling hemmed in. It was launching rockets from White Sands. They could go high, but they couldn't go very far without flying over towns or cities — a possible danger to residents. So Congress passed a bill establishing the Joint Long-Range Proving Ground at Cape Canaveral, on the Atlantic coast of Florida. President Harry Truman signed it into law 75 years ago today. “The Cape,” as it's been known for most of those years, offered many advantages. The region had a small population, the climate wasn't too extreme, and there were thousands and thousands of miles of ocean to plop rockets into. Launches to orbit have benefited from its southern location — rockets get a “boost” from Earth's rotation. It took a year to clear away some of the scrub and build the early launch pads. The U.S. Army launched its first rocket there in July of 1950 — an American-built version of the German V-2 terror weapon. Since then, thousands of rockets have taken flight from the Cape and the facilities on nearby Merritt Island. They've sent satellites into orbit, astronauts to the Moon, and probes to all the planets of the solar system — and beyond. And today, the facilities are busier than ever — at the first American spaceport. Script by Damond Benningfield

Firearms Manufacturer Abandons Plans for Florida Facility

In June 2021, firearms maker Dark Storm Industries announced plans to relocate manufacturing from New York to Titusville, Florida. The company intended to build a new 25,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing plant in the Sunshine State, foreseeing a capital investment of approximately $3.2 million and 87 new jobs. However, Florida Today has reported that the company, which caters specifically to the AR platform modern sporting rifles, elected not to build a new facility and, as a result, will lose over $1 million in financial incentives. The report cited a 300% increase in the facility's construction costs and a “dramatic” rise in financing costs since the project's initiation, according to Dark Storm managing partner Edward Newman. In a letter to a local government economic program, Newman explained that these factors rendered the project “no longer economically viable.”Dark Storm planned to build the new plant on 9.8 acres that the company bought for $362,600 in 2021 at Spaceport Commerce Park. Dark Storm expected the facility to house manufacturing, warehousing and shipping operations and create 50 direct jobs with an average salary of $50,000. However, following higher construction costs, permit delays and increased interest rates on commercial loans, Dark Storm decided not to construct the new facility. Instead, the company opted to lease manufacturing space on nearby Merritt Island. The company will use the space until it finds a “suitable existing facility.”The county commission voted to repurchase the undeveloped area from Dark Storm for the original price and will now offer the land to other tenants. While Dark Storm got the money back spent on the land, it will still have to forfeit $1.08 million in economic incentives. The company will also lose a 10-year deal for a 100% break on county property taxes and a seven-year deal for a 70% break on city property taxes.Download and listen to the audio version below and click here to subscribe to the Today in Manufacturing podcast.

This week I had an amazing in-depth conversation with Cyncron. Born in Merritt Island, Florida, Cyncron, also known as Chandon Autumn, was immersed in the vibrant world of music from an early age. Growing up in the lively atmosphere of bars and music studios, she found herself captivated by the live performances of her mother's bands, sparking a deep-seated desire to dedicate her life to the pursuit of music. It all started when a disastrous failed potato crop led Jody Bogle's grandfather, Warren Bogle to try planting wine grapes on the acreage he purchased on Merritt Island. In 1968 he planted 10 acres of Petite Syrah and 10 acres of Chenin Blanc. He got the Chenin Blanc clippings from a guy named Skinny in Lodi! Today, Bogle has grown to become the Bogle Family Wine Collection, a brand that stretches worldwide, which includes several different labels, styles and price points of wine. We talk to Jody about how the unexpected death of her father led her to leave her job as an English teacher to come back home to Sacramento and take on a new role with the family business, how she and her two brothers have grown the business into the massive and respected brand it is today, and how family values, small lot wine making and sustainable growing practices are the fuel that still power Bogle's business today.  So grab a glass of one of Bogle's award winning wines and listen to the history of one of Sacramento's great business success stories. Acts of kindness are all around us. Through  bonus episodes, I am dedicating some time to acknowledge them. The first act is: Back Brevard Heroes. They are a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and appreciating our local first responders, our heroes, with an annual BBQ and other events. https://www.backbrevardheroes.com/The barbecue is May 1 at the Brevard Veterans Memorial Center in Merritt Island. It'll be from 11 to 3pm. And if they want to do a sponsorship they can reach at BackBrevardHeroes@gmail.comI had the pleasure of speaking with Sherri Centore, Kimberley Tucker and Tina Herman.  Here is some information about Back Brevard Heroes. Mission:    We stand behind those that serve our community in a selfless manner, as our local heroes fight every day to save our lives, protect us, heal us and take care of us. We serve your local Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMT, and Military. Our Vision:   To launch a successful non-profit including all local heroes. Establishing criteria and guidelines to enhance the growth of the organization and the community relationships. To create different divisions dedicated to the support of each individual profession to grow the community awareness. Our Values:   Demonstrate to all the Brevard Heroes in this county the true love and support they deserve in a simple form of a thank you.  Tax Exempt: Back Brevard Heroes is a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501 (c) 3 of the Internal Revenue Code.I asked Sherri, "Can you explain who is considered a first responder?"Sherri - "First responders are law enforcement, firefighters and EMTs. We also include dispatchers and military in our current effort. We work to make sure they feel special, appreciated and loved. Tina explains other outreach efforts Back Brevard Heroes provides our community:We put together gift baskets for firefighters. We've delivered them to 20 stations now in Brevard County. We're going to continue to do this as we get the money needed to  buy all the goods for the baskets. I wanted to  include some of the community and make it a team effort so  I reached out to a retirement community in Rockledge.  We had an arts and crafts day with some of the ladies and they helped  put the baskets together. They even painted a little fire truck for each one. They had a ball and it really made  them feel like part of the community.  When I delivered the baskets, I told the firefighters who had helped put these together. We connect with other nonprofits who have a similar mission. We work to promote their message too. Today I would like to mention,  Heroes On The Water:  https://heroesonthewater.org/chapters/space-coast-florida/Survive First: https://survivefirst.us/Misfit Warriors:  https://www.facebook.com/WarriorMisfits/Kimberley shared, " There are small ways a community can contribute other than a financial donation.  Our first responders love sweets! Full size candy bars, chips, candies and even homemade goods are always welcome. Please make sure it is wrapped. We are always looking for additional ways to support our local first responders. My Puppy Was Almost Leopard Food Hi Carole,   I found this today while moving some pictures around and trying to organize them better. That's me on the right with my friend Loren in 1998ish. This is the trip my wire fox terrier puppy almost became leopard food. Yeah, that was scary and stupid on my part! My mom, Loren, Coy the puppy, and myself were in Tampa for a horse show. I was trying to track down one of my horses to see how he was doing. We couldn't find him, but happened to pass Easy St. I had met you, Jamie, Aurora, and Jumanji earlier that year at an Earth Day celebration in Merritt Island and knew you guys as Wildlife on Easy St. I was bummed about not finding my horse and was 2 hours from home. Saw Easy St. and we ended up there at your place! I let my puppy out to potty before we left and didn't realize the fence with the overgrown brush was an enclosure. I thought it was a perimeter fence. My puppy was sniffing around and the next thing I know there's a leopard inches away checking her out! It scared me half to death! I snatched her up so fast she yelped! LOL   Anyway, Loren and I had the best time going through the sanctuary. My mom stayed back with the puppy for most of the tour. Your volunteers were so awesome they let us take turns, so my mom could enjoy the visit too! I remember at the end of the tour going into a house/gift shop where a rather hefty bobcat was lying atop a large night crate. I wish I could remember the name of that one. I have pictures somewhere. If I come across anymore pictures I'll send them.   BTW, when I sent my mom the link to the page you created she called me back in tears. She was so moved by it all. Thank you again for doing that for her.   Thanks, Ryane Postell   I wrote her back saying, “Thank you for this throwback Thursday.  My guess is that you guys were petting Esmerelda Serval.  A hefty bobcat in the house, would most likely have been Raindance.  Leopards in the parking lot?  Most likely Jade and Armani. Only the last two cats are still alive.   We have evolved a lot since then and realize that when people show pictures of themselves petting wild animals it just makes others go out and pay to do it too.  That's what drives almost all of the captive breeding and suffering, so we won't be posting this photo of you guys, but I appreciate that you took the time to send it and to remind me of your visit.”   Things I'm Thankful For   I am thankful that WWF finally spoke out in the press against tiger farming and suggested that all 8000 tigers be relocated from the farms to sanctuaries today. They have not been very helpful in all the years of working with the International Tiger Coalition because they don't want to be run out of China for their other projects.   I appreciate that Howie took the time to give a DC intern a tour today.  As he said, she has no influence and can't help us, but she was so enthusiastic when she heard we had visited her boss in DC that she asked him to find us before we left the building so she could come see us in person.   I really had a nice surprise yesterday when so many of my team wrote articles and sent photos for the July AdvoCat newsletter.  I usually have to write the whole thing myself, but am grateful they all took ownership of their departments and wrote great stories to share with our 70,000 email list.   Hi, I'm Carole Baskin and I've been writing my story since I was able to write, but when the media goes to share it, they only choose the parts that fit their idea of what will generate views.  If I'm going to share my story, it should be the whole story.  The titles are the dates things happened. If you have any interest in who I really am please start at the beginning of this playlist: http://savethecats.org/   I know there will be people who take things out of context and try to use them to validate their own misconception, but you have access to the whole story.  My hope is that others will recognize themselves in my words and have the strength to do what is right for themselves and our shared planet.     You can help feed the cats at no cost to you using Amazon Smile! Visit BigCatRescue.org/Amazon-smile   You can see photos, videos and more, updated daily at BigCatRescue.org   Check out our main channel at YouTube.com/BigCatRescue   Music (if any) from Epidemic Sound (http://www.epidemicsound.com) This video is for entertainment purposes only and is my opinion.  Closing graphic with permission from https://youtu.be/F_AtgWMfwrk

Upon returning back from Merritt Island, Airman Khan discusses the vital mission both the NASA and the United States Space Force share in upcoming space programs and spaceflight missions for this decade and beyond in great detail. He explains about the Artemis Program, the program focusing on sending humans back to the Moon for the first time since the 1970s, and how it is great for both space agencies to advocate for the mission through funding already achieved and partnerships already gained through private and commercial space companies, such as Space-X and Blue Origin. He concludes that his upcoming involvement with NASA's L'SPACE Academy will definitely help him understand the reasons for this human exploration mission of Jupiter, and strives to place more emphasis for similar space programs like this in his FY2022 airmanship budget. Preparedness for the next five decades in the space domain is a must for America and the rest of mankind, so effective budget protocols for funding of research is the best way to make all of this happen in the end. The Pilot is looking forward to returning back to Merritt Island for his next assignment on Mars Base 1 by April 2022, where he will investigate the living conditions on Mars for future human inhabitants, such as the type of vegetation to grow and the houses to construct and build.

In this special episode of The Greater Heritage podcast we sit down with Pastor Nathan Walter of The Well Ministry and discuss ways to be successful in ministry.Allow God to work and move. Stay humble. As Pastor Walter says, "If we let God move, we will see the things happen that we don't think happen anymore."Rely solely on the word of God and its power to drive ministry. God's word stands on its own, it is sufficient, it still works.Identify and be aware of what is going on outside your church/ministry as it pertains to your congregation/audience. You have to make sure everyone is on the same page theologically and don't assume everyone knows the Bible correctly.Christian maturity is a hallmark of being a successful minister. This always involves growth which at times can be hard. However, trials make us more able to relate to those we serve, and also strengthen our faith in God.About The Well MinistryBased in Merritt Island, Florida, The Well Ministry's vision is to encourage current believers, and those who are to come, to walk in the power and authority that has been given to them through Jesus's death, resurrection and gift of the Holy Spirit. They also want to create an environment that fosters the spiritual growth of the individual through the strengthening of the family of believers.  You can find and follow The Well Ministry on the web, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Spotify.-To discover more content like this ministry interview, subscribe to our email list.Intro and outro music provided by Five Minute Plan. On Episode 26 of Southern Live Gumbo, we discuss the finality of finally being retired and receiving the prized DD214 for the first time. We also discuss the disastrous events in Haiti, the new math my mother uses to calculate her birthdays and the outcome of the Sha'carri Richardson Olympics story. Our wellness topic this week is pain, specifically the public manifestation of it. Are we at a point where people care more about how it is publicized than they are about the actual cause of the affliction? Lastly we choose our petty moment of the week: Fireworks and the sadist who love them and pay respect to a new veteran business, Island City Music Recording Studio in Merritt Island, Florida...(Which i screwed up the name in the pod...hehe).As always i only ask for three things...peace, love and horns...please.
