On this episode of The Brad Jensen Show, I sat down with Joe Sheehey, owner and founder of Cured Nutrition, to talk about something that could massively impact the hemp and wellness space heading into late 2026. We broke down the new hemp ban set to go into effect in November 2026. This was quietly slipped into the "Big Beautiful Bill" and, if nothing changes, it has the potential to wipe out roughly 95% of the hemp industry as it currently stands. Joe shared what this could mean not only for businesses like his, but for consumers who rely on responsibly dosed hemp derived products for sleep, stress management, and overall wellbeing. We also had an honest conversation about responsibility inside the industry. Not all companies have operated with integrity. Some pushed extremely high THC doses chasing profit, which ultimately put the entire industry at risk. We contrasted that with companies like Cured, who have always focused on very low, fractional microdose levels of THC paired with high quality CBD to create therapeutic benefit without pushing boundaries that create harm. Joe shared what listeners can actually do if they care about protecting access to responsibly made hemp products. From staying informed, to contacting legislators, to supporting companies who operate ethically, there are ways for everyday people to make a difference. One of the most powerful parts of this conversation was hearing Joe talk about what this season has taught him personally. Facing the potential loss of a business he has spent the last decade building has forced him into deeper reflection, deeper faith, and a stronger connection to God. Instead of reacting from fear, he talked about choosing clarity, purpose, and trust in the lessons being revealed through this challenge. This is a conversation about business, responsibility, resilience, and what it really looks like to stay grounded when everything you've built feels like it's on the line. If you care about wellness, ethical supplementation, or simply hearing how high level entrepreneurs navigate real adversity, this is an episode you don't want to miss. What if the words we speak over our kids aren't just communication, but are actually creation? In this episode of Facing in the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy tackle a new claim from psychologist Dr. Chelsea Haug-Zavaleta that children should receive 100 compliments a day to thrive emotionally. Dr. Kathy challenges the research, explaining that it's not about the number of compliments, it's about the ratio of affirmation to correction and the meaning behind our words. She offers practical insights for balancing affirmation with healthy boundaries, showing how kids form identity through the voices they trust most. Together, Wayne and Dr. Kathy unpack what it means to parent fragile and resilient kids, share how correction can build character rather than shame, and connect the science of affirmation to the biblical power of blessing from Genesis 27. This episode reminds us that spoken love forms lasting truth, and that a few sincere words can build what a hundred empty praises never could.

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Lazar Focus. Each Friday, join host diplomatic correspondent Lazar Berman for a deep dive into what's behind the news that spins the globe. American Jews have plenty to fret about. Facing rising antisemitism even before October 7, 2023, the community has had to deal with a massive spike in threats, defamation, and outright violence since the Hamas attack. While Israel was fighting to defeat Hamas and get the hostages home, US Jews were contending with anti-Zionist attacks from both the left and the right. William Daroff, CEO of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, has been a central player in the US Jewish communities' responses to October 7 and the subsequent two years of war. He lays out his explanation for the spike in antisemitism in the US, and argues that with domestic focus on ICE, Israel has an opening to restart reconnecting with Democrats and young Americans. He recounts his conversations with the Biden Administration at the start of the war, and explains why the relationship with Netanyahu became so strained. Turning to the White House, Daroff offers insights into Trump's relationships with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatar. He argues that one should take Trump's threats seriously, both against Hamas if they don't disarm and Iran if they don't concede to US demands. Lazar Focus can be found on all podcast platforms. FreedomPay on The $44.4 Billion Payment Risk Facing Retail And Hospitality

    The Tech Blog Writer Podcast

What really happens to a business when payments stop working, even for a few minutes? I recorded this episode live at Dynatrace Perform in Las Vegas, inside the Venetian, surrounded by engineers, operators, and business leaders all wrestling with the same uncomfortable reality. Payment outages are no longer rare edge cases. They are becoming a routine operational risk, and the cost is far higher than many organizations realize. To unpack that shift, I sat down with Victoria Ruffo, Software Engineering Team Lead at FreedomPay, for a grounded and practical conversation about resilience, observability, and what failure actually looks like in modern commerce. Victoria explains how FreedomPay supports merchants by orchestrating every part of the payment journey through a single platform, from terminal management to remote updates and even on-device advertising. If you have checked into a hotel and noticed a payment terminal quietly branded "Secured By FreedomPay," there is a good chance you have already interacted with her team's work. That real-world exposure gives her a clear view of what happens when systems fail and why customers are far less patient than businesses often assume. We talk about new research from FreedomPay, Dynatrace, and Retail Economics that puts a stark number on the issue. $44.4 billion in U.S. retail and hospitality revenue is at risk every year due to payment disruptions. But as Victoria points out, the most alarming insight is not the headline figure. It is the gap between how long customers are willing to wait and how long outages actually last. Most consumers abandon a purchase after seven minutes, while many disruptions stretch on for hours. In those early minutes alone, the majority of revenue is already gone. The conversation moves beyond statistics into lived experience. From lunch breaks cut short by declined payments to stadiums losing an entire event's worth of revenue in a single outage, Victoria shares why these failures are not abstract technical issues. They directly affect staff wages, customer loyalty, and long-term brand trust. We also explore why cash-only backups and outdated terminals no longer reflect how people actually pay, and why uneven investment in resilience leaves many merchants dangerously exposed. AI plays a central role in the discussion, but not in the way hype cycles often suggest. Victoria is clear that FreedomPay is not using AI to touch cardholder data or write payment code. Instead, tools like Dynatrace Intelligence help teams detect issues faster, identify patterns humans might miss, and move from reaction to anticipation. That shift, she argues, is where real value shows up, especially when seconds and minutes matter. If you care about payments, customer experience, or the hidden connection between technical failure and business impact, this episode offers a timely reminder that outages do not have to be catastrophic if organizations plan for them properly. As consumers grow less patient and systems grow more complex, are your payment platforms designed to absorb disruption, or are they quietly waiting to fail at the worst possible moment? Together, we explore what it means to hold depth psychology and nondual realization in the same field—without collapsing one into the other. The dialogue moves through questions of decolonizing therapy, the subtle dynamics of spiritual bypass, and the kind of deep listening required when working with the unconscious—both personal and collective. Ellen speaks to the body as a threshold into the psyche's wilderness, and to the necessity of staying in relationship with what is unresolved, uncomfortable, and unfinished. Threaded throughout is a concern for the wider world: how collective trauma, ancestral memory, and the current socio-political moment ask to be included in spiritual and therapeutic work—not bypassed. This is a conversation about remembrance, embodiment, and the slow work of integration in times of upheaval. Ellen offers meetings and retreats through The Awakening Body, an experiential exploration rooted in nondual inquiry, Authentic Movement, and direct listening to lived experience. For years, success has been measured by degrees earned, income achieved, titles held, and recognition gained. But what happens when those markers keep shifting, leaving people exhausted and unsatisfied? In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch wrestle with a growing cultural question: If we don't define success for our kids, who will, and will they like where it leads them? Drawing from a recent EdSurge reflection, the conversation explores how achievement based definitions of success often move the goalposts endlessly, leaving even high achievers feeling behind. Dr. Kathy challenges parents to recognize that children are always watching, not just what we say success is, but what we live as if it is. Our calendars, conversations, sacrifices, and celebrations quietly teach our kids what matters most. Rather than anchoring success to prestige or productivity, Dr. Kathy reframes it through a Christ centered lens: identity in Christ, lives marked by abundance rather than accumulation, and purpose expressed through service and sacrifice. Success, she argues, is not about becoming impressive, but about becoming who God created you to be and stewarding that calling with competence and faithfulness. Rooted in the biblical story of Bezalel, the craftsman called and equipped by God, this episode reminds parents that Scripture celebrates faithful skill and obedience far more than status or acclaim. When children are taught that success means living with integrity and purpose before God, they gain clarity in a world eager to define them by outcomes alone. This conversation invites parents to reclaim the definition of success, not as something to chase endlessly, but as a life of abundance and faithful stewardship.

In this powerful episode of the Dead America Podcast, host Ed Watters sits down with Tom Kubiniec, President and CEO of Secure It Tactical, to explore an extraordinary journey of reinvention, innovation, and fearless problem solving. Tom's story begins as a heavy metal guitarist profiled by Guitar Player Magazine in 1984, before chronic tendonitis forced him to walk away from music and rebuild his life from the ground up. What followed was an unlikely path into computer supply sales, hospital laptop security, and eventually a phone call from the FBI asking if he could store an “MP5”—which Tom initially thought was a laptop model. That moment launched him into the world of military weapon storage, despite having no firearms background at the time. By boldly claiming expertise where none existed, Tom spent 18 months surveying every Special Forces armory in America, documenting failures, and becoming the authority he said he was. This episode dives deep into the creation of the patented Cradle Grid system, a revolutionary design using one moving part to replace outdated bracket systems with 88–230 components. Tom also exposes hard truths about gun safe fire ratings, decentralized storage strategies, high stress access failures, and why most safes can be breached in seconds. Listeners will gain insight into: • How innovation is born from questioning everything • Why decentralized weapon storage offers tactical advantages • The myth of fire rated gun safes • Designing systems for fight or flight conditions • Building a company without a college degree or military service • Facing fear through land speed racing and extreme climbing This episode is a masterclass in entrepreneurship, engineering innovation, and resilience, showing how curiosity, courage, and relentless learning can redefine an entire industry. When Good Things Take Over: Setting Wise Limits on Screens

As conversations about banning phones and curbing screen use grow louder, parents are left asking an honest question: Is technology the problem, or are we? In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch explore new legislative efforts around screen limits and use them as a springboard for a much more personal conversation about parenting and formation. Dr. Kathy reframes the issue with clarity and grace: technology itself isn't the enemy, but when it becomes the primary way kids (and adults) cope with boredom or anxiety, something essential is lost. Parents are challenged to look inward first, recognizing that kids will struggle to give up screens if adults aren't willing to do the same. The episode explores why screens often become a refuge for anxious hearts, and why removing them without replacing them leaves kids unprepared to process life well. Rather than advocating for extremes, the conversation centers on coexisting wisely with technology. Parents are encouraged to build alternative rhythms that include quiet, prayer, creativity, play, conversation, and service, so screens aren't the default solution to every uncomfortable moment. Dr. Kathy also offers a clear, realistic vision for a family tech policy: visible alternatives, no devices in bedrooms, strong boundaries, character based decisions, and parents who are confident enough to say no without guilt. Grounded in Jesus' teaching about the Sabbath in Mark 2, the episode reminds families that limits are not punishments; they are gifts. Just as rest was designed to restore humanity, wise tech boundaries protect attention and relationships. When children learn that they are valued apart from constant stimulation or connection, they gain freedom rather than restriction. This episode equips parents to lead with humility and courage, helping technology return to its rightful place as a tool, not a ruler.

The conversation covers workforce demographics, infrastructure demand, energy production, AI-driven growth, and why construction and skilled trades remain recession-resistant careers with lifetime opportunity. Brian also explains how trade schools can rebuild the pipeline and why this problem must be treated as a national priority — not just an industry issue. This is a big-picture discussion about the future of skilled labor, education reform, and why the trades matter more now than ever.

Safe isn't the same as strong: Why kids need healthy risk

In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch unpack a surprising trend from a recent CDC report: many traditional adolescent risk behaviors are declining, but anxiety and fear are rising. While this may sound like good news on the surface, the conversation asks a deeper question: What happens when kids don't take the kinds of risks that help them grow? Dr. Kathy clarifies that this isn't about encouraging dangerous behavior, but about restoring appropriate, guided risk, the kind that builds confidence, competence, humility, and resilience. From trying out for a team to walking to the library alone, kids need chances to stretch, stumble, succeed, and recover. When parents remove every risk in the name of safety, children may internalize fear rather than strength. The episode also speaks directly to parents' hearts. Letting kids struggle is hard. Watching disappointment hurts. But our response in those moments, whether we frame the experience as growth or regret, shapes how children understand themselves. When kids know they are supported and not defined by outcomes, they grow into adults who believe they can handle life. Grounded in Jesus' parable of the talents in Matthew 25, this conversation reframes risk taking as stewardship rather than recklessness. Avoiding all risk doesn't preserve potential; it buries it. Parents are encouraged to know their individual child well and offer a longer leash when the stakes are manageable. In doing so, they help their kids develop the courage and resilience they'll need for the darker, harder moments that inevitably come later in life.

Cyn is the author of Death's Doorstep: Near-Death Experiences, Angel Rescues, & Spirit Warnings, a collection of firsthand accounts from people who stood at the threshold of death and felt something watching, intervening, and in some cases, turning them back. These are not polished stories of comfort or light — they are fractured moments where time bends, reality thins, and unseen forces make themselves known.   As a longtime investigator with Elk Valley Paranormal, Cyn has spent years documenting hauntings, encounters, and phenomena that refuse to stay neatly categorized. What makes her work unsettling is not just what people experience — but the consistency of how they experience it. The warnings. The presences without faces. The overwhelming sense that death is not random… and not entirely ours to choose.   In Death's Doorstep, Cyn explores angel rescues that feel less like miracles and more like interruptions, spirit warnings that arrive with urgency rather than comfort, and near-death experiences that leave survivors forever altered — more intuitive, more isolated, and sometimes afraid of what they now know.   Tonight, we're not asking whether the afterlife exists. We're asking who controls the boundary… who decides when it opens… and what it means when someone comes back with the feeling they were never meant to stay. In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch respond to a heartbreaking moment from American Idol, where a song written in memory of a young girl lost to suicide brings renewed attention to bullying, social media pressure, anxiety, and teen mental health. While the story is tender and sobering, the conversation moves carefully toward clarity rather than fear. Dr. Kathy helps parents distinguish between being anxious, a normal human experience, and clinical anxiety, which often develops when kids don't have the relationships or support to process worry well. Not every anxious child is on a path toward depression, but every child needs guidance in learning how to name and work through hard emotions. Parents are encouraged to stay observant without catastrophizing and engaged without hovering. The episode also addresses the reality that much of modern culture, especially social media, is designed to intensify comparison and emotional overload. Rather than blaming kids for struggling, parents are invited to come alongside them with truth, data, compassion, and hope, reminding them that what they're feeling is understandable and that they are not alone. Rooted in Psalm 42, this conversation reframes anxiety as an invitation to connection rather than a diagnosis to fear. When kids are allowed to express worry without shame and are guided toward resilience, faith, and support, anxious moments don't have to become anxious identities. This episode offers parents reassurance and practical encouragement to be a steady, hopeful presence in an anxious age.

Why Money, Power, and Women Didn't Fix the Pain with Michael Lynch | The Hopeaholics PodcastIn this raw and powerful episode of the Hopeaholics Podcast, Michael Lynch sits down to share an unfiltered story of survival, addiction, crime, success, and redemption. From growing up in foster care and running the streets, to building a viral underground fight empire funded by prison hustles, Michael opens up about the rise that came with money, fame, and excess—and the quiet collapse that followed through alcoholism, isolation, and the brink of suicide. He speaks candidly about manipulation, power, broken relationships, and how alcohol nearly destroyed everything drugs never could. The conversation takes a dramatic turn as Michael recounts being raided just days after deciding to end his life, leading to jail, a fight for freedom, and an unexpected introduction to recovery that ultimately saved him. This episode dives deep into the psychology of addiction, the illusion of success, prison life, spiritual awakening, and what real transformation looks like after hitting bottom. It's an intense, honest, and inspiring story about losing everything, surrendering control, and finding purpose in helping others find their way out.#thehopeaholics  #redemption #recovery #AlcoholAddiction #AddictionRecovery #wedorecover #SobrietyJourney #MyStory #Hope #wedorecover #treatmentcenter #natalieevamarieJoin our patreon to get access to an EXTRA EPISODE every week of ‘Off the Record', exclusive content, a thriving recovery community, and opportunities to be featured on the podcast. https://patreon.com/TheHopeaholics Go to www.Wolfpak.com today and support our sponsors. Welcome to Being a Parent is Hard! In this week's episode we take a deep dive into the anxiety-producing topic of mental health and emotional stressors facing new college students. Whether it's choosing a college, deciding on a major, finding a roommate,, or acclimating to dormitory living, the start of college can be a stressful time. And there's the transition to living away from home which includes self-care, setting appropriate limits for yourself, and managing social and academic pressures--all of which can be a source of stress for new college students. Add to that the ever present stressors connected to alcohol, sex and drugs, and it easy to understand why depression and anxiety are so widespread among our older teens. We hope you can join us as we discuss the pressures and struggles facing our college students and how we as parents can help.Contact us at: beingaparentishardpodcast@gmail.com

This week, I talk with Tiago Forte about far more than productivity systems or note-taking. This one is about what happens after success—when the systems that once fueled your growth start working against you. We talk about burnout, anger, embodiment, and how listening to the body can become a doorway to deeper clarity and determination. Tiago shares the personal journey that shaped Building a Second Brain, why he made the difficult decision to wind down a wildly successful business, and what he's learned by redesigning his life around alignment rather than optimization. We also explore the changing value of audience, community, and creativity in the age of AI, and why real connection—both locally and globally—matters more than ever. This conversation is about the inner work required to build a life, not just a career, that actually fits. Let's get to it! Puberty can feel overwhelming for kids and parents alike. In this episode of Facing the Dark, Wayne Stender and Dr. Kathy Koch explore new research on pubertal self efficacy and why confidence, not avoidance, is key to helping kids navigate this critical season. Drawing from findings in the Journal of Adolescence, they discuss how teens who understand what's happening in their bodies and emotions experience less anxiety and depression. Dr. Kathy explains self efficacy as the belief that "I can handle what's being asked of me," and shows parents how this confidence is built through contribution, clear instruction, patience, and ongoing conversation. Together, they unpack why puberty is such a significant identity shaping moment and why kids don't need mystery or silence, but guidance and reassurance. Grounded in Luke 2 and Jesus' own growth into maturity, this episode equips parents to replace fear with formation, helping kids experience puberty not as something to endure alone, but as a God designed process they are capable of walking through well.
