Day 5 of the Duane “Keffe D” Davis Trial: The Last Photo, the Documentary Interviews, and Davis's Own WordsOn Day 5 of the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, charged in the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur, the prosecution continued building its case with eyewitness testimony, documentary filmmakers, and more of Davis's recorded statements to police. The day opened with Leonard Jefferson, the man who took what is widely regarded as the last known photograph of Tupac Shakur alive. Jefferson testified that he was in Las Vegas for the Mike Tyson fight, sold his tickets in the MGM Grand lobby, and later found himself stopped at a red light next to the BMW carrying Tupac and Suge Knight. He snapped a 35mm photo of the pair before following the convoy onto Flamingo Road. Moments later he heard gunfire, saw the BMW make a U-turn, and watched as Suge Knight emerged yelling that “Pac is shot.” Jefferson later returned to the scene at a detective's request and turned over the film. He pushed back against online conspiracy theories claiming he staged the famous image.Next on the stand was Mario Diaz, showrunner and director of the BET docuseries Death Row Chronicles. Diaz detailed two formal interviews he conducted with Davis in 2017, confirmed Davis was paid for his participation, and walked the jury through how the series incorporated portions of Davis's earlier recorded statements to investigators. He testified that the interviews were unscripted and that no questions were provided in advance.Prosecutors then played extended audio from a voluntary September 2009 police interview in which Davis described the night of the shooting in detail. In the recording, Davis discusses obtaining a gun (described as a .40-caliber Glock) from Eric “Zip” Martin, handing it off inside the white Cadillac, and his nephew Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson ultimately firing the shots. He also referenced Sean “Diddy” Combs and expressed regret, saying he wished the events had never happened and that meeting Combs had “messed up” his life.The day closed with testimony from filmmaker Michael Dorsey, a technical consultant on Death Row Chronicles and producer connected to the Murder Rap project. In the replacement remodeling market, the same products are sold over and over, the objections are common, and the more consistent a rep's approach, the higher they close. But consistent doesn't mean rigid. Dean uses a bingo-board analogy to explain why the best sales reps move dynamically to answer whatever the customer raises. As he puts it, borrowing from Mike Tyson: "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face." From there the conversation turns to trust, which Dean breaks into three drivers: brand (a homeowner judges you within a fraction of a second), personalization (put the customer's own house and name on the first screen), and education (be the guide who makes the homeowner the hero). "No one cares what you can sell, what you can install if they don't trust you," Dean explains. Dean then shares what separates the teams that win: they train, they practice, and they coach. They don't hand sales teams content and wish them luck. Instead, they build a feedback loop, using analytics to see what's working and coaching reps without it feeling like Big Brother. He also cautions that content is a tool inside the conversation, not a replacement for it. The episode closes with two grounding reminders for any small business owner: do the same thing every time so you can actually learn what works, and remember that technology is never a silver bullet — start with the problem, not the shiny object. Day 2 of the Tupac murder trial just delivered the first real courtroom fireworks. Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur was gunned down in a drive-by near the Las Vegas Strip, Duane “Keffe D” Davis is finally on trial for orchestrating the killing. On Day 2, the prosecution continued building its case with crime scene evidence, autopsy details, and testimony from people who were deep inside the Death Row and Compton worlds.Former Las Vegas crime scene analyst Thomas Kern walked the jury through the physical evidence recovered from Tupac's body and the scene. Medical examiner Dr. Lisa Gavin reviewed the original autopsy findings and confirmed the fatal gunshot wounds that ended the rapper's life six days after the shooting. Then the temperature rose. James “Mob James” McDonald, a longtime Suge Knight associate and former Death Row figure, took the stand and immediately declared himself a hostile witness.He locked eyes with Davis multiple times, told the defense attorney their questions were going to get Davis in trouble, and made it clear he had no interest in helping send the defendant to prison. Two and a half hours later, Shakur was shot four times from a white Cadillac on Flamingo Road.Former sergeant Kenneth Rios testified he made contact with Anderson after the beating. Anderson declined to press charges. No report was ever filed. Anderson later became the primary suspect in the murder and was killed in Compton in 1998. He was never charged.No murder weapon has been recovered in thirty years. The white Cadillac has never been found. Day One of TrialNearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip, the first person ever charged in his murder finally faced a jury.On the opening day of the trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, prosecutors painted a clear picture of revenge. They told jurors that Davis, a former South Side Compton Crips leader, did not pull the trigger—but orchestrated the entire drive-by that killed the 25-year-old rap icon on September 7, 1996. Just hours after Tupac and members of his Death Row entourage beat Davis's nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, in the lobby of the MGM Grand following a Mike Tyson fight, prosecutors say Davis got a .40-caliber Glock, assembled a crew in a white Cadillac, and made sure the shooters were armed and ready. Chief Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal told the jury the state's case rests heavily on Davis's own words—from a secret 2008 interview with investigators, later statements, and his 2019 memoir Compton Street Legend—in which he described being in the front passenger seat, passing the gun to the back, and watching the shots ring out. “Duane Davis did not pull the trigger. Boxer Michael Spinks was one of the most accomplished fighters of his generation, even if his career has never received quite the recognition it deserves.  A gold medalist at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Spinks became the dominant light heavyweight of his era before doing what no reigning light heavyweight champion had ever done: move up and defeat the heavyweight champion, upsetting the unbeaten Larry Holmes in 1985 and beating him again the following year. Yet for many casual sports fans, Spinks is remembered less for everything he accomplished than for the 91 seconds it took Mike Tyson to knock him out in their massive 1988 "Once and For All" showdown. That loss became the final fight of Spinks' career, obscuring a remarkable body of work that legendary boxing writer Jack Hirsch believes deserves far greater historical appreciation.
