Family and newborn photographer and educator Elena S Blair joins The Photographic Collective Podcast to unpack how she's built a thriving photography business that's both profitable and deeply personal. With over 300 students coached and years of speaking at events like WPPI, Elena makes the case that systems and soul aren't opposites the right systems are exactly what give you back the time to stay present with clients, family, and the work you love.In this conversation, Elena, Miles, and Jared dig into why "community over competition" isn't just a slogan, how to find your signature style and the courage to go all-in on it, and why most photographers who feel stuck are really just out of time, not talent. Elena also gets honest about handling online negativity, protecting your energy, and why being unapologetically yourself is the best marketing strategy there is.What you'll learn:Why systems protect the heart of your business instead of stripping it awayHow to identify and commit to your signature style — and why it's scarier (and more rewarding) than blending inThe real difference between a struggling photographer and a profitable oneBuilding a calm, repeatable business instead of running on "panic marketing"How to find your people and build a community that pulls you forwardHandling trolls, criticism, and self-doubt when your work means something to youWhether you shoot families, weddings, or brands, this episode is a reminder that you can grow a real, sustainable business without sacrificing the art or the life you got into this for.Want more? When we adopted our fifth child, Nicolai, at the age of nine, we never imagined we would end up battling circumstances that would lead to over 100 hospital visits.Today, as an adult, Nicolai has several issues that prevent him from having a normal life. Before we go any further, we do want to let you know that Nicolai gave his permission to share his story. He struggles to manage money and lives primarily in homeless camps. When we do get to see him, our visits are short and typically away from the rest of our adult children. As parents, we've struggled to know how to help him and have learned the hard way that we shouldn't always rescue him from his circumstances. If you or a loved one has an adult child with life-controlling problems like mental illness, addiction, homelessness, or another similar struggle, we hope this deeply honest and vulnerable conversation can be a helpful resource. In this episode, you'll hear:Why you can't make your child's problems go awayHow to lovingly detachHow your child's struggles impact everyone in your familyAnd more!Find resources mentioned and more in the show notes: jillsavage.org/life-controlling-issues-302Check out our other resources:Mark and Jill's Marriage StoryMarriage CoachingMarriage 2.0 IntensivesSpeaking ScheduleBook Mark and Jill to SpeakOnline CoursesBooks Marriage Resources:Infidelity RecoveryFor Happy MarriagesFor Hurting MarriagesFor Marriages Where You're the Only One Wanting to Get Help Mom Resources:New/Preschool MomsMoms with GradeschoolersMoms with Teens and TweensMoms with Kids Who Are LaunchingEmpty Nest Moms

Between loss, motherhood, summer schedules, consultations, weddings, and the everyday chaos of life, it can feel like creativity gets buried under stress. But Jen shares an important reminder: chaos does not mean you lost your talent. It does not mean something is wrong with you. It may simply mean your nervous system is overloaded, your energy is depleted, and your creativity needs a softer, more intentional way back in.This episode is all about how to reconnect with your creative self when life feels hard — not by forcing brilliance, but by creating space, lowering the pressure, using supportive inspiration, and giving yourself more grace. In this episode, Jen talks about:Why chaotic seasons can make creativity feel far awayHow stress, grief, motherhood, and exhaustion impact your ability to createWhy creativity needs spaceWhy waiting for the “perfect mood” is not realisticHow to lower the pressure on your creative processWhy you do not need genius — you need momentumHow to use inspiration banks like Instagram folders, Pinterest boards, linens, venues, textures, and flowers to spark ideasWhy outside input can support your creativity when your brain feels tiredHow constraints can actually make creating easierWhy protecting tiny pockets of quiet and mental space mattersHow your body, energy, rest, and nervous system affect your creativityWhy chaos does not mean you are brokenHow creativity can become healing instead of another demandKey takeawayYou did not lose your creativity. When life feels chaotic, your creativity may simply need more space, more softness, and less pressure. You may just need a gentler path back to it.

In this episode of The Entrepreneur's Journey, Jason Gabrieli sits down with John Bailie of CompassPoint to discuss the unique challenges family-owned businesses face when planning for succession and leadership transition. Drawing from his background in counseling, entrepreneurship, executive coaching, and family business consulting, John shares practical insights on how families can begin difficult conversations around succession, leadership development, and generational legacy. The discussion explores why so many business owners avoid planning for transition, how to create a healthy leadership pipeline inside a family business, and why the most successful generational businesses focus on values and purpose—not just wealth creation. John also explains how business owners can shift from day-to-day operator roles into meaningful mentorship and advisory positions as they prepare for the next chapter of life and business. In This Episode, You'll Learn:Why succession planning should begin long before retirementThe emotional and psychological barriers business owners face when stepping awayHow family dynamics complicate leadership transitionsWhy successful transitions are rarely “all in or all out”The importance of developing future leaders intentionallyHow to create a talent development culture inside a family businessWhy legacy matters more than simply passing down wealthThe role of mentorship and advisory leadership after transitionHow open communication reduces fear and uncertainty in family businessesWhy great succession planning focuses on values as much as operational competence3 Things To RememberEvery business will transition eventually—the question is how much influence you'll have over the process.Succession conversations become easier when they are normalized early and discussed often.Strong transitions happen when businesses focus on developing people, not just filling positions.Useful LinksCompassPoint Consulting: https://www.compasspt.com/Connect with Michael Pallozzi: pallozzi@hfmadvisors.com | LinkedInConnect with Jason Gabrieli: jgabrieli@hfmadvisors.com | LinkedInEditing and post-production work for this episode was provided by The Podcast Consultant (https://thepodcastconsultant.com)Like what you've heard…Subscribe to our BuiltWealth™ Newsletter HERE
Do you only seem to take action — really move — when the deadline is real and the stakes are felt? You're not broken. You're not lazy. Your mind is doing exactly what minds do: creating distance between you and what you want, and waiting for pressure to collapse it.In this episode of the Spiritualised Podcast, Jess Fenton explores one of the most misunderstood dynamics in manifestation and money mindset work — the role of pressure in collapsing timelines. If you've ever noticed that your biggest breakthroughs happen at the last minute, that you work best under pressure, or that no matter how much inner work you do the thing you want still feels out of reach — this episode speaks directly to that pattern.Jess unpacks the concept of distance in manifestation: what it actually is, how the mind constructs it layer by layer through perfectionism, over-preparation, and logical sequencing, and why those layers look like progress but function as delay. She explores why this pattern is particularly pronounced for non-linear, quantum, and ADHD-adjacent thinkers — and what it means for how you approach manifestation, money, and business growth. In this episode:Why pressure accelerates manifestation — and the neuroscience behind itWhat "distance" in manifestation actually is and how the subconscious builds itThe conscious/subconscious split: wanting something and simultaneously keeping it awayHow drama in relationships mirrors the pressure dynamic in businessThe practice of collapsing the middle — dropping the layers and making the bold moveWhy your biggest, most ambitious vision may be the easiest thing to manifest once you stop protecting yourself from itThis episode is for you if:You identify as a non-linear thinker, have ADHD, or move best under real pressureYou're a spiritual entrepreneur or conscious business owner whose manifestations aren't matching your inner workYou feel like the thing you want is always just out of reach no matter what you doYou're done with slow and ready to understand why the quantum leap is actually simpler than the stepsFor the full written exploration — including a breakdown of the three forms of pressure and how to use them consciously rather than waiting for circumstances to impose them — read the companion piece on Substack:

You finally meet someone you click with. You've got things in common, the conversation flows, and suddenly you're ready to tell her everything. But that hunger for closeness in a new friendship can actually push people away before the relationship has a chance to build. In this episode, Danielle sits down with therapist and author Minaa B. to explore why so many women rush platonic intimacy, what happens when a new friend doesn't match your energy, and how early sibling dynamics can subtly fuel competition and scarcity in adult friendships. Minaa also shares what it actually takes to break the pattern, starting with the self-worth work most of us skip.
Hello and welcome to Episode 320 of The People Powered Business Podcast. You've hired someone. Finally. After the job ads, the interviews, the back and forth, they said yes and they're starting Monday. The hard part is over, right?Wrong. Almost half of every person you hire won't make it through their first twelve months. Not because they were the wrong person. Because nobody set them up to succeed.I can't quite believe I've barely touched this topic in 320 episodes, because the first 90 days is the most important period of time in determining whether a hire works out, and most small business owners have no plan for it beyond "here's your login and good luck."We treat onboarding like a box to tick when it's actually the foundation of the entire working relationship. In this episode I'm pulling back the curtain on what actually happens in most small businesses during those first 90 days, why it quietly sets new hires up to fail, and what a proper 90-day plan looks like when you're not a corporate with an HR department. I'm also sharing the insight that stops most business owners in their tracks when I share it, because the underperformance conversations you're dreading? A lot of them trace directly back to a broken onboarding. You're fixing the wrong end of the problem. In this episode we cover:Why 46% of new hires don't make it through their first year, and what's really driving that numberThe most common onboarding mistakes small business owners make (including the "fire hose" trap)What a structured 90-day plan actually looks like across weeks, months and milestonesThe single thing that kills good onboarding even when you start with good intentionsWhat to do if someone is already in their first 90 days and things feel offIf you've got someone starting soon and you want to make sure you nail their first 90 days, book a free 15-minute clarity call with me: https://calendly.com/kristyleebillett/chatLinks & Resources:
What happens when the life you've built—your identity, your direction, your sense of control—changes in an instant? In this conversation, Reino Gevers speaks with Dr. Tom Dutta, known as The Quiet Warrior, about a journey that moves far beyond success, resilience, or recovery. After rising to the highest levels of corporate leadership as a CEO, Tom came to a quiet but decisive realisation: leadership is not about authority, but authenticity—and the courage to lift others. Then everything changed.A severe brain injury disrupted not only his career, but his sense of self—forcing him into a far deeper confrontation with identity, limitation, and what truly endures when life no longer follows the expected path. What emerges from this conversation is not a story of overcoming in the conventional sense, but something more demanding:What remains when control is taken awayHow identity is reshaped through lossWhy resilience alone is not enough without inner transformationThrough his work—including best-selling books, The Quiet Warrior Podcast, and doctoral research into mental health and generational trauma—Tom continues to explore what it means to live with depth, awareness, and purpose after everything has been tested. This episode speaks directly to anyone who has faced a moment where life no longer fits the story they were living—and is searching for what comes next.#Resilience #MentalHealth #Leadership #PersonalGrowth#SelfDevelopment #OvercomingAdversity #LifeLessons #WhenFaithStopsWorking #LivingToBe #ReinoGevers #TomDutta #thequietwarriorMore Information: Public work at www.kreat.cahttps://www.thequietrevelationinstitute.org/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tomdutta/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thequietwarrioreats/Podcast: The Quiet Warrior Show YouTube: @tomduttaAdverse Childhood Experience Test for AdultsLink: ACE TestDefining TraumaFrom the Greek word for wound — trauma is not just a terrible thing that happens to you. It is what happens inside you when an experience is so painful or frighteningthat your mind and body cannot make sense of it at the time.It gets stored in your body and your feelings, not just your memories. The Remembering is the second chapter in a four-part solo series exploring the Wild & Waking Framework — a cyclical, soul-deep map for personal growth, identity evolution, and embodied leadership. Unlike linear self-help models or rigid step-by-step systems, the Wild & Waking journey is a living spiral. It's a rhythm you move through again and again, learning to recognize where you are right now and honor that place as sacred. In this episode, Emily dives into The Remembering — the phase defined by the question, “Who was I before the world told me who to be?” This is the water phase of the journey: fluid, deep, intuitive, and quietly powerful. The Remembering is not about becoming someone new; it's about coming home. Beneath the layers of obligation, conditioning, expectations, and survival strategies, there is a deeper knowing that has always been there — waiting to be heard. This phase invites you to soften, turn inward, and begin listening to the whispers that have been trying to find you all along. If you're in a season of rediscovering your desires, reclaiming your intuition, or gently peeling back the layers of who you thought you had to be, this conversation will meet you exactly where you are — and remind you that you were never lost. You were always remembering. In this episode, I explore:What it means to remember yourself after years of conditioning, people-pleasing, and self-abandonmentHow identity evolution often begins after burnout, dissatisfaction, or the sense that your life no longer fitsWhy remembering can bring grief, anger, or rage alongside reliefReclaiming intuition and body awareness as sacred data rather than something to override, fix, or explain awayHow nervous system regulation, cycle awareness, and somatic curiosity support self-trust and emotional healingUntangling your sense of worth and identity from productivity, roles, motherhood, leadership, and external validationThe subtle ways we curate our lives around safety, approval, and survival instead of truth and desirePractical, grounded practices that support remembering, including journaling, walking, reflection, and intuition-led inquiryWhy fulfillment, joy, and embodied confidence begin to emerge when you learn to know, love, and trust yourselfBe sure to hit subscribe so you never miss the latest episode!Connect with Emily:Website: www.EmilyReuschel.comInstagram: @emilyreuschelFacebook: Emily ReuschelLinkedIn: Emily Reuschel
I'm just going to say it…Your body is NOT Amazon Prime. You don't hit “order” on macros and wake up with your dream body 2 days later! Honestly, this expectation is why SO many people keep quitting.I see and hear it constantly from ladies: they track their macros for a couple of days (maybe a week), don't see the scale move, and immediately decide “nope - it's not working”. But…let's be real. Did you GAIN 20 pounds in two days? No. So, why would you expect to lose it that fast?!The truth you need to hear? Your expectations are the problem - not your effort, your plan, or your body. not your body. What actually needs to change is how you measure progress, and how quickly you expect results! Revenue teams are dealing with more tools, more data, more automation - and more pressure - than ever before. Growth isn't just about selling better anymore. It's about how the entire revenue engine actually works. For the first time, RevOps isn't a background function — it's shaping how companies grow, scale, and make decisions. In this episode of the Belkins Podcast, Michael Maximoff sits down with Jen Igartua, Founder & CEO of Go Nimbly, to unpack what's really happening inside modern revenue organizations — and why RevOps is suddenly at the center of it all.Jen has helped architect revenue systems for some of the most respected SaaS companies in the world, including Twilio, Zendesk, Snowflake, Intercom, and Superhuman. But this conversation isn't about theory or frameworks. It's about what breaks when companies scale, where AI actually helps (and where it creates chaos), and why the future of sales, marketing, and RevOps looks very different than most teams expect. What you'll learn in this episode:Why RevOps is having a moment — and how rising complexity, AI adoption, and executive pressure have pushed RevOps into a strategic roleWhat Revenue Operations actually does beyond automation, reporting, and tooling — including enablement, strategy, and protecting the customer experienceHow AI is changing RevOps teams — from workflow automation and data architecture to the risks of agent and automation sprawlThe real future of sales roles — why junior SDR roles are disappearing, and why business development is becoming more senior, not automated awayHow to know when your company needs RevOps — including revenue thresholds, organizational signals, and common mistakes founders make too earlyWhat strong RevOps teams get right — clean data, shared definitions, cross-functional trust, and decision-making that actually sticksThroughout the episode, Jen and Michael go deep on the messy, human side of scaling revenue — misaligned incentives, broken handoffs, over-engineered stacks, and the uncomfortable truth that most companies don't actually have a single view of the customer. This isn't a hype conversation about tools. It's a grounded look at how modern revenue organizations are being rebuilt — and why RevOps is now one of the most critical functions inside growing B2B companies.Chapters:00:00- Intro: Who is Jen Igartua03:17- What is RevOps?09:25- AI Changed RevOps: AIOps, When to Hire RevOps, Build vs Outsource17:25- Workflow Automation Is Getting Out of Control24:02- What's Next: Platform Consolidation in RevOps27:46- Clay, HubSpot, and the Reality of the Modern RevOps Stack33:48- The Limits of AI in Sales & Marketing39:25- How SDRs, Marketing, and Social Selling Are Merging49:50- RevFest: Building Real RevOps Community01:00:49- Go Nibly's Evolution and Strategy01:12:44- Curated Dinners as Acquisition Strategies01:21:26- Creativity, Leadership, and “Follow the Fun”About the ShowWhat does it really take to grow a B2B business today? We unpack what changes when you chase something bold later in life, how nature reshapes your mindset, and what happens when you open yourself up to synchronicity, generosity, and the unexpected. We also talk about the stark environmental changes she witnessed: the plastic where it didn't belong, the shrinking glaciers, and the fragility of ecosystems many of us will never see. This episode is a meditation on endurance, improvisation, awe, and the will to keep growing—even (especially) as we age.
