Planet Earth is engaged in a cosmic dance with the other bodies in our solar system. When a certain planet or star group comes into alignment (with our own one another), it is significant. We pay attention to the full moon as well as solar and lunar eclipses. Another way we recognize this relationship is to celebrate the cycle of the seasons, marked by June and December Solstices and March and September Equinoxes. Solstices and Equinox are moments where we are also able to experience increased soul growth, ask questions (and receive answers), to set goals, and to call energy into our path. They are celebrated so widely because they power they have. A lot of people naturally tap into this just by being on the planet. Have you been awake all night, lately? Finding yourself having dreams where you are moving through houses or tunnels to get to a destination? That is a sign your soul is having this experience. Modern medicine tends to divide the human body into separate, distinct systems but our bodies are complex entities that are intricately connected. The field of gut health is constantly evolving, and the more we learn, the more we understand about the body's expansive interconnectedness. Our gut health impacts a myriad of functions in the body, including metabolism, immune health, and even our mental health. One of the leading experts in dissecting the relationship between food and mood is Dr. Uma Naidoo. She is a Harvard psychiatrist, professional chef, and a nutritional specialist. Her specialty is Nutritional Psychology—a field that approaches mental health in a holistic and integrated way. On this episode of The Model Health Show, Dr. Naidoo is back to share powerful insights on how what we eat affects our mental health. You're going to hear key insights on the gut-brain connection, and how taking a wider perspective on mental illnesses can facilitate healing. You're going to learn what to eat for better mental health, including specific nutrients and foods you can incorporate into your diet. Dr. Naidoo is a true expert in all things psychiatry, and I think you're going to love her realistic and balanced approach to boosting your mood through diet. Enjoy! In this episode you'll discover: The connection between mental health and physical health. How your diet impacts your mental well-being. What the gut-brain connection is, and how it influences mental health. The definition of Nutritional Psychiatry. Why taking a holistic approach to mental health is so important. The role that therapy and medication plays in Nutritional Psychiatry. Why the standard practice of diagnosing mental illnesses is antiquated. How nutrition can impact the symptoms of anxiety. Have you been wounded? Physically, emotionally, psychologically, or even spiritually? These wounds can cause us great harm in areas where we make decisions, how we think, how we live our lives, and in what we believe about who we are. How do we overcome negative labels, word curses, repressed memories and abuse we learned to normalize to survive? Sometimes a wounded person can succeed in business and life, but they will never be able to obtain joy or fulfillment until they can get free of the pain. And oftentimes, wounded people struggle to succeed at all. So, let's get you healed! Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2

A couple of months ago, I was listening to the song “Come, Come, Ye Saints,” and I thought: this would be a great song for childbirth. Especially this line… Come, come, ye saints, no toil or labor fear; But with joy wend your way. Though hard to you this journey may appear Grace shall be as your day. Then I got thinking about some of the other hymns and realized that so many of them could be seen through the lens of childbirth and take on new meaning. For instance,”work,” “toil,” “labor” and related words can be considered in terms of childbirth. “Temple” can refer to our bodies/wombs or the holy places where we choose to give birth to our babies. Here are some passages I found particularly meaningful as potential aids for women in childbirth. Ginny has always been connected to the earth and everything on it. She spent as much time as possible digging in the back yard of her suburban home as a kid, and petting every animal she could get close to. Because she couldn’t have pets and animals around her, she drew them. Sketchbooks full of them, primarily horses. The animals have always called to her, with a deep knowingness that we are connected to all things. There is a curious connection between success and knowledge. I am not talking about general knowledge, technical knowledge or current affairs. Those do have a critical place they play. However, the knowledge and the revelation that we as humans are entitled to success will go a long way in catalyzing our success in life. If we knew that we are to be successful, then we have a chance. The opposite is also true. If you knew that you were not entitled to it, you won't seek it in the first place. Listen to this.
Imagine having a first float that’s so powerful, it opens up a world of possibilities. That’s what happened to Jesse Parks when he visited our own Gloria Morris’s Float Sixty. A few days after his amazing first float, where he felt “connected to source”, he posted about it on his personal Facebook account, and within a few hours, the post started going viral. Almost two weeks later, his post with a photo of a float tank and a few words about his first sensory deprivation experience, were shared almost 100,000 times, enough to spark Google search trends and some ripple effects to float centers across the U.S. as curious potential float guests started to look for how they could have the same. We invited Jesse on to the show to talk about his experience as a first timer, as well as how it was going viral. Jesse is also a musician who creates meditation music that complements float therapy well, so it felt a little serendipitous for all of our paths to cross. After the “Knuckleheads” wrap up the conversation with Jesse, loaded with gratitude and some fun plans for the future, they reflect on the challenges - lined with many blessings - this year has brought. One thing is certain - there’s something special about the float industry, and we’re all grateful to be a part of it. Thank you for lending us your ears this year. We’ll see ya again after a short break. Visit our show page for all today's links! SANG is a group of some of the most successful speakers and authors in the world. On the list of SANG Members and Participants, you can find esteemed professionals such as Tony Robbins, Les Brown, Peter Guber, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hanse, Harvey Mackay, Keith Ferrazzi, Tony Hsieh of Zappos and Paula Abdul.Larry’s goal is to raise a billion dollars over his lifetime through his connections, business ventures, and social influence. He is a strong advocate for many charity organizations and believes that we CAN and WILL change the world, and solve the problems that plague so many people in America. He is the past Chairman of the Tsunami Disaster Relief Project, where he brought top business leaders together to raise money for the victims of the Indonesian Tsunami. He has also supported the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, served on the advisory board of the Wyland Foundation and the Soul of Africa, and has helped raise money for Richard Branson’s charity, Virgin Unite. When Larry isn’t working, he likes to attend live concerts, sporting events, and award shows like the Grammy’s. On the top of that list, however, is spending time with his 4 little nieces.Connect with Larry:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/larrybenetTwitter: https://twitter.com/larrybenetWebsite: http://www.larrybenet.com/In This Episode We Canvas:The Big Turn-off of NetworkingLarry has never been excited about networking and doesn’t encourage it at all. He is more focused on connecting with influential people and other people in general and believes more in helping people, adding value to their lives, serving them, and making a difference in their lives in an authentic manner. “One of the last things that I personally would like to do is go to an event where I don’t know anyone and try to walk up to random strangers.” - Larry BenetThe 5-Step Recipe for ConnectingHis recipe for connecting with people starts with creating an authentic meaningful personal connection with someone, followed by finding out what is most important to them, helping them get what they want, being a good VC (Value Creator), and setting up a good strong follow up system that will ensure you stay in touch with them. “You don’t have to be a venture capitalist, but if you can just master the skill of value creation, in my opinion, that’s one of the most valuable things you can learn.” - Larry BenetHow to Figure Out What’s Important to PeopleFinding out what’s important to people both personally and professionally is a game-changer and the best method is still - just to ask them, point-blank. And if you can help them to get closer to achieving it - your relationship will be off to a great start!“After I have a rapport with someone, I’ll just come flat out and ask them what’s the important project or goal they’re working on in case I or my influential network might be able to help them.” - Larry BenetWhat Is Relationship Currency? In life and business, people prefer to do business with people they know, like, and trust. But Larry believes that when we help others, we make it easier to connect with those people, and this the fundamental meaning of relationship currency or relationship capital. There is so much power in realizing that there is always someone who has what another person wants.“The reality is, what you want in life, someone else already has.” - Larry BenetThe Value of TrustA great example of just how deterring lack of trust can be are the relationships between the republicans and democrats in the United States. They don’t trust each other. The resulting effect of that is that it takes them a very long time to pass legislation. Trust is critical and the fact of the matter is that whenever trust is involved and we go out of our way to help someone, a lot of value is being exchanged. It’s a lot easier to get the end result done and to do it way more efficiently.“When there is no trust, things take a very long time.” - Larry BenetInvesting Time into Connecting with PeopleConnecting with people is a way of life for Larry, and he encourages people to incorporate reaching out to three people a day into their daily structure. This should include showing appreciation by, for example, pulling out your phone and texting someone you haven’t talked to in a while and tell them how you value them. It’s really all about being thoughtful!“It’s just being thoughtful more than anything else. It doesn’t have to take a whole lot of time or money.” - Larry BenetHow to Be a Value CreatorWhen we come into contact with others, we should think about how we can contribute to them. There are so many ways to do that and it can be as simple as just sharing a book, a podcast, or an article. Larry believes in being a “professional inviter” and advises people to always invite others to events. He encourages giving to givers because when we give to takers all the time, our world doesn’t change very much.“It all comes down to creating value, being a resource for others.” - Larry BenetMastering How to Stay In TouchWe need to learn how to utilize the advantage our smartphones provide us with. We can write notes about the people we meet and keep track of information that goes above and beyond just their phone number and email. We can write down when we met them, how we met them, what’s important to them, when their birthday is, and so much more. Those details enable us to stay in touch on a more regular basis.“One plus one equals eleven and the art of staying in touch makes a difference.” - Larry BenetLarry’s Message of Inspired EvolutionThe fact that connections are one of my highest values made having Larry on such a blessing. I just love how simple Larry’s recipe for connecting with people is and truly hope this episode inspires you to go out there and connect more. The world is full of friends we haven’t met yet!“If possible, put yourself in an environment where you can connect with others” - Larry Benet See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

On this episode of Kaleidoscope radio, Alexa answers the demand of the Kaleidoscope. She asked, you answered and you told her in alarming numbers that you want to learn about Tantra. Alexa's answer? To welcome the lovely Devi Erickson to the show! Devi has a background immersed in traditional Tantric practice, and authentic teachings that she learned from a man who not only studied Tantra for over 30 years, but also learned Tibetan practices that are barely known, let alone taught. Devi tells Alexa about her entry into Tantra, and how when she moved to Vancouver, people just thought she gave erotic massages. She described the basis, foundation and tradition of Tantra, and the purpose it's meant to serve. She and Alexa also share a giggle over some of the more “enlightened” terms for genitalia in other cultures. She takes us along for a quick but intense history lesson and describes Tantra using a river metaphor that paints the most beautiful image possible. She also weaves her own experiences into that history and describes the style of Tantra she is knowledgeable in, and how it's origins differ from the more widely known Tantric practices. Alexa and Devi discuss the topic of tantra as a trend, and the dangers involved with how many inexperienced practitioners there are. She explains that in order to hold the space for someone to heal, you have a responsibility to be trained, qualified and experienced enough to provide that depth of healing. She also explains the importance of knowing your role, and being prepared with the right people on hand to help in any psychological capacity that may be needed. There's more to Tantra than a weekend seminar. Alexa asks Devi to describe what a session with her looks like, and what comes next is nothing short of beautiful. She describes the depth of connection that people reach just looking into each others eyes, and how heartbeats even synchronize. She also talks about how sex can be once those levels of connection are felt. Alexa relates back and talks about her experience with shallow encounters, and the different things she's been experiencing within her mind, body and sexuality as she grows as a person. Quotes “And the one thing I had never addressed was my sexuality, because I didn't think I needed to” Links “Tantra is a path to enlightenment” “It's not just sex, it's so much more” “Usually what they're yearning for is connection. That's the missing piece” “The key to great sex is being present in your body” If the person does not have a lineage, and does not have a teacher, then they're not practicing or teaching tantra” “It can be fun without connection, but it's so much better when there is” Links More Alexa www.thevioletbutterfly.com The Kaleidoscope
