The concept is centuries old - when a crime is committed, the perpetrator must face justice. For many civilizations, this has meant imprisonment, but the nature of that incarceration still varies widely depending on where the justice is meted out. To some countries, harsh punishment awaits criminals while other places take a softer approach. Which is right and what does it mean for our criminal justice landscape? The World's #1 leading authority on behavior profiling, nonverbal human communication, influence, and persuasion, Chase Hughes, reveals the psychological systems secretly shaping modern society, and why he believes humanity is living through the biggest PSY OP in history. From government manipulation and engineered division to consciousness, DMT, spirituality, and the loneliness epidemic, this episode of Mayim Bialik's Breakdown goes far beyond politics and exposes the hidden forces influencing how we think, behave, comply, and perceive reality itself.Chase explains why anger is the media's most powerful weapon, how fear and tribalism are used to manipulate entire populations, and why most people don't realize they're being psychologically programmed in real time. He breaks down his FATE Model (Focus, Authority, Tribe, Emotion) and reveals how governments, institutions, and social media exploit ancient mammalian survival instincts to control human behavior. He also shares why he believes the global response to Covid was the largest psy op ever conducted, why ostracization is humanity's deepest fear, and how the threat of social rejection can override logic, morality, and independent thinking. The conversation then takes a profound turn into spirituality, altered states of consciousness, and the nature of reality itself. After 9 military deployments and witnessing the psychological effects of violence and desensitization, Chase began searching for deeper answers about consciousness, meaning, and human connection. He describes his first guided DMT experience as “death by astonishment” and “smoking an alien microchip,” revealing the mysterious “code” he saw during the experience and why it completely transformed his understanding of reality, and saved his life.Chase explores whether consciousness is something we create or something we access, why “everything is consciousness” could explain quantum entanglement, and why some people appear to be “banned” from the DMT realm entirely. He also breaks down the hidden similarities across ancient spiritual texts, the most repeated phrase throughout human history's sacred writings (including 7 Hermetic Principles & the Emerald Tablets), the illusion of separation, and why modern society may be engineering psychopathic behavior through digital isolation and performative social media culture.Chase Hughes also breaks down:- Why history predicts future government behavior- Psychology of mass compliance- Why social media may be destroying authentic human connection- Whether anyone can truly live authentically anymore- Loneliness epidemic & digital relationships- Why we have more in common with political opponents than with the people manipulating us- What humanity gets wrong about prayer- How perception of reality became the throughline of Chase's life work- Why manipulation works best when people believe they are immune to itThis is one of the deepest conversations we've ever had on psychology, consciousness, propaganda, spirituality, manipulation, human behavior, DMT, media control, social engineering, and the future of society.FFRF: If that matters to you, go to http://FFRF.US/BREAKDOWN or text, “BREAKDOWN” to 511511 to learn more and join. For a limited time, get $250 off Cove Pure water filtration at http://www.covepure.com/breakdownMachine Washable Rugs, Made Better. Today we’re continuing the Female Founder Series with author, podcaster, and co-founder of Another Mother Runner, Dimity McDowell. Dimity was one of the first people I really knew in the running space over a decade ago when I started dipping my toes into podcasting and becoming part of the broader running community beyond my hometown of Indianapolis. Alongside her co-founder, Sarah Bowen Shea, she helped create a movement with Another Mother Runner by providing support, encouragement, and connection to women around the country and around the world. That community continues today, and Another Mother Runner has recently found a new home with Feisty Media. As Dimity entered a new season in her own athletic journey, she wrote a beautiful book called The 27th Mile: How to Smooth the Rough Transition Out of the Running Years. She’s a former contributing editor at Runner’s World, and through this book she’s supporting anyone whose relationship with running is beginning to change. As I’ve navigated my own injury and foot surgery, this book helped me feel a little less alone. Watching other people accomplish incredible things while wondering what my own future in running might look like has been emotional, and I think learning to accept change is an important part of the process. In The 27th Mile, Dimity reckons with her decision to stop running, grieves leaving behind a sport she deeply loved, and shares how she rediscovered purpose, connection, and those endorphins on the other side. I love Dimity’s heart and everything she’s done for women in the running community over the years. And I’ll tell you what, interviewing another podcaster is always fun because they know how to have a great conversation. If you’re in any kind of transition with your own running journey, I highly recommend checking out The 27th Mile. Thanks so much for being here, and I hope you enjoy my conversation with Dimity McDowell. This episode shines a spotlight on Chloe's late-game recruitment as a traitor, the ripple effects of pivotal murders and banishments, and how social bonds dictate the final outcome. Join Pooya and Annabel as they examine the key alliances, banishments, and strategic missteps that define this intense season conclusion. Pooya and Annabel dig into Keanu's logic for choosing Chloe as his last-minute traitor partner, discussing whether an earlier recruitment might have given him a stronger endgame. They explore how Hannah's banishment comes about, through fractured alliances and heightened suspicion, and how Maruia emerges as a forceful faithful who shapes the final votes. The hosts analyze the big moves, including the critical Aaron murder, how Violette's focus on Chloe influences perceptions, and the social dynamics that let major players slip under the radar. Lighter moments from the final challenges, like snail facials and gross smoothies, round out the discussion. And almost nobody is talking about it. Catharine Arnston is the founder of Energy Bits, a PhD holder, and the world's leading voice on spirulina and chlorella — the two algae she calls your nutritional and health insurance. The proof is in everything she says. In this episode, you'll discover:  • Why spirulina's amino acid profile is almost identical to mother's breast milk — and how it protects the mitochondria, clears brain fog, and rebuilds energy at a cellular level without stimulants or crashes  • What chlorella actually does inside the body: pulling out heavy metals, toxins, and excess iron while triggering serotonin production, improving mood, and getting your gut moving  • Why most algae on the market has had its most critical nutrients deactivated — and what to look for to make sure you're getting the real thing Aging is natural. Rob Has a Podcast | Survivor / Big Brother / Amazing Race - RHAP

Is Parvati the Survivor GOAT? Who really owns the title of Survivor's Greatest of All Time? On this special installment of the Survivor GOAT series, Rob Cesternino is joined by Mike Bloom to put Parvati Shallow's legendary gameplay under the microscope. As Survivor continues to celebrate its iconic history, Rob and Mike debate whether Parvati's bold moves, social mastery, and challenge prowess are enough to earn her the GOAT crown. The conversation jumps right into Parvati's resume, covering her historic double idol play in Heroes vs. Villains and her more recent coup in Australian Survivor: Australia vs. the World. Mike makes the case for Parvati's unmatched ability to survive as an ongoing target and how her strategic thinking and charm have set her apart across multiple eras of Survivor. Rob pushes back, questioning moments where Parvati's social game didn't connect and whether her reputation sometimes worked to her disadvantage. Together, they break down Parvati's alliances, challenge dominance, and her impact on the way Survivor is played—not just by women, but by everyone who's followed in her footsteps. Key points of interest discussed include: – Parvati's signature idol play that flipped Heroes vs. Villains on its head – How her relationships and alliances, especially with players like Danielle and Cirie, shaped the outcomes of her seasons – The memorable moment in Australian Survivor when Parvati persuaded an opponent NOT to play an idol for themselves – Debating if her legacy (and even her “celebrity” factor) gives her a modern edge—or makes her more vulnerable – The strengths and shortcomings of Parvati's social game when facing enemies versus allies As Rob and Mike weigh Parvati's place among icons like Sandra, Boston Rob, and Tony, the big question remains: Does Parvati's game truly stand the test of time, or did certain missteps keep her from GOAT status? Will her bold moves—and her reputation—help or hurt her if she returns again? Ever since the Homestead Act of 1862, the U.S. government has worked to help everyday Americans own a piece of their nation. Vice President JD Vance has been given a job no one really wants: ending the incredibly unpopular Iran war. He's been tasked with leading negotiations with Iranian counterparts to find a lasting solution that he thinks could QUOTE “transform the Middle East.” But there are many, many obstacles in his way. And as the US and Iran attempt to hammer out not just an end to the war, but a new nuclear deal, President Trump seems markedly uninterested in the whole thing. So for more on the mess that is trying to end the Iran war, we spoke with Tommy Vietor. He's the co-host of Crooked Media's Pod Save the World. And in headlines, Moscow's Defense Ministry says Ukraine launched a major Thursday night attack, ex-national security adviser John Bolton pleads guilty to a single count of illegally retaining national defense information, and New York City approves a rent freeze on one- and two-year leases for people living in about 1 million rent-stabilized apartments.Show Notes: Check out Pod Save The World – www.youtube.com/@podsavetheworld Call Congress – 202-224-3121 Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/y4y2e9jy What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcast Follow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/ For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday

This week's Deadpod features the Grateful Dead's second set from June 4, 1978, at Campus Stadium, University of California, Santa Barbara—a show that captures the band in a confident and fluid late-'70s mode. The set opens with a lively "Samson and Delilah," followed by a nicely rendered "Ship of Fools" that provides an early contrast in mood. The improvisational core begins with "Estimated Prophet," which unfolds patiently before transitioning into a bright and engaging "Eyes of the World." (nevermind Bobby stepping on Jerry's solo).  The Eyes is a bit on the fast side, I wonder if the presence of Ken Kesey and the Thunder machine had something to do with that? "Drums" and a concise "Space" serve as a bridge into the closing sequence, where a driving "Not Fade Away" builds into "Goin' Down the Road Feeling Bad" and a high-energy "Around and Around." The set is capped by a pair of encores—"U.S. Blues" and "Sugar Magnolia"—that bring the performance to an upbeat conclusion. Overall, this is a well-paced and cohesive second set, offering both strong song performances and a satisfying improvisational arc. As always, I hope you enjoy the listen.     Grateful Dead Campus Stadium - University Of California Santa Barbara, CA 6/4/1978 - Sunday  Two      Samson And Delilah [6:34]  Ship Of Fools [6:57]  Estimated Prophet [10:40] > Eyes Of The World [10:16] > Drums [10:#16] > Space (1) [4:21] > Not Fade Away [8:04] > Goin' Down The Road Feeling Bad [6:29] > Around And Around [7:27] Encores      U.S. Blues [5:09]  Sugar Magnolia [7:51]   You can listen to this week's Deadpod here: https://traffic.libsyn.com/deadshow/deadpod062626.mp3  As always thanks for your kind support of the Deadpod!

Michnus and Elsebie Olivier of PikiPiki Overland and Turkana Gear also share lessons learned from years of motorcycle travel, including what they've overpacked, what they've replaced, and what has earned a permanent place in their kit. It's a practical conversation about choosing gear with purpose, not just following the latest trends.

One of the most requested episodes in Takin’ A Walk history is back. Buzz Knight’s conversation with Tears for Fears -Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith — the British duo behind some of the most emotionally charged music of the past forty years — resonated with listeners in a way that demanded a second listen. We’re bringing it back. In this encore presentation, Buzz sits down with Tears for Fears to explore the making of The Hurting and Songs from the Big Chair, the albums that gave the world “Shout,” “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” “Head Over Heels,” and “Mad World.” Roland and Curt open up about the therapeutic ideas — primal scream therapy, Arthur Janov’s work, the pain that fueled those early records — that shaped not just their sound but their entire creative identity. The conversation with Tears for Fears goes deep: the behind-the-scenes tension and unlikely alchemy that produced their biggest hits, the creative split that threatened to end it all, and the emotional reunion that eventually led to their acclaimed 2022 comeback album The Tipping Point. They also reflect on four decades of influence — on new wave, synth-pop, alternative rock, and generations of artists who grew up with these songs. If you missed it the first time, now’s your chance. Fifty-six travelers met in the Windy City to visit some of the subjects we've covered over the years: Bertha Palmer, Frances Glessner Lee, Anne Frank, Georgia O'Keeffe, Jane Addams, and so many more. We took a good look at our favorite history hub - the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition, got up close and personal with Tiffany glass, stayed in opulent splendor at the Palmer House, and ate our weight in Chicago dogs and deep dish pizza. We've learned a lot, and made memories we'll never forget, but the most important thing the city gave us was the friends we made along the way. Learn more about your ad choices. The attack led to the first federal Antifa terrorism prosecution — and later convictions — in U.S. history.U.S. District Judge Mark T. Pittman sentenced ringleader Benjamin Hanil Song to 100 years in prison. Song was convicted of the most serious offenses in the case, including attempted murder and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. Prosecutors proved at trial that he shot Alvarado Police Lt. Thomas Gross in the neck during the Fourth of July attack last year.Bradford Morris, a trans militant and sex worker known as “Meagan Morris,” who lived in a Dallas commune with other trans individuals he referred to as his “wives,” was sentenced to 50 years. (The Kessler Heights neighborhood commune also functioned as one of the group's bases.)The defendants were among nine Antifa members convicted by a federal jury in March following the first federal Antifa terrorism trial in U.S. history. Their prison sentences are the longest in American history for convicted violent Antifa members.Feds Drop Hammer on 15 Minnesota Antifa Members Accused of Organized Anti-ICE Violence 15 members of an Antifa cell in the Twin Cities have been federally indicted over mass anti-ICE violence in JanuaryA federal grand jury has indicted 15 members and associates of a Twin Cities Antifa network accused of organizing violent coordinated efforts to obstruct U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minnesota. The 94-page indictment charges the defendants with conspiracy to impede or injure federal agents and officers, alleging they worked together from January through June 2026 to prevent ICE and other Department of Homeland Security personnel from carrying out federal duties.A member of the cultlike Zizians group is charged in the killings of her parents in PennsylvaniaIn this image from video, Michelle Zajko, who authorities say is associated with a cultlike group known as Zizians, is escorted into court for a pretrial hearing in Cumberland, Maryland, on January 16, 2026.AP — A member of the cultlike group known as Zizians has been charged with murder in the shooting of her parents at their Pennsylvania home on her 30th birthday, and a prosecutor said Wednesday she wasn't acting alone.Delaware County District Attorney Tanner Rouse said evidence from a neighbor's doorbell camera, ballistics and analysis of cellphone records have left investigators certain Michelle Zajko is at least partly responsible for the deaths of her parents, Rita and Richard. They were shot in her childhood playroom on New Year's Eve 2022, surrounded by her old dolls and toys.“At this time we do not know who her co-conspirators were, but we are very certain that Michelle Zajko was in the home and arranged for the death of her parents,” Rouse said. The new charges against Zajko, who has been jailed in Maryland on other charges since February 2025, include murder, burglary and conspiracy charges in her parents' deaths. She has denied killing them, and in court filings suggested her father might have killed her mother and himself.“I didn't murder my parents,” she wrote in an April 2025 “ Open Letter to the World” that her attorney sent to The Associated Press.Authorities had long described Zajko as a person of interest. The two deaths are among six linked to the Zizians, a group of young, highly intelligent computer scientists who appear to share radical beliefs about veganism, animal rights, gender identity and artificial intelligence. Since 2022, members have been tied to the death of one of their own during an attack on a California landlord, the landlord's subsequent killing, the Zajkos' deaths in Pennsylvania, and a highway shootout in Vermont that left a border agent and another Zizian dead.Zizians face charges in multiple statesZajko, now 33, also is charged with providing the gun used to kill U.S. Border Patrol Agent David Maland in January 2025, though nothing has happened in that case. She was arrested in Maryland a few weeks later along with Daniel Blank and Jack “Ziz” LaSota, whom authorities describe as the group's leader. Police who responded to a landowner's complaint about suspicious people parked in box trucks on his property described them as having “ties with the Zizians Cult” and said they would be questioned about crimes across the country.Zajko had been estranged from her parents in the year leading up to their deaths, the prosecutor said. In a January 2022 text message to her father, she complained that her mother had “assumed the worst” about her since she was a child.“Every time I interact with mom in a nonsuperficial way she spends the time insulting a life she knows nothing about,” Zajko wrote. Hours before her death, Rita Zajko apologized to her daughter and wished her a happy birthday.“That text went unanswered,” Rouse said.Richard Zajko's sister-in-law, Roseanne Zajko, thanked police and prosecutors Wednesday, saying that her family has endured “countless days of darkness and despair” waiting for justice.SCOOP: Radical LGBQ and so-called “T” activists at a Pride event in Amarillo, TX, caught on camera ASSAULTING two Christian men

World-renowned astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson (Author of Take Me To Your Leader: Perspectives on Your First Alien Encounter) returns to the Mayim Bialik's Breakdown studio for one of his most mind-bending conversations yet, covering UFOs, aliens, consciousness, near death experiences, secret government speculation, DMT entities, Antarctica's hidden lakes, and what humanity may discover beyond Earth.Neil reveals why he REFUSED an invitation to inspect an alleged alien body and explains what most people get wrong about extraterrestrials. He shares his biggest problems with how aliens are portrayed in Hollywood, why alien life may not need to be silicon-based, and whether stories about reverse-engineered UFO technology (including theories involving the Wright Brothers) hold any scientific weight. He also addresses the mysterious deaths and disappearances of U.S. scientists connected to nuclear research and aerospace programs, and whether any of it could realistically be tied to nonhuman intelligence, UAPs, or classified technology. The conversation goes even deeper into consciousness and altered states. We explore the controversial DMT laser protocol experiments and why so many experiencers report seeing the same “source code,” encountering entities, communicating with departed souls, or entering what feels like other dimensions. Neil explains the scientific evidence he would require before accepting out-of-body experiences or near death experiences as real phenomena existing outside the brain. He also reveals why he has never used drugs, why he does not believe consciousness survives bodily death, and breaks down his fascinating “3 varieties of truth” framework for understanding reality itself.Plus:- What Neil deGrasse Tyson hopes humanity's first contact with aliens would actually look like- How aliens & UFOs became mainstream cultural topics- Why he wanted to become part of the alien conversation- Whether underground lakes beneath Antarctica could serve as models for icy alien oceans elsewhere in the solar system- Future of astrobiology, extraterrestrial discovery, & human understanding of consciousnessThis is one of the deepest and most controversial discussions Neil deGrasse Tyson has ever had on aliens, UFOs, DMT, consciousness, near death experiences, and the search for life beyond Earth!Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson's latest book, Take Me To Your Leader: Perspectives on Your First Alien Encounter: https://neildegrassetyson.com/books/2026-05-take-me-to-your-leader/Follow us on Substack for Exclusive Bonus Content: https://bialikbreakdown.substack.com/BialikBreakdown.comYouTube.com/mayimbialikSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
