On the latest NFL Players: Second Acts podcast, Super Bowl champion Kayvon Webster joins Peanut Tillman and Roman Harper to share his journey from chasing an NFL dream to building a life of purpose beyond football. Kayvon reflects on growing up with a clear goal of playing in the NFL, his path to South Florida, and his “welcome to the league” moments — including getting drafted by his childhood favorite team, the Denver Broncos, and meeting his idol Champ Bailey. He discusses earning his place in Denver’s legendary No Fly Zone defense, which he says thrived on veteran leadership. The conversation turns to winning a Super Bowl, the celebration that followed, and the reality of life after football. Kayvon opens up about not giving himself time to dwell on leaving the game, instead pouring his energy into entrepreneurship — launching a food truck while still trying out for teams. His business quickly outgrew expectations, including serving frontline workers during the pandemic. Kayvon also shares how a torn Achilles sparked a new creative chapter, leading to a children’s book inspired by Black inventors and motivational videos created for his kids. Through business, storytelling, and service, Webster explains how he’s living his purpose by helping others believe in their dreams — the ultimate second act. The NFL Players: Second Acts podcast is a production of the NFL in partnership with iHeart Media.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

For the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, or CEPI (cepi.net), it is their reason for existing. Joining me for this conversation are Valentina Bernasconi, Head of Laboratory Science for CEPI, and Marie-Eve Poupart, Lead Scientist In Charles River's Immunology department. Together we discuss CEPI's progress so far, how Charles River is contributing to the cause, and how we can plan for the unknown Disease X while simultaneously handling current outbreaks of deadly diseases like Ebola, Marburg, Nipah virus, Lassa Fever, and chikungunya.

From a viral video alleging widespread daycare fraud to the trillions of dollars rushed out during the COVID pandemic, Michael adds context, skepticism, and historical perspective. STAGNATION UNDER SURVEILLANCE Colleague Anne Stevenson-Yang, Wild Ride. The severe lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic shattered consumer confidence, leaving citizens insecure and unwilling to spend, which stalled economic recovery. Local governments, cut off from credit and burdened by debt, struggle to provide basic services. Faced with economic stagnation, Xi Jinping has rejected market liberalization in favor of increased surveillance and control, prioritizing regime security over resolving the structural debt crisis or restoring the dynamism of previous decades. One of America's largest homebuilders says its average home price is down more than 20 percent from the peak of the pandemic housing boom. But a closer look shows much of that decline is being driven by incentives, not deep price cuts. In this episode of Real Estate News for Investors, Kathy Fettke breaks down new data from ResiClub on Lennar's pricing strategy, including how mortgage-rate buydowns and buyer credits are reshaping what homes actually cost. We also look at what rising incentives mean for builder margins, buyer demand, and the broader housing market as affordability pressures persist. This report explains why headline price declines can be misleading—and what investors should really be watching as the market searches for balance. If the first quarter of the 21st Century has been rich in one thing, it is anxiety. Pandemics, asteroids, climate change, global instability, the cost of living, tsunamis, migration – the list of things to be worried about seems to grow longer every day. We should thank our lucky stars then for Oxford Professor of Geography Danny Dorling. In The Next Crisis (Verso), he delves into the data with characteristic diligence and level-headedness to discover what we're worried about, what we shouldn't be worried about, what we should be worried about and what we should do about it. Dorling was joined by writer and philosopher Arianne Shahvisi. In episode 131 of Game Design Unboxed, we chat with game designer Matt Leacock about his “infamous” game Pandemic. Matt explains how his path into game design was shaped by watching his artsy uncle create games as a hobby and by growing up surrounded by "bad" games from the 1970s that he couldn't help but try to improve. We discuss how overly competitive family game nights pushed him toward cooperative play, and how his first true co-op game inspired him to design experiences where players succeed or fail together. That philosophy, paired with an interest in chain reactions and the cultural relevance of disease in the early 2000s became the foundation of Pandemic. We talk about the thought process behind the game's map, designing with real-world locations, drawing from existing game mechanics, and the value of diverse and remote playtesting. We also discuss working on game expansions, legacy design, teamwork, and how strong design skills support better prototypes and long-term vision. Featuring: Matt Leacock - Guest Danielle Reynolds - Host

"HEAD and HANDS need a mediator. THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN HEAD AND HANDS MUST BE THE HEART!"Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Holmes Movies Podcast team. Here's to a more prosperous and great 2026.Welcome to the ninth episode of our ongoing series: Fascism On Film. Each episode of this series, the Holmes Brothers look and review a film that has to do with fascism. During the episodes, the brothers look and see how the aspects and portrayal of fascism shown in the film relate to current and/or past events. On this Fascism on Film episode, the Holmes Brothers look at Fritz Lang's colossally influential science fiction epic, Metropolis. Released in 1927, Metropolis is a masterpiece of German Expressionist cinema that has inspired every sci fi movie from Star Wars to Blade Runner to even Tim Burton's Batman films. The film has even inspired music videos like Queen's Radio Ga-Ga and Madonna's Express Yourself, the music video for this song was directed by David Fincher. The film is set in a futuristic world. A sprawling concrete jungle that is reminiscent of Manhattan. The working class work below in the bowels of the city keeping it running while the wealthy upper class live up in decadence. Freder (played by Gustav Fröhlich), the son of a wealthy city master, falls in love with Maria a saintly and beautiful girl. She is kidnapped and she is used to bring the robot designed and built by Rotwang (Rudolf Klein-Rogge). Using Maria's likeness, the Machine causes chaos and Maria and Freder try to help save and bridge the divide between the people. We hope you enjoy this episode and stay tuned for more episodes of this Fascism On Film series.Be sure to check out our Monument Valley Film on our YouTube Channel.Anders's screenwriter work can also be seen at work in the horror, car chase thriller Delivery Run, co-written with & directed by Joey Palmroos. The holidays are when drinking quietly ramps up for a lot of people. More parties, more stress, more excuses, and habits that feel temporary but often aren't. This episode is for anyone reflecting on their relationship with alcohol, substances, or compulsive habits and questioning whether those patterns are actually supporting the life and health they want going forward. This episode features host Dave Asprey joined by Luke Storey, a motivational speaker, spiritual teacher, and host of the top-rated podcast The Life Stylist, which has surpassed 10 million downloads. Luke is widely regarded as a pioneer in health and wellness, known for articulating transformative principles around spirituality, addiction recovery, and mental, emotional, and physical health optimization. Together, Dave and Luke explore why getting sober and staying sober rarely comes down to willpower alone. They unpack how addiction often shows up as biology, trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and learned coping patterns, not just substance use. The conversation expands the definition of addiction to include socially accepted behaviors like alcohol, nicotine, work, scrolling, and distraction. The discussion moves through long term sobriety, discernment around substances, the role of spirituality in recovery, and how people break free from compulsive loops by addressing root causes instead of chasing short term fixes. Nuanced topics like abstinence, nicotine, psychedelics, and altered states are explored with clear boundaries around safety, intention, and stability. You'll learn: • Why willpower alone fails to sustain sobriety • How addiction is driven by nervous system wiring and trauma • Why socially accepted habits can still be addictive • How to tell the difference between craving and intuition • What supports long term recovery beyond abstinence • Why identity and environment matter more than discipline • How sobriety creates clarity, resilience, and freedom over time Thank you to our sponsors! -TRU KAVA | Go to https://trukava.com/ and use code DAVE10 for 10% off. -Caldera + Lab | Go to https://calderalab.com/DAVE and use code DAVE at checkout for 20% off your first order. -Vibrant Blue Oils | Grab a full-size bottle for over 50% off at https://vibrantblueoils.com/dave. COVID-19 AND THE EMPOWERMENT OF UNELECTED BUREAUCRATS Colleague Victor Davis Hanson. Hanson asserts that the COVID-19 pandemic empowered unelected bureaucrats to enforce lockdowns that disproportionately crushed the middle class while enriching large corporations and the "Zoom class." He claims the scientific consensus was manipulated to protect China regarding the virus's origins and that early dissenters who questioned the efficacy of lockdowns and masks have since been vindicated. The response highlighted a deep divide between the "essential" working class and the insulated elites who managed the crisis from safety. NUMBER 8
