Young men are in freefall — and society's paying the price. Scott Galloway is here to explain the data behind the collapse and offer potential solutions.Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1250What We Discuss with Scott Galloway:Young men are experiencing an unprecedented decline, with higher rates of suicide, addiction, homelessness, and incarceration than any other demographic. Yet discussing this crisis triggers reflexive pushback, even though addressing it doesn't diminish the legitimate struggles women and minorities continue to face. When boys lose male role models through death, divorce, or abandonment, the outcomes are devastating. They become more likely to be incarcerated than graduate college, unlike girls, who maintain consistent outcomes in single-parent homes. Boys are neurologically and emotionally more fragile than we've been willing to admit.Elite universities have abandoned their mission as public servants and repositioned themselves as luxury brands, creating artificial scarcity that's pulling up the ladders of opportunity. America's ethos should be watering as many acorns as possible, not sorting teenagers into winners and losers at 18.The three drivers of romantic attraction for men are signaling resources, intellect (best communicated through humor), and kindness — and kindness is the most underleveraged. Women instinctively seek mates who'll protect them during vulnerability — being kind to strangers signals good character far more than being nice to her.Put away the scorecard in your relationships. Stop tracking who gave more and instead ask: what kind of friend, partner, or son do I want to be? The happiest people aren't those who are loved most, but those who find others who let them give the most love. And much more...And if you're still game to support us, please leave a review here — even one sentence helps! Irish consumers are being targeted by increasingly sophisticated online scams, according to a new set of case studies released by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). The warning comes as Black Friday and Cyber Monday kick off the busiest shopping period of the year, creating prime opportunities for scammers to steal from unsuspecting shoppers. With recent research revealing that almost 40% surveyed expect to make a purchase in the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, the CCPC is advising consumers to be extra vigilant and to stop and think before rushing into making a purchase. The case studies, which date between November 2024 and August 2025, reveal losses ranging from €42 to €20,000 and highlight the wide range of methods used to scam consumers. These include fake websites, phishing emails, fraudulent job offers, rental accommodation scams, and investment fraud. The CCPC is warning consumers to be especially wary of ads on social media, as scammers are using convincing clones of trusted websites and fake local shops to trick shoppers. To stay safe, always purchase through the retailer's official website or app rather than clicking on the social media link. Stop, search and stay safe To help consumers shop safely during the peak shopping season, the CCPC advises following these three simple steps: Stop: Scammers often create urgency to pressure quick decisions. If something feels off or too good to be true, stop and think before engaging further. Search: Remember that logos, "about us" pages and imagery on websites can be fabricated. Always take a minute to check sites like Trustpilot or Reddit for independent reviews. Stay safe: Watch out for common red flags, including unusually large discounts - "up to 80% off", unfamiliar websites, recently created social media profiles, and all five-star reviews. Always use a credit card, debit card or trusted payment provider, rather than a direct bank transfer. Grainne Griffin, director of communications at the CCPC, said: "As the busiest shopping season of the year kicks off, it's important that consumers avoid rushing into online purchases and transactions. Online scams have become more and more sophisticated, using convincing images and stories and carefully tailoring their ads to seem like they're a trustworthy business. "For the sake of your finances and your safety, take care when shopping online. Don't let tactics like time-sensitive offers or countdown clocks pressure you into making a decision you might regret. "Do your research, take your time, and don't take risks, no matter how tempting the deal - you can lose an awful lot of money in just a few clicks. Always use a credit card, debit card or trusted payment provider like PayPal, rather than a direct bank transfer." What to do if you've been scammed when shopping online If you think you've been scammed, contact your bank or payment provider immediately. You may be able to initiate a chargeback and get your money back, and you may need to freeze your card to prevent further money being taken. An Garda Síochána are responsible for pursuing scam operators, so contact your local Garda office and report it. Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1854"I worry that at the hands of this godlike technology regulated by paleolithic instincts and medieval institutions, that we're evolving a new species of asocial, asexual males." - Scott GallowayScott Galloway walks Lewis through a crisis most people can sense but few can articulate. Sixty-three percent of men under thirty aren't even attempting to date anymore. One in seven young men are NEETs, neither working nor studying nor training for anything, just existing alone with screens. Galloway explains how we got here with uncomfortable precision. Online dating condensed human worth into brutal metrics like "six feet, six figures," which describes exactly two percent of available men. Meanwhile, every traditional venue where men could demonstrate excellence over time has evaporated. They're not going to church, not showing up to offices, not in classrooms where someone might notice they're funny, kind, outstanding at what they do. The algorithms figured out they can monetize every second they keep a young man staring at a screen instead of living in the actual world, and young men are uniquely vulnerable to this because of biology, less developed impulse control, higher susceptibility to dopamine addiction. Why face the rejection and effort of making friends when Reddit offers connection without risk? Why navigate workplace politics when you can trade crypto from your bedroom? Why pursue romance when porn is right there?Galloway isn't offering easy solutions because there aren't any yet. He's diagnosing something that should terrify us. Forty percent of the S&P 500 by market value is now AI-related companies whose algorithms, not through malice but through optimization, have figured out how to sequester young men from their relationships and monetize that isolation. Women, celebrated for walking away at the first red flag and conditioned to demand perfection, are simultaneously dealing with a dating pool that's shrinking not because men are unworthy but because they've stopped showing up entirely. This isn't about blame. It's about understanding that trillion-dollar economic incentives are arrayed against human connection, and young men, through a combination of biological vulnerability and vanishing social infrastructure, are losing that fight. Galloway predicts you'll start visibly noticing fewer young men at malls, events, anywhere public. They're going to be alone in rooms with screens, and we're all going to live with the consequences of that.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The traditional linear shopping journey has collapsed. Commerce now happens everywhere, and consumers are navigating this omnimodal reality with unprecedented fluidity.Phillip Jackson and Lindsay Trinkle sit down with Melissa Minkow, Global Director of Retail Strategy and Insights at CI&T, to unpack findings from her Retail Tech Reality Check research. Together, they dissect how different platforms serve distinct purposes in the buyer's journey, why "omnichannel" is more relevant than ever, and what happens when everything becomes shoppable but commerce itself becomes invisible. In this episode, we explore how the expanded digital ecosystem is fundamentally reprogramming how consumers engage with content, community, and commerce. With 74% of US consumers now using AI tools in their path to purchase, brands can no longer control the narrative—instead, they must embed themselves intentionally into customer-led conversations across multiple contexts.Commerce Is Invisible; Context Isn'tKey takeaways:Each social platform serves a distinct purpose: Facebook for purchasing, YouTube for discovery, Reddit for research. Context matters more than channel ubiquity. The invisible transaction wins: TikTok succeeds because it's entertainment-first. The less commerce feels like commerce, the more consumers buy.Attribution is broken: Traditional linear models can't capture circular, contextual journeys. Focus on conversion, repeat purchase, and brand awareness—the only metrics you can trust.Search remains unsolved: Basic functionality like filtering furniture by dimensions is still missing. Data quality and search methodology are foundational competitive advantages.Micro-influencers drive outsized impact: 45 passionate referrals matter more than 45,000 followers. The persona of the referrer (picky, experimental, passionate) outweighs reach.AI will reshape holiday 2025: Gifting anxiety makes AI particularly valuable. Consumers use it to avoid looking stupid and navigate uncertain return processes.In-Show Mentions:Melissa Minkow - Global Director of Retail Strategy and Insights, CI&TCI&T Retail Tech Reality Check ResearchNew Modes ResearchAssociated Links:Check out Future Commerce on YouTubeCheck out Future Commerce+ for exclusive content and save on merch and printSubscribe to Insiders and The Senses to read more about what we are witnessing in the commerce worldListen to our other episodes of Future CommerceHave any questions or comments about the show? Ross welcomes Gaetano DiNardi, growth advisor and B2B SaaS strategist, to unpack the brutal questions CEOs are suddenly firing at their SEO teams in the AI era: traffic is flat or down, attribution is messy, LLM dashboards look scary, and everyone wants to know if SEO is still “working.” They dig into why traffic is no longer the primary health metric, how AI Overviews and LLMs are breaking the old “rank → CTR → traffic → leads → revenue” equation, and why CMOs should obsess less over sessions and more over demo requests, pipeline, deal size, and overall organic channel performance. Gaetano shares how he's reframing SEO for mid-market B2B SaaS: shifting from decaying top-of-funnel content to bottom-of-funnel “money pages,” optimizing for LLM citations and “money prompts,” and using concepts like “crash-the-party” comparison pages to win high-intent demand across both Google and AI platforms. They also break down why LLM prompt tracking is the new rank tracking (with all the same pitfalls), how AI platform traffic actually converts compared to Google, what “dark funnel SEO” looks like in practice, and why Gaetano thinks classic TOFU SEO might effectively go to zero while brand, data studies, and opinionated thought leadership pick up the slack. I have a confession: I was wrong about using AI for marketing. Especially for financial advisors. I thought that prompting AI better would generate better results. While this is true for a few very specific, data-based AI projects, it categorically fails for financial advisor marketing for one glaring reason: The source material AI pulls its answers from is based on Reddit, Wikipedia, and Facebook. It's the purest form of average possible. And since financial advisor marketing is fundamentally different from marketing for other industries, it will only waste your time and your money. That's the bad news. The good news? In this episode, I share a new and little-known AI tool that fixes this "source material" problem for financial advisors. Listen now. Show highlights include: How chasing bright, shiny objections in your business will make you unhappier in your personal life (3:26) Why becoming a better AI prompter is a waste of time that won't improve your marketing and might even plant the seeds of your financial advice business's destruction (4:06) AI's big, fat "source material" problem that explains why using it for marketing will always generate lackluster results (especially for financial advisors) (5:16) The only AI tool that I can confidently recommend to financial advisors who want to improve their marketing (13:03) My Profitable Pricing Blueprint gives you an unfair advantage over AI. By now, it's pretty clear that deep squats are superior to half or quarter squats in basically every way: better strength gains, more hypertrophy, improved athletic performance. But what about your knee health? Squatting deep definitely puts more stress on your knee joints, so will you regret having done ass to grass squats when you're older? In other words, are deep squats the cause of knee pain and knee injuries, or are they the solution to long-term knee health? Let's look at the science! In today's episode, we delve into a review article titled "Impact of the Deep Squat on Articular Knee Joint Structures, Friend or Enemy? A Scoping Review". Listen now: Spotify, Apple and YouTubeIn the first-ever live recording of Supra Insider, Marc and Ben sat down with Jacob Bank, founder of Relay.app, to unpack one of the most urgent questions facing product leaders today: How do AI agents actually change the way we work? Instead of abstract predictions, Jacob shares the very real workflows, failures, and breakthroughs behind running a 10-person company that delegates work to more than 300 AI agents.Across the conversation, the three dig into what PMs must learn next: writing job descriptions for agents, architecting responsibilities, managing automated execution, and understanding how agents influence velocity, product quality, and cross-functional collaboration. Jacob also discusses why PMs are lagging behind engineering and ops in adopting agentic workflows, and what will happen to teams who don't catch up.If you're a PM, founder, or operator trying to understand how AI is reshaping product development, or you've struggled to translate “agent hype” into concrete, repeatable workflows, this episode gives you a realistic, practitioner-level framework for building with agents today, and preparing for what's coming next. All episodes of the podcast are also available on Spotify, Apple and YouTube.New to the pod? Rehab is a $42 billion industry hooked on bad science. Nick Pell helps us detox from its myths by prescribing the truth on Skeptical Sunday!Welcome to Skeptical Sunday, a special edition of The Jordan Harbinger Show where Jordan and a guest break down a topic that you may have never thought about, open things up, and debunk common misconceptions. This time around, we're joined by writer and researcher Nick Pell!Full show notes and resources can be found here: jordanharbinger.com/1249On This Week's Skeptical Sunday:The Minnesota Model dominates addiction treatment despite lacking evidence. This abstinence-based approach from the 1950s, requiring lifelong total abstinence from all substances, became the default not because it works best but because 12-step programs are free and easily scalable. Most people naturally age out of addiction without treatment. Research shows the majority who struggle with substances simply stop on their own over time, contradicting the "chronic disease" narrative that claims addiction requires lifelong management and intervention. The addiction treatment industry has massive financial conflicts of interest. As rehab is a $42 billion industry, practices like the "Florida Shuffle" and patient brokering weaponize relapse for profit, billing insurance repeatedly for the same patients cycling through facilities. The disease model of addiction lacks empirical support. There's no scientifically recognized "addictive personality," and the idea that addiction is an incurable, progressive disease isn't backed by research, yet it remains the dominant framework shaping treatment and policy.Evidence-based alternatives like harm reduction and moderation exist. Options including SMART Recovery, medication-assisted treatment, and gradual reduction approaches can be effective. You don't need to hit rock bottom before seeking help, and recovery can mean different things for different people.Connect with Jordan on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. A skull found in a Mexican mine 90 years ago has features that no single known medical condition can fully explain. Doctors and scientists have studied this misshapen skull for decades, but no one can agree on what it actually is.IN THIS EPISODE: If you are into aliens or conspiracies, you've likely heard of the StarChild skull – a strange skull that appears either misshapen, or – as many believe – is the skull of a hybrid between extraterrestrials and human beings. What is the truth behind the StarChild? (What Is The StarChild?) *** In the 1700s life-saving techniques were obviously not as advanced as those we have today. Case in point – one doctor wanted to know if and how a drowned person might be brought back to life. The solution? Go to a hanging and try to revive the executed man. How do you think that went? (The Hanged Man) *** We've spoken often here on Weird Darkness about shadow people – what their purpose is, where they come from, whether they are malevolent or not… but are they ghosts, or something else entirely? We're back with a spoiler-filled double feature of ROOFMAN and Guillermo del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN (2025). We unpack why ROOFMAN feels like an instant “Reddit classic,” how it fits in that cozy mid-2000s Little Miss Sunshine / Logan Lucky / adult dramedy lane, and whether Channing Tatum just delivered one of his best performances opposite a lights-out Kirsten Dunst. Then we go long on GDT's FRANKENSTEIN.Is Oscar Isaac miscast or perfectly hammy as Victor? Is the movie too sympathetic to its creator, or just honest about tech-bro god complexes? How hard does Jacob Elordi cook as the Creature?Do the practical effects and gore outweigh the “Netflix look” of the CG backdrops?Mia Goth as the true nature-vs-nurture conscience of the movieFrankenstein as an AI / capitalism / “move fast and break things” parableTimestamps 00:00 - ROOFMAN spoiler review 28:20 - FRANKENSTEIN (2025) spoilers with Lee
Here's an Amazon link to my microphone: https://amzn.to/3lInsRR Wanna rock the ReddX merch? https://teespring.com/stores/r... Got a story? I got a subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/ReddX... In this episode of r/LegbeardStories we meet Stealthbeard and her friend Thiccy Chick. The OP doesn't let on much of what goes on in this legbeard saga, and it takes a while to go places... But I have to admit that I like the extensive inner monologue during this legbeard story. Definitely a different flavor than we usually get. It doesn't matter what your background is, you always need to treat people like people and not use them simply to get off. Neckbeards seem to learn this lesson particularly slow and it really does make my blood boil... So we must bring it to light so others don't suffer alone. For your fill of neckbeard stories we've got you covered with the freshest weeaboo, niceguy, and neckbeard happenings on reddit. Stick with ReddX for your daily dose of cringe with a side-dish of relatability. You might even feel good for dessert... These r/legbeardstories from Reddit are among the top posts of all time and include some of the funniest Reddit stories ever posted on the legbeard stories subreddit! rSlash LegbeardStories have all kinds of funny legbeards in them, but especially the nice girl. And the weeaboo. There is a wide spectrum of neckbeards, and this is but a small slice of it. Listening to ReddX's legbeard stories playlist is a great experience! These neckbeard stories Top Posts of All Time from Reddit are made for you to enjoy any time you feel like it, so be sure to save my rSlash legbeard stories playlist to your favorites! While there are many rslash channels that read r/legbeard stories and r/prorevenge from reddit, each channel has their own way of performing them. Some of the top rSlash subreddit narration channels I recommend checking out are the original rSlash, Redditor, fresh, r/Bumfries, VoiceyHere, Mr Reddit, Storytime and Darkfluff. These Reddit story channels inspired me to start my own Reddit story channel, with a focus on legbeard stories and at times going into the r/pettyrevenge and r/choosingbeggars subreddit as well. Because most of my audience prefers Neckbeard Stories of Reddit, I tend to just stick with reading the r/EntitleParents Top Posts of All Time. But I also enjoy getting up close and personal with legbeards and weeaboos from time to time. Subscribe to ReddX for the freshest daily Reddit content. Returning guest Vincent Bruzzese — trader, former statistics professor, poker player, and former Hollywood behavioral analyst — joins Tessa for a candid discussion about navigating one of the most narrative-driven markets in years. Known online as “Hari Seldon” in the Real Day Trading community, Vincent is recognized for posting his trades live and delivering multiple years of standout performance, with returns north of 60% and even 80%. In this episode, Vincent talks about why traders are struggling with discipline, how sentiment and storylines are overpowering both fundamentals and technicals, and what separates structured trading from gambling. He also shares how tools like his walkaway analysis help reinforce better habits and improve decision-making. Tessa and Vincent dig into mindset, process, relative strength, risk management, and how he rebuilt after blowing up his account twice. They also explore the emotional side of trading in a market that often feels disconnected from reality — and how traders can stay grounded despite the chaos.
