Well, one former police lieutenant apparently decided to push that experiment all the way to NINE HOURS, and naturally The Rizzuto Show has nothing but questions, admiration and several concerns about the safety of the station coffee.Welcome to another comedy podcast from The Rizzuto Show, where we begin with the story of a veteran Burlington police lieutenant accused of spending massive chunks of his shifts sitting in the break room instead of, you know… police-ing. Nothing says “credible music journalism” quite like blindly ranking ten legendary rock bands without knowing which one is coming next. Welcome to another comedy podcast from The Rizzuto Show, where Queen gets the throne, Metallica becomes the baseline for civilization, and somehow The Beatles end up staring directly at KISS's backside.We kick things off with a blind ranking of some of the biggest rock bands ever: Metallica, The Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Nirvana, Guns N' Roses, Pink Floyd, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and KISS. The rules are simple: once you place a band, you're stuck with it. Naturally, this creates an absolutely flawless list that no music fan could possibly have an issue with.Just kidding. It's a disaster.Metallica lands at number five and becomes the dividing line for the entire exercise. The Rolling Stones climb toward the top, AC/DC gets placed too low and immediately causes regret, Queen claims number one, and then The Beatles arrive after almost all the good spots have disappeared. The result? The Beatles finish DEAD LAST behind KISS.Music historians, please direct your complaints somewhere else. We have enough going on.That leads to a bigger Beatles debate as Rafe argues that the band deserves enormous credit for what they changed, but that doesn't mean everybody has to automatically put them at number one. Moon attempts to defend civilization. Lern reveals she does not suffer from “Beatle boner mania.” Somehow Michael McDonald becomes the secret fifth Beatle. This is why nobody lets us curate the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.Speaking of legendary musicians, the crew gets into the backlash surrounding a George Michael tribute featuring performers including Teddy Swims and Sombr. Some viewers were furious with the choices, while the show tries to determine what exactly would have made everybody happy. Adam Lambert gets some love, Andrew Ridgeley's name is miraculously remembered, and Riz discovers his biggest problem with Sombr may simply be that somebody stole the “E” from his name.Then Rafe's birthday completely takes over the studio.The crew surprises him with a brand-new grill for his new house, which immediately raises the question of whether they can fire it up inside the studio. For legal reasons and continued access to oxygen, the answer appears to be no.But the grill is only the beginning. Rafe gets a personal birthday message from Rick of Rick's Ace Hardware — whom Rafe immediately embraces as his new father — along with an Ace bucket loaded with homeowner supplies. It turns out Rafe's previous love for the store traveled up the Ace Hardware corporate ladder and was even shared at a company convention. That's right: Rafe somehow became an Ace Hardware influencer without even trying. Take that, every 22-year-old making sponsored TikToks.There are also homemade deviled eggs, handmade coasters featuring Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and even Rafe's own dog, plus the discovery that Rafe shares a birthday with Monica Bellucci. At this point the man has a grill, deviled eggs, a bucket and Monica Bellucci spiritually connected to him through a calendar.
