Your environment shapes your mindset more than you realize. If you spend every day surrounded by complaints, excuses, and pessimism, that energy can start influencing your own thinking. In this episode of The Level Up Podcast, Paul Alex breaks down why aspiring entrepreneurs need to protect their vision from negative workplace environments and become intentional about what they consume. You do not have to argue with your coworkers. You do not have to convince anyone that your goals are possible.Sometimes, the strongest move is simply to step away from the noise and keep building. In this episode, you'll learn:• Why complacency and negativity can become contagious• How workplace gossip can drain your focus and ambition• Why your inputs should support the future you are trying to build• How quiet execution creates more progress than seeking validationThe truth is simple:Protect your environment.Guard your attention.Choose better inputs.Use your time around ideas and people that push you forward instead of pulling you backward. You do not need everyone to understand the vision. You need the discipline to keep executing it.Build in silence.Let the results speak.Your Network is your NETWORTH!Make sure to add me on all SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS:Instagram: https://jo.my/paulalex2024Facebook: https://jo.my/fbpaulalex2024YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGhDAD1JyGGzSQUPD9lc9HQLinkedIn: https://jo.my/inpaulalex2024Looking for a secondary source of income or want to become an entrepreneur? The greatest mysteries have a shadowy figure at the center—someone who sets things in motion and holds the key to how the story unfolds. In epidemiology, this central character is known as Patient Zero—the case at the heart of an outbreak. This hour, Radiolab digs up an episode we first produced in 2011 and hunts for Patient Zeroes from all over the map. We start with the story of perhaps the most iconic Patient Zero of all time: Typhoid Mary. Then, we dive into a molecular detective story to pinpoint the beginning of the AIDS, and we re-imagine the moment the virus that caused the global pandemic sprang to life. After that, we're left wondering if you can trace the spread of an idea the way you can trace the spread of a disease. In the end, we find ourselves faced with a choice between competing claims about the origin of the high five.  Signup for our newsletter!! .Step inside one of the most unique corners of American healthcare as Transmission Interrupted takes you behind the scenes of the National Quarantine Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine. In this episode, host Jill Morgan is joined by key members of the Nebraska team—Dr. Katie Willet, Morgan Shradar, and Angie Vasa—to explore how preparedness, partnership, and people form the backbone of the nation's only dedicated quarantine unit. Listeners will discover the origin story of this 20-bed unit, why it's different from both home quarantine and traditional hospital isolation, and how its creation was driven by real-world lessons from recent public health emergencies like the Ebola outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic. From the practical logistics of care (think twice-daily health checks, concierge-level support, and even laundry service) to the psychological challenges of isolation and the intricacies of national and global collaboration, this episode sheds light on the critical thinking and teamwork required to protect both individuals and the community during high-stakes contagious threats. Hear firsthand how the UNMC and Nebraska Medicine team adapts with each new pathogen, leans on the strength of their Omaha community, and continuously trains to stay a step ahead of the next big infectious risk—demonstrating “Nebraska nice” even in the toughest circumstances.Questions or comments for NETEC? As a result most of her business meetings went online and were then cancelled leaving her no reason to be in Australia and as borders closed every reason to get back to Vietnam as soon as possible. Flying on the same flight from Sydney as Niall and Adrie she found herself on the same problem at the Vietnamese border of being moment away from being sent back to Australia, a country she has no ties to. Before luckily being allowed in at midnight and sent to quarantine with a group of foreigners who'd never met before. There she paired up with Niall and Adrie, wanting to be with the only other female in the group.Listen to more details about her story and what life has been like in quarantine for the three new friends. -------------------Theme music composed by Lewis Wright.Main Cover Art designed by Niall Mackay and Le Nguyen.Episode art designed by Niall Mackay."Send me a message!"Book a free call with me here if you want to start your own podcast!Book your free tour of Saigon Podcast Studio!Support the show"Send me a message!"Book a free call with me here if you want to start your own podcast! This is a special episode, maybe mini-season, of Seven Million Bikes direct from quarantine in Saigon. This was recorded on a phone recorder and I don't have a laptop for edits so it's a live interview with my wife, Adrie Mackay.Adrie and I left Vietnam on March 9th for what was meant to be three weddings in three weeks on three continents; going to New Zealand, then the USA then back to Vietnam for the final wedding. Weighing up the risks of the coronavirus we decided to start out trip, but almost immediately those plans changed as things developed rapidly in the world. And continued to change daily, then hourly, then almost by the minute as we tried to get back to Vietnam as soon as we could before the borders closed and we were stranded in New Zealand. In hindsight we should have listened to those red flags and stayed in Vietnam.Adrie tells the story of how we got back into Vietnam, barely, and why we are in quarantine after the most anxiety inducing and stressful period of our lives together. We feel ridiculously lucky that we made it into Vietnam at literally the 11th hour before the border effectively shut at midnight to foreigners.******Adrie and the presenter of Seven Million Bikes, Niall have been married for nearly 7 years, living in Vietnam for 4 of those, calling this country home. They have a beautiful French Bulldog called Biscuit who is waiting for them to get out of quarantine at her best friends house. The Toolbox Murders (1978) and Toolbox Murders (2004) In this Twice Told Tales episode, we examine a film and its "remake," though few pairs could be more different. Some would argue that the 2004 film is a remake in name only. Even so, in addition to the name, the two share enough connections, both on screen and behind the scenes, to make for an interesting comparison. On one side is an unflinching exploitation film; on the other, a more modern story infused with supernatural elements—or is it? Both films are unmistakably products of their respective eras, reflecting the cultural anxieties, filmmaking styles, and audience expectations of their time. What they choose to show us, and what they feel compelled to say, reveals as much about the decades that produced them as the stories themselves. The most obvious connection between the two is their inventive use of tools as murder weapons. Whether those kills are clever, outrageous, or simply exploitative is for you to decide. The same goes for whether the 2004 film deserves to be called a true remake or is merely a title borrowed for recognition. But if both films succeed on their own terms as entertaining horror, perhaps that distinction matters less than we think. Films mentioned in this episode: The Blob (1958), Curse of Frankenstein (1957), Five Nights at Freddys (2023), The Fly (1958), The Fly (1986), Frankenstein (1931), Frankenstein (2025), Freddy vs Jason (2003), Friday the 13th (1980), The Funhouse (1981), Goodnight Mommy (2014), Goodnight Mommy (2020), The Grudge (2004), Halloween Kills (2021), Hostel (2005), Inside (2007), Ju-on: The Grudge (2002), Let Me In (2010), Let the Right One In (2008), Maniac (1980), Mother of Tears (2007), Mrs. 45 (1981), Nosferatu (1922), Nosferatu (1979), Poltergeist (1982), Psycho (1960), Psycho (1998), Quarantine (2008), [REC] (2007), The Ring (2002), Ringu (1998), The Thing (1982), The Thing from Another World (1951), Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2004), The Toolbox Murders (1978), Toolbox Murders (2004), Toolbox Murders 2: Coffin Baby (2013)

She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. How One Woman Turned Trauma, Survival, and Heartbreak Into a Story of Reinvention. Life rarely follows the script people imagine. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast social media like their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. For Angela Harger Thompson is our guest. What began as a promising life in Southern California became a journey marked by trauma, survival, adventure, heartbreak, and ultimately transformation. Her story now reaches audiences through a book, a documentary movie, social media, and appearances on Podcast and Radio platforms across the country. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and most major podcast platforms. #LawEnforcementTalk #Free #Podcast #Radio Today, Angela speaks openly about a devastating sexual assault that altered the course of her life and the extraordinary experiences that followed. Supporting articles about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin. Her story is one of resilience, truth-telling, and finding purpose after unimaginable pain. She Was Raped in Hollywood Before the sailboat adventures, before the documentary film, and before writing her memoir, Angela endured a traumatic experience that would leave lasting emotional scars. She says she was drugged and sexually assaulted by someone she knew. The show is inspiring audiences through the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, iHeartradio and and many Podcast platforms. Like millions of women across America, Angela found herself confronting the painful reality of sexual violence. According to national studies, millions of women in the United States have experienced sexual assault while intoxicated, drugged, or otherwise incapacitated. In many cases, perpetrators use alcohol or drugs to make victims vulnerable, confused, unable to resist, or unable to remember what happened. She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. "The hardest part wasn't just surviving it," Angela has explained. "It was learning how to live afterward." The emotional impact followed her for years. The betrayal, loss of trust, and trauma shaped many of the decisions that came next in her life. An Invitation That Changed Everything As she struggled to rebuild, a friend offered what seemed like an incredible opportunity. The episode is available across major platforms including their website, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, with highlights shared across their Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles. A sailboat voyage across the Pacific Ocean. It sounded like adventure. It sounded like freedom. It sounded like a chance to start over. Angela accepted. What she couldn't know was that the journey would soon become one of the most challenging experiences of her life. She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. Available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Youtube and most major Podcast networks. The Sailboat Trials at Sea In March 2020, Angela boarded a sailboat in Panama alongside five crew members and one beloved sea dog. The plan was simple: cross the Pacific Ocean and explore some of the world's most beautiful destinations. Then the world changed. Just one week into the voyage, news arrived through satellite communications. COVID-19 had become a global pandemic. Borders were closing. Governments were implementing restrictions. Ports were refusing entry. Entire nations were shutting down. Suddenly, the crew found themselves isolated in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with no clear destination and no certainty about what awaited them. She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. The Podcast is available for free on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast website, also on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, iHeartradio and most major podcast platforms. "It felt like the world disappeared overnight," Angela recalled. As the pandemic spread, tensions aboard the vessel increased. Relationships became strained. What had begun as a dream adventure gradually evolved into a test of endurance, trust, and survival. The relationship with her sailing companion deteriorated, creating additional emotional challenges while trapped thousands of miles from shore. The experience would later become the foundation for a documentary film. The Movie: Quarantine at Sea Angela eventually transformed her extraordinary experience into a documentary movie titled Quarantine at Sea. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast continues bringing listeners real conversations from the front lines of crime, policing, trauma, survival, and healing. The film follows the crew's journey as they navigate the uncertainty of a world suddenly consumed by fear and restrictions. Facing closed borders, changing government regulations, and limited options for safe harbor, the sailors were forced to make difficult decisions while isolated at sea. She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. The documentary resonated with audiences because it captured something universal. Everyone remembers where they were when the world shut down. Very few experienced it from the middle of the Pacific Ocean. "People think it's a sailing story," Angela said. "But it's really a story about uncertainty, resilience, and what happens when everything you thought was stable suddenly disappears." The complete interview is available as a Free Podcast on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, LinkedIn, and major podcast platforms. The Book: Worst Tits Ever Angela's story didn't end with the documentary. She expanded her experiences into a deeply personal memoir titled Worst Tits Ever. Released in 2026, the book chronicles her journey through trauma, heartbreak, faith, survival, loss, and personal reinvention. The memoir explores not only her experience stranded at sea during COVID-19 but also the emotional battles that shaped her long before stepping aboard the sailboat. Blending humor with vulnerability, the book offers readers an unfiltered look at how one woman confronted adversity and found strength in unexpected places. She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. "It isn't just about survival," she explained. "It's about learning who you are when everything familiar is stripped away." Hear her story on: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube Facebook Instagram The memoir is available in print, digital, and audiobook formats. Helping Others Tell Their Stories Following the success of her documentary and memoir, Angela discovered a new mission. Helping others tell their own stories. Through her Storytell Initiative Course, she teaches aspiring writers, speakers, and creators how to transform personal experiences into meaningful artistic works. Whether through books, documentaries, films, speaking engagements, or digital content, her goal is to help people find their voice. Listeners can hear the complete interview on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and other major Podcast, Radio, News, and Media platforms. "Everyone has a story," she says. "Many people just need help discovering how to tell it." Her work focuses on authenticity, healing, and connection. She believes stories have the power to change lives. Her own journey serves as proof. Life After Trauma Today, Angela lives in Southern California with her husband. She enjoys acting, studying improv, rollerblading, hiking, and exploring the California coast. Her life looks very different from the one she imagined years ago. Yet every chapter, including the painful ones, helped shape the person she became. From surviving sexual assault to navigating the uncertainty of the pandemic at sea, Angela's story demonstrates the remarkable resilience of the human spirit. She Was Raped in Hollywood. Then Sailboat Trials at Sea, the Book, and the Movie. It is a story that continues to inspire audiences through Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, LinkedIn, and other Podcast and social media platforms. Through her book, her movie, and her public speaking, she reminds others that even the most painful experiences do not have to define the future. Sometimes the most powerful stories emerge from the darkest storms. And sometimes surviving the storm becomes the story itself. REC (2007) found footage horror gets the Cutting Deep into Horror treatment as Henrique Couto & Rachael Redolfilock themselves inside one of the most terrifying Spanish horror movies ever made. Directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza, REC is a lean, relentless Spanish found footage zombie horror classic that follows a TV reporter and her cameraman into a Barcelona apartment building where a routine emergency call becomes a sealed-off nightmare. In this episode, Henrique and Rachael dig into why REC still feels so scary, eerie, immediate, and brutally effectivenearly two decades later. From the firehouse ride-along setup to the escalating quarantine, from the infected attacks to the unforgettable night-vision finale, this is a movie that understands exactly how to use shaky camera chaos without losing the audience.Inside this episode:Why REC works so well as found footage horror — and why the news crew setup makes the camera feel natural instead of forced. The apartment building as a horror trap — claustrophobic hallways, locked exits, frightened residents, and a quarantine that keeps tightening.Spanish zombie horror vs. American remake energy — including comparisons to Quarantine and why the original feels rawer and more dangerous. The Tristiana Medeiros reveal — how the movie shifts from outbreak horror into something more demonic, strange, and unforgettable. The final darkness — why the night-vision climax remains one of the most iconic endings in modern found footage horror.Henrique and Rachael's final thoughts on why REC is one of the strongest found footage films they've covered so far.REC was reportedly produced on a roughly $2.1 million budget and earned about $23 million worldwide, making it a major international success for Spanish horror and one of the defining found-footage genre entries of the 2000s.

From choosing who you'd quarantine with on a virus-stricken cruise to debating cringey old fashion trends and whether $2 million is worth six years in Antarctica, the conversations spiral into hilarious hypotheticals and personal truths. Add in questions about swapping homes with coworkers, finding shirts that actually fit tall bodies, and being called out on “street cred,” plus wild scenarios like shrinking to an ant or growing into a skyscraper, and it's a mix of random, revealing, and completely unfiltered opinions on how everyone would survive (or not) in some truly bizarre situations

Sarah and Susie are disturbed by the Hantavirus outbreak on the cruise, and we reminisce about our introduction to the virus thanks to Susie's (unofficial) work on the Gene Hackman investigation. Sarah learned about a collaboration between Prego pasta sauce (??) and Story Corps that will allow you to record family conversations to preserve oral traditions, but we think these people clearly do not know what most family's conversations are actually like. Sarah is working on the Amelia Earhart cold case, and some people now think she landed and made distress calls for days after the plane went missing. She also talks about the Should I Marry a Murderer documentary about a pathologist whose partner confesses to murder, and she faces adversity and mental health issues trying to do the right thing with the information.00:00 - From Pop Songs to WNBA Sports Knowledge06:06 - Floating Toilets & Rodent Poop on Cruises15:43 - Recording Family Dinners with Prego & Story Corps30:18 - Unraveling Amelia Earhart's Fate & Murder Mysteries40:35 - Dresser Drawers, Patriarchy, and Kentucky Derby History49:53 - Should Al Help Us Talk to Animals?
