(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus U.S. missionary freed after 9 months captivity from Niger, Africa On August 14th, Kevin Rideout, a 50-year-old American missionary who was kidnapped in Niger, Africa last October, was released and will be reunited with his extended family, reports ABC News. According to Serving In Mission International, an evangelical mission agency which works in 70 countries, 98% of the population in Niger is Muslim. The mission group said Rideout is “in good health in the care of U.S. officials” and that his wife, Krista, and the rest of his family “are profoundly grateful for the prayers offered on their behalf by people around the world throughout his captivity.” Psalm 135:3 says, "Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good.” Rideout was kidnapped outside his home in Niamey, Niger on October 21, 2025 by three gunmen.  Christian persecution has especially increased in Niger, Africa since 2023 after a military coup led by General Omar Tiani, head of the presidential guard unit, deposing democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum.  After that coup, Niger's new military regime switched its alliances, choosing to start working with Russia and turning against Western allies. Indeed, the new regime ousted Western partners On Truth Social, President Donald Trump wrote, “I am proud to announce that Kevin Rideout, a wonderful Christian missionary, is back in United States custody. Kevin was kidnapped by Jihadi terrorists in West Africa — the epicenter of Islamist terrorism, where there have been more deadly attacks in the past year than anywhere else on Earth. Kevin, the United States of America looks forward to welcoming you HOME. Glad to have helped!” The full details surrounding Rideout's release are unclear. According to the Christian Broadcasting Network, the news comes the same week as the U.S. secured the release of another American, Robert Gilman, who had been held captive by Russia for four years. Gilman's health was failing in prison, and the U.S. and his family said he had been falsely accused and held by the Russian regime for political purposes. Earthquake hit Indonesia A magnitude 7.7 earthquake shook eastern Indonesia early Saturday, killing at least five people and touching off dozens of aftershocks, one measuring magnitude 6.1, reports the Christian Post. Flores island's Sikka Regency, which is part of East Nusa Tenggara Province, was the most affected area, where officials reported the earthquake's five deaths and several injuries. (Sikka Regency is a coastal district on the northeastern shore of Flores with a population of 346,000 spread over 647 square miles.) This Indonesian earthquake comes on the heels of an earthquake in Columbia on August 10th which killed 288 people and another earthquake in Venezuela on June 24th which killed 6,125 people. Please pray that God would comfort the families whose loved ones were killed in these three natural disasters. Dressed as Muslim, James O'Keefe exposes how MN enables voter fraud Investigative reporter James O'Keefe with the O'Keefe Media Group has exposed how Minnesota enables voter fraud by allowing registered voters to “vouch” for up to eight people living in the same precinct who are not registered to vote, reports LifeSiteNews.com. Dressed as a Muslim and accompanied by Cam Higby, who wore a burka, O'Keefe visited polls across Minneapolis and “presented an intentionally extreme scenario to expose the sheer lunacy of Minnesota's ‘vouching' system,” he explained on X.  O'KEEFE: “In Minnesota, you can show up on election day and vouch for up to eight unregistered voters. Members of the Justice League dress up in traditional Muslim attire and put this vouching law to an extreme test on primary day, August 11.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “The vouching?” POLL WORKER: “They're vouching for you?” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “I vouch for them.” POLL WORKER: “Oh.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “Is that okay?” POLL WORKER: “Yes!” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “How does that work?” POLL WORKER: “Well, if you're all in the same precinct.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “Yes.” POLL WORKER: “And you are already registered, which looks like you are, then you, you can vouch for them, as ID for them.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “Oh, good.” KEEFE: “I say they do not need ID. She says, ‘You are the ID.' ANOTHER UNDERCOVER PERSON: “He is the ID.” KEEFE: “I am the ID.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “And no ID needed. I just vouch for them.” POLL WORKER: “You're the ID.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “I am the ID. That's good. How many people may I vouch for?” POLL WORKER: “Eight.” UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “Eight? I can vouch for eight people?” POLL WORKER: “Mm-mm.” (Nodding affirmatively) UNDERECOVER KEEFE: “Eight people. No ID. We come right back. Thank you.” Poll workers explained to him “again and again” that the people accompanying him did not need to present ID to vote as long as he vouched for them and that he could vouch for up to eight precinct residents. O'Keefe explained that this is all legal in the state, citing Minnesota Statute § 201.061 which says, “A registered voter can sign an affidavit affirming that they know another individual resides in the same precinct, allowing that person to register at the polls without presenting standard proof of residence. One registered voter can vouch for up to eight people.” Liberty Counsel urges President Trump to end mail-order abortion And finally, Liberty Counsel Action sent a letter to President Donald Trump and senior federal officials urging the administration to reverse the Biden-era policy of allowing mail-order abortion. The letter is an advocacy measure stating Abortion Kill Pills prescribed through the mail, without an in-person medical visit, endangers women, weakens state pro-life protections, and strips numerous other health and safety measures, the group explained. Under Biden, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration removed the requirement for an in-person clinic visit for the prescription of abortion pills, and the Department of Justice nullified enforcement of the federal Comstock Act of 1873, allowing abortion drugs to be sent through the mail. Since the removal of in-person visits and unfettered mail-order access, data shows the rate of severe complications from chemical abortions, between 2017 and 2023, rose by 13 percent. In his Faith and Freedom podcast, Liberty Counsel President Mat Staver said this. STAVER: “You can get these abortion drugs tele-med without ever seeing a doctor. Used to be that you needed to see a doctor at the very beginning, then you would get the prescription. Then, if you took the drug, you had to see a doctor as a follow-up because you could have complications. Now, there's no in-person visit before or after, and you can get this by tele-med. So, it's become very dangerous.” Liberty Counsel Action recommended “the immediate revocation of the Biden-era policy permitting the mailing of abortifacient drugs, whether by restoring the FDA's pre-Biden abortion pill safety protocols, enforcing of the Comstock Act, or both.” President Trump has previously declared that the states must determine their own abortion laws. In the letter, Liberty Counsel Action also advocated for that stated position noting that “abortion policy should be left to the states,” and pro-life state laws should not be “undermined by out-of-state providers illegally mailing abortion drugs across state lines.” The current policy has “stripped away vital safeguards” leading to numerous health risks, such as:  An inability to verify gestational age whereby pills can be dispensed beyond the FDA's 10-week gestational limit where complications are significantly higher. An inability to effectively diagnose ectopic pregnancies that can easily be mistaken as the effects of the abortion pill, which left untreated, could lead to maternal death. An inability to verify age, leading to potential abuse of minors and violations of parental rights. An inability to detect forced or coerced abortions from abusive partners, traffickers, or family members. Beyond the potential harm to the mothers, the Abortion Kill Pill, which is now used in at least 63% of all abortions, takes the life of the innocent baby. Proverbs 24:11 says, “Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter." Send a polite, 3-sentence letter to Attorney General Todd Blanche, urging him to prohibit the abortion industry from sending the dangerous Abortion Kill Pills in the mail. Around fifty people have died and some five thousand have been evacuated from their homes.Also: Israel has carried out its deadliest strikes in Lebanon for months killing eleven people. Moroccan police stopped hundreds of people from illegally crossing into Spain's North African territory of Ceuta, two weeks after tens of thousands entered the exclave. International observers of Zambia's election have told political parties to tone down inflammatory statements, saying the poll was marred by intimidation, abductions and an hours-long pause in the vote count. The Spanish government has ordered an investigation into the likely shooting of an endangered killer whale that was captured on video with wounds to its dorsal fin. The nineteen year old British cyclist Fin Tarling has died in a crash during the Tour of Portugal race. Mary Anastasia O'Grady, Wall Street Journal editorial board: Venezuela is grappling with the aftermath of severe earthquakes while navigating a complex political transition under the Trump administration's influence. Despite increased oil production, major oil companies are hesitant to invest because of a lack of contractual assurances, bureaucratic overreach, and the absence of a legitimate rule of law. Mary Anastasia O'Grady explains that the current provisional government, led by Delcy Rodríguez, is associated with the previous narco-terror regime, creating a transparency crisis regarding oil profits held in US escrow accounts. While the administration pursues a three-phase plan of stabilization, recovery, and a return to democracy, O'Grady argues the regime is simply buying time to stay in power. As long as oil prices remain high and the US is preoccupied with conflicts in the Middle East, the illegitimate regime has little incentive to hold the free and fair elections demanded by popular opposition leader María Corina Machado. These gangs control up to 90 percent of the capital of Port-au-Prince. They have killed and kidnapped religious leaders and shut down dozens of churches.  Catholic Bishop Joseph Gontrand Décoste told Aid to the Church in Need, “We are the last remaining retaining wall: moral, ethical, spiritual, and prophetic. … That is why they want to eliminate us.” Christians help victims of Columbia's earthquake Christians are bringing disaster relief to Colombia.  A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the South American country on Monday. The quake killed 250 people and injured thousands more.  Many Christian relief organizations are sending aid to the country, including Samaritan's Purse. Franklin Graham, the president, wrote on X, “We … are currently working to put together an airlift of relief supplies, including emergency shelter tarp and hygiene kits. I encourage you to pray for the people of this country.” Hebrews 13:16 says, “Do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.” Send a much-needed donation to the Columbian victims of this earthquake through Samaritan's Purse. Mexican Bible Society translates Scriptures into 8 local languages The Bible Society of Mexico is celebrating six decades of ministry this year. The Bible has been translated into eight indigenous languages in the country. And the demand for Bibles is growing as Protestant churches expand their presence.  Efraín Amaro is the head of distribution of the Bible society. He told Christian Daily International, “In 60 years, more than 374 million biblical materials have been distributed. We have reached 13 cities across the country with service and distribution centers.” Revelation 7:9-10 says, “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, ‘Salvation belongs to our God Who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'” White House Press Secretary Karolien Leavitt embraces motherhood White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, age 28, will be leaving her position to fully embrace motherhood. She and her 60-year-old husband, Nicholas Riccio, have two children together -- their son Niko, 2, and Viviana who is three months. In a Truth Social post, President Donald Trump explained that she “will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” In a statement on X, Leavitt added, “Serving as the White House Press Secretary over the past year and a half has been the honor and adventure of a lifetime. I am incredibly grateful to President Trump for granting me so many extraordinary opportunities, such as working in the West Wing and spending countless hours in the Oval Office, flying around the world and meeting foreign leaders, and traveling across our beautiful country and meeting Americans from all walks of life. “The truth is, since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary. And that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House.” Titus 2:4-5 says, “Train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.” Democrat socialist barely defeated in Wisconsin Socialist Democrats suffered a setback in Wisconsin on Tuesday. Moderate David Crowley barely defeated socialist Francesca Hong in the Democrat primary election for governor. According to NBC, the vote was 39.8% vs 39.3%. Just 3,796 votes separated the two in the statewide race. Leftist candidates had been winning many Democrat primaries this year. Despite being considered a moderate, Crowley believes that killing unborn babies is “healthcare” and must be “protected at all costs.” He made this comment in his victory speech. CROWLEY: “Every one of us has something much bigger to unite around. And that is keeping [Make America Great Again] extremism from bringing the chaos we see in Washington into our neighborhoods right here in the state of Wisconsin. From the very first day that I announced this campaign, I said the real threat wasn't any of my primary opponents. The real opponent has always been Tom Tiffany. That remains true today.” Tiffany, the Republican nominee for Wisconsin governor, is currently a member of Congress. The Washington Examiner reports that new Democratic-affiliated polling shows Crowley beating Tiffany by three points this fall, though the race is within the margin of error. Crowley leads Tiffany 47% to 44%, according to the poll by Protect Our Wisconsin, a group backed by the Democratic Governors Association.  Federal gov't gave mega money to religious migrant resettlement groups The federal government funded major religious groups with hundreds of millions of dollars in migrant resettlement grants. The data comes from Brian Chau, the founder of Efforts News. Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk brought attention to this research in a post on X this week. In one case, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops received over $180 million dollars in migrant resettlement grants in 2024. That was over 80 percent of the group's revenue at the time. The contracts ended last year after the Trump administration cut funding to such programs.  Women hold more jobs than men in America Women now hold more jobs than men in the U.S economy.  A report from Indeed's Hiring Lab found the number of jobs held by men declined by 142,000 between February 2025 and February 2026. Over the same period, the number of jobs held by women grew by 298,000.   The report noted, “More jobs are held by women than men in the non-farm economy, not because of a recession, but because of years of eroding male labor force participation.” Americans become skeptical of capitalism Americans are becoming less positive toward capitalism. A new Gallup survey found 54 percent of U.S. adults said they have a positive image of capitalism. That's down from 61 percent in 2010. Thirty-nine percent said they have a positive image of socialism. That's up from 36 percent in 2010. The drop in positivity toward capitalism has accelerated since 2021. Americans trust small, local businesses and churches And finally, Americans tend to trust small, local institutions, according to research from the Barna Group.  U.S. adults put some of their highest trust in local businesses, individual Christians, and small churches. They put moderate trust in Christian pastors, Christian non-profits, and Christian businesses. On this Make a Difference Minute, I have Wes Madrigal as he shares about the effort he and his family have started to help people in Manizales, Colombia, following a devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake. Wes lives in Colombia with his wife, who is from the area, and their recently born daughter. Although the epicenter of the earthquake was roughly 100 miles away, Wes says the shaking was strongly felt in Manizales. When he went into the city afterward, he quickly realized the extent of the damage. Buildings had collapsed, the city's iconic cathedral suffered significant structural damage, and members of his wife's extended family and several of her friends experienced damage to their homes. While Wes says no one his family personally knows had been physically injured at the time of our conversation, lives have been lost and families are facing the reality of rebuilding. That challenge is made even greater because, according to what Wes has learned locally, many people do not have the type of homeowners insurance that could help them recover from a disaster like this. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Timothy Reed Canada euthanized Christian grandmother against her will The nation of Canada continues down the dark path of euthanasia. This time, comes this shocking story, where the state euthanized Brigitte Stegemann, an 83-year-old Christian grandmother, against her will and the will of her family. On the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition blog, her granddaughter said,  “One of our greatest ethical concerns is that GG had explicitly declined [Medical Assistance in Dying], stating it violated her Christian faith. Once a vulnerable patient explicitly declines this path, the facility should never have targeted her for re-evaluation behind closed doors while her primary advocate was away.” More than 5% of all deaths in Canada are attributed to Medical Assistance in Dying. It is the fifth leading cause of death there. Psalm 94:4 and 6 cries out: “How long shall they utter and speak hard things and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves? … They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.” Severe drought in Europe and blazing hot July in America God has brought a severe drought on Europe. Since 1836, the month of July was the driest for England and Wales in recorded history, reports Reuters. Similarly, the United States experienced the hottest July since 1895.  Also, March 2026 was the hottest March ever — 9.4° above the 20th-century average. Ukraine drone attack killed 13 Russians, injured 75 Ukraine's drone attack on Russia's oil hub killed 13 citizens and wounded another 75 over the weekend, reports PBS.  Russia says they shut down 450 drones. In addition, Russia killed 21 people in Kyiv in this ongoing drone-based tit-for-tat warfare. The changing military alliances overseas Internationally, nations are lining up in allied positions. Just last week, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia signed a pact, in which all three nations agreed that an attack on any of the three nations would be taken as an attack on all. Pakistan's relationship with China has also warmed up considerably.   China supplies Pakistan's military weaponry and Pakistan strongly supports Beijing on Taiwan, Xinjiang, Tibet, Hong Kong, and the South China Sea. If we include China's growing relationship with Russia, this axis of powers now holds 6,100 nuclear warheads in total, almost exactly the same number held by the allied powers of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, India, and Israel.  Keep in mind: God is over all the armies of the Earth. Isaiah 13:4–5 states that “The LORD of hosts musters the army for battle. They come from a far country, from the end of Heaven, the LORD and His weapons of indignation, to destroy the whole land.” Columbia hit by major earthquake Another devastating earthquake hit Colombia yesterday morning, killing 111 people, reports the Associated Press. It was 7.4 on the Richter scale. This follows another 7.5 earthquake in Venezuela a few weeks ago, that killed 5,000 people. Colombia produces 80% of the world's cocaine.  However, Friday marked the first day in office for Colombia's new president —  Abelardo de la Espriella. He is an admirer of President Donald Trump and had promised an "all-out war" on the drug cartels. South America has swung to the right over the last few years. Now eight countries are led by presidents who would align more with President Donald Trump. Only three South American nations are led by presidents that bend towards the left including Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela. Two-thirds of Americans support the death penalty Pew Research has found that Americans favor the use of the death penalty for murder convictions, in line with Genesis 9:6.   A full two-thirds of Americans say they favor the death penalty, and only 32% oppose it.  The numbers have remained about the same for the last seven years. Yet, in the first half of 2026, capital juries chose not to execute the murderer at least 19 times, more often than to execute. Murders in America average 15,000 per year, yet on average, only 23 murderers are put to death.  That's one-tenth of one percent!  And this year, only 19 murderers have received the death penalty.  Genesis 9:6 says, “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in His own image.” Network for Hope shut down for its immoral organ donor system The Department of Health and Human Services has decertified Network for Hope, an organ transplant organization that was exposed for unsafe and immoral practices. Heidi Klessig of Life Site News explained, “Removing Network for Hope's certification was absolutely necessary, but will not address the most pressing problem underlying our current organ donation system: organ donors must be biologically alive in order to donate viable organs.” Attorney General Todd Blanche eager to end mail-order abortions And finally, newly appointed Attorney General Todd Blanche has pledged to work towards solidifying pro-life gains across the country, as well as to end mail-order abortions. Not surprisingly, all Democrats voted against Blanche's nomination.   According to Americans United for Life, “Through his statements and actions as Acting Attorney General, Mr. Blanche has shown himself to be a sincere advocate for human life and a faithful servant of President Trump's pro-life agenda.”  And Blanche himself has stated, “If states have said, ‘We are going to protect the unborn and we're going to protect every life from the moment of conception,' we're putting practices and policies in place so that other states and other organizations can't attack that. Print story United States exits United Nations Livestock group The United States government is pulling out of the United Nations' Global Plan of Action for Sustainable Livestock Transformation, The New American reported.  The decision, announced by the Officer for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Paul Welcher, comes because the declaration promotes climate change, so-called equality, and other radical policies.  Per Politico, “The plan, which is completely voluntary, was finally adopted by delegates on Friday [July 17]. It advises countries to address issues such as biodiversity, animal welfare, emissions and how to prevent the spread of disease.”

U.S. President Donald Trump says the United States is “low-keying” negotiations with Iran as economic pressure builds on the regime. The U.S. military had launched strikes against Iran every day for about two weeks straight before Trump announced a stop in the attacks, saying that they would lead to more negotiations. A U.S. naval blockade is still in effect against the country's ports.“We are low-keying it,” Trump told Axios about talks with Iran. “We are only semi-negotiating with them. We are just watching Iran with its huge inflation and the fact they have no money.”A major earthquake struck the western portion of Colombia on Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), with local officials reporting damage and injuries.The quake registered at 7.4 magnitude on the Richter scale, the USGS reported. It hit about 3 miles east of San José del Palmar in the western portion of the country, roughly 250 miles to the west of Bogota, the capital.

Colombia's search and rescue operations continue after Monday's magnitude 7.4 earthquake, which has killed at least 111 people. The United Nations is now assessing where its presence and resources can be most useful.UN Resident Coordinator in Colombia María José Torres Macho said the Government has already reached out to the UN, and the Organization has teams on the ground in some of the hardest-hit areas – with potential support ahead in food security, health, water and sanitation, and protection.She said UN teams are also beginning to look past the emergency, toward recovery and reconstruction.Laura Quiñones spoke with her about the situation and what comes next.
