Scorcher of a day yesterday.  Temps in the upper 80's with 55% humidity made it feel like....TOO HOT for our New York family.  After getting dropped off in Daytona for Rockville...(why isn't this set up for late fall when things are more temperate?) my neice and great nephew and Lori & I...we ventured out to a local produce and animal farm in North West Palm Bay.  Tractor tour through the farm and then foot travel to go see and pet the animals there.  Kinda COOL seeing this farm smack in the middle of communities of HUGE unoccupied homes in various developments that surround it.  Harris Farms.  My niece promised her son that today, after dropping SUPER DAD and daughter off in Daytona again for day 2 of Rockville, that the two of them would have a total beach day.  The pain of my sunburn...first painful one in nearly 15 years, has subsided enough for me to maybe join them later in the afternoon.  MAYBE!  New podcasts with new music and new artists return on Tuesday May 20th; as that podcast week will rum from Tuesday through Saturday!

She was married to their father Justin Serlick from 2003 to 2013. Upon her divorce she was awarded sole custody of the oldest three. Justin Serlick refused to move out of Heather's home with her children after the divorce and he continued to emotionally and physically abuse the children and Heather.      In 2017 Heather had her fourth child with Justin, this was not a planned pregnancy. In fact, she was in school full-time working on her Bachelor's of Science Degree at UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Justin was taking advantage of Heather after she would take her Ambien to sleep. Heather had tried over the years to get Justin to move out of her home but his mother had threatened Heather over the years that if she removed Justin from the home she would make sure Heather never saw her children again......Non-Profit Email Address:JusticefortheSerlickChildren@gmail.comNon-Profit YouTube Channel:https://www.youtube.com/@JusticefortheSerlickChildrenNon-Profit FB Page:https://www.facebook.com/JusticefortheSerlickChildrenSupportshow(https://www.buymeacoffee.com/maryannpetri)Maryann Petri: dismantlingfamilycourtcorruption.comhttps://www.tiktok.com/@maryannpetriFacebook:  https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/guitarpeace/Pinterest: Slam The Gavel Podcast/@guitarpeaceLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/maryann-petri-62a46b1ab/  YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/@slamthegavelpodcasthostmar5536  Twitter https://x.com/PetriMaryannEzlegalsuit.comhttps://ko-fi.com/maryannpetri*DISCLAIMER* The use of this information is at the viewer/user's own risk. One is the actual hero car used in the David Spade cult classic JOE DIRT. The other is a Superbird that Jeff had cloned into a replica of the Joe Dirt Daytona with way more power and creature comforts that he plans to use as a daily driver. Stacey and Jeff dig into Jeff's love of the film, how it led to him going after it at Barrett-Jackson, and the insane amount of work that went to turning that Superbird into everyone's favorite heap from the movie.

EV Powerfest: 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona, 2025 Polestar 3 Launch Edition

America on the Road

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 12, 2025 43:57

The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona and the 2025 Polestar 3 Launch Edition are two of the quickest vehicles we've ever road-tested. Their sizzling 0-60-mile-per-hour times might also set your hair on fire. Yet, as quick as those two battery-electrics and as technologically savvy as they are, they are very different. That's what co-host Matt DeLorenzo and host Jack Nerad discovered as they tested the two vehicles this week. The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona is a bold, all-electric muscle car featuring a sleek, aerodynamic design and cutting-edge technology. Built on Dodge's new STLA Large platform, it delivers up to 670 horsepower in its top performance trim, which allows the Daytona to rocket from 0 to 60 mph in just about 3 seconds. That heart-stopping go-power places it among the quickest modern performance cars. Its most controversial feature is the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust that delivers ersatz muscle car sounds, which thrilled one of our hosts and turned off the other. The 2025 Polestar 3 Launch Edition aims to redefine the luxury electric SUV with its minimalist Scandinavian styling, 489 horsepower, 620 lb-ft of torque, and all-wheel drive. Despite weighing over 5,000 pounds, it manages a brisk 0–60 mph time of about 4.5 seconds, helped by active air suspension and torque vectoring. Inside, it offers premium touches like ventilated Nappa leather seats, a panoramic glass roof, a Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a slick Android Automotive OS with Google built-in. But is its reliance on the large 14.5-inch touchscreen for most functions distracting? Is its $88,100 price with options just too high? And will it be the victim of Chinese tariffs? Matt and Jack will have the answers. We have two great guests for you this week. Danielle Livingston is a marketing expert, and Jake Robin is a product expert on the brand-new Toyota 4Runner. Jack Nerad had a chance to chat with them recently about that very cool new SUV, so we're sure you'll enjoy what they have to say. We have an EV expert with us this week, so it's appropriate that we look at the current state of EVs in the United States and where the market might be headed. J.D. Power's E-Vision report is the source of our conversation starters. Of course, tariffs in the auto industry continue to grab headlines. Again this week, with veteran industry reporter Matt DeLorenzo aboard, we'll tell you what is real and what is hype and give you thoughts on how you should proceed if you're planning to buy a car. So we have tons of show for you this week. Jack Nerad's newest book Jack is now offering his newest crime novel, Only One Thing Stays the Same, at a pre-publication price of just $4.99. No?  Join at www.Patreon.com/pcartalk **25% Tariffs and Their Impact** The newly implemented 25% tariffs will affect virtually everyone in the automotive world, even if you only buy used cars. Parts imported from outside the US are subject to these tariffs, which is why I rushed to purchase components from FVD Brombacher in Germany before prices increase. We'll have a deep conversation about how this affects the market and your wallet. **992.2 Turbo Hybrid Confirmation** Following up on our previous discussion, we now have official confirmation about the 992.2 Turbo hybrid. We'll close the loop on this development and what it means for the future of the 911 lineup. **Porsche Penske Racing Success** Porsche Penske secured impressive 1-2 finishes at Sebring! This is significant because it demonstrates the car's versatility - winning both the 24-hour Daytona and the shorter Sebring track. This challenges the previous notion that these cars would only perform well on certain tracks. What does this mean for Le Mans? **911 Carrera Price Increases vs. Corvette Z06** Car and Driver reported the new 911 Carrera now starts at $129,950 - an $8k increase. Meanwhile, the new Corvette Z06 costs $127,345 with its naturally aspirated 670 horsepower engine. With the addition of tariffs, the American sports car is looking like an incredible bargain. What would you choose? ## After the Break **Turbo S Hybrid Service Challenges** **Massive Financial Impact of Tariffs**

What does a championship-winning IMSA engineer and team director want from a race car? What does he *need* from it? Should those qualities match up? How much race could a race car race if a race car could race cars?So many questions. We definitely answer the first two. Maybe also the last one. (Maybe.)A good race engineer blends the art of the possible with the science of the probable. INTC co-host Jeff Braun has been perfecting that blend professionally for more than four decades. On this week's episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash and Sean Oliver settle in for a deep and wide-ranging conversation that goes far beyond wrestling. The episode, titled “It's Not Me, It's You,” touches on everything from Kevin's return to the road for a fan convention, to thoughtful reflections on grief, fatherhood, autism, and the emotional impact of connecting with fans face-to-face. Kevin opens up about what it felt like to get back out in the world after some time away, recounting his travel experience, interactions with fans, and a touching story about someone who brought him a photo of his late son that hit him harder than expected. He and Sean also dig into the kind of connection that can form between performers and their audiences—especially when people feel seen, heard, and understood. Whether it's the dad who listens to the podcast in the car with his daughter, or the fans who just want a minute to say thanks, Kev gets real about what that means to him at this stage in his life. The guys also spend some time talking about Kevin's run-in with Shannon Elizabeth at the con (yes, she owns a rhino), and the surreal feeling of chatting casually with Henry Winkler when your brain still remembers him as “The Fonz.” There's a moment where the conversation shifts into a discussion of autism and how people on the spectrum can be misread or mishandled by those who don't understand. Kevin draws on his own experiences with his son to talk about empathy, patience, and just taking the time to listen. Later in the episode, they analyze John Cena's current direction in WWE, breaking down the psychology of a slow-burn breakup between a performer and the audience that used to love him. It's not just about titles—it's about worth, legacy, and feeling like you gave your all only to be left behind. That leads into a great sidebar on Kurt Angle's criminally underrated TNA run and why that company never got the respect it deserved. As always, there are plenty of laughs too. Kevin recounts getting pulled over and ticketed in what may or may not have been a construction zone, tells stories from his days in the business, and somehow we end up talking about orbs flying over Daytona, chamomile tea, Ron White stand-up, and black shoe polish as a home remedy for ringworm. It's one of those episodes that bounces between hilarious, heartfelt, and heavy without missing a beat. Whether you're here for the wrestling talk, the behind-the-scenes stories, or the real-life reflections, this one delivers across the board. Dale Earnhardt Jr. welcomes former Cup Series driver & 1978 Karting World Champion Lake Speed to the studio to learn about his path from karts to Cup. Without the support of his parents, Lake had to chase the racing dream on his own, and started a karting business out of his house to fuel the fire. After finding success stateside, Lake ventured to Europe to pursue the ultimate achievement in karting: The World Championships. After a few embarrassing first attempts racing internationally, Lake finally won it all in 1978, beating future F1 Champion Ayrton Senna.  After achieving the highest honor in the karting world, Lake shares why he wanted to move to NASCAR, and looks back at the moment he busted his ass in his first handful of laps in a Cup car. Lake opens up on his deep connection to faith, and how he learned to trust the inner voice in his head. Once he started trusting that voice, everything changed for him, and he went on to deliver an impressive second place finish in the Daytona 500 and a win at Darlington several years later. Dale & Lake close out the interview by discussing his relief efforts following Davey Allison's passing, his fight with Michael Waltrip, and his experience working with the Motor Racing Outreach. Even at 77 years old, Lake still races. That alone should tell you this is a conversation you have to hear.
