I cannot wait for you to hear this today! Whitney Capps and the incredible ladies of Point of Grace joined me at a Fresh Grounded Faith event in Springfield, Missouri, and let me tell you, there was something extra special about this day. Maybe it was because Whitney brought such raw honesty while in the middle of cancer treatments. Or maybe it was the sweet friendship and humility that Point of Grace radiated from the stage. Or maybe it was because someone in the audience tried to set KC up with her cousin, Brenda.
Send us a textEver had a child born in an elevator? Jeremy Greene has, and it's just one of the fascinating stories he shares on this episode of the Quarterback Dadcast. As a father of two young children and the co-founder of Feather, a relationship-focused productivity platform, Jeremy brings a refreshing perspective on balancing entrepreneurship with present parenting. Growing up in a family where his grandfather and father built a successful residential construction business, Jeremy absorbed powerful values that now shape his approach to parenting. "Family is everything at the center," he explains, describing how this foundation has only strengthened since meeting his wife Christina, whose West Indian culture similarly prioritizes family bonds. The conversation takes a dramatic turn when Jeremy recounts his son Cameron's birth – a four-hour labor that culminated with delivery in a hospital elevator with the help of a doctor who happened to be nearby. This story of unexpected challenge mirrors Jeremy's entrepreneurial journey, which began when he recognized the need for better relationship management tools while sending Father's Day messages to fellow dads in his contact list. What makes this episode particularly valuable is Jeremy's honesty about his parenting struggles. He openly discusses his efforts to be more present despite the demands of building a company, sharing practical wisdom like taking ten seconds before entering the home to reset his energy. His three-part advice for fellow fathers – energy management, partner alignment, and giving yourself grace – offers simple yet powerful practices for anyone navigating the complex journey of parenthood.Whether you're an entrepreneur balancing work demands with family life or simply a father looking for inspiration, Jeremy's blend of vulnerability, practical wisdom, and unwavering commitment to family values will leave you with actionable insights for your own parenting journey. Listen now and discover how you can strengthen the quarterback position in your own family huddle. Please don't forget to leave us a review wherever you consume your podcasts! Researchers at Harvard University have used participants from a decades-old study of baby teeth to link those who lived near Coldwater Creek in north St. Louis County to increased cancer risks. The study offers the latest evidence for what residents have insisted for decades: that exposure to certain sites has made people sick.

Why authenticity will outsell virality in tomorrow's marketingHello, star lovelies! Welcome to the newly-titled Strategic Oracle podcast! Thank you for all the positive feedback about the new title and format! We're looking forward to putting out some exciting episodes in the next few weeks. Stay tuned!Today, we dive deep into the future of marketing. We'll explore emerging trends, how authenticity is reshaping visibility, why values-driven strategies are taking center stage, and how astrological influences are shifting the way businesses connect and grow.Whether you're a visionary entrepreneur, creative leader, or service provider, you'll find actionable strategies to elevate your presence and align your business with true success.Key TakeawaysRedefining Visibility in Modern MarketingShift from performative, high-volume content to genuine, vibrational impact.Authenticity is now your strongest marketing lever—people instantly sense what's real versus what's forced. It's not about being everywhere; it's about being unmistakably you and resonating with your audience. Why Traditional Tactics Are Breaking DownOverused strategies like manipulative urgency, scarcity, and excessive content creation are exhausting audiences and losing effectiveness. The focus has moved from follower counts and viral hopes to meaningful engagement and frequency matching. The new marketing approach is magnetizing people through truth, not through polished perfection.Astrology's Role in Shaping Modern MarketingUranus in Gemini (2025-2033) ushers in tech disruption and rapid change in communication, messaging, and digital presence.Upcoming celestial shifts (Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune in Aries, Jupiter in Cancer) reinforce authenticity, emotional resonance, thought leadership, and decentralization of power toward individual creators. These influences invite you to align your marketing with your values and personal truth for sustainable growth. Two Memorable Quotes“You're not here to be visible, you're here to be vibrationally unmistakable.”“It's not about attention anymore—it's about alignment, inviting your people back to themselves through your truth.”Answers to 3 Key Questions1. Why are traditional marketing tactics like urgency and volume losing impact? (3:11)Old techniques such as urgency, aggressive CTAs, or constant posting are becoming ineffective because audiences crave genuine connection and transparency. As Kim shares, “People are exhausted. They don't want to be chased, they want to feel something.” 2. How are astrology and cosmic trends affecting marketing strategies? (5:47 - 9:09)With Uranus moving into Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, there's a clear shift towards rapid tech evolution, communication breakthroughs, and decentralized power. This encourages brands to focus on their own frequency, values, and truth to magnetize the right clients. 3. What should businesses focus on for sustainable success in this new era? (23:27-25:08)Prioritize integrity, personalized service, and customer-centric experiences. Building deep relationships, focusing on value creation, and remaining adaptive through authenticity and resonance will set you apart in a saturated market. If you found this episode inspiring, don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review The Strategic Oracle on your favorite podcast platform. On Wednesday a new study by Harvard researchers unveiled new evidence that people who lived near Coldwater Creek as children have a higher than normal risk of developing cancer later in life. Researchers used donated baby teeth from 4,209 participants of the St. Louis Baby Tooth Survey (1958-1970) to assess exposure — and scientists, using the results of self-reported cancer diagnoses, found that incidences of cancer increased in people who lived closer to the creek. The study's lead author, Marc Weisskopf, from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, joins Elaine Cha and STLPR health reporter Sarah Fentem to discuss the new findings, and what they tell us about St. Louis' nuclear past, present and future.
Australia's newest cancer screening program began a fortnight ago. It's looking to detect our nation's deadliest cancer – lung cancer.

We've been told cancer is genetic… or just bad luck. But what if that's not the whole story? In this deeply personal and eye-opening episode, I share the journey of my mom—a nurse, a night-shift worker, and a fighter who passed away just 7 months after her pancreatic and liver cancer diagnosis. For well over a decade, she was told to "watch" elevated liver enzymes while living in a circadian storm of artificial light, disrupted sleep, and minimal sun exposure. Her story—combined with the latest research—is a powerful case study for rethinking cancer as a metabolic disease rooted in mitochondrial dysfunction, circadian disruption, and environmental chaos. Inside this episode: Why blue light and lack of infrared may be more dangerous than we think How 90% of melatonin is made inside your cells—and why that matters The truth about seed oils, vitamin D, and sun exposure The lifestyle “storm” that quietly builds cancer risk What you can do NOW to reset your light, rhythm, and repair systems

In this episode, Therese Markow and Dr. Peter Liang discuss the rise in colorectal cancer among younger people, those below the age of 50. While colorectal cancer is a slow-growing cancer, it is still the third most common cancer for both men and women, and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Due to the trend of decreasing age in colorectal cancer patients, screening guidelines have been lowered to 45, but can be done earlier as needed, based on risk factors. Dr. Liang emphasizes the importance of screening, diet, exercise, and awareness of family history in preventing and detecting colorectal cancer early. Key Takeaways: Colorectal cancer is the third most common cause of cancer in both men and women. It is the second leading cause of cancer death behind lung cancer. Early-onset colorectal cancer is traditionally defined as occurring in people under age 50. However, there is a rise in people in their 40s, though some (though they are a minority) are in their 20s or 30s. Colorectal cancer is unique due to the number of different tests available for screening for prevention. Colorectal cancer is a slow-growing cancer. A single polyp can sometimes take 10-20 years to develop into cancer. There is no evidence correlating constipation with colorectal cancer. If people want to do juices or fasts or colonics, that is fine, but there is no medical need to do it. If you have symptoms that are concerning, tell your doctor. Sometimes you do need to advocate for yourself to get additional testing. "Any test that is not a colonoscopy and is abnormal does need to be followed by a colonoscopy. How we prevent Colorectal cancer is by going in with the colonoscopy, removing polyps (which can turn into cancer), or by finding the cancer early, so that your prognosis is much better." — Dr. Peter Liang Connect with Dr. Peter Liang: Professional Bio: https://med.nyu.edu/faculty/peter-s-liang Website: https://med.nyu.edu/research/liang-lab/ Connect with Therese: Website: www.criticallyspeaking.net Threads: @critically_speaking Email: theresemarkow@criticallyspeaking.net Audio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. "You might not have been born for this, but you almost died for it." When Gina Jacobson's husband spoke those words, he captured the profound transformation that turned a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis into a mission. Given just one to two years to live, Gina didn't just survive—she discovered why work matters so deeply when everything else falls apart. Now, as Program Director for Working with Cancer, she's tackling an uncomfortable truth: there's a massive gap between what well-meaning colleagues want to do and what actually helps. When people don't copy you on emails to "spare" you, when they assume you can't handle meetings, when they reduce you to your diagnosis—the isolation can be as devastating as the disease itself. In this episode of Inspiring Women with Laurie McGraw, Gina also speaks about: Why "Can I work?" is the second question cancer patients ask after "Will I live?" How manager training can build organizational empathy that extends far beyond cancer it means when 80% of Americans choose to work through cancer treatment Why creating confidence before diagnosis changes everything How simple accommodations can preserve identity during treatment What happens when your biggest pitch becomes helping others through their darkest hour Chapters 02:14 - From Potato Cravings to Stage 4 Diagnosis 03:43 - The Gap Between Intentions and Impact 05:20 - What Organizations Really Need to Do 07:39 - The Workforce Cancer Crisis 08:59 - "You Almost Died for This" 10:37 - Creating Confidence Before Crisis Guest & Host Links Connect with Laurie McGraw on LinkedIn Connect with Gina Jacobson on LinkedIn Connect with Inspiring Women Browse Episodes | LinkedIn | Instagram | Apple | Spotify

BUFFALO, NY — July 15, 2025 — A new #research paper was #published in Aging (Aging-US) Volume 17, Issue 6, on June 5, 2025, titled “Senescence caused by telomerase inactivation in myeloid, mesenchymal, and endothelial cells has distinct effects on cancer progression.” In this study, first author Joseph Rupert, along with corresponding author Mikhail G. Kolonin and colleagues from The Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases, McGovern Medical School, at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston, investigated how aging-related changes in different cell types affect cancer progression. By turning off telomerase in specific cell populations in mice, the researchers discovered that cell aging, or senescence, can slow primary tumor growth but also trigger unexpected effects. This work sheds light on the complex relationship between aging cells and cancer and may help guide future anti-cancer strategies. The team used genetically modified mice to deactivate telomerase, the enzyme that maintains chromosome ends, specifically in immune, connective tissue, and blood vessel cells. This caused these cells to enter a state of senescence, where they stop dividing and release inflammatory signals. The researchers then implanted breast, prostate, and pancreatic cancer cells into the mice and tracked how tumors developed. They found that when telomerase was inactivated in immune cells or connective tissue cells, tumors grew more slowly. However, these tumors showed signs of increased tissue damage and potential aggressiveness. Interestingly, when telomerase was turned off in endothelial cells, which cover blood vessels, tumors shrank and became poorly supplied with blood, leading to oxygen deprivation. In the case of pancreatic cancer cells, this low-oxygen environment made them more likely to spread to the liver, highlighting a potential risk of targeting these cells. “[…] this study shows that senescence and metabolic dysfunction resulting from telomerase inactivation in distinct cells in the tumor microenvironment have different effects on tumor growth and metastasizing of carcinomas.” This research provides important insights into how aging cells within the tumor microenvironment (TME) influence cancer behavior. While senescence in certain cell types can help suppress tumor growth, it may also create conditions that favor cancer metastasis. These findings highlight the need to consider cell type-specific effects when developing therapies that target senescent cells. By mapping how different cell populations contribute to cancer progression in aging tissues, this study opens the door for more precise approaches to prevent both tumor growth and spread. It's VOC for 7 hours, 20 minutes, and enters Taurus on Fri. July 18 (12:58 PM PDT). [12:48] On Fri., July 18 (6:37 AM PDT), Mercury retrograde sextiles Venus at 15°34' Leo-Gemini. This aspect invites us to revisit conversations or creative ideas we previously put on hold. When Inside Edition reporter, Alison Hall, was assigned to cover Olivia Munn's breast cancer story, she agreed to use the same Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool that Munn used – and to do it onscreen. Not only was this part of her research for the story, but it would also help raise awareness. What she did not expect was that her risk score ultimately would lead to her own breast cancer diagnosis at the age of 32. Alison bravely shared the news of her diagnosis on national television and has since been transparent in documenting her thoughts and feelings along the way in hopes to help other women feel less alone. We are so excited to have her here today to share her story with all of you.

Welcome to the sign of the sacred protector, the nurturer, the emotional powerhouse—Cancer Season is here. In this episode, we wade deep into the tidal waters of the zodiac's moon-ruled empath. Cancer is often misunderstood as soft or overly sensitive, but don't be fooled—this sign contains multitudes: maternal magic, emotional resilience, and a memory sharp enough to cut through bone.We explore:
State Representative Trisha Byrnes joins the show to lay out the harsh reality behind Missouri's long battle to get federal compensation for radiation-linked cancers from Coldwater Creek and Weldon Spring. Byrnes, who personally knows the pain as a mother of a cancer survivor, details how officials ignored cancer clusters for years and how the recently passed RECA fund barely scratches the surface—covering only certain ZIP codes and 21 cancers. She warns survivors and families that compensation is capped and legal options are limited. Byrnes announces a regional town hall on August 9 to help people understand eligibility and paperwork. This is about holding the government accountable for poisoning communities and finally getting some justice.
