Against the backdrop of soaring stock prices and multi-million dollar executive packages, the labor movement is undergoing a resurgence. A Starbucks location in Buffalo, NY became the first within the coffee chain to unionize in 2021, and since then, more than 330 stores in 39 states have followed suit – with more elections underway. All the while, the Starbucks corporation was engaging in controversial labor-busting practices: the National Labor Relations Board found that Starbucks violated federal labor laws and a federal judge ruled that Starbucks engaged in “egregious and widespread misconduct.” Guest Gianna Reeve is an employee of the Camp Road Starbucks in the Buffalo area – and an organizer with Starbucks Workers United. Reeve joins Alec Baldwin to share her experience at one of the first stores to organize, the conditions that led to the unionization efforts, and what the Starbucks Workers United organization hopes for the future. Gianna Reeve is a featured participant in the upcoming documentary “The Baristas vs The Billionaire.” To learn more, visit: www.baristasvsbillionaire.com Originally aired June 27, 2023See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Welcome to Season 7! As we are now a quarter of the way through the 21st century, like Bill Murray in Tootsie, Paul and Corey are asking, “What happened?” This season we are looking at the trends, genres, styles, and more that make up cinema of the past 25 years. Corey takes us back to the heady days of 2013 with "arguably the last good Woody Allen movie," Blue Jasmine (2013). Between Woody, Alec Baldwin, and Louis CK, it's a real Murderers' row of the canceled. Cate Blanchett also returns with another great performance, but is it enough to look past...everything?

Ryan and Dylan are joined once again by Kirk Simpson. Their Mission, should they choose to accept it, is to review Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation, and Fallout in the Mission: Impossible franchise.
Nick is joined by film critics Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy for reviews of the latest cinematic offerings, including Tom Cruise's return in Mission: Impossible, the offbeat music doc Swamp Dogg Gets His Pool Painted, the darkly comic Friendship, and a new installment of the ever-morbid Final Destination series. Later, Esmeralda Leon pops in for a spirited breakdown of some real-life Hollywood rivalries, debating whether to side with Alec Baldwin, Shia LaBeouf, or just back away from the mess entirely. Waldport, Oregon, Fights for Democracy While Attacks on Voting Rights Proceed in Georgia Our esteemed Poet Laureate MIMI GERMAN opens the Green Grassroots Emergency Election Zoom with one of her great poems: “A Thousand Grains of Sand”. We pay homage to BROOOCE SPRINGSTEEN and his stellar defense of democracy as well. We follow with MAYOR HEIDE LAMBERT of Waldport, Oregon and her astonishing parallel fight for democracy. In the wake of a meeting with Christie Brinkley and Alec Baldwin, the legendary KARL GROSSMAN tells us the Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul is now pushing nuke power in NY. The great MYLA RESON fills us in on the latest lunacy from Arizona's Palo Verde nukes, which are owned in part by the city of Los Angeles. Our co-convenor MIKE HERSH thanks Karl for helping to shut the Shoreham nuke on Long Island. Legendary computer pioneer LEE FELSENSTEIN adds his contribution to encouraging organizers of upcoming mass rallies to distribute business cards with QR codes to special websites for further organizing. Santa Monica solar pioneer PAUL NEWMAN updates us on Newsom's attack on renewables, forcing AB942 through the legislature to impose new taxes and charges on rooftop PV panels. Legendary investigative reporter GREG PALAST, producer of "Vigilantes Inc.", updates our understanding of the fascist attack on the right to vote in Georgia. We're then told by MAJOR GAMILIEL TURNER of the disenfranchising challenge meant to deprive him of his right to vote. Our favorite Alabaman DR. RUTH STRAUSS gives a hearty endorsement of Greg's “Vigilante's Inc.” documentary on the destruction of the American franchise. Esteemed anti-homelessness hero DONALD WHITEHEAD joins our dialog on both voting and on ending our terrible homeless crisis. Georgia-based voting rights activist RAY MCCLENDON adds another dimension to the critical discussion about how to protect our right to democracy. Radio talk host LYNN FEINERMAN raises additional critical points on protecting your own right to vote. Our engineer STEVE CARUSO chimes in with his assessment of “hostile architecture” used to attack homeless citizens where they are forced to camp. California's MIMI SPREADBURY updates us with the latest from the Golden State, carrying us to our next meeting, on June 2, after Memorial Day…..IN SOLARTOPIA!!!

This week Holden's back-back again, and he's thirsty for more LPN time as he and MJ try to keep Jackie sane after the very recent loss of her father, so it's time to goss' 'bout the fact that Hilaria Baldwin has come out as having a very special brain which is why she pretend to be from EL SPAAAAAIINNOOOO, MJ started 'Manuel Not Included' and it's causin' them great mental distress but now they're wondering if it's all a conspiracy to let Alec Baldwin do a silly racist accent in interviews?!?!, Lea Michele makes claim she can read, but the lady doth protest TOO MUCH, Jackie's the only one of the three watching the new season of 'The Rehearsal' and she's not sure what the show is anymore, but speaking of awkward humor, she highly suggests Tim Robinson's new movie 'Friendship'. China's first corgi police dog is in trouble AGAIN and no one can remember who picked this article, Taytay got served with a subpoena in the ongoing LivelyxBaldoni case and it's got MJ firing shots at the Beyhive with even MORE conspiracies!, there's a '10 Things I Hate About You' musical comin' to Broadway bein' scored by the one and the only Carly Rae Jepsen, and MUCH MORE! Then a list featuring an actor who ate real dog poop on camera and 29 other HORRIFYING BEHIND THE SCENES THAT LITERALLY MADE ME SICK TO MY STOOOOMACH (per the list title), the Blindz, and a totally remote Jackie's Snackies with MJ's Munchie Minute, and Holden Likes to Eat Two Things....PUSSY & SNACKS from 1:07:03.829 til 1:16:42.609! On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, networks have been on a tear killing TV characters as of late. Shows like 9-1-1, NCIS, The Last of Us, The White Lotus, Bosch: Legacy, Yellowjackets, and the list goes on. But were these deaths necessary? Creatives claim it is a necessary storytelling device, but is it really? If extreme shock is the only way to rev up your fanbase, does it mean that perhaps the show needs better writers? OR do these deaths truly feel tangible and effective? We dive into this topic with mild spoilers for the shows mentioned, so proceed lightly. Also, we determine what TV series would be better if they killed off a lead TV character. Also on this week's podcast: Donald Trump proclaims tariffs for Hollywood films shot abroad, reviews of Clown in a Cornfield, Fight or Flight, Summer of 69, plus we dive into RUST starring Alec Baldwin, directed by Joel Souza this is the film that resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. “Sound Speed Action” is back with the newest episode in our countdown to Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. Now we're entering Christopher McQuarrie mode with the next film: Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation (2015).Writer and veteran Hollywood script doctor Christopher McQuarrie directs his first Mission Impossible and assembles a great team behind the camera to inject more energy into this thrill ride. Joe Kraemer delivers a pulsing orchestral score straight out of the original TV series. Eddie Hamilton joins as the wizard editor (Top Gun: Maverick, Kingsman), keeping everything moving at a fun clip.We talk about what we really enjoyed. Cruise is great, but Simon Pegg's Benji really steps up and commands his scenes. Rebecca Ferguson's debut as MI6 agent Ilsa Faust is superb—she elevates the movie with charisma and badassery. Sean Harris is fun as our super creepy villain, though it's tough to get too excited since the bar for villains hasn't been set very high. Alec Baldwin as Hunley is fantastic, and McQuarrie uses him brilliantly as a way for the franchise to poke fun at itself (“Sir, Hunt is the living manifestation of destiny—and he has made you his mission”). The Vienna Opera House sequence is a unique thrill. Some odd choices pop up—the snakeskin shirt (you'll know it when you see it), and a bad CGI car flip. But honestly, there's not much to knock.McQuarrie's been hyped up a lot on this show already, and now that we're here at his first Mission as director… what do you think? Enough action for you? We haven't even begun yet.Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation is available to stream now on Prime Video and Paramount Plus. It's also available to rent and buy now on all platforms. $34.1 billion Americans are projected to spend on Mother's Day, from overpriced cards to last-minute Amazon fails. Jeff confesses to slacking on his mom's gift (blaming her hip surgery recovery), while Jeremy debates the merits of Trader Joe's $1 cards and sending his money to Elon instead. The conversation takes a hilarious turn as they explore the concept of "self-care" for moms—and themselves—leading to Jeremy's bold plan for a solo cabin-in-the-woods retreat, despite Jeff's skepticism that he'd last 36 hours alone. The duo also gets wild with a story about a bear in Ohio devouring an entire beehive (10,000 to 50,000 bees!), sparking a debate about bear digestion and a new band name: Cartoon Bears Wipe. Finally, they dish on celebrity gossip, unpacking Shia LaBeouf's bizarre revelation about sleeping in Central Park during a feud with Alec Baldwin on a Broadway production. Is Shia a method-acting genius or just eccentric? And would he survive a weekend in Jeremy's cabin?

Columbia economics professor Jeffrey Sachs is now saying he is “99% sure” that the University of North Carolina (UNC) conducted extensive gain of function research beginning in 2015 and that this research led to the development of COVID-19. This systemic issue underscores the plausibility of an accidental release from a U.S. lab like UNC. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the compelling evidence supporting the conclusion that COVID came from Ralph Baric's research at UNC. In today's episode I had the great opportunity to speak with comedian Galina Rivina (www.galinarivina.com) about her ADHD diagnosis and how ADHD has helped her be a better comedian. Galina Rivina is a comedian and writer based in Los Angeles. Originally born and raised in Ukraine, she made it to the U.S. just in time to not have an irksome soviet accent. However, childhood as an immigrant has an undeniable influence on her writing - as does being a woman, navigating life as a millennial, and the day-to-day havoc of human existence. It's suspected that the lingering Chernobyl exposure gave her one-liners and short form storytelling that bit of the razzle dazzle. She has been performing stand-up all over the country for nearly a decade. Headlining in comedy clubs across the US and abroad, including the 2022 Cleveland Comedy Festival, the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Fest, and most recently opening on the road for Preacher Lawson. She has written for renowned standups, including Nikki Glaser and wrote for the 2019 Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin. She also hosts a weekly podcast; Galina Rivina Podcastina.

In episode 120 astrologers Kristina Martin and Tara Redfield take on often controversial Alec and Hilaria Baldwin. This couple has the greatest age gap (25 years) that's ever been analyzed on the show! First, we read Hilaria's chart and see a determined and success-seeking Capricorn Sun. With a sextile from Saturn, it's not a suprise that she started a yoga studio franchise while she was still in college - she has a natural apptitude for business! Noticing her intense Mars/Pluto conjunction there is likely a ruthless and extremely powerful side to her as well, while her Aquarius Moon shows a friendly demeanor and need for community. Looking at Alec's chart, we see an assertive and strong-willed Aries Sun with a sextile to Mars, making him extremely direct and passionate about everything he does. We also see both Mars and Venus in Aquarius, telling us he likes his relationships to be built on friendship and to also have a rebellious and slightly detached nature. Although, an intense Venus/Pluto opposition speaks of control and jealousy issues when it comes to relationships. Together their Cardinal Suns square each other, which inidcates ego clashes and fighting for the spotlight. They also have a tight Venus/Mars trine in air signs which gives them huge points when it comes to genuine physical attraction and intellectual chemistry. Adding a sensitive Venus/Moon conjunction reveals deep affection and comfortability with each other. Can their age gap work thanks to the rare Pluto sextile? Listen in to find out! A richly deserved Pulitzer cemented the legacy of David Mamet's 1983 play "Glengarry Glen Ross," but that legacy evolved during the opening minutes of James Foley's 1992 film adaptation. Alec Baldwin's memorable monologue (a scene Mamet wrote specifically for the screenplay) coupled with a murderers' row of actors, catapulted the film into a highly quoted cult classic. Media veteran Jason Wagenheim joins Dennis to discuss what it takes to get them to sign on the line which is dotted. Coffee is for closers only. Hosted on Acast. Megyn Kelly is joined by Dr. Daniel Amen, author of "Raising Mentally Strong Kids," to talk about how parents are hurting their kids by helping them and doing so much for them, how it's actually a way for the parent to benefit rather than the kids, the keys to raising resilient kids, mistakes parents often make by coddling their children, the key factors of time and listening, how parents can stay involved responsibly in helping their kids when they're older, the dangers of social media, how to avoid raising dependent adult children, the need to notice kids and give positive affirmation rather than only paying attention to the negative, new ways of using brain scans to treat patients, and more. Then Rachel Mason, director of "Last Take: Rust and the Story of Halyna," joins to talk about what her friend cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was really like, the tragic "Rust" movie set shooting that took Halyna's life, why Halyna's family wanted to make sure the movie "Rust" was completed, how "Rust" is finally set to be released soon, why the film was "sad and painful" but also "magnificent" and well-made, how a live round could have gotten in the gun that Alec Baldwin shot that killed Halyna, all the mistakes that had to happen on the set to get to this point, the confusion on the set that day, how the shooting was like "fiction meeting reality," the guilt so many feel to this day, and more.Amen- https://www.amenclinics.com/Mason- https://www.instagram.com/futureclown/Jacked Up Fitness: Go to https://GetJackedUp.com and use code MK at checkout to save 10% off your entire purchaseBirch Gold: Text MK to 989898 and get your free info kit on goldFollow The Megyn Kelly Show on all social platforms:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/MegynKellyTwitter: http://Twitter.com/MegynKellyShowInstagram: http://Instagram.com/MegynKellyShowFacebook: http://Facebook.com/MegynKellyShow Find out more information at: https://www.devilmaycaremedia.com/megynkellyshow
