Submission guidelines can be found at http://www.TallTaleTV.com ---- About Tall Tale TV ---- My name is Chris Herron, and I narrate audiobooks. In 2015, poor control of my diabetes left me legally blind for the better part of a year. The doctors predicted an 80% chance I would never see again, but I changed the way I was living and through sheer willpower beat the odds. During this time I couldn't read or write. Two things that I had been turning to for comfort since I was a small child. With the sheer amount of stress I was under, this was devastating. My wife took me by the arm, lead me into the local library, and read out titles of audiobooks to me. I chose the audiobook versions of books I had loved such as the Disc World series, Name of the Wind, Harry Potter, and more. They brought my favorite stories to life in ways I never thought possible and helped me through the darkest time of my life. Once my vision recovered, I maintained a love for audiobooks. I decided I would turn my focus from being a writer to becoming a narrator. I devised Tall Tale TV as a way to help out all the amazing authors in the writing communities I had come to love before my ordeal. I created Tall Tale TV to help aspiring authors by providing them with a promotional audiobook video. A way to showcase their skills with the written word. They say the strongest form of advertisement is word of mouth, so I provide a video to a platform of readers to help get people talking. Help them spread the word. Gewinnspiel Wer jetzt mitrechnet, will zwo, Marte. Der Gewinner steht also fest. Geld online verdienen? Gewinnspiel Jaro Ich danke dir! Also ja, oder? Ich wünsch dir was. Ganz viele Grüße, Sebastian. Gewinnspiel Sebastian Supercool, sache. Danke dir! Erkenntnisse in diesem Buch. Scarlet [00:13:00] Thomas. Bitte nimm an signifikant Objekts teil. Dann immer her damit. Schau einfach mal rein. Dies ist eine Markus Habermann Produktion. Bitte besuche mich auch nächste Woche wieder. Für eine weitere Folge von Panzerknacker Podcast.

She ended up with a dual QAS (Queensland Academy of Sport) scholarship for both basketball and volleyball. After high school, Selina was offered a very rare, Dual USA Division 1, five-year Scholarship at Oregon State University, for both basketball and volleyball, which she grabbed with both hands. In 2000, Selina represented Australia at the Olympic Games in Sydney in Indoor Volleyball. And in 2002 she graduated with a Bachelor of Business, as an honours student. But it wasn’t all roses. Her Olympic dream was destroyed the day before the opening ceremony when she sprained her ankle in their very last training session, and was told by doctors she wouldn’t play. But she did, with the help of the late guru, Peter Brock. Selina battled post Olympic depression. And during the 2011 Brisbane floods, she lost her home and everything in it. For the past 10 years Selina has created and founded 9 businesses, some on her own, some with partners. It has been a massive playground of exploration, learnings and new skill sets. Fast forward, and Selina’s passions and projects today lie in helping our youth build the skills to be more resilient, in which she runs her own Youth Leadership Program. Along with helping people leverage their knowledge online via websites and video courses. She is currently a co-director of a movement called BirthTime, educating women about birth and what is really going on in our maternity systems not only in Australia, but around the world. Selina enjoys the freedom her businesses give her to work from home with her 20 month old daughter, Sienna and soon to be baby #2.Contact Selina:Website: selinascoble.comLinkedIn: selinascobleFacebook: selinascobleGo to http://www.bit.ly/thenatandsarahshow to catch this week’s livestream!

With cannabis legalization just around the corner in Canada, we wanted to sneak this episode in before the country is swarmed with the madness of legislation and politics. In true YGTMAMA form, we wanted to discuss the topic of cannabis but pertaining to parenting, motherhood specifically. We see so much romanticizing of alcohol use in motherhood. The whole “Mommy-juice” and “Wine-O-Clock” phenomenon, but when it comes to cannabis there are still some pretty heavy stigmas and judgments associated. Today we are hopefully going to debunk some of the myths and de-stigmatize the issues around marijuana. We couldn't think of better guests to do that with than Devon Scoble and Irie Selkirk. Devon Scoble is a mom, editor, and cannabis enthusiast. A former food and lifestyle writer, she moved onto the cannabis beat after a series of health issues forced her to give up eating gluten. Devon is currently the content director at Hempster, a cannabis education site with a health and wellness focus, and at Natural Care, a cannabis prescription service for seniors. When she's not talking about how much she loves weed, she's probably out adventuring with her six-year-old son, her partner, and their dog. “There are different properties and different strains that can encourage different attributes...Start low and go slow.” ~Deven Scoble Irie is a mom of an eleven-year-old daughter, six-year-old son and seventeen-year-old stepdaughter. She is the co-founder of the Green Tent and a freelance cannabis consultant. She also has founded a Toronto-based Facebook group for like-minded Cannabis-using parents to share and connect free of judgment and stigma called CannaMama Collective. “Cannabis keeps patience and kindness in my heart.” ~ Irie Selkirk Devon sees herself as an agent for cultural change in terms of the cannabis. Both mamas entered into the cannabis world by using it for its medicinal properties and it evolved from there. They both realized that this was an industry that needed more in terms of educating the public and policy makers on it. Irie shares: “We would like to guide the conversation as to how women look at cannabis, make sure that everything is education based. And help women craft their relationship to cannabis as legalization rolls out.” As we jump into the topic of starting the conversation about cannabis with our kids, both mamas give us some tips. In Irie's home, cannabis has always been presented to her kids as medicine, this conversation got tougher when her eleven-year-old asked why her mom was using it when she wasn't sick. She explained to her daughter: “It's Mom's cup of tea”, basically anything can be solved by using it. Sometimes it's a check-in, a start-up or a wind-down in dealing with all the things that happen in our life. Her short answer is that we need to talk to our kids openly about cannabis and educate them that it is a very safe substance that is coming out of 100 years of prohibition with a lot of misinformation about it. Devon recommends starting the conversation with kids similar to having the sexual education talks. By explaining that cannabis is for adults, to be careful around it, and take the questions as they come. Then answer them matter-of-factly. Right now we are raising “cannabis-normalized generation”, who are learning to take it at face value. Devon grew up in a cannabis normalized household but her education was still very fear based. “Don't tell anyone or I will go to jail”, her father would threaten. He would caution her that it is safe, but still, they had to be careful about what they said. Now that we are moving into legalization there is a higher interest in lower dose strains, CBD strains and it's not about trying to get as high as possible with the smallest amount of marijuana now.
On the new episode of The Marketing Companion, Tom Webster and I open up a discussion on three touchy issues in the digital realm. YouTube's deplorable algorithm: The New York Times reported that evil people have been slipping violent cartoon knock-offs into the YouTube Kids channel. In this case, relying on an algorithm to vet children's programming is unacceptable. This is a problem that is not difficult to solve but it appears to us like greed and laziness is driving the wrong behaviors. We make a case that YouTube should be held to the same standard as traditional television networks. Is regulation in the cards? We say yes. Social sharing in decline -- Steve Rayson of Buzz Sumo published research that shows an apparent correlation between the amount of content that is published on a subject and the amount the content is shared. In other words, as a topic grows saturated with content, people become weary of the content and engage less. We discuss how Content Shock isn't a trend, it's a wave. One touchy implication for marketers: A very common strategy of "piling on" to popular content topics doesn't work. Outing people on social media -- We discuss the recent sexual harassment episodes involving Weinstein, Spacey and Scoble and how social media has become the engine for "outing." What are the implications for business, for marketing, for working with influencers? And what is the psychology behind accepting or rejecting these claims? Are we in a world where accusations become facts? We also introduce Nipsey: The new Marketing Companion smart speaker system. Let's just say it still has some development work ahead! This was one of the most entertaining and insightful sessions of the show. Robert & Shel have authored a number of books together already. And the last one is called "Fourth Transformation". I love reading the book - get it here on Amazon. And I was so excited to have both on the show. Yes, this episode is with two guests. I know you are going to love it. And I am sure you will hear new things about AR/VR and how this is going to change everything. Enjoy! More About Shel Israel Shel Israel anticipates how tech will impact business processes. Often with Scoble, he is a frequent keynoter, addressing how tech will next impact business and life. He has spent half his career as a tech business journalist at publications that include Forbes, BusinessWeek and FastCompany. His other half was as a tech marketing and communications consultant. He began at the legendary Regis McKenna, Inc., where his first start up was Sun Microsystems. Over the next 20 years he played strategic roles in more than 100 tech startup launches including the introduction of such enduring categories as desktop presentation (PowerPoint) and mapping (MapInfo), PC sound (Creative Labs) and relational databases (dBase 3Plus). SIPR, the agency he founded and ran for 17 years was purchased in 1994 by Ketchum PR where he served as senior vice president for consumer technology worldwide. He bought it back the following year, and then sold it to a team of employees in 2001, when he returned to his first love of business writing. Today on SMACTalk Brian and Daniel discuss the iPhone 8 and iPhone X launch that took place a few weeks back. The question of the day, is Apple iterating, innovating or just plain imitating. Tech thought leader Shelly Palmer, wrote this past week... Imitation is not innovation. The iPhone X (pronounced iPhone ten) is basically a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (which is basically a Samsung Galaxy S8 with a pen and an additional camera) which is basically a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (which is its own story). And the Note 7 came out a year ago. Not only is Apple unapologetic about its blatant imitation of Samsung. The company took the artistic liberty of claiming that the iPhone X’s features were “amazing,” “incredible,” and “new.” https://www.shellypalmer.com/2017/09/iphone-x-imitation-not-innovation/ Both Brian and Dan agree that Apple has built its legacy on simple to use, beautifully designed devices, but the question of whether or not this is still their differentiator has come into play. Is Apple still easier to use? Are their devices more beautiful than the competition? The bottom line is that it is hard to discern anymore whether or not Apple truly holds a competitive advantage. Daniel likens the current state of Apple to the Steve Ballmer led Microsoft that followed Bill Gates retirement as CEO of the company.A strong supply chain company that often creates a challenging environment for its suppliers, yet no matter what, they still claim a huge market share and yield massive profits keeping shareholders happy. The jury is still undecided, but more and more Apple Fans from Palmer to Scoble to both our hosts are now questioning whether Apple still has the magic or if they are running out of the sauce that made them the "innovative" company they are so well known for being today.

Robert Scoble and Shel Israel join the Burning Bridges podcast to talk about their new book, 'The Fourth Transformation: How Augmented Reality & Artificial Intelligence Will Change Everything.' Scoble and Israel are no strangers to predicting the future of tech, and in this episode we discuss where VR and Artificial Intelligence are headed, which companies are at the forefront of innovation, and the positive/negative impact it will have on society.
Today we discuss the business impact of augmented reality now and in the future with technology titan and "The Fourth Transformation" co-author Robert Scoble. Augmented Reality: Coming to a business near you “It’s clear that the world is going toward augmented reality (AR) or mixed reality,” says technology titan Robert Scoble. This means lots of challenges and opportunities for business as AR and artificial intelligence become a part of our daily lives. In this interview, Robert shares defining highlights from the three past tech transformations, and how they have impacted business and daily life. He says recent developments in AR have marked the beginning of “The Fourth Transformation.” What does this mean for business, and how can we be a part of it? Should we be? Through each transformation, some of the biggest companies have disappeared as innovative mavericks have taken their place. Staying educated and thinking ahead to your customers’ needs are the keys to surviving this transformation! Join us as we dive into surprising ways AR is already being used, and how forward-thinking companies are preparing themselves for the day when mixed reality experiences are expected. “It’s gonna come!” says Robert, “…you can wait, or you can get in now and do it at a comfortable pace…” Highlights from the interview: What were the first three tech transformations, and what has brought us into the fourth? [5:15] Does Apple have anything up its sleeve to compete with predominantly PC-based systems we're hearing about? [13:25] Which businesses are looking closely at leveraging AR, and who is already using it? [15:38] How do we define goals around responding to a customer need vs. having the latest, sexiest tech? [20:00] What new privacy, security and social issues may come with the rise of VR? [29:10] About our guest: As entrepreneur in residence at Upload VR , Scoble travels the world looking for what's happening on the bleeding edge of technology. From BCB... http://bestofbcb.org/wu-029-hannah-crichton/ Meet Hannah Crichton, a BHS Camp Siberia grad who plans to return to Novosibirsk, Russia, to film a documentary about the Russian orphans she worked with nine years ago. Hannah, who participated in Bainbridge Island's Camp Siberia program in the summer of 2007, graduated from Western in 2012 and moved to Los Angeles, where she is now a successful comedy producer. Her facebook page regularly features photos of her with such comedy greats as Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris, and she travels all over the country scouting for new comedians. But throughout the years she has stayed in touch with the orphans she met that summer in Camp Siberia. This September Hannah and fellow Camp Siberia veteran Kyle Scoble, who is now a filmmaker in Los Angeles, hope to return to Novosibirsk. Their plan is to produce a documentary following up on the lives of the campers they met so long ago, who are among the more than 800,000 registered orphans left homeless after the economic downturns following the fall of the Soviet Union. Many of those so-called orphans have living parents but were turned out into the streets for economic reasons; only the luckiest ended up in orphanages. But even then, when those children leave the orphanages at the age of 16 or 17, they enter the world without benefit of education or money. The results are sadly predictable: some 40% become involved in crime, 10% commit suicide, 33% remain unemployed, and 20% end up homeless. Only the rare teenager finds his or her way to university. Hannah and Kyle want to reconnect with their campers, and are using their producing and filmmaking talents to tell the stories of those who have survived. To learn more about this project -- and how you can help support the efforts of these enterprising Bainbridge Island youth -- listen to this podcast, and then visit their Indiegogo website. Robert Scoble is a Liaison officer for Rack Space, social media phenomenon, technology pundit with a huge following, a journalist who has done thousands of interviews and a man who “always tries to have the front row seat on technology.” Needless to say, I was very happy to have Scoble on Singularity 1 on 1. With Apple's Mountain Lion 10.8 OS X release coming soon, July 25th by most accounts, Craig and Sean begin with the idea of convergence. When will these operating systems become one common thread that connects us all through our devices? iCloud and iOS along with Android and their cloud have shown these services are coming. Transformation of the world around us by a persistent connection with the cloud and the devices around us. If we can plan for these future of "apps" that live across all these different formed devices we can become more prepared to utilize them for our businesses and personal needs. The Gillmor Gang — Danny Sullivan, Robert Scoble, Kevin Marks, and Steve Gillmor — covered the gamut between Google+ and well, Google+. The new social platform continues to delight and confound the early adopters in record numbers. @scobleizer remains optimistic that the search giant will roll out filtering features to cut down on the noise of squids, kittens, and well, Scoble comment farms. @dannysullivan would prefer Google unleash the hounds of celebrity and brands, surprised as he and we are that the Plus team was caught flatfooted by the viral adoption of the field trial, or whatever Danny calls it. When we (Danny and I) started complaining about the lack of iPad support and Robert about the perils of high speed Scoble flow via the iPhone, @kevinmarks pointed out the ANdroid support sucked for tablets in general. All in all, much to look forward to and little or no competition from Facebook for Google to worry about.
Happy Birthday, Channel 9!!! We are 7 years old today! Hard to believe... What a great 7 years it has been. THANK YOU, NINERS! In celebration, we bring you the latest episode of Checking In with Erik Meijer. Our very special guest is Eric Lippert. To Erik, thank you for some many years of great content. From your lecture series on functional programming, Expert to Expert series and now Checking In. You are a C9 titan and we salute you. Many of you probably know Eric Lippert from his exceptional blog. You've also met him on C9 before (in fact, Eric was the very first interview Channel 9 shot almost 7 years ago—I remember Lenn, Jeff, Bryn, Scoble, and myself huddled around the computer in my office watching the video with Eric. It was clear we were on to something...).But how much do you know about Eric? Where is he from? What attracted him to computers? When did he first start programming? What was the spark that lit the fire inside of him for writing code? How did he land at Microsoft? What projects has he worked on over the years? What's he working on these days?Compilers have evolved to meet the modern needs of developers, and Eric, one of the developers of the C# compiler, knows this firsthand. From Intellisense to refactoring, compilers do much more than take syntax and convert it into an optimized language that a target execution layer can understand. Currently, the C# compiler is written in C++ and it's architecture is becoming outdated (not because of C++ mind you...). Eric et al are rebuilding the C# compiler from the ground up and they are writing the compiler in C#. Why? Why not stick with C++? Will there be performance penalties to pay for going managed? We talk about all of this, of course...Erik has many questions for Eric. What will the answers be? Tune in.Enjoy, and thanks to Eric for spending time with Erik and Channel 9! Great conversation, as usual.Happy Birthday, Channel 9!!!

FTC Regulations - a whole lot of buzz out nothing? Is it to target the late night advertisers that promise results with no accountability? Is it punishing everyone for the sake of a few? Will it raise the reputation of the blogosphere? Are these regulations targeted at bloggers that aren't accustomed to traditional print regulations?Macworld and PC World don't disclose the sources? Were the products paid for out of pocket or provided by the manufacturer? Dave reviews products that he's paid for harder than those provided for review. Doyle recounts his days at Maxtor where they expected the review units back due to publication policy, but wished they hadn't had to deal with the returns. They end up losing money on the units. In Australia, several review units were shipped with no expectation of return.Ultimately these regulations will have no affect. Though the precedent in cases is that they'll go after the larger fish, first.Windows 7. Launch parties around? Microsoft is sending kits with the Ultimate version included. It's better than Windows Vista, and XP. Wait to make a purchase until it ships natively. This is a plumbing update to XP though Vista. Max OS X Snow Leopard is a plumbing update too, with little visible on the desktop. No PowerPC support in Snow Leopard. Did Leo Laporte call it a service pack? Snow Leopard has some small compatibility issues, nothing major. Dave had to install it twice. We've all left Microsoft Office for Apple's iWork suite. Dave is having trouble adjusting from Entourage. Windows 7 has no email client - get Windows Live to get the missing software (email, anti-virus, etc.). Microsoft Antivirus has spawned a new free antivirus industry. Windows XP SP 2 turned on the firewall by default, ending many type of infections. None of use run anti-virus on our Macs. Time Capsule/Machine is the great undoer.Google Wave. Flying blind. If your community isn't invited, it makes less sense. What is Google Wave. Is it profound? Scoble says it's a non event. Other say it's the best. Collaboration on a document - wiki with live comments? Interesting on an enterprise level? Doyle is afraid of the preview typing - afraid we'll see what he's really thinking. No one wants to. :)Encapsulating conversation is interesting to Dave. Concerned that everyone would have to live in the Google universe. It's brand new, will other software integrate with the APIs? Chicken egg problem? It just opened to 100,000 people. Bottom line? Jury is still out.Blogworld: Dave and Doyle are going, and are running a workshop. People will put you on Twitter or Linked in - they want to focus on what the C suite needs to know to get there and make it useful. Dave thinks BW is terrific, and can't wait to go. Michael isn't going, but his Twitter stream is. Doyle liked hanging with the leaders in the industry. Dave took his own Jones soda bottles last year (provided by Jones Soda, full disclosure :). Doyle drops an S bomb. If you're thinking about going, go, best show in 2008. Dave wasn't impressed with SXSW - he's old. Doyle and Michael haven' been. Dave's favorite show is CES and thinks you should still go to experience the back halls (which is hidden from most people.) They focus on the least expensive items, not the coolest, but the most innovative. We all watched the streams to find out what was going on. There's also the social side, the after parties and clubs. Apple is rumored to be attending.Show called at 25 minutes. Thanks for joining us! Thanks to the B-Side Lounge in Boulder, CO.

Show notes:Is it Spring already? Bernie was locked inside all morning, but he got a little sunshine in the afternoon and is sharing it with you. The Son is doing a musical, Scoble pointed me to an incident of concern on the internet, and BRUCE! Music in this episode: No Place for Happiness- JetVicious Walk With [...]
Not just any blogger, Scoble was blogging when you were in diapers whipper snapper. He popularized this medium of communication while at Microsoft, where he recently uhummm, resigned. Buns uncovers the true story when he intercepts the transcript of a call between Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer. Later, Buns falls asleep.
