Laurence Cole is a song elder and ritualist based in Port Townsend, Washington. An abiding thread throughout his life has been a longing to discover when, where, and how human beings have lived in respectful, sacred, equitable relationship with each other and the rest of Nature, and what arts, ethics, and practices enabled them to do so and pass such attitudes and behaviors on to the coming generations.   In these profoundly challenging times, characterized by separation, polarization, and the commodification of nearly everything, (and the consequent damage such a culture is wreaking on the life support systems of this world,) the capacity to stay together and work cooperatively as a people is crucial for effective healing and restorative action in all realms. The communal arts of group singing, ritual, and the collective crafting of beauty are primal “technologies” of connection and belonging, and have been the integral bedrock of all viable and regenerative cultures through the deep time of our presence here on Earth. When we take steps to reclaim that heritage, making use of nothing more than what we were born with, (our bodies, our hearts, our voices, our spirits) we can once again experience the bonding recognition that our true wealth is each other and that all flourishing is mutual.  Laurence has also been facilitating and offering community grief tending gatherings throughout North America for about 15 years.  His primary teachers and influences have been Sobonfu and Malidoma Somé, Angeles Arrien, Michael Meade, James Hillman, Francis Weller, Joanna Macy, and Martín Prechtel.  He is an advocate for this work not only for the ways it can bring release and healing for individuals, but also for the ways it can enable a renewed sense of respectful connection and belonging for groups of folks working together for restoration of mutually flourishing communityEpisode Highlights▶ Laurence's journey into grief work▶ The role of singing in grief rituals and why it is so powerful▶ The community and belonging we can find through grief work▶ The primal wound and modern disconnection▶ How we can find hope and healing in a disconnected worldLaurence Cole's Links & Resources▶ Website: http://www.laurencecole.com▶ Communal Grief Retreats with Laurence and Alexandra (ahlay) Blakely:  https://www.healingattheroots.com/communalgriefretreats▶ Grief Tending Mentoring Program: https://sacredgroves.com/intro-grief-tending  Download Beth's free business trainings here: Integrating Psychedelics & Sacred Medicines Into a Transformational Business:https://bethaweinstein.com/psychedelics-in-businessClarity to Clients: Start & Grow a Transformational Coaching, Healing, Spiritual, or Psychedelic Business https://bethaweinstein.com/grow-your-spiritual-business ▶ Beth's Programs & Courses: https://bethaweinstein.com/services▶ Beth on Instagram: http://instagram.com/bethaweinstein▶ Beth Weinstein on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bethw.nychttps://www.facebook.com/BethWeinsteinbiz▶ Join the free Psychedelics & Purpose Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PsychedelicsandSacredMedicines

What is important to you? In a world so divided, how can we work together? How can we find creative options? So many of us are so good at chronically complaining, but how can we look at workable solutions? Our guest today is Dr. Angeles Arrien, an anthropologist, award-winning author, educator, and corporate consultant who suggests we focus on what IS working. We can turn our thoughts into “possibility thinking” and creative solutions.  Our humanity is braided through our heart. Our countries and nations are different patches of the quilt of humanity. Our call is to be creative and problem-solve together.  Slowing down will help. When we move at a fast pace, we subject ourselves to burn-out. Nature has its own slower rhythm. We can accomplish so much more if we take time to be present and mindful. Various cultures around the world allow for more time with each other, whether it's spending time on a meal with family, or simply lingering over coffee with friends when possible.   We can also look toward indigenous wisdom. Dr Arrien discusses different cultures and various ways of using our imaginations as a tool for re-visioning. She explains that if you can see it, you can manifest it. Manifestation takes action and goals. Most people talk about the vision, rather than acting on it. She reminds us that people “who cannot vision will perish.”  The root of imagination is to “image.” If you are unsure, how can you reconnect to your vision? How can you begin to imagine? Start with tracking your dreams and discovering what has heart and meaning. We stop ourselves by saying, “when I have time,” or “when I have money.” We need to bring our dreams forward and not leave them on the backburner. What inspires you? What challenges you? How flexible are you with the unexpected? By asking these questions and listening to these answers, we receive an invitation to grow and move forward.   Dr. Angeles Arrien studies creation myths and how these cross-culturally occurring myths provide doorways to envision and re-dream aspects of our lives. She is the President and Founder of the Foundation for Cross-Cultural Education and Research, and a fellow at the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Her work with multi-cultural issues and conflict resolution has been used with the International Human Rights Commission and the World Indigenous Council. Info: AngelesArrien.com

How can you be a better public speaker? Author and speaking coach Gail Larsen shares her transformation process with the listener. Each of us brings a gift to the world that is original and is our form of art. Transformational defines when things shift; through our internal growth and throughout the planet. Gail's book reviews all the technical skills of Speaking, but approaches speaking holistically, starting with the heart of your Speaking. She believes that your original talents and skills are your Original Medicine and encourages her students to name their medicine and stand in the power of it. Her process distinguishes between the Comfort Zone of speaking and the Home Zone. The Comfort Zone encompasses the professional persona and credentials we traditionally associate with public speakers. The Home Zone defines your “Original Medicine” message and the story that only you can share. Gail says you find your audience if you are true to yourself. When we speak from our Home Zone, we are present in the moment with our true story. It's a place of vulnerability and truth. Gail believes that if what we share is not emotional, it will not touch the audience profoundly and transformatively. She shares a favorite quote by Martin Shaw, an acclaimed teacher of myth and storyteller. He claims, “You don't trap a story. You track it.”  Gail's methodology and concept were also influenced by Angeles Arrien and her book titled, “The Four-Fold Way: Walking the Paths of the Warrier, Teacher, Healer, and Visionary. Gail Larsen is the author of Transformational Speaking: If You Want to Change the World, Tell a Better Story, Gail has been in the world of speaking for decades, first as an SBA award-winning entrepreneur and soon after that as the first full-time executive of the National Speakers Association.  Her study informs her work of cross-cultural and perennial wisdom. Her focus is on uncovering our true gifts before applying strategy so that our work is original, sustainable, and genuine. She offers Transformational Speaking to a global audience through her Online Academy and live immersions in Santa Fe, NM. She served on the faculty of Omega Institute from 2008 until Covid! Several of her graduates have been named to Oprah's Super Soul 100 as awakened leaders who use their voices and talents to elevate humanity.  www.realspeaking.com

Be Open To Outcome (BOTO)BOTO is here to help us be open, rather than attached, to outcomes in our life. Openness and non-attachment let us recover the human resources of wisdom and objectivity. Some cultures believe that wisdom is flexible and fluid. The way to tap into this is to be open to outcome and access wisdom by learning how to trust and be comfortable with states of not knowing.Trust is the container out of which the qualities of wisdom grow clarity, objectivity, discernment, and detachment.Trust: A firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.Clarity: The quality of being clear and easy to understand.Objectivity: A person's judgment not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and         representing facts.Discernment: the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscure.Detachment: a feeling of not being emotionally involved. The opposite of trust is control. The trickster figure found in many cultures functions to present surprise and the unexpected as a way of waking up people out of their routines and shocking them into seeing their attachments.BE OPEN TO OUTCOME – What does that mean?Being open to outcome means that you don't always need to know for sure what is going to happen next – you are WISE enough and TRUSTING enough and FLEXIBLE enough to let what will happen, happen. It means if it is not the outcome you were hoping for, you can be RESILIENT enough to recover.Resilient: a person able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.I want to thank Angeles Arrien for the book “The Four-Fold Way: Walking the Paths of the Warrior, Teacher, Healer and Visionary.” This is where the concept of BOTO comes from. I also want to thank Beth and Ron Black and Cherokee Creek Boys School where I was introduced to BOTO.I am inviting you to check out my resources page. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5085955/ This is a narrative written by Dr. John Kelly from the Journal Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research. He discusses how gratitude can rewire the brain when it has good feelings flowing through it. He says, “The brain can literally be rewired to more easily transmit circuits associated with generation of good feelings. A willful and deliberate focus on all that is good in one's life will shift one's baseline temperament and increase feelings of well-being. But it requires a decision, and it requires practice.” He references Angeles Arrien's “Living in Gratitude” and what he refers to as “Grateful Seeing”, making note that this deliberate choice is ours every minute of every day. Dr. Kelly also references that our ego's often get in the way of our personal and professional lives. He notes that we rush and rush around searching for promotions and honors when we are missing our kids' sports games or anniversaries. Then he says, “Contrast this plight to a surgeon who is close to his or her loved ones and arrives at work happy, balanced, and well-rested. This surgeon also does research and writes because it brings the satisfaction of effecting positive change and using one's talents for a higher purpose.” The idea is that when our hearts and minds rest in a state of gratitude, everyone gets a better version of us to deal with. Your kids deserve a coach who is pouring from a full cup. Do things and live in such a way that will fill your cup so you can give your best to those who need you most.

As part of my own shamanic training and exploration I was introduced to the concept of the Four Shamanic Questions*. The idea was that when a person came to a shaman seeking help for dis-ease or in despair, the shaman would pose four questions to bring the person back into ease. The Fourth question is; WHEN did you stop being comforted by the sweet territory of SILENCE? Expanding upon the question, the seeker was invited to explore where they had mistrusted or ignored the mystery of their own being. Where had they stopped being an explorer of their own glorious life? This episode is an exploration of all four questions, but particularly focused on the “sweet territory of silence,” because I’ve heard so many people talking about silence this past week, I decided it was something worth diving into. In this episode you are invited to explore more deeply what silence means for you. What silence as territory means for you. Silence can be depleting, as we can sometimes use it as a means of escaping. Escape can be a needed respite, or escape can be a repetition of depleting patterns that bring us no illumination. Silence can also be a divine heart expanding territory where we can hear and answer a call from our true voice. At the end of the episode I lead you through a divination scribble exercise to open you up to a little creative fun in your heart exploration so have a paper and pencil handy for this one. With love, Christine (artthatmoves.ca) (*I was first introduced to these questions through the work of Angeles Arrien)

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is 60 Seconds, your daily dose of hope, imagination, wisdom, stories, practical tips, and general riffing on this and that.My friend, Gene, in Colorado is a shaman. He knows I’ve been feeling disheartened of late and so he asked me a question: When did you stop dancing?  He knew that years ago I was a ballroom dancer with Arthur Murray Studios, and have done precious little dancing of late. But more to the point Gene knew that when we stop dancing we lose a bit of our soul and the best way to get this back is - to dance - as if no one is looking - as if you have not a care in the world. Just dance!Practical Tip: As Angeles Arrien teaches, you can also heal yourself by singing, enjoying the sorcery of stories or being still in silence.Question: How might you choose to experience one of them today? This is the place to thrive together. Welcome to this week's solo jam on going where you're guided. Part of the way we walk in an aligned way is by heeding the advice, guidance, and feelings we get from our Higher Selves and the external guides in our lives. These can be people who understand our path and have a solid voice of mentorship for us. They can be spiritual beings, like angels, power animals, or beings from other realms. They can also be plants and earth spirits who wish to share a message with us. This divine, higher guidance is always available to us, and when we learn to open ourselves up to it, we are more easily able to hear exactly what is coming through and form where/whom. Because what we definitely do not want to do is give over the guidance or advice-giving to people who do not understand the path we are on. They cannot support us and validate us in the way we need and desire because they do not know how. Sometimes, these are the relationships that we will be guided to bless and release as we move through and towards a new space and phase of life. Anytime we move towards alignment, we are moving into some discomfort that change will inevitably bring. And that includes endings. I share about times when I experienced guidance, including times when I didn't even realize what I was hearing at the time. I begin the jam by answering the question: how do we know when it our Higher Self/Spirit/Guides speaking to us? I explain how this starts with sensations in the body and recognizing the meaning that each sensation carries when it comes to rightness for our life path. Once we learn to trust our bodies and our internal voices, like our intuition, we can begin to receive the validation and affirmation and the further guidance of beloved others. It is always available and accessible to us, and this episode is intended to offer you the strength in Knowing that you are being divinely and rightly guided on your path now and always. Just listen beyond just using your ears, and you will 'hear' what is being offered to you. In this weeks meditation, we work on calling on our guides to receive a message that is important for us to hear right now. I encourage you to do this several times throughout your week. So deeply joyful to have you, and hoping you feel sparked and guided by this episode and by my voice. Quantum physicists hold that time, as we experience it on this physical plane, is an illusion and that there is only an eternal now. Yet, from the perspective of our daily consciousness, we are living completely entranced in the perceptions of the past and the anticipation of our future. Many of us are so haunted by the past or driven by fears of the future, that we are unable to be present in the now. We suffer because we believe we are unable to change the past and are anxious about being on an uncertain and driven path to the future. By accessing quantum consciousness in hypnosis, we can be present and realize that Eckhart Tolle is accurate in saying that the power is in the now.   Present and past-life decisions, perceptions, and traumas that are affecting us in the now can be healed through regression hypnosis. In addition, present and future lessons, karmas, and difficulties may be resolved in the now through progression hypnosis. Angeles Arrien, Ph.D., cultural anthropologist, states that “choice collapses time.” By accessing the quantum field and your eternal, wise, and knowing higher Self, you can bend the perception of time as we experience it in our daily consciousness and bring peace and healing in the now.   This Meditation focuses on hypnotically guiding you to a potential future self so that you may have the teaching, experiences, and wisdom from this future experience now. By accessing the future “now,” you can choose to act with more clarity and wisdom now. It is by acting in the now that you can live in more peace, fulfillment, and wholeness.   This offers you two future-life progression processes that are open-ended enough for repeated use in order to explore any future-life connections to your current-life questions, concerns, and issues. Know that doing a progression is a skill. The more you use this and the more future selves you explore, the easier and more productive your sessions will become. Music by Mettaverse432 Hz Healing Music to Help You Focus, Relax and Fall Into Alignment With the Harmony of Creation.Subscribe to their channel herehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyvjffON2NoUvX5q_TgvVkw➤ Listen to them on Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2KjGlLI➤ Follow them on Instagram: http://bit.ly/2JW8BU2➤ Join them on Facebook: http://bit.ly/2G1j7G6➤ Support their Work at Patreon: http://bit.ly/2TXQhu3The 12 Lessons of Raja Yoga playlist - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYBGCWNeBek&list=PLKv1KCSKwOo_KUSj4CbHD351PWWLM6W0lAll my guided meditations in one place https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKv1KCSKwOo_BfNnb5vLcwouInskcEhqLFor coaching – https://www.advancedsuccessinstitute.comFor all episodes of the Reality Revolution – https://www.therealityrevolution.comLike us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/RealityRevolutionPodcast/Join our facebook group The Reality Revolution https://www.facebook.com/groups/403122083826082/Subscribe to my Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOgXHr5S3oF0qetPfqxJfSwContact us at media@advancedsuccessinsitute.com

Emileena Pedigo: The Show Goes On Productions produces concerts and events that embrace emerging trends in entertainment. In-house projects focus on early-stage development: building a brand and strategic mapping for artists. In addition to artist showcases, TSGO presents performances merging music and theatre in innovative and immersive environments. Other programming includes development courses for creative business leaders in the Arts that are aimed toward changing current models proven ineffective for artists. TSGO also offers consulting and performance coaching for raw talent, be it in the Arts or Business. *Gig mentality: *It's every artist's dream to create the work they love while also making a bunch of money. And while art has never been an optimal path for wealth creation, there has never been a better time to make money as an artist. Artist Sustainability: In this piece we explore why artists with lofty goals of making music their full time career are so often brought down by their ambitions, and how artists can better advance their position in the industry through setting a series of achievable goals and focusing on career sustainability. *Zen: *(Chinese: 禪; pinyin: Chán; Japanese: 禅, romanized: zen; Korean: 선, romanized: Seon; Vietnamese: Thiền) is a school of Mahayana Buddhism that originated in China during the Tang dynasty, there known as the Chan School (Chánzong 禪宗) and later developed into various schools. It was strongly influenced by Taoist philosophy, especially Neo-Daoist thought, and developed as a distinct school of Chinese Buddhism. From China, Chán spread south to Vietnam and became Vietnamese Thiền, northeast to Korea to become Seon Buddhism, and east to Japan, becoming Japanese Zen. *Taoism: *Daoism (/ˈdaʊɪzəm/, /ˈtaʊ-/), or Taoism (/ˈdaʊ-/), is a philosophical or religious tradition of Chinese origin which emphasises living in harmony with the Dao (Chinese: 道; pinyin: Dào; literally: 'the Way', also romanized as Tao). The Dao is a fundamental idea in most Chinese philosophical schools; in Daoism, however, it denotes the principle that is the source, pattern and substance of everything that exists. Daoism differs from Confucianism by not emphasising rigid rituals and social order, but is similar in the sense that it is a teaching about the various disciplines for achieving "perfection" by becoming one with the unplanned rhythms of the universe called "the way" or "dao". Daoist ethics vary depending on the particular school, but in general tend to emphasise wu wei (action without intention), "naturalness", simplicity, spontaneity, and the Three Treasures: 慈 "compassion", 儉 "frugality", and 不敢為天下先 "humility". *Gratitude journal: *Gratitude is like most desirable traits and qualities in that it is usually not enough to simply decide to be grateful—we must actively practice it to cement its place in our lives. *Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey: *Joseph Campbell, arguably the greatest mythologist of the twentieth century, was certainly one of our greatest storytellers. This masterfully crafted book interweaves conversations between Campbell and some of the people he inspired, including poet Robert Bly, anthropologist Angeles Arrien, filmmaker David Kennard, Doors drummer John Densmore, psychiatric pioneer Stanislov Grof, Nobel laureate Roger Guillemen, and others. Campbell reflects on subjects ranging from the origins and functions of myth, the role of the artist, and the need for ritual to the ordeals of love and romance. With poetry and humor, Campbell recounts his own quest and conveys the excitement of his lifelong exploration of our mythic traditions, what he called “the one great story of mankind.” *Opportunity Mindset: *Scarcity mindset is the state of believing that what you want is in limited supply. That you will never have enough of that thing. *Jon Arons - "Fashion" HD (Official): *A Black Mirror-ish music video about our phones becoming our brains! A Special Passage for Renee “Deep in the wintry parts of our minds we are hardly stock and know there is no such thing as work-free transformation. We know that we will have to burn to the ground in one way or another and then sit right in the ashes of who we once thought we were and go from there.” Originally from Women Who Run with the Wolves  by Clarissa Pinkola Estés and was copied by Angeles Arrien for The Second Half of Life.    The Servant Leader While the title denotes a religious affiliation, being a servant leader doesn’t mean you must give up a life of children and the joys of family. Leading people through the gift of service simply means you give back to your community through your gifts of time, talent and treasure. Women tend to be drawn to this environment naturally, because they inherently put others’ needs ahead of their own. In other words, you are probably already being a servant leader, and there is also a degree available in this discipline if you want to embrace your empathy.   Resentment As with most people, even givers have a tipping point. One day while working at a homeless shelter, Renee helped to prepare a meal that was better than the ones she was able to provide for her family. These experiences made her pause, but not give up her cause. She continued serving others even when the burdens of guilt rested upon her like a heavy blanket.   The Need to be Remembered Knowing she was born to be a worker bee, Renee embraces her gifts. This deep, philosophical understanding led her to her legacy writing project.  She started writing 40 things about herself and quickly realized this information was invaluable. Renee in turn named her journal “The Abundance Journal of Gratitude”. In this journal, she vows to capture the values and beliefs that define her and should be passed on to her children. The timeless author Stephen Covey noted there are 4 needs all people have. People need to: Live Love Learn Leave a legacy Renee Liming started Lessons for Tomorrow to help people fulfill all of those basic needs in 2013. Episode Description: “For human evolution to continue, the conversation must deepen.” – Margaret MeadThe 6th Annual AREDAY – American Renewable Energy Day – produced by long-time environmental activist and filmmaker Chip Comins -- is a uniquely innovative and interactive annual gathering of co-creative change in this time of Yes We Can, and Yes We Must. It will take place Aug. 20-22, 2009 in the beauty of summertime in the Rocky Mountains in Aspen, Colorado. This year’s focus is “The Problem IS the Solution: Wall Street Meets Green Street – Creating the New Energy Economy”, bringing together a truly amazing array of people. This gathering will present all of us in attendance with an extraordinary opportunity not just to share information on visionary perspectives and practical tools for change, but to directly experience and co-create one of most important global transformations of our times. Participants will include a number of the people I have dialogued with on this site, such as Lester Brown, Bracken Hendricks, Van Jones, Bob Gough of Intertribal COUP, and many more. See Living Dialogues Episodes 68 and 70.Details, list of other key participants you will appreciate, and registration information available at www.areday.net. At last year’s AREDAY, Ted Turner was asked what he told the Board after he resigned from Time Warner in the wake of the AOL fiasco. He replied: “I just told them to stop doing the dumb things, and start doing the smart things.”To get a sense of how profound this simple message is if our public and private powers would only apply this advice, why they don’t, and why it really is true that the ball is in our court as citizens to show the way, that only “if the people will lead, the leaders will follow”, consider the following statements from one of this year’s AREDAY keynote speakers, Amory Lovins (then a 29 year old physicist), made thirty-three years ago, in his seminal article in Foreign Affairs magazine entitled “Energy Strategy – The Road Not Taken?”:At a time before Al Gore was even in Congress, Lovins noted: “The commitment (of U.S. policy) to a long-term coal economy many times the scale of today’s makes the doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration early in the next century virtually unavoidable, with the prospect then or soon thereafter of substantial and perhaps irreversible changes in global climate.” He dubbed this “the hard path.”The alternative, which Lovins called “the soft path,” favored “benign” sources of renewable power like wind and the sun, along with a heightened commitment to meeting energy demands through conservation and efficiency. Such a heterodox blend of clean technologies, Lovins argued, would bring a host of salutary effects: a healthier environment, an end to our dependence on Middle East oil, a diminished likelihood of future wars over energy, and the foundation of a vibrant new economy.”[The preceding two paragraphs are from the summary by Joshua Green in his article “Better Luck This Time”, reviewing the history of U.S. policy persisting in “doing the dumb things” all this time, in the July-August issue of The Atlantic magazine.]In my view, the U.S. is weighted down with the collective albatross in this Second Gilded Age of greed by highly centralized corporate systems beyond the control of our public government, including the U.S. financial system, fossil fuel energy and utility system, and health care system, among others – disconnected from any meaningful innovation and the public good. We will be exploring these aspects – and how they relate to the evolutionary imperative of consciousness transformation -- in future dialogues, including the upcoming next dialogues with Jeffrey Hopkins, the translator the Dalai Lama’s new book “Becoming Enlightened” (No. 100), Gillian Tett of the Financial Times of London on “Fool’s Gold” the creation by ambitious, self-centered Wall Street “high fliers” of the global economic catastrophe (Nos. 101 and 102), and David Korten on an “Agenda for a New Economy” (Nos. 103 and 104), followed by Judith Orloff on “Emotional Freedom”, and more to come.In the meantime, we invite you and look forward to seeing you at AREDAY on Aug. 20-22, 2009 in the natural beauty of Aspen, Colorado. Episode Description: “For human evolution to continue, the conversation must deepen.” – Margaret Mead This is the seventh and last in a seven-part series of “Pilgrimage Dialogues” forming part of and leading up to a Conference Gathering in Fort Collins, Colorado on May 29-30, 2009, entitled “2012 NOW – Empowering the Transformation”, for which I am serving as the Master of Ceremonies and opening presenter. Past Living Dialogues in this series have included dialogues with myself and Robert Sitler, John Major Jenkins, Stanislav Grof, Richard Tarnas (parts 1 and 2), and with Sobonfu Some’. Details and registration information available at www.unveiling2012.org. Duncan Campbell: 2012 Now: Empowering The Transformation, a uniquely innovative, interactive and affordable gathering in this time of global uncertainty, will take place Friday night and all day Saturday May 29 and 30 at the Lincoln Center for Performing Arts in Fort Collins, Colorado. Beyond just information, to practical tools for change and direct experience of participating in the ongoing transformation of our times. Now is the time and the opportunity to synchronize consciousness with the evolutionary pulse of the cosmos. Join participants bringing stories from around the planet as we explore, co-create, and experience together the transformative dynamics necessary for a successful transit from now through the year 2012 and beyond. More information available on the Conference website, www.unveiling2012.org. See you there. The meaning of the Greek word “Apocalypse” is “lifting the veil” or “revelation”. These seven “pilgrimage dialogues” in advance of the Gathering – contemporary 21st century versions of the medieval Canterbury Tales – are examples of such revelatory “shared stories” on this Road of 2012 NOW.Here is a summary dialogue excerpt describing the Conference between myself and Sobonfu Some’, who will conduct the concluding ritual of celebration:Sobonfu Some’: Well I really believe that initiation is a necessity, you know, much like, you know, 2012 is saying “here is a big initiation”. It, initiation, is a necessity because we have to initiate in order to be able to move forward, to be able to tap into our essence, into our gift and so on. And, you know, in my African tradition the first initiation that we all go through is that of being born, because we are coming from being full of spirit to taking on this human tool that we call the body. And, you know, also, we’ll go through many, many initiations. And I think what we’re talking about in the Conference is that we’re going to get to the place where we are basically going to celebrate being able to give birth to our self and to whatever new vision is going to come out of this Conference Gathering -- so that we can together welcome each other and celebrate together. And I think that is the icing on the cake, you know, that is awaiting us.Duncan Campbell: I think absolutely that’s the case, and myself as Master of Ceremonies and yourself as the person who will be leading us in the concluding celebratory ritual are both involved in helping the entire gathering to activate, all of us together, a kind of transformational space -- including not only the presenters who will be articulating on the stage, but all of the participants with their deep listening who are evoking the insights that are articulated coming out of the group energy field. And this opportunity for expression will also be something we can all look forward to at the extended lunch time on Saturday, when there’s going to be a large and deliberate space for people in very small groups to share stories, deep stories, with each other and evoke and integrate their experience. This is very essential to a true initiation -- that is not just a one way transmission of information, but is actually a transformative initiation -- where together we can evoke an experience that is both intimate and personal in our sense of shift, as well as a kind of collective amplification that allows all of us to celebrate, as Barack Obama suggested in his Inaugural Address, “our common humanity”. And that experience has a great carry over effect into our everyday lives and relationships.Sobonfu Some’: Now how amazing is that, because, you know, a lot of people go into conferences and never really get to put in their voice; and, you know, in my Dagara people’s African tradition, when you go anywhere we are always trying to get our voice in, you know, to express yourself with and to others, because it’s like we are all making this huge cauldron and the stories that we bring, everything we share of our self, is part of what is going to make whatever we’re cooking really delicious. And for people to be able to have this opportunity as a gift, not only to themselves but a gift to the community, I really believe is amazing.Duncan Campbell: That’s beautifully put. I love the image that you give here of together we’re collectively creating a crucible or a great cauldron, not only a crucible for the water of life, but a great cauldron in which to cook and use the fire of life to transform our experience, because these are transformative elements, all of the elements are: Earth is nurturing, Wind is empowering, a Fire literally is transforming, and Water is liquid and fluid and moves between the solid state of ice to the evaporated state of the clouds. And so every one of the elements will be involved here. We will be having time outdoors; we will be celebrating the natural world in a beautiful natural environment in Fort Collins, Colorado. And I think that these “pilgrimage dialogues” are pointing to that transformation as they are evolving here. In my first dialogue, with Robert Sitler, he emphasized the joy and the wisdom that is accessible in everyday life that he himself has experienced in the Mayan culture and which he shares so beautifully. Next has been John Major Jenkins, whose great research into the galactic alignment and embedding it and situating it in connection to the primordial tradition, sometimes called the perennial philosophy, has shown how we can bring all of this that 2012 is pointing to into the Now; that this “2012 phenomenon” is not an event that we’re waiting for, that we’re going to have to be acted upon at some time in the future, but it is an atmosphere of opportunity that is present right here, right now…And that energy field is present right now in helping germinate and evoke from you and I what we’re saying and inviting people to; so that in a sense you and I are acting here as inviters and embodiments of the kind of dialogue and transformation that we can anticipate will be happening among us all and amplified at that particular moment on May 29 and May 30 of the Gathering. But that’s only a moment in a continuum of many moments before and after, that we’re all already uncovering and witnessing being unveiled in people all over the world.Sobonfu Some’: Yes, and, you know, as you speak and you share that it makes me think about today being this energy that renews itself time and again, which gets stronger every time, as the energy is being shared every time. So as people today listen to this dialogue, and share it with other people, it is renewed and it gets stronger and so on. That’s the image that came to me.Duncan Campbell: Well, I have to say, Sobonfu, it’s been just a wonderful opportunity here for myself and our other deep listeners, and yourself for that matter, for us to have this chance and opportunity to engage in this dialogue together, and I have always so appreciated the great joy and cheerfulness that you embody and bring to any time that I’ve ever had the pleasure and privilege to encounter you. And so I’m very much looking forward to this conference, even as I’m deeply appreciating the present moment here, because the gift I think of this very dialogue is not only to inspire that more such moments can happen between us, but in one’s own life everyday, today for instance, and the moments that follow.Sobonfu Some’: Yes, and I’m very grateful for you, for the gift of yourself to the world really and for having such a strong and powerful vision that you can not only share with the world, but that you can get other people be a part of the dance of that vision as well. And I think that is, that is a gift that not everybody has, and I thank you for holding that for all of us.Duncan Campbell: Well thank you very much Sobonfu, and I want to thank our co-producers Larraine Tennison and John Major Jenkins and everyone involved with this project, all the presenters that are part of this pilgrimage series that is now leading us, as it were, like milestones toward the Conference Gathering on May 29 and 30. If people are wanting further information, they can go to www.unveiling2012.org. And we really extend an extraordinarily warm and intimate invitation for your continued participation. If you cannot physically put yourself in that Fort Collins environment, you’re very much invited to participate through your deep listening to not only these dialogues, but to the continuation of Living Dialogues after that, and also to honor the fact that really it is true -- and we’re experiencing it with great gratitude for our listenership and their Website Contact emails from around the world -- that as the world becomes smaller, “yes, we can” and do experience in greater depth and greater joy our own common humanity. We invite you and look forward to seeing you at the conference on May 29 and 30, 2009 in the natural beauty of Fort Collins, Colorado, entitled “2012 NOW - Empowering the Transformation”. Episode Description:“For human evolution to continue, the conversation must deepen.” – Margaret Mead This is the sixth in a seven-part series of “Pilgrimage Dialogues” forming part of and leading up to a Conference Gathering in Fort Collins, Colorado on May 29-30, 2009, entitled “2012 NOW – Empowering the Transformation”, for which I am serving as the Master of Ceremonies and opening presenter. Past Living Dialogues in this series have included dialogues with myself and Robert Sitler, John Major Jenkins, Stanislav Grof, Richard Tarnas, and with Sobonfu Some’. The final Living Dialogue in the series will be with Christine Page. Join participants bringing stories from around the planet as we explore, co-create, and experience together the tranformative dynamics necessary for a successful transit from now through the year 2012 and beyond. I love the image that you give here of together we’re collectively creating a crucible or a great cauldron, not only a crucible for the water of life, but a great cauldron in which to cook and use the fire of life to transform our experience, because these are transformative elements, all of the elements are: Eaarth is nurturing, Wind is empowering, a Fire literally is transforming, and Water is liquid and fluid and moves between the solid state of ice to the evaporated state of the clouds.
