(Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Three Pakistani Christian girls held ransom by Muslim employer Three girls illegally detained by their employers were forced to testify that they had converted to Islam and wished to return to their captors, but thankfully a judge in Pakistan returned them to their Christian parents, reports Morning Star News. On August 15th, Justice Shakil Ahmed of the Lahore High allowed the sisters, ages 9, 13, and 16, to retract their forced claims and gave custody of them back to their parents, Naveed and Mina Masih, both of whom are brick kiln workers. The couple had sent their daughters to a Muslim woman, Haleema Bibi, in September 2023 for placement as domestic workers, but soon Bibi told them that their employers were demanding $1,077 as a “security deposit” to return their oldest daughter. The oldest daughter, Hina, said that her Muslim employer, Madiha Sameer, had told her that converting to Islam was the only way to save herself from her family. She said, “He would send me to Dubai as a sex worker or could even sell my body organs for money.” According to Open Doors, Pakistan is the seventh most difficult country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Praise God for this family's reunification. 2,000 march for Jesus in Prague On Saturday, August 3, Salvation Crew, in collaboration with the Norwegian missionary movement Jesus Revolution and Reach the World, organized the second Jesus March in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The event was a follow-up to a similar gathering in November 2023, which was then attended by 1,000 people. This year, participation doubled to 2,000 people, reports Evangelical Focus. From the stage, Christian song and dance was interspersed with young people who offered colorful testimonies about how they repented of their sins and trusted Jesus Christ for His forgiveness. Hillary Clinton claimed Kamala protected children, but is pro-abortion This past Monday night, at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, Hillary Clinton, who lost the presidential election to Donald Trump in 2016, claimed that Kamala Harris was a champion of the children. CLINTON: “Kamala has the character, experience and vision to lead us forward. I know her heart and her integrity. “We both got our start as young lawyers helping children who were abused and neglected. Those kids stay with you. Kamala carries with her the hopes of every child she protected, every family she helped, every community she served.” After claiming that Kamala Harris protected children, Hillary, like most Democrats, then ironically justified Kamala's advocacy of killing children in the womb. Trump unveils tough new penalties for illegal criminals on Arizona border While the Democrats were gathered in Chicago, Donald Trump went to Sierra Vista, Arizona, along our southern border, to draw a visual contrast between his approach to securing the border and that of his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, reports The Associated Press. Paul Perez, the president of the Border Patrol union, said, “To my right is what we call the Trump wall. This was the wall that was built under President Trump. To my left, we have what we call the Kamala wall. It's just sitting there doing nothing, lying down.” Joining Trump on his Thursday border visit were the mothers of children who were killed by illegal immigrants allowed entrance across the border by the Biden-Harris administration during Kamala Harris' reign as the Border Czar. Former President Trump unveiled some tough new policies. TRUMP: “We will impose tough new sentences on illegal alien criminals. These include 10-year mandatory minimum sentences for anyone guilty of human smuggling, a guaranteed life sentence for anyone guilty of child trafficking, and a death penalty for anyone guilty of child or woman sex trafficking. “We will liberate our country from the illegal alien drug dealers, robbers, murderers, gang members, and child predators. We will make America safe again for our citizens.” Young father wins custody of son after ex-wife raised him ‘nonbinary' A dad recently won full custody of his 4-year-old son after a legal battle with his ex-wife who wanted to raise their boy as “nonbinary,” reports LifeSiteNews.com. Harrison Tinsley now has full custody of his son Sawyer after a “4 1/2-year” battle that has been going on since the boy was born. The boy's mother used “they/them” pronouns for Sawyer as well as dressing him like a girl, as previously reported by The Daily Signal. The father said, “Definitely my faith, Christianity,” but also “family, friends” and a “deep feeling in my soul that I have to do this no matter what pain I go through.” That pain included court battles, a visit from Child Protective Services, raising money for legal fees, and dealing with an ex with mental health problems and substance abuse issues. 18-year-old guides 16 hikers on wildfire evacuation route And finally, out from the ash and flames of the wildfires that scorched Canada's Jasper National Park comes the story of a heroic 18-year-old who saved over 16 people, reports GoodNewsNetwork.org. Working as a volunteer firefighter and kitchen aide at a lodge, Colleen Knull received an evacuation order on a Monday in late July. Stepping outside she saw smoke rising up the mountainsides, and knew that there were people still camping in the area. KNULL: “I like to be able to help people. I like the fact that what I do in my work does good.” Alerting everyone at the lodge, she went out to gather the campers until 16 people were ready to evacuate. Darkness was falling, and getting out of the area meant a 4-hour hike across treacherous terrain. KNULL: “The smoke was coming up from the mountainside. It was big.” Rebecca Tocher, one of those rescued, described the environment. TOCHER:  “My eyes were burning. There was ash falling constantly.” Another hiker added this. HIKER: “The sky was bright red. It wasn't black. It was red when you looked up.” Knull used her knowledge of the area and tracking skills to help navigate the 16 people down the trail. Tocher added, “She was an amazing leader and was just making sure that everyone was working together.” Incredibly, all 16 hikers made it out ahead of the fires and successfully evacuated in the back of Knull's pickup truck. KNULL: “I do it because, at the end of the day, I know I'd want to go home, and I'd want to have somebody there to help.” John 15:13 says, “ Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”  Or, in this case, for strangers. Sophia ist 26 Jahre alt, Unternehmerin, Mama einer 9-monatigen Tochter und steht kurz davor, auszuwandern. Sophia hatte in den letzten Jahren einen steinigen Weg zurückzulegen, aber sie hat es geschafft, sich durchzubeißen und ist jetzt stärker und glücklicher denn je. The reputation that fairytales have received over the past years precedes itself, which is precisely what made Michelle fall in love with it. She loved the rich imaginary of it all and as she started to also tell more and more of these fairytales, she found her voice changing and herself moving into this interior landscape that was rich in imagery and in human experience. So many of these stories start with wounds, descents, and struggles, like reflective mirrors where she could see her experience in these stories. As she delved deeper into fairytale, the morse she realized that all around the world, people have told these kinds of stories and that there are similar patterns across countries and continents. These stories are all coming out of a human experience; we are all part of one human experience and these stories precisely reflect our shared human experiences. Michelle Tocher has been writing and telling warm, poignant, and humane stories often from a woman's perspective. She is the author of the celebrated book “How to Ride a Dragon: Women With Breast Cancer Tell Their Stories”. She has recently published the lauded “The Tower Princess” as well as her new play “The Departure Train”. She has had a long career in communications and storytelling as President of Creative Premise LTD., a 10-year Toronto-based health communications company. Jessica Mor-Camenzind ist in Zürich aufgewachen als Tocher einer libanesischen Mutter und eines Schweizer Vaters. Die Mutter zweier Söhne studierte an der Hotelfachschule in Luzern Marketing. Heute führt sie verschiedene Unternehmen u.a. das Mezze à gogo, welches libanesische Kochkurse anbietet. Sie lancierte den libanesischen Newsletter wohnungsnews.ch und ist Autorin diverser Magazine. Als Mitbegründerin der gemeinnützigen SWISS4Lebanon reist sie mehrmals im Jahr in den Libanon und ist im ständigen Kontakt mit den NGO-Partnern vor Ort. In dieser Folge erfahren wir was Jessica Mor-Camenzind antreibt, woher sie die Energie, den Willen und die Kreativität nimmt immer wieder neue Herausforderungen zu meistern. Sie spricht offen über Themen und Erlebnisse die ihr nahe gehen und verrät uns ihr Erfolgserlebnis. SWISS4LEBANON (ehemals Swiss4Syria) wurde 2013 in Zürich gegründet, mit dem Ziel, syrische Flüchtlinge im Libanon zu unterstützen. Jessica Mor-Camenzind ist eine der Gründerinnen. Zwei Jahre nach Ausbruch des Bürgerkrieges in Syrien wollten sie und ihre beiden Partner:innen nicht mehr tatenlos zuschauen und riefen auf Facebook zu einer Kleiderspende auf, um Flüchtlinge zu unterstützen. Der spontane Aufruf führte zu 40 Tonnen Spenden-Kleidern, die im südlichen Libanon in verschiedenen Flüchtlingscamps verteilt wurden. Die auffallend vielen Werbeplakate und E-Mails mit Prozenten zum Muttertag haben mich dazu inspiriert eine Podcastfolge zu diesem Thema zu machen. Ist der Tag nur mehr ein Werbefaktor? Was verbinden wir mit diesem Tag? Was bedeutet dieser Tag für Frauen, für Mütter, für Kinder, für Männer und für die Gesellschaft? Ich habe für diese Podcastfolge Stimmen eingeholt, von verschiedenen Menschen an unterschiedlichen Orten. Die Hintergrundgeräusche sind leider manchmal etwas laut zu hören, aber mir war wichtig alle diese Stimmen zu veröffentlichen. Auch einige meiner bisherigen Interviewpartnerinnen haben ein Statement zu dieser Folge gegeben. Bea Frasl spricht über den feministischen Aspekt zum Muttertag, Katharina Reich über die Selbsthilfegruppe „MüGeAnTo“ (Müttergewalt an der Tocher) und von Romana Greiner, Frauensprecherin der SJ (Sozialistischen Jugend Österreich) hören wir ein politisches Statement. Das Besondere an dieser Folge ist, dass ich diesmal auch Männer befragt habe.

Movie magic is finally back! Everything Everywhere All at Once ist ein Feuerwerk an Bildern, Story, Weirdness und Filmreferenzen. Wer es mag im Kino so richtig durchgeschüttelt zu werden ist mit dieser Perle an der genau richtigen Adresse. Das Thema Multiversum ist wieder brandaktuell und dient auch hier als Grundlage der Storyline. Wie wir alle wissen splittet sich das Universum mit jeder getroffenen oder nicht getroffenen Entscheidung in weitere Stränge auf. Auch das ist hier der Fall. Unsere Protagonistin Evelyn lebt mit ihrem Mann und ihrer Tocher über ihrem Waschsalon in Amerika und fühlt sich mehr oder weniger unglücklich in ihrem Alltagstrott, der immer wieder viele Hürden für sie bereithält. In ihrer Frustration droht der Familie plötzlich nahezu der Untergang ihres Unternehmens da ihre Steuerberaterin etwas zu genau hinsieht. Als wäre das nicht eh schon viel zu viel, erfährt Evelyn, dass das Multiversum existiert und sie mit Hilfe einer Technologie die Fähigkeiten von Evelyns aus anderen Universen ihr zugänglich machen. Dan Tocher, Vice President Stakeholder Relations for Greengate Power, has worked on some of the largest renewable energy projects in Canada. He walks Chad Hughes through his career and the skills that have assisted him in becoming a leader in his field, and how he deployed these skills in acquiring the access required for the Travers Solar Project.Dan Tocher grew up in Guelph, Ontario and it wasn't until he moved to Alberta in 2005 when someone offhandedly said to him “you should be a land man” that he looked into what that meant and started his current career. Now, working with Greengate Power, he has successfully negotiated land agreements for some of the largest renewable energy projects in Canada, including the Blackspring Ridge Wind Project and the Travers Solar Project. Kommen ein Minbari und ein Centauri in eine Stripbar... Londo erhält nämlich den Auftrag, etwas mehr mit anderen Rassen auf der Station anzubandeln und da sucht er sich den erstbesten aus, der nicht schnell genug weglaufen konnte: Lennier. Wir erleben die beiden also, wie sie sich durch die Station schlagen und das ist tatsächlich wörtlich zu sehen. Dabei begann der Abend doch ganz harmlos in der Stripbar, in der Lennier den guten Londo mit seiner Lebensgeschichte zu Tode langweilt: Wir erfahren, er hat ein ähnlich spannendes Leben im Kloster wie Herr Lano auf Puerto Patida. Unser Minbari-Klosterschüler hat sich allerdings weniger mit geistigen Getränken, als mit geistreichen Rechnereien beschäftigt. Und treibt kurz darauf als wahnsinnger Wahrscheinlichkeits Wahrsager seine Mitspieler am Pokertisch in den Wahnsinn - und in den Bankrott Deutlich weniger lustig und noch nicht mal schlüpfrig geht es in den anderen beiden NebenHandlungen zu, von denen wir trotz der titelgebenden Heilerin keine ernsthaft als Haupthandlung bezeichnen würden. Zumal sie am Ende ohnehin irgendwie zusammenmäändern. JMS hat tiiiiiiieeeef in die Klischeekiste gegriffen und wir präsentieren: HERRN MÜLLER! Der hat es irgendwie geschafft, einen Sicherheitsmann umzubringen, obwohl Garibaldi diesen doch persönlich ausgebildet hatte... Deshalb will unser Sicherheitschef den bösen Deutschen am liebsten in die Luftschleuse stecken, wo er gesiebtes Vakuum atmen kann. Schließlich ist ja kein Platz im Knast. Und erst recht nicht für Verbrecher, so! Schließlich kommt man überein, dem fiesen Möpp einmal mit dem Mopp feucht durch den Kopf zu feudeln, sein Hirn einmal neu zu formatieren und das Betriebssystem "Angepasster Trottel 2.0" frisch aufzusetzen. Dazu muss die gute Talia aber erstmal dramaturgisch wirksam feststellen, wie fies der Typ wirklich ist. Für die Zuschauer, die das vor lauter Augendrehen bisher verpasst haben Zum Glück kommt der Bösewicht nicht weit und landet in der C-Handlung der Folge um eine illegale Praxis und eine mysteriöse Alienmaschine, die eine vetrocknete alte Schachtel irgendwo ausgegraben hat und jetzt dazu nutzt, um Andere zu heilen. Dabei hat die Maschine doch früher eigentlich dazu gedient, Leute hinzurichten, indem man ihnen die Lebensenergie entzieht...hm...ob sich das irgendwie mit der 2. Handlung verbinden läßt? Und so kann sich JMS ziemlich billig aus der Affäre ziehen, was die moralische Bewertung von Strafe und Sühne befrifft. Und auch die Krankheit der angesprochenen alten Schachtel betrifft. Ausserdem kann Franklin auch gleich noch die nicht ganz so vertrocknete Tocher der Schachtel zum Essen einladen. Und was macht Susan? Wir sind weniger als unterwältigt, was zwei der 3 Handlungstränge betrifft und würden - wie Londo in dieser Folge übrigens auch - maximal einen Penis aus unseren Klamotten ziehen, wenn da nicht dieser tolle Handlungsstrang um unser verrücktes Paar gewesen wäre. Londo und Lennier reissen die Wertung damit nach oben, so dass wir am Ende 2,5 von 6 Penissen vergeben können.

Das Neujahr im Ersten wird eröffnet mit einer Doppeldosis Keinohrcop: Nick Tschiller. Morde werden bei ihm nicht ermittelt. Sie werden gesühnt. Tschiller vs. Astan geht in die nächste Runde. Im ersten Teil wird Nicks Familiy entführt. Helene Fischer im bad girl Lara Croft-Look hat Frau und Tocher in ihre Gewalt gebracht, um die Freilassung von Firat Astan zu erpressen. Das klingt erst mal nicht dumm. Im zweiten Teil läuft dann gleich eine komplette Söldner-Brigade auf und nimmt kurzerhand das komplette Tageschau-Team zur prime time live vor der Kamera in Geiselhaft. Steilvorlage! Während der eine oder die andere sich wieder auf ein 90minütiges non-stop Action-Feuerwerk eingestellt hat, gab es diesmal auch ein paar Aufatmer zu bewundern. Zum Beispiel Astan und Tschiller beim Soja-Latte an der Tanke. Oder die geilen Sprüche vom Tschiller-Sidekick Yalcin Gümer. Auch der adretten Assistentin Ines Kallwey wurde diesmal etwas mehr screen time zugestanden. Alles in allem gibt es eine Menge zu besprechen. Denn eines ist auf jeden Fall klar: Das waren die bisher besten TATORT-Folgen für 2016. Na dann, ein Frohes Neues noch mal aus der Podcast-Runde!
