The Uplift app is here! Try it free for 30 days Let me guess. Your eyes aren't even fully open, and your brain is already in a sprint. You've got emails dinging, texts stacking, and notifications shouting for your attention before you've even had your first sip of coffee. Welcome to survival mode. I've been there, and I know how overwhelming it can be. We wake up and immediately start reacting—scrolling, checking, answering, spinning. And it's not just the big stuff. Somehow, that group chat about gluten-free brownies feels urgent. The world starts talking before we do, and most days, it sets the tone. But after years of living like that—mentally fried, emotionally scattered—I realized something: the calm, grounded women I admired weren't wired differently. They were choosing differently. They took charge of their day by setting the tone before the world had a chance to. This simple act of setting a morning intention empowered them to navigate their day with purpose and clarity. They chose peace over panic, scripture over screens, and purpose over pings. And in that choice, they found a sense of freedom that changed everything. Today, we're discussing a single decision that could transform the way you present yourself in every room you enter. Living in a constant state of alert was never our destiny. 836 · Inside Imagineering: Zsolt Hormay on Sculpting Stories in Disney ParksDo you ever walk through the Disney Parks and say, "How did they do that?" or better yet, "WHO helped bring these incredible places and spaces to life?"I was recently invited into the hallowed halls of Walt Disney Imagineering to discover the answers to those questions, and will have a full recap of what (and who) I saw, as well as just some of Imagineering's legacy, people, and projects as I was taken behind the scenes into where Disney magic is made. And while I was there, I has the privilege of sitting down with Zsolt Hormay, Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering and the sculptor behind some of Disney's most breathtaking environments – from the Tree of Life to Cars Land to the floating mountains of Pandora and Galaxy's Edge. I have known of him and admired his work for decades, so this was not only a special moment for me personally, but we had a wonderful, one-on-one conversation not just about his journey from Hungary to becoming a leading figure in theme park design, but how rockwork becomes storytelling, and the emotional and cultural depth behind the places and spaces he and his team create. From the Tree of Life to Fantasy Springs in Tokyo DisneySea, his work is quite literally etched into the parks we love.I also posted the entire video version on the WDW Radio YouTube channel, and will share even more about what I saw, experienced, and learned during my unforgettable visit to Imagineering on an upcoming podcast episode, so stay tuned!
What if one word could change your whole year? In this episode, Randy shares 10 powerful “when” questions that help you get things done, feel strong, and stay focused. From deadlines to rest to your next big break—this one's all about timing. If you're feeling stuck, this is your moment to move forward. You'll leave with simple ways to lead better at work and at home.
How to Change Your Momentum When You're Stuck as a Creative If you're an artist or creative who feels stalled—like you've hit a wall in your motivation, progress, or passion—you're not alone. Whether it's burnout, fear, comparison, or just plain fatigue, creative momentum can vanish without warning. And getting it back? That can feel impossible. But here's the good news: momentum is a choice. Not something that magically returns when the conditions are perfect—but something you can actively create, even in the mess of real life. In this week's Acting Business Boot Camp podcast episode, I spoke with Stephen Ridley, musician, speaker, and founder of Ridley Academy, about exactly that. What unfolded was a deeply personal and practical roadmap for any artist who wants to stop stalling and start moving forward again. What Does It Mean to “Change Your Momentum”? Momentum isn't about working harder. It's about shifting the energy underneath your decisions. According to Stephen, the way we talk to ourselves—our internal attitude—shapes what happens next. He calls it the self-fulfilling nature of mindset. “Both negativity and positivity become self-fulfilling prophecies,” he says. “And both are equally available.” In other words, what you expect tends to be what you get. So if you're expecting things to be hard, slow, or pointless… they probably will be. But here's where this conversation gets interesting. Stephen doesn't suggest “faking” positivity. He actually recommends the opposite. Step 1: Stop Resisting Your Mood When you're stuck in a low state—feeling anxious, apathetic, overwhelmed—the worst thing you can do is pretend you're not. Instead, lean in. “I'll play piano in apathy,” Stephen says. “I'll let myself feel lazy. I'll turn up the volume on the feeling until I get bored of it. That's when the momentum shifts.” When you stop resisting how you feel and start actively creating it, you take back control. It's no longer happening to you. You're the one creating it. That awareness is where movement begins. Step 2: Ask the Question That Changes Everything Once you've moved through the feeling—not skipped over it—there's a simple question Stephen recommends to create forward momentum: “What can I do for you?” Not just you, the person in front of you. But you in the broadest sense: the audience, the community, the world. This question flips your attention from inward to outward. It connects you to purpose. It anchors you in service. And for artists, that's everything. Because the role of the artist, as Stephen beautifully puts it, is not to collapse into the emptiness of life—but to provide the antidote. The Trap of Creative Victimhood So many creatives are unconsciously stuck in a victim mindset. Waiting for permission. Hoping to be chosen. Scared to make the wrong move. But as Stephen says, the longer you wait, the more you stall. And stalling, while it may feel passive, often comes with a payoff: you don't have to take responsibility. That's the truth most people don't want to hear. But the moment you reclaim that responsibility—without shame or blame—you begin to unlock the creative momentum you've been craving. Final Thought: You Don't Have to Wait The most successful creatives aren't necessarily the most talented. They're the ones who know how to take action even when things aren't perfect. They've learned to choose positivity without needing to feel it first. They know how to get out of their heads and back into service. Stephen's message is simple, but profound: “You don't have to find momentum. You can create it. And it starts with one decision.” Want to Practice This Work? If you're ready to rebuild your creative momentum in a grounded, supportive space, I invite you to try a free class of The Weekly Adjustment—my coaching group for actors and artists working on confidence, mindset, and meaningful progress.
Listen to Ashley Wilson, Co-Founder of Momentum and the great conversation that happened. We talked about her career journey from sales and marketing to co-founder status. We also talked about the adoption of AI and how things are changing. For years, in sales we had trouble with the data that lives in conversations on sales calls and in written form has long been left out of crucial follow up by reps. AI is here to help sellers who sell complex services and products assist as the "co-pilot" to take away all of the tedious, busywork of research and note taking. Sadly, a Harvard Business School associate professor reasearched and found that women are adopting AI tools at a rate 25% less than men. Women in business - it's time to dive in! Marc, Kim, Ethan, and the team deliver a powerhouse full show packed with right-leaning insights and unfiltered truth. The day kicks off with fierce criticism of Democrat spin blaming Trump for disasters they helped create, while exposing media bias and failed leadership. They dissect the Epstein client list fallout, Pam Bondi's blunder, and spotlight GOP leaders like Lee Zeldin promising transparency on geoengineering. Throughout the show, heavy-hitters like Mark Cuban and Rahm Emanuel confirm Democrats' fatal flaw: their obsession with hating Trump rather than addressing policy. Polls show Trump winning overwhelmingly on immigration and border security, crushing Democrat narratives. The Department of Education is spotlighted as a woke slush fund finally being gutted by Trump's administration with the Supreme Court backing states' rights to reclaim control. The show tears into Gavin Newsom's political slickness despite wrecking California and warns of a dangerous four-way NYC mayoral race threatening socialist takeover. Fox News' Joe Concha exposes Biden's AutoPen scandal and media complicity while praising Trump's disciplined, loyal campaign team led by Susie Wiles. The podcast blends hard data, sharp analysis, and unapologetic conservative critique, driving the right's message home with clarity and force.
Getting Unstuck with Goal Setting & Accountability In this episode of Tribe Builders, we're tackling one of the biggest things that holds people back: fear. Fear of showing up. Fear of being judged. Fear of not having all the answers. I unpack real conversations with business owners who hesitate to share what they do online—because what if someone questions them? We'll explore how goal setting and accountability can break through that hesitation and how a coach (like me!) can help shift the mindset from perfection to progress. I also share why being attached to your actions—not the outcome—is the key to real momentum. You'll walk away with practical strategies to identify small but meaningful weekly goals that take 2 hours or less—perfect for building habits, getting traction, and staying out of overwhelm. And yes, I share how you can work with me directly—whether it's 1:1 or inside my group—to get the support and structure you need to finally move forward. Single image photography often includes a dichotomy that makes an image successful or not. In contrast, project oriented photography builds a certain momentum over the months and years as candidates accumulate and the project is evolving. Why does using just price data often outperform traditional market fundamentals in predicting real estate trends? In this episode, financial engineer and real estate investor Stefan Tsvetkov explains why relying on price trends can be more accurate than using population, income, or job growth to forecast appreciation. Drawing from years of data modeling and firsthand investment experience, Stefan breaks down the mechanics of momentum in real estate markets and introduces tools for predicting downside risk. He also shares lessons from the 2008 crash to highlight the risks of ignoring valuation. This is a numbers-based look at smarter, leaner ways to evaluate and choose real estate markets. "Momentum is in favor of the market to continue to go up," argues Adam Coons. He says we're back to where we started at the beginning of 2025, with valuations at elevated levels and a "very, very thin" margin of error that comes with it. Adam expects the FOMC not to cut interest rates in July and makes the case that the Fed doesn't need to cut anytime soon. On stocks, he sees financials doing well in the back half of the year and labels Alphabet (GOOGL) as an undervalued Mag 7 company.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. It's hard to argue that times have been tough in the video game industry as of late. Since we last talked Microsoft has laid of thousands and shuttered entire studios. This comes at a time when the Stop Killing Games movement is gaining greater visibility due to the increasingly ephemeral nature of so many releases. After taking stock of some of the Microsoft aftermath, we we take a look at Video Games Europe's response to the petition and what it could mean as an alternative way to think about how games can survive games in a long term way.
If it were easy to rob a man with bottomless resources to steal, it'd happen all the time! Even with superpowers, it's not something you just do overnight. It's going to take at least two nights, and it'll be stopped at the last second by a superhero, usually.
In this episode of the LoCo Experience Podcast, I spoke with Julian Faure, the Founder and Owner of Momentum Counseling and Consulting. Julien is a member of Loco Think Tank's Next Level III chapter and has grown his company significantly, from a start-up solo practice in 2021 to over 100 employees in 13 offices in a few short years. One of the topics we discussed was the challenge of constantly hiring and training and the high rate of burnout in the mental health industry. Julien shared the significance of building a supervisory internship model at Momentum to train new therapists. He emphasized the role of community in mental health and how the decline in organized religion and service clubs may be impacting people's psychological well-being - isolation is our enemy. Julian's life and business journey is inspiring; he moved from France to Florida for college, overcame language barriers during his first few years, and attended law school and practiced law for several years before finding his calling in counseling. We reflected on the factors leading to the immense growth of Momentum Counseling and the risks and rewards of growing an enterprise vs. operating a practice. Finally, Julian shared his perspective on emerging trends in mental health, including the acceptance and benefits of telehealth and the potential benefits of chemically assisted trauma therapy. His is an inspiring and still early-stage journey, with lots of great insights into mental health and well-being, so please enjoy - as I did - my conversation with Julien Faure. Your website should be your hardest-working employee but for many therapists, it's doing the exact opposite. If you're a counsellor, psychologist, play therapist or social worker who feels like their site is invisible, confusing, or just not converting, this episode will be really useful. How many times do you actually attempt to reach out to a prospect before you give up? On the Sales Gravy Podcast, Jessica Stokes calls out a common sales reality when prospecting: “We all know the average salesperson typically stops after three, maybe four attempts before moving on. We assume they're not interested. We want to find a juicier lead.” This common behavior defines The 3-Call Fallacy—the flawed belief that if someone doesn't respond after a few tries, they're not interested. It's where you probably tap out and tell yourself you've done enough. You haven't. Persistence is key. Why Salespeople Quit Prospecting Too Early The premature retreat from prospecting isn't about laziness; it's rooted in fundamental misconceptions and fear. The Fear of Being Annoying The most common excuse? “I don't want to be a pest.” You leave a voicemail, send an email, maybe try LinkedIn, and then you back off. You tell yourself you're giving them space. But your prospect doesn't remember you. When you're looking at your CRM thinking, "This is my sixth attempt—I'm going to tick this guy off," your prospect likely has no idea who you are. To them, today's call feels like the first time you've reached out. The Momentum Killer Spacing out your touchpoints destroys any traction you might have built. Waiting a week—or worse, a month—between messages forces you to restart every time. That familiar name? Forgotten. That compelling message? Gone. Momentum is built with consistency. Familiarity breeds trust, but only if you stay in front of them long enough to become familiar. The 4 Steps of Building a Fanatical Prospecting Sequence The fix? Being fanatical about sequencing. It's about consistent, well-timed, multi-channel outreach that keeps your message fresh and front of mind. Stay Consistent: Don't let more than a few days pass between touchpoints. Regular rhythm creates recall. Think of it like a steady drumbeat—not a one-time boom. Use Multiple Channels: Your prospect may ignore emails but answer LinkedIn. Or they may screen unknown numbers but reply to a personalized video. Use all the tools available: Phone calls Emails LinkedIn messages Video messages Direct mail (for high-value prospects) Track Your True Attempt Rate: Most reps overestimate their persistence. Implement a rigorous tracking system, whether in your CRM or a simple spreadsheet, to log every single touchpoint. Reframe Your Mindset: You're not bothering people—you're offering help. If you believe in your product and know it can solve their problems, persistent outreach is a service, not a nuisance. The Prospecting Challenge Ready to put this into action? Take 20-50 leads and run a sequence over the next 30-45 days. Make contact attempts every few days using multiple channels. Track your progress. You'll likely discover: Responses after 8, 10, even 12 attempts. Prospects saying things like "I'm glad you reached out again" or "I was thinking about calling you back." Booked appointments you never would have gotten with the traditional 3-call approach. 3 Common Personal Objections (And Why They're Wrong) This is where self-sabotage shows up. Let's break down the common excuses: "I don't want to be annoying." Your prospect deleted your voicemail in 10 seconds. They're not sitting there with a map of all your attempts, getting angrier with each one. "If they were interested, they would have called back." People are busy. Interest doesn't always translate to immediate action. "I need to focus on warmer leads." Every lead starts cold. The difference between a cold lead and a warm lead is often just consistent, value-driven follow-up. You make them warm. The Discipline Factor: Every Attempt Counts Just like you can't run a 10K after one day of training, you can't expect immediate results from prospecting. It's a cumulative effort that builds momentum over time.
