The method requires a commitment of 12 minutes a day, which includes 10 minutes of decompressing and accessing the unconscious mind, and 2 minutes of tracking and reflection. Resistance to change and self-sabotage can arise when trying to adopt healthier habits, but acknowledging the positive intentions behind these behaviours and devaluing the old habits can help in the process of upgrading. BEST MOMENTS "I just kept my body in fight or flight mode... I just needed to wait and recover." "It's very hard for people who come to see me to acknowledge the fact that part of what is causing these symptoms or prolonging these symptoms is what is going on in their head." Today we have a very special guest who is actually a celebrity! Maybe you'll recognize his voice as a presenter on Sky Sports in the UK. But today, he is putting on his biohacker hat and share with us “How to stop feeling like shit” and put the energy back into our batteries. He wrote the book on it. It's called “When life is a bit meh…you need energy”. Tony wrote a book on energy, because he needed it for himself after he got really ill while on holiday in the Philippines. He promised himself that if he could hack his health and energy, he would share it with the world in a podcast. And that's what he did. You've got to listen to Tony's podcast Zestology. It's amazing. Over the last 6 years he has interviewed nearly everyone worth knowing in health, medicine, science and wellness from all around the world. Like Ben Greenfield, Dave Asprey, Aubrey de Gray and Wim Hof to name just a few. The main purpose of his podcast is to help you find more energy, vitality and motivation in life. I have learned so many great health tips from him, found out about cool new biohacking gadgets and even supplements I never heard of before. I love Tony's honesty in his biohacking experiments and really appreciate how he shares when things go wrong too. It's not only rainbows and unicorns in the biohacking sphere. Although people may know about Tony's TV day job, they may not know that he wrote 3 other books before this new one. They're all about NLP. He's a master practitioner himself in Neuro-linguistic Programming, which he explains to us today. And one last thing you may not know about Tony. He is histamine intolerant and has created a whole website around it called HistamineIntolerance.net and hacked this as well. For three months, he languished in bed, while even the top specialists in London were unable to determine how to treat him. He describes feeling “sad and weak … as if I had chronic fatigue syndrome.” And yet, I can tell you after a half hour chat with Tony, he is anything but that. This man – whose podcast is rightly called Zestology – has an infectious love for life, a natural exuberance, and boundless joie de vivre. These days he’s also especially excited about ‘tapping’, also known as EFT, the Emotional Freedom Technique. For it was EFT that actually healed his strange disease. After a skilled practitioner tapped on Tony’s face the very first time, he had an intense emotional release. And soon the virus was completely gone. Join us as Tony talks about maintaining a zestful life, and what his ‘magic bullet’ is for Emergency Zest as needed. Here’s what I learned … The 12th Century cure for hangovers that still works How EFT works and some miracle stories about it Tony’s surprising high energy breakfast drink (it involves butter!) Other early morning high energy practices Why the face is so important in overall health and healing The perils of hanging on to control and why we really do have to let go … and just a great general ramble through all kinds of interesting topics around energy, healing and pure love for life! Angela is in conversation with Tony Wrighton, histamine intolerance journalist, Sky Sports Presenter and host of ‘The Zestology Podcast’. Both Tony and Angela are passionate about optimising their health and in this wide-ranging conversation, they discuss a variety of hacks to improve your health including natural hacks they are personally exploring that can easily be tried by anyone wanting to enhance their health. In this episode packed with valuable content, they discuss topics including hormones throughout the menstrual cycle, the importance of protein, respecting recovery as a key part of your routine and Tony’s passion project histamine intolerance with great advice on how to test and understand any histamine intolerance.   KEY TAKEAWAYS When you have been pushed to a position of ‘burn out’ the time it takes to rebuild shouldn’t be underestimated. When you are in a position where your body is trying to stimulate cortisol production it will eventually compromise immune function. You have to learn to fully respect recovery and its importance in your routine. When you have an iron deficiency it negatively impacts any nootropics you may take. Sometimes you need a gentler workout, depending on how you feel and what you’ve done. As hormone levels start to drop, into your forties, It’s vital to make sure you are getting enough protein, stimulating muscle protein synthesis through eating protein and doing resistance training. The more muscle fibre you have the better your oestrogen levels are. A histamine intolerance is when you create too much histamine in the body. Some foods have histamine and some foods create a histamine reaction Freshly prepared food is best for anyone who has an intolerance of histamine. You can reduce histamine in your diet and then gradually work back towards a more normal diet. Nutrition is a very important aspect of managing histamine levels and you can effectively test to see if you have a histamine intolerance. Your histamine levels are influenced by the foods you eat and focusing on the quality of your food can make a positive difference.   BEST MOMENTS It’s definitely different for women because of the fluctuating hormones throughout the month’ ‘It’s about getting more in tune with yourself and understanding what you should be doing’ ‘If you continue to push hard you get the opposite effect’   VALUABLE RESOURCES High Performance Health podcast series Transform your sleep DNA optimization  High Performance website  Zestology Podcast Tony Wrighton website   ABOUT THE HOST Angela Foster   Angela is a Nutritionist, Health and Performance Coach. Mark Scott sits down with author, podcaster, and television and radio broadcaster Tony Wrighton on his passion for taking life to the next level through alternative sources of energy. At one point in his life, Tony contracted an unidentified tropical virus. Doctors were at a loss as to what it was or how he could be treated. This drove Tony to seek out unconventional solutions, in this case, tapping. Ten minutes into his first session with an emotional freedom therapist specializing in chronic fatigue, Tony knew that he was going to be okay. Following this experience, Tony learned about biohacking through Dave Asprey’s Bulletproof Radio podcast, and from there he was thrust into an exciting quest for unorthodox strategies and solutions for long-term health and wellness. Listen in as Mark and Tony discuss such topics as low-histamine diets, NLP, and Tony’s very own podcast on “energy, vitality, motivation”, Zestology.

He regularly appears as a guest on other shows talking about energy, vitality, and motivation. Favorite Success Quote “Men of lofty genius, when they are doing the least work are the most active” ~Leonardo Da Vinci Key Points 1. Do Less to Achieve More  I want you to imagine that you have two friends who are starting a business. The first friend is a firey, gung-ho, type-A personality who jumps into building his business operating by the mentality of “Ready Fire Aim!”. He works hard, hustling for 16-20 hours a day, working weekends, and sleeping at his office, but his does so without taking a moment to think or plan. The second friend, although just as oriented for action, takes a few steps back before launching his business. He learns his market, he spends time every day sitting in thought and contemplating his goals, he takes long walks in the parks after asking questions of his subconscious, and when he does start his business, he has a clear picture of exactly what he needs to do and how he needs to do it. Who do you think will be more successful? While society might tell you that the first man will learn at an accelerated pace and achieve success quicker, Tony believes that the second man will actually achieve greater levels of success in the long run. Even though he was doing “less”, spending plenty of time relaxing and living at a leisurely pace, Tony suggests that he will achieve more in his business because he is giving himself the mental bandwidth to properly approach problems and fully understand his goals. Here’s another example. Imagine that I told you and a friend that you needed to get from San Diego to New York. As soon as your friend hear’s the directions, he laces up his Nikes and starts hauling ass towards the East. You, however, take a step back, check your bank account and realize that you have more than enough to purchase a non-stop flight from the San Diego airport all the way to JFK. After eight hours, you have successfully passed through security, boarded the plane, and landed at your destination. Your friend, on the other hand, will not arrive in New York for several weeks (unless he is some sort of ultra athlete). Even though he took more action and did “more” it took him longer to accomplish the task and he had a more difficult journey. As Abraham Lincoln said, “If I had 8 hours to cut down a tree, I would spend the first six sharpening my ax“. 2. You Owe it to Yourself to Pursue Your Passion  When has there ever been a greater time to be alive? Life expectancy is up, crime, poverty, and other societal diseases are down and there has never been a time in all of human history where the average man could climb the ranks of society and achieve at whatever levels he desires regardless of race, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or age. There has never been a better time to be alive! So why are you wasting away your opportunities? Why aren’t you pursuing your passions? Why aren’t you using all of the amazing technology and political freedoms that you have to build a life you love, a life that inspires you, a life filled with passion? Why the hell are you wasting this opportunity!? You have one shot at this life, one opportunity to live to the fullest, one chance… Why waste it pursuing careers and goals that you aren’t truly passionate about? I am not telling you that you need to quit your job and start your own company, or even that you need to start a side hustle. I am saying that your life is too damn valuable to waste on uninspiring crap that doesn’t light you up. Do things you enjoy. Pursue your passions. Have fun. You owe it to yourself to enjoy your life! Because you only get one of them. 3. Just Share the Truth  Most men suck at telling the truth. It’s just a fact. And I don’t mean that we are all liars or manipulative a**holes. I simply mean that men are terrible at being authentic, honest, and vulnerable about what is really going on. Because, quite frankly, it’s hard. It’s hard to let other people in, to show our weakness, to admit that we don’t have everything figured out. It’s hard to stand out from the crowd and be the only person standing for a specific cause or belief. It’s hard to share your truth and be unabashedly you! But it’s worth it. Because when you share the truth, your truth…. You are free. You are free from the bullshit, free from the expectations of others, and free from all the societal garbage designed to hold you back. Share your truth and be yourself… Because anything else is a waste. 4. Manage Your Energy Not Your Time Have you ever wondered how some people who work so little can accomplish so much, while others, who work their fingers to the bone, can come up short again and again and again? If you have ever spent a significant amount of time among a pool of high achievers, you will quickly realize that hard work alone is not their secret to success. Many of them sleep 9 hours a night (James Altucher and Neil Patel both do this), several spend more time reading than working (Warren Buffet and Bill Gates), and the legendary Richard Branson somehow has the time to run 400+ companies, party on his own private island, and spend time with his family and friends! So what gives? If the answer isn’t spending more time on work, then what is it? Well, the answer that Tony and countless other guests have suggested is that the secret to success and productivity is not time management, but energy management. It doesn’t matter how much time you throw at a task, if you are too lethargic and groggy to properly function, you won’t be able to achieve it no matter how well you manage your time. Therefore, energy, not time should be seen as your greatest asset. But how in the world can one successfully manage your energy when there are so many different forces vying for your attention, time, and effort? While I could write a whole book on this topic (and plenty of my previous guests have), there are three simple hacks that you can implement today to 10x your energy in less than a week. First and foremost, you should give yourself a minimum of two hours a day to totally unplug. No cell phones, no TV, no computer screens, just yourself, your friends, and your favorite activities… That’s it. In our modern world, most people are wildly overstimulated resulting in massive levels of mental and physical fatigue, and while you can fight it for a while, the only truly effective method that I’ve found to reclaim your lost energy levels is to give yourself the gift of unplugging. In addition to stepping away from your iPhone and laptop every day, you must also make an effort to exercise at least 20 minutes a day. While it might seem counterintuitive to do something that takes energy in order to gain energy, study after study has irrevocably shown a direct correlation between exercise and energy levels (not to mention mental and physical wellbeing and longevity). And the good news is that it doesn’t take much! You can try out the simple 7-minute workout promoted by the New York Times, go for a 20-minute jog, or just do a few calisthenics circuits from your office. Whatever you do, I promise that if you stick with it, you will see your energy levels skyrocket. Finally, for the last piece of advice, I must defer to the legendary Peter F. Drucker who said: “What gets measured gets managed.” This is true in your business, your finances, and yes, your energy levels. If you want a simple hack to immediately boost your energy levels so that you can accomplish more in less time and truly enjoy your life, then start tracking your energy levels throughout the day and note the elements in your life that are leading to either an increase or decrease in energy. Every body is unique, therefore what helps or hinders one person’s energy might not have the same effect for you. So tracking your energy levels and noticing patterns is the only way that you can truly optimize your energy and ensure peak performance. 5. Success at the Expense of Your Health Isn’t Success at All  One of the greatest ironies of life is that the aggressive Type-A individuals who work themselves to death in order to achieve success are often the same individuals who die young and leave behind their wealth before they can ever truly enjoy it! So many people work day in and day out to build their dream, neglecting their health and letting their bodies fall to the wayside. And when they finally do hit that million dollar mark, epic IPO, or acquisition… They are too tired, fat, and sick to enjoy any of the rewards for their hard work. Why the hell would you want that fate? I don’t know about you, but I am in this for the long haul. If I have to wait until I am 40 to become a millionaire so that I can take care of my body, get to the gym, eat well, sleep plenty, and enjoy my life, I will happily wait on the seven figures. I don’t believe that it’s worth it to arrive at my goal too sick and tired to enjoy it. Realize that nothing is worth your health. No goal is worth losing your vitality. And quite frankly, if you focus on your health first, you will find that your other goals and desires will actually manifest faster because you can pursue them with more energy and clarity than ever before.

Transcript uncorrected: Day 93 Anyone for tennis?   Tuesday and we are battening down the hatches, the wind is returning again with a vengeance, so far, the summer here has not really happened. Today it is overcast and sticky humid.   Our Gym has opened, and we went last night, OK so it is not the normal evening busy, but there were people and Chris’ class was about half the normal number.  What was encouraging was the queue to join the Gym, at one point ten people deep, well social distanced.   There were a lot of arrows and nowhere to sit, most of the members were totally ignoring the arrows, years of travelling on the tube and I can’t help following arrows on the stairs and corridors.   Alcohol cleaner dispensers were everywhere, the same ones they use in hospitals and we had to clean equipment before and after, but twice a day they have one of those fog cleaning machines you now see on trains and aircraft.   The changing rooms were open, but you are, currently encouraged not to use them.  And more importantly you could shower, a decision has been made that it is probably more unsanitary to keep the showers closed than open.   Obviously, the difference in Spain is that everyone wears a mask, and everybody was, with only one exception.  Once you found your place in the class and put your equipment out you could take off your mask and, frankly it was like a normal BodyPump class just a bit shorter.   Out on the tennis courts people were playing tennis and at the back where the Padel courts were, they were also enjoying that game.    Padel is a cross between tennis, with a thicker racket come shovel and slightly softer ball, with a splash of squash thrown in as it is played in an enclosed court, the ones at our gym being glass. They are about half the size of a tennis court.   It was a Mexican by the name of Enrique Corcuera who in 1969 decided to adapt his Squash court at his home in Acapulco and he took some ideas from Platform Tennis which had been developed back in 1912 in New York as an all-weather way of playing tennis, but on a much smaller court, a third the size of a tennis court.   Enrique created  "Paddle Corcuera". So he is the first person to create the “Padel” game.   But it was Enrique's Spanish friend Alfonso who loved the game and brought it back to mainland Spain, he decided to create the first two Padel courts in a Tennis club in Marbella in 1974.   Now more than ten million people play Padel, it is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, and of course we have outdoor state of the art courts at our gym.  I have to say I struggled with tennis, the court for me is a bit large, I am tempted to give Padel a go, it is a very, very popular in this part of Spain.   So last night felt a bit more normal, we met up with Carmen who joined the class, I have to say we were all huffing and puffing a lot more than usual, particularly me as the evil god Bacchus has been playing havoc with my weight.   It does occur to me that the massive financial downturn and job losses created by the virus is a very different financial crisis than before.  In the previous crisis I felt helpless, the decisions to bring the economy back was being made by the banks, you could only look on as a bystander.   Now here today I realise that if I took courage, went to the gym, or went shopping as the Brits did yesterday, took a holiday abroad, put up with even more misery at the airport,.. it would be my little bit to help bring the economies back along with the jobs that have been lost.   There is no denying that the world will be a different place, but how different it is actually is up to you and there is a better chance of a faster recovery than in previous times, unless you believe that the economic model the world runs on is broken for good.   My Client and friend Tony Wrighton how presents the brilliant Zestology Podcast has started making his own yoghurt and is thinking of going camping in the UK as a summer holiday this year!  I wonder how many other people are discovering The Good Life and change their whole way of thinking.   Here in Spain and certainly in this area, there are many Spanish families that have a small holding, a larger allotment, or grow fruit and vegetables in their garden. It is quite normal to be inundated with produce.  Last night Carmen brought us eggs, which she described as “Fresh from the arse of the chicken,” and lemons that were twisted and deformed, compared to those perfect lemons in the Supermarket but taste delicious.  My favourite fruits are the pomelos, what the Spanish call grapefruit, they are soft juicy and have that proper tangy grapefruit flavour, we get about a month of glut in the Autumn with those.   I am thinking of growing herbs and tomatoes, I tried to grow Mediterranean int in the UK but the first sign of frost it fell into a deadly swoon and died, you would think I would be able to grow it here, down below us the neighbours are turning their back garden into a grow your own with fruit trees and raised beds for veggies, I have to say I am looking forward to their harvest glut.   Tuesday and the day ends with the removal of Charlie the cockroach from Chris' bathroom, last night we had a swarm of flying red ants in the house, the sticky night and our house lights attracting them.  So maybe the Spanish summer will return proper next week, when Lockdown ends.

Tony Wrighton is one of television’s more familiar faces, having presented numerous shows for such channels as Sky Sports. He’s also an expert in NLP, and an author who’s been published in twelve languages. Tony is also a fierce proponent of the idea that everyone should live their life with more energy, vitality, and motivation. This week, Tony joins Angela to talk about his most valuable health hacks, how to increase your energy levels, and the various tracking techniques he uses to map out his health agenda. KEY TAKEAWAYS NLP stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programming, a term coined in the 1970s, and which Tony describes as "neuro-hacking"; a process of making your brain work better. NLP has many uses in advertising, psychology and teaching. It allows us to get things done that we may not feel inclined to do. Effective tracking of mood, energy levels and diet, can show us the best times in our lives to perform certain tasks. Tony uses a spreadsheet to map his schedule, and then to identify the way he feels at those times. Meditation done properly seems to create time between thoughts. It allows us to reduce the speed of our day, and by doing so, allows us to see that we often have more time in a day than we think. As well as mimicking the effects of fasting, Resveratrol also has been shown to reverse some of the effects of Alzheimer’s.  One of the simplest hacks that Tony performs in order to provide himself with higher energy levels, is to arrange something fun. The sense of excitement and anticipation adds an energy level that even Tony finds sometimes surprising. Angela recommends beginning your day at least half an hour before schedule. By allowing yourself breathing room, you remove that morning rush that inevitably leads to fatigue and irritability later on. BEST MOMENTS ‘On a good day, what do we do? My big ambition in life is to make a career doing things that I enjoy and find interesting. For me that includes writing about mindfulness and the art of living, helping others, taking photographs, and talking to interesting people about interesting things. That's why I enjoy my recording my podcast. This latest episode is a perfect example of this, and it was a real honour to chat with Tony Wrighton who, like me, seems to be doing lots of things that interest him. If sport is your thing, you probably know him as a presented on Sky Sports, one of the biggest sport broadcasters in the world. But he's got a lot more going on than that, too. Tony is also an author, and one of the country's leading experts on Neuro Linguistic Programming, which is an amazingly powerful tool that uses language to create new behaviours, habits and ways of thinking. It has been put to use tackling addiction, improving self esteem, and is a fantastic communication tool for boosting engagement. And there are countless other applications for this fascinating skill. Tony also hosts the amazing podcast, Zestoloy, which discusses all sorts of ideas around boosting your energy. He talks to nutritionists, fitness gurus, psychologists and many more people about what it takes to be your best, to have the best life, and to operate at the highest levels of energy possible. Fascinating stuff. Our conversation goes all over the place, and we touch on the meaning of spirituality, how our mental states influence our health, imposter syndrome and a whole lot more. It was a real pleasure speaking with Tony, and I would implore you to subscribe to his podcast and read his books. If not, listen up because they are INCREDIBLE and the single best car rental booking site I’ve come across when it comes to finding the best deal on renting a car. If you’re like me and you travel a lot, AutoSlash can be a lifesaver! Unlike other car rental booking sites which offer up "standard rates", AutoSlash searches hundreds of coupons and discount codes for all the major rental companies to find you the lowest rate possible taking into account discounts you are already eligible for based on your membership affiliations. This includes discounts for members of AAA, Costco, AARP, credit cards and various frequent flyer programs that are free to sign up for. Instead of searching all over the place, and comparing rates, AutoSlash does all the work for you to find the lowest rate possible. Best of all, it's a free service. Once booked, you can track pricing on your reservation and AutoSlash will keep on looking for better deals right up until your pickup date. Rates often drop as the pickup date approaches, so you can often save a significant amount of money this way. Not only will they check the company you're currently booked with, but all other companies as well. If they find a lower rate, they'll email you so you can re-book and save. Many customers re-book multiple times as rates drop and AutoSlash finds better deals. AutoSlash searches all the major rental companies including many discount brands. Renters on average save 30% or more using AutoSlash and AutoSlash saves customers millions of dollars per year. I used to spend hours and hours trying to look up all sorts of coupons from so many different sites. I’ve literally wasted numerous days of my life trying to save money on getting a nice but affordable rental. But now, I don’t have to worry about that at all! Why? Because AutoSlash has my back and they take care of all this for me! And quite honestly, I kind of love the fact that they get to help me, and you, the regular hard-working elite man, save some extra cash, instead of having to fork it over to the massive corporate rental companies. Always a plus! And did I mention it's totally free? Yup, if you travel regularly, or make even one trip this year for that matter, make sure you check out AutoSlash now. They will definitely save you a boatload of money, and get you the best deal possible. Go to AutoSlash.com right now to start saving! Again, that’s AutoSlash.com!"

Manny Waks was 11 years old when he was first sexually abused. Raised in the ultra-Orthdaox sect of Judaism known as Chabad, he lacked the education or vocabulary to understand what was going on. By the time he was studying for his bar mitzvah, he was molested by a second perpetrator. Both men were members of staff at his school - the Yeshiva Centre in Melbourne, Australia. In this searingly honest, compelling and sometimes angry conversation with Olly, he recalls how he was groomed, abused, disbelieved, and shunned - and recounts the moment he decided, aged 18, to turn his back on Hasidic Judaism for ever - and join the Israeli Defense Force.(In 2013, Manny's second abuser, David Cyprys, was sentenced to eight years for sexually abusing Manny and eight other boys. Manny is now CEO of Kol v'Oz, established in Israel in 2016 to prevent child sexual abuse in Jewish communities globally. His book, ‘Who Gave You Permission?’, is out now).Elsewhere this week, in The Zeitgeist, Ollie Peart explains why ‘battle royale’ is the gaming format du jour, why China are investing in ‘feacal recognition’, and why Drake would rather be on Twitch than The Graham Norton Show. You might not know this about me but before I starting blogging as the Creative Introvert, I had a blog called - wait for it - Cat Food is Good For You. It was mostly about my food philosophy - my quest to find the perfect diet, the perfect exercise regime and perfect everything really. I was really into health in a big way. So many great things came out of that blog, and it's where I think I found my voice and my way of expressing myself at least through the written word. It was also when I started listening to podcasts, many of which I've traded in now for less-health oriented shows, but Zestology is one that I still insist on listening to when it comes to optimising all different aspects a healthy, happy life. Tony Wrighton is the host of Zestology, and as much as I love the guests he interviews, he is reason I listen and recommend his show to so many people. I was lucky enough to get to interview Tony for today's podcast - and - even more of a treat - this interview took place on a very sunny morning in an unusually quiet park in London.   What we discussed: What Tony learnt from a mysterious tropical disease Using Buddhist principles to handle tough times Tony's morning routine and how it's changed Finding the best meditation practise for you Do you do what you love or no? Tony's personality type The benefits of spending time with your friends Is it really important to know your ‘avatar'? Are introverts less susceptible to NLP techniques? Tony Wrighton is one of those guys who is talented in a number of areas. You may know him best from his role on Sky Sports, or perhaps from his podcast, Zestology. Tony loves to study the issue of human performance and is also a licensed NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) practitioner. This episode features Ari's conversation with Tony about NLP, how it can be used to be more persuasive, and what you can do to apply NLP practices to your own life. It's an intriguing conversation that is definitely worth your time. ## There's nothing worse than a bad NLPer. ~ Tony Wrighton As Ari and his guest, Tony Wrighton chatted about NLP, Ari asked what makes NLP persuasion techniques different than flat-out manipulation. Tony responded that every form of communication, in some way, is a form of manipulation - but it's how you go about it and the motives behind it that make all the difference. He said NLP can definitely be misused in that regard. In his words, “There's nothing worse than a bad NLPer.” You can learn how Tony uses NLP practices to encourage others and empower his own life, in this conversation. ## A simple example of NLP persuasion in communication, on this episode. Tony Wrighton demonstrated how NLP can be applied to everyday conversations through the use of the word “might” when making a request. “Dear, I wonder if you might bring me a cup of coffee?” Tony says the insertion of “might” into the sentence softens the request so that it sounds less like a command and more of a kind-hearted request. Psychologically, that kind of request falls more gracefully on the thoughts of the hearer and raises fewer objections. It's a simple technique that is second nature to Tony by now. You can hear more examples of how NLP can be used to increase the effectiveness of your daily communication, on this episode. ## Energy levels and happiness can increase by unplugging. At the end of every episode of Leverage Ari asks his guests for their top 3 tips for increased productivity. Today's guest, Tony Wrighton said that he's noticed a greater degree of happiness and energy in his own life by turning off his phone for at least 2 hours every day. Can you imagine what it might be like to have NO notifications ringing in your ear for a portion of every day? If not, you might need to try what Tony's suggesting. Tony shares some insightful tips from his experience as an NLP coach and broadcaster, on this episode of Leverage. ## Tracking things tangibly is one of the best ways to know what to tweak in your life. We've all been at the point in life where we know something needs to change, but we're not sure exactly what it is. One of the ways Tony Wrighton suggests discovering where to make the incremental tweaks in your life is to tangibly track things, using a spreadsheet. Sleep, exercise, nutrition, and many other aspects of personal life can be logged in ways that enable you to know exactly what's going on in your life and how it correlates to increased or decreased energy levels, mental clarity, and other vital things for performance. Be sure you listen to this episode to hear Tony's tips. ## Outline of This Episode - [0:03] Ari's introduction of Tony and how he got into NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programing). - [1:55] How NLP plays out practically in language and interactions. - [3:20] The difference between persuasion and manipulation - and how NLP persuades. - [6:14] How Tony has integrated NLP practices into his sportscasting. - [7:31] The use of performance tracking/NLP to help people gain more self-awareness. - [12:00] Tips for NLP-ing yourself[ - [14:20] Tony's top 3 pieces of advice for being more productive. ## Resources Mentioned - [www.TonyWrighton.com](http://www.TonyWrighton.com) - Tony's podcast: [Zestology](http://www.tonywrighton.com/zestology/) - [Sleepcycle](https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sleep-cycle-alarm-clock/id320606217?mt=8) - [The Oura Ring](https://ouraring.com/) - BOOK: [10% Happier](ht --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/lessdoing/message

To heal he used self-hypnosis and (Neuro Linguistic Programming) NLP. Today, as a NLP coach and podcast host he teaches others how to use relaxation and positive mental programming to give them the creativity, health and energy they seek. Tony is on Small Changes Big Shifts today to talk about how you can use Zestology and the power of relaxation to maintain energy and motivation.

Does the language we use directly relate to the quality of our vitality and health? What words or behaviors can we use to anchor healthy habits that stick? On today's episode, NLP practitioner Tony Wrighton stops by Wellness Force Radio to uncover the secrets behind getting more energy and vitality through neuro linguistic programming, emotional freedom technique, and how he overcame a life-threatening illness by using these powerful tools. Tony is a UK-based wellness expert, personal development author and Sky Sports host, with one of the most widely-downloaded self help podcasts/apps in the country. In addition, he's authored 19 books/audiobooks including three best sellers tied to improving your motivation, your vitality and your life. His brand platform, Zestology, draws hundreds of thousands each months, across his website/blog, podcast and popular app. Neuro Linguistic Programming Tony started using NLP techniques in his UK radio program to get more people listening, listening longer, and having better feelings about their listening. This episode is Part I of the episode II that I recorded on the Zestology Podcast. This is the episode for you if you are curious about self tracking, NLP, getting more energy, vitality and manage your moods to live a more rewarding life.  What is NLP? NLP studies how people do things well. NLP is a set of skills that improves your communication with other people (and yourself). NLP helps you manage your moods and run your own life more successfully. NLP can help with your personal development and the development of others. NLP is used a lot in business, self-improvement, sport, sales, therapy, and coaching. NLP Technique example 1 - Anchoring NLP Technique example 2 - Hypnosis     Tony Robbins is probably the world's foremost personal development trainer. He does not call his methods NLP, but originally trained with Richard Bandler and there are similarities in the approach. From Sickness To Health Tony was struck down by a virus a year ago while on holiday in the jungle in the middle of nowhere and ended up having three months off work, and basically in bed. The doctors said it might be glandular fever, but they didn't really know. It was a scary time, and since then, Tony has really focused on his health and energy as he slowly fought back to full health. “I was struck down by a virus while on holiday in the jungle in the middle of nowhere. I ended up having three months off work, and basically in bed." FREE HEALTH CONSULTATION: www.paleo.genbook.com Today's podcast is an episode that was originally recorded on Tony Wrighton's Zestology. We discuss stress and how your cortisol rhythm changes throughout the day. Most people think that cortisol is evil and that it's what causes their belly fat and if they can just get rid of their high cortisol, they will feel magical. The truth is that many people have low cortisol when we run an Adrenal Stress Profile test on them and that LOW cortisol is the real issue that causes their symptoms of fatigue. Initially, people thrive with the onset of stress. The new job or stressful situation such as moving into a new city can cause people to feel alive temporarily. Eventually the endorphin and cortisol high wears off and people begin to progress into deeper stages of adrenal fatigue. There are several supplements including Vitamin C Tonic that I use personally and have my clients take to support adrenal and immune health. These are the small baby steps that can tend to push people in the direction of healing. We also discuss lifestyle measures and how important it is to remove negative people from your life. If you feel drained after spending time with someone, it's not always true, but it could be that this person is toxic to you and that you need to distance yourself from them. It's hard when the people you love the most are the ones that bring you down, but I encourage you to limit the dosage of negativity you are exposed to from all sources. If you take this one lesson from today's podcast, you will improve your health. It's not how many things you need in life to bring you up, but rather how many negative sources of energy are bringing you down. Enjoy this episode and if you are ready to schedule your 15 minute free call with me to discuss your health symptoms and goals, you can do that right here. Paleo.genbook.com

"NLP is all about how we communicate with ourselves" - Tony Wrighton Today's guest is the host of the Zestology Podcast, Sky sports TV presenter, avid self tracker, and NLP specialist. Tony Wrighton got the idea for Zestology after getting an unknown tropical virus on a vacation to the Phillipines that totally exhausted him. He decided he needed to learn about ways to get more energy and now he shares what he has learned with the world. We are going to look at a couple of Tony's favorite ways to get more energy. We are going to talk about NLP and the language of how we talk to ourselves and others, as well as looking at how we can study and track our energy levels to find hidden correlations. Tony tells the story of how he closely tracked the amount of time he spent away from a screen each day and how less screen time led directly to an increase in energy. Tony hosted a morning radio program in the UK and Tony started using NLP techniques in his radio program to get more people listening, listening longer, and having better feelings about their listening. This episode can be considered Part II of the episode I recorded on the Zestology Podcast. This is the episode for you if you are curious about self tracking, NLP, getting more energy, or modeling your behavior after your heroes to become more successful! Zestology: Live with energy, vitality and motivation

How to improve your life with NLP, meditation and hypnosis, recorded live in London with Tony Wrighton #34 The set of skills that can help you be happier, healthier and more persuasive. Millions use NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) every day, and I've trained to the highest level in it. It's the basis for my books, audiobooks and underpins much of what we do on Zestology too. But what the hell is NLP - apart from a strange and slightly confusing name - and how could you use it now?  I recently made a conference speech about Zestology, meditation and the power of NLP. So this week’s Zestology podcast was recorded live at the NLP Talks event in Central London. My musings were basically a series of stories from my life and how NLP has shaped it, changed it and improved it.  The event also included the best heckle I've ever had! Listen out at around 16 minutes on the podcast for this random shout out from the crowd. If you'd like any of the following, then listen on for my personal experiences of NLP. Feel happier or more confident. Inspire others. Get creative (and build a cool sidecar like the one in the pic at the bottom of this blog. Not sure anyone could actually fit in that though...) Improve your presentation skills. Feel motivated towards something coming up in the future. Achieve different goals. Be more persuasive. Improve at sport Get over a phobia.
