Anthony and JK discuss the big surprise they have for next week's episode that both are really excited about, then address some questions that came in about addressing training and programming as you age and where do you start to reduce the weights, then another question about overtraining and its signs. They continue their tips on specific stations of a HYROX race with the Farmer Carry, and finish the episode with a "Guess the Athlete game"! Let us know below how you scored on the trivia game, did you beat JK's score of 2 out of 9? How the stats of the trivia game were compiled: All World, European, and US (later renamed North American) Championship race placements since the inception of HYROX were gathered. There were 14 Championship races someone could have been a part of up to this point: 6 World Championships (2019 - Oberhausen, 2020 - Hamburg, 2021 - Leipzig, 2022 - Las Vegas, 2023 - Manchester, 2024 - Nice) 4 US/NA Championships (2021-2023 - Chicago , 2024 - DC) 4 European Championships (2021 - Hamburg, 2022-2023 - Maastricht, 2024 - Vienna) Most Championships attended: Lauren Weeks & Viola Oberlander (11) Most Total Championships: Lauren Weeks (8), Hunter McIntyre (4), Alex Roncevic/Tobias Lautwein (t-3), all other athletes have at most 1. The Victory points were calculated as 3 points for a 1st place in a championship, 2 points for 2nd place, 1 point for 3rd place, 0 points for no podium (I also did a system where I awarded 5 points for 1st, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd, and 1 for attending but no podium and gave 0 points for not attending and had everyone's total be the same value but the results were nearly identical to the other system so I left it as 3-2-1). For evolution of the sport, I also included a post-2022 win percentage using the point system. If you'd like a screenshot of the spreadsheet, message me and let me know! It covers the first 6 seasons of HYROX since there are no longer US/NA or European Championship races associated with the Elite field. The concert was open to the public, offering a unique experience with first-come-first-served seating, allowing fans to enjoy an intimate and energetic performance by the legendary KISS frontman. Among the highlights of the night was a rendition of Van Halen's 1976 demo version of "House of Pain," which later made it onto their 1984 album, adding a special touch to the evening for rock enthusiasts. In related news, Sammy Hagar is gearing up to kick off his The Best of All World tour and is giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect. The rocker has been sharing clips of rehearsals on Instagram, including one with him and the band – Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani, and drummer Jason Bonham – performing the Van Halen track "Poundcake" from the album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. For those who doubt Satriani's ability to fill the late Eddie Van Halen's shoes, the clip ends with a taste of an epic Satriani guitar solo. “Exclusively Van Halen" is the ultimate destination for all things Van Halen. There have always been movements among high school football teams, but Barry Lewis noted to Patrick Prince that former Jenks quarterback Shaker Reisig going to Union was shocking. A freshman who won a 6AI state championship going to its rival is stunning. Lewis joked that it reminded him of the former TV series "Friday Night Lights." Resig will have competition to start at Union; Simian Gilkey, a super athletic junior who last season was at Bartlesville, is also with the Redhawks. Jenks also has a new quarterback for the new season: Freshman Jackson Presley. Twenty-nine years ago, Jackson's father, Brian Presley, was a sophomore when he quarterbacked Jenks to the Class 6A championship. When Brian graduated in the spring of 1996, he did so as a QB who had been 24-2 as the Trojan starter. Is this like college football's transfer portal? #TaylorHawkins died of an apparent drug overdose on the weekend while on tour with the #FooFighters in South America. @brentonontour manages rock tours and knew Taylor. We'll talk about Taylor's incredible life and untimely death. Looks like our #ArrestRandyHiller hashtag worked. Old Randers turned himself into Ottawa Police and he's the proud owner of no fewer than 9 very serious criminal charges. The video of his arrest is ALL-WORLD. My friend/Lawyer @CarymaRules breaks down the more serious charges and why it took so long for the dumb fuck to be arrested. #WILLSMITH slapped the shit out of Chris Rock at the Oscars last night 6 minutes before he won Best Actor for playing Richard Williams in "King Richard". Dean knows why Will snapped and it's probably Jada's fault. Canada's Men's National Soccer Team is Qatar bound. They beat Jamaica 4-0 yesterday and booked their first World Cup trip in 36 years. The reaction was cool, more importantly, we got our flag back. @DPN_Ray (Ray Rauth) from @DearPatsNation pod joins us to discuss this historic "Fuck You" Canadian heritage moment.

He then compares TJ Watt to his big bro and explains why his growth is still exciting despite not stacking up to his All-World brother. Hottest take of the day, other crap, and the three stars of the show.

Our podcast took a 3-week break for lacrosse's biggest tournament that takes place every 4 years. I joined Team USA in Netanya, Israel for the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships. There were 46 participating countries, and on the final day, the USA held the flag high, sang our national anthem on the podium, and brought the gold back to the States. To relive the moments, drama, and fun, I asked my roommate with Team USA (he's also my New York Lizards teammate), heralded All-World attackman, and one of the best NCAA D1 players of all-time, Rob Pannell, to join me. On the show we talk about his origin story – how he found lacrosse. He was a "late-bloomer" and went grossly un-recruited through high school. RP3's as focused as any professional athlete. He works hard at his craft, training, and nutrition. We talk about it all. Suiting Up is a show that explores the psychology, playbook of tools, and strategies of the most influential people in sports, entrepreneurship, and entertainment. Enjoy my conversation with Team USA World Champion, Rob Pannell. I don't think any of us expected a return to Mid-World, but I'm not complaining! Though the journey might be over, All-World is a large and mysterious, and I want to spend more time there. And that's exactly what we get with this episode!
With releases on Greenskeepers Music, Drop Music, Blotter, Maracuja and Homecoming, JDub has certainly worked with some of the top labels in underground House music. House has had a huge impact on him, “opening doors for me that I never even knew existed, and enabling me to meet the love of my life, my best friends, people from all over the world because of this music. House Music has been my shelter, my food, my refuge, my savior.” House has also seen JDub tour the world playing in London, Paris, Instanbul, Belgium, New York, LA, Toronto, Montreal, and countless other cities. In preparing his 90 minute mix for the Gangstercast, JDub says, “these are the tracks that I’m loving right now that best represent my personality and the message I’m trying to bring across. It’s very personal all the way through from the Eric B and Rakim vocal to the DJ Sneak remix of Master of Time, a Frames track featuring yours truly on vocals. I’ve been very focused on live performance and vocals for the last few years. Whether it was with the Greenskeepers or being featured on multiple projects, I took a big step back from DJing to develop another side of my talent and interest. The tracks featured on this mix make me really excited to DJ again, to wake up and just go hard for hours on end creating this set. Derrick Carter has been a huge influence on me throughout my career so of course he’s also got a track on this mix. I’ve got my San Francisco producers, DJ Dan and DJ Mes here, Carlo Lio representing Toronto, Asad Rizvi from London, some classics including Brand New Heavies and few others. I don’t want to give it all away. I like for people to listen and discover for themselves like I do. That’s how you mine the gems out the dirt. “The mix has all the elements of music that inspire me everyday: Heavy Beats, driving percussion, lethal baselines, clever samples, soulful vocals, a sense of humor, a few surprising twists and turns especially the Hip Hop themes that run through the mix. Hip Hop has always been a huge part of my approach to being a House DJ. Putting a strong message in the music is so important and Hip Hop does that like no other art form. It was really important for this mix that I reinforce my Hip Hop roots and weave together all my main obsessions: House, Hip Hop, Tech-House, and that relentless essence of the mix that I’m all about.” Focusing on the House Gangster movement, JDub adds that for him it is about, “loving your House music and House DJs through all the trends and fades that come along and recognizing how incredible this music is every day. You live it through the music, the fashion, the attitude, the parties you go to, what you spend your cash on, and standing up for your musical principles. When I was coming up in Chicago, people dressed House, they spoke a House language, there was a graphic Art style that was House, it was a culture that permeated everything and you pledged your allegiance to it in spite of the fact that the mainstream treating it at best as a passing fade and at worst as a threat to traditional values. Being a House Gangster reminds me of that time. “People should be proud to represent what they love with no holds barred, no shame, and in a wider global culture that supports the artists, the music, the venues, and the labels that create this movement. It also means have the time of your life, having experiences you’ll always take with you, dancing your face off, and leaving the club in a state of ecstacy and exhaustion. “I feel like I’m returning to my roots with this one because of Sneak and Melissa Sosa creating this whole House Gangster media blitz. I’ve been involved in projects with those guys for years including Blu Funk, All World, and now this. This is all about family and what this family stands for.”
