The Knicks play the Pistons in round one, game one in Detroit on Saturday. Gio predicts a physical series with the Knicks winning in six, while Boomer sees it going seven games, noting the Pistons won three of four against the Knicks this season. A caller urged Gio to attend the Masters, but Boomer prefers watching on TV. Jerry's update featured Jim Nantz's Masters stories and Mike Tirico's call of Rory's win, including Rory's emotional words about his parents. Jerry disputed the idea that anyone can achieve anything. The hour ended with discussion of the Mets' series against the A's in Sacramento (before their Vegas move) and Gio's observation about Anthony Gallo's pronunciation of "depth" during his overnight hosting.

Owning a business provides the freedom and flexibility to spend more time with family. Transitioning from fixed-price contracts to cost-plus contracts can build trust and provide transparency with clients. Setting goals for net profit and accurately estimating project costs are essential in a cost-plus approach. Itemizing direct costs, such as insurance and software, can help reduce the markup in cost-plus contracts. The cost-plus pricing model allows for open and frequent communication with clients without the fear of racking up hourly bills. Delivering value to clients is crucial when using the cost-plus pricing model. Knowing your numbers and having a robust accounting and project management system is essential for success. Self-performed labor rates can contribute to higher margins in cost-plus projects. Using contingencies can help manage unexpected costs and build trust with clients. Cloud-based software and coaching can be valuable tools for remodeling contractors. Those giant goals are so fun, creative, shiny, and powerful. Wouldn't it be great if... Once we achieve this, we will be able to... The great big goals capture people's imagination. It's fun to think about all the ways to achieve a fantastical goal. Then once we start doing it, we put pencil to paper to figure out exactly HOW to get there. It's more than "Go. Do." We get to think about different paths, points along the way so we know we're on track, and intermediate successes that will open us up to the next series of successes. Some things to consider as you get to moving on your audacious goal... 1. Embrace Big Dreams, Celebrate Little Goals: Big dreams can be inspiring, but when they don't materialize, they can become burdensome. Shifting the focus to celebrating and consistently achieving little goals can bring long-term success. 2. Consistency & Flexibility are Key: Consistent small steps can pave the way to success. Embracing a flexible mindset and being open to adjusting your approach is crucial in the pursuit of your goals. 3. The Value of Coaching: Working with a coach goes beyond receiving instructions; it's about being guided to overcome obstacles and be your best self. Coaches help you celebrate progress, mitigate self-doubt, and stay focused on the journey. Whether your awesome goal is to increase your team's productivity by 25% on the year or to have an element of your fund-raiser modeled after an international disaster, you get to decide a path, and how you know you're on track from Day One to the Final Day. Every person on the No More Leadership BS team has taken a team from the baseline to the big goal. Each person has helped others do the same. The insights and recommendations, as always, come from experience supported by theory, not just ideas alone. As you join this week's journey with The Team, consider your Big Awesome Goal and then sketch out how you're going to get there and how, along the way, you'll know you're on track. (Psssst.... it's the little goals and celebrations that will help the most)

What exactly does it mean to be "untethered" and why is it something you might consider doing?I was called to title this podcast using this word after a conversation with a mentor, who had helped me to see that it was invisible tethers that had kept (and were keeping) me from fully living my most authentic life. I was holding myself back from fully stepping into all the magic of life, because of these little worries and fears about not meeting the expectations of my family, not meeting the expectations of society, of my gender. In short, I was worried as hell about what others thought of me. And I'm not alone. After conversation after conversation on this podcast, I hear a similar theme. It's my goal to help myself and others to intentionally untether ourselves from societal, relational, and cultural expectations and rediscover our true authenticity. In this episode, I share one such incident - a story about how I my Christmas this year, and all the ways my tethers tried to get in the way of having the most magical experience. Through personal tales of growth and community support, I invite you to embrace your unique brilliance. We'll explore how breathwork and affirmations can be transformative, and I'll remind you that your natural gifts are exactly what the world needs. So join me in celebrating the magic within us all, and find solace in the understanding that we're surrounded by those who believe in our potential, even when we're learning to believe in it ourselves.Support the showCOME TO MY FREE WORD OF THE YEAR PARTY! "When you step through the fear and into the unknown, that is a place of possibility. You don't know what's going to happen, and that's why it's scary. But that means something amazing could happen."
In this episode I talk about an imperative that is close to every striving soul's heart - "Let Nothing Deter You." In this journey of life, where each one of us is on a personal quest for success, happiness, and fulfillment, there is one common challenge we face: the temptation to allow deterrents to cloud our path, to let the seeds of doubt take root and stifle our progress. But what are these deterrents? They are the fears, the hesitations, the naysayers that whisper of impossibility. They are the failures of yesterday that threaten to overshadow the potential of tomorrow. They are the societal norms that confine us to the ordinary when we are, indeed, built for the extraordinary. Our first step in overcoming these barriers is to recognize them. We must shine a light on our doubts and fears, for in the light, they lose their power. Acknowledge them, not as truths, but as the illusions that they are - shadows cast by the brilliance of our own potential. To "Let Nothing Deter You" is to embrace a principle that our imagination is the very gateway to the reality we wish to create. It is the crucible within which all our desires are forged into existence. Yet, in the pursuit of our goals, we often find ourselves besieged by an onslaught of mental adversaries. Imagine, if you will, a world unbound by the fetters of fear, a universe where the gravitational pull of our doubts does not bend the light of our aspirations. It's a tapestry of possibility, each thread an opportunity, each color a choice. Yet, here we stand, often at the precipice of action, teetering on the edge of 'what if' and 'if only.' We've been conditioned to see the chasm as a void, an abyss that swallows dreams and regurgitates regret. But what if we choose to see it differently? What if the chasm is not a void but a canvas, not an abyss but an altar of transformation?
