8/31/26 - Are You Being Lied To About AI? The Reality of Data Centers

    Mark Levin Podcast

On Monday's Mark Levin Show, do you use TikTok, Instagram, X, or any social media? What about a computer? Laptop? iPhone? Smart TV? Netflix? Have you seen a doctor or been to a hospital? Have you driven a car? Taken an airplane? Use email? Congratulations! You use AI! And in order to use AI, you need data centers. Amazing how quickly people fall for lies about data centers. It's the pandemic and fracking all over again. Luddites who don't believe in industrial progress tell people they'll lose their jobs, but data centers will create jobs you've never even heard of. If we want to keep pace with adversaries like China, we'd better ignore the Luddites and pandering politicians and go all in on industrial progress. Also, how would the most advanced society and economy survive without data centers? Foreign countries like China, India and Israel are embracing AI. If they support data centers and America doesn't, where do you think tech workers will go? How do you turn off the human brain? Some say if the GOP loses the midterm elections it will be because of data centers. Wasn't Iran supposed to be the main issue in the midterms? A lot of these Luddites and isolationists are the same. Then, if we hit the brakes hard on AI and data centers, we won't have the most advanced computers, medical care, and other things. Those who oppose data centers haven't lived in a society that put the brakes on the future. They're happy living in the present, but you can't sustain the present without AI. The world won't want our products and services. Or maybe you prefer Cuba with their 1950s Chevys and no medical advances? All great empires of the past, including Britain, are gone. Will America be next? Finally, AI data centers know no economic or social classes. Everyone benefits from them. Yet, the class warfare ideologues want you to believe there are. In East Loudoun County VA, one of the wealthiest and most highly educated populations in the country if not the world, sit the vast majority of our country's data centers -- upwards of 80%. The end-users are of every walk of life. Those who construct the data centers are union, non-union, blue collar, as well as computer geeks and a wide variety of trades and skilled workers. Those who operate them tend to be highly educated in the STEMs. And we cannot imagine how many new technologies, inventions, products, services, cures, enterprises, etc., will grow from this new Industrial Revolution. Caption: 1521 PERSIATONIGHT CONTENTS THE JOHN BATCHELOR SHOW 8-31-2026Tehran Under Siege: Sanctions, War Fatigue, and the Credibility Crisis of the UNEdmund Fitton-Brown details the bleak economic reality for citizens in Tehran living under severe economic sanctions and a low-intensity conflict. Ordinary residents are reduced to driving for ride-sharing apps like Snapp and begging for food due to skyrocketing prices of staple goods like yogurt. While the regime's elite remain insulated, sanctions have severely strained the general population without driving systemic behavior changes. Furthermore, the discussion examines the declining global credibility of the United Nations. The organization has abandoned its neutrality by focusing excessively on targeting Israel and prioritizing humanitarian relief, which frequently ends up diverted to empower oppressive regimes. (1)Demographic Doom: How the One-Child Legacy and Youth Cynicism Threaten China's FuturePiero Tozzi explores China's severe demographic crisis resulting from the legacy of the totalitarian one-child policy enacted in 1979 and officially lifted in 2015. Despite transitioning to a three-child policy, fertility rates continue to plummet due to youth disillusionment. The gender imbalance has catalyzed widespread female trafficking from neighboring countries, while a high proportion of single-child soldiers in the military creates unique domestic vulnerabilities in conflict scenarios. Young Chinese citizens are increasingly opting out of intense economic exploitation through passive resistance movements like "laying flat" and "letting it rot," directly challenging propaganda regarding national rejuvenation. (2)The Domestic Surge: AI Infrastructure, Aerospace Recovery, and US Manufacturing RenaissanceAlan Tonelson highlights the significant manufacturing revival currently taking place in the United States, driven by key sectors like aerospace and artificial intelligence infrastructure. Boeing's resolution of safety and production issues has revitalized aerospace, while a massive buildout of AI data centers has boosted demand for semiconductors, steel, and electronic equipment. Although trade tensions with Canada persist, the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement protects most trade, rendering short-term disruptions minimal. Furthermore, while widespread local protests against data centers have emerged across various states, they have not yet slowed down the overall rapid pace of construction. (3)Middle East Realignment: Iranian Devaluation, Turkish Expansion, and Mediterranean Defense PartnershipsMalcolm Hoenlein covers shifting geopolitical and economic dynamics across the Middle East. Inside Iran, severe inflation, food shortages, and medicine price hikes are suffocating the middle class, prompting harsher internal crackdowns by the regime. Meanwhile, Omani channel shipping flows have partially improved following US-led mine sweeping efforts. In Syria, Turkey is pursuing a quiet military takeover, a move contested by Israel. Additionally, Saudi Arabia is utilizing pipelines to bypass shipping threats, and Finland has joined other nations in defunding the corrupt Palestinian refugee agency UNRWA. Finally, Greece and Israel have solidified a historic $3.5 billion multi-level defense agreement. (4)Cult of Rebellion: Understanding the Resilient and Hostile Ideology of the HouthisEdmund Fitton-Brown chronicles the history, structure, and ideological motivations of the Houthi movement in Yemen. Emerging in the mid-1990s as a Zaydi revivalist cult modeled after Lebanese Hezbollah, the group adopted a highly hostile five-part slogan ("the scream") emphasizing anti-American, anti-Semitic, and anti-Israel vitriol. Over decades of conflict, they waged multiple rebellions against former dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh before forming a tactical alliance with him to seize power. Known as relentless fighters who are always up for a battle, the Houthis harbor expansive territorial ambitions in southern Saudi Arabia, aiming to control the holy sites of Mecca and Medina. (5)Tehran in Limbo: Evaluating Sanctions, Bureaucratic Alienation, and Paths to Regime ChangeJanatyn Sayeh addresses the psychological state of "no war, no peace" in Tehran a year after the September 2025 conflict. The population faces deep war fatigue, compounded by blockades and new sanctions. While sanctions alone cannot topple the regime, they successfully alienate key socio-economic groups. Specifically, lower-level administrative bureaucrats and ideologues are losing their financial incentives and faith in the regime's competence. True systemic change will not happen overnight, but dragging out the process and bringing civil unrest into urban streets could break pro-regime morale and dismantle the kleptocratic elite's hold on power. (6)Deterrence and Covert Diplomacy: Analyzing CIA Trip to Moscow and the North Korean AllianceJohn Hardie analyzes CIA Director John Ratcliffe's unexpected visit to Moscow. Speculation suggests the trip aimed to deter Russian sabotage against NATO, push for a diplomatic settlement in Ukraine, and pressure Moscow to limit support for Iran. Although Russian leader Vladimir Putin remains convinced of victory and resistant to compromises, maintaining deterrence remains critical. Simultaneously, military intelligence reports that North Korea has supplied dozens of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine, with thousands of combat troops potentially deployed, further complicating the global security landscape. (7)A Shift in Rules: IDF's Aggressive Gaza Targeting, Tunnel Demolition, and West Bank Air PowerSamuel Ben-Ur highlights a shift in Israeli military operations. Following a ceasefire, the IDF returned to pre-agreement rules by striking an active Hamas militant at a Gaza bakery. The military has destroyed roughly half of Gaza's tunnels, with operations continuing on the Hamas-controlled side. Additionally, Israel executed a rare West Bank airstrike to eliminate Kais Betawi, a high-value financial and military operative, signaling strength ahead of upcoming elections. Finally, the discussion outlines the total exclusion of the heavily compromised UNRWA from future Gaza recovery efforts, noting that the United States and Israel will sideline the agency entirely. (8)Higher Education in Crisis: Rising Debt, STEM Brain Drain, and Political PolarizationTom Katsouleas critiques the declining public trust and degrees in American higher education despite high spending. Driven by cost, value, and inclusion issues, students face massive debts that delay major life milestones like marriage and housing. Public universities have increased tuition to compensate for shrinking state budgets, while investing in luxury facilities and high-end services. In graduate education, US research programs depend heavily on international students—primarily from China—for STEM fields. However, rising immigration hostility and aggressive geopolitical competition are reversing this brain drain, while perceived progressive bias further polarizes public trust. (9)The Strategic Vanguard: Hezbollah's Regional Reach, Ceasefire Probing, and Lebanese Shia PoliticsDavid Daoud outlines the strategic dynamics of Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hezbollah is currently launching pinprick probing attacks to test Israel's rules of engagement under ceasefire constraints and US pressure. Within Lebanesepolitics, the Shia community remains structured around a symbiotic relationship between the nationalist Amal movement and Hezbollah, preventing any independent Shia opposition from gaining ground. Beyond Lebanon, Hezbollah acts as the tip of the spear for Iranian expansionism, training regional proxies in rocket, tunnel, and propaganda warfare. This veteran, transnational expertise makes Hezbollah an indispensable regional asset that Iran would find impossible to replace. (10)The Silent Drip: Structural Remedies for America's $40 Trillion Debt CrisisThomas Savidge addresses the economic implications of the United States crossing the $40 trillion national debt threshold, fueled by pandemic spending and mandatory entitlements. This massive debt competes with private capital, driving up consumer borrowing rates and depressing real wages through inflation. To halt this slow economic drip, Savidge proposes a "fiscal constitution." This includes strong constitutional amendments, Colorado-style spending caps tied to population growth and inflation, a silent-approval budget commission to enact spending cuts, and strict regulatory limits on the scope of government authority to prevent accounting tricks. In this episode of Verdict with Ted Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson discuss reported Chinese bot farm activity targeting the debate over AI data centers, the political and economic implications of America’s AI race with China, and the Trump administration’s newly announced Venezuela oil agreement. They examine potential benefits for energy production and jobs, concerns surrounding government equity ownership in private ventures, and broader questions about national security, economic policy, and technological leadership. China-linked bot networks are reportedly pushing anti-data center narratives across social media, raising new questions about artificial intelligence, energy infrastructure, and U.S. competitiveness. At the same time, the Trump administration has announced a major oil agreement involving Venezuela and access to an estimated 65 billion barrels of oil, a move that could carry significant economic and geopolitical consequences. Senator Ted Cruz and Ben Ferguson examine claims that Chinese influence operations are attempting to shape public opinion against AI data centers by amplifying concerns about electricity use and water consumption. They discuss why AI infrastructure has become a national security issue, how public perceptions have shifted in recent months, and what they see as the stakes in the competition between the United States and China. The episode also explores concerns about power generation, grid capacity, and the role data centers play in supporting AI development across industries ranging from healthcare to manufacturing and technology. Senator Cruz argues that future projects should generate sufficient power to avoid burdening local communities while delivering tangible benefits to residents. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rick Crawford joins Newt to discuss the bipartisan task force review of the original 9/11 commission report — what worked, what didn't, and what must be built for the dangers ahead. Crawford warns that the post-9/11 intelligence architecture, designed for counterterrorism, is now facing a threat environment that has expanded far beyond it: AI-guided drone swarms, gray zone warfare, cyberattacks on water treatment facilities, Chinese infiltration of agricultural research institutions, and adversaries who organize not around our bureaucracy but around our vulnerabilities. A former Army bomb disposal technician, Crawford brings a "left of boom" mindset to the conversation — and a stark warning: America cannot afford another failure of imagination.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Today we're diving into an absolutely wild romance scam involving a man accused of pretending to be a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver—or, depending on the day, an ultra-wealthy Swiss real estate mogul. Authorities say the four-year scheme targeted at least 26 women and brought in roughly $1.3 million. Apparently dating apps weren't stressful enough already. The details only get crazier. The alleged scam included social media accounts packed with 49ers gear, luxury cars and images designed to make the whole thing look legitimate. According to the story discussed on the show, some of the online material was AI-generated, and the fake identity became established enough online that search engines and AI tools reportedly started treating the guy like an actual football player. Then comes the fake wealth. Screenshots supposedly showed bank and investment accounts containing millions of dollars, and once relationships were established, an alleged accomplice would enter the picture as the “wealth manager.” Three-way calls, fake investment returns and promises of high-yield opportunities followed. When victims ran out of money or started asking questions? Suddenly their extremely successful NFL boyfriend became extremely unavailable. It launches the crew into a bigger conversation about romance scams, our weird relationship with wealth and just how easy it has become to manufacture an impressive-looking life online. Rafe points out that you barely need a real podcast anymore—you can film yourself in front of a microphone, dispense some motivational nonsense and convince the internet you've appeared on 400 episodes of something called The Alpha Wealth Mindset Experience.Okay, we made that title up. But you've absolutely seen that guy.Listeners pile on with stories of fake celebrities allegedly trying to scam people, including Martina McBride and Mark Harmon impersonators. If Mark Harmon suddenly slides into Mom's Facebook messages and needs $700 in gift cards, maybe call somebody. That's the kind of public service you only get from a funny podcast with absolutely no qualifications to provide public services. The show also tackles the old belief that celebrity deaths happen in threes and why our brains are so desperate to find patterns in random events. From there, we discover Goodwill is getting into the record-store business with a media-focused concept called Rewind. Vinyl, CDs, cassettes, VHS tapes, vintage audio gear and whatever forgotten three-disc CD changer somebody's mom finally convinced Dad to get out of the basement. It might be heaven. It might smell like somebody else's basement. Either way, we're interested. Then it's time for Crap on Celebrities, where things get wonderfully messy. The crew gets into music and entertainment news, including Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks. That naturally becomes a debate over “Landslide,” including Lern's discovery that apparently nothing evacuates a Colorado bar faster than putting it on the jukebox. There's also Scott Weiland material headed for release, more Korn vinyl reissues, Limp Bizkit joining Spotify's billion-stream club and the continuing realization that the music of our youth is now getting 30th-anniversary editions. Awesome. Love having time itself personally attack us.Elsewhere, an 85-year-old Donna Mills is reportedly making serious money on OnlyFans without full nudity, which sends Rafe into an impromptu financial analysis of the subscription business model. This is technically economics if nobody from an accredited university is listening. The entertainment chaos continues with Coyote vs. Acme, a creepy movie called Buddy that basically asks what would happen if a beloved children's mascot completely snapped, and news of Tom Cruise returning as Cole Trickle for a Days of Thunder sequel alongside Anne Hathaway. The crew also discovers a movie about the creation of Hooters is in development, accidentally invents an entirely different restaurant concept during the conversation, and immediately starts yelling “trademark” because apparently that's how intellectual property law works now. Finally, we get famous musicians trashing other famous musicians. Jack White versus The Black Keys. Madonna versus Lady Gaga. Elton John versus Madonna. Kurt Cobain versus seemingly everybody. Courtney Love versus Taylor Swift. Nick Cave versus the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And Usher telling T-Pain that Auto-Tune messed up music.Nothing brings people together quite like extremely successful artists explaining why other extremely successful artists are terrible.Fake NFL stars. AI-generated lifestyles. Romance scams. KISS Army business. Celebrity impostors. Vinyl nostalgia. Music feuds. OnlyFans economics. Tom Cruise going racing again. And an alarming amount of discussion about Hooters. It's another funny podcast from The Rizzuto Show, where we examine the important stories of our time and then immediately ruin any chance of being taken seriously.Listen now, subscribe, and come back for more celebrity news, weird stories, pop culture commentary, St. Louis humor and daily chaos from Rizz and the gang.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

We also found out what makes everyone say “Therefore, I’m Out” (Menace’s game) — things like hot honey, murder porn, social-media doctors, “maxxing” and people who won’t shut up about hating AI all made the list. 879 · Return to Progress City: Imagining Walt Disney's City of TomorrowWhat if the most interesting thing about Walt Disney's Progress City isn't that it was never built, but that it was never really finished?Recorded live at the WDW Radio booth at D23, former Walt Disney Imagineering President Bob Weis and artist, architect, and former Imagineer Eric Robison join me to explore Eric's extraordinary new book, Return to Progress City. What begins with Walt's original vision for EPCOT becomes something much bigger: a conversation about imagination, architecture, storytelling, technology, creativity, and what happens when you give yourself permission to start with a blank page.Eric shares how a pandemic project to paint another 100 Mickeys ended at number 38 when his imagination pulled him back to the Progress City model that had fascinated him since childhood. Bob also reveals something remarkable from Marty Sklar's archives: Marty's original handwritten notes from conversations with Walt about EPCOT and the City of Tomorrow. We explore the wonderfully strange Progress City story Bob and Eric dreamed up over pastrami and martinis, how Imagineers move from rough “chicken scratch” to places filled with story and emotion, why Eric believes something human can disappear when we jump too quickly to the computer, the role of AI in creativity, and why even the most beautiful visual idea still needs a writer and a story. And then Bob hands Eric a blank card and asks him to draw the future, right there at the table.I also share something very personal from D23: the release of my new book, The Disney Interviews: Disney Legends Edition. This new 456-page collection preserves 18 in-depth conversations with Disney Legends including Julie Andrews, Marty Sklar, Richard M. Sherman, Tony Baxter, Alan Menken, Joe Rohde, Bob Gurr, Alice Davis, Don Hahn, Jodi Benson, Paige O'Hara, Dave Smith, and more, along with completely new introductions, stories, context, and artwork, along with completely new introductions, stories, context, and artwork. It is available now in paperback and Kindle on Amazon. If Walt handed you that blank page today, what would you add to Progress City?

Boeing's resolution of safety and production issues has revitalized aerospace, while a massive buildout of AI data centers has boosted demand for semiconductors, steel, and electronic equipment. Although trade tensions with Canada persist, the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement protects most trade, rendering short-term disruptions minimal. Furthermore, while widespread local protests against data centers have emerged across various states, they have not yet slowed down the overall rapid pace of construction. (3)

What if the business model that made you successful last year is already becoming obsolete? I recently joined a call with some incredibly successful entrepreneurs to give feedback on a proven business owner's new idea. The concept sounded valuable, but almost everyone on the call saw the same major problem: AI had already made the information he wanted to sell available for virtually free. In this episode, I break down the feedback we gave him and the lens I believe every entrepreneur needs to run their business through right now. I share why people are increasingly paying for implementation instead of information, how to determine whether your business has a real "moat" that AI and competitors can't easily replicate, and why I believe the human experience and human connection economy represents a massive opportunity. You'll learn how to combine your existing expertise with experiences, relationships, and implementation to create something customers will still happily invest in, even as AI changes the rules of business faster than ever.   HIGHLIGHTS The business test that reveals whether AI could make your current offer obsolete. What customers are willing to pay for now that information is becoming virtually free. How to make your business harder for AI and competitors to copy. How to know whether you're building a lifestyle business or something with true enterprise value. The shift that can turn an easily copied idea into an offer customers actually want. Where customers are increasingly investing their dollars as AI accelerates. How to use the expertise you already have to compete in the human connection economy.   RESOURCES Use code CHRIS and save $1,000 on your custom social media strategy with The Brand LAB HERE! 2029: The Bond Market Explained: What It Means For Your Money

If you've been following the financial news lately, you may have noticed something unusual: the bond market is getting a lot of attention. After a year of tariff shocks, interest-rate whiplash, tax policy changes and persistent questions about inflation and the national debt, bonds have moved from the financial pages into the broader economic conversation. And whenever markets get nervous about where the economy, inflation or government borrowing may be headed, attention tends to turn pretty quickly to the bond market.Because this isn't just Wall Street inside baseball. The bond market influences the interest rate on your mortgage. It influences how much the federal government pays to borrow money. It affects companies trying to finance everything from infrastructure to AI data centers. And it can offer some important clues about how investors are feeling about inflation, growth, recession risk and even the creditworthiness of the United States. So perhaps it's time we understood bonds a little better. And I have to admit, after more than a decade of hosting So Money, I don't think we've ever dedicated an entire episode to them.Today, we are fixing that.My guest is Robin Wigglesworth, one of the financial journalists who has been covering these markets up close for years. Robin is an editor at the Financial Times, where he leads FT Alphaville, its influential markets and finance blog. He's also the author of Trillions, his acclaimed history of the index-fund revolution and the rise of passive investing and ETFs.His new book is called A Fabulous Debt: The Epic Story of How Bonds Built the Modern World, and it comes out September 22.And I should emphasize: this is not a book about how to build a bond portfolio.Robin has written essentially a people's history of the bond market — and somehow made bonds genuinely entertaining. The story begins in Venice in 1171, takes us through Amsterdam and the development of modern finance, and brings us to America and Alexander Hamilton, whose decisions about government debt helped establish the creditworthiness of the young United States.Robin's larger argument is that we tend to think the stock market is the star of the financial system, when really the bond market is the foundation underneath it. In fact, as he tells me in our conversation, bonds are the “bedrock that the entire house rests upon.”We talk about what the 10-year Treasury yield can tell you about the economy — and why it matters more to mortgage rates than many people realize. We talk about America's nearly $40 trillion national debt and the big question: At what point does all of this borrowing actually become a problem? We also get into something I found fascinating: bonds have quietly financed some of the biggest transformations in modern history. Railroads. Canals. Telecommunications. The internet. And now, potentially, the enormous buildout of artificial intelligence. There are also fraudsters, scoundrels and some truly wild financial schemes along the way — including one man who essentially invented an entire country so he could sell its bondsLearn more about Farnoosh's upcoming literary workshop Book to Brand. WHAT THIS EPISODE COVERS  Scott Kesterson sits down with Pastor Travis Graham of Valley Grove Church in Thomaston, Georgia — the man who baptized Scott in 2017 — for a deep walk through Romans 1:18-32, Paul's unflinching diagnosis of what happens when a people know God and choose to exchange His glory for other things: ideology, identity in career or children, cultural fame, or sexual sin, all of it landing on the same phrase Paul repeats three times, "God gave them up," a judicial handing-over rather than punishment, letting people have exactly what they chose to the fullest extent so the futility of the choice becomes undeniable. The conversation moves through Travis's own philosophy of ministry — discipleship and evangelism happening simultaneously rather than as competing models, preaching the meat instead of only the dessert so people don't leave "spiritual diabetics," and the preacher's rule that whatever hooks people is what you have to keep feeding them — before landing on the deeper thread both men return to throughout: identity built on football, pastoring, parenting, or any earthly role eventually collapses, and the only identity sturdy enough to survive job loss, empty nests, or a torn ACL is the one Paul claims for himself in Romans 1 — not a title, but Christ. KEY QUESTIONS ADDRESSED  What does Paul mean when he says three times in Romans 1 that "God gave them up" — and why does understanding it as judicial permission rather than active punishment change how you read the entire passage's warning about idols, identity, and unrighteous living? Why does Travis Graham argue that discipleship and evangelism should never be separated into competing sermon styles — and what does he mean when he says a church that only gives dessert sends people out as "spiritual diabetics" instead of feeding them the meat of Scripture? Why does Travis say the easiest part of pastoral ministry is preaching and the hardest part is walking with difficult people — and what does his rule that "people will never care what you have to say until they know how much you care about them" reveal about what actually builds long-term gospel impact in a small community? This is a replay of a live Substack training. Because it was recorded live, you'll hear audience polling, chat Q&A, and time-sensitive references to the 30-day Substack Challenge and its bonuses, but the teaching inside is some of the most complete Kelly has shared on why Substack is working the way it is. Kelly only got on Substack to support a book deal, had zero intention of monetizing it, and then her VP of Marketing Krista realized the platform was a faster, easier way to do everything they already teach about trust-building offers and monetizing content. Seven months and six figures later, they're teaching it. Along the way, she and Danielle bust the biggest myths (it's just a newsletter, it only works if you teach business, it takes too much time), explain why their clients across every niche get paid so fast, and break down the number one mistake they made early on: not turning on monetization from day one. Danielle walks through the full-funnel case — how notes, articles, and campaigns let you do discoverability, nurture, and conversion all in one place, why you own your list, and why "the content is the product" changes everything. They close with the three things that make Substack structurally different from every other platform, and the details of the 30-day challenge built to get you your first (or next) 100 paid subscribers.
