People lost homes, bridges were knocked out, and many farmers lost a lot of crops. Despite the massive loss people are coming together to help their neighbor in need.

Most of us have started using zirconia as a material for our indirect restorations. We either mill it chairside or send it out to the lab to be fabricated. Either way we need to make sure that our technique is perfect when delivering it to the tooth, especially if we are working with a non-retentive prep. If we need to rely on adhesion, we have to understand the nuances of bonding zirconia to tooth structure. To tell us all about it is our guest Dr. Alex Vasserman. Dr Vasserman is a respected clinician running his own practice on the Upper East side of Manhattan.

Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

On this podcast we discuss the premiere two episodes (Hen in the Fox House and Hide and Seek). Unfortunately, I did realize while editing that we refer to one of the characters as Annie when their real name in the show is Allie. Tune in and enjoy!
Hello, and welcome to Beauty and the Biz where we talk about the business and marketing side of plastic surgery, and how to charge a lot / give a lot. I'm your host, Catherine Maley, author of Your Aesthetic Practice – What your patients are saying, as well as consultant to plastic surgeons, to get them more patients and more profits. Now, today's episode is called "Charge a Lot, Give a Lot — with Ryan Neinstein, MD". How do you charge up to $75K for a tummy tuck? That's what I asked this week's Beauty and the Biz Podcast (link) guest Dr. Ryan Neinstein. He's a plastic surgeon in private practice in NYC, in a gorgeous 6K square foot office above the iconic Bergdorf Goodman store with views overlooking Central Park. Dr. Neinstein's answer….”We charge a lot. We give a lot.” He went on to explain his hyper focus on the patient experience and aftercare that his patients gladly pay extra for. He walks his talk by employing 30 full-time staff who assist him in surgery, offer concierge services, drop off garments, pick up prescriptions, visit post-op patients and anything else that makes patients feel special and cared for. His entire team thinks “relational” vs “transactional” and he gave lots of great tips for developing a practice culture that is fun, inspiring and profitable. We also talked about HOW: His marketing efforts keep 3 plastic surgeons busy What he focuses on that allows him to charge more How he “rules but not reigns” Dr. Neinstein shared his pearls and philosophy with good take-a-ways. Visit Dr. Neinstein's Website P.S. If you are NOT getting the consultation conversions you want, there's something your coordinator doesn't know. I'll train her to be a converting rock-star within weeks.

Fire Island is a 1-mile-wide barrier island with 32 miles of pristine white sand beaches and no paved roads. It began in 1653 like Nantucket as a whaling community. Real estate boomed in the 1950s, and Fire Island emerged as "the premier bohemian summer retreat" Newly established beach bungalows lit up with creative New Yorkers. Over the next ten years, the landscape became a collage of rooftops where the rich and famous were able to escape. Like Nantucket the majority of the island is protected and will remain undeveloped. There are approximately 4,500 homes on the island, and about 820,865 people come by ferry to visit the beaches every summer.- What is the Fire Island of 2022 and how has it changed in the last 10 years?- Have the bohemians all left, priced out of the market, as Fire Island gentrifies?- The average price is $1.14 million, half of the average in East Hampton and a third the average of Nantucket. Is Fire Island a relative bargain for affluent New Yorkers?- Is Fire Island a gay community? According to FireIsland.com this is one of the most frequently asked questions and greatest misconceptions about Fire Island. - Bloomberg reports that Fire Island Pines is the most expensive its ever been, where a 4 bedroom on Black Duck Walk rents for $17,500 a week.Ocean Beach, with 600+ houses, is the most established year-round town, but does anybody actually live on Fire Island and commute daily into Manhattan?- Fire Island Pines summer population swells to 4,000 at peak but in the winter the number dwells to only a few dozen. Is that going to change in a post-covid world?Robert Kuchar of Douglas Elliman Real EstateReal estate has always been Robert Kuhar's life. In addition to being a busy broker in NYC, in May 2019, Robert opened the second Douglas Elliman office on Fire Island, in Ocean Beach – the culmination of a 10-year dream – where he is Branch Manager. He has an intimate understanding of both the NYC and Fire Island markets having lived in New York City for almost 30 years (in the Upper West, Upper East, Downtown, Midtown, Brooklyn and now Harlem), and owned in Ocean Bay Park, Fire Island for 15+ years.Glenn Rice of Brown Harris StevensGlenn Rice moved to NYC in 1991 to attend Columbia University where he received a degree in English Literature. Schaftlein Report | Supreme Court Crushes EPA in 6-3 Ruling Guest - Jeffrey Dunetz - LidBlog Author ( LidBlog.com ) Topics: 1) West Virginia versus EPA: Ruling reverses 1973 law that empowered the EPA's regulatory authority over Coal, Power Plants and the Fossil fuel industry. EPA does not have unheralded regulated authority to dictate policy. Congress should dictate rules and not the EPA. This is a HUGE loss for Climate Activists. Victory for energy!! 2) This year the EPA has denied 69 requests from oil companies to make cheaper gasoline under "small refinery exceptions" for ethanol to meet renewable fuel standards. While there are food shortages in the world, radical democrats and climate activists force higher prices on consumers by requiring corm based ethanol in some gasoline products thus increasing the price. 2B) Court rules 5-4 for Biden against Trump's Remain in Mexico policy for people coming from other countries 3) 73% of Americans believe the country is going in the wrong direction in one poll and 85% in a second poll. 4) In Real Clear Politics Polling Average, Biden hit s new Low of 38% approval and 57.5% Disapproval. 19.5% deficit. On the Economy. he is upside down by 30 points. 5) Small businesses and larger corporations are leaving Chicago as violent crime is up 35%. Once again a liberal democrat is in charge. 20 year old woman shot at point blank range in back of head in Upper East side of NYC strolling her baby 6) Inflation and crime are way more important to Americans than Abortion 7) Recession fears grow as food inflation is at a 42 year high. Biden rules out asking Saudi Arabia to produce more oil. 8) Biden reaffirms commitment to back Ukraine to defeat Russia as more weapons to be sent by NATO countries to Ukraine 9) 1-6 hearings resemble Soviet show trials. Secret Service refutes witness claims of Trump in The Beast.

We go out on the streets and talk to Marvin Jeffcoat, District 26 Candidate in a meetup near Elmhurst Hospital to talk about the number one issue of this campaign - crime and there being no punishment and little or no support for law enforcement much to the advantage of criminals taking advantage of social justice issues and protests. We also listen to what Curtis Sliwa said how his Guardian Angels are out and patroling areas of the city they never thought they would be seen in, Downtown, Wall Strret, Manhattan's Upper East and West Side where crime waves ripples are victimizing people and with almost zero accountability. Marvin Jeffcoat, a man seeking the district city council seat in Queens 26th, his plan and his commitment to you is to restore your freedom by ensuring Fidelity to the Constitution, providing Safe Streets, Education, and Economic Prosperity. This is how I will ensure your government puts YOU FIRST. Safe Streets Our streets are overrun with crime and drugs because the Mayor decided to defund the Police, close Rikers Island, and release criminals just in time to let the insurrection gather momentum. Marvin will reverse this reckless dereliction of duty! Education Marvin is in favor of charter schools, vouchers, and home schooling because they create competition which will lead to lower costs and efficiency. All families deserve quality education that will position them to fill the jobs Marvin plans to create. Job Creation Onerous regulations have strangled the life out of our economy causing small business to close shop taking well-paying jobs with them. Marvin's plan is to attract business to occupy areas already zoned for commercial use with the lowest corporate tax rate in the Nation. Marvin will periodically evaluate and eviscerate regulations that kill union jobs. READ ALONG AT: www.StoryLinkRadio.com In Providence, Rhode Island, Robert Blake, a young writer with an interest in the occult, becomes fascinated by a large disused church on Federal Hill which he can see from his lodgings on the city's Upper East side. His researches reveal that the church has a sinister history involving a cult called the Church of Starry Wisdom and is dreaded by the local migrant inhabitants as being haunted by a primeval evil. The being can only go abroad in darkness, and is hence constrained to the tower at night by the presence of the lights of the city. However, when the city electric power is weakened during a thunderstorm, the local people are terrified by the sounds coming from the church.

Rapper, singer, spoken word artist, writer, and science nerd Dessa is an open book. As a young girl in Minneapolis, she dreamed of being a writer, and in high school she submitted essays unsolicited to the New Yorker. She refused to speak the Spanish own heritage (she’s half Puerto Rican) and instead insisted on learning French. She was, in her own mind, headed for a literary life on the Upper East side of Manhattan. “The third martini and witty repartee” she says. Life seemed to have other plans for her. She ended up channeling her love of language into a different outlet: rap. Dessa has been a longtime member of Minneapolis based hip hop collective Doomtree. Her résumé as a musician includes performances at Lollapalooza and Glastonbury, co-compositions for 100-voice choir, performances with the Minnesota Orchestra, and a top-200 entry on the Billboard charts for her album Parts of Speech. Eventually she was able to turn her success in music back towards her original passion: writing essays. She’s been published by The New York Times Magazine, broadcast by Minnesota Public Radio, published two literary collections of her own, and is set to release her first hardcover collection with Dutton Books in the fall of 2018. Her most recent solo album, Chime, brought together her songwriting with her longtime love of science (one of her first jobs was as a medical technical writer). She turned her own personal experience of heartbreak into a kind of science experiment, and let the process inform her songs. The result is extremely compelling and also great pop music. Be sure to share with us on twitter!
Spotted, Andy and Aaron arguing over season 2 episode 12 of The CW's seminal series "Gossip Girl," entitled "It's a Wonderful Lie." This week, the duo welcomes Andy's sister Robin Greene (@robin_greene on Instagram) to the fold for some juicy family gossip. Brooklyn-based Robin offers a behind the scenes scoop about Taylor Momsen's photo shoot with Maxim, and shares her Penn Badgley Bushwick experience. Rest assured, Dan sympathy runs in the family (#TeamBrooklyn). It's almost Christmas on the Upper East side, which means it's Dan and Serena's sex-iversary and apparently time for group dates with exes and another bout of nervous penis. Which begs all kinds of questions. Can you remain friends with your exes? Can you be a good person AND successful or do you have to choose? Are the limo drivers the undercover Gossip Girl syndicate? Are they Pretty and Reckless or Pretty Reckless? The trio answer these tough questions and discuss the world's worst love triangle (Jenny/Nate/Vanessa), piercings, parties gone wrong, Aaron's "Working Girls" fanfic about Serena's boobs, launch the "Where's Eric?" marketing campaign and much more. This episode is (not) sponsored by Dylan's Candy Bar. xoxo, Gossip Guys.
I first met Jeffrey Gurian at the HBO Aspen comedy festival in 1995. Back then I was chasing the devil's flame in New York with Mitch Helberg 1998-1999, Jeffrey was there many times hanging out with us after shows and keeping notes on the exotic wild life he was observing. His history in comedy is remarkable considering that he started out as a dentist who wrote jokes for Milton Berle, Joan Rivers, Rodney Dangerfield and Dice Clay. He has been around the business for so long many comedians say if you don't know Jeffrey Gurian you are not a real comedian. Not only do I know him, he was kind enough to let me stay with him in his penthouse apartment on the Upper East side last year when I visited New York. He is a regular contributor to The Bennington program on Sirius XM and he also covers all the latest happenings in the comedy world at comedymatterstv.com and his red carpet coverage of major comedy events can be seen at youtube.com/GurianNewsNetwork In life there are not many true friends that will let you stay at their homes and keep you filled up with love and thoughtfulness but that is exactly the kind of friend he is to me and that is why it is my pleasure to present to you now the one and only Jeffrey Gurian! This episode was recorded in New York City End Song: Hey, Brother Man Mickey & The Soul Generation
A North Carolina native, Anthony grew up with the desire to act from an early age. His college years were interrupted by some harrowing twists and turns, but Anthony graduated from East Carolina University in 1992 with a BFA in Communication Arts. In 1993, he drove west with a friend to Los Angeles where he slept on the floor of his high school friend, Keith Coulouris' apartment in Studio City, CA. Keith was instrumental in Anthony getting a bit part in, Dead Man's Revenge, a USA network movie of the week, starring Bruce Dern, Michael Ironside and Vondie Curtis-Hall. Upon realizing the high cost of living in LA, Anthony returned to the East Coast, to study, as he had no business on a film set without formal training. He spent just shy of two years in Atlanta, taking classes and auditioning, before his then agent, Ted Borden urged him to make the big move to Manhattan to study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In 1995, Anthony did just that. He lived in a NYU dorm with a student he met on his flight to New York after the living situation he had arranged prior to the move fell apart upon his arrival. The front door to the apartment that he was to be staying in had been kicked in and the tenants robbed the night before. He ended up bouncing between apartments on the Upper East and West Sides of the city for a few years. Concurrent to his studies at Strasberg Anthony studied privately with acting coaches Michael Margotta and Geoffrey Horne. While performing off-off Broadway in numerous black box theaters, Anthony met Lamya Jezek in 1997. Two years later, upon her graduation from NYU's Tisch School for Acting, the newly engaged couple moved to Los Angeles as Lamya had secured representation. They were married July 14, 2001, in North Carolina. In LA, Anthony studied with Milton Katselas at The Beverly Hills Playhouse and later took classes with Lesly Kahn in the Hollywood Hills, but found that the best training of all, was working on sets with other actors. He had the privilege of working with Academy Award Nominated actor, Edward Norton for nine years on several films as well as Academy Award Winner, Billy Bob Thornton on four films. Anthony maintains a number of relationships in NY and LA, but chose to leave the city life to return to his Southern roots to raise his family. Anthony and his family have resided on the East Coast since 2008 where he has been blessed beyond his wildest dreams by being able to work consistently in film and television as a character actor. Some of the highlights of Anthony's career have been working with some of Hollywood's most celebrated actors. He has had roles on both the small and big screens. On television Anthony has made appearances on “Homeland,” opposite Damien Lewis, “Revenge,” “Nashville” and “The Red Road,” opposite Martin Henderson and Jason Momoa. Anthony can be seen in the upcoming USA drama “Complications” opposite Jason O'Mara. He has feature film roles in “The Hunger Games” opposite Jennifer Lawrence, “Iron Man 3,” “Prisoners” opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. Anthony will be seen in the upcoming films, “Cell,” opposite John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson, “Project Almanac,” and the new reboot of Marvel's “Fantastic Four” franchise opposite Tim Blake Nelson. Anthony wrote and produced a short film entitled “Times Like Dying,” a post Civil War drama that recently World Premiered at the Cucalorus Film Festival. “Times Like Dying” is currently making the film festival rounds.
