Imagine a world where cancer isn't a death sentence but simply a cellular adaptation that can be reversed. Where Parkinson's disease isn't an inevitability but a toxic burden that can be lifted. Dr. Thomas Lodi invites you into this paradigm-shifting perspective where the language we use determines not just our psychological response to illness, but our physiological one as well. The conventional medical system has taught us to fear diagnoses and surrender our power to specialists wielding toxic treatments. But what if we recognized that these "diseases" are actually adaptive responses by our bodies facing environmental challenges? Dr. Lodi explains how changing our terminology from "cancer" to "chronically fermenting cells" transforms our understanding from fighting a mysterious enemy to supporting metabolic restoration. When treatment becomes necessary, approaches like insulin-potentiated therapy deliver chemotherapy with precision rather than destruction. By exploiting cancer cells' increased insulin receptors, treatments can target damaged cells like a dart hitting a bullseye rather than a grenade destroying everything in its path. Yet Dr. Lodi emphasizes that addressing the causes—removing toxicity and providing optimal nutrition—remains paramount. The modern environment bombards us with unprecedented electromagnetic frequencies, compromising our immune systems and triggering adaptive responses we label as disease. From pneumonia to parasites, from breast cancer to brain disorders, the fundamental approach remains consistent: restore balance rather than attack symptoms. Therapeutic protocols featuring vitamin C, glutathione support, detoxification, and nutrient optimization create conditions where the body no longer needs adaptive strategies.Join Dr. Lodi's healing community where psychotherapists, kinesioloSend us a text Join Dr. Lodi's Inner Circle membership and unlock exclusive access to webinars, healthy recipes, e-books, educational videos, live Zoom Q&A sessions with Dr. Lodi, plus fresh content every month. Erica Campbell walked away from corporate life, took a hard left from the British Embassy, and found her calling writing checks for families nobody else sees. As Executive Director of Pinky Swear Foundation, she doesn't waste time on fluff. Her team pays rent, fills gas tanks, and gives sick kids' parents the one thing they don't have—time. Then, breast cancer hit her. She became the patient. Wrote a book about it. Didn't sugarcoat a damn thing. We talk about parking fees, grief, nonprofit burnout, and how the hell you decide which families get help and which don't. Also: AOL handles, John Hughes, and letters from strangers that make you cry. Erica is part Punky Brewster, part Rosie the Robot, and part Lisa Simpson—with just enough GenX Long Island sarcasm to make it all land. This one sticks.RELATED LINKSPinky Swear FoundationThe Mastectomy I Always Wanted (Book)Erica on LinkedInThink & Link: Erica Campbell“Like the Tale of a Starfish” - Blog Post“Cancer Diagnosis, Messy Life, Financial Support” - Blog PostFEEDBACKLike this episode? On June 9th, Jupiter enters Cancer for the first time since 2013-2014, and this isn't just another astrology transit - it's about to fundamentally shift how you think about business success. We're moving from Jupiter in Gemini's mental overload into expansion that actually nourishes you while it's happening. This is Jupiter's exaltation, meaning it can express its absolute highest potential here. If you've been building a business that technically works but leaves you feeling drained, this transit is asking: What would it look like to build a life and business that actually nourishes you while you're living it? I'm breaking down why this is one of the most powerful business transits of the year, the "crab's shell" metaphor that reveals when your safety structures are keeping you small, and exactly what this means for your money, relationships, and career based on your rising sign.In this episode, I reveal:

Peter Ordentlich, Chief Scientific Officer and Founder at Syndax Pharmaceuticals, a clinical oncology company, is focused on developing precision medicine approaches to treat cancer and chronic graft-versus-host disease. The menin protein plays a critical role in driving certain types of blood cancers, and the Synex therapy is a menin inhibitor that can disrupt this cancer-driving pathway. The platform is also developing an antibody addressing the unmet needs in cGVHD to reduce the disease-driving macrophages. Peter explains, "Syndax is a clinical oncology company, which means we're focused primarily on cancer, and we're primarily doing clinical development. We started the company really looking at resistance pathways to developing cancer, and we've been focused on two main areas. One in the indication space of leukemia, which are certain types of blood cancers, and that's with a program we have around the small molecule drug called revumenib. We are also focused in another area of diseases called chronic graft-versus-host disease. These are diseases that happen post-stem cell transplant, and there we're developing an antibody called axatilimab. And so those two programs are really what we've been focusing on for the last five or six years and have led to each of those drugs." "So menin is a very interesting protein, and basically what this is, it's called a scaffold protein. And you can imagine a scaffold, just something you build things upon. And so menin interacts with DNA through a variety of other factors, and you build on top of this a complex of other proteins that can turn genes on and off. And in the case of certain types of leukemias, the mutation that creates certain other cancer-causing proteins binds to menin. That's what drives certain genes that drive leukemia to always be turned on. And so what we've tried to do and others have tried to do is disrupt that interaction and essentially cause the scaffold to fall apart. And when that falls apart, you can no longer keep those genes on that drive leukemia, and instead, you have genes that essentially cause the cell to stop growing." #SyndaxPharma #AcuteLeukemia #cGHVD #Oncology #PrecisionMedicine #Menin #MeninInhibitors syndax.com Listen to the podcast here

When a child battles cancer, they need more than just medicine – they need moments of joy, strength, and normalcy. That's exactly what Project Outrun delivers through their innovative approach to supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families. In this deeply moving conversation, Courtney Salyer, Director of Operations for Project Outrun, shares how this Ohio-based nonprofit transforms the lives of children fighting cancer across all 50 states. What began eight years ago with founder Andy Shepperd creating custom Nike shoes for one young cancer patient has blossomed into a nationwide movement that has provided thousands of personalized kicks to kids in hundreds of hospital systems. The organization's brilliance lies in its "sport to heal" metaphor – rather than being defined as patients, children become "Outrun athletes" who receive not just custom shoes, but complete swag bags with medals, t-shirts proclaiming "I'm not sick, but my shoes are," and personalized paper finish lines where they can set and celebrate their own goals. The emotional highlight? Seeing kids break through those finish lines to celebrate achievements both medical and personal – from completing treatment to simply finishing second grade.Courtney's own journey from Spanish teacher to nonprofit leader, illustrates how taking a leap of faith can lead to profoundly meaningful work. Her passion shines through as she details Project Outrun's signature event – the Faster Everyday Festival and 5K – where participants get a 4:01 head start (symbolizing the less than 4% of cancer funding that goes to pediatric research) before local elite runner Aiman Scullion gives chase.Far more than just a race, this festival creates a celebratory space where Outrun families, supporters, and community members connect through carnival games, food, music, and shared purpose. It perfectly encapsulates what makes Project Outrun special – the understanding that helping kids with cancer means strengthening entire families and communities.Visit projectoutrun.org to donate, register for their June 21st festival in Cuyahoga Falls, or learn how to create your own fundraiser campaign. Because when it comes to helping kids outrun cancer, we all have a role to play.

[Originally Aired: 6/13/24] Mary chats with Pastor and author Mike Abendroth who has written a 31 day devotional on how to allow God to shepherd us when we find ourselves suffering from chronic illness. The title alone is very freeing, and when we search the Scriptures, how much more is this true and verified over and over as we seek to get to know our Good Shepherd better. Everyone is shepherded, led - and follows - something in this life, we are all serving something, someone. But for the believer, the true Shepherd cannot be supplanted by something as temporal as illness; beyond that, He cherishes and cares deeply for each of us each day, in sickness and in health. As he says in this devotional, "Cancer is not your shepherd. Cancer is not in charge. Cancer is not all powerful. Cancer does not have the last word. Cancer is not a surprise to the Lord. Cancer - is NOT your shepherd". A much needed devotional in these trying, perilous times in which it seems more and more people are struggling with serious health issues. Mike is currently working on a video series on this subject.

Prepare to work through some conflicts, as practically everything in this busy week is in a fractious square to everything else. Mercury and Jupiter clash with Saturn. Venus squares Pluto, Mars squares Uranus, Mercury squares Neptune, and the Sun squares the lunar nodes, signaling the midpoint between eclipse seasons. The Sagittarius Full Moon highlights the big picture, and for a little respite from all those hard aspects, Jupiter moves into one of its favorite signs, Cancer. And a listener question about planets that are in difficult aspect, but in compatible signs. Plus: Man on wire, a mermaid, and making the world your home! Read a full transcript of this episode. Timestamps [1:36] Mercury squares Saturn (June 9, 3:48 AM PDT) at 00°59' Cancer-Aries. Take responsibility for your actions and feelings. Delays and obstacles are likely in travel and communication. Tackle difficult projects, because this is an aspect that is designed to deal with difficult things. [3:07] Venus squares Pluto (June 9, 10:20 AM PDT) at 3°31' Taurus-Aquarius. This aspect can indicate major losses or gains in relationships and finances, and reminds us that nothing lasts forever. Venus' Sabian symbol, 4 Taurus, The rainbow's pot of gold. Pluto's Sabian symbol is 4 Aquarius, A Hindu healer. [4:54] Jupiter enters its sign of exaltation, Cancer, on June 9 (2:02 PM PDT) through June 29, 2026. Jupiter was last in this sign from June 25, 2013-July 16, 2014. The more you see of the world, the more of it feels like home to you. Open your heart and your home – maybe literally enlarging or renovating where you live. [7:55] On June 9 (3:54 PM PDT), Mercury squares Neptune (2°00' Cancer- Aries). The Sabian symbol for Mercury is 2 Cancer, A man suspended over a vast level place, which is reminiscent of the movie Man on Wire. Mercury connecting with Neptune, even by square, brings inspiration, and any impossible journey begins with a vision. [9:29] Moon Report! The Sagittarius Full Moon (June 11, 12:44 AM PDT) is at 20°39' Sagittarius on the Sabian symbol 21 Sagittarius, A child and a dog with borrowed eyeglasses. This Full Moon reveals what was set in place at the May 26 Gemini New Moon. Think about why you set those goals and what they will mean in the overall scheme of your life. [13:28] Lunar Phase Family Cycle (LPFC). This is the Full Moon (awareness point) in an LPFC that began with a New Moon on Dec. 12, 2023, at 20°40' Sagittarius. The First Quarter (first action point) was on Sep. 10, 2024, at 19° Sagittarius. The Last Quarter Moon (final action point) is on March 11, 2026, at 20°49' Sagittarius. [14:54] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon Periods. On June 9 (5:06 AM PDT), the Moon in Scorpio opposes Uranus. It's VOC for 2 hours, 49 minutes, then enters Sagittarius (7:55 AM PDT). If people are a little bit scratchy, instead of taking it personally, use this VOC Moon period to initiate a habit of refusing to engage in such situations. [16:14] On June 11 (12:58 PM PDT), the Moon in Sagittarius trines Mars in Leo. It's VOC for 5 hours, 57 minutes, then enters Capricorn (6:55 PM PDT). Believe in your own capabilities. [17:13] On June 14 (1:52 AM PDT), the Moon in Capricorn trines Uranus in Taurus. It's VOC for 2 hours, 8 minutes, then enters Aquarius (4:00 AM PDT). Switch up your morning routine a bit. Try something new. [18:31] The Sun squares the lunar nodes on June 13 (2:47 AM PDT) at 22°38' Gemini, Pisces/Virgo. This is the midway point between eclipse seasons. This point triggers the March 13, 2025 total lunar eclipse at 23°56' Virgo and Pisces, and offers a glimpse of the Sep. 7, 2025, total lunar eclipse at 15°22' Pisces. If you have any planets or points in your chart between 15-24 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces, this square might make you feel you're at a turning point related to those planets. [20:01] Mars squares Uranus (June 15, 2:47 AM PDT) at 28°54' Leo-Taurus. This is a volatile combination of planets, so avoid situations that you know for a fact can be dangerous. Mars is on the Sabian symbol 29 Leo, A Mermaid. Uranus is on 29 Taurus, Two cobblers working at a table. [22:18] Jupiter makes the last of three squares to Saturn (June 15, 7:36 AM PDT) at 1°18' Cancer-Aries. This combination of planets is closely associated with the economy and the current cycle began on Dec. 21, 2020, with the conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn. This is an interesting action point in this overall cycle. [24:22] Listener Paula asks about how to interpret planets that are in difficult aspect, but in compatible signs. It's a special one, neighbor ✨ Jupiter moves into its exaltation in Cancer, and is the ruler of our full moon in Sagittarius this week too. There's an optimism in the air—if you know where and how to look, so be on the lookout for the things you've grown apathetic, desensitized to, or tend to take for granted. The medicine is in the gratitude work, and especially in (re)connecting with those reciprocal relationships we consider family and closest friends. With a truth-bomb power reading from reversed King of Cups and the iconic Kendrick Lamar, trust me when I say you are going to be SO glad you listened to Moonday Musings this week.In this episode…I'm using the Golden Universal Tarot deck and the Music Oracles deck.Become a member of That Witch School and unlock my entire Bonus Episode Library (including the 2+ Hour Essential Dignities bonus episode I mention in today's Moonday Musings!) and sssooooo much more
If your doctor is recommending that you get a mastectomy, you will likely have some choices about how the surgery is performed. Your breast cancer treatment, your body, your breast shape and your lifestyle affect not only your options, but also the pros and cons of your options. There's no one method that works best for everyone because each person is unique. Today we are going to be exploring one specific type of mastectomy – the nipple-sparing mastectomy. This is a skin-sparing mastectomy that leaves the nipple and areola intact and usually improves the overall look of the reconstructed breast. Joining us on the show today are two very special guests: Dr. Mara Piltin, a Breast and Melanoma Surgical Oncologist and Physician Assistant, Maddie Beiswanger, both from Mayo Clinic. They are going to tell us more about nipple-sparing mastectomy procedures, current research that is being conducted around the use of minimally invasive robotic surgery to assist in these procedures and the possible benefits that these innovations can provide. This episode of The Real Pink Podcast is brought to you by Intuitive Surgical. Intuitive is a global technology leader in minimally invasive care and the pioneer of robotic-assisted surgery. Intuitive has been advancing minimally invasive care since 1995 with the goal of helping physicians improve the lives of people around the world. You can learn more at www.Intuitive.com

The astrology of this week is intense, chaotic, and challenging. We are under the effects of Saturn and Neptune being very close to each other in Aries, the upcoming Square by Jupiter to them both, as well as a Mars Square to Uranus, all of which will be exact next week. In the meantime, this week, we have challenging transits to Pluto, Saturn, and Neptune to contend with, as well as an emotionally provocative Full Moon in Sagittarius. In an increasingly complex world, the astrology is as heavy as you might expect. Learn all about it on this week's episode of Ghost.
