In today’s episode Duane invites Debby, his long term girlfriend of over 6 years, to come on the show to talk about her experience dealing with a toxic ex spouse. Part of the reality is most people do not understand how complex and nasty these situations can be. Debby talks about how she thought, hoped, she would be a peace maker and help calm things down. She quickly realized that was not going to be the case. This quickly resulted in the ex working to sabotage any special event that we did as a “family”. A listener asks Debby about her past history and they talk about her children, past relationships and how her experience, although difficult, was nothing like what DSD is going through. They then discuss the first few times Debby met “pumpkin” and how that interaction went. This flows into a discussion about the first time, early in DSD and Debby’s relationship, where she realized he had been deeply emotionally traumatized by the ex. Garrett and Danielle are proponents of dating your spouse AT LEAST once a week. They understand that adding young children to the mix can sometimes present a challenge but know that your relationship MUST come first if you want it to last. It’s as if the listening audience has become their sounding board and allows them to be better communicators with each other without completely flipping their lids and going off on each other. Danielle: In life, once you get out of your routine it’s so easy to lose your momentum. It’s in doing the small things consistently that keep us on track to build the large things; it’s the small and consistent things in marriage that keep a relationship stable and progressing. QUESTION What are you doing consistently inside of your relationship that is noticeably making a difference in the way you feel about and communciate with each other? Point #2: Baby Talk In the land of pregnancy and babies, when a woman is overdue it is a common understanding that having sex helps induce labor. Danielle’s experience with their two previous babies was that within an hour of having sex, the contractions began. Garrett attributes it to his “very aggressive sperm.” Danielle’s well thought out plans for the gender reveal went sideways as the waves washed out the pink and blue smoke bombs she had carefully buried in the sand. Garrett accidentally reveals the gender of the baby during the podcast. QUESTION Did your gender reveal turn out as planned?   Point #3: Family Affair? A lot of times, people think they can only trust their family to watch their kids. Danielle has discovered that having someone other than family members might actually be better for you and your kids. From her personal experience, she would rather hire someone to follow her structure and routine instead of having free help from family who want to do their own thing. QUESTION What has been your experience with family members watching your children?   Point #4: On-Demand Babysitter Gone Awry Garrett wanted to have an on-demand babysitter who was always available. He paid her a salary and got her an apartment close by their home so they would have someone ready to care for the kids whenever he and Danielle wanted to go out. It evolved into a sense of entitlement and a situation where Danielle was having to dance around the babysitter’s schedule. Danielle: Finding a babysitter is like building a business. You assume that people you hire will know what to do, but you should never assume. Find someone that you like and then be clear about the outcome you expect while they’re there. Always keep them in check. People want to know how to win whether it’s a nanny or an employee and will start to retreat when they don’t know how to please you. QUESTION Have you set clear outcomes and expectations for your babysitters?   Point #5: “Care.com: Your Shit is Legit” By far the best decision Garrett & Danielle have made when it comes to finding a babysitter or nanny for their children is going through care.com. Garrett advises, “Request your babysitters driven by a dollar value, and when they turn in their application, make sure they send you a video.” “You’re investing in the guardianship of your children. If you’re paying a lot of money, set clear outcomes and expectations. If you look at the overall investment on a monthly basis, you’re investing in your marriage. 1-What’s your marriage worth? 2-How much are your children worth?” QUESTION Are you being a cheap bastard when it comes to hiring someone to watch your children? Communication Challenge: Have a conversation about Date Night, and the challenges you are currently facing that are stopping you from going out consistently with your spouse. Get clear about what you want from your marriage, and what you can do to begin making Date Night a top priority in your marriage. Date Night Topic: Have a brainstorming session about the things you and your spouse want to do on your Date Nights for the next couple of months. Campanis, who had played alongside Robinson and was known for being close to him, was being interviewed about the subject on Nightline. Anchorman Ted Koppel asked him why, at the time, there had been few black managers and no black general managers in Major League Baseball. Campanis' reply was that blacks "may not have some of the necessities to be, let's say, a field manager, or, perhaps, a general manager" for these positions. Elsewhere in the interview, he said that blacks are often poor swimmers "because they don't have the buoyancy." Koppel says he gave Campanis several opportunities to clarify, ("Do you really believe that?") or back down from his remarks, but Campanis confirmed his views with his replies. James Baldwin, author of If Beale Street Could Talk, passed away.   29.    John H. Johnson is named the first BE Entrepreneur of the Decade, having built Johnson Publishing Co. Inc., producers of Ebony, Jet, and Fashion Fair cosmetics into an international powerhouse. Born and raised in Arkansas, Johnson’s family moved to Chicago when he was a teen. He excelled in school, received a scholarship to the University of Chicago, and began working at an insurance company. He got his start when his mother used her furniture as collateral for a $500 loan to start his first publication, Negro Digest, in 1942, which served as the launching pad for him to create the largest African American publishing company in the world. Seemingly, there wasn’t a single African American household in late 20th century America in which you could not find a copy of Ebony or Jet on the coffee table. In September 1955, Johnson made a decision that forever shook the world. Not one to vacillate on any issue, he revealed to millions the mutilated corpse of Emmett Till, a Chicago youngster who had been bludgeoned and shot in Mississippi for reportedly whistling at a white woman. Shortly thereafter, other black publications followed Jet’s lead in publishing the photos. It galvanized clusters of African Americans nationwide to protest such senseless acts of violence. Crack became popular on the “streets” with dealers because it turns powder cocaine into an extremely profitable and addictive drug you can now sell to anybody, rich, poor, black, and white. In 1974, at age 17, he joined Chicago’s Experimental Black Actors Guild X-Bag Theatre and studied at the Second City comedy workshop for improvisation. In 1975, he had a brief uncredited role in the 1975 movie, Cooley High. After high school, Townsend enrolled at Illinois State University, studied for a year, dropped out and moved to New York to pursue comedy.   105.    Townsend met Keenan Ivory Wayans while they were both auditioning at the Improvisation Comedy club and the two formed a lifelong friendship. It had done well against other local teams, but Mr. Staley wanted to build it into a team that could compete successfully with the best semi-professional and industrial teams in the country.” - George Halas, in his book Halas by Halas.   46.    The franchise was founded in Decatur, Illinois, on September 17, 1920 and moved to Chicago in 1921. It is one of only two remaining franchises from the NFL's founding in 1920, along with the Arizona Cardinals, which was originally also in Chicago. Originally named the Decatur Staleys, the company hired George Halas, a Chicago native, and Edward "Dutch" Sternaman in 1920 to run the team. The 1920 Decatur Staleys season was their inaugural regular season completed in the newly formed American Professional Football Association (later renamed the National Football League (NFL) in 1922). The team relocated to Chicago in 1921, where the club was renamed the Chicago Staleys. Under an agreement reached by Halas and Sternaman with Staley, Halas purchased the rights to the club from Staley for $100 (~$1,400 in 2019). In 1922, Halas changed the team name from the Staleys to the Bears. The team moved into Wrigley Field, which was home to the Chicago Cubs baseball franchise and, as with several early NFL franchises, the Bears derived their nickname from their city's baseball team. Halas liked the bright orange-and-blue colors of his alma mater, the University of Illinois, and the Bears adopted those colors as their own.   47.    The 1985 Bears were simply the greatest team ever, and here's why. The collection of players Chicago put together not just on defense, but also offense, made them one of the most talented teams ever assembled. The Bears steam-rolled their way through the regular season with a 15-1 record. In Super Bowl XX, they destroyed the Pats 46-10, with the only 10 points they would give up in the entire playoffs. At the time, the 36-point win was the largest in Super Bowl history. Chicago finished with an 18-1 overall record and allowed only five of the teams they faced that year to score more than 10 points in a game. In her more than four decades of music career that has spanned over eleven studio albums and seven world tours, Jackson has sold more than 100 million records with four of her albums being included in Rolling Stone's ‘500 Greatest Albums’ and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's ‘Definitive 200’ list. She was a fixture on MTV and a major role model for young artist.   82.    Childhood and career: Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, she was the youngest of the ten children. With the entire family into the entertainment business, it was only natural for Janet Jackson to follow suit. She recorded herself in the studio and by the age of seven, had performed at the Las Vegas Strip at MGM Casino. In 1976, Jackson began acting in the variety show ‘The Jacksons’. The following year, she grabbed a main role as Penny Gordon Woods in the sitcom ‘Good Times’. This was followed by a role in ‘A New Kind of Family’ and a recurring role in ‘Different Strokes’. At the age of 16, Jackson received a contract with A&M Records. Under the label, she released her debut album ‘Janet Jackson’ in 1982. The album peaked at number 63 on the Billboard 200, and number six on the publication’s R&B albums chart. In 1984, Jackson released her second album ‘Dream Street’. The album was moderately successful, peaking at 147 on the Billboard 200, and number 19 on the R&B albums chart. Its lead single ‘Don’t Stand a Chance’ peaked at number nine on Billboard’s R&B singles chart. Continuous tiffs with her father led Jackson to come out from under his shell. She then teamed with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis to come up with her third album ‘Control’ in 1986 which became a major hit. The album peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 and was certified five times platinum by the RIAA, selling over ten million copies worldwide.   83.    ‘Control’ gave Jackson her first breakthrough success. It not just spawned top five singles but also gave her, her first number one hit on the Hot 100. The album went on to receive six Billboard Awards, including Top Pop Singles Artist and three Grammy nominations. It also won four American Music Awards from twelve nominations, the highest ever till date. ‘Control’ gained crossover pop appeal, giving Jackson her own identity, away from her clan. Following the stupendous success of ‘Control’, Jackson was bounded by the pressure to come up with its sequel. It was after one of those performances that funk band leader David Washington of ‘Chapter 8’ identified her and asked her to go to go for an audition in order to join the band.   89.    Career: Baker became a member of the band ‘Chapter 8’ in 1975 (@ 17 yrs. old) and following a string of performances, the band was handed a deal by Ariola Records in 1979. The group’s first album ‘Chapter 8’ was released in 1979 and featured the singles "Ready for Your Love," a duet between Baker and bandmate Gerald Lyles, and the Baker-led "I Just Want to Be Your Girl." In 1979, Ariola Records was taken over by Arista Records and Chapter 8 lost their contract as Arista Records was of the view that Baker was not fit to be the group’s lead singer. Baker went back to Detroit and worked as a waitress and a receptionist for a law firm. In 1983 (@ 25yrs old), she released her debut solo album, 'The Songstress', under the Beverly Glen label. The album was a popular one and many of the songs made it to the music charts. Following the release of the album she had a protracted legal battle with the Beverly Glen label over payment of royalties and breach of contract issues. She won the case against the label in 1985, signed with Elektra Records label, and came out with her second album 'Rapture' in 1986. The film never highlights their racial otherness, exploring instead the whole messy business of their experiences. The black experience – to the extent such a thing even exists – is not only slavery and racism and economic disparity and brutality and the endless ongoing struggle, though it is all these things certainly. Sandra showed us Black women could be bold, fierce, fabulous, and fashionistas and rock any outfit with enough confidence to stop traffic. From interview with Lee Bailey’s Electronic Urban Report, “I was a diva, full and blown up. In fact, I was the ‘It’ girl. Oh yeah, I was that girl. I dressed well, had a lot of money. I don’t know how many cars. You know, it was the 80s, it was not a blur, but it flew so fast.” Fortunately, Harry had a great vehicle to shine in “227,” which struck a chord with its relatable characters. Harry’s hard work obviously paid off with Sandra, who became a certified hit with viewers. It’s a given that Harry put her stamp on the character, but she credits a couple of entertainment icons for helping to lay the groundwork for her and other women to be funny and sexy without missing a beat. Especially when it came to Sandra. “Just funny. Funny. And the clothes she wore, scandalous. Funny lines. Sexy, fancy. People wanted that and I didn’t know that, then,” Harry said about what made her beloved “227” character so endearing. “I grew up watching a lot of TV and I had seen women like that on TV… a lot of different women like Mae West and Lucille Ball. That was my vision of funny. Pretty, but still funny and you can get away with a lot more. As this week’s episode with Coach Sam and special guest, Luke Kayyem unfolds, it is sure to have you on the edge of your seat. It confirms the existence of miracles and a higher power, that each of us has a divine purpose, and that in the depths of our darkest pit there is a light shining on the life we are meant to live and the person we are meant to become. Parable #1: Phantom Dad Luke is an only child, was born to his mother when she was 43 years old and grew up without a father. “My dad was a phantom.” When Luke was old enough to speak, he asked his mother where his father was. “He’s got some problems & issues.” While in the seventh grade, Luke’s father actually reached out to him from prison and began writing him letters, promising Luke that when he got out on January 1st, he would return and become the father he was missing in his life. That day came and went until finally his mother told Luke, “He’s not coming.” QUESTION Did you have a phantom dad? Are you that phantom dad?   Parable #2: Burning It All Down After receiving that news, Luke began burning his young life down. He partied, stole, joined a gang, and sold drugs. “Thank goodness the other side of the coin was sports and a mom who did give a shit and who was there for me.” But the damage that he did during grades 8-12 was irreversible. “I did some really dumb, dark shit.” And from the ages of 20-25, Luke did whatever he could to try to forget it all. At that point in his life, Luke questioned if there was even a purpose to his life, other than his mother. He had no real goals or aspirations aside from “make some money, spend some money, party and drink.” One Saturday afternoon in June 2015, Luke went to see his mom. Life would take a sharp left turn that day which become one of the darkest moments in his life. “The one person in the world that’s ever believed in me is gone…” QUESTION How have you burned down your life?   Parable #3: The Dark Years Two hours after losing his mom, Luke bought all the alcohol he could find. Drinking became a way for him to forget everything. “I got so fucked up during the funeral that I can’t even tell you what I said.” Business-wise, things were going really well for Luke. But he looked like he was 50 years old because he was drinking, eating like shit, and making terrible choices. At this point, Luke decided that a move to Hawaii with his 20 person entourage would solve all of his problems. A year later, after being told ‘fuck you, I never want to talk to you again’ from his girlfriend, Luke returned to California. QUESTION What form of sedation to you consistently turn to? Parable #4: Twist of Fate Here he was, back where he started as a trainer when he was 19. One of his buddies had invited him to Lake Tahoe for New Year’s and within an hour of his arrival, he ran into his ex-girlfriend. “The one person who believed in me and still does to this day more than anybody was this queen whom I had not treated well for a very long time.” They didn’t leave the hotel for three days. “At 24, she’s a high-level executive in real estate, she’s crushing it in San Francisco, and wants nothing to do with this ass-hole.” Two weeks later while sitting at a bar, he gets a phone call, “I’m pregnant.” In her eyes, Luke is “an alcoholic, you’ve slept with all my friends, you’re a piece of shit.” He promised her if she would trust and believe in him, he would never make another “shitty fucking decision” again. As the story continues, time would tell if Luke was able to keep that promise and how life would unfold for them. QUESTION How are you seeing yourself in Luke’s story?   Parable #5: Letting Go During his life, Luke had turned his back on religion. It wasn’t until he entered the gates of Warrior Week where he was introduced to this idea of Meditation as being something beyond an app on his phone. “Finding that reconnection to this power or this third eye was the biggest thing I was missing.” His big a-hah moment during the interview with Sam revealed to Luke that he had been using fitness a tool of sedation. “Just nine months ago, I was running away from my missing father and the death of my mom. Those two weights were like carrying around 100 lb sandbags on each shoulder.” It took the power of the brotherhood, the coaches and Warrior Week to allow Luke to express the demons he had been carrying around his whole life. Do all the voices you hear, family and friends, neighbors, co-workers, news media, etc., say (preach?) basically the same thing? Do most of your conversations end with head nodding agreement and wonderment--or worse--at how anyone could think anything substantially different? If any of that is true, be aware that equally intelligent, equally good-hearted people, people who have also thought things through, just may have opinions 180 degrees apart from yours. With the same head nodding and wonderment in their opposite echo chambers.    The solution is not to somehow drown out or belittle the other echo chambers, the different points of view. The solution is for everyone to open up to opinions that are all over the map. Change up your news sources, seek out those who will disagree with you. Challenge--at a core level--your own thinking. Always. The diversity that counts most in life is diversity of thought. And that type of diversity is getting negative mention, if any mention at all. For the next 10 minutes, we will talk about what this means to us as individuals, and to the future of our republic. The greatest chance of being in an echo chamber comes from living in one-party geographies. Is it an accident that states like California and New York are predominantly progressive, and states like Texas and Oklahoma are not? Take a look at this electoral map. With four exceptions, all of the states in the contiguous 48 that voted one way or the other are in connected blocks. Of those four, Colorado and New Mexico share a border, and the other two, Minnesota and Illinois, very nearly connected. Question: Did everyone of a like mind move to the same places, or is something else going on? Answer: Something else. In the absence of differing opinions from a variety of sources, people will rely on the opinions of family and friends, co-workers and their favorite news sources and social media. Outside of family, all the sources will be selected more for comfort and absence of frustration than political reasoning, intellectual probity and diversity of thought. Not surprisingly, everyone will pretty much share the same opinions. Similar opinions from several sources reinforce each other and can easily be seen as a valid consensus. Caution: this is a false consensus, based on a clearly biased group of inputs. Today’s Key Point: Living in an echo chamber is far more damaging than just having limited inputs and insights and a narrow outlook; it is dangerous. Garrett and Danielle are proponents of dating your spouse at least once a week. They understand that adding young children to the mix can sometimes present a challenge but know that your relationship MUST come first if you want it to last. It’s as if the listening audience has become their sounding board and allows them to be better communicators with each other without completely flipping their lids and going off on each other. Danielle: In life, once you get out of your routine it’s so easy to lose your momentum. It’s in doing the small things consistently that keep us on track to build the large things; it’s the small and consistent things in marriage that keep a relationship stable and progressing. QUESTION What are you doing consistently inside of your relationship that is noticeably making a difference in the way you feel about and communciate with each other? Point #2: Baby Talk In the land of pregnancy and babies, when a woman is overdue it is a common understanding that having sex helps induce labor. Danielle’s experience with their two previous babies was that within an hour of having sex, the contractions began. Garrett attributes it to his “very aggressive sperm.” Danielle’s well thought out plans for the gender reveal went sideways as the waves washed out the pink and blue smoke bombs she had carefully buried in the sand. Garrett accidentally reveals the gender of the baby during the podcast. QUESTION Did your gender reveal turn out as planned?   Point #3: Family Affair? A lot of times, people think they can only trust their family to watch their kids. Danielle has discovered that having someone other than family might actually be better for you and your kids. From her personal experience, she would rather hire someone to follow her structure and routine instead of having free help from family who want to do their own thing. QUESTION What has been your experience with family watching your children?   Point #4: On-Demand Babysitter Gone Awry Garrett wanted to have an on-demand babysitter who was always available. He paid her a salary and got her an apartment close by their home so they would have someone ready to care for the kids whenever he and Danielle wanted to go out. It evolved into a sense of entitlement and a situation where Danielle was having to dance around the babysitter’s schedule. Danielle: Finding a babysitter is like building a business. You assume that people you hire will know what to do, but you should never assume. Find someone that you like and then be clear about the outcome you expect while they’re there. Always keep them in check. People want to know how to win whether it’s a nanny or an employee and will start to retreat when they don’t know how to please you. QUESTION Have you set clear outcomes and expectations for your babysitters?   Point #5: Care.com: Your Shit is Legit By far the best decision Garrett & Danielle have made when it comes to finding a babysitter or nanny for their children is going through care.com. Garrett advises, “Request your babysitters driven by a dollar value, and when they turn in their application, make sure they send you a video.” “You’re investing in the guardianship of your children. If you’re paying a lot of money, set clear outcomes and expectations. If you look at the overall investment on a monthly basis, you’re investing in your marriage. 1-What’s your marriage worth? 2-How much are your children worth?” QUESTION Are you being a cheap bastard when it comes to hiring someone to watch your children? Communication Challenge: Have a conversation about Date Night, and the challenges you are currently facing that are stopping you from going out consistently with your spouse. Get clear about what you want from your marriage, and what you can do to begin making Date Night a top priority in your marriage. Date Night Topic: Have a brainstorming session about the things you and your spouse want to do on your Date Nights for the next couple of months. Dr. Funkenstein, a.k.a, Star Child: Singer, songwriter, bandleader, and record producer.    Born in Kannapolis, NC, he grew up in Plainfield, New Jersey. Clinton became interested in doo wop during the early ’50s. Basing his group on Frankie Lymon & the Teenagers, Clinton formed The Parliaments in 1955, rehearsing in the back room of a Plainfield barbershop where he straightened hair. The Parliaments released only two singles during the next ten years, but frequent trips to Detroit during the mid-’60s – where Clinton began working as a songwriter and producer – eventually paid off their investment. The Parliaments finally had a hit with the 1967 single “(I Wanna) Testify”. But his label ran out of money and George refused to record any new material. When the label was bought out by Atlantic, Clinton decided to abandon the Parliaments name rather than record for the major label and record the same band under a new name: Funkadelic. (In 1970 he regained the rights to The Parliaments name) Inspired by Motown ‘s assembly line of sound, He gradually put together a collective of over 50 musicians and recorded during the ’70s both as Parliament and Funkadelic. While Funkadelic pursued band-format psychedelic rock, Parliament engaged in a funk free-for-all, blending influences from the godfathers (James Brown and Sly Stone) with freaky costumes and themes inspired by ’60s acid culture and science fiction. He is regarded, along with James Brown and Sly Stone, as one of the foremost innovators of funk music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, alongside 15 other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.   Key Artist   Kool & the Gang, "Best Band Ever!?!?"   Formed in Jersey City, New Jersey in 1964 by brothers Robert "Kool" Bell and Ronald Bell. They have explored many musical styles: jazz, soul, funk, rock, and pop music. After three albums, the band had commercial success with Wild and Peaceful (1973) which contained the US top ten singles "Jungle Boogie" and "Hollywood Swinging". They reached a commercial peak between 1979 and 1986 following their partnership with Brazilian musician Eumir Deodato and the addition of singer James "J.T." Taylor to the line-up. Their most successful albums of this period include Ladies' Night (1979), Celebrate! (1980), and Emergency (1984), and the hit singles "Ladies' Night", "Celebration", "Get Down on It", "Joanna", and "Cherish". The band continues to perform to this day.   Open Comments:   Question: What makes a track funky?   Movie Scene - Royal Black Hollywood Strikes Back   Both movies were deliberate attempts to counter the Blaxploitation movement.   Claudine - "The Poverty Technician" (Plot)   The film tells the story of Claudine Price (Diahann Carroll), a single Black Harlem mother, living on welfare with six children, who finds love with a garbage collector, Rupert Marshall (James Earl Jones), whom she calls "Roop". The pair's relationship becomes complicated because of several factors. Among these are that the couple do not want to marry because they would not be able to support the children without welfare, and that the kids themselves, particularly eldest son Charles (Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs), are apprehensive of Rupert, and believe that he will leave their mother just like her previous husbands had. Claudine and Rupert meet while both are at work. Rupert asks Claudine out on a date with him and Claudine accepts. When Rupert becomes invited inside Claudine's apartment, the children are rude and vulgar towards Rupert. This is also the first time the audience meets the children and sees the inside of Claudine's slum-like apartment. Later, in the film, the audience finds out that Claudine receives financial aid from the government through the welfare program. Throughout the film, Miss Kabak, the social worker, visits Claudine at her home and asks her if she is employed and if she is dating anyone. Claudine always denies Miss Kabak the truth and lies to her about being unemployed and single. If Claudine tells the truth and says that she is employed, the amount of financial aid she receives from the welfare program would decrease or she could also no longer receive any more financial aid. If Claudine dates anyone and receives gifts from her boyfriend, the social worker must deduct any money or gifts Claudine is receiving from whomever she is dating. Just before he is to announce his engagement to Claudine to the kids, Rupert is served papers for a court order relating to underpayment of child support of his own children; his work wages are garnished to pay the difference. Rupert becomes so upset about this that he disappears for a couple of days and loses contact with everyone. He moves out of his apartment, does not show up to work, and does not show up to the Father's Day celebration the children had prepared for him. Charles eventually finds him drunk at a bar and angrily confronts him. Charles is angry at Rupert because he left his mother without any explanation. Out of the anger Charles felt for Rupert, he engages in a physical fight with him. After the incident at the bar, Rupert eventually shows up outside of Claudine's apartment and speaks to her. After some time, the couple talk things over and make up. After several hardships and debating over whether they should marry because of financial issues relating to welfare, the couple decide to marry. They hold a wedding ceremony, but it is interrupted when Charles runs inside the apartment in the middle of the ceremony while the police are chasing after him. The couple and the rest of the children run after Charles, leave the ceremony, and board the police wagon. The film ends on a cheery note with the entire family, along with Rupert, walking happily hand in hand through the neighborhood.   Question: Should welfare be (a) reformed or (b) avoided? What would a or b look like?   Conclusion: Regardless of the message, Gladys' music was on hit (3rd #1 R&B LP) and Diahann Carroll was great, she was nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards in 1975.   Uptown Saturday Night - "The Good Guys (Sidney & Bill) Get Over" (Plot)   While enjoying themselves at Madame Zenobia's club on Saturday Night, Steve Jackson (Poitier) and Wardell Franklin (Cosby) are held up by robbers who raid the club, taking Steve's wallet as a result. Upon realizing that a winning lottery ticket worth $50,000 is in the wallet, they set out to find the crooks themselves. Determined to retrieve the ticket, they search for it using the help of gangster Geechie Dan Beauford (Belafonte), who wants to defeat his rival Silky Slim (Lockhart). Using their wit, perseverance, and fearlessness, Steve and Wardell devise a plan to get the ticket using the help of both gangsters, in the hopes that it will pay off for them.   Question: Is this truly anti-Blaxploitation or just another version?   Television Scene - A Tale of 2 Black Families   That's My Mama, "Warm and Fuzzy" (1 season, 1974-75) (Plot)   Set in a middle-class African American neighborhood in Washington, D.C., the program revolved around the character Clifton Curtis (played by Clifton Davis), a man in his mid-20s who worked as a barber at Oscar's Barber Shop, the family barber shop he had inherited from his late father. While Clifton enjoyed being a bachelor, his loving, but tart-tongued and opinionated mother Eloise "Mama" Curtis, played by Theresa Merritt, wanted him to settle down and find a nice wife. Additional characters – such as Clifton's two best friends—Earl, played by Teddy Wilson, an easy-going mailman and Junior, played by Ted Lange, a suave and good-humored ladies' man—came and went over the course of a typical day at Oscar's Barber Shop. Other characters included Tracy, Clifton's little sister, played by Lynne Moody and later by Joan Pringle and her husband, Leonard, played by Lisle Wilson, as well as local seniors Josh and Wildcat, played by DeForest Covan and Jester Hairston. Clifton Davis and Hairston would work together again years later in the hit sitcom, Amen.   Conclusion: Never a ratings success.   Good Times, "Classic" (6 seasons, 1974-1979) (Plot)   Florida and James Evans live in a Chicago housing project and have three children: James Jr., also known as "J.J."; Thelma; and Michael, called "the militant midget" by his father due to his passionate activism. When the series begins, J.J. is seventeen years old, Thelma is sixteen, and Michael is eleven. Their exuberant neighbor, and Florida's best friend, is Willona Woods, a recent divorcée who works at a boutique. Their building superintendent is Nathan Bookman. The characters originated on the sitcom Maude. Episodes deal with the characters' attempts to overcome poverty. GT was intended to be a good show for Esther Rolle and John Amos. Both expected the show to deal with serious topics in a comedic way while providing positive characters. However, J.J. became the breakout character.  As a result, the writers focused more on J.J.'s comedic antics instead of serious issues. Through seasons two and three, Rolle and Amos grew increasingly disillusioned with the direction of the show. Rolle was vocal about it: "He's 18 and he doesn't work. He can't read or write. He doesn't think. The show didn't start out to be that...Little by little—with the help of the artist, I suppose, because they couldn't do that to me—they have made J.J. more stupid and enlarged the role. Negative images have been slipped in on us through the character of the oldest child." Jimmie Walker was the only cast member to not show at Rolle's funeral. Amos also spoke out: "The writers would prefer to put a chicken hat on J.J. and have him prance around saying "DY-NO-MITE", and that way they could waste a few minutes and not have to write meaningful dialogue." Amos was ultimately fired after just 3 seasons.   [Audio Clip]   Open Comments:   Question: Did/do you know anyone in real life like J.J.?   Conclusion: They didn't recast James Evans, they just killed him off and Esther was playing a single mom after all. Islam will likely be the catalyst which will bring about the New World Order [New Global Governance]. New Babylon will arise from this 10 nation compact . You will begin to see the loss of your right to privacy. Israel and the USA will be the key targets of this attack. In exchange for being allowed to build her Temple, Israel will sign a peace treaty with the New Global Governance Leader: the FALSE-messiah. BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER IDENTITY   There are several keys to identifying Babylon, the harlot. That is, there are KEY scriptural descriptions which inform us as to her geopolitical operations and location. The Ruach Elohim revealed these to me years ago. I had never heard anyone teach about them and I had never read anything written by scholars about these keys. Almost every religious book, article, or commentary only described her as a religious system with  origin and practices evolving from ancient Babylon. However, notice the following in Revelation Chapters 17 and 18 of the Brit Chadasha (the New Covenant, or New Testament): 1. Babylon is a literal city. (Rev. 17:18 & 18:19) 2. Babylon influences the leaders of the nations. (Rev. 17:2, 18) 3. Babylon is a key distributor of immoral [anti-G-d] deception (Rev. 17:2) Note: the word “fornication" is the Greek “porneuo" which can mean “illicit sexual intercourse or prostitution," and is used both literally (Mark 10:19, 1 Co. 6:18 & 10:8, Rev. 2:14 & 20) and can also be used metaphorically to describe spiritual fornication, or idolatry. 4. Babylon is a seaport city or geopolitical coastal area. (Rev. 18:17-19) 5. Babylon is responsible for the murder of G-d’s prophets and all who are slain upon earth. (Rev. 17:6 & 18:24) 6. Babylon is a key distributor of narco-religion: Satanic delusion. (Rev. 18:23) 7. Babylon is THE KEY CENTER of world trade. (Rev. 18:9-19) BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER SUPPORT SYSTEM We read that Babylon, the harlot, rides upon . . . or is supported by . . . a system which has a historical and sequential background. That system is described as a “scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns." (Revelation 17:1-3) In Revelation 17:10 we read of seven (7) heads or kings, five (5) of which are already fallen in John’s day when he wrote the Book of Revelation, one which John said “IS" (in his day, the #6), and the other (the seventh) would rule AFTER John lived. Note: Not that the 7th kingdom would start ruling a little while after he died; but that in the future another world force would rule for a little while. Remember our summary above of the historic temporal or civil powers of the world. I told you to: REMEMBER THE  SUMMARY OF HISTORIC POWERS AS IT IS A KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE SEVEN (7) HEADS OF THE BEAST UPON WHICH THE HARLOT, BABYLON, RIDES! The seven (7) heads are: 1. Egypt 2. Assyria 3. Babylon (the second Babylonian Empire) 4. Medo-Persia 5. Greece 6. Rome 7. Islam divided: Sunni, Shia, ISIS   The sixth major empire and the FOURTH in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was Rome. This was the head, or king, that Yochanan (John) said “IS" (in his day, the #6) ...  which was Rome (the Roman Empire). The term “kings" is used in scripture different times to mean a dynasty or series of kings in a dynasty, such as Jeremiah 25:11-12. Remember, there was en Eastern Division of the Roman Empire (headquartered in the confines of present day Turkey) that existed for another 1,000 years. The beast (the anti-Messiah or false messiah) that was and is not, is himself also an eighth  king, and is of the seven; and he goes into perdition. (Revelation 17:10-11) This is a perfect description of the anti-Christ who will come to rule, and then die with a deadly wound to the head, and then seemingly be raised to life again (8th). (Revelation Chapter 13) The anti―or false―messiah, will receive support from the geopolitical "10 Region Islamic Confederacy" confines of any of the following: Turkey, the Mediterranean countries ... including North Africa ... and the Middle East. Remember, there was an Eastern extension of the Old Roman Empire (with its capitol in the area today known as Turkey) which outlasted the Western Roman Empire by 1,000 years (from the 4th Century to 1453 C.E.). Therefore, the False Messiah can emerge from either the Eastern EU, Mediterranean countries or Islamic countries in the Middle East. The false-messiah (leader of the New World Governance) will then select the religious leader of the world – the false prophet – who may be a Muslim Imam and a member of the Islamic Caliphate. NOTE: The anti-Messiah has a "type" of forerunner in Antiochus Epiphanes IV who desecrated the Jewish Temple and the Jewish People. Check out the abomination that makes desolate. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5 / Daniel 9:27, 11:31, 12:11 / Matthew 24:15 (Jesus). BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER DESTRUCTION The ten (10) horns of the beast - upon which Babylon the harlot rides - are ten (10) kings [different from the 7 kings in Revelation 17:9-10] which will rule concurrently (at the same time) the FALSE-messiah rules. These ten kings are DIFFERENT from the seven dynasty kingdoms (or, HEADS) on the beast. The ten horns are NOT sequential dynasties but rule at the same time in the ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT [the New Global Governance] ... at the same time as the FALSE-messiah. (Revelation 17:12-13) In other words, the SUPPORT SYSTEM for Babylon will be the coming ONE WORLD SYSTEM ruled by the false Messiah ... or, pseudo-Christ ... [the 8th head from the previous 7 heads]  who arises as an anti-type of Antiochus Epiphanes IV, desecrator of the Jews and of the Jewish Temple. He may be of Greek Syrian origin. The ten kings receive their authority for a while as kings (regional leaders of nations or ethnic groups) with the beast (the FALSE-messiah). These ten kings are of one mind. They are probably Islamic regional rulers and will give their power and authority to the Beast: the false messiah. In other words, they will yield to him and make a pact acknowledging him as world leader. (Revelation 17:13) These ten Muslim kings will turn and hate Babylon the harlot and destroy her, burning her with fire (probably as a result of nuclear attack). This is another way we know that Babylon is a LITERAL CITY. (Revelation 17:16-17 & 18:8-10) These ten kings will also make war with Messiah Jesus (that's a laugh) And, of course, they will be destroyed. Notice that ALL the nations Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) destroys at His second appearance to earth are Muslim nations. All the prophets agree to this. Realize that G-d has put it in the hearts of the ten regional Islamic leaders to fulfill his purpose: to be of one mind, to give their kingdom to the beast, and to destroy Babylon, the harlot! (Revelation 17:12-18) Be at peace! The false trinity ... Satan, the Beast, and the False Prophet ... will all be tormented forever: and all who follow them and take the mark of the Beast. The Beast (the anti-Christ governmental head of the New Global Governance), his False Prophet (the religious head of the New Global Religion) ... and later ... Satan, himself, (the deceiver) will be cast into the lake that burns with fire: forever and ever, time without end! Hallelujah! SUMMARY If you have studied physics, you know that in our lifetime, earthly gold has a half life that will not wear out. However, on the time scale of God, earthly gold has a half life that wears out. Messiah taught us: “I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness does not appear, and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see." THE HARVEST RAIN HAS NEVER BEEN SEEN IN THE EARTH . . . ONLY THE FORMER RAIN! (See the Tanakh, Joel 2:23) Again, the Father’s time scale is different than ours. It is time to use your faith! BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER IDENTITY   There are several keys to identifying Babylon, the harlot. That is, there are KEY scriptural descriptions which inform us as to her geopolitical operations and location. The Ruach Elohim revealed these to me years ago. I had never heard anyone teach about them and I had never read anything written by scholars about these keys. Almost every religious book, article, or commentary only described her as a religious system with  origin and practices evolving from ancient Babylon. However, notice the following in Revelation Chapters 17 and 18 of the Brit Chadasha (the New Covenant, or New Testament): 1. Babylon is a literal city. (Rev. 17:18 & 18:19) 2. Babylon influences the leaders of the nations. (Rev. 17:2, 18) 3. Babylon is a key distributor of immoral [anti-G-d] deception (Rev. 17:2) Note: the word “fornication" is the Greek “porneuo" which can mean “illicit sexual intercourse or prostitution," and is used both literally (Mark 10:19, 1 Co. 6:18 & 10:8, Rev. 2:14 & 20) and can also be used metaphorically to describe spiritual fornication, or idolatry. 4. Babylon is a seaport city or geopolitical coastal area. (Rev. 18:17-19) 5. Babylon is responsible for the murder of G-d’s prophets and all who are slain upon earth. (Rev. 17:6 & 18:24) 6. Babylon is a key distributor of narco-religion: Satanic delusion. (Rev. 18:23) 7. Babylon is THE KEY CENTER of world trade. (Rev. 18:9-19) BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER SUPPORT SYSTEM We read that Babylon, the harlot, rides upon . . . or is supported by . . . a system which has a historical and sequential background. That system is described as a “scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns." (Revelation 17:1-3) In Revelation 17:10 we read of seven (7) heads or kings, five (5) of which are already fallen in John’s day when he wrote the Book of Revelation, one which John said “IS" (in his day, the #6), and the other (the seventh) would rule AFTER John lived. Note: Not that the 7th kingdom would start ruling a little while after he died; but that in the future another world force would rule for a little while. Remember our summary above of the historic temporal or civil powers of the world. I told you to: REMEMBER THE  SUMMARY OF HISTORIC POWERS AS IT IS A KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE SEVEN (7) HEADS OF THE BEAST UPON WHICH THE HARLOT, BABYLON, RIDES! The seven (7) heads are: 1. Egypt 2. Assyria 3. Babylon (the second Babylonian Empire) 4. Medo-Persia 5. Greece 6. Rome 7. Islam divided: Sunni, Shia, ISIS   The sixth major empire and the FOURTH in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was Rome. This was the head, or king, that Yochanan (John) said “IS" (in his day, the #6) ...  which was Rome (the Roman Empire). The term “kings" is used in scripture different times to mean a dynasty or series of kings in a dynasty, such as Jeremiah 25:11-12. Remember, there was en Eastern Division of the Roman Empire (headquartered in the confines of present day Turkey) that existed for another 1,000 years. The beast (the anti-Messiah or false messiah) that was and is not, is himself also an eighth  king, and is of the seven; and he goes into perdition. (Revelation 17:10-11) This is a perfect description of the anti-Christ who will come to rule, and then die with a deadly wound to the head, and then seemingly be raised to life again (8th). (Revelation Chapter 13) The anti―or false―messiah, will receive support from the geopolitical "10 Region Islamic Confederacy" confines of any of the following: Turkey, the Mediterranean countries ... including North Africa ... and the Middle East. Remember, there was an Eastern extension of the Old Roman Empire (with its capitol in the area today known as Turkey) which outlasted the Western Roman Empire by 1,000 years (from the 4th Century to 1453 C.E.). Therefore, the False Messiah can emerge from either the Eastern EU, Mediterranean countries or Islamic countries in the Middle East. The false-messiah (leader of the New World Governance) will then select the religious leader of the world – the false prophet – who may be a Muslim Imam and a member of the Islamic Caliphate. NOTE: The anti-Messiah has a "type" of forerunner in Antiochus Epiphanes IV who desecrated the Jewish Temple and the Jewish People. Check out the abomination that makes desolate. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-5 / Daniel 9:27, 11:31, 12:11 / Matthew 24:15 (Jesus). BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER DESTRUCTION The ten (10) horns of the beast - upon which Babylon the harlot rides - are ten (10) kings [different from the 7 kings in Revelation 17:9-10] which will rule concurrently (at the same time) the FALSE-messiah rules. These ten kings are DIFFERENT from the seven dynasty kingdoms (or, HEADS) on the beast. The ten horns are NOT sequential dynasties but rule at the same time in the ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT [the New Global Governance] ... at the same time as the FALSE-messiah. (Revelation 17:12-13) In other words, the SUPPORT SYSTEM for Babylon will be the coming ONE WORLD SYSTEM ruled by the false Messiah ... or, pseudo-Christ ... [the 8th head from the previous 7 heads]  who arises as an anti-type of Antiochus Epiphanes IV, desecrator of the Jews and of the Jewish Temple. He may be of Greek Syrian origin. The ten kings receive their authority for a while as kings (regional leaders of nations or ethnic groups) with the beast (the FALSE-messiah). These ten kings are of one mind. They are probably Islamic regional rulers and will give their power and authority to the Beast: the false messiah. In other words, they will yield to him and make a pact acknowledging him as world leader. (Revelation 17:13) These ten Muslim kings will turn and hate Babylon the harlot and destroy her, burning her with fire (probably as a result of nuclear attack). This is another way we know that Babylon is a LITERAL CITY. (Revelation 17:16-17 & 18:8-10) These ten kings will also make war with Messiah Jesus (that's a laugh) And, of course, they will be destroyed. Notice that ALL the nations Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) destroys at His second appearance to earth are Muslim nations. All the prophets agree to this. Realize that G-d has put it in the hearts of the ten regional Islamic leaders to fulfill his purpose: to be of one mind, to give their kingdom to the beast, and to destroy Babylon, the harlot! (Revelation 17:12-18) Be at peace! The false trinity ... Satan, the Beast, and the False Prophet ... will all be tormented forever: and all who follow them and take the mark of the Beast. The Beast (the anti-Christ governmental head of the New Global Governance), his False Prophet (the religious head of the New Global Religion) ... and later ... Satan, himself, (the deceiver) will be cast into the lake that burns with fire: forever and ever, time without end! Hallelujah! SUMMARY If you have studied physics, you know that in our lifetime, earthly gold has a half life that will not wear out. However, on the time scale of God, earthly gold has a half life that wears out. Messiah taught us: “I counsel you to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness does not appear, and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see." A review of the historic world powers and their treatment of Israel ... and how New Babylon will arise from the new Islamic 10 nation confederacy.   PREFACE While conducting teaching seminars, and through feedback from the seminars through the years, I have discovered that real growth of individuals who trust in G-d is directly related to teaching concerning end time prophecy . . . particularly as it relates to the time in which we live: the last days. I have seen young men and women grow into seasoned leaders for the Lord in the last 40 years as they learned about the plan of G-d for Israel and for the last days. Because of this I have been instructed by the Spirit to give a brief overview in the next two podcasts. There will be material in these podcasts ... and in the show notes ... that you will probably NOT find in seminary libraries or in Jewish or Christian bookstores, particularly where it relates to Islam. Because of the urgency of the need for this instruction in the Body of Messiah, I will be releasing these podcasts with show notes in a format which you can use for training others in your synagogues, churches or fellowships. The title of this podcast, Babylon, The Harlot, Exposed - Part 1, is just that: I am going to show you certain details of the harlot Babylon that are NOT covered by usual dispensational or theological exegesis. Babylon, as in the past so in the future, is the enemy of Israel ... and is about to appear on the scene. - Prince Handley BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER ORIGIN A summary of the the historic temporal or civil powers of the world is as follows: I.   The first Babylonian Empire was founded by Nimrod. From the people of this empire, come ALL the empires of the world. G-d confounded the language of the people and scattered them abroad to his predetermined boundaries of ethnicity (the nations). (Torah - Genesis 11) II.  The people of Israel were set apart by G-d. Bible prophecy deals with the nations as they affect the Israelites (or the nation of Israel) in one way or another. III. The first major empire to persecute Israel was of course Egypt. This empire was NOT included in Daniel’s prophecy. (Daniel Chapter 2) IV. The second major empire to persecute Israel was Assyria. It was by Assyria that the Israelites of the northern Kingdom of Israel were taken into captivity. This empire was NOT included in Daniel’s prophecy. V.  The third major empire which persecuted the Israelites was the second Babylonian Empire. It was under this empire that the Israelites in the southern Kingdom of Judah were taken into captivity. This empire was the FIRST in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms. You can read this in the Tanakh, in the Book of Daniel, the Prophet, Chapter Two. It was represented by the head of gold. Note: The reason Daniel started with the second Babylonian Empire was that this was during his lifetime and pertained to the interpretation of dreams and dream-visions that dealt with this empire and subsequent empires up to the end times. VI.   The fourth major empire and the SECOND in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was Medo-Persia. It was represented by the breast and arms of silver. VII.  The fifth major empire and the THIRD in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was Greece. It was represented by the belly and thighs of brass. VIII.  The sixth major empire and the FOURTH in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was the Roman Empire. It was represented by the legs of iron and ... NEXT ...   IX. The feet part of iron and clay in Daniel's vision represent a revived Islamic Caliphate in the latter days ... (of which we have entered). It's interesting to note that the etymological use of "arab" refers to the "mixed people to the East of Israel." Iron and clay do NOT mix. REMEMBER THE ABOVE SUMMARY OF HISTORIC POWERS AS IT IS A KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE SEVEN (7) HEADS OF THE BEAST UPON WHICH THE HARLOT, BABYLON, RIDES.   Let us compare Daniel's vision in Chapter 7 (and his interpretation Of Nebuchadnezzar's dream in Daniel Chapter 2) with the seven (7) heads upon which the woman - Babylon - sits in Revelation 17: The seven (7) heads are: 1. Egypt 2. Assyria 3. Babylon (the second Babylonian Empire) - 1st Empire Head 4. Medo-Persia - 2nd Empire Head 5. Greece - 3rd Empire Head 6. Rome - 4th Empire Head 7. Islam divided: Sunni, Shia, ISIS - "Mixed iron and clay" in Daniel 2; "Ten horns of Daniel 7); the Ten Regional Islamic Confederacy. Most students of Bible prophecy agree now that in the last days there will be a reconstituted, or revised, Islamic Caliphate. This is mostly because of the dream-visions and interpretations in Daniel Chapters Two and Seven. Many liberal and neo-orthodox theologians attempt to discount the validity of Daniel as a prophet; however, Yeshua  gave validation to Daniel’s prophetic office when He, as Israel’s Messiah, taught concerning the last days [Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14]. Mashiach Yeshua (Messiah Jesus also referred to the Prophet Daniel in His teaching, thereby giving validity to Daniel as a prophet.) Many conservative or evangelical scholars surmised in the past that the geo-political area encompassed previously by the Roman Empire rule would be revived and be the arena from which the anti-Christ, or false Messiah, would arise. However, certain situations that are being played out today forge an entirely different set of circumstances while still emanating from the geographic confines of Eastern Europe (Turkey), the Middle East and North Africa. May I suggest to you that the predominant force arising from the area of the eastern extension of the old Roman Empire and the Middle East is none other than Islam, a religion spawned in Hell by Satan: a religion based upon the teachings of a false prophet, Muhammad, and the false god, Allah.   NOTE: The majority of soldiers in the Roman Army who destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD / CE were from Syria, Egypt and Arabia. They were transcripts. These were "the people of the prince who shall come" described in Daniel 9:26. Therefore, the "prince who shall come" -- the anti-christ -- will be from the Middle East.   Right now in Europe there are hundreds of Islamic schools. The geographic confines described composed of parts of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and part of North Africa (Libya and North Sudan) will be the sling from which the false-messiah ... or, the anti-christ ... will be thrust. He could likely be of Syrian Greek background. The main point to realize, however, is that Islam will likely be the catalyst which will bring about the one world government.  Let me explain: 1. Muslim terrorism is now global. 2. Pertaining to people in the USA, you are already beginning to see the loss of your right to privacy. The Department of Homeland Security and The Patriot Act - even though established out of NEED and for the GOOD of the populace - are still instruments that can and may one day be used for invasion of privacy of Christians. 3. Islam is the #1 force in the drive to one world government. Islamic terrorism will be the active agent to frighten people into wanting a one world governing body for protection. People around the world will want peace and safety and will be willing to give up their constitutional rights for it. This will be the caveat for the Jews and Israel when the coming world leader (chosen by the New World Governance) tricks Israel into signing a seven (7) year treaty with the conciliation that Israel can build the Temple. However, it will be with a great price. “For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction will come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child." (1 Thessalonians 5:3) Daniel 9:27 and Jeremiah also spoke about this. People will say, “Give me peace . . . leave me and my money alone . . . and let me retire in style." 4. Muslim terrorism is being used in the media to EQUATE to fundamentalism. Just the other day I heard a news commentator say that there are fundamentalists in all religions . . . and used the example of “Christian fundamentalists." The Koran instructs Muslims to kill non-Muslims, and this especially promotes an anti-Jewish, anti-Christian concept! Christian fundamentalism AND Jewish fundamentalism, especially Hasidic and Orthodox Jews, will not only be the targets of Islam, but of an ever increasing cross section of global society. Born-again (real) Christians will not be persecuted because they are Christians, but because they are considered fundamentalists ... terrorists by society at large; likewise Hasidic and Orthodox Jews. Yeshivahs, seminaries, Christian publishers, church movements are selling out and have embraced themselves in the tentacles of the one world religion. One major evangelical seminary recently accepted government money but had to sign an agreement that they would no longer teach students to convert Muslims. Churches are conducting surveys asking people what they should throw out or add in to get people in the community to come to church. Be careful when the world loves the church! Over twenty years ago Francis Schaeffer said, “Americans, just like Germans in the days before the Nazis, will be influenced to give up their constitutional privileges in exchange for (personal) peace (or, affluence)."  What he was saying is that Americans will give up their freedom that was bought with the blood of their forefathers because they don’t want their life styles to be disturbed. They want to be at peace! Dr. Robert Morey believes that this may be the LAST generation of Americans that knows freedom and the first that knows tyranny (via the courts, legislation, and martial forces). He states, “We are living in a watershed moment of history like a Christian ostrich!" And may I say here that Israel needs to wake up and stop giving in to the demands of the Palestinians, the Arabs, the UN, the EU, and the USA. Babylon, as in the past so in the future, is the enemy of Israel ... and is about to appear on the scene. - Prince Handley BABYLON, THE HARLOT: HER ORIGIN A summary of the the historic temporal or civil powers of the world is as follows: I.   The first Babylonian Empire was founded by Nimrod. From the people of this empire, come ALL the empires of the world. G-d confounded the language of the people and scattered them abroad to his predetermined boundaries of ethnicity (the nations). (Torah - Genesis 11) II.  The people of Israel were set apart by G-d. Bible prophecy deals with the nations as they affect the Israelites (or the nation of Israel) in one way or another. III. The first major empire to persecute Israel was of course Egypt. This empire was NOT included in Daniel’s prophecy. (Daniel Chapter 2) IV. The second major empire to persecute Israel was Assyria. It was by Assyria that the Israelites of the northern Kingdom of Israel were taken into captivity. This empire was NOT included in Daniel’s prophecy. V.  The third major empire which persecuted the Israelites was the second Babylonian Empire. It was under this empire that the Israelites in the southern Kingdom of Judah were taken into captivity. This empire was the FIRST in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms. You can read this in the Tanakh, in the Book of Daniel, the Prophet, Chapter Two. It was represented by the head of gold. Note: The reason Daniel started with the second Babylonian Empire was that this was during his lifetime and pertained to the interpretation of dreams and dream-visions that dealt with this empire and subsequent empires up to the end times. VI.   The fourth major empire and the SECOND in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was Medo-Persia. It was represented by the breast and arms of silver. VII.  The fifth major empire and the THIRD in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was Greece. It was represented by the belly and thighs of brass. VIII.  The sixth major empire and the FOURTH in Daniel’s series of four kingdoms was the Roman Empire. It was represented by the legs of iron and ... NEXT ...   IX. The feet part of iron and clay in Daniel's vision represent a revived Islamic Caliphate in the latter days ... (of which we have entered). It's interesting to note that the etymological use of "arab" refers to the "mixed people to the East of Israel." Iron and clay do NOT mix. REMEMBER THE ABOVE SUMMARY OF HISTORIC POWERS AS IT IS A KEY TO UNDERSTANDING THE SEVEN (7) HEADS OF THE BEAST UPON WHICH THE HARLOT, BABYLON, RIDES.   Let us compare Daniel's vision in Chapter 7 (and his interpretation Of Nebuchadnezzar's dream in Daniel Chapter 2) with the seven (7) heads upon which the woman - Babylon - sits in Revelation 17: The seven (7) heads are: 1. Egypt 2. Assyria 3. Babylon (the second Babylonian Empire) - 1st Empire Head 4. Medo-Persia - 2nd Empire Head 5. Greece - 3rd Empire Head 6. Rome - 4th Empire Head 7. Islam divided: Sunni, Shia, ISIS - "Mixed iron and clay" in Daniel 2; "Ten horns of Daniel 7); the Ten Regional Islamic Confederacy. Most students of Bible prophecy agree now that in the last days there will be a reconstituted, or revised, Islamic Caliphate. This is mostly because of the dream-visions and interpretations in Daniel Chapters Two and Seven. Many liberal and neo-orthodox theologians attempt to discount the validity of Daniel as a prophet; however, Yeshua  gave validation to Daniel’s prophetic office when He, as Israel’s Messiah, taught concerning the last days [Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14]. Mashiach Yeshua (Messiah Jesus also referred to the Prophet Daniel in His teaching, thereby giving validity to Daniel as a prophet.) Many conservative or evangelical scholars surmised in the past that the geo-political area encompassed previously by the Roman Empire rule would be revived and be the arena from which the anti-Christ, or false Messiah, would arise. However, certain situations that are being played out today forge an entirely different set of circumstances while still emanating from the geographic confines of Eastern Europe (Turkey), the Middle East and North Africa. May I suggest to you that the predominant force arising from the area of the eastern extension of the old Roman Empire and the Middle East is none other than Islam, a religion spawned in Hell by Satan: a religion based upon the teachings of a false prophet, Muhammad, and the false god, Allah.   NOTE: The majority of soldiers in the Roman Army who destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in 70 AD / CE were from Syria, Egypt and Arabia. They were transcripts. These were "the people of the prince who shall come" described in Daniel 9:26. Therefore, the "prince who shall come" -- the anti-christ -- will be from the Middle East.   Right now in Europe there are hundreds of Islamic schools. The geographic confines described composed of parts of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and part of North Africa (Libya and North Sudan) will be the sling from which the false-messiah ... or, the anti-christ ... will be thrust. He could likely be of Syrian Greek background. The main point to realize, however, is that Islam will likely be the catalyst which will bring about the one world government.  Let me explain: 1. Muslim terrorism is now global. 2. Pertaining to people in the USA, you are already beginning to see the loss of your right to privacy. The Department of Homeland Security and The Patriot Act - even though established out of NEED and for the GOOD of the populace - are still instruments that can and may one day be used for invasion of privacy of Christians. 3. Islam is the #1 force in the drive to one world government. Islamic terrorism will be the active agent to frighten people into wanting a one world governing body for protection. People around the world will want peace and safety and will be willing to give up their constitutional rights for it. This will be the caveat for the Jews and Israel when the coming world leader (chosen by the New World Governance) tricks Israel into signing a seven (7) year treaty with the conciliation that Israel can build the Temple. However, it will be with a great price. “For when they shall say, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction will come upon them, as travail upon a woman with child." (1 Thessalonians 5:3) Daniel 9:27 and Jeremiah also spoke about this. People will say, “Give me peace . . . leave me and my money alone . . . and let me retire in style." 4. Muslim terrorism is being used in the media to EQUATE to fundamentalism. Just the other day I heard a news commentator say that there are fundamentalists in all religions . . . and used the example of “Christian fundamentalists." The Koran instructs Muslims to kill non-Muslims, and this especially promotes an anti-Jewish, anti-Christian concept! Christian fundamentalism AND Jewish fundamentalism, especially Hasidic and Orthodox Jews, will not only be the targets of Islam, but of an ever increasing cross section of global society. Born-again (real) Christians will not be persecuted because they are Christians, but because they are considered fundamentalists ... terrorists by society at large; likewise Hasidic and Orthodox Jews. Yeshivahs, seminaries, Christian publishers, church movements are selling out and have embraced themselves in the tentacles of the one world religion. One major evangelical seminary recently accepted government money but had to sign an agreement that they would no longer teach students to convert Muslims. Churches are conducting surveys asking people what they should throw out or add in to get people in the community to come to church. Be careful when the world loves the church! Over twenty years ago Francis Schaeffer said, “Americans, just like Germans in the days before the Nazis, will be influenced to give up their constitutional privileges in exchange for (personal) peace (or, affluence)."  What he was saying is that Americans will give up their freedom that was bought with the blood of their forefathers because they don’t want their life styles to be disturbed. They want to be at peace! Dr. Robert Morey believes that this may be the LAST generation of Americans that knows freedom and the first that knows tyranny (via the courts, legislation, and martial forces). He states, “We are living in a watershed moment of history like a Christian ostrich!" And may I say here that Israel needs to wake up and stop giving in to the demands of the Palestinians, the Arabs, the UN, the EU, and the USA.
