On the 65th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, Shout It Out Loudcast Hall of Famer, Jeff Trott review the 1993 classic Hip-Hop album by Snoop Doggy Dogg, "Doggystyle." This is ARC's first Hip-Hop album review. The debut album from Snoop Doggy Dogg was highly anticipated after Snoop's appearance on Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" just one year earlier. The album was produced famously by Dr. Dre and was a breakthrough for G Funk style of Hip-Hop. The album features many contributions, including, Dr. Dre, Tha Dogg Pound, The D.O.C., Warren G, Nate Dogg, Daz, Korrupt, Lady Of Rage and more. The album went immediately to #1 US Billboard album charts and went on to become 4x Platinum and eventually selling 11 million albums worldwide. The album is known for the legendary rap skills of Snoop and the beats from Dre, which were revolutionary. The album catapulted Snoop Doggy Dogg into a super stardom celebrity status. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was Zeus' pick. Youtubehttps://www.lbdcorptherightchoice.comInstagramBioTo her careers as an entrepreneur, author, MC host, and inspirational speaker, CatreseAlston, under the artist name Queen Diamond, has added singer/songwriter to her list ofaccomplishments. She has just released four songs, hip-hop and R and B, but “Money Wave” is THE song.“‘Money Wave' is talking about me, in a sense, and also as it relates to money,” shesaid. “It's talking about how you get that money and live that life.”It is kind of like her inspirational speeches rendered in hip-hop, with a beat and a chiming melodyand an upbeat rhythm that perfectly punctuate the lyrics, which are possibly the only hip-hop inexistence that includes the word “portfolio” and the term “LLC.”Imma show you how it's 'bout to go downPortfolio fat like them 808 drumsLLCs, that's how freedom comesEvery single deal—ka-ching—outcomes“It's basically telling you how you can make it,” she said. “I'm telling them you got tohave those LLCs in place, and you got to be able to turn those deals into moneyoutcomes. Sometimes you don't have to move where everybody can see everything. You need to move in silence. And when you move in silence, but you move effectively, those checks gonna scream loud.”Turn a risk into a ring the way I marry sumsPower moves quiet, then the check screams loudJumpin' off the jet in designer, head-crowdEagle-eye vision—spot a bag in the cloudIt is almost certainly the most fun financial advice you will ever hear.It is also a personal statement of intent.“I have held back. I've had a lot of challenges in life, and I have kind of been on theback burner because I'm always putting everybody else ahead and helping everyoneelse. But now I'm gonna show you how it's about to go down for me.”Music is something she has always wanted to do, but life, the need to make a living andsome extreme hardships intervened.“I got pregnant at a young age. My mom was murdered when I was five. Mygrandparents raised me and my brother, but they both died by the time I turned 18. So,I've always been independent and finding my way, and music was what always mademe feel better.”She passed her love of music on to her children, who are now singers and rappers intheir own right, and she has her own production company, BossCat Entertainment.“I pushed them and supported them, and now they're pushing and supporting me.”The tipping point that decided her on doing what she always wanted to do, began duringthe time of COVID, when she discovered she had stomach cancer. She beat it, andearly this year she celebrated her fifth year of remission. One particular moment was when she was playing around with her music with a friend, who said, “Oh my God! You should be doing something.”“And I said oh, no, that was a dream I had before, and she said, ‘Okay, you're not tooold to live your dream.' And I said, ‘You know what? That's one of the things I want meto do.' And so now, after overcoming cancer and even going blind in 2023 and gettingmy vision back, everything that I always wanted to do, I'm going to do it.”Of the four songs she has just released, “It's My Birthday” is pure hip-hop celebration, with what sounds like a bass sax joining the drum in the beat, and “Pleasure and Pain”is an R&B and hip-hop fusion on relationships — the pleasure and the pain. The other two, “Money Wave” especially but also “Stone Cold Lover,” are Catresestaking out her ground as Queen Diamond.“‘Money Wave' is letting you know I'm coming forth. I'm wearing the crown, and it is theQueen Diamond era.”In “Stone Cold,” the singer is talking to a lover, but warning him, too.“I'm trying to reach my goals, and although I may want someone to be beside me, and Imay care about you, you can't let your emotions get involved, because I'm on amission.”I'ma show you how it's 'bout to go down—Risin' to the top, we don't play 'round—Money wave comin', watch me surf that “Money Wave” is all about the mission, and money is a big part of that, but it's noteverything.“I'm about building a legacy,” she said. “When you leave this earth, what do you leavebehind? I'm not talking about things that can disappear. Materialistic things, they can bedissolved. How have you impacted somebody else's life, through inspiration, throughwords, through motivation, through music?”And, the music is also about fun, which comes out when you ask her what she wants todo with it, where she wants to go with it.“I want to have fun with it. I want to be able to reach a vast amount of people, share mystories through my songs, because it's very relatable to a lot of things that people dealwith in their life, and I want to be encouraging.”Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/creator-to-creators-with-meosha-bean--4460322/support.

The electric buzz of anticipation filled the air as we stepped into the venue, determined not to miss our chance at BE:FIRST merch. What followed was a night of pure magic as the seven-member Japanese pop group delivered an unforgettable performance in New York City.Standing in the merchandise line, screens displaying the concert's opening let us witness the explosive start with "Mainstream" – a perfect opener that set the tone for the night. When we finally entered the main space, what struck us immediately was how different this fan experience felt from other concerts. The crowd created a welcoming atmosphere that felt less like attending a show and more like friends gathering to enjoy music together. Each member brought their distinct personality to the stage through both performance and fashion choices. Ryoki embodied his "bad boy" image in dark green with a cap, while Ryuhei caught every eye in sparkly hot pink. Junon's fluid, graceful movements contrasted with Sota's powerful dance breaks, showcasing the group's diverse talents. What truly amazed us was experiencing their individual styles while witnessing flawlessly synchronized choreography. The intimate venue allowed for genuine connections between artists and fans. When members asked where people were from, you could hear individual responses – Boston, Colombia, Brazil, DC – creating moments impossible in stadium settings. We even spotted fans representing other fandoms, including ATINY and ARMY with their light sticks, showing a beautiful cross-fandom support system. What made this concert particularly poignant was knowing it featured all seven members, including Ryoki, who will soon depart the group. During a brief moment addressing fans, he became visibly emotional, simply stating he wants to "live life" – words that resonated deeply with everyone present. For anyone who hasn't experienced BE:FIRST live, we cannot recommend it enough. Their online presence, while impressive, doesn't capture the energy they bring to their live performance. G-Funk pioneer one of the most consistent dual artists in Hip-Hop history, it could be said that DJ Quik hasn't gotten the props his peers has, even though his quality of production and bars has (for the most part) been great, just as long as you jump over the mines labelled "Songs with oddly detailed sex bars".TIMESTAMPS:Weekly Music Roundup - (0:49)Ben:Lil Wayne - Tha Carter 6Little Simz - LotusUntilJapan - tromp l'oeilCharlie:Common Saints - EquinoxIan Kelly & DJ D Sharp - Concrete OCEANVic Spencer & Bucky Luger - Interstate PotluckLittle Simz - LotusTopic Intro/Ben's Research House - (15:14)Quik Is the Name - (21:35)Way 2 Fonky - (30:38)Safe + Sound - (33:42)Rhythm-al-ism - (37:37)Balance & Options - (42:20)Under tha Influence - (45:33)Trauma - (52:26)The Book of David - (56:15)The Midnight Life - (59:12)Lighter Note - (1:03:15)Thanks for listening. In episode 214, host Galit Friedlander and guest Kwasi Ohene-Adu (dancer, technologist, and founder/CEO of Groovetime) get into a conversation that's part dance history, part tech-forward vision, and fully rooted in the reality of what dancers are navigating today. From street performing and coding his own programs in college to building a platform that connects dance trends, AI, and digital ownership, Kwasi shares what he's learned and where he believes the industry is headed. This episode covers everything from soft power and viral culture to how dancers can create new revenue paths without waiting on the old system to catch up. Expect stories, sharp insights, and future-focused ideas—plus a few unexpected laughs along the way. In this week's episode of A Pod Named Kickback, No Brakes Nu' and Get Fit with Jacq take a deep dive into the viral Haley Bailey & DDG situation—specifically unpacking the controversial topic of postpartum depression.Nu' breaks down his viral social media post and the firestorm that followed: men vs. women, assumptions vs. empathy, and what it really means to support a woman through postpartum when even she may not know she's struggling.“It's not just crying in silence—it can be behavior that's unsafe, unstable, and unpredictable. So how do we protect the baby, the mother, and the family unit?”From there, the convo expands to:How celebrity custody battles affect the children long-termDiddy's dark spiral and the bizarre pattern of free-for-all sexual requestsThe ongoing genocide in Gaza, with heartbreaking footage of Palestinians being gunned down while trying to get foodThe brewing cold war between Trump & Elon Musk—money vs. political power, and who really wins when billionaires and world leaders clashIt's deep. It's wild. It's real. And it's a conversation you need to hear before forming your opinion.

New roundtable! This week I sit down with Raven Hunter & Ben Neumann to discuss a group from New York that debuted in the middle of Hip-Hop's "Golden Age". Mixing elements of politcal, social & conscious lyrics, they also kept it 100% Hip-Hop. Sadat X, Grand Puba, Lord Jamar & DJ Alamo have earned their spot in Hip-Hop history. This week, Top 10 Brand Nubian songs. As always you can find the audio version on all major podcast platforms and the video version on YouTube.Follow the podcast on Instagram, X & Tik Tok: @b_boypodcastFind us online: www. riplak.comFollow Raven Hunter on Instagram & X: @ravenhunteryps
