You knew something was wrong with your body long before anyone found it. Months, sometimes years, of being the only one who kept taking your chronic illness seriously - while the standard tests came back clear and the system ran out of places to look. So you found your own answers. And you were right. But here's the part almost no one connects to their physical symptoms. When being proven right costs you that much, a part of you starts holding onto the evidence of how sick you are — because that proof is the thing you fought to earn. And that emotional pattern can sit directly across from the healing you say you want as a woman with chronic illness. In this episode, you'll discover:Why the years you spent being the only one who believed you can end up working against you now.Why part of you can want to be well and resist it in the same breath. What changes when getting well no longer feels like conceding anything.Becoming the Version of You Who Heals is my seven-day audio series that works at the level of identity — separating who you are from what you've been diagnosed with, one day at a time. What began as a personal testimony eventually helped prepare her for television production and, ultimately, producing a movie. At the heart of Julie's testimony is a simple principle: say yes to God.Julie discusses what it means to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit when you cannot see where the journey will take you. She describes how God used seemingly disconnected seasons of her life—writing, healing, television, and filmmaking—“line upon line, precept upon precept” to prepare her for what came next. TS and Julie also explore the importance of waiting on God, recognizing His voice, obeying even when His direction seems unusual, and understanding that the ultimate purpose of the believer's life is to glorify God.In this episode, discover:Why saying yes to God can lead to an extraordinary life of faith. How painful seasons can become part of God's healing process. Why waiting is often an essential part of obedience. How Julie's personal testimony became On Earth as It Is in Heaven. Why aspiring Christian authors should begin writing when they sense God calling them. How small beginnings can prepare believers for much larger assignments. Why increasing obedience strengthens faith and prepares us for greater responsibility. How our individual stories can ultimately point people back to Jesus Christ.Julie closes with a powerful encouragement: do not despise small beginnings. What God is doing today may be preparation for an assignment you cannot yet see. Be faithful, remain obedient, and allow Him to receive the glory through your story. We're getting into intergenerational trauma, why "gentle parenting" content ignores the reality Latina moms actually live in, what reparenting really looks like day to day, and how the money scarcity messaging we grew up with shapes our kids for life. Teaching kids to question authority is a survival skill, not disrespect.CONNECT WITH LESLIE:– Latinx Parenting: https://latinxparenting.org– Buy the book: https://latinxparenting.org/chancla-book/ – Follow Leslie on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/latinxparenting TAKE THE NEXT STEP WITH YO QUIERO DINERO:

Corrections officers, police, firefighters, dispatchers, and veterans often carry stress that stacks up quietly over years: shift work, chronic hypervigilance, moral injury, and the constant exposure to trauma. In this conversation, Mike Marotta explains why so many first responders feel safest with coworkers yet struggle to let their guard down at home, even with the people who love them most. That gap can fuel isolation, relationship strain, and unhealthy coping strategies. For anyone searching for first responder mental health resources, PTSD support, or addiction treatment options, the key theme is simple: you do not leave these professions unscathed, and pretending you are fine usually makes the bill come due later.Mike Marotta is a former U.S. Air Force C-5 loadmaster and San Antonio police officer who helped build a department-wide wellness initiative before moving into behavioral health leadership at Warriors Heart. His story is honest about the slow drift many first responders recognize: shift work, accumulating trauma, family distance, and coping habits that quietly turn into a problem. We dig into what makes Warriors Heart a true fit for the first responder, corrections, and military communities, including correctional officers. It is a 42-day inpatient residential treatment program built for veterans, active duty, and public safety professionals, with no need to explain the culture. Mike explains the interrelated model that treats substance use disorder and co-occurring issues like PTSD and trauma at the same time, and why peer community is not a bonus feature; it is the backbone. “Connection is protection” is not a tagline here; it is a plan. You will also hear practical guidance you can use immediately: the warning signs that stress is turning dangerous (sleep, weight gain, anger, isolation, increased drinking, risky behavior), how to start a compassionate but direct conversation with a coworker, and what treatment really looks like day to day. We walk through structure, routines, the powerful Lifeline process, and how families and careers can change when someone comes back healthier and sober. If this hits close to home, share it with a partner, a squad mate, or a supervisor who needs better language for tough conversations, then subscribe and leave a review so more first responders can find real help.Contact Mike: mike.marotta@warriorsheart.com If you need help now - call (855) 610-1003Mike on LinkedIN - www.linkedin.com/in/mike-marotta-96607754Mike on FoxNews - https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/heroes-need-help-four-signs-first-responder-strugglingSend us Fan Mail Command PresenceBringing prisons and jails the training they deserve!Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. In this video, Lee Hammock explains how childhood patterns, trauma bonds, familiar dysfunction, love bombing, low self trust, and the hope of finally being chosen can shape relationship choices. EVEN MORE about this episode! What happens when you suddenly begin seeing angels—and realize they may have been there all along? Julie Ryan talks with Rebecca Kastl about the extraordinary night a simple journal entry to God triggered a spiritual awakening she never expected—and changed the way she experienced reality.Within days, Rebecca began seeing luminous light around complete strangers, receiving unmistakable guidance from angels, and having dreams that later came true. But what began as wonder eventually led to years of questioning: Was it really Spirit, or was she imagining it all? Then came a frightening carbon monoxide incident—and an experience Rebecca believes was nothing short of angelic intervention.Rebecca and Julie explore Archangel Michael, guardian angels, prophetic dreams, angel numbers, feathers, pennies, “God bumps,” and the subtle ways Spirit may be communicating with us every day. They also discuss why spiritual awakenings can arrive when we least expect them, how to distinguish intuition from imagination, and what happens when we finally stop dismissing the signs.Guest Biography:Rebecca Kastl is a pediatric speech language pathologist, healer, speaker, and teacher who underwent a life-changing Spiritually Transformative Experience (STE) in her twenties while working on healing from childhood trauma. Her STE started when she spontaneously devoted her life to God while writing in her journal. That night she saw a beautiful light that spoke to her, after which she began seeing light inside everyone, having psychic dreams, viewing alternate timelines of her life, feeling how connected we all are, and sensing and communicating with angels. Rebecca is a former total skeptic with Christian, Jewish, and indigenous influences in her family that helped shape her understanding of her experiences. She now speaks about her experiences on podcasts and at conferences and offers her Sacred Soul sessions to clients around the globe. In this episode of The Estranged Heart podcast, Kreed explores one of the most common and often most painful questions in complicated family relationships: Why can't you just let it go?After a recent conversation about the decades-long history between Kreed and her sibling Kreed examines why remembering and naming relational history isn't necessarily the same thing as holding a grudge. For someone who grew up cast as the “problem child,” being told in adulthood to stop rehashing the past can recreate the very family dynamic that caused harm in the first place: your reaction becomes the problem while the context behind your reaction disappears.Kreed also brings this conversation directly into parent–adult child estrangement. When an adult child continues talking about the past, are they refusing to move forward or are they trying to determine whether the relationship they're being invited back into actually understands what went wrong? And importantly, when does healthy processing become unhealthy rumination?Takeaways:Silence is not necessarily evidence of healing, and talking about the past is not necessarily evidence of being stuck. There is an important difference between processing the past and prosecuting the past.Healing doesn't require erasing relational history. The goal is integration: understanding what happened without allowing it to run the present. The wound doesn't have to disappear from your story. It just needs to stop running your story.RESOURCES & SUPPORTFacebook Support Group (facilitated by Kreed) - https://www.facebook.com/groups/estrangedmotherssupportgroupOne-on-One ServicesPrivate coachingConsultingMediation servicesConnect with Kreed:Website: theestrangedheart.comEmail: hello@theestrangedheart.comSupport the work: Buy Me a Coffee (donation platform)Disclaimer: Kreed Revere is not a licensed therapist. When He Says He'll Change: What Real Recovery From Porn Addiction Actually Looks Like With Sathiya Sam, Founder of DeepClean™ After discovering pornography, infidelity, or other secret sexual behavior, one of the hardest questions isn't simply Why did he do it? It's Can he actually change? He may swear he'll never do it again. Delete apps. Install filters. Start therapy. Hand over his phone. Go weeks or months without pornography. And you desperately want to believe that this time is different. But how can you tell the difference between someone who has stopped a behavior—for now—and someone who is actually changing? In this episode, Lora Cheadle sits down with Sathiya Sam, founder of DeepClean™, author of The Last Relapse, and host of The Man Within podcast, for a candid conversation about pornography addiction, betrayal, relapse, and what lasting recovery really requires. Drawing from his own 15-year struggle with pornography and his work helping men recover, Sathiya explains why pornography addiction is rarely solved by willpower, promises, shame, filters, or simply trying harder. Lasting change requires getting underneath the behavior to the emotional wounds, unmet needs, nervous-system patterns, beliefs, and identity that helped create the cycle in the first place. His current DeepClean approach likewise emphasizes addressing underlying emotional wounds, core beliefs, unmet needs, regulation, identity, and relationships rather than measuring success only by abstinence. Lora and Sathiya also address the question so many betrayed partners struggle with: What is my role in his recovery? Because supporting someone is not the same as recovering for them. You cannot love him enough, monitor him enough, become a "superwife," have more sex, make his life easier, or find the perfect words that will make him change. His recovery belongs to him. Your healing belongs to you. And perhaps most importantly, recovery doesn't have to mean returning to the relationship you had before. When someone genuinely addresses the roots of addiction, the goal isn't simply a man who no longer watches pornography. It's a man who knows himself better, regulates himself differently, communicates more honestly, takes responsibility for his needs and behavior, and begins showing up differently in his marriage and his life.   Top 3 Takeaways Stopping the behavior is not the same as healing what created it. A promise to stop, an internet filter, accountability software, or a period of abstinence may change behavior without addressing its roots. Sathiya describes lasting recovery as developing self-awareness, healing underlying emotional wounds and unmet needs, and shifting identity—not merely becoming better at resisting pornography. Look for trends of transformation, not just streaks of abstinence. Instead of asking only, How many days has he been "clean"?, look at what is changing in the man. Can he name his emotions and needs? Regulate himself during difficult conversations? Talk about what he's uncovering without becoming immediately defensive? Take responsibility for his recovery? Communicate honestly about both struggles and progress? As Sathiya explains, a relapse does not automatically erase every bit of growth—and a long streak does not necessarily prove the underlying problem has healed. You can support his recovery, but you cannot do it for him. One of the most painful truths for a betrayed partner is that you cannot make someone want recovery more than they want it themselves. Your job is not to become his accountability partner or work harder for his healing than he does. Your work is getting your own support, processing your pain safely, establishing and upholding your boundaries, and paying attention to what his behavior—not merely his promises—is showing you. Favorite Quotes “He kind of has to want to change more than you want him to change for anything to actually change.” — Sathiya Sam “I would rather be 100% my true self and rejected than 80% my true self and accepted.” — Sathiya Sam “This is not about him not loving her. This is not about him not valuing the marriage or the relationship or their kids.” — Lora Cheadle   About Sathiya Sam Sathiya Sam is the founder of DeepClean™, an author, international speaker, former university researcher and pastor, and host of The Man Within podcast. After his own long struggle with pornography, Sathiya developed a root-focused approach to helping men move beyond addictive behaviors by addressing emotional wounds, unmet needs, regulation, faith, relationships, and identity. His book, The Last Relapse, expands on the principles discussed in this episode, including why lasting freedom requires more than willpower or surface-level behavior modification. In this episode, Coach Blu and Coach Wendell discuss how addiction often reveals itself through patterns such as secrecy, defensiveness, isolation, broken promises, emotional reactivity, and continued substance use or compulsive behavior despite negative consequences. They explore the importance of looking beyond a single incident and recognizing how these behaviors affect relationships, responsibilities, health, and personal values. The conversation also highlights self-awareness as a foundation for recovery, learning to identify emotions, triggers, cravings, and the unmet needs beneath addictive behavior. They also examine how honest, respectful communication can reduce defensiveness and strengthen trust. By expressing feelings clearly, listening without judgment, accepting responsibility, and making specific requests, individuals can address conflict more effectively. Blu and Wendell emphasize that vulnerability is not weakness; it is the willingness to acknowledge fear, shame, uncertainty, and the need for support while still taking responsibility for personal choices. Ultimately, recovery involves replacing avoidance with honesty, developing healthier coping strategies, and consistently choosing actions that align with the person one wants to become.Chapters00:00 Introduction and episode overview01:52 Signs of behavioral addiction and secrecy04:54 The role of device privacy and reactions to questions10:03 Communication strategies and vulnerability14:47 Understanding triggers and internal shifts19:48 Concealment, betrayal, and shame24:51 The cycle of addiction and relapse autopsy29:55 Healing through curiosity and self-awareness40:12 The importance of community and support50:09 Finding awe and joy in recovery55:08 Conclusion and resources for recoveryJoin Coach Blu and Team Addict II Athlete and begin your recovery with a tram behind you! Business Coaching Secrets

Episode Summary In this episode, Karl Bryan and Rode Dog are joined by guest Chutes as they dive deep into the realities of business coaching success, the psychology behind high-performing coaches, and practical frameworks for filling live events, recruiting talent, and building a business you could sell tomorrow (even if you never want to). The duo address why most business owners regret selling their businesses, how to break free from nervous system roadblocks, and the myths of retirement and "following your passion." Packed with street-level tactics and high-level mindset shifts, the episode is a must-listen for any coach wanting to elevate their impact—and their income. Key Topics Covered What Separates Struggling vs. Dominant Coaches Karl Bryan explains that action (not just planning) is what divides the mediocre from the masters 03:33. Struggling coaches obsess over lead generation; winners obsess over creating value, up-leveling their operating system, and honing a world-class deliverable 04:09. Why Most Exiting Owners Have Regret Karl Bryan shares the sobering stat: 73% of owners regret selling their businesses 07:27. The myth of the "big payday" vs. reality—a deal often means less cash, complicated earn-outs, and a shell of your former company 09:21. The right way to exit is building a sellable business, headhunting successors, and prioritizing tight contracts with expert legal help 12:01. Recruiting Top Talent in Any Industry For hard-to-hire trades, don't just post an ad—sell a vision, recruit from outside your market, and lead like a college football recruiter 16:01. The secret is to approach hiring as outreach, not just intake 13:16. Mastering Your Nervous System for Ultimate Performance The biggest blocks are psychological, not tactical—if you're stuck, look at your environment, self-connection, and relationships, not just your to-do list 18:29. Build meaningful connections, manage stress through self-awareness, and focus on root causes rather than just treating symptoms 19:43. The Real Meaning of Retirement & Passion Karl Bryan breaks down why "retirement" is often an illusion that leads to boredom, divorce, or addiction 28:14. Instead, shoot for "semi-retired for life"—keep a handful of clients you love and never truly stop delivering value 32:05. Don't chase passion blindly—excel at what you do, fall in love with service and progress, and your business will love you back 36:14. Karl's No-Excuses Blueprint to Filling an Event in Five Days Pick up the phone like your life depends on it, research new/local businesses, and genuinely care about the value you bring 43:34. Build high-energy connections, focus on helping vs. selling, and don't be afraid of rejection 46:05. Notable Quotes "Struggling coaches focus on what they earn. The best focus on what they learn." — Karl Bryan 06:52 "The magic is not in the plan. The magic is in the planning." — Karl Bryan 05:01 "High-end buyers buy on identity. Lower-end buyers buy off utility and desire." — Karl Bryan 05:53 "Healing your nervous system isn't about becoming someone new. It's becoming you again." — Karl Bryan 25:05 "'Do what you love' is overrated. It's 'love what you do' and master the process." — Karl Bryan 38:42 "Progress equals happiness." — Rode Dog, show close 58:30 Actionable Takeaways Focus on Value, Not Leads: Obsession with helping and delivering unmatched results outlasts any marketing hack. — Shift your attention to client outcomes and continuously improve your deliverable. Recruit Boldly: Don't wait for great hires to find you. Go out, tell your company's vision, and proactively sell A-players on joining—no matter the industry. Plan for an Exit You May Never Take: Build your business as if you'll sell, but with the strength and systems that let you walk away or stay for life. Address Mindset Before Tactics: If you're "jammed up," investigate your environment, relationships, and sense of self-safety. Connection, not isolation, is the real performance unlock. Ditch the Retirement Myth: Aim for "semi-retirement"—a hands-on, purpose-driven lifestyle with a few high-impact clients, not endless leisure. Love What You Do—Don't Just Chase Passion: Mastery, service, and progress are the foundations of a fulfilling business. Passion follows excellence. Fill Events Fast by Taking Relentless Action: Research every local business. Call with conviction. Focus on getting them in the room to help—not just to sell. Lady, when was the last time you took a long hard look in the mirror to examine the negativity you may bring to your relationships? We know that doing so requires hard work and often a level of vulnerability that some of us will readily avoid. In today’s throwback episode, Terri and Dom offer us ways to identify when and why we are the toxic ones in our relationships. They also share some of their toxic ways. Within that sharing, the ladies also provide us with concrete steps to take if we are ready for making a change in our behavior patterns. Be sure to tune in and also scroll below for more information on tips and resources mentioned in this episode. Quote of the Day: "Your toxicity in your relationships with other people is actually an extension of the toxicity in your relationship to yourself. What if some of the qualities you've learned to call “strength” are clues to a wound underneath? You may be responsible, independent, productive, and good at taking care of everyone else. But when those patterns become extreme, they can sometimes point to wounds you've learned to carry alone. In this week's episode, Dr. Alison is joined by therapist and author Sheila Wise Rowe for a conversation about the less obvious ways trauma can shape our lives. Together, they explore how people-pleasing, perfectionism, self-sufficiency, minimizing pain, and avoiding conflict can become protective responses—and why healing begins by getting curious about what those patterns are trying to tell us. You'll learn: *How trauma can show up in ways we may not immediately recognize *Why people-pleasing, perfectionism, and self-sufficiency can become protective patterns *How family and community wounds can shape us across generations *Why minimizing your pain can keep you disconnected from what needs care *The role of lament in bringing your real emotions before God *Why healing rarely happens alone *How small steps, safe people, and God's presence can help create lasting change Healing doesn't require you to minimize what happened or convince yourself that someone else had it worse. It begins with noticing what is true, allowing God into the places that hurt, and taking one small step toward connection. Illuminate Podcast: Shining Light on the Darkness of Pornography

After betrayal, couples are often told they just need to communicate better. But what if communication isn't actually the problem? In this episode, we challenge one of the most common pieces of relationship advice and explore why communication techniques often fail in the early stages of betrayal recovery. We discuss why a betrayed partner's distress is already communicating something important, why recovering partners must learn to respond to the pain beneath the words, and why genuine safety, not better communication skills, is what creates lasting connection. The truth is, good communication isn't where healing starts.
