Chris Chavez and Kyle Merber unpack all of the action from this weekend. We're talking about a nineteen-year-old freshman from BYU who just walked into the NCAA Indoor Championships and dismantled the field in not one but two distance events. A triple crown is complete for Habtom Samuel. A DQ controversy that had coaches filing protests and athletes biting their tongues. Sprint performances so fast they're rewriting the record books — again. And a 28-year-old Ethiopian woman who showed up to her first-ever marathon and basically said, ‘yeah, this is fine, I'll take second all-time.' Oh, and New York City threw the biggest half marathon in American history, and we somehow need to talk about Grant Fisher's debut...which, depending on who you ask, was either a totally reasonable first step or terrible. In this week's episode:– Intro & headlines– Habtom Samuel's triple crown is complete: men's 5,000m– DQ controversy: men's 3,000m– Jane Hedengren makes history: 3K & 5K double– Carter Cutting seizes the moment: men's mile– Back-to-back for Wilma Nielsen: women's mile– Chepngetich's redemption arc & Arkansas 1-2– Record night in the sprints: three collegiate records fall– Fotyen Tesfay: second-fastest women's marathon ever, on debut– NYC Half recap– Grant Fisher's NYC Half debut: hot takes and cooler heads– The Adeajah Hodge doping suspension explained____________Hosts: Chris Chavez | @chris_j_chavez + Kyle Merber | @kylemerberProduced by: Jasmine Fehr | @jasminefehr____________SUPPORT OUR SPONSORSOLIPOP: Olipop's Tropical Punch tastes like a vacation in a can. Most service businesses think they have a lead problem. But if your revenue slows the second you stop pushing, the issue isn't visibility. It's how your business is built. In this episode, I break down: – the difference between sales mode and business mode – why survival energy attracts survival buyers – how weak structure quietly lowers your standards – and why better clients require stability, not louder marketing If one slow month changes your pricing, boundaries, or negotiation power, this will hit.

This week on The Gaming Duo, Bungie's long-awaited extraction shooter Marathon has officially launched — and the internet already has strong opinions. We break down our first impressions of the gameplay, the day-one player numbers, and the microtransaction controversy that had the community up in arms. More importantly, Bungie responded within days with changes and fixes. Is that a good sign for the game's future, or is Marathon already fighting an uphill battle in a post-Concord world? Then we shift to a massive industry shake-up: Xbox has officially confirmed its next-gen console, Project Helix. The big twist? It reportedly runs Windows, supports Steam and other PC storefronts, and may blur the line between console and gaming PC entirely. Is this the bold reinvention Xbox needs, or proof that the traditional console model is changing? We also discuss:Whether Marathon's launch numbers are actually strongIf the extraction shooter market can support multiple big gamesWhat a Windows-powered Xbox means for the future of consolesEarly price predictions and concerns for Project HelixAll that plus our weekly gaming segment.

Nigel Baker: Why Scrum Masters Should Be Measured on Outcomes, Impacts, and Team Happiness Read the full Show Notes and search through the world's largest audio library on Agile and Scrum directly on the Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast website: http://bit.ly/SMTP_ShowNotes. "No customer's going to come to you and say, do you know why I bought your product? Your remarkable compliance with your internal development process. What they're interested in is outcomes and impacts." - Nigel Baker Nigel challenges the traditional ways of measuring Scrum Master success. He points to tools like the Nokia test—which, he jokes, was neither a test nor invented by Nokia—as examples of process fidelity assessments that miss the point entirely. Compliance with a process tells you nothing about whether customers are satisfied or whether the team is delivering value. Instead, Nigel argues for measuring Scrum Masters on outcomes and impacts: customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and efficiencies—the same things a Product Owner gets judged on. But he adds a crucial dimension that POs often overlook: team happiness. Not as an end goal, but as a leading indicator. Happy teams don't leave. Happy teams do better work. Team contentness is a KPI that signals whether the deeper success factors are in place. When your team is deeply unhappy, no amount of velocity or story completion will save you from attrition and decline. Self-reflection Question: How are you currently measuring your success as a Scrum Master—on process compliance, or on the outcomes, impacts, and wellbeing your team actually delivers? Featured Retrospective Format for the Week: Keep It Fresh—A Different Format Every Sprint Nigel's answer to the "favorite retrospective format" question is deliberately controversial: he doesn't have one. His approach is to use a different format every single sprint. Retrospective formats, he argues, "age like milk"—by Sprint 12, asking "what should we do differently?" with the same structure produces diminishing returns. Novelty creates energy. He sometimes gets teams to invent their own formats, which produces some of the most forensic and intense retrospectives he's seen—teams building "superweapons" and then realizing they have to turn those weapons on themselves. But Nigel's most practical tip is using retrospective techniques inside the Sprint Review. The Review is a product retrospective, and stakeholders shouldn't sit "like Roman emperors in the Colosseum, watching the developers as gladiators." Instead, use facilitation methods to extract "sweet, juicy, honey-flavoured feedback" from stakeholders about what they'd change in the product. [The Scrum Master Toolbox Podcast Recommends]

One of the hardest transitions you will ever make is moving from employee to entrepreneur. As an employee, you associate effort with compensation. You complete tasks, you receive a paycheck. In business, you can work intensely for weeks and see little to no financial return at first. When you apply the 80/20 rule, you can spend a significant amount of time on low-impact tasks during the day and still feel productive, but that does not necessarily mean they give results. In this episode of Diamond Life Mentor Uncut, Balazs W Kardos discusses the 80/20 principle in building an organization and how it influences your compensation structure while supporting your team's growth. You will hear powerful insights and motivation around:Being your own bossThe Pareto Principle in businessSetting realistic expectations with your teamBirth of the "trifecta" in GPMApplying GPM's daily method of operationAttracting the right people to work with youAccording to Balazs, reviewing your week will reveal that a portion of your activities actually generate revenue. The same principle applies to people. A few individuals will generate most of the sales, lead most of the calls, and influence the most growth. When you identify who those contributors are, you can invest in them intentionally. Units move numbers. People move networks. If your metrics show strong volume but your number of engaged builders is limited, your leverage is narrower than it appears. So you train them, support them, and help them duplicate. That is how you create momentum to reach your goals."It's the repetition. It's the act of real people, real conversations, and getting very familiar and comfortable with being a consultant who can help people solve their problems. We are really professional problem solvers. When did you last sprint? Graham Tuttle is a coach, author, and creator known as The Barefoot Sprinter, specializing in helping people overcome pain and reclaim their ability to sprint. In this episode, Graham breaks down why sprinting is the most essential human movement, how fear and modern footwear have quietly eroded your athleticism, and why sprinting barefoot might be the fastest path back to feeling fully alive.
The Most Underrated Advantage of Short Sprints - Mike CohnA recent Gallup survey found that 80% of employees who received meaningful feedback in the past week are engaged at work. For comparison, Gallup's overall engagement numbers are often around 30%.That's a striking gap.It suggests something many leaders overlook: performance may depend less on changing team structure and more on improving feedback inside the structure you already have. When results lag, organizations often reach for the org chart. They reorganize teams, redraw reporting lines, or debate how many teams a coach or Scrum Master should work with.Sometimes those changes help. But they rarely go far if feedback is infrequent, unclear, or missing altogether.Feedback isn't just a management technique. It's a strategic advantage. And agile teams have been building that advantage into the way they work for years. When people talk about one- or two-week sprints, they usually focus on speed. “We need to move faster.”“We need more output.”“We need shorter release cycles.”But speed isn't the real advantage of short sprints. The advantage is shortening the time between action and learning.A sprint isn't a delivery cycle. It's a feedback cycle. Each sprint gives a team a natural point to stop and ask: Did we build the right thing?Did we misunderstand the need? Are we still aligned with stakeholders? Are we learning what we hoped to learn? The shorter the sprint, the shorter the gap between assumption and validation. That's not about velocity. That's about reducing risk. Early Scrum teams often worked like this:Sprint, sprint, sprint… then release. That pattern made sense at the time in the 1990s and early 2000s. It was a huge improvement over what had come before. But it meant some feedback arrived in a big, delayed batch after the release.Over time, many teams evolved to:Sprint, release, sprint, release. And today, many modern teams have gone further still. They release whenever it makes sense—sometimes multiple times per sprint, sometimes many times per day.In other words, modern agile teams have largely decoupled sprints from releases. So if sprints aren't primarily about shipping anymore, what are they for?Sprints provide a reliable cadence for feedback and alignment—even when delivery happens continuously. Many organizations treat the Sprint Review as a demo. It's not. It's where reality gets a vote. The Sprint Review is where the team inspects what was built with the people who care about it, and adjusts course based on what they learn. When that meeting becomes optional, rushed, or performative, you don't just lose a ceremony. You lose your learning loop. And you start optimizing for finishing work instead of finishing the right work.If weekly feedback really is one of the biggest drivers of engagement and performance—as Gallup's numbers suggest—then the Sprint Review isn't overhead. It's how you reduce rework, prevent expensive surprises, and stay aligned with what actually matters. Of course, simply running one-week sprints doesn't guarantee meaningful feedback.Stakeholders can skip reviews.Teams can ignore input. The conversation can stay superficial.Short cycles create the opportunity for feedback. Leaders decide whether to use it.That's where the advantage lives. If you're running one- or two-week sprints, ask yourself:Are we using sprints as delivery deadlines—or as learning deadlines?Because the real power of agile isn't producing more every two weeks. It's learning more every two weeks. And that's a competitive advantage that will help you succeed with agile,How to connect with AgileDad:- [website] https://www.agiledad.com/- [instagram] https://www.instagram.com/agile_coach/- [facebook] https://www.facebook.com/RealAgileDad/- [Linkedin] https://www.linkedin.com/in/leehenson/

In this episode of In Demand, Asia and Kim break down what value decline is, how it silently erodes net revenue retention, and why many SaaS companies are unknowingly creating long-term churn. They explore the forces that drive declining value, including market shifts, competitive moves, and self-imposed product constraints. If your NRR is stuck below 80 percent, or if growth feels harder than it should, this episode will help you diagnose whether value decline is the hidden culprit. Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Read more about Project23 and partner with us as we teach every verse of the Bible on video. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. We don't flirt with fire. We don't negotiate with danger. And when it comes to sexual sin, Paul gives only one command: Run. Sprint. Get out fast. Not because you're weak—but because you know what's at stake. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. — 1 Corinthians 6:18–20 Paul doesn't tell you to manage sexual sin. He doesn't tell you to reason with it. He doesn't even tell you to pray near it. He tells you to flee. Why? Because sexual sin cuts deeper. It reshapes your desires. It wounds your soul. It touches the very place where God dwells. And then Paul gives the identity anchor that makes the command make sense: You. Are. Bought. Bought with blood. Bought at full price. Bought out of slavery. Bought into freedom. Jesus didn't shed discount blood to redeem you into discount living. That's why Paul's logic is so sharp: If Christ paid full price, stop selling yourself at bargain rates. You don't belong to sin anymore. You don't belong to your impulses. You don't belong to your past desires. You belong to Christ. And belonging determines behavior. This is why fleeing isn't cowardice—it's courage. It's saying: "I know my worth. I know my calling. I know my Redeemer. I know who paid for me." Every step away from sin is a step toward the Savior who bought you. Every act of fleeing is an act of worship. So glorify God in your body. Run like someone who knows what they're worth. Run like someone who has been bought with priceless blood, not discount blood. DO THIS: Choose one practical step to "flee": delete an app, cut off a pathway to sin, confess to a trusted believer, or move physically away from a tempting environment. ASK THIS: Where have I tried to manage sin instead of fleeing from it? What "bargain-rate" lies have convinced me my body is mine to use however I want? How does remembering the price Jesus paid reshape how I treat my body? PRAY THIS: Father, thank You for buying me at the highest cost. Help me flee what destroys my soul and run toward the One who redeemed me. Strengthen my mind, guard my desires, and make my body a place that honors You. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Jesus Paid It All"

"I could do this myself." Most people hiring a service are not lost. They're just tired of dragging the same thing around for weeks, reopening it at night, rewriting it, second-guessing it, and letting it steal attention from the work that actually brings money in. This episode is about the real cost of doing it yourself, and why people hire when they technically could do it, they just don't want to keep paying with time, energy, and momentum. I'm Veronica Di Polo, a marketing + messaging consultant based in Moraira, Spain. I help service businesses get chosen faster by fixing the words that make buyers hesitate.

When considering launching a company, narrowing a niche, or changing direction, the mind immediately jumps to potential loss. What if revenue drops? What if it fails? What if people judge me? Fear emphasizes the downsides. But there is another calculation. What is the cost of not acting? That is the opportunity cost. It is the invisible invoice attached to inaction. It is the gap between the life you could have built and the one you drifted into. To understand it, you must create contrast. Picture the unfavorable outcome if you take a risk, then deliberately imagine the most extraordinary scenario if it succeeds? That creates clarity. In this Diamond Life Mentor Uncut episode, Balazs W Kardos shares the hidden price of settling for what is good enough, which keeps you stuck. You will hear powerful insights and motivation around:Understanding opportunity costChoosing a specific demographicImplementing a reward systemCreating urgency and value in sales callsEncouraging participation and implementation in the teamBalazs wants you to envision your life twenty years from now, where you postponed the business and never narrowed your niche.Feel its consequences, and return to today with new awareness. Most people refuse to regret, but leaders like you should use it as fuel. By experiencing the future you do not want, you sharpen your commitment to a different path. You could spend a year exploring six or eight health-related professions, building assets for each, and letting them compound online. That is one approach. But what is stronger is when you connect with it most deeply, validate the model there, and refine it until it works consistently. Once you have clarity in positioning, that becomes your leverage in business."So if you kind of layer these specific big life pieces on top of each other, and then you come up with the hook, angle, pain, and opportunity cost for that specific five-year window with that specific life and personal goal, all on top of each other, then you create the content or the ads for them, and they will feel seen and understood." - Balazs W KardosIf this hit a nerve, don't ignore it.
