What if our relentless drive to be better than others is quietly breaking us?Miroslav Volf unpacks the core themes of his 2025 book, The Cost of Ambition: How Striving to Be Better Than Others Makes Us Worse. In this book, Volf offers a penetrating critique of comparison culture, diagnosing the hidden moral and spiritual wounds caused by competition and superiority.Drawing on Scripture, theology, philosophy, literature, and our culture's obsession with competition and superiority, Volf challenges our assumptions about ambition and identity—and presents a deeply humanizing vision of life rooted not in being “the best,” but in receiving ourselves as creatures made and loved by God.From Milton's depiction of Satan to Jesus' descent in Philippians 2, from the architectural rivalry of ancient Byzantium to modern Olympic anxieties, Volf invites us to imagine a new foundation for personal and social flourishing: a life free from striving, rooted in love and grace.Highlights“The key here is for us to come to appreciate, affirm, and—importantly—love ourselves. Love ourselves unconditionally.”“Striving for superiority devalues everything we have, if it doesn't contribute to us being better than someone else.”“The inverse of striving for superiority is internal plague by inferiority.”“In Jesus, we see that God's glory is not to dominate but to lift up what is low.”“We constantly compare to feel good about ourselves, and end up unsure of who we are.”“We have been given to ourselves by God—our very existence is a gift, not a merit.”Helpful Links and ResourcesVisit faith.yale.edu/ambition to get a 40-page PDF Discussion Guide and Full Access to 7 videosThe Cost of Ambition by Miroslav Volf (Baker Academic, May 2025)Philippians 2:5–11 (NIV) – Christ's Humility and Exaltation – BibleGatewayRomans 12:10 – “Outdo one another in showing honor” – BibleHubParadise Lost by John Milton – Project GutenbergParadise Regained by John Milton – Project GutenbergShow NotesOpening Reflections on CompetitionThe conversation begins with Volf recalling a talk he gave at the Global Congress on Christianity & Sports. He uses athletic competition—highlighting Lionel Messi—as a lens for questioning the moral value of striving to be better than others.“Sure, competition pulls people up—but it also familiarizes us with inferiority.”“We compare ourselves to feel good… but end up feeling worse.”Introduces the story of Justinian and Hagia Sophia: “Oh Solomon, I have outdone you.”Rivalry, Power, and InsecurityShares the backstory of Juliana's competing church and the gold-ceiling arms race with Justinian.“Religious architecture became a battlefield of status.”Draws insight from these historic rivalries as examples of how ambition pervades religious life—not just secular.Modern Parallels: Yale Students's & the Rat RaceVolf notes how even Yale undergrads—once top of their class—feel insecure in comparison to peers.“They arrive and suddenly their worth plummets. That's insane.”The performance-driven culture makes stable identity nearly impossible.Biblical Illustration: Kierkegaard's LilyVolf recounts Kierkegaard's retelling of Jesus's lily parable.A bird whispers to the little lily that it's not beautiful enough, prompting the lily to uproot itself—and wither.“The lesson: we are destined to lose ourselves when our value depends on comparison.”Intrinsic Value and the Image of God“We need to discover the intrinsic value of who we are as creatures made in the image of God.”Kierkegaard and Jesus both show us the beauty of ‘mere humanity.'“You are more glorious in your humanity than Solomon in his robes.”Theological Anthropology and Grace“We have been given to ourselves by God—our lives are a gift.”“We owe so much to luck, to others, to God. So how can we boast?”Paul's challenge in 1 Corinthians: “What do you have that you have not received?”Milton and Satan's AmbitionShifts to Paradise Lost: Satan rebels because he can't bear not being top.“Even what is beautiful becomes devalued if it doesn't prove superiority.”In Paradise Regained, Satan tempts Jesus to be the greatest—but Jesus refuses.Christ's Humility and Downward GloryHighlights Philippians 2: Jesus “emptied himself… took the form of a servant.”“God's glory is not domination—it's lifting up the lowly.”“Salvation comes not through seizing status, but through relinquishing it.”Paul's Vision of Communal HonorRomans 12:10: “Outdo one another in showing honor.”“True honor comes not from climbing over others, but from lifting them up.”Connects this ethic to Paul's vision of church as an egalitarian body.God's Care for Creation and HumanityLuther's observation: God calls Earth good but not Heaven—“God cares more for our home than his own.”“We are called to emulate God's loving attention to the least.”Striving vs. AcceptanceVolf contrasts ambition with love: “The inverse of striving for superiority is the plague of inferiority.”Encourages unconditional self-love as a reflection of God's love.Uses image of a parent greeting a newborn: “You've arrived.”A Vision for Healed Culture“We wreck others in our pursuit of superiority—and we leave them wounded in our wake.”The gospel reveals a better way: not performance, but grace.“Our salvation and our culture's healing lie in the humility of Jesus.”“We must rediscover the beauty of our mere humanity.”About Miroslav VolfMiroslav Volf is the founding director of the Yale Center for Faith & Culture and the Henry B. What Leaders in All Fields Can Learn from St. Ignatius with Chris Lowney

When Chris Lowney started his career as an investment banker at JP Morgan in 1983, his background leading up to that job marked an unusual path to the corporation. He had spent the past few years as a Jesuit in formation, after entering the Society of Jesus as a novice straight out of high school. Chris went on to work 18 years at JP Morgan, and during his tenure there, he started realizing that a lot of the stuff he had learned about Saint Ignatius and the history of the Jesuits during his Jesuit formation included a bunch of supremely relevant wisdom that corporate leaders in the “secular world” could learn from. So Chris started working on a book after retiring from the company, and in 2003 Loyola Press published “Heroic Leadership: Best Practices from a 450-Year-Old Company that Changed the World.” “Heroic Leadership” has become a modern classic in Jesuit spaces and pioneered the development what you could call Ignatian leadership studies. Just this year, Chris is back with a supplement to his first book: “The Heroic Leadership Workbook,” which he wrote with an educational design expert named Judy Wearing. The workbook is a 30-day guide for leaders in any field to help them grow in qualities like self-awareness, ingenuity, love and heroism. The workbook's exercises are great – they invite deep reflection and are so usable. Host Mike Jordan Laskey invited Chris on the show to talk about “Heroic Leadership” and why Chris thinks the Jesuit charism and history continue to be so helpful to 21st-century leaders both inside institutional church structures and far outside them. Chris Lowney: https://chrislowney.com/ “Heroic Leadership” and the workbook: https://chrislowney.com/wp/books/heroic-leadership/ AMDG is a production of the Jesuit Media Lab, which is a project of the Jesuit Conference of Canada and the United States. www.jesuits.org/ www.beajesuit.org/ twitter.com/jesuitnews facebook.com/Jesuits instagram.com/wearethejesuits youtube.com/societyofjesus www.jesuitmedialab.org/

Is there a simple way to magnify the miracles in your life? The simplest way I know is to begin saying NO to the things you do not want to experience! My spiritual teacher, the late Rev. Ann Jefferson, taught me the spiritual healing power of saying NO to circumstances that do not align with health, wealth, and happiness. I am SO grateful that she did because I have been able to experience so many miracles in my life through this simple technique. In this episode, I share exactly how YOU can begin to say NO to lack, illness, loneliness and anything else that is NOT aligned with your miracle! The two-letter word NO has so much healing power! Will you begin using it to magnify YOUR miracles? Leave me a comment and let me know! Ps- If you want a coach who can help you apply this teaching to any area of your life, Click here to set up a Miracle Meeting with me!   Key Learnings: 1) The word NO has great healing power! Whenever something appears in your life that you do not wish to experience, immediately say NO to it, either mentally or aloud. When we experience something like an unexpected bill and immediately begin to worry, we are saying YES to that experience without knowing it! 2) Your subconscious mind cannot filter out information, that is the job of the conscious mind. When you see an ad for an illness or hear bad news about the economy, immediately say CANCEL, NOT TRUE FOR ME! This cancels that negative thought from being planted in your subconscious mind. 3) Saying no can feel hard, especially for women who were raised to be polite and to make others comfortable. But you don't have to say anything to anyone else, only yourself. Begin the practice of saying NO and CANCEL to yourself and watch the miracles unfold. And if you want to apply this to your goals and dreams, and start manifesting a miraculous life, schedule a Miracle Meeting with me! “When you hear ‘bad news' immediately say ‘Cancel! Not true for me!”   Click here to purchase The Dynamic Laws of Healing by Catherine Ponder Click here to join the Magnify Your Miracles Membership Ready to walk the path of miracles? The World is Born From Zero is an investigation into the relationship between video games and science fiction through the philosophy of speculation. Cameron Kunzelman (Mercer University, Macon, Georgia, USA) argues that the video game medium is centered on the evaluation and production of possible futures by following video game studies, media philosophy, and science fiction studies to their furthest reaches. Claiming that the best way to understand games is through rigorous formal analysis of their aesthetic strategies and the cultural context those strategies emerge from, Kunzelman investigates a diverse array of games like The Last of Us, VA-11 Hall-A, and Civilization VI in order to explore what science fiction video games can tell us about their genres, their ways of speculating, and how the medium of the video game does (or does not) direct us down experiential pathways that are both oppressive and liberatory. Taking a multidisciplinary look at these games, The World is Born From Zero offers a unique theorization of science fiction games that provides both science fiction studies and video game studies with new tools for thinking how this medium and mode inform each other. Rudolf Thomas Inderst (*1978) enjoys video games since 1985. He received a master's degree in political science, American cultural studies as well as contemporary and recent history from Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich and holds two PhDs in game studies (LMU & University of Passau). Currently, he's teaching as a professor for game design and game studies at the HNU University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm, Germany, has submitted his third dissertation at the University of Vechta, holds the position as lead editor at the online journal Titel kulturmagazin for the game section, hosts the German local radio show Replay Value and is editor of the weekly game research newsletter DiGRA D-A-CH Game Studies Watchlist. Welcome to the MyPolyglot Podcast! Join Jimmy Mello, author of "Confessions of a Fake Polyglot: How to Convince People I Don't Speak Every Language in the World", as he delves into the fascinating and often misunderstood world of language learning. You can learn more at www.jimmymello.com.In this episode, we explore the provocative label of "fake polyglot" and challenge the traditional notions of language mastery. Jimmy shares his personal journey, from his early curiosity shaped by observing language differences in his hometown to developing his own "Mello Method" inspired by natural learning experiences, like the "Goat-Speak" ("Cabrês") of a young boy named Frederico. We'll discuss how language learning is far more than just achieving perfect fluency; it's about connection, transformation, and embracing imperfection. You'll hear insights on the "polyglot circus" culture prevalent on platforms like YouTube, where performance can sometimes overshadow genuine linguistic depth.Discover how different approaches, from the rapid learning techniques of Mykel Hawke and Elisabeth Smith to the stress-free methods of Michel Thomas and the psychologically-informed strategies of Mateusz Grzesiak, offer unique pathways to functional communication. We'll also touch upon Dmitry Petrov's approach to teaching languages, which prioritizes understanding structures over achieving absolute fluency.Ultimately, this podcast reveals that being a "fake polyglot" can be a badge of curiosity and passion. It's a journey where errors are celebrated as progress, and the true value lies in the human connection forged through every attempt to speak, understand, and appreciate diverse cultures. As Jimmy confesses, what truly matters is not how many languages you speak, but what you do with them.

This rich, gorgeous conversation will fill your soul. The singular and beloved Joanna Macy died at home at the age of 96 on July 20, 2025. She has left an immense legacy of beauty and wisdom and courage to sustain us. A Buddhist teacher, ecological philosopher, and Rilke translator, she taught and embodied a wild love for the world. What follows is the second and final conversation Krista had with Joanna, together with Joanna's friend, psychologist and fellow Rilke translator Anita Barrows, in 2021. Joanna and Anita had just published a new translation of Rilke's Letters to a Young Poet. At the turn of the last tumultuous century, Rilke was prescient in realizing that the world as he'd known it was passing away. Joanna's adventurous life and vision took shape in the crucibles of the history that then unfolded. Relistening to her now is to experience a way of standing before the great, unfolding dramas of our time — ecological, political, intimate. We stand before the possibilities of what Joanna called “A Great Unraveling” or “A Great Turning” towards life-generating human society. All of this and so much more comes through in the riches of this life-giving conversation. Sign yourself and others up for The Pause to be on our mailing list for all things On Being and to receive Krista's monthly Saturday morning newsletter, including a heads-up on new episodes, special offerings, recommendations, and event invitations.Joanna Macy was the root teacher of The Work That Reconnects. Her books include Active Hope and four volumes of translated works of Rainer Maria Rilke, together with Anita Barrows: Rilke's Book of Hours: Love Poems to God;  In Praise of Mortality; and A Year with Rilke. Krista's previous "On Being” episode with her is “A Wild Love for the World.” That's also the title of a lovely book of homage to Joanna that was published in 2020. Anita Barrows's most recent poetry collection is Testimony. She is the Institute Professor of Psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California, and also maintains a private practice.

Those on the margins often come to control the center. That maxim ties together the three remarkable people profiled in this episode: Colin Chapman, known as “the mad scientist of F1”, did more to influence F1 design than any other person in history.  Bernie Ecclestone, known as “Supremo”, Bernie transformed Formula One from a disorganized, rag-tag, chaotic collection of racing teams, into the world's premier motor racing series. He built the business of F1— and made billions for himself along the way.  Dietrich Mateschitz, founder of Red Bull, bought two Formula One teams and insisted on becoming the sport's foremost disruptor. Determined to question every standard way of operating, Mateschitz's unlimited ambition transformed his team of outsiders and mavericks into a dominant force, all while building one of the world's most valuable private companies.  All three were outsiders. All three thrived on taking risks. All three insisted on doing things their way.  This episode is what I learned from reading The Formula: How Rogues, Geniuses, and Speed Freaks Reengineered F1 into the World's Fastest-Growing Sport by Joshua Robinson and and Johnathan Clegg. ------ Ramp gives you everything you need to control spend, watch your costs, and optimize your financial operations —all on a single platform. In this episode of Daily Creative, we dig into the origins and unexpected global impact of the “like button” with business thinker and strategist Martin Reeves, co-author of Like: The Button That Changed the World. Together, we uncover not just the technical and historical story behind one of the internet's most recognizable icons, but also how something so small has fundamentally rewired our ideas about validation, success, identity, and creativity. We explore the messy, iterative invention process behind the like button, dispelling the myth of the “lone genius” and highlighting the chain of small, serendipitous problem-solving moments that led to its creation. Through Martin's research and stories—ranging from ancient Roman gestures to the algorithmic engines of the digital age—we examine how cultural symbols embed themselves in new technologies, how our need for validation can become a trap, and why creative leaders must be wary of chasing applause over substance. Finally, we reflect on how the very tools we invent end up shaping us, for better or worse, and what that means for our own creative paths today, especially as technologies like AI quickly raise similar questions about identity, taste, and agency.Key Learnings from This Episode:External Validation vs. Inner Conviction: When we start creating primarily for immediate recognition and “likes,” we risk losing sight of our core values and true creative voice.Messy Invention, Not Lone Genius: The like button didn't come from a single visionary, but from a series of iterative solutions and small tactical problems—reminding us that progress often happens in unexpected, collaborative ways.Cultural Resonance Matters: The thumbs-up icon succeeded because it was already deeply embedded in culture, making the digital transition intuitive and frictionless for users. The Double-Edged Sword of Instant Feedback: While instant feedback can enhance connection and learning, it also reshapes our tastes, identities, and behavior—sometimes with serious unintended consequences for mental health, social norms, and democracy.Let Curiosity Lead: The most transformative creative breakthroughs often come not from rigid objectives, but from following curiosity and allowing projects to evolve organically.Get full interviews and bonus content for free! Rethinking the Scarcity Mindset

In today's world, scarcity seems to be everywhere. Not enough money. Not enough time. Not enough security. It's easy to live like we're always behind, always grasping, always worried. But is that the full story? Here at FaithFi, we believe Scripture paints a different picture—one where scarcity isn't the final word. Instead, through Christ, we're invited to live with hope, wisdom, and trust in God's abundant care. The Root of ScarcityThe fear of “not having enough” isn't new. Ever since sin entered the world, our hearts have struggled with distrust. In John 10:10, Jesus describes the enemy as a thief who “comes only to steal and kill and destroy.” And that's what a scarcity mindset does. It steals peace, kills joy, and destroys our trust in God's provision. This mindset urges us to hoard instead of share, grasp instead of give, and stress instead of rest. It traps us in anxiety—a form of slavery where our lives are defined by what we lack instead of who God is.Jesus doesn't leave us in fear. In the second half of John 10:10, He offers a better way: “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”This abundance isn't about luxury—it's about the richness of God's care. From the very beginning, God created generously. Genesis 1 shows a God who overflows with creativity and provision, filling the skies, seas, and land with life. He didn't create out of need but out of joy.As Elisabeth Elliot wisely said, “God has promised to supply all our needs. What we don't have now, we don't need now.”Jesus Offers Something BetterJesus lived simply, with no home of His own, yet He never operated from scarcity. He lived generously, turning water into wine, feeding multitudes, and offering forgiveness to all. In Matthew 6:25–34, He urges us not to worry, pointing to the birds and lilies as evidence of the Father's care.“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,” Jesus tells us, “and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). This is the antidote to fear: a trust-filled life focused on God's Kingdom. So, how do we break free from the scarcity trap? Here are a few biblical steps:1. Renew Your MindRomans 12:2 calls us to be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Ask God to help you see life through the lens of His abundance, not the world's lack.2. Practice GratitudeThankfulness shifts our focus from what's missing to what God has already provided. It's a simple but powerful habit that reorients our hearts toward trust.3. Embrace StewardshipWe are not owners but stewards. Everything we have is a gift from God. Proverbs 3:9 reminds us to “Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce.”4. Give in FaithDon't give out of fear—give out of faith. 2 Corinthians 9:8 promises that God will provide all we need so that we can abound in every good work.God Is More Than EnoughLiving in God's abundance doesn't guarantee an easy life. But it does guarantee we never face our challenges alone, and we never need to be enslaved by fear.So when the world says, “There's not enough,” we can respond with confidence: Our God is more than enough. His abundance isn't just material—it's spiritual. It's peace, joy, and confidence that our Father knows exactly what we need.If you're struggling with financial fear or anxiety, we invite you to explore our 21-day devotional, Look at the Sparrows. It's designed to help you shift from fear to faith as you grow in your trust of God's provision. Order a copy or place a bulk order today at FaithFi.com/Sparrows. Let this journey lead you into deeper peace and stronger trust, because your Father really does care for you.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I've been looking into Fisher Investments to help manage my portfolio, but their 1.25% advisory fee seems a bit high. With $1.4 million in assets, is that rate competitive, or should I be considering other options?I'm on a limited income and have had serious health issues in the past. My husband is retired, and I'm struggling to find affordable health insurance. I'm also worried that my health history might lead to penalties or denial. What are my best options?I set up an LLC for a rental property and assumed I could report the income as a pass-through on my personal 1040. But my tax preparer says I now need to make quarterly estimated tax payments. Is that really necessary, and how do I know what to pay?I'm 62 and a half and thinking about retiring early this coming January. My current job no longer aligns with my values. I plan to take Social Security at around $1,835/month, which is about $500 less than my current income. My wife is still working and will cover our health insurance. "Expand your horizons with all the different means of which you're selling." – Dayne Thornicroft The conversation opens with the success story of multimillionaire car salesman Cody Carter and highlights how his results stem from strategic use of auto brokers and marketplaces. "He lives where the shoppers hang out." – Rammy Joudeh, on Cody Carter's strategy. This episode dives deep into the current leasing climate, explores how recent legislative changes like the “big beautiful bill” are impacting the market, and provides practical strategies for dealerships to diversify their prospecting channels and close more deals. "We produce a completely desked deal and qualified buyers.” – Rammy Joudeh Whether you're a GM, GSM, Internet Director, or top-performing sales professional, this episode is packed with insights that can help you scale smarter, sell faster, and take full advantage of what the marketplace model has to offer! Tune in to learn how AutoBandit is helping dealerships increase sales volume—and why now is the time to reach out and get started. Key Takeaways: ✅ Success Leaves Clues: Emulating the strategies of successful salespeople like Cody Carter can unlock new levels of achievement for sales professionals. ✅ Marketplace Versus Auto Broker: Understand the distinct benefits of using an online marketplace over traditional auto brokers to expand reach and streamline the car leasing process. ✅ Leasing Benefits: Discover why leasing is a thriving option in the automotive industry, particularly in light of recent economic and legislative changes. ✅ Transparent Transactions: Importance of maintaining transparency in vehicle pricing and the purchase process to promote customer trust and satisfaction. ✅ Risk-Free Opportunities: AutoBandit offers a risk-free way for dealers to list inventory, only charging fees upon the completion of a sale, providing a clear advantage over traditional sales models.   About Dayne Thornicroft Dayne brings expertise in finance and insurance, combined with a robust knowledge of data analytics. His analytical skills played a key role in co-founding AutoBandit with Rammy. Dayne's ability to optimize automotive deals and his deep understanding of complex leasing strategies make him a pivotal force in providing digital automotive solutions designed to elevate customer experiences.   About Rammy Joudeh Rammy is a serial technology entrepreneur with a rich background in SEO, search engine optimization, and online marketing. Driven by his passion for cars, Rammy co-founded AutoBandit, an online marketplace focused on transforming how vehicles are leased and financed. His experience includes founding successful startups and applying innovative marketing strategies to the automotive space.   Mastering the Art of Car Sales: Insights from the Millionaire Car Salesman Podcast Key Takeaways Leverage Proven Strategies: Cody Carter's success stems from embracing diverse methods such as Facebook groups, leasing mastery, and auto brokers. Embrace Transparency in Marketplaces: Establish marketplaces, like AutoBandit, provide a risk-free, transparent platform for car dealerships. Future-Proofing with Leasing: Understanding emerging trends and new legislation can reshape dealership strategies and consumer interactions.   In the world of automotive sales, achieving outstanding success demands both innovation and a keen understanding of market dynamics. The Millionaire Car Salesman Podcast provides a treasure trove of insights through candid discussions with industry insiders. The conversations with Sean V. Bradley and automotive experts Rammy Joudeh and Dayne Thornicroft underscore pivotal themes in today's automotive marketplace. By examining the strategies of top sellers, the role of innovative marketplaces, and the reshaping landscape due to new legislation, it becomes clear how these elements synergize to redefine success in car sales. Harnessing the Cody Carter Model: Strategic Success in Car Sales Cody Carter stands as a beacon of success in the automotive industry, consistently achieving remarkable sales numbers. His multifaceted strategy serves as a blueprint for other salespeople aiming to elevate their performance. As Sean V. Bradley notes, "Success leaves clues." Carter's approach is not just about exceptional interpersonal skills but about strategically positioning himself where the customers are: "He lives where the shoppers hang out," states Rammy Joudeh. Carter leverages several key tactics. His utilization of Facebook groups allows him to connect with potential buyers effectively. His expertise in leasing, specifically through self-service pricing platforms such as Least Genius, empowers customers with the information they crave, thus enhancing the buying experience. Moreover, Carter's strategic alliances with auto brokers create a pipeline for consistent, qualified leads. Understanding and implementing these elements can drive significant improvements in a salesperson's business model. Dealers and sales professionals need to adopt a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation, leveraging environments where customers are most active. Redefining Transparency in Car Dealerships with Marketplaces In an era where trust and transparency hold paramount importance, marketplaces like AutoBandit emerge as revolutionary platforms for dealerships. These marketplaces are transforming the car sales landscape by providing risk-free opportunities to connect buyers and dealerships. "We want to perform; if we don't perform, that's on us," says Rammy Joudeh, emphasizing the accountability and confidence embedded in their model. AutoBandit, as highlighted by Dayne Thornicroft, offers a unique approach by integrating transparency into the transaction process. With practices such as running soft credit apps, verifying IDs, and securing deposits upfront, the marketplace minimizes friction between buyer and dealership. This ensures that only qualified buyers engage, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction. By shifting focus to such platforms, dealerships can drive customer confidence and improve sales. They provide an avenue to bypass traditional lead generation pitfalls by creating seamless experiences that culminate in qualified, delivery-ready prospects. Navigating the Legislative Landscape: Impacts and Opportunities New legislation, particularly the recent "big beautiful bill," holds the potential to reshape the automotive industry. As Dayne Thornicroft outlines, significant aspects of these legislative changes include adjustments to EV rebates, impacting leasing's attractiveness. "Leasing a hybrid and an ev… their penetration rates… are much, much higher," he states, reflecting the growing importance of understanding these market shifts. The implications for car sales lie in adapting to these changes proactively. By capitalizing on current benefits, such as EV lease incentives before they phase out, dealerships can enhance their value proposition to customers. Such foresight ensures dealerships remain competitive amidst evolving legislative environments. Moreover, the conversation among the podcast's hosts touches on an evolving market ethos—consumers now expect pricing transparency. With the enforcement of initiatives like the Cars Act waning, responsibility falls on dealerships to maintain trust through integrity and openness, ultimately nurturing long-term customer relationships. Synthesizing Market Dynamics for Unparalleled Success The wisdom imparted through conversations on the Millionaire Car Salesman Podcast encapsulates key elements essential for domination in the car sales arena. From Cody Carter's strategic mastery to the disruptive innovations introduced by marketplaces like AutoBandit, and through the lens of crucial legislative shifts, a holistic understanding of these dynamics is vital. Dealers and sales professionals are encouraged to analyze and incorporate these insights, strategically aligning themselves with proven practices while remaining flexible to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. In doing so, they not only secure their success but redefine the standards of excellence in the automotive industry, paving the path for a future where knowledge, transparency, and strategic acumen drive unparalleled success.     Resources: AutoBandit: Looking for a better way to move inventory and close more deals? Esther presents two conversations you have to hear from her clinical conference, Sessions Live. Listen in as psychiatrist and narrative therapist Paul Browde traces his journey from secrecy to aliveness. Growing up queer under apartheid and later diagnosed with HIV, Browde shares how stigma, silence, and shame shaped his early life and professional path. Through storytelling, erotic healing, and spiritual practice, he reclaims pleasure not as indulgence, but as a portal to connection, presence, and transformation. Later in the episode, licensed therapist and New York Times bestselling author Nedra Glover Tawwab offers a clear, compassionate roadmap for navigating boundaries in relationships. Boundaries do not have to mean endings. In fact, boundaries can be a way for us to connect. She explores how boundary-setting is not about pushing people away but about creating the conditions for healthy connection. In a time when many feel overstretched, overwhelmed, or emotionally enmeshed, she reminds us that boundaries are a vital act of self-respect—and a necessary foundation for mutual care. Read OnlineMary stayed outside the tomb weeping. And as she wept, she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet where the Body of Jesus had been. John 20:11–12Early in His ministry, Jesus cast seven demons out of Mary of Magdala. As a result, she became an exceptionally faithful follower of Jesus. She was most likely one of His followers who provided for Jesus and the disciples out of her own resources as they traveled. She listened to His teachings, witnessed His miracles, was present when He was condemned, stood at the foot of the Cross with Jesus' mother, helped to prepare His body for burial and was the first person recorded in Scripture to whom Jesus appeared after His Resurrection. The Gospel for today's Mass tells the story of Mary going to the tomb early Sunday morning to complete the anointing of Jesus' dead body as He laid in the tomb. But much to her surprise, the tomb was empty. Therefore, she ran to tell the Apostles, which makes Mary Magdalene the first of His followers to witness to the Resurrection. After telling the Apostles, she returned to the tomb with Peter and John; and, after Peter and John left, she remained outside the tomb weeping, as is mentioned in the Gospel passage quoted above.Mary's tears are beautiful. They are an expression of her deep devotion to her Lord. She did not yet understand that He had risen, but her fidelity to Jesus is a testimony to her love. Jesus had restored her dignity. He freed her from the seven demons who tormented her. She most likely had been a sinful woman in the past, but now she was singly devoted to the Savior of the World. The witness of Mary of Magdala is one that should inspire us all. Though few people are possessed by seven demons, we are all tormented in one way or another. We all sin. We all are weak. We all have a past we regret. And we all are invited to do better. Mary's “better” was a life that was given to Jesus with the utmost fidelity. She didn't care if the authorities saw her at the foot of the Cross. If they were to persecute her as a result, it did not matter. She was faithful. She didn't care if the soldiers would have harassed her when she went to the tomb to anoint the body of Jesus—she only thought of that last act of love she could offer Him. And when she saw Jesus risen and thought He was the gardener, she didn't care if He saw her heartbroken and in tears—she only wanted to see the body of her Lord.As a result of her unwavering fidelity, Jesus gave her a gift beyond imagination. He appeared to her, after being resurrected from the dead, and sent her to be an apostle to the Apostles. He sent her to go to the Apostles to tell them that Jesus had risen and that He was preparing to go to His Father in Heaven. Reflect, today, upon the holy soul of this woman. She was a repentant sinner who turned her whole life around. She devoted everything to Jesus and, in return, received even more. In Heaven, Mary Magdalene will forever cling to Jesus and adore His Sacred Heart. May we all strive to imitate her by turning from our own life of sin and becoming unwaveringly faithful to our Lord. My resurrected Lord, You appeared first to Mary of Magdala after Your Resurrection. You now invite her to share in Your glorious life in Heaven. Help me to learn from her by turning away from all sin and becoming deeply devoted to You. May my fidelity to You, dear Lord, be absolute and unwavering, so that I, too, will one day share in the glory of Your Resurrection. Jesus, I trust in You.  Image: Fondazione Cariplo, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia CommonsSource of content: catholic-daily-reflections.comCopyright © 2025 My Catholic Life! Inc. All rights reserved.
