Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend! I'm looking forward to sharing with you some of our community's questions that have come in over the past few weeks… Amy: Hi Dr Cabral. Many thanks for all that you do for this community! I'd love your advice on anal fissures. I had one recently that had begun healing. My doctor gave me Diltiazem/Lidocaine cream that I used 2x day and my fissure closed and developed healing/scar tissue. However, less than 2 months later, it's opened again. His suggestions previously involved either Botox injections or surgery if the cream had not worked and I would prefer to try and address it more naturally. Do you have any suggestions about what I can do to get this fissure to heal and stay healed naturally? I'm working on diet/fiber but that doesn't seem to be enough. One bad bout of constipation and it seems to undo anything I've done to help. Thanks! Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral. This is a bit of an intimate question. I'm having some sort of reaction after I have sexual intercourse. I get a prickly, itchy, warm sensation in my vagina, on my legs and stomach. Sometimes red bumps appear on my skin. Almost like I'm having an allergic reaction. Symptoms continue on and off for about 3 or 4 days then everything calms down and goes back to normal. It seems to happen more around ovulation and menstruation but recently happening anytime of the month. Any idea what is happening to me and what I can do to heal it?! To note, I'm 40 years old, still getting regular periods. Thank you for your help! Mke: Hi Dr Cabral, would love your thoughts. I have known for a year I've had silicosis & PMF (progressive massive fibrosis) I was misdiagnosed for the last 15 years they've told me I've had sarcoidosis. My wife is an IHP, and we have been doing foundational protocols/DNS/detoxes/heavy metal detox/saunas/coffee enemas etc for the past 3 years. I have a very physical job and do keep my cardio fitness up, which seems to help my breathing. We have just invested in a home soft shell hyperbaric chamber after speaking to a guy in the US who's lung function has dramatically improved (he has silicosis but not PMF) as well as investing in a rife machine. Do you have any advice, thoughts or info on slowing down or reversing scarring or anything that might help? Jamie: My daughter, nearly seven, has developed severe hay fever this year in the UK. She is constantly sneezing, has dark circles under her eyes, looks exhausted for almost three months, and her sleep, breathing, concentration and focus seem affected. She may also have a mild dairy intolerance, possibly linked to eczema in her inner elbows, though otherwise she is active and well. We also suspect slightly restricted sinus passages and mouth-breathing, and are considering seeing a functional-medicine-style dentist to support facial/skull development. Could you advise on practical ways to help her and whether any allergy or other tests would be worthwhile at her age to identify the root cause? Any initial guidance hugely welcome. Massive thank you to you your family and your team. Sarah: Last year I was diagnosed with stage 4 grade 3 endometrial cancer. I underwent six rounds of chemotherapy: Paclitaxel and carboplatin along with immunotherapy; jemperli. I also had a complete hysterectomy after the third round. Prior to treatment I had regular bowel movements. Now they are loose and very dark brown. I have very limited resources currently. What do you suggest I do to heal my gut? Join the community today: https://www.skool.com/health-anxiety-university Why Medical Reassurance Stops Working for Health Anxiety | The Anxiety Guy Podcast There comes a point in the health anxiety cycle where another test, another appointment, another explanation, or another "you're fine" no longer brings the peace it once did. This, I believe is because health anxiety is rarely satisfied by information alone. In this episode of The Anxiety Guy Podcast we will explore what happens when the mind becomes dependent on outside confirmation before it feels safe in the body. You may know logically that you have been checked. You may have been reassured more than once. You may even understand that anxiety can create real physical symptoms. Yet something inside still asks, "But what if this time is different?" This episode will help you understand why reassurance can become part of the fear pattern, how the search for certainty keeps the nervous system on alert, and why true recovery requires something deeper than another answer. Inside this episode, we'll explore: Why reassurance can calm the mind briefly but fail to create lasting safety. How health anxiety teaches the brain to mistrust the body. Why repeated checking, researching, and asking can keep the alarm system active. How to begin responding to symptoms without turning them into threats. Why recovery is not about being 100% certain, but becoming more grounded in uncertainty. This conversation is for anyone who feels stuck in the loop of body scanning, Googling symptoms, asking others for reassurance, replaying doctor visits, or needing one more sign that everything is okay. Healing begins when you stop outsourcing safety to the next answer and begin rebuilding a steady relationship with yourself. Hey lady! This week Dr. Dom and Terri welcome Dr. Kemi Doll, a physician, surgeon, researcher, advocate and author of A Terrible Strength: The Hidden Crisis of the Black Womb & Your Survival Guide to Healing to sit down and talk to us about the importance of caring for our wombs at all stages of life. Dr. Kemi provides an insightful and informative lens as to how the impact of adequate care – and the neglect of such care – can shape Black women’s reproductive health and overall quality of life. Far too often, Black women’s reproductive health is reduced to the facilitation of producing babies and little more. However, there is a vast array of reproductive issues that affect Black women and those issues are not given the spotlight that they need – particularly uterine cancer, the fastest growing cancer in Black women. Dr. Kemi gives a historical review of how we collectively arrived to a place where not only is Black women’s maternal health in peril, but we are now facing aggressive concerns in other womb matters. The good news is that with once you are armed with good information you can turn those debilitating aches and pains into a plan to advocate for your health and your needs. Lady, you’re going to want to pay close attention because Dr. Kemi is going to lay out the tell-tale symptoms that let you know you’re experiencing abnormal womb health. Good health isn’t given to you, it’s something that you tend to and advocate for your entire lifetime. We know as a Black woman you may be accustomed to pushing through all the random and weird body sensations you may experience but it’s time to tune in and make sure that you’re listening to your temple and treating it as such. We’re sending you love and positive energy, lady! Quote of the Day: "To all who cramp, bleed, and endure- and those who love us. Most people know sauna is good for them. Far fewer understand why, or why the difference between a generic infrared sauna and a precision-engineered one can be the difference between feeling good and genuine transformation. In this episode of Why Isn't Everyone Doing This?, Emily Fletcher sits down with Connie Zach, co-founder of Sunlighten, for a science-grounded, story-rich conversation about the healing power of heat and light. Connie traces the origin of her 25-year mission to her brother's recovery from mercury poisoning, and the cardiovascular research she was quietly encountering while working in pharmaceutical development at Procter & Gamble. What she found convinced her that infrared sauna was one of the most underutilized healing technologies on the planet. Together, Emily and Connie break down the four wavelengths of the infrared spectrum, why each interacts with the body differently, and why Sunlighten's patented approach to separating and delivering those wavelengths produces results that general infrared products don't. They also share the transformation stories that have fueled Connie's work for decades: Leanne Rimes managing severe anxiety with what she calls her "happiness in a box," a woman named Jerry who went from being unable to climb stairs to moving freely again, and elderly patients who dramatically increased their exercise capacity through passive infrared therapy. Emily shares why infrared sauna is one of only two wellness practices she would take with her to a desert island, and what it feels like to combine daily meditation with consistent sauna use for nervous system support. In this episode, they explore: – The four wavelengths of the infrared spectrum and how each one interacts with the body – Why far infrared is the foundation of all infrared therapy and how it triggers cardiovascular conditioning – Near infrared's deep penetration capacity, and why Dr. Glenn Jeffrey at University College London says it does 90% of the heavy lifting in light therapy – Japan's Waon therapy: a first-line treatment for congestive heart failure showing a 50% reduction in hospitalization and death – How infrared sauna mimics passive exercise by increasing circulation, heart rate, and blood flow – The link between stagnant circulation and disease, and why consistent heat therapy keeps the system flowing – Connie's brother's recovery from heavy metal toxicity and the pharmaceutical research that changed everything – Why all infrared is not the same, and what to look for in a sauna if transformation is the goal – Leanne Rimes, chronic anxiety, and "happiness in a box" – What changes on the planet when more people have access to this level of recovery Key Moments: 00:00 – Why isn't everyone understanding the magic of heat and light? 05:09 – Introducing Connie Zach and Sunlighten 06:51 – The infrared spectrum: four wavelengths, four different effects 10:40 – Near infrared vs. red light: what actually penetrates the deepest 16:05 – Connie's origin story: her brother's healing from mercury poisoning 18:27 – Cardiovascular research that changed Connie's path out of pharma 20:23 – Infrared as passive cardiovascular conditioning 21:41 – Waon therapy in Japan and the 50% hospitalization reduction 24:15 – The elderly exercise capacity study 27:36 – Emily on circulation, stagnation, and disease 35:00 – Deathbed slideshow: the transformation stories 37:22 – Leanne Rimes: "happiness in a box" 41:10 – Dr. Jeff Spencer and the Sunlighten Solo 44:57 – What changes when a billion people use heat and light About Connie Zach Connie Zach is the co-founder of Sunlighten, a precision infrared sauna company with over 25 years of research-backed innovation. That exhaustion that lingers months — even years — after treatment ends has a name: cancer-related fatigue. And for too long, survivors were simply told to live with it. This week, Jen sits down with Dr. Jessa Landmann, a naturopathic doctor and integrative oncology specialist in Calgary who works right alongside oncology teams to support the whole person. Her brand-new book, Beyond Cancer Fatigue: A Path to Reclaiming Energy, is the first resource devoted entirely to this overlooked struggle — and it's packed with evidence-based, do-it-today tools. Jen and Dr. Jessa get into why fatigue lingers long after the bell is rung, the surprising link between estrogen loss and brain fog in breast cancer survivors, and why healing is an active process, not a waiting game. In this episode: What a naturopathic doctor actually does — and how integrative care fills the gap conventional oncology doesn't have time for Why acupuncture is one of the most researched complementary therapies for pain The one supplement endorsed by ASCO for fatigue (hint: it's an adaptogen) The shocking stat on muscle loss after chemo — and why creatine, HMB, and resistance training matter Cutting through nutrition confusion: why carbs aren't the enemy and under-eating backfires The truth about motivation: action comes first, motivation follows Dr. Jessa's "movement menu," starting with the Barely There list for your lowest-energy days How estrogen loss drives brain fog, weight changes, and disrupted sleep What caregivers need to understand about invisible fatigue Healing the physical, emotional, and spiritual — and giving yourself grace along the way About the guest: Dr. Jessa Landmann is a naturopathic doctor and integrative oncology specialist based in Calgary, with nearly 15 years supporting people through cancer. Step into a deeply joyous, expansive, soul-awakening, and paradigm-shifting conversation with Kurtis Lee Thomas, bestselling author, founder of Breathwork Detox, and one of the world's leading corporate mindfulness trainers, on this episode of Intimate Conversations: Dark Night to Divine Light. Known by many as "Man From The Stars," Kurtis bridges science, spirituality, nervous system healing, and consciousness work in a way that is both profoundly grounded and wildly transformative. Kurtis shares the extraordinary journey that awakened him to the multidimensional nature of reality, beginning with the tragic murder of his brother and the shocking experience of connecting with him through a psychic medium. What began as skepticism quickly became a complete unraveling of everything he thought he knew about life, death, spirit, intuition, and human potential. That experience ignited an insatiable curiosity that led him into years of spiritual study, shamanic training, meditation, breathwork, and deep exploration of consciousness. We explore how Kurtis became a bridge between worlds, bringing ancient healing practices like breathwork into highly analytical spaces like NASA, Fortune 500 companies, elite athletics, and corporate leadership. He explains how breathwork creates immediate and undeniable shifts in the nervous system, helping people release trauma stored in the body, regulate anxiety, access clarity, and reconnect with deeper parts of themselves beyond the thinking mind. Kurtis opens up vulnerably about his own years-long health crisis that no doctor could diagnose, and how one powerful breathwork session completely eradicated the energetic and emotional root of what his body had been carrying. Together, we dive into the profound connection between trauma, stored emotion, the subconscious mind, hypervigilance, dissociation, and the body's deep longing for safety, presence, and release. We also talk about: Spirit guides, synchronicity, and multidimensional awareness Healing grief and connecting with loved ones beyond the veil Breathwork as humanity's original medicine Anxiety, nervous system dysregulation, and emotional suppression The difference between intellectual awareness and embodied healing Why breathwork creates rapid emotional and energetic release Flow states, altered consciousness, and accessing the subconscious mind Masculinity, emotional expression, and giving men permission to feel Shadow work, soul embodiment, and learning to love all parts of ourselves Parenting, fatherhood, and raising conscious children Dream recall, intuition, and strengthening the bridge to the subconscious The global awakening currently unfolding on the planet This episode is a reminder that healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about releasing what was never yours to hang onto, softening the armor, and remembering the vast intelligence already living within your body, breath, and soul. Kurtis invites us to stop running from ourselves, trust the wisdom beneath the pain, and reconnect with the deeper truth of who we are. What if the key to spiritual growth isn't finding your true self, but becoming many selves at once? In this episode, Michaela explores the concept of self-complexity and how developing multiple dimensions of identity may expand your capacity to communicate with spirit, strengthen manifestation practices, and navigate profound ego deaths without losing your center. Have you seen videos of people experiencing a dramatic emotional release and wondered, "Do I need that to heal?" The conversation around trauma, somatic healing, and nervous system regulation has exploded in recent years. Many point to the bestselling book The Body Keeps the Score and the idea that trauma is stored in the body. Others argue that trauma isn't stored in the body at all, but rather in the brain's predictive patterns and responses. So what's true? In this episode, Alisa explores this important conversation through both science and Scripture, examining where biology and theology meet. Together we'll consider what trauma does to the brain and body, why healing requires more than information alone, and how God's design for our minds and bodies points us toward lasting freedom. You'll discover: What somatic release is The difference between trauma being "stored" in the body versus encoded in the brain How trauma can impact our ability to shift from fear, anxiety, and hypervigilance into peace and safety Why tending to the body can help us tend to the mind What Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 10:5 teach us about renewing our minds Why healing happens in connection, not isolation How the compassion of Christ invites us into true restoration Alisa also unpacks Jesus' encounter with the man at the pool in John 5, asking a powerful question: Do we truly want to be healed, even when healing requires discomfort, surrender, and change? Practical Ways to Participate in Healing Get close to Jesus Spend time in God's Word until your heart is awakened to His truth and love. Stay connected to God's people Healing happens in relationships with people who embody the love and truth of Christ. Practice daily sacrifice Learn to become comfortable with healthy discomfort. These practices are more than spiritual disciplines—they are psycho-neuro-biological pathways that help align our minds, bodies, and spirits with God's design for wholeness. Scriptures Referenced Romans 12:2 2 Corinthians 10:5 John 5:1-15 Resources Mentioned The Body Keeps the Score by Bessel van der Kolk Kotler S, Mannino M, Fox G and Friston K (2026) The body does not keep the score: trauma, predictive coding, and the restoration of metastability. Fourteen hours of excruciating pain, a hospital emergency room, and a curtain separating her from another patient's groaning and complaints — and then, just as the medicine began to kick in, a quiet and unsettling invitation in Kelly Balarie's mind: doesn't it feel good to be taken care of? Doesn't it feel nice to finally get the attention and compassion you've been needing? In this raw and spiritually perceptive episode, Kelly describes the moment she recognized that voice for exactly what it was — and refused to sign the contract it was offering. The paralytic man in John 5 had been lying on his mat for thirty-eight years. He had reasons, excuses, and circumstances that seemed to justify staying exactly where he was. But Jesus did not coddle his pain or validate his helplessness. He simply said: get up, pick up your mat, and walk. Kelly draws a clear and challenging parallel between that man's mat and the mat of self-pity we can each find ourselves lying on — sometimes without even realizing it. Pain is real, need is real, and suffering deserves compassion. But there is a difference between receiving care and making a home in helplessness. The invitation from Jesus is always the same: rise up. Take a step. Walk. Bible Verse "Then Jesus said to him, 'Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.'"— John 5:8, NIV Ponder Today Self-pity can masquerade as a need for compassion. The enemy is not above using real pain and real vulnerability to lure us into a posture of ongoing helplessness. Recognizing the difference between genuine need and self-pity is a spiritually important act. Looking to people for what only God can provide will always leave us empty. When we seek from others the validation, attention, and care that only God can truly give, we set ourselves up for deeper disappointment and deeper need. Pain is often healed as we take a new step. Healing rarely comes in full before we are asked to move. Like the paralytic who rose and walked, sometimes obedience to the command precedes the complete restoration we are longing for. Reject the enemy's contracts early. The invitation to stay down, stay sick, and stay sorry for yourself is subtle and can feel reasonable in a moment of vulnerability. Identify it, name it, and refuse it — just as Kelly did in that hospital room. A Prayer for You Today Father, help us when we feel down and out — when it seems like there is no way forward. Show us Your way instead. May we rise up according to Your strength and not our own. Help us not to look to people for what only You can truly provide. May we be strong in the power of Your might, and may we have the courage to pick up our mats and walk. In Jesus' name, Amen. What if the goal isn't just living longer, but feeling vital the whole way through? Peptides have jumped from the fringe to the mainstream, and most of what you'll find online comes from dubiously credentialed sources. In this episode, Jeff sits down with Dr. Aleksandra Gajer, an emergency medicine physician who spent a decade in the ER before founding The Gajer Practice and moving into longevity and regenerative medicine. They unpack what peptides really are and how to think clearly about a fast-moving, lightly regulated space. The conversation covers: What peptides actually are, and why insulin and GLP-1s belong to the same family BPC-157 and TB-500 for healing tendons, ligaments, and stubborn injuries Growth hormone-promoting peptides like sermorelin and tesamorelin for muscle and body composition The gray market, compounding pharmacies, and the FDA's shifting rules Cancer risks, contraindications, and who should be cautious This episode is for anyone curious about peptide therapy, longevity, and healing who wants grounded information instead of internet hype. Most of us are doing all the things — and still not feeling vital and energized. This episode might reveal the missing piece… In this week's episode, I sit down with Connie Zack, co-founder of Sunlighten Saunas, and her story alone is worth pressing play for. It starts with someone she loves, a health crisis that wouldn't budge, and a discovery that quietly changed the direction of her life. We get into what infrared light actually is — and why it's so much more than just a hot room. We cover how it works at the cellular level, and what that actually means for detox, circulation, and the kind of deep rest most of us aren't getting. We also had a really honest conversation about the nervous system — why you genuinely cannot heal when you're stuck in fight-or-flight, and what it actually takes to come back into regulation. It's not about adding another step to your wellness routine. It's about understanding what your body needs to do what it is innately designed to do... to heal. If you feel like you've been running on empty and can't quite figure out why… I think this conversation is going to open something up for you. If you follow me on Instagram, you know how obsessed I am with my infrared sauna. It's my mini oasis where I go to replenish and reflect. If you'd like to learn more or create your own sauna tailored to your needs, visit Sunlighten.com/healwithkelly to receive a personalized quote. Infrared saunas can be pricey — so it's a great time to remind you that the sun is the most abundant and free source of infrared light. Spending 10–15 minutes outdoors in the morning or late afternoon will also give you a healthy dose of rich spectrum near-infrared rays. The world is coming together and the New York Mets are coming apart. On Overpromised Episode 145, Covino and Rich make the case that the World Cup is healing the world, from Norway fans rowing in the Citi Field outfield and Scottish fans draining Fenway to Mexico taking over Los Angeles and Japanese fans falling in love with Texas brisket. Then they flip the script on their own team, arguing the Mets just hit the lowest point in franchise history after six errors and a home crowd that cheered against Devin Williams. Along the way: a Brazilian psychic's alien invasion prediction, Joey Chestnut going for hot dog title number 18, and the only acceptable rule for wedding and birthday gifts. If your body already has powerful systems designed to repair and protect you, are your daily habits helping switch them on... or working against them?Dr. Valter Longo is a professor and director of the Longevity Institute at USC, one of the world's leading researchers on aging, nutrition, and lifespan, and the author of The Longevity Diet and his latest book, Fasting Cancer. His path into this work is an unusual one. He started as a jazz performance major, chasing rock guitar, and walked away the moment they told him he had to direct a marching band. What pulled him toward aging traces back to being five years old, in the room when his grandfather died, and a question that lodged in him and never left: what if little things can make such a big difference? That question became a career. Longo walks Dr. Michael Gervais through the science of living to 110, a number drawn from two real people he followed personally, and the trade-off at the heart of aging: the body can pour its energy into growth and reproduction, or into protection and repair, but not both at once. From there he challenges one of the loudest narratives in health and performance today, the push for high protein, laying out why he believes most people are eating far more than the research supports, and what a safer balance actually looks like. The conversation moves into the work Longo is best known for: fasting-mimicking diets, why he says fasting on its own doesn't mean anything, and how cycles of eating less may activate the body's own repair and regeneration. He and Mike explore what this could mean for cancer, where Longo is careful and precise about what the science does and doesn't yet show, and they close on what it takes to unlearn a foundational belief when the evidence stops holding up. Mike opens up about how this conversation pushed against a narrative he'd carried his whole life, and why he wanted to have it anyway. In this conversation, we explore:Why aging and cancer are deeply connected, and what that means for preventionThe trade-off between growth and protection that shapes how we ageWhy Longo believes most people eat far too much proteinWhat a safer, mostly plant-based protein balance looks likeWhy fasting on its own is a meaningless word, and what to do insteadHow fasting-mimicking cycles may trigger the body's repair and regenerationWhat the science does and doesn't yet show about food and cancerWhat it takes to unlearn a belief when the evidence stops holding upIf you've ever wondered whether your daily choices are quietly helping or hurting the systems meant to keep you well, this conversation offers a science-backed place to start thinking about your health and lifestyle.A note from the team: This episode doesn't exist in a vacuum. Over the last several months, Mike has had numerous conversations on health, nutrition with world-renowned experts like Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, Dr. Jason Fung, and Dr. Tim Spector, among others. These are all rich conversations that at times hold conflicting advice and guidance. We encourage you to listen to all of them, and as always, consult your doctor on what practices are best for you. Health, nutrition, and longevity are all deeply intertwined with living a life of full potential, and we're committed to having these great conversations with world experts on these subjects. The Tyler Robinson trial for Charlie Kirk's assassination is a rigged charade from start to finish. No cameras. No audio recording. Judge Tony Graf green-lit “reliable hearsay” from Lance Twigs — the trans furry partner and roommate who supposedly heard the confession — while denying the defense the right to subpoena him for cross-examination. The Epstein class has been raping, trafficking, torturing, and sacrificing children for decades while our captured government hides the files and protects the monsters. Tonight, Epstein survivor Hope Beryl Greene joins me to drop the bare truth about the horrors that took place on Little St. James. Hope Beryl-Green joins Stew Peters 6/23 to share her story of survival, healing, and advocacy for victims who have suffered in silence.
