Methylene Blue, GABA, and What Your Mitochondria Actually Need In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Scott Sherr to unpack two of the most talked about tools in metabolic and brain health: methylene blue and GABA. If you're dealing with supplement fatigue, burnout recovery, post-surgical healing, thyroid issues, or perimenopausal symptoms that no one seems to have answers for, this conversation is the reset you've been looking for. We start with methylene blue and why it's gaining attention, what it actually does at the cellular level, and how it supports energy, detox, and overall resilience. Dr. Sherr breaks down how to use it safely, what to look for in a quality product, and how to avoid common mistakes. Then we shift into nervous system support, specifically GABA, and how it influences anxiety, sleep, and focus. Dr. Sherr shares his approach to calming down the stress response and why supporting both energy and relaxation is essential for long-term health. We cover how these two tools can impact everything from mood and metabolism to brain clarity and hormone balance. If you've been trying to piece together a supplement plan that actually works for your body, and your life, this episode is designed to help you simplify and move forward with clarity. In this episode, I explain cortisol and science-based protocols for properly setting your cortisol rhythm, which can significantly increase your daytime energy, focus, mood, and stress resilience, while also improving your sleep quality. Most people mistakenly think cortisol is bad, and many assume their levels are too high, when in fact many health and performance challenges simply stem from a disrupted cortisol rhythm. Getting your cortisol rhythm right can be transformative for your health and performance. I outline behavioral, nutritional, and supplement-based strategies to raise or lower your cortisol levels at the appropriate times of day and night. I also provide specific protocols for overcoming burnout. If you're dealing with stress, low energy, hormone or sleep challenges—or simply want to optimize these for the sake of your physical and mental health and performance—this episode offers science-backed protocols to help. This week, Mars enters the diplomatic sign of Libra and mixes it up with Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. The Aquarius Full Moon calls for a review of social alliances and Leo New Moon goals. And in the spirit of this very Mars-oriented week, a listener question about the Mars return. Plus: Powering through, underdogs, and cats that want what they want! Read a full transcript of this episode. Have a question you'd like answered on the show? Email April or leave it here! Subscribe to April's mailing list and get a free lunar workbook at each New Moon! Love the show? Make a donation! Timestamps [1:21] Mars enters Libra (Wed. Aug. 6, 4:23 PM PDT, through Sep. 22, 2025), which is not exactly its favorite sign. The themes of Mars in Libra are about balancing action with ideals and making sure that what you do reflects what you believe, especially when it comes to fairness, justice, or the people that you care about. [3:38] Mars trines Uranus (Fri. Aug. 8, 11:45 AM PDT) at 1º07' Libra-Gemini. This combination can spark breakthroughs, but also impulsiveness and recklessness. Assert yourself, but be cautious. [5:45] On Fri. Aug. 8 (7:52 PM PDT), Mars opposes Saturn at 1°20' Libra-Aries. This can bring resistance, but don't give up. Use this aspect to take one small strategic action that can help move you forward. [8:20] Moon Report! The Aquarius Full Moon is on Sat. Aug. 9 (12:55 AM PDT), 16º59' Aquarius-Leo. Ask yourself how you can influence the world in a meaningful way. Gather with those who share your ideals to further your Leo New Moon creative goals. The Sabian symbol for this Full Moon is 17 Aquarius: A watchdog standing guard, and the Sun is on the symbol 17 Leo, A non-vested church choir. Find your people, raise your voice, and shape the future together. [12:09] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Full Moon (awareness point) in an LPFC that began with the New Moon on Feb. 9, 2024, at 20º40' Aquarius. The First Quarter Moon (first action point) of this LPFC was on Nov. 8, 2024, at 17º19' Aquarius. The Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on May 9, 2026, at 19º14' Aquarius. [13:52] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. On Tue, Aug. 5 (8:29 AM PDT), the Moon in Sagittarius squares Mars in Virgo. It's VOC for 1 hour 35 minutes, then enters Capricorn (10:04 AM PDT). Get in the habit of thinking before you speak. [15:27] On Wed. Aug. 6 (10:40 AM PDT), the Moon in Capricorn opposes Jupiter in Cancer. The Moon will be VOC for 1 day, 7 hours, and 38 minutes (!!!) before it enters Aquarius on Aug. 7 (6:18 PM PDT). During this VOC Moon period, monitor how you cope when things get difficult. Are there more effective tactics you could use? [17:28] On Sat. Aug. 9 (12:55 AM PDT), the Moon in Aquarius opposes the Sun in Leo. It's VOC for 22 hours 55 minutes (!!!), then enters Pisces (11:50 PM PDT). Evaluate what you want versus what society wants. Consider how your desires and needs can affect the others around you and also help you clarify what you want. [18:49] Mars opposes Neptune (Sat. Aug. 9, 3:13 PM PDT) at 1°50' Libra- Aries. Slow down, soften your approach, and consider how to use Mars energy on behalf of others. Bring spiritual and artistic influences into daily routines. Practice flexibility; get rest, reflect, and connect. Think less about what you can achieve and more about what you can contribute. [21:35] On Sun. Aug. 10 (5:29 AM PDT), Mars trines Pluto at 2º12' Libra-Aquarius. This is a powerful aspect for pushing through limits, especially in the areas of partnership, justice and progress. But if your efforts don't seem to make a difference, resist the temptation to just give up. What matters most is how you handle your weakness, your anger, and your frustration. [24:09] Listener Emily asks about the Mars Return. Lexi Silver is 15 years old. She lost both of her parents before she turned 11. That should tell you enough—but it doesn't. Because Lexi isn't here for your pity. She's not a sob story. She's not a trauma statistic. She's a writer, an advocate, and one of the most emotionally intelligent people you'll ever hear speak into a microphone. In this episode, Lexi breaks down what grief actually feels like when you're a kid and the adults around you just don't get it. She talks about losing her mom on Christmas morning, her dad nine months later, how the system let her down, and how Instagram trolls tell her she's faking it for attention. She also explains why she writes, what Experience Camps gave her, how she channels anger into poems, and what to say—and not say—to someone grieving. Her life isn't a Netflix drama. But it should be.And by the way, she's not “so strong.” She's just human. You'll never forget this conversation.RELATED LINKS• Lexi on Instagram: @meet.my.grief• Buy her book: The Girl Behind Grief's Shadow• Experience CampsFEEDBACKLike this episode? It's not that hard to kill a planet. All it takes is a little drilling, some mining, a generous helping of pollution and voila! Earth over. When you take stock of what's left, it starts to look like a crime scene: decapitated mountains, poisoned rivers, oil-soaked pelicans, maybe a sun-bleached cow skull in a dried-up lake bed. The only thing missing is yellow caution tape. On each episode of Lawless Planet, host Zach Goldbaum reveals the scams, murders and cover-ups on the frontline of the climate crisis, and the life and death choices people are making to either protect our world – or destroy it.Listen to Lawless Planet: Wondery.fm/LawlessPlanetSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Young people on the Right increasingly realize that the past 10 years were a waste of time and failed to stop the inexorable march into globalist techno-fascism that has destroyed our economic and social future. The problem is that this will just lead to political chemotherapy, where the young Right increasingly dabbles in dark ideas as a reactionary force that is not constructive to combatting the challenges of our time. Also, I show how MAGA Inc. has already quietly moved on to JD Vance as its leader, but the members won't publicly break with Trump on Epstein beyond a few days of complaining. Finally, every day we see more stories of how AI is oversold to the public, yet there are no effective leaders on the Right combatting it. Learn more about your ad choices.
