Fertilizer is essential to feeding America, and it all begins with natural gas. On this episode of American Potential, host David From sits down with Perry Babb, CEO of Keystate Energy, to explain how modern fertilizer is made, why energy policy directly affects food prices, and how the U.S. became dependent on foreign fertilizer despite abundant domestic resources. Perry breaks down the science behind ammonia and nitrogen fertilizer, the role of natural gas as a critical input, and why current supply chains leave American farmers exposed to global instability. Perry also shares his entrepreneurial journey—from international humanitarian work to building large-scale energy and fertilizer projects—and explains why domestic production is key to U.S. food security, energy independence, and national security. As demand grows from data centers, AI, and advanced manufacturing, this conversation highlights how smarter energy policy and reduced red tape can lower costs, strengthen rural economies, and keep America competitive.

You're about to hear one of the most honest longevity conversations ever recorded. This co hosted episode brings together two longevity leaders with opposing views on how long humans can live, yet enormous respect for each other and the science. Recorded live at Eudemonia, this discussion gives you clear frameworks for longevity, biohacking, human performance, and anti aging without all the tribal thinking that can plague modern health conversations! Watch this episode on YouTube for the full video experience: https://www.youtube.com/@DaveAspreyBPR Host Dave Asprey sits down with Dan Buettner for a rare co hosted podcast that explores where biohacking and Blue Zones philosophy clash and where they surprisingly align. Dan Buettner is a National Geographic Explorer, Emmy Award winning producer, and five time New York Times bestselling author. He is best known for identifying the Blue Zones, regions of the world where people live the longest and healthiest lives. His research has reshaped cities, healthcare systems, and insurance models across the United States, improving health outcomes for more than 10 million Americans. His Netflix series Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones earned six Emmy nominations and won three. Dan is also an accomplished endurance athlete with three Guinness World Records in distance cycling. Together, Dave and Dan debate the true limits of human lifespan, whether longevity is driven more by environment or intervention, and how modern tools like AI, functional medicine, supplements, fasting, ketosis, and sleep optimization compare to walkable communities, movement, and purpose. They explore mitochondria, neuroplasticity, metabolism, brain optimization, and why Smarter Not Harder applies whether you follow a carnivore leaning diet, a bean based diet, or something in between. This episode gives you both sides of the longevity argument and lets you decide what fits your biology, values, and goals. You'll Learn: • Why Dan believes average human lifespan likely tops out in the mid 90s and how Blue Zones support longevity without chronic disease • Why Host Dave Asprey believes biohacking, AI, and modern science could push longevity toward 150, 180, or beyond • How environmental design hacks unconscious behavior more effectively than willpower • The overlooked role of light, darkness, and circadian rhythm in sleep optimization and human performance • How fasting and ketosis support longevity when used strategically instead of obsessively • Why mitochondria signaling may matter more than fixing every cell individually • How neuroplasticity and brain optimization influence aging and resilience • Where supplements and nootropics help and where simplicity wins • The real debate around carnivore diets, carbs, beans, metabolism, and longevity • Why community, purpose, and movement remain foundational even in advanced biohacking • How Danger Coffee fits into energy, focus, and Smarter Not Harder performance strategies Dave Asprey is a four time New York Times bestselling author, founder of Bulletproof Coffee, and the father of biohacking. With over 1,000 interviews and 1 million monthly listeners, The Human Upgrade is the top podcast for people who want to take control of their biology, extend their longevity, and optimize every system in the body and mind. Each episode features cutting edge insights in health, performance, neuroscience, supplements, nutrition, hacking, emotional intelligence, and conscious living. My guest today is Reed Hastings, the co-founder and former longtime CEO of Netflix. Netflix is an example of two ideas that everyone talks about, but are extremely hard to do in practice. The first is finding a simple idea and taking it extraordinarily seriously. Reed talks about how even the DVD business was nothing more than a stepping stone toward streaming, which they envisioned from the company's inception in 1997. The second is talent density, and what it actually takes to set and sustain an exceptionally high bar over decades as a company grows.  We talk about how those ideas shaped Netflix's culture and strategy, what Reed learned from mistakes like Qwikster, and why Netflix treated content like a venture portfolio. We also discuss Reed's work today. He shares how he's thinking about AI, what he's learned from serving on the boards of Microsoft, Meta, Anthropic, and Bloomberg, and what excites him about Powder Mountain, the ski resort he acquired after Netflix. Please enjoy my conversation with Reed Hastings. It's become increasingly clear that the Turing Test -- determining whether human interlocutors can tell whether a conversation is being carried out by a human or a machine -- is not a good way to think about consciousness. Modern LLMs can mimic human conversation with extraordinary verisimilitude, but most people would not judge them to be conscious. What would it take? Is it even possible for a computer program to achieve consciousness, or must consciousness be fundamentally "meat-based"? Philosopher Ned Block has long argued that consciousness involves something more than simply the "functional" aspects of inputs and outputs.Blog post with transcript: https://www.preposterousuniverse.com/podcast/2026/01/05/339-ned-block-on-whether-consciousness-requires-biology/Support Mindscape on Patreon.Ned Block received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Harvard University. Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Kevin Cohee. Purpose of the Interview The interview aimed to: Highlight OneUnited Bank’s mission as the largest Black-owned and first Black-owned internet bank in America. Educate listeners on financial literacy, technology-driven banking, and economic empowerment in underserved communities. Promote OneUnited Bank’s products and services as solutions for financial challenges faced by Black Americans and others lacking access to traditional banking. Key Takeaways Historical Context & Mission The concept of a national Black-owned bank dates back to leaders like Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. Du Bois, and Martin Luther King Jr., who emphasized economic empowerment. OneUnited Bank was formed through acquisitions and later pivoted to technology-driven banking. Technology & Innovation OneUnited embraced AI and data aggregation over a decade ago to create products that help customers understand assets, liabilities, and net worth in real time. Banking has shifted from physical branches to digital platforms, enabling nationwide access. Financial Literacy Crisis 90% of Americans lack financial literacy, largely because it’s not taught in schools. Cohee advocates for mandatory K–12 financial literacy education, citing studies showing it can add $126,000 to lifetime net worth. Products Designed for Real Needs CashPlease: Short-term emergency loans at affordable rates. Second Chance Checking: Helps rebuild credit. Savings Programs: Often in collaboration with employers. These products address real-life challenges like low emergency savings and predatory check-cashing fees. Accessibility & Reach OneUnited offers nationwide banking via oneunited.com, surcharge-free ATMs, and partnerships with major networks. Customers can deposit checks online and access services without visiting physical branches. Economic Empowerment Technology enables entrepreneurship without owning physical products—leveraging branding and e-commerce. Cohee draws parallels between today’s tech opportunities and the historical wealth-building of Black Wall Street. Notable Quotes “We are FDIC insured, commercial bank like them. The only difference is we’re smarter and we have better technology.” “Technology and AI allow anyone to make decisions like they were an expert.” “If we taught financial literacy in schools, it would create over $100,000 in net worth per person over their lifetime.” “You don’t have to go to check cashers and get ripped off. Just go to oneunited.com.” “We’ve been working on AI for over a decade. We’re not coming to the party—we are the party.” “Our generation has technology and communication skills. We can change society.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It's 2026…are we really still doing podcast episode descriptions? I mean, come on! It should be AI! Or it should be some guy on the other side of the world that we're just saying is AI. It should be at least that. UGH! Fine. I will write it. But it WON'T be good. On this episode of YKS there's a dog…uh, thing. Honestly this was recorded last month I don't remember what these were, save for one. I really really don't like the guy making the podcast about bringing people together. Well, I guess I should say I don't like the podcast, not that I don't like him. I don't know him. And actually I didn't really listen to the podcast, either, so that hardly seems fair. If I really think about it, what's causing me to have this reaction to him? Resentment…jealousy…just the way I was brought up? Gosh, I've never really thought about it. But now that I have, I have decided to change my mind. I'm now in favor of stupid fucking fake crap you put online for clout. And with that, enjoy this episode of Crap Shit Sucks: The AssCast. Happy New Year! In this brand new episode, financial guru and NYT bestselling author David Bach returns to So Money to mark the 20th anniversary of The Automatic Millionaire, which has been expanded and updated, and to explain why its core message still holds up—even in today's high-cost, AI-driven economy. Bach argues that we now live in an “automatic economy” that can quietly make us richer or poorer depending on how our money flows, and that paying yourself first through automation remains the most dependable path to financial security. Drawing on personal stories, market data, and lessons from living abroad in Italy, he reframes wealth as freedom, not just net worth, and makes a compelling case for starting small, investing consistently, and using money to build a life—not just a balance sheet. We can change society.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Ep 386: Was 2025 a Great or Terrible Year for AI? (w/ Ed Zitron) 2025 was a year that was saturated in AI news, from Deep Seek, through claims of economic “bloodbaths,” to GPT-5, Sora, and Chatbot girlfriends. Frankly, it was exhausting. As we now look back on 2025 an interesting question arises: all in all, did this end up being a good or bad year for AI? To help me answer this question, I'm joined by hard-hitting AI commentator Ed Zitron, who's been everywhere in the media in recent months helping to make sense of the wild claims being thrown in the public's direction. Together we go through the biggest AI stories of the year to try to make sense of what just happened. Below are the questions covered in today's episode (with their timestamps). The 2024 presidential race was the first big election to happen in the new generative AI era. There have, of course, been major concerns that the technology could be used to deceive voters or interfere with the exercise of democracy. But so far, that kind of activity has been limited, according to Tim Harper, a senior policy analyst and coauthor of a recent report from the Center for Democracy and Technology.

In this Season 4 premiere of the To Be Better Podcast, Chris and Peaches look back on how a joke became a career, a community, and a movement, then dive straight into real life: bonus dad dynamics, parenting an autistic and ADHD son, and intentionally raising boys to be respectful, emotionally regulated young men. You will hear stories about work ethic, chivalry, opening doors, and a powerful moment with a Vietnam veteran that drives home why traditional values and gentlemanly behavior still matter. They also pull back the curtain on Peaches' new affirmations project, future PDF drops, and the idea of an intimate West Coast couples retreat at Point Lobos, showing you how they build family, business, and community on purpose. The heart of this episode is a raw email from a listener who left an emotionally and physically abusive relationship after a 15 year marriage and a childhood soaked in man hating and feminist indoctrination that labeled traditional women as “weak.” Chris and Peaches unpack trauma bonding, why people keep going back to abusers, how percentages like “he's good 85 percent of the time” are delusion, and what it actually takes to walk away, grieve the fantasy, and rebuild self respect. They tackle modern feminism, traditional marriage, AI and the economy, the collapse of standards in dating, and the responsibility to raise the next generation not to tolerate abuse. If you are looking for blunt relationship advice, traditional relationship and marriage guidance, help healing from abusive relationships, or practical masculine and feminine polarity talk without fluff, this episode is for you.Disclaimer: We are not professionals.
