New 'Sode of GlitterLedger with Steven Eisman Alexis: Is there anything that you find appealing?Steven: About crypto?Alexis: YeahSteven: Nothing Alexis ZeroSteven: ZeroAlexis: Even the art?Steven: Nothing :D Fresh off of Eth Aspy and still High off of the altitude, and my own grandiose delusions, I have time to reflect on the groundbreaking takeaways of said conference. I have none. Well except to sell my SOL gains for Loubs and mix Lithium and Glitter in a blender From Duane Reade. My conference was spent on a quest for the next billionaire knee deep in an algorithmic pegged to the yen Ponzi scheme based in a tax haven country with decent restaurants. I am the most shameless fame seeker of my generation and would eat glass for the chance be instagrammed with a Household name, whether you created Optimism or Waitressed on Vanderpump Rules, or shorted sub prime mortgages; As long as you can fund the lifestyle to which I am accustomed I will love you endlessly. Which brings me to my guest Steven Eisman, an unsung Hero of our time, best known for Steve Carell's portrayal of him in The Big Short. The creation of Bitcoin is owed to the genius of Steven Eisman. Had he not predicted the mortgage collapse spurring the Financial crisis, nothing would have incentivized Craig Wright to write a White paper. Steven and I first met on the set of the Big Short many years ago when I auditioned to play the role that ultimately went to Ryan Gosling. But I stayed on to help with Craft Services and organized the first cast after party at a college bar in New Orleans. Steven has had a fascinating existence and has had a tremendously successful career. His claim to fame beyond his full head of hair is for shorting collateralized debt obligations, and I'm working on a rap song to further educate. Cardi B you know where I'm at Steven drops some advice on my crypto burgeoning hedgefund called Veni Vidi Vici Off Chain and I'm raising at a 10 billion dollar valuation FDV TVL LTP Safe 1:1 with a soft soft bank commitment. It's a long, short very biased Staked Liquid ETH Strategy light on Stacks and Dogwif hats,) And then he provides great (not) financial career advice, behind the scenes E True Hollywood takes on the film, and industries outside of digital assets that one could pay attention to if one can drag oneself away from DeFi meme pools. Steven's pedigree is a Jewish Girl's Hinge dream what with his Harvard degree coupled with his employment as MD PM for Neuberger Berman's Private Asset Management Divisj. Beyond blockchain's goal of creating an underpinning of a new financial infrastructure, it is that girls in crypto end up a with a man like this. There is an ordinal written in the Genesis Block after the Brink of Collapse that spells this out. Steven's other wisdom besides “ Incentives trump ethics every time, ” is that he does not own any crypto but he has also been wrong. He has also been very right. #GlitterLedger
Lela Checco, who works in craft services in the Pittsburgh film industry. She talks about what craft service is and what her job entails.
Les, Kurt, and Jason are ready to dissect a Lifetime movie that SHOULD hit the sweet spot, Lifetime's Ladies of the 80's a Divas Christmas starring Morgan Fairchild, Nicolette Sheridan, Donna Mills, Loni Anderson, Linda Gray, and Christopher Adkins. But first, we get the Blac Chyna news that she and Tyga are now getting along and sharing joint custody of their son. Kumbaya. Then, the guys test whether or not THEY are as powerful as a Siskel and Ebert review that once got Alen Zweibel's son bullied as they dig into this week's movie. Even stacked with so many 80's icons, this movie's many lapses in simple logic make it a rough watch that needed more actual tension between the characters that's not even saved by using (potentially) scalding hot gravy in a food fight and winning an Emmy by showing one's gray hair. Xanadu is a musical fantasy film directed by Robert Greenwald, starring Olivia Newton-John, Gene Kelly, and Michael Beck. Containing a soundtrack heavily featuring the music of the band Electric Light Orchestra, Xanadu followed the story of a struggling artist in Los Angeles, who suddenly finds himself in the company of a mysterious woman, who encourages him to open a nightclub alongside a former big band orchestra leader, and mysterious circumstances abound. Though the film was a failure commercially and critically, and even helped inspire the creation of the Golden Raspberry Awards, the film would develop a strong cult following, even inspiring a Broadway show based on the film, and several songs from the movie would become Billboard top 40 hit singles. On this episode of Hell Is A Musical, with the recent passing of Olivia Newton-John fresh in their heads, Lilz and Scott sit themselves down for an impromptu screening of Xanadu. Join them as Scott flubs Michael Beck's name, Lilz eats delicious chicken wings, and both of them do egregiously bad Australian accents.Seriously.The worst....with Lilz & Scott!
Michelle Tuan is a comedian and actress based in Los Angeles. I met Michelle when she worked at Opening Ceremony in New York and I told her I was taking comedy writing classes because that time I believed I could write for SNL and told her about my spiritual journey about being a comedian but it was most likely a quarter life crisis. But instead she became a comedian herself and has been in commercials. I'm so proud of her. You can catch Michelle hosting Craft Services on Popshop Live every Tuesday at 6PM PST. I can't stop playing her IG stories. When you watch her videos, it's like you're about to eat pop rocks and then you're about to get that popping sensation. That's how I feel when I see her. It's a tingly sensation or I just smoked a ton of weed. Either or I feel good or I don't really know how to feel. Socially awkward social butterfly but with jokes. The artist formerly known as @ohnobravo (now @ohnochels!) joins Donny and Quin, and after Donny is tormented by his podcast husband and his actual husband, the three discuss the most recent episode of Salt Lake City. In a lesson to not record a podcast episode and sit on it for a week, the three discuss how much they love Jennie and how they believe she is the future of this show. (News cycles move VERY quickly around here. Opinions on current events surrounding Jennie will be addressed in the next episode.) They also dive into Whitney's witch-like girls' night and decide which characters from "The Craft" they are (apparently, Neve Campbell is a hot commodity around these parts). Finally, they get into Meredith's 10 boyfriends and choose which wife has the hottest husband (based on looks alone, like it should be!) Love ya, baby! Bye! Want bonus episodes? Writer, Director, Actor, and Craft Services expert Marshall Cook talks about his new movie Film Fest satirizing the film festival circuit and working with several other unrelated Cooks on the set. Marshall Cook, works along with Rachael Leigh Cook (She's All That, Josie and the Pussy Cats) and Matt Cook (Man With A Plan, That's Not Funny), in the new comedy movie Film Fest, satirizing the film festival scene. Now we definitely make a lot of jokes about Cooks in the Kitchen but surprisingly not a single one is related to each other. Add in Will Sasso, Sara Rue and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter turned podcaster and comedian Brendan Shaub and we've got a recipe for a good time...yes we recognize that bad puns. Cook and I even talk about Sasso and my addiction to 90 Days Fiance and out love of reality television. Film Fest premiered to rave reviews at the Austin Film Festival and is now available on Amazon Prime Video and iTunes. Official Synopsis: After submitting their first film "Unknown Unknowns" to every major film festival with no pick up, Logan (Matt Cook) feels defeated until one day, his producer, Alex (Diona Reasonover) succeeds in getting the film into a festival, the Hollywylde Film Festival. No Sundance by any means, and with no real connections, Hollywylde is their only hope at a distribution deal. Skeptic at best, Montgomery Nash (Will Sasso), festival organizer, uses all his charm to turn their attitudes around. But will it be the push they need? FILM FEST is a fun look behind the curtain of what it's really like for filmmakers and critics alike at the perceived glitzy film fest world. Marshall Cook wrote and directed the film, and even makes an appearance on screen. For more information about Film Fest visit Marshall Cook's official website at www.marshallcook.com. Follow Marshall Cook on social media via Twitter @MarshallCook and Instagram @thismarshallcook. Follow Film Fest on Instagram @filmfestfilm. Shalley shares what it was like growing up with the name Kumquat and she shows off her fully loaded utility belt. That of course dear listeners is Resident Alien.
