Do you still treat onboarding as an afterthought, even though it sets the tone for long-term success in your agency? It's time to rethink your onboarding. In this episode of The Agency Blueprint, we discuss why rushed and inconsistent onboarding not only undermines team confidence but also becomes a bottleneck to scale. We also discuss the five non-negotiables framework, a repeatable, role-based onboarding strategy that ensures transparency, accountability, and competence. Don't miss this episode to learn how intentional onboarding builds confidence, speeds ramp-up time, and creates a resilient team foundation! Key Questions: [01:26] Have you observed new hires forgetting critical information or making repetitive mistakes? [03:55] Have you ever thought about how much your turnover is costing you? [08:37] Do you have clear metrics for new hire progress, or are milestones vague and frustrating? [15:14] Are you documenting your trainings and FAQs in a way that allows new hires to self-reference instead of interrupting your workflow? What You'll Discover: [01:52] How rapid-fire training during high-anxiety periods leads to forgetting 70 % of key information, a recipe for mistakes. [04:21] Why onboarding must include introductions, role clarity, and integration with your team's culture. [07:45] The “five non-negotiables” framework per role as the foundation for repeatable onboarding. [08:37] A weekly rollout plan: training, dry runs, shadowing, then full live execution—designed for safe skill building. [11:23] How a roadmap with clear timing expectations empowers new hires to own their progress and ask for help at the right time. [13:43] Understand that even top-performing hires benefit from being slowed down during onboarding. [15:14] The importance of investing in recording training, creating SOPs, and building sandboxes for new hires. [16:57] Onboarding is a serious investment, and doing the hard work upfront gives your hires the tools they need to perform. [19:06] Understand that strong onboarding systems reduce team dependency and build cross-team confidence and clarity.

Will key Seahawks players in their second year experience a jump, slump, or stay about the same? We review our analysis from the 2024 season and look ahead to 2025 as our Seahawks gear up for the new season. We also speculate on the possible second-year leap of head coach Mike McDonald and what it means for the team overall. Could Byron Murphy be poised for a second-year jump, or will the absence of a true nose tackle hinder his ability to make the leap in year two? The Seahawks are also going to be counting on Tyrice Knight and his development. If he slumps, there is not a lot of high-end depth to pick up the slack. Support the show Get in the Flock! Today's guest is Dr. Michael Schofield. Mike is a New Zealand sports scientist and track and field coach with a PhD in biomechanics and strength and conditioning. He has coached athletes to Olympic, World Championship, and Commonwealth Games finals in the throws, while also developing national-level sprinters and weightlifters. His strength and conditioning work spans multiple sports, from golf to stand-up paddleboarding. Mike has done substantial research in, and is a subject matter expert in the role of connective tissues in athletic movement and force production. This podcast explores the crucial functions of connective tissue in athletic performance. We examine how tendons, ligaments, and fascia support movement, prevent injuries, and contribute to force production. Mike also disperses exactly what fascia and connective tissue does, and does not do in animal (and human) movement profiles. Through the podcast, Mike reveals the mechanisms of connective tissue and how understanding it can improve training outcomes. Today's episode is brought to you by Hammer Strength. Actionable Takeaways: Treat connective tissue as a system that adapts to training, not just something that “holds things together.” Prioritize training methods that build elasticity and responsiveness, not just muscle strength. Recognize that resilience often depends on connective tissue health more than raw muscular output. 5:27 – Exploring Elasticity in Motion Key Idea: Elasticity allows athletes to move with efficiency and rhythm, reducing the need for constant muscular effort. Actionable Takeaways: Integrate bouncing, skipping, and plyometric variations to sharpen elastic return. Train for rhythm and timing, not just force—elastic qualities emerge from how energy is recycled. Monitor whether athletes rely too much on muscle and not enough on elastic recoil. 7:25 – Muscle vs. Fascia: A Complex Debate Key Idea: Muscles and fascia work together, but fascia often dictates how well force is transmitted through the body. Actionable Takeaways: Don't train muscle in isolation—consider the connective tissue pathways that carry the load. Include multi-planar, whole-chain exercises that respect how fascia links segments. Shift perspective: strength is more than hypertrophy; it's about integration across systems. 16:14 – Understanding Strength and Sequencing Key Idea: True strength is about sequencing—how joints, tissues, and muscles fire in the right order. Heavy lifting too soon can actually disrupt this process. Actionable Takeaways: Build foundational movement skill before layering on maximal loads. Use exercises that emphasize timing and rhythm, not just raw output. Ask: is this athlete strong because they're sequenced, or are they muscling through inefficiency? 23:49 – The Importance of Movement Literacy Key Idea: Movement literacy—the ability to explore, coordinate, and adapt—is a prerequisite for higher-level strength. Actionable Takeaways: Encourage athletes to explore different movement tasks, not just rehearsed drills.
“Can't I just add a couple of exercises to my keynote and create a killer training program?” Over the past two decades, Darren and Mark have heard that question numerous times, and the short answer is “No.” Today, they get comprehensive answers from their fellow World Champion and Certified Speaking Professional, Ed Tate...the trainer's trainer. Not only do they discuss the differences between speaking and training, but they also delve into the mindset and methods that will help you deliver unforgettable training. Episode 3717: Nir Eyal and Charles Wang explore the surprising value of embracing the mindset of an amateur rather than striving for rigid expertise. By focusing on curiosity, experimentation, and playfulness, we stay adaptable, avoid burnout, and discover deeper joy in learning. This approach invites growth by valuing exploration over perfection. Read along with the original article(s) here: https://www.nirandfar.com/train-to-be-amateur-not-expert/ Quotes to ponder: "An amateur is someone who does something because they love it." "Experts often feel the need to defend their knowledge and authority, while amateurs are open to questioning and rethinking what they know." "When we give ourselves permission to be amateurs, we free ourselves to learn without fear of failure." The Seahawks initial 53-man roster for the 2025 season was announced on Tuesday. The Seahawks kepts six wide receivers, but still moved on from a veteran addition. Was it a $3 million mistake? The Seahawks also kept four tight ends. Or is it six tight ends? What do all these receiving options mean? Plus, we take a look at the defense where at least one veteran name is absent and a pre-season favorite was cut. A defensive player from the Pete Carroll era made the final 53 and we argue about the over/under for the number of snaps D'Anthony Bell will play in the first three games of the season. Episode Summary As we step into the last four months of the year, I want to pause and ask you a pivotal question: Have you truly made the mindset shifts required to elevate as a leader? In this throwback episode, I revisit eight powerful mindset shifts that have shaped my journey as a seven-figure entrepreneur, author, and coach. These aren't just concepts—they're daily disciplines and decisions that determine how you show up, how you lead, and how you grow. Whether your next level means scaling your business, reclaiming your time, or prioritizing your health, these shifts will challenge you to reflect, reframe, and recommit. Success is never just about strategy—it's about who you become in the process. Key Takeaways Stop waiting for permission. You don't need anyone else to validate your vision. If the idea is in you, it's possible. Think for yourself. Guidance is valuable, but thought leadership requires you to own your ideas and trust your creative instincts. Take imperfect action. Clarity comes through doing, not just planning. Adopt a growth mindset. Train yourself to seek opportunity in every obstacle. Make the time. Alignment requires the courage to say no to good things so you can say yes to the right things. Prioritize true self-care. Beyond surface-level maintenance, real self-care is managing stress, protecting your health, and building daily discipline. Surround yourself with positivity. Community matters—get in rooms and circles that stretch you. Commit to being a lifelong student. The moment you stop learning is the moment you stop leading. Memorable Quotes “Success is not about doing the thing—it's about who you become.” “Clarity doesn't come from thinking about it; it comes from doing the work.” “Every decision you make is either leading you to your goal or pulling you away from it.” “Stop asking for permission. If the idea is in you, it's possible.” Secure your spot for the Monetize Your Book Challenge (Sept 8 - Sept 12): Discover the secret to making sales before your expert book is published, with your book, and beyond your book- and leveraging your book to grow your business CLICK HERE TO REGISTER: www.monetizeyourbooknow.com Stay Connected with Me: Instagram: @thejasminewomack Facebook: @authorjasminewomack LinkedIn: @thejasminewomack YouTube: @thejasminewomack Website: www.jasminewomack.com Grab Your Copy: Published and Paid – Write, self-publish, and launch your nonfiction book in 90 days or less.Ready to get it done? Are you ready to unlock a leaner physique while still enjoying your favorite foods like pizza and tacos? What if I told you that less effort could lead to better fitness results? In this episode, I chat with Alex, who shares his path from professional baseball player to hedge fund analyst and entrepreneur. He reveals how he maintains a lean physique year-round without counting calories or going hungry. Alex explains that food serves as a love language, not just fuel, and how he makes minor adjustments to popular foods like burgers and fried chicken to make them protein-dominant. We discuss why pursuing strength and speed is more effective than high-volume workouts, which leads to a quicker metabolism. Alex also highlights the value of morning workouts for building confidence and managing stress, and he introduces his "Triple Seven Club" principle covering finances, fitness, and sleep. He shares how he improved his sleep by reducing stimulants and incorporating daily movement. This conversation is about unconventional methods that simplify success in health and life. Key Takeaways • We discuss how food is more than just fuel; it's a love language with cultural significance, and viewing it only as fuel often means missing these deeper societal underpinnings • I learned that training for strength and speed is more effective than high volume workouts focused on difficulty, as this approach increases your resting metabolic rate and helps you achieve better physique gains • Alex encourages getting addicted to getting 1% better each week in workouts. This consistent, small improvement compounds significantly over time, leading to excellent shape in one to two years. • We talk about the "Triple Seven Club": a philosophy centered on having seven figures liquid, being able to run a seven-minute mile, and sleeping seven hours per night. Achieving these three things typically leads to a very good mood and significantly improved quality of life Resources Follow Alex Feinberg on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alexfeinberg1/ Nate Palmer: The founder of The Million Dollar Body and author of "The Million Dollar Body Method", Nate has been coaching for over 15 years and has worked personally with over 1,000 clients.
