The Door Bumper Clear crew is back to break down a wild weekend of NASCAR racing, from Ryan Preece punching his ticket to The Chase to the chaos that unfolded at the end of the race. Freddie, Tommy and Eric are joined by Regan Smith to dive into the latest superspeedway package and debate whether NASCAR needs shorter, more frequent stages to keep drivers from riding around saving fuel. The crew also breaks down why the first stage looked so much like old-school Daytona, what NASCAR can do to make the racing even better, and why the sport may be closer than ever to getting superspeedway racing right. The guys also celebrate Ryan Preece's incredible playoff-clinching win and discuss just how much the victory means after the sacrifices he made to keep his racing career alive. Plus, they debate the biggest surprises of the playoff cut line, including Brad Keselowski and Ross Chastain, and celebrate Ryan Sieg finally getting his first NOAP Series win after 424 starts. Then there's the chaos: the final-lap wreck, Denny Hamlin's malfunctioning in-car camera, NASCAR leaving the race green through a major wreck, and whether drivers should really be expected to go wide open through incidents in the pack. And, of course, the guys have plenty to say about the announcement of Days of Thunder 2, Cole Pearn's hilarious reaction to the news, and the future of the Truck Series. Want more DBC? Ryan Preece needed to win at Daytona to make the Chase and he did exactly that. When calamity unfolded in overtime, Ryan took the lead and held on until the caution finally fell, capturing his first NASCAR Cup victory and besting Shane Van Gisbergen for the final Chase spot all at the same time. Our resident NASCAR reporters Jeff Gluck and Jordan Bianchi were both on the case in Daytona, and they took to the airwaves after the race to recap the action, chat about dunk tanks and take a closer look at the final Chase standings. Let's get ready to DIRTY THIRTY! Your week's been too squeaky clean — you need a dose of Dale discussing The Chase field, Door Bumper Clear commenting on Carson Hocevar, and a story about one of Dale Earnhardt's commercial props that Dale Jr. still has. We open up with Dale Jr. talking us through why he thinks The Chase field is too large and should be trimmed down to 12 ... heck, maybe even 10 drivers! Next up, Denny Hamlin had a tough day in Iowa because his brakes were basically useless. He discusses his conversations with NASCAR and the penalty they pondered creating if he went too far with his antics. Then, in Door Bumper Clear, the gang highlights the comments Carson Hocevar made about the sport "being on a ventilator" and why they simply disagree with him. Our guest on the Dale Jr. Download was Ken Ragan this week, and he had a front row seat to Richard Petty's 200th win -- literally! Last but definitely not least, Amy can't believe it when Dale Jr. reveals he still has a rather unusual item you wouldn't expect the Intimidator to have owned. All this fun in only 30 minutes? We Are Superman

Send us Fan MailWith the Badwater 135 having just started on Monday evening, I thought it would be great to bring Bob Becker onto the WASP. For those of you who are unfamiliar, the Badwater 135 is nicknamed the World's Toughest Footrace. It is, yes, 135 miles. In Death Valley. In the middle of the summer. All on roads. The temperature typically is in the 120s or more, and the pavement can get much, much hotter than that. It's not flat by any means, either. Badwater begins at the lowest point in the U.S. - 282 feet below sea level – crosses three mountain ranges, and finishes at more than 9000 feet on the slopes of Mt. Whitney, the highest point in the continental U.S. You can see why it's earned its moniker and legendary place in ultrarunning. In 2022, Bob attempted to become the oldest finisher in Badwater history at age 77. Videos of his finish went viral when he literally bear crawled to the line – but it was 17 minutes after the 48-hour cutoff, so it wasn't an official finish. That would have been it for many, but not Bob. He returned to the starting line at Badwater Basin three years later at age 80 and with crew that included ultrarunning and Badwater legend Marshall Ulrich and wife Heather, Bob nabbed that oldest finisher record in the astounding time of 45:00:06 – three hours faster than when he was 77! That was one of Bob's four Badwater finishes. He has also completed a Badwater double, which entails running from Badwater Basin to the top of 14,505-foot Mt. Whitney and returning to the start, a total of 292 oven-like miles. In this very entertaining chat, Bob explains the lure of running in Death Valley, and describes in detail what it is like to train for and to experience almost two days of running through that inferno. This is from someone who didn't even begin running until a bit over 20 years ago and ran his first ultramarathon to celebrate his 60th birthday, and it was the Marathon des Sables, which entails 150 miles in the Sahara Desert. Bob is also one of the great evangelists for the sport. He founded and still directs the Keys 100, Florida's first ultramarathon, which now includes more than 1000 runners, and has amazing logistical challenges that Bob describes here. His company Ultra Sports LLC also hosts the Daytona 100 and he consults to the Everglades Ultras. You'll be amazed at the energy this 80-year-old has, which is part of why he is in demand as a public speaker. This episode was recorded not long after he ran the Denali 135 in Alaska. He shares how he keeps ultraracing, became a vegan, how he trains for hills in pancake-flat Florida, and inspiring others to do their own movement so they can live fuller, healthier lives.Bob Beckerbob-becker.combob@ultrasportsllc.comInstagram @bobruns150Bill Stahlsilly_billy@msn.comFacebook and LinkedIn Bill StahlInstagram and Threads @stahlor and @coachstahlYouTube We Are Superman PodcastSubscribe to our Substack for my archive of articles of coaching tips developed from my more than three decades of experience, wild and funny stories from my long coaching career, the wit and wisdom of David, and highlights of some of the best WASP episodes from the past that I feel are worthwhile giving another listen.Search either We Are Superman Podcast or @billstahl8Register for the American Heroes Run: https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=133138

HR3 - Inconsistent QB play big reason why Drake London isn't looked at as Top 10 WR In hour three Mike Johnson and Beau Morgan continue to react to ESPN putting out a list of the top 10 wide receivers in the NFL as voted on by league scouts, executives and coaches, react to Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London not cracking the Top 10 and being in the ‘Honorable Mentions' category, explain why they think Drake is a Top 10 wide receiver, but also explain why they think the Falcons top wide receiver needs more 1,000+ yard receiving seasons to be looked at as a top wide receiver universally. Next, Mike and Beau react to the news that NASCAR recently changed their rules at Daytona International Speedway in an effort to make the racing at Daytona similar to the racing at Echo Park Speedway here in Georgia, react to the news that New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara will play for the Saints this season on a reworked contract, explain why they think the Saints will probably be the most unpredictable team in the NFC South this season, talk about how Atlanta was undoubtedly the best 2026 FIFA World Cup host city, talk about what they learned today during the show in ‘The More You Know', and then close out hour three by answering people's questions about anything in the Morning Mailbag!

This week on Bringing the Heat with Trey Lyle, Ty Dillon joins Danny Peters from the summer Sonoma race weekend. While the two talk about things like the World Cup and racing crown victorias with Cleetus McFarland, Dillon also gives his perspective of the reason why he has so much gratitude to be able to be a driver in the NASCAR Cup Series. After the interview, Peters joins Lyle to review the hottest topics of the week. That includes the CARS Tour adding Speedway Motorsports to the series ownership. Peters says it is an opportunity to add further legitimacy to a series that has really grown in the last few years. Lyle throws in some of the tracks he would like to see the CARS Tour visit with the announcement of this partnership. A new addition to NASCAR leadership hints that leaders are exploring further races outside of the United States. Peters believes NASCAR should find a way to put together an oval race in Europe to truly introduce the NASCAR flare into motorsports culture across the pond. In a Wednesday announcement, NASCAR also shared an update to the superspeedway package that will appear at Daytona. Lyle and Peters hope the changes will truly make a difference to remove the fuel-saving gridlock and improve the racing at the superspeedways. In this week's soundbite, Bubba Wallace reacts to his penalty on the last lap, and he discusses the contact with Ty Gibbs that sent the No. 23 spinning through the frontstretch grass. Peters and Lyle debate whether or not the out of bounds rule has room to be adjusted or changed at superspeedways to be more lenient on the final lap. The DBC gang is back in studio again today after an early Monday morning finish to a thrilling Cup race in Atlanta. Karsyn Elledge, Tommy Baldwin, and Eric Brennan are joined by JR Motorsports wheelman Rajah Caruth to talk through all the headlines from Trucks at Lime Rock to Cup at Hot-lanta. Rajah dives into what his season's been like split between the No. 88 and No. 32, his chances at making The Chase, and what it's like having Dale Jr himself come over the radio and give him some advice in the middle of the race. Tommy finally has nothing egregious to say about Carson Hocevar's driving after The Hurricane scored another Top-5 finish after nearly winning the Cup race. Karsyn explains how she wishes the JR Motorsports drivers had worked closer together at the end of the O'Reilly race, but Allgaier still got them the beer toast anyway. In Spot On, Spot Off, we cover:  Did Hocevar not get a push because of his attitude? The Bubba Wallace below-the-line penalty... Was worn-out Atlanta the cause for the O'Reilly chaos? Does Rajah Caruth think he's making the NOAPS Chase? Should NASCAR always have some form of practice? Plus, does NASCAR need practice at drafting tracks? And could we see a new rules package for the Cup Series as soon as Daytona next month? Reaction Theatre, Ask DBC, and S*** Show Hall of Fame wrap up another fantastic episode. Want more DBC? Welcome back for another episode of the Dirty Thirty — where we take the very best from Dirty Mo Media's week in content and distill it into a small batch blend of our hosts and guests. To start us off, Dale Jr. talked about his famous 2001 win at Daytona, only a handful of months after his father passed away. He remembers the celebration, the faces, and the somber moment that came with the crowd that surrounded him. We had a reunion of driver and crew chief this week on Door Bumper Clear! Ward Burton brings his son Jeb Burton to join in the fun with Tommy Baldwin to tell stories from the glory days, and the time Tommy told him he was leaving the No. 22 ... until he wasn't. Denny Hamlin checks in with us about his battle with the No. 45 team, his luck, and what that means for his regular-season championship chase. And finally, Kelley Earnhardt talks with Jeff Gluck about the business lessons she learned from her dad and how she approaches leadership today. That's all for this week!
