Her Husband Was Arrested For "False Charges". Her Journey and Story. In the quiet coastal city of Palm Coast, Florida, Dr. Svetlana “Lana” Kirchevshy-Ur is known for her compassion and dedication. A highly trained Hospice and Palliative Medicine Physician, with an Internal Medicine background and years of experience in nursing, homecare, and hemodialysis, Lana's life seemed firmly rooted in the world of medicine. But behind the white coat is a woman who has been navigating a storm few could imagine. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast interview, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more podcast platforms. Her journey is deeply intertwined with her husband, David Ur, a former Marion County Sheriff's Office Deputy. David's path to law enforcement was not a casual career choice, it was a calling. “He came from a long family line of Police Officers,” Lana recalls. “He wanted this more than anything. It was a dream he worked hard to achieve, even later in life.” The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. The couple moved from New Jersey to Florida while Lana was completing her medical residency in Gainesville. On May 14, 2020, at the age of 45, David was hired by the Marion County Sheriff's Office after graduating from the police academy and completing field training. His first assignment in the patrol division began that August. Her Husband Was Arrested For "False Charges". Her Journey and Story. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . But within months, tensions began to surface. According to David's complaint, his reporting style clashed with the department's expectations. On May 10, 2021, less than a year into the job, David resigned “under duress” after being threatened with criminal charges for making “false reports.” Two days later, those threats became reality. David was arrested on four counts of making false official statements, charges stemming from a drug arrest incident where, according to Lana, “there were no allegations of any crime committed by my husband.” Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. The legal battle stretched for years. “The State Attorney's Office kept refiling and changing charges,” Lana explains. “But in the end, 18 of the 20 charges were dismissed by a judge, and the last two were dropped.” Despite the outcome, the damage was lasting. David remains on the Fifth Circuit State Attorney's Brady list, which flags law enforcement officers with alleged credibility concerns. Inclusion on that list effectively blocks him from working in law enforcement anywhere else. The “Ocala Gazette” reported on October 4, 2024, that questions remain about how the Brady list is applied, noting that some officers with internal dishonesty findings weren't listed, while others were included for what appeared to be procedural mistakes. For David, the listing is more than a bureaucratic footnote, it is a career-ending label. Her Husband Was Arrested For "False Charges". Her Journey and Story. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. Lana speaks about the ordeal with a mix of heartbreak and resilience. “We endured things I never imagined we would, public accusations, fear for our safety, financial strain. And yet, through it all, we had to keep moving forward.” After her residency, the couple relocated to Palm Coast for safety reasons. There, they found an unexpected new chapter. Together, they operate Rustic Dough Works, a pizza trailer that quickly became a local favorite. “It's our way of rebuilding, you can find us on Facebook, we post where we'll be, and the community has been amazing.” But the legal fight isn't over. David is exploring options to return to law enforcement and has filed lawsuits against the Marion County Sheriff's Office. “We believe in accountability,” Lana emphasizes. “What happened to David could happen to others. People need to know our story.” The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Their experience has become more than a private tragedy, it's now a public conversation about law, fairness, and the human cost of flawed systems. Through interviews, news features, and appearances on podcasts available on Apple and Spotify, Lana and David share their journey, using platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to connect with others who have faced similar struggles. “This is bigger than us,” Lana says. “It's about standing up when the truth matters more than the consequences.” Her Husband Was Arrested For "False Charges". Her Journey and Story. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. From a respected physician's office to the heat of a pizza oven, from the streets of Marion County to the feeds of social media, their story is a reminder that resilience can take many forms. And while the scars of the past remain, the future is still unwritten. Background song Hurricane is used with permission from the band Dark Horse Flyer. The forceful music that rolled out of Muscle Shoals in the 1960s and 1970s shaped hits by everyone from Wilson Pickett and Aretha Franklin to the Rolling Stones and Paul Simon. Christopher M. Reali's in-depth look at the fabled musical hotbed examines the events and factors that gave the Muscle Shoals sound such a potent cultural power. Many artists trekked to FAME Studios and Muscle Shoals Sound in search of the sound of authentic southern Black music—and at times expressed shock at the mostly white studio musicians waiting to play it for them. Others hoped to draw on the hitmaking production process that defined the scene. Reali also chronicles the overlooked history of Muscle Shoals's impact on country music and describes the region's recent transformation into a tourism destination. Multifaceted and informed, Music and Mystique in Muscle Shoals (University of Illinois Press, 2022) reveals the people, places, and events behind one of the most legendary recording scenes in American history. Dr. Christopher Reali is an assistant professor of music at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Emily Ruth Allen (@emmyru91) holds a Ph.D. in musicology from Florida State University. Her current research focuses on parade musics in Mobile, Alabama's carnival. Learn more about your ad choices. In 1991, a New Jersey carnival ended in heartbreak. Five-year-old Timothy Wiltsey vanished while in the care of his mother, Michelle Lodzinski. Her shifting stories only deepened suspicion, first claiming he was kidnapped, then offering other versions of events. A year later, his remains were found near her workplace.Decades passed before Michelle was convicted of murder, only for the state's Supreme Court to overturn it, erasing the verdict forever. With double jeopardy protecting her, she will never face trial again.Did a mother get away with killing her child, or did the system fail an innocent woman? This is the mystery that still haunts New Jersey.Follow True Crime Recaps for weekly cases that shock, disturb, and challenge what we think we know about justice.

At Baladna Bakery on Main Street, two brothers—Abed and Mohammad Assad—became the targets of a violent attack by a customer furious over a sandwich they had served four years earlier. But not just any table, it was a console table that from previous videos, is not secured to the ground and is in no way stable enough to be used as a dining table in a high traffic coffee shop. But rather than apologize, the owners demanded the mother provide them with her ID and credit card to cover the cost of the table, while seemingly taking zero responsibility for what could have been a much more serious situation in which they hold all the liability. In this episode of the Parsha Review Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores Parshas Eikev, the third portion in the Book of Deuteronomy, rich with divine guidance for the Jewish people as they prepare to enter the Land of Israel. Rabbi Wolbe begins with Deuteronomy 7:12, which promises that observing and performing God's commandments (mitzvot) will ensure the fulfillment of the covenant and blessings promised to the patriarchs. Rashi interprets “Eikev” (meaning “heel”) as a call to value even the seemingly minor mitzvot that one might “trample” underfoot, emphasizing that every commandment holds profound significance. Rabbi Wolbe addresses why God's promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob focus solely on the Land of Israel, not the Torah, explaining that the Land is Hashem's palace, and the Torah is the manual for proper conduct within it. The Torah's observance is implied as essential for dignified living in this sacred space. He highlights Deuteronomy 8:10, recited in Birkat Hamazon (Grace After Meals), which instructs to bless Hashem for the “good land” after eating, noting the Zohar's teaching that all global blessings flow through Israel.Rabbi Wolbe shares a story of a rabbi illustrating the biblical obligation to thank God after eating, contrasting it with the rabbinic blessing before meals, and recounts the Ger Rebbe's insight that gratitude (Modim) outweighs requests in prayer, as seen in the Hallel prayer's emphasis on thanking Hashem. He underscores the importance of Birkat Hamazon as a biblical commandment that ensures livelihood and success when recited with focus, per the Sefer Hachinuch. Rabbi Wolbe encourages listeners to embrace gratitude for life's blessings—food, taste, and sustenance—recognizing them as divine gifts channeled through the Land of Israel, and to approach Birkat Hamazon as a highlight of spiritual connection, not a rushed obligation. What do you get when a 63-year-old gay man becomes the adoptive father of a homeless 21-year-old gay teen? You get a story that redefines family, masculinity, and what it means to show the hell up for someone. In this episode, I sit down with Brian Gorman—maverick coach, neuroscience nerd, and proud single dad—to talk about the unexpected journey that changed both his and Brandon's lives. From a high school photography project to full-on parenthood, Brian shares the raw, deeply human story of stepping in when no one else would. We also dive into: • Why chosen family isn't just a buzzword—it's survival.• How queer men can heal the past and rewrite their story at any age.• How neuroscience can actually change the way we handle life, love, and everything in between. This one's for the misfits, the late bloomers, the dads we never had—and the men we still have time to become. About Brian and Brandon Gorman Brian Gorman is a gay senior (75) and the single father of Brandon. Brandon first came into Brian's life shortly before he turned 16. They shared a love of photography, and Brandon reached out to Brian to interview him for a school photography project. When Brandon revealed that he was abused at home and assaulted at school, Brian offered to stay in touch. Over the next two years, their bod tightened as Brian helped Brandon prepare for his SATs, complete his college and scholarship applications, and do campus visits. Brandon was living with his birth mother at the time, and she wanted no part of her gay son's life. When she threw Brandon out three months before his high school graduation, Brian took him in. Brian adopted Brandon when he was 21; Brian was 63. Today, Brian and Brandon share a home in Hoboken, New Jersey. Connect With Brian Website LinkedIn Hey Guys, Check This Out! He highlights Deuteronomy 8:10, recited in Birkat Hamazon (Grace After Meals), which instructs to bless Hashem for the “good land” after eating, noting the Zohar's teaching that all global blessings flow through Israel. Rabbi Wolbe shares a story of a rabbi illustrating the biblical obligation to thank God after eating, contrasting it with the rabbinic blessing before meals, and recounts the Ger Rebbe's insight that gratitude (Modim) outweighs requests in prayer, as seen in the Hallel prayer's emphasis on thanking Hashem. He concludes with a blessing for a Shabbos filled with abundance and divine goodness._____________This episode (Ep 7.42) of the Parsha Review Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe on Parshas Eikev is dedicated in honor of our Holy Soldiers in the Battlefield and our Torah Scholars in the Study Halls who are fighting for the safety of our nation!Download & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Studios (C) to an online TORCHzoom.com audience on August 15, 2025, in Passaic, New Jersey.Released as Podcast on August 15, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! During the annual World Series of Birding in New Jersey, US, teams compete to see who can identify the most bird species in 24 hours. For team Galbatross the goal is different and much harder - they only identify female birds. This self-imposed restriction is a form of activism, calling into question centuries of ornithology that has focused primarily on male birds, with their bright plumage, elaborate dances, and loud songs. We follow team Galbatross as they attempt to break their own record for the most female birds spotted during the World Series of Birding. We also hear from scientists and birders alike about how we got where we are, and how expanding science to be more inclusive of species of all genders can change our perspective on ourselves and the environment.

I'm Nicholas Gordon, host of the Asian Review of Books podcast, done in partnership with the New Books Network. On this show, we interview authors writing in, around, and about the Asia-Pacific region. How do you tell the story of India–not just the modern-day country, but the whole region of South Asia, home to over two billion people? Historian Audrey Truschke's newest book, India: 5,000 Years of History on the Subcontinent (Princeton UP, 2025), starts at the very beginning: the rise of the Indus Valley Civilization, of which we still know frustratingly little. Her book covers millennia of history–the Vedas, Ashoka, the rise of Buddhism and Islam, the Mughals, the Marathas, the Company, and then newly independent India. Audrey Truschke is Professor of South Asian History at Rutgers University in Newark, New Jersey. Her research focuses on the cultural, imperial, and intellectual history of medieval and early modern India as well as the politics of history in modern times. She is the author of four books. London-based business and culture journalist Prarthana Prakash joins me on the show today as a guest host. Find her on Linkedin. Hour 3 kicks off with former Missouri Senator Jim Talent dissecting the Trump-Putin summit, calling out Putin's attempts to gain concessions without negotiations while Trump handles sanctions with strategic precision. Talent then shifts to Washington, DC, exposing how Democrats' mishandling of crime leaves cities unsafe and opens the door for federal intervention. The mood lightens with a Styx ticket giveaway, but Marc pivots to a USPS audit revealing record-setting delayed mail in St. Louis, and highlights the Kansas City Chiefs' $25,000 donation to Missouri House Republicans right after a billion-dollar stadium funding bill—showing how politics and money intertwine. Finally, Kim Otto Webb tackles a new New Jersey law holding parents accountable for repeated juvenile offenses, debating how tougher rules might actually teach kids and families responsibility in today's permissive culture.
Hour 1 explodes into the Smithsonian controversy, with Marc and Kim shredding claims that Trump is erasing slavery and challenging the 1619 Project narrative. Jillian Michaels slams liberal talking points on slavery and gender in sports, armed with facts and her defiant identity. Marc wraps with the announcement of Scott Jennings' conservative show joining 97.1 FM. Hour 2 blends humor and politics: Mark gives shoutouts to local events, teases a big fall 97.1 gathering, and vents about sports disappointments, including the Cardinals' loss and Yankees plans. Politics heat up with Geraldo Rivera on DC crime, JB Pritzker on abortion, and socialist Zoran Mamdani's radical rent-freeze proposal. Alex Tarascio weighs in on Trump's back-to-back meetings with Putin and Zelensky, while Tom Ackerman breaks down Cardinals and Mizzou football, with lighter news on pythons, McDonald's prices, and a 2026 UFC White House event. Hour 3 focuses on strategy and accountability: Former Senator Jim Talent praises Trump's negotiation skills while exposing DC crime mishandling by Democrats. A Styx ticket giveaway lightens the mood before USPS delays and the Kansas City Chiefs' political donation highlight the intersection of money and politics. Kim Otto Webb debates new juvenile accountability laws in New Jersey, weighing responsibility versus today's permissive culture. Hour 4 reflects on August racing by, Kim's maternity leave, and Dan Buck covering in her absence. Crime dominates, with alarming DC statistics, Shannon Bream praising Trump's leadership and Alaska summit diplomacy, and Griff Jenkins reporting firsthand on repeat offenders and carjackings fueled by weak local prosecution. Trump's common-sense federal intervention contrasts sharply with local failures. The hour closes with bombshells from Cash Patel and John Solomon exposing Obama DOJ officials, including Sally Yates and Andrew McCabe, blocking FBI investigations into the Clinton Foundation—parallels drawn to current alleged corruption—and previews of Brian Kilmeade's coverage.
This Day in Legal History: Social Security ActOn August 14, 1935, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act into law, establishing the foundation of the modern American welfare state. The legislation was a centerpiece of Roosevelt's New Deal and aimed to address the widespread economic insecurity caused by the Great Depression. For the first time, the federal government created a structured system of unemployment insurance and old-age pensions, funded by payroll taxes collected from workers and employers. The law also introduced Aid to Dependent Children, a program designed to support families headed by single mothers, later expanded into Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC).The Act marked a major shift in federal involvement in individual economic welfare and signaled a broader acceptance of the idea that the government bears some responsibility for the financial well-being of its citizens. Though limited in scope at first—agricultural and domestic workers, for example, were excluded—the framework it established would evolve through amendments and court challenges over the following decades. The Social Security Act was challenged on constitutional grounds shortly after its passage, but the Supreme Court upheld its key provisions in Helvering v. Davis (1937), affirming Congress's power to spend for the general welfare. Over time, the Social Security program expanded to include disability insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. While the structure and funding of these programs remain a subject of political debate, the 1935 Act remains one of the most enduring and significant pieces of social legislation in U.S. history.A Texas state court has appointed a receiver to take control of Alex Jones' company, Free Speech Systems LLC, the parent of his Infowars show, in an effort to collect on $1.3 billion in defamation judgments related to his false claims about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting. Judge Maya Guerra Gamble granted the request from families of victims in the Connecticut case, authorizing receiver Gregory S. Milligan to manage and potentially liquidate the company's assets. Another hearing is scheduled for September 16 to determine whether the Texas-based judgments should also be placed under receivership.Jones, who has been in personal bankruptcy since 2022, has been shielded from immediate collection on many of these judgments, but his company's Chapter 11 case was dismissed in 2024, giving a separate bankruptcy trustee limited control over its assets. The receiver now has authority, subject to that trustee's approval, to pursue the sale of Infowars' media assets, access financial records, and initiate legal actions to recover property.Attorneys for the Sandy Hook families hailed the order as a major step toward accountability. Meanwhile, Jones' legal team plans to appeal, arguing the court was misled about prior bankruptcy rulings. Jones is also seeking U.S. Supreme Court review of the Connecticut judgment, with a filing deadline set for September 5.Alex Jones' Infowars Assets to Be Taken Over by Receiver (1)A federal judge in Philadelphia struck down Trump administration rules that allowed employers to deny birth control coverage based on religious or moral objections. U.S. District Judge Wendy Beetlestone ruled that the 2018 exemptions were not justified and found a disconnect between the sweeping scope of the rules and the limited number of employers likely to need them. The ruling came in a case brought by Pennsylvania and New Jersey, which previously reached the U.S. Supreme Court. The Court upheld the rules on procedural grounds in 2020 but did not evaluate their substance. The Affordable Care Act mandates contraception coverage in employer health plans, with narrow exemptions for religious organizations. The Trump administration expanded this to a broader class of employers, arguing that even applying for exemptions could burden religious practice. Judge Beetlestone disagreed, saying the administration failed to show a rational link between the perceived issue and its response. The Biden administration had proposed reversing the Trump-era policy in 2023, but that effort stalled before Biden left office. The Little Sisters of the Poor, a Catholic group involved in defending the rules, plans to appeal the new decision. The Department of Justice has not yet commented on the ruling.US judge blocks Trump religious exemption to birth control coverage | ReutersPresident Trump revoked a 2021 executive order issued by then-President Joe Biden that aimed to promote competition across the U.S. economy. Biden's order targeted anti-competitive practices in sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and labor, and was a key element of his economic agenda. It included efforts to reduce consumer costs by curbing monopolistic behavior and increasing oversight of mergers.Trump's administration criticized the Biden-era approach as overly restrictive and burdensome. The Justice Department, under Trump, endorsed the revocation, stating it would pursue an “America First Antitrust” strategy focused on market freedom and less regulatory interference. Officials also announced plans to streamline the Hart-Scott-Rodino merger review process and reinstate targeted consent decrees to address specific anti-competitive behavior.Critics argue the revocation will weaken protections for consumers and small businesses. A June 2025 report by advocacy groups estimated that dismantling consumer protection policies, including those from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, has cost Americans at least $18 billion through higher fees and lost compensation. Trump has also taken steps to drastically reduce the CFPB's workforce.Former Biden competition policy director Hannah Garden-Monheit condemned the move, claiming it contradicts Trump's promise to support everyday Americans and instead benefits large corporations.Trump revokes Biden-era order on competition, White House says | ReutersA federal judge in Texas dismissed a lawsuit filed by video-sharing platform Rumble, which had accused major advertisers—Diageo, WPP, and the World Federation of Advertisers—of conspiring to boycott the platform by withholding ad spending. U.S. District Judge Jane Boyle ruled that the Northern District of Texas was not the appropriate venue for the case, as the defendants are based in the UK and Belgium. Her decision did not address the substance of Rumble's antitrust claims.Rumble's lawsuit alleged that the advertisers participated in a “brand-safety” initiative through the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, which it claims was used to pressure platforms like Rumble—known for minimal content moderation—into compliance or risk being excluded from ad budgets. The defendants countered that business decisions not to advertise on Rumble were based on brand protection and had nothing to do with collusion or a boycott.Judge Boyle noted it remains an "open question" whether the Texas court is the right venue for a similar lawsuit brought by Elon Musk's social media platform X, which is also pending. The advertisers argued Rumble's legal action was a misuse of antitrust laws intended to force companies to do business with it.US judge tosses Rumble lawsuit claiming advertising boycott | ReutersA federal appeals court ruled in favor of President Donald Trump, allowing him to halt billions in foreign aid payments that had been previously approved by Congress. In a 2-1 decision, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals lifted an injunction issued by a lower court that had ordered the administration to resume nearly $2 billion in aid. The aid freeze was initiated on January 20, 2025—Trump's first day of his second term—through an executive order and followed by significant staffing and structural changes to USAID, the government's main foreign aid agency. The lawsuit challenging the freeze was brought by two nonprofit organizations that depend on federal funding: the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition and Journalism Development Network. The appeals court, however, ruled that the groups lacked legal standing to challenge the freeze and that only the Government Accountability Office, a congressional watchdog, had authority to do so.Judge Karen Henderson, writing for the majority, explicitly stated the court was not deciding whether Trump's actions violated the Constitution's separation of powers or Congress's control over federal spending. In a sharp dissent, Judge Florence Pan argued the decision undermined the Constitution's checks and balances and enabled unlawful executive overreach.A White House spokesperson praised the ruling, framing it as a victory against "radical left" interference and a step toward aligning foreign aid spending with Trump's "America First" agenda.US appeals court lets Trump cut billions in foreign aid | Reuters This is a public episode.
