The person who is Greatness Himself came looking for Matthew today, and He has come looking for us and for our nation. It is impossible to be great without Him. “Follow Me.”

Send us a textFreedom, discipline, and intentional growth—these seemingly contradictory concepts form the powerful foundation of sustainable success in business and life, as explored by Jared Ledford and Eric Olson in this reflective Steel Kings episode.Drawing inspiration from Independence Day, the hosts peel back the surface of entrepreneurship to examine what truly drives fulfilling work. "If you get to the point in your life where you do what you love every day, you'll never work a day in your life," Jared reflects, connecting the passionate joy of kids playing baseball in "The Sandlot" to the satisfaction they've found in the shed and steel building industry. The conversation takes a compelling turn as they discuss the concept of "pruning"—intentionally cutting away what's not bearing fruit to create space for new growth. Both hosts share candidly about difficult business decisions that initially felt like risks but ultimately cleared the path for their current success. "When you clean your slate off, now you can write on it," Eric observes, highlighting how removing unproductive elements creates clarity and new possibilities.Perhaps most practical is their insight on maintaining consistency through the inevitable ups and downs of sales cycles. Rather than riding emotional highs and lows, they advocate for steady discipline—doing the same productive tasks daily regardless of immediate results. As John Maxwell wisely noted and Jared quotes: "The secret to your success is found in your daily routine."Community involvement emerges as another cornerstone of their approach, with both hosts actively engaged in local chambers of commerce and events. They challenge listeners: Whatever your position is right now—good, bad, or indifferent—you can do something today to change your tomorrow. This commitment to incremental, consistent action has transformed their business and can do the same for yours.Ready to bring more intention to your business approach? From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the FDNY deploys beach Gator units at area beaches, which are staffed by EMTs trained to respond to emergencies on the beach. These units work in partnership with the FDNY Drone Unit, FDNY Fire Companies, the NYPD and New York City Parks Department lifeguards and can more easily navigate the beach and through crowds in their small, specialized vehicle. New York City's beaches are especially crowded during the warm summer months, and Independence Day weekend 2024 was no exception. Just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, Station 47's beach gator unit sprang into action when five swimmers in a closed section of the beach were caught in large swells and a rip current, slamming them into the Beach 91 jetty as they struggled to say afloat. In this episode, EMT Saverio Bosco and EMT Andrew Ochtera join us to discuss this rescue operation and what a “day at the beach” is like for members working at one the busiest beaches in the city. Somewhere around the mid-1970s, Hollywood studios realized that the summer months were the perfect launching point for their most-expensive, highest-profile projects. With kids out of school, families needed something to do. The prestigious Oscar-bait timeframe was half a year away. And people welcomed an opportunity to get out of the sun and into a dark, air-conditioned room to watch grown men get eaten by dinosaurs whilst using the toilet, and countless cars exploding for no discernible reason. Billions of dollars have been made by summer blockbusters, and even a few awards have ben won by them. So for the first of our 2025 Summer Specials, we want to look back at those mega-grossing pictures and try to determine the best Summer Blockbuster Film of all time. Send us a message! Really! This week on the Get More Smarter Podcast, we took a break to celebrate what is potentially the last Independence Day for the nation as we know it. The Big Bullshit Bill passed and was signed into law, despite some of the worst provisions getting kicked down the road until after the midterms, of course. Gabe Evans is the biggest liar in Colorado practicing a brand of “technically correct but actually lying” not seen since Cory Gardner was booted out of office in 2020. Then, the people who brought us the pizzagate lie about Democrats running a satanic child sex abuse conspiracy have suddenly decided the Epstein files don't exist and don't matter. And it's absolutely 100% because Donald Trump is all over them. We know this. It's in court records! Then, every Tuesday is TACO Tuesday when you're Donald Trump's tariff policy! Next, Elon Musk is starting a third party nobody asked for, we imagine what it might be like if that idea didn't suck. And finally, there's no Colorado Democrat like a Colorado Republican, at least when it comes to defeating other Colorado Republicans.
Your two alien-slaying trivia nerds are back, and this time they’re firing up the VHS and saluting Independence Day — the film that blew up the White House, made Will Smith the King of July 4th, and gave us the only speech that rivals St. Crispin’s and “Four score.” The TMI guys explain how the movie was born at a press conference, written in a hotel room, and sold in 48 hours — all with the intent of crushing Tim Burton. You’ll learn why the Pentagon pulled support (spoiler: Area 51 drama), how Goldblum improvised his way through the movie and the cigar smoke, and why Randy Quaid nearly saved the world in a crop duster. Also covered: mass UFO panic in Orange County, Lebanese censorship courtesy of Hezbollah, and the moment Bill Clinton watched the White House explode from inside the White House. It’s a tale of German visionaries, binary code, K-Y jelly, patriotic pee scenes, and a sci-fi B-movie that accidentally rewrote the playbook for modern blockbusters. Today, we celebrate… Too Much Information.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0e-3oeMO-0w&t=4s Podcast audio: Ayn Rand viewed the American founding's enshrinement of individuals rights as the greatest political achievement in human history. Yet the rising statism of the twentieth century dramatically undermined those ideals. In Rand's view, America needed a moral revolution: one that renounced the ethics of altruism and embraced the morality of self-interest. What would it take to achieve such a transformation? On Independence Day at the 2025 Objectivist Summer Conference, ARI fellow Ben Bayer took up this question in his provocative talk, “America Should Declare Independence from Altruism.” Bayer argues that it is not enough just to affirm the morality of self-interest in words. Most people — even those who claim to support liberty — remain psychologically dependent on the morality of self-sacrifice and so are unwilling to defend freedom on principle. To illustrate this dependency, Bayer offers an in-depth case study of the COVID lockdowns. He reminds us that these policies were imposed not just by Democrats but also by Republicans, the alleged defenders of American freedom. Republican leaders were cowed by moral pressure to impose shutdowns but have now worked hard to memory-hole their involvement. Bayer argues that Republicans' evasion of their own commitment to altruism dramatized underappreciated insights from Ayn Rand's views on the psychology of altruism. One of Bayer's most thought-provoking points is that the common pejorative use of the term “virtue signaling” reveals a lingering psychological dependence on altruism: critics mock those who merely signal “virtue” because they are unwilling to challenge the content of the signalers' moral beliefs directly. In the Q&A period, Bayer addresses such topics as: How altruism shaped America's post-9/11 foreign policy; Whether sweeping lockdowns can ever be justified; The enduring relevance of Rand's idea of the sanction of the victim; The problems with the concept of “woke.”

Governor Tate Reeves (R) and Speaker Philip Gunn (R). As previously noted by Laurie Todd-Smith in a 2023 Magnolia Tribune column on the making of the “Mississippi Miracle,” only 33 percent of third graders and 32 percent of 8th graders were reading proficiently on state tests that year. Phil Bryant bounded on stage and, in his obvious Southern drawl, greeted the guests of the Jerusalem Leaders Summit, which took place last month at the Inbal hotel. Bryant was presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award for his efforts to strengthen the Israel-U.S. strategic partnership. He is a strong Israel advocate and his emotions were on full display when he addressed the crowd. “We have so many friends around the world,” he said, “but none as close, and none that I love more than Israel. I am called to be here. Perhaps sometimes we cannot explain exactly why, but that call, that voice, is stronger than any other that we hear, to come to Israel, to Jerusalem, to do what I can to strengthen this relationship.” The Third Jerusalem Leaders Summit held from Nov. 18-20, proved a unique event featuring leading voices who articulated principled solutions in addressing the 21st-century's economic concerns, global threats and security challenges. The parent organization—the International Leaders Summit, co-founded by Joel Anand Samy and Natasha Srdoc—brought together leaders from America, Britain, continental Europe, India and Israel to its inaugural Jerusalem Leaders Summit event in 2015, affirming the rule of law of civilization, based on shared principles and values. americasrt.com (https://americasrt.com/) https://summitleadersusa.com/ | https://jerusalemleaderssummit.com/ America's Roundtable on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/americas-roundtable/id1518878472 X: @PhilBryantMS @americasrt1776 @ileaderssummit @NatashaSrdoc @JoelAnandUSA @supertalk America's Roundtable is co-hosted by Natasha Srdoc and Joel Anand Samy, co-founders of International Leaders Summit and the Jerusalem Leaders Summit. On the heels of Independence Day, I want to say to the millions of Americans that we fought and at least temporarily won the greatest revolution to date in this country. A war no Founding Father could have predicted, given the technologies of today. But their forethought allowed us to see the big picture, and we won in 2016, and perhaps dealt a death blow to Leftism in 2024.Understand that the Declaration of Independence didn't give us our independence but confirmed that we already had it…I saw a meme on July 4: The Earth is 4.5B years old and you get to be alive during the Trump presidency! We are getting our country back. But that won't stop the naysayers. No matter how great the news. You would think that if we get legitimate good news, we should all celebrate. Our prayers go out to Texas residents caught in massive floods…See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
This week, we reflect on the meaning of freedom—not just as Americans celebrating Independence Day, but as Christians sent into the world. True freedom isn't about doing whatever we want; it's the gift of choosing love, sacrifice, and God's will. In the Gospel, Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples two by two—not alone, but united in mission and reliant on God's grace. Their joy comes not from their own accomplishments but from seeing what God did through them. As we cherish our country's liberty, we're reminded that freedom without virtue can lead us astray. Christian freedom is always “freedom for”—for holiness, justice, and love of neighbor. This episode challenges us to step out of comfort zones and use our freedom to transform the world for Christ.
In this enlightening episode of Liberty and Learning, Mark Levin engages in a profound discussion with Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College, engage in a thought-provoking discussion about the Declaration of Independence and its lasting impact on American society. As the nation recently celebrated Independence Day, the conversation serves as a timely reminder of the principles that founded the United States. The episode begins with a reflection on the brilliance of the Declaration, described by Dr. Arnn as a "philosophic, political, theological masterpiece." He highlights the intellectual influences that shaped Thomas Jefferson's writing, noting that Jefferson drew from the ideas of great thinkers such as Plato, Aristotle, and John Locke. This rich philosophical background laid the groundwork for a document that would not only declare independence but also articulate the values of liberty and equality that define America. One of the key themes discussed is the evolution of religious freedom in America. Dr. Arnn explains how early settlers sought religious conformity, yet over time, they recognized the necessity of allowing diverse beliefs to flourish. This journey towards understanding the importance of religious freedom is a testament to the evolving nature of American society. As the conversation shifts to the Civil War, Levin and Arnn examine Abraham Lincoln's reliance on the Declaration of Independence to frame the moral argument against slavery. Lincoln's ability to connect the principles of the Declaration to the struggle for freedom and equality underscores the document's enduring relevance. Dr. Arnn emphasizes that Lincoln viewed the Declaration as the foundation of American identity, a perspective that resonates deeply in contemporary discussions about liberty and justice. The episode also addresses the challenges posed by modern progressivism. Levin and Arnn critique how some contemporary interpretations of the Declaration seek to distort its original meaning, arguing for a return to the foundational principles that have guided the nation. They discuss the dangers of viewing the Declaration as merely a historical artifact rather than a living document that continues to inspire and challenge Americans today.Listeners will come away from this episode with a deeper appreciation for the Declaration of Independence, not just as a historical document, but as a vital part of the American ethos. The insights shared by Levin and Arnn encourage us to reflect on our nation's founding principles and consider how they apply to the challenges we face in the present day. The insights shared by Levin and Arnn encourage us to reflect on our nation's founding principles and consider how they apply to the challenges we face in the present day.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dale & Amy Earnhardt are back in the studio this week for another episode of Bless Your 'Hardt! The two recap their 4th of July weekend in South Carolina, where they discuss the current state of their golf cart, the annual Independence Day parade, and how Dale gets the vacation blues when leaving to work the NASCAR race in Chicago. But first, Amy has a story about Isla and her "crush" at the pool. After that, we play a new game called "Poetry For Neanderthals" - a game where you must only use one-syllable words to describe the key word you are trying to get your partner to guess. This leads to one of the funniest stories we've heard yet from our very own Dale Earnhardt Jr. - the curious case of a hamster's broken heart.Last but not least, Ask Amy is full of fun questions this week, including:Where is the next vacation destination they would like to take the girls?Have they fallen for social media propaganda traps? (The answer is "yes, yes, they have.")Advice for going on a third date and how to make sure you don't get a fourth...Who said "I love you" first? The hypothetical battle we all need to know the winner of: Bluey vs. Paw PatrolHow late is TOO late after July 4th to set off fireworks? For more Bless Your 'Hardt content head to our YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@BlessYourHardtHigh Rock Vodka Drink of the Week – High Rock Mimosa.Must be 21 and over. Last week as most Americans looked forward to an extended holiday weekend Fox News went into overdrive as it promoted and pushed Trump's - One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB). Since Trump created his massive budget reconciliation bill Fox News has spoken about it in vague and broad terms. No one at the network spent much energy discussing what was included in the legislation until it was in the final stages of gaining enough votes in the House and Senate. Once it was close to getting over the finish line the folks at Fox knew their job was to champion it at all costs.Even during the network's three-hour Independence Day celebration Fox included extended segments about the success of OBBB. Most of what the Fox News audience learned about the legislation was inaccurate, misleading or downright false. In poll after poll the OBBB remained unpopular with most Americans across the political spectrum. Even several Republican lawmakers in both houses were concerned about the legislation yet all but a handful fell in line to vote for it when pressured by their glorious leader. The OBBB is a monster designed to inflict most of its damage after the midterm elections. As the poorest Americans lose SNAP benefits and Medicaid the wealthiest will have a few more dollars and the country will come closer to financial ruin. This is a public episode. We're back for a fresh week of summer shows, and I am going to leave the phone lines open for comments from over the Independence Day weekend. There was a devastating flood in Texas that caused all sorts of damage, and was not without speculation of unnatural triggers and/or accelerants. On the other hand we were treated to one of the most ridiculous declarations that could have every been produced by the current Department of Justice: Jeffery Epstein didn't have a client list; in fact, Epstein wasn't even in the blackmail business. He just did it for love of the game, with impunity, and then offed himself in jail. This is now the OFFICIAL STORY. So...there's that! (00:00:00) Big Beautiful Bill Begins (00:04:59) Will Musk Make "America Party"? (00:11:03) Epstein Conspiracy Laid to Rest Join Jim and Craig – in for Greg, we must enunciate – for this Monday edition of 3 Martini Lunch. Today they salute Congressional Republicans for getting the Big Beautiful Bill passed, consider Elon Musk's threats to create a new political party, and find truth in the recent Department of Justice declarations about Jeffry Epstein. First, Jim and Craig congratulate Republicans for pulling together to pass such a consequential piece of legislation. Though Jim does not love every part of it, he is impressed that almost the entire Trump agenda was signed into law by Independence Day. Next, they worry over Musk's threats, in light of the Big Beautiful Bill's passing, to create the "American Party" as a third-party opposition. Craig wonders how this might impact support of conventional conservative candidates while Jim argues that there probably just aren't enough voters who care about the deficit and debt to fuel a serious third party. Finally, their own suspicions are laid to rest with the Department of Justice's declaration that Jeffrey Epstein never had a list… even though Pam Bondi said earlier this year the list was on her desk. Suspicions of suicide and blackmail have also been proven wrong. Jim and Craig are convinced by this since the information is not especially advantageous for those who revealed it. In this special Independence Day episode of American Potential, guest David Gowdy—founder of the Virginia Institute for American History—joins host David From to explore the creation of America's most iconic document: the Declaration of Independence. Gowdy shares how Thomas Jefferson, just 33 years old, drew from classical thinkers and the Virginia Declaration of Rights to pen the revolutionary words “all men are created equal.” The conversation dives into the meaning of this phrase, the influence of Jefferson's ideas on Abraham Lincoln's fight against slavery, and the contradiction of Jefferson's personal slave ownership despite his public opposition to the institution. Gowdy also explains why understanding Jefferson's view of rights as granted by the Creator—not the government—is crucial to preserving freedom today. Listen in for a thought-provoking discussion on the timeless principles that sparked a revolution, inspired generations, and continue to challenge Americans to live up to their founding ideals.
House Republicans deliver on Trump's Independence Day deadline, passing the Senate's version of the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, which will cut taxes for the rich, gut Medicaid for the poor, and explode the deficit beyond all recognition. Jen Psaki, host of The Briefing with Jen Psaki on MSNBC, joins Dan to discuss how Mike Johnson and Trump won over the bill's GOP holdouts, what happens now that it's passed, and how it changes the story of the 2026 midterm elections. Jen and Dan discuss Trump's threat to deport Zohran Mamdani and Paramount's $16 million settlement with Trump. Then, Congressman Ro Khanna stops by to talk about what's next for Democrats now that the most unpopular bill in history is set to become law.For a closed-captioned version of this episode, click here. On this Independence Day, Michael Savage shares a poetic judgment on the state of America. He then leads a nostalgic discussion about an America that he remembers and mourns. He draws on his own memories of growing up in New York City and reflects on societal changes he has witnessed in his lifetime. Then, Savage introduces listeners to a 1958 interview with author Aldous Huxley by Mike Wallace. Savage connects Huxley's predictions about technology, propaganda, and drugs to modern-day America. Learn what Huxley wrote about the rise of technology, psycho-active drug use, and why people would willingly accept their loss of freedoms.

Happy Independence Day! Today I'm joined by my good friend, Rick Green. He is going to remind us that liberty requires virtue, that rights come with responsibilities, and that freedom dies when faith fades. It's our prayer that today, we don't just celebrate America's birth, but contend for her future. Talk to your kids about freedom. Pray for our leaders. Get involved. And don't forget: the light of liberty shines brightest when it's lit by the torch of truth. Independence Day means different things to each of us. Republicans are creating, and celebrating, an immigration police state financed by their megabill. Our cities will be militarized, we'll have prison camps, more masked agents, and more dehumanization—like their sicko alligator hats. And the motivation all seems to be so Trump has a win and the Dems don't. But this is Stephen Miller's administration now. Expect net zero migration, less tourism, less international business, and a lower GDP. As we head into Independence Day, it's hard to see the Jeffersonian aspirational promise of America right now. Plus, the administration's freeze on some air defense weapons to Ukraine, how a younger Sam used to think about Bill Kristol, and Candace Owens's potential influence on geopolitical affairs.
