Millennials think they need a million dollars a year just to feel rich. And honestly? They're not wrong. With inflation crushing everything and home prices through the roof, a million a year is becoming the new baseline for financial freedom. I didn't start as a multi-millionaire twelve years ago. Had to learn this stuff the hard way. But here's what I discovered by studying other self-made millionaires and now looking at billionaires to see what's next. These aren't some theoretical bullshit tips. These are the actual hacks I use every single day. The stuff that separates people who dream about wealth from people who actually build it.Connect:Connect with Rick: https://linktr.ee/mrrickjordanSubscribe & Review to ALL IN with Rick Jordan on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/RickJordanALLIN

On this episode of Destination on the Left, I talk with Mitch Bach, partner at Tourpreneur and CEO of TripSchool, about the shift from information-driven tours to experience-driven journeys, where emotional connection, creative storytelling, and human interaction are now the most valuable takeaways for travelers. Mitch introduces listeners to the concept of the “emotion economy” and offers inspiring examples, from immersive historical reenactments to sensory food experiences, that help tour operators leave a lasting impact on their guests. What You Will Learn in This Episode: Why technology and shifting traveler expectations are transforming guided tours, and how COVID accelerated demand for more meaningful human connections in travel How storytelling and emotion-based experience design can create unforgettable “wow” moments that keep guests talking How tour operators can tap into the “emotion economy” by reverse engineering experiences to focus on how guests feel, not just what they learn or see Why shifting from an information-driven to a connection-driven approach is critical, and Mitch gives practical examples for infusing creativity and engagement at every stop Why focusing on authentic connections and unique value is the best defense against disruption From Information to Emotion Historically, tour guides and operators differentiated themselves through access and expertise, knowing every detail about a monument or organizing seamless itineraries. As travel information and bookings become increasingly accessible via technology, these elements alone no longer set experiences apart. Today's travelers are more informed than ever, but also more discerning. Mitch describes why travelers want guides to offer more than just facts they could easily find online. They want experiences that create a “sense of wow,” moments that resonate emotionally and stay with them long after the trip ends. As Maya Angelou says, “People remember not what you said or did, but how you made them feel,” which is why Mitch loves the concept of the “emotion economy.” The role of the guide isn't just to inform, but to design and deliver experiences that spark genuine emotion and create meaningful human connections. Storytelling and Sensory Engagement Creative storytelling and thoughtful experience design are how tour operators can tap into this emotion economy. Mitch shares how to do this, using his own multi-day Southern U.S. tours as examples, how moments of mystery, anticipation, and character introduction heighten the overall impact. For instance, by weaving in the story of a local chef and building anticipation around a meal, not just revealing the restaurant upfront, he transformed an ordinary lunch stop into a memorable, multi-sensory adventure. Guests were participating in a larger narrative, engaging all their senses, and building emotional anticipation along the way. Similarly, in places with restrictions or well-worn routes (such as Athens' Acropolis), creativity in delivery, using music, audience participation, or reframing crowd bottlenecks as immersive reenactments, turns limitations into opportunities for connection. The Role of Technology and the Changing Traveler We also discuss the impact of technology: it streamlines logistics, democratizes access, and commoditizes many traditional tour products. With powerful booking platforms and AI soon able to assemble custom itineraries, what remains irreplaceable is the human touch and the ability to foster real connection and insight. Tour operators who embrace their relationships and build local knowledge can offer value that technology alone just can't replicate. Millennials and Gen Z travelers, shaped by the pandemic's isolation, increasingly seek travel for community and transformation. Innovative companies are marketing feelings and social connection, not just destinations. This week's message centers around a vital question for the church family: Are we intentionally leaving a legacy that honors God and makes a lasting spiritual imprint on the next generation? Pastor Vicki opens with Deuteronomy 6:4-9, reminding us that forming a spiritual legacy is a sacred calling: loving God with all our heart, soul, and strength—and passing that love down to our children in our daily rhythms. She also highlights Deuteronomy 4:9, which challenges us to be mindful not to forget what we've seen God do—and to intentionally teach it to our children and grandchildren. The core of today's message is a panel conversation with two couples from our church community, each raising young children. Together, they reflect on parenting challenges, share how New Hope has helped them stay grounded in faith, and offer guidance on how the church can better support families. Discussion Questions From the sermon handout: According to the panel, what are some of the challenges that parents today are facing? How can the church come alongside to support them? What are some specific ways that New Hope can help young families... grow deep roots in Christ as a family develop strong marriages grow individually as disciples of Jesus While we are seeing a resurgence in Generation Z (born 1997–2012) coming to Jesus, the generation before them (Millennials, born 1981–1996) have left the church in droves. What can the older generations do to welcome Millennials back into the fold? According to the panel, what does their generation need most from the church?

A lot of what has been dug up from the 90s, mostly by Gen Z, has kind of been a rude look into the mirror for Millennials, but acclaimed, veteran screenwriter Victoria Male has cooked up a comedy feature, Whatever Happened to Baby J?, that is taking a much more favorable look into the 90s, so much so that the one and only Jodie Sweetin (as well as Drew Seeley and stacked cast) is going to be part of a staged reading of Whatever Happened to Baby J? at Dynasty Typewriter on June 9th (tix available here). This week's TCB Field Report follows Victoria's journey all the way to doing this big time staged reading that will be support of the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children. Yerachmiel shares his incredible journey from therapist to clinic leader and offers deep insights into building and expanding faith-based mental health clinics. We talk about how his organization serves a primarily Orthodox Jewish community while also supporting diverse underserved populations across New York. We dive into the nuances of recruiting clinicians who are not only clinically skilled but culturally and generationally attuned to their clients' needs. Yerachmiel also breaks down the importance of flexible work environments, understanding therapist work styles, and the unique challenges of creating serene, spa-like spaces even within nonprofit settings. In this episode, Yerachmiel covers: How to build faith-based clinics that meet both cultural expectations and clinical standards. Strategies for recruiting therapists that match client needs—mirroring, complementary, or culturally resonant opposites. The necessity of flexible work models to accommodate faith-based lifestyle norms. Addressing generational differences in therapist work styles and expectations (Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z). Why recruiting a “blank canvas” can be more effective than chasing credentials alone. How to assess interviewees beyond the interview polish to find true potential. Building long-term clinician loyalty by investing emotionally and structurally in staff. The logistics of serving in-school mental health programs and maintaining outreach across diverse NYC communities. Dr. Hillary Cauthen, Millennial, is a clinical sport psychologist based in Austin TX. Hillary was a division 1 college track athlete, before embarking on a career focusing on the mental health and mental performance dimensions of high performers. Dr. Cauthen is the Founder of Texas Optimal Performance & Psychological Services. Her private practice has steadily grown over the past decade and now includes a dedicated team of six providers delivering comprehensive care to athletes, parents, coaches, and sports organizations throughout the greater Austin, TX area. Dr. Cauthen formerly served as the Director of Organizational Wellness & Performance for Austin FC and the performance psychologist for the San Antonio Spurs, where she developed their mental performance and wellness programs. Her work with high performance is breaking down stigma across communities which is highlighted in her book, "Hello Trauma, Our Invisible Teammate” and continued in her weekly podcast titled Highs & Lows of X's & O'sHere are the topics we covered:0:00 Introduction2:27 Trauma Statistics3:50 Trauma Defined4:55 Empathy vs Sympathy7:21 The Three Trauma Reactions10:51 Shame12:57 Embarrassment15:50 Anger and Recovery18:21 Gaslighting and Fear20:44 Changing the Viewpoint22:27 Resolving Trauma25:00 Healing28:08 20 Something SelfMemorable Quotes“70% of Americans have reported experiencing trauma.”“Trauma is any physiological response that exists to you“Sympathy is saying “I'm sorry” (unintentional pity); Empathy is an emotional connection.”“Fear is a silencer of people's voices.”“Anyone living in the timeframe of 2020-2022ish experienced trauma: COVID. The level of experience and how it impacted us is different.”“Healing is like learning to walk again,..healing is living…it's taking tender, honest, active care of our wounds. Healing is forgiving and accepting ourselves without judgment, shame or anger. Healing is getting our voices back so we can speak and listen. But it's also caring for ourselves out loud publicly and for all to see and hear.” (Excerpt for Hillary's book)Here are the 3 Takeaways:When we experience trauma there are 3 places we can go to and be: the minimizer (dismiss the impact), the enabler (“It must be my fault”), and the moral authority (something really bad did happen). We will go back and forth between these during our healing phase. Until the moral authority kicks in the we really can't recover. Shame is not guilt and is an assessment of our character traits. It can create relentless negative self talk and striving for perfectionism. We don't want to fail because it creates more shame. Before shame, embarrassment, which is a socially prescribed morals and norms, can often come. It's the fear of the judgement of others that can lead to the feeling of embarrassment. Anger goes to action. It is the most powerful emotion to move differently. What we're not doing yet is having the emotional vocabulary for trauma and sitting with people's emotions. We can all experience trauma and have it impact us but it's what we do through the next phases, and the meaning we make of it, is how we get back to living healthy. Healing will eventually happen. In this second half of last week's discussion, Kelly and Lauren open up about the messy, real side of living a minimalist lifestyle. You will continue to be reminded that living a Minimalist lifestyle is about surrounding yourself with what you need and love and letting go of the rest. And since excess will always come and go, this lifestyle requires regular check-ins and mistakes are part of the process. Kelly and Lauren answer the following questions: What area(s) of your life still feels cluttered? Or, what area of your life feels challenging to maintain at times? What's something you keep more quantities of that you admittedly don't need or love and need to work on letting go of? Can you share a story of how you overpacked on a trip or failed your minimalist ways while travelling? What's one area of clutter are you still working on such as physical clutter, a habit, mindset etc.?
