Here are AI notes: This emergency Dopey episode is Dave and Kevin McEnroe going full Knicks sicko mode on the day of Game 1 of the NBA Finals. They talk about Addicted to the Knicks, the idea of “KA,” Knicks fandom as church, childhood obsession, superstition, dads, recovery, and why caring about the Knicks feels weirdly connected to getting sober. Kevin talks about being hooked on the Knicks before drugs, his first brutal Knicks memory — leaving the Garden early and hearing Reggie Miller's eight points in nine seconds from a cab — and how addiction made him lose interest in everything, including basketball. Dave tells his legendary story of sneaking into Madison Square Garden during a Knicks/Bulls playoff game through a Calypso festival and a stoner kid in concessions. They hit Anthony Mason, John Starks, Patrick Ewing, Knicks Tape, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Brunson, KAT, Wemby, Mitchell Robinson, Tibbs, Mike Brown, and the insane feeling of New York City actually coming together around the Knicks.         Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Kevin Cohee.Title: Owner, Chairman & CEO of OneUnited BankHost: Rushion McDonaldPodcast: Money Making Conversations Masterclass Kevin Cohee discusses the mission, history, and future of OneUnited Bank, the largest Black‑owned bank and the first Black‑owned internet bank in the U.S. The conversation connects Black economic history, financial literacy, technology (AI), and wealth-building, positioning OneUnited Bank as a modern solution to long‑standing financial exclusion in Black and underserved communities. Purpose of the Interview The interview is designed to: Educate listeners on why Black-owned banks matter historically and economically. Explain how technology has transformed banking, making location irrelevant. Address financial exclusion, particularly reliance on check-cashing services. Promote financial literacy as the foundation of wealth creation. Position OneUnited Bank as a practical, accessible tool for individuals, entrepreneurs, and communities to build equity. Key Themes & Takeaways 1. A Mission Rooted in Black History Kevin Cohee frames OneUnited Bank as part of a long historical vision, not a modern trend. Leaders such as Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all advocated for a national Black-owned bank. Cohee’s own family legacy ties back to Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, including land ownership stemming from negotiated “40 acres and a mule” outcomes. Takeaway: Economic independence has always been central to Black progress. 2. From Brick-and-Mortar to Digital Banking OneUnited originally grew by acquiring small Black-owned banks nationwide. The bank pivoted early toward technology-driven banking, recognizing that: Customers expect 24/7 access Physical branches are no longer required Digital reach enables national—and global—impact Key insight: Technology allowed OneUnited to become a national Black bank without national branches. 3. Financial Technology Built for Real-Life Problems Kevin Cohee emphasizes that OneUnited designs products around how people actually live, not just traditional banking norms. Examples include: Second-chance checking accounts Emergency small-dollar loans Alternative credit criteria Nationwide surcharge-free ATM access AI-powered tools that help users understand: Cash flow Assets vs. liabilities Net worth (or debt) Financial decision-making in real time Takeaway: Banking should help people function—not punish them for past mistakes. 4. Financial Literacy Is the Real Wealth Gap Cohee states that 90% of Americans are financially illiterate, largely because: Financial literacy is not taught in K–12 education He compares this to not teaching reading—and then blaming people for illiteracy. OneUnited uses AI and data aggregation to help customers make expert-level decisions without being experts. Key message: Financial literacy, not income alone, determines long-term wealth. 5. Ending Dependence on Check-Cashing Services Kevin sharply criticizes high-fee check-cashing businesses that dominate underserved neighborhoods. OneUnited offers digital check deposits, debit cards, and ATM access—removing the need for physical branches. Anyone, anywhere in the U.S., can bank with OneUnited via oneunited.com. Takeaway: Lack of access is no longer an excuse—awareness is the missing link. 6. Technology as the New “40 Acres” Kevin draws a powerful parallel: Land ownership was once the primary source of wealth. Technology and financial literacy are today’s equivalents. Entrepreneurs no longer need to manufacture products—branding, distribution, and digital reach are the new leverage. Key insight: Technology levels the playing field—if people understand how to use it. 7. Mandatory Financial Literacy as a Policy Solution Kevin advocates for required financial literacy courses in all U.S. schools. He cites research showing: One required high-school financial literacy course can generate $100,000+ in lifetime net worth per student. He frames this as a matter of equity, not preference. Takeaway: Systemic problems require systemic solutions. Notable Quotes “The concept of a national Black-owned bank goes all the way back to slavery.” “We’re not behind in technology—we are the party.” “Ninety percent of Americans are not financially literate.” “You don’t have to go to check cashers and get ripped off.” “Technology is the new 40 acres.” “Financial literacy alone can generate over $100,000 in net worth per person.” “There has never been a better time to build a business than right now.” Overall Impact This interview is both a financial masterclass and a historical lesson. Kevin Cohee reframes banking as a tool of empowerment, not just transactions, and positions OneUnited Bank as: A modern solution to historic exclusion A technology-first institution built for underserved communities A catalyst for financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and wealth creation Final message: Access + education + technology can finally close the racial wealth gap—if people choose to engage. #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bobby and Wally kick off this episode by posing a tough question to all pilots: could you handle an emergency tonight? They stress that you don't rise to the occasion but fall to the level of your training, sharing examples of how complacency creeps in during checkrides and real flights. The hosts dive into memory items every pilot should know cold, like engine fire during start procedures, glide speeds, and oil pressure emergencies, while advocating for scenario-based training and chair flying to build reflexive habits. They explore real-world case studies, including a pilot in Australia who executed a calm gear-up landing after hours of troubleshooting and fuel burn-off. Wally recounts a medical emergency on a 737 where staying calm and breathing first made all the difference. The conversation turns to proactive strategies for night flying, such as following freeways, flying higher for more options, and using tools like ForeFlight's emergency glide mode to improve odds during engine failures or electrical issues. In the lightning round, they challenge listeners with scenarios like engine roughness at night over a city, comms failure into Class C airspace, and night VFR with lowering ceilings. The takeaway is clear: build habits through deliberate practice with instructors or solo, know your airplane's POH inside out, and prepare your brain for the day you hope never comes so you can fly safely and confidently anytime.

MIND stands for Mastering Internal Negativity during Difficulty. This series emphasizes productivity, provider performance, and team optimization to ensure we are at our best during high-pressure situations. In this episode, host Dr. Mark Ramzy chats with special guests and master educators about the concept of human factors.Dr. Chris Hicks is an emergency physician and trauma team leader at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto, and co-founder of Advanced Performance Healthcare Design, a physician-led simulation and design group. Dr. Andrew Petrosoniak is an emergency physician and trauma team leader at St. Michael’s Hospital, and Medical Director of the Unity Health Toronto Simulation Program. He’s an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto where his research focuses on simulation for systems and design improvement and optimizing the care of the bleeding patient. Along with Dr. Hicks, he’s also President of Advanced Performance Healthcare Design, a consulting firm that works with high-performance teams and uses simulation to enhance and design better healthcare spaces Cognitive Question How can the integration of human factors improve decision-making and performance in emergency medicine and critical care environments? ️What are Human Factors? In the context of healthcare, human factors encompass the interplay between humans, the systems they work within, and the effectiveness of their interactions. It includes elements like communication, system design, environmental conditions, and behavioral patterns affecting individual and team decision-making processes. It’s the collective impact of individual behaviors, team dynamics, and the physical environment on performance and outcomes. The aim is to eliminate issues arising from human error by creating systems and environments that naturally guide and support optimal performance. 🏥How This Applies to the Emergency Department or ICU? Efficient integration of human factors in high-pressure settings like the Emergency Department (ED) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) helps mitigate the risks associated with stressful and chaotic environments. By focusing on system designs that account for human behavior, healthcare professionals can reduce errors, enhance team coordination, and ultimately improve patient care. This is crucial as teams are often required to make rapid, life-saving decisions in these environmentsThe design of clinical spaces can either hinder or help efficient care. Poorly arranged equipment or cluttered workspaces increase stress and impede decision-making. Implementing structured design principles, such as dedicated equipment zones and clear visual cues, can streamline workflows and enhance team coordinationIt actually helps pave the way for more efficiency because you end up “working smarter instead of harder”.It speaks directly to the Daniel Kahneman’s theory of Type 2 Thinking – which is a slow, analytical cognitive process requiring deliberate thoughtWe’ll likely create a whole dedicated episode to this but if you want to read more ahead of time on it, check out his book Thinking, Fast and Slow ⏩Immediate Action Steps for Your Next Shift **Assess Your Environment**: Take note of any clutter, noise, or layout issues in your workspace that could hinder optimal performance. Identify problem areas that could be optimized.**Recognizable Hard-Stop** – Implement a “Stop-Point” Check for areas or issues that involve more than just patient safety (ie. workflow inefficiencies, sign-out, throughput, etc). Use predefined benchmarks during procedures to ensure clarity and efficiency.**Foster Open Communication** – Encourage an environment where every team member feels comfortable discussing their thoughts and decisions without fear of judgment.**Prototype Solutions** – Work with colleagues to identify problems and brainstorm quick, cost-effective solutions that could be tested in your department.**Role Clarity and Preparation** – Ensure roles are clearly defined and team members are prepared with necessary resources readily available during high-stakes scenarios.**Test and Refine** – Conduct quick pilot tests of new setups or processes during quieter times and gather feedback from your team. Conclusion Human factors play a critical role in shaping healthcare outcomes. Through structured system designs and attention to team dynamics, it is possible to reduce inefficiencies and enhance both patient care and provider well-being. It requires a shift in perspective from seeing design and systems as separate from human behaviors, to seeing them as intricately linked. By incorporating these principles, healthcare professionals can create environments that inherently support better, safer, and more effective patient care. 🚨 Clinical Bottom Line Incorporating human factors into healthcare isn’t just about preventing errors—it’s about creating an ecosystem where the healthcare team is empowered to perform at their best, even under the most challenging conditions. Implementing small, iterative changes can create a meaningful impact, paving the way for improved systems and processes. This starts by redesigning systems and environments with human factors in mind, which can significantly improve both the efficiency of care delivery and the safety of the healthcare environment. We are once again asking the 9-1-1 writers' room to be brave. Be bold. Be intentional. In this Fandom on the Rocks bonus episode, we're looking ahead to Season 10 of 9-1-1 and laying out our very reasonable, completely measured, not-at-all-unhinged wishlist for what we want from the next season. Some of these wishes are mild-mannered expectations. Some are pipe dreams. Some are pure crack. All of them are delivered with love, frustration, and the deep spiritual exhaustion of two people who are, frankly, tired Grandpa. An incomplete list (you have to listen to the episode for the full experience, obviously):Buddie canon, obviously — but as a choice, not a crisis. No more near-death experiences as romantic shortcuts. We want Buck and Eddie to choose each other because they have already built the life, the family, the trust, and the deeply suspicious platonic marriage. The bottle episode agenda — two couches, a kitchen table, the firehouse, and people actually talking to each other. CPR recertification? Station inspection? Power outage? We don't care. Lock them in and let the character work happen.A wildfire that actually means something — Los Angeles is their home. Let the big disaster be about the community they serve, not just another round of “how can we almost kill the 118 this time?” Also, yes, burn down South Bedford and make Eddie move in with Buck. We said what we said.Group hang for joy — not a funeral, not a wedding, not a hospital, not a crisis. Give us a barbecue, a beach day, a game night, karaoke, softball, something. This show talks about found family all the time. Let us actually see the family.Emergency lightning round — influencer immersive experience gone wrong, wellness retreat horrors, science fair explosions, cruise ship dock chaos, revisiting elevator trauma with consequences, and a CPR training cold open where everyone roasts each other's compression technique. Because silly emergencies are fun. And, because we are us, we also discuss crop tops (obviously), drag brunch, Christopher needing an actual storyline, May and Ravi's developing romance, Maddie and Chimney in their leadership roles, Eddie Diaz as a queer-coded man written so loudly we are all begging the show to notice, and why Season 10 desperately needs one thing above all else: Intentionality.Show us the storyboard. Show us the wall. Know where these characters are going when you start writing. Let big things mean something. Let the emotional arcs actually arc. We are paying adult money to watch this show. Give us the goods. As always, we complain because we love this show. We want 9-1-1 to be the best version of itself, and we want Season 10 to remember that the show is strongest when the emergencies are wild, the characters are grounded, and the found family actually feels like a family.Drop your Season 10 wishlist in the comments. What are you manifesting? What are you begging for? And how many crop tops is too many crop tops? Trick question. The limit does not exist.xoxo,Fandom on the Rocks

On today's episode we discuss Cold War liberalism with historian Daniel Bessner. In the mid-twentieth century, Cold War liberalism exerted a profound influence on the US state, US foreign policy, and liberal thought across the North Atlantic world. The ideology transformed politics, society, and culture writ large. From impacting US foreign policy in the Middle East, to influencing the ideological contours of industrial society, to shaping the urban landscape of Los Angeles, Cold War liberalism left an indelible mark on modern history.During the Cold War and through the US-led post-Cold War “unipolar” moment, Cold War liberalism and Neo-conservativism guided a messianic US foreign policy. In post-Soviet countries like Georgia and beyond these ideologies would have profound influence, the remnants, contradictions and consequences of which we can still see today.Daniel Bessner is an Associate Professor in American foreign policy at the University of Washington. He co-hosts the podcast American Prestige and has published pieces in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The New Republic, The Nation, n+1, and other venues. We'll discuss: • What vitamin K does in the body • Why newborns are uniquely vulnerable to VKDB • The difference between the vitamin K shot and vaccines • Risks of declining the injection • What the medical evidence and decades of research show about safety • Common questions parents ask before delivery Our goal is not fear — it's facts. The federal prosecution of Timothy Hudson for the first-degree murder of his stepsister Anna Kepner is proceeding in the Southern District of Florida, where Hudson has pleaded not guilty and awaits trial. But in a Brevard County family court, a parallel custody battle between Hudson's biological parents is producing a record that illuminates the family dynamics behind the criminal case. Thomas Hudson, Timothy's biological father, filed for emergency sole custody of the couple's nine-year-old daughter, alleging that the Kepner household — where Shauntel Hudson and Christopher Kepner reside — expelled Timothy immediately after Anna's death and has publicly called for punitive outcomes. Court filings include text exchanges in which Thomas alleges Shauntel told him she could not jeopardize her marriage to support their son. The filings also allege that Kepner family social media called for “nails in the coffin” of the accused, and that Shauntel aligned with those statements. Psychotherapist Shavaun Scott, with more than thirty years in forensic mental health practice, joins True Crime Today to examine the psychological and relational dimensions of this family's collapse. Scott addresses the clinical dynamics of parental abandonment under crisis conditions, the psychological impact on a juvenile defendant whose primary caregiver has publicly aligned against him, and the implications for a minor child being raised in a household where loyalty to one family member requires the explicit rejection of another. She also examines whether Shauntel's position reflects an independent psychological process or one shaped by the conditions of her current marriage.Footer Links:Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The Israeli Knesset is currently advancing a bill that looks to the world a lot like annexation of the West Bank, but what in reality, is simply a desperate attempt to save thousands of historical and archaeological heritage sites in Judea and Samaria, or what could also be known as - the Bible Belt of the Middle East.  For years, the Palestinian Authority has been covertly working to destroy heritage sites in this region, and since the world's attention has been centered around the implementation of the two-state solution, and Israel has been largely occupied with defending themselves and stopping terrorism, these all too important sites have been largely overlooked and forgotten.  As an American Christian Zionist living in the heart of Judea and Samaria, I have not only had an up close view of this secret war, but our team has even been involved in helping to preserve some of these locations. We even went so far as to fly our drone to one of the most significant sites in Samaria every single day, just to make sure it was not being bulldozed by the Palestinian Authority. #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

#SHMS #STRAW #BESTSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

CISA has ordered U.S. federal civilian agencies to urgently patch an actively exploited critical Drupal SQL injection vulnerability (CVE-2026-9082) affecting PostgreSQL-backed Drupal deployments, after Imperva reported more than 15,000 attack attempts across 65 countries. Microsoft has confirmed a strange Windows Server 2016 update issue where KB5087537 can break domain controller discovery when server hostnames are exactly 15 characters long, raising more questions about patch reliability as update complexity grows. Google has joined a coalition opposing Canada's proposed lawful access legislation, Bill C-22, warning that secret ministerial orders, possible encryption risks, and mandatory metadata retention could weaken security rather than improve it. Critics point to the Salt Typhoon telecom espionage campaign as evidence that lawful intercept systems themselves can become prime targets. Also in this episode: Check Point says Iran-linked threat group Nimbus Manticore has deployed new malware tools including MiniFast and MiniJunk V2, with researchers noting signs that MiniFast may have been developed with AI-assisted coding techniques. The Trump Administration has made little secret of its desire to dismantle the Federal Emergency Management Agency and give states the responsibility to respond to all manner of natural disasters on their own. FEMA has endured tremendous internal strife over leadership, and reports have suggested its mission has been compromised by partisan decision-making: President Trump—the sole arbiter of who ultimately gets FEMA relief—has rejected aid for Democratic-led states at the highest rate in the agency's history.  This has led to accusations of emergency aid being used as a “political cudgel,” and has had a chilling effect on some of the rank-and-file staff at the agency. The New Yorker Radio Hour's Adam Howard speaks to a longtime employee of FEMA about what's going on behind the scenes, and whether it could have a negative impact on the agency's ability to respond to the next emergency.  The subject of this interview is currently working for FEMA, a federal agency, and he asked to remain anonymous. What if the exhaustion, tension, overthinking, digestive symptoms, inflammation, sleep disruption, and constant feeling of being "on" are not personality flaws… …but nervous system adaptations?   In this episode of the EASE OS™ Podcast, Dr. Connie Cheung explores the physiology of chronic sympathetic dominance — the state many people unknowingly live in when the body remains organized around protection long after stress has become normalized.   This episode unpacks how chronic stress physiology affects: ➣ nervous system regulation ➣ gut health and digestion ➣ sleep quality ➣ inflammation ➣ hormonal balance ➣ muscle tension and postural patterns ➣ emotional resilience ➣ breathing mechanics ➣ behavior and identity patterns   Through real clinical stories, Dr. Connie explains why many people are "doing everything right" — yoga, healthy eating, supplements, hormone therapy, exercise — yet still feel exhausted, inflamed, disconnected from their body, or unable to fully recover.   You'll hear: ➣ Why the nervous system adapts to repeated stress conditions ➣ How chronic sympathetic activation becomes normalized ➣ Why hypervigilance and overthinking can feel like personality ➣ The connection between stress physiology and digestive dysfunction ➣ Why many symptoms make more sense when viewed through an integrated systems lens ➣ How chronic bracing patterns affect posture, movement, breathing, and pain ➣ Why healing often feels fragmented in modern healthcare ➣ The relationship between the autonomic nervous system regulation and long-term healing ➣ How yoga can become either regulation… or another expression of sympathetic dominance ➣ Why awareness changes the relationship we have with symptoms   Dr. Connie also shares: ➣ a clinical case involving chronic low back pain during yoga and hidden nervous system overload ➣ a patient with plantar fasciitis whose symptoms reflected broader stress physiology and chronic tension patterns ➣ How the body organizes around protection when stress becomes a baseline state   This episode is part of the EASE OS™ framework: Enteric · Autonomic · Somatic · Empowered Psychology   The Autonomic pillar focuses on nervous system regulation, sympathetic dominance, stress adaptation, and restoring physiological safety so the body can begin moving from survival physiology into recovery physiology.   In This Episode: ➣ Chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation ➣ Sympathetic vs parasympathetic nervous system ➣ Fight-or-flight physiology ➣ Stress hormones and cortisol ➣ Functional medicine perspective on chronic stress ➣ Somatic holding patterns and muscle guarding ➣ Mind-body connection and chronic tension ➣ Gut-brain axis and autonomic regulation ➣ Breathwork for nervous system regulation ➣ Yoga and nervous system awareness ➣ Hypervigilance and chronic anticipation ➣ Fatigue, inflammation, digestion, and stress physiology ➣ Integrated systems interpretation in healing   Practical Exercise From This Episode 5-5-5-5 Box Breathing Use before meals, stressful conversations, or sleep. ➣ Inhale through the nose for 5 counts ➣ Hold for 5 counts ➣ Exhale slowly for 5 counts ➣ Hold empty for 5 counts ➣ Repeat 3 rounds   This breathing practice helps stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and supports vagal regulation.   Key Takeaways ➣ The body adapts to repeated conditions ➣ Chronic stress physiology often becomes normalized ➣ Repeated states can eventually become traits ➣ Symptoms are often adaptive information, not personal failure ➣ The nervous system influences digestion, hormones, inflammation, sleep, movement, and emotional regulation ➣ Healing requires more than isolated protocols — the organism must be understood as an integrated system   Resources & Links

The president has proposed a new leader for the Federal Emergency Management Agency. On this week's On the Media, a reckoning with the future of FEMA, and an interview with Trump's nominee to lead the agency. Plus, a FEMA worker starts an anonymous newsletter to share how cuts are hurting the agency. [01:56]  Micah Loewinger brings us the final installment of OTM's miniseries American Emergency: The Movement to Kill FEMA. Micah interviews Cameron Hamilton, an unqualified MAGA warrior brought in to take the agency down last year. When he refused to kill FEMA point blank, he was fired. Hamilton shares what it was like to work at FEMA under Kristi Noem. Earlier this month, Hamilton was nominated by the president to lead the agency – despite his lack of experience.  [21:08] Micah interviews an anonymous FEMA worker who started a newsletter amid the chaos of Kristi Noem's leadership at DHS. The goal of the online publication, called Alt-FEMA, was to get the truth out about the agency's capacity — at a time when it was bleeding staff and experience. Its stated mission is to record “what is being dismantled: institutional knowledge, coordination capacity, and the ability to serve communities in crisis.” [31:21] Micah explores the future of FEMA, and the administration's plans to reduce the role of the agency in responding to disasters. We hear from a veteran FEMA staffer, MaryAnn Tierney, and a climate beat reporter at Grist, Jake Bittle, who wrestled with the proposed reforms. Micah also speaks to the Director of Emergency Management in Vermont, Eric Forand, and an emergency manager of a tribal nation on the West Coast about how diminished federal disaster funding could hurt their communities.
