There are seasons in life when everything feels overwhelming — family struggles, financial pressures, illness, or work challenges. As our daily prayer and devotional remind us, in those moments, even getting out of bed can feel like too much. But God never intended for us to carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. Instead, He invites us to lean on Him, to trust Him fully, and to remember His goodness. Lynette Kittle encourages us that when life feels unbearable, we can take intentional steps to anchor ourselves in God’s truth: remembering His past faithfulness, staying persistent in prayer, feeding our souls with Scripture, and reaching out to encourage others. These small but powerful practices help lift our eyes off the heaviness and fix them back on the One who carries us. God’s Word promises that He is our Savior, our hope, and our strength. Even when life seems too hard, He is with us, sustaining us moment by moment. Your Daily Bible Reading: "Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God." – Psalm 43:5 Key Takeaways God never designed us to carry life’s burdens alone; He calls us to lean on Him. Remembering God’s past faithfulness builds hope for today. Prayer, even when it feels hard, keeps us connected to God’s strength. Scripture refreshes weary hearts with truth and perspective. Reaching out to others, even in our struggles, brings blessing and renewal. Let’s Pray Together Dear Father, thank You for being my Savior and my God. Although my body, mind, and heart feel weary, I choose to put my hope in You. Remind me of Your goodness and faithfulness. Strengthen me through prayer and Your Word, and help me to bless others even when I feel weak. Thank You that in You, I have hope and reason to praise. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Calls to Action Write down three ways God has been faithful to you and revisit the list when life feels heavy. Set aside 5 minutes today to pray, even if it feels hard. Start Your Transformation Now  In this episode of the Transform Your Life from the Inside Out podcast, Jim Fortin reveals a trait that rarely makes the “top 20 lists” of success skills but is, in reality, a game-changer: resourcefulness. Through powerful stories—from Tom Hanks' Castaway to entrepreneurs like Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, and Susie Batiz—Jim shows how resourcefulness, not resources, is what separates those who thrive from those who stay stuck.  Many people wait for the “perfect time” or for more money, connections, or opportunities to arrive. Jim challenges that mindset by making it clear: your life doesn't change when you get more resources; it changes when you choose to become more resourceful. Fear, excuses, and victimhood hold us back, but resourcefulness makes growth inevitable.  If you've ever felt like you don't have what it takes to move forward, this episode will give you the clarity and inspiration to figure it out, break free from resignation, and finally create what you want.  What You'll Discover in This Episode:  Why Resourcefulness Matters More Than Resources (06:17) Jim defines resourcefulness and explains why it is the foundation of real success.  Stories of Resourceful Entrepreneurs (08:00) How companies like Apple, Amazon, Subway, and Ring started with almost nothing but became billion-dollar brands.  The Role of Fear and Victim Mentality (14:29) Why fear keeps you powerless and why shifting to resourcefulness transforms everything.  Settling vs. Creating (18:00) How “agreeing” to your circumstances keeps you stuck—and how to stop settling.  The Subconscious Mind as a Tool (21:00) How engaging your subconscious mind can unlock answers and creative solutions.  Resourcefulness in Action (22:00) Jim's personal stories of becoming resourceful to create multimillion-dollar outcomes.  Listen, apply, and enjoy!  Transformational Takeaway  Resourcefulness is more important than resources. If you want more in life, you must figure it out, get creative, and choose action over excuses. If you refuse to become resourceful, you are in silent agreement with your current reality. The truth stings, but freedom comes when you own it—and then act.    Let's Connect:  Instagram | Facebook | YouTube | LinkedIn  LIKED THE EPISODE?  If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Every day brings choices — some small, some life-altering. In today's prayer and devotional, we remember that whether it’s navigating relationships, parenting, work, or personal growth, our need for God’s wisdom is constant. Wisdom is more than human intelligence or cleverness. It is discernment rooted in God’s will, applied through a humble heart that acknowledges His way is always better. Amanda Idleman reminds us that our natural instinct is to react emotionally or cling to control. But God’s wisdom invites us to pause, pray, and listen. His way looks beyond the moment and steers us toward goodness, mercy, and Spirit-led living. Seeking wisdom requires intentional rhythms — morning prayers, moments of worship, pauses in the middle of our busyness — that anchor us in His guidance. God promises that wisdom is His gift to those who ask (James 1:5). As we cultivate hearts that surrender and listen, we learn to discern His gentle nudges, recognize His peace, and walk confidently in His direction. Today's Bible Reading: "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." – Proverbs 2:6 Key Takeaways Wisdom is God’s gift, rooted in discernment and alignment with His purposes. Our way is often reactive, but God’s way sees the bigger picture. Building daily rhythms of prayer and Scripture helps us hear His guidance. God’s wisdom shapes not just our choices but also our character and faithfulness. Let’s Pray Together Father, I need You to help me know Your way and find Your path. I need Your wisdom for today’s decisions. Show me how to pause and listen for Your Spirit before I rush ahead. Forgive me for relying on my own pride and control. Teach me to live humbly, trusting Your way is better. Thank You for being faithful to provide wisdom for every circumstance. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Calls to Action Begin each day by asking God for wisdom before making decisions. Create small “holy pauses” throughout your day to re-center on God’s direction. Share this episode with someone facing a difficult choice and remind them of Proverbs 2:6. Subscribe to Your Daily Prayer for daily encouragement and prayer rooted in Scripture. Read along with the original article(s) here: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/life-insurance-for-young-adults/ Quotes to ponder: "Life insurance is very inexpensive, and even if you took out a small $50,000 to $100,000 policy, you would be paying less than 2 value meals at McDonald's a month for coverage." "If you want to save money on your monthly premiums, spend a couple months improving your health." "The younger you are, the lower your costs are going to be in paying for your life insurance." What if the chronic pain that's been ruling your life isn't actually about physical damage—but about your brain trying to protect you from threats it perceives based on your entire life history? Ashleigh Di Lello should be dead. At 13, doctors told her she wouldn't survive her teenage years after a mysterious viral infection began shutting down her organs. Twenty years later, after building a successful Broadway career, a failed hip surgery left her unable to walk and in excruciating pain that no treatment could touch…not even powerful opioids. After trying over 200 treatments and being told by specialists it was "downhill from here," Ashleigh made a decision that would revolutionize how we understand chronic pain. In this episode, we dive deep into a topic that's been both personal and transformative for me: the connection between pain and the brain. For years, I believed that pain was only the result of real, physical injuries. But after my own journey through back surgery and chronic pain, I started to question: what if our brains play a bigger role in how we experience pain than we realize? Discover why Type A personalities are more prone to chronic pain, how your brain actually gets BETTER at creating pain the more you experience it, and why doing everything "right" for your body might not be enough if your nervous system is stuck in survival mode. Ashleigh reveals the critical difference between regulating your nervous system (managing symptoms) versus rewiring it (changing how your brain processes pain entirely), and shares the exact paradigm shift that allowed her to walk again after five years of disability. Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, unexplained symptoms, or simply curious about the incredible power of the brain-body connection, this episode will fundamentally change how you think about healing.   Catch the full episode on YOUTUBE HERE: https://bit.ly/MidlifeConversationsYouTube    Learn More About Ashleigh Di Lello:    Instagram ➜ https://www.instagram.com/ashleighdilello  Website ➜  https://www.ashleydilello.com  Thank you to our show sponsors! Why does so much around us feel "vaguely familiar"? In this episode, we dive deep into the creative malaise of our overstimulated world—where endless scrolling, constant content, and a deluge of data make everything seem slightly derivative and uninspiring. We unpack the concept of “vague familiarity” and examine why our passion for novelty is constantly dulled by today's information overload. To help us cut through the noise, we're joined by Andrew Robertson, chairman of BBDO and author of The Creative Shift. Andrew brings decades of frontline experience in fighting creative sameness at one of the world's most successful advertising agencies. We explore the sometimes uneasy balance between operational excellence and breakthrough creativity, and how organizations can make space for real innovation without falling for surface-level quick fixes.Along the way, we break down actionable principles for reigniting creative excitement, including finding inspiration at the "edges," practicing attentional minimalism, and prioritizing productive passion over passive consumption. Andrew shares compelling stories—including how Delta Airlines redefined the passenger experience by rethinking the real source of travel stress—and reveals what it really takes to recognize a great idea (even in risk-averse environments).Five Key Learnings from this Episode:Rediscover the Edges: Creativity flourishes at the intersections and boundaries of different disciplines and domains. Stepping outside your usual circles—whether it's through new conversations or learning in unfamiliar fields—leads to fresh insights.Practice Attentional Minimalism: With relentless digital noise, deliberate focus and margin are essential. Setting boundaries around your inputs and carving out undistracted time helps you notice what truly matters.Pursue Productive Passion: Creative energy comes from making, not just consuming. Progress and intrinsic motivation fuel innovation more than passive amusement.Define the Real Problem: The most effective solutions come from unwillingness to leap immediately to action. Every creative breakthrough begins by deeply diagnosing the real challenge, even if sitting with ambiguity feels uncomfortable.Manage Risk—Don't Chase Certainty: Seeking certainty kills originality. Instead, smart creative leaders evaluate the downside, manage risk, and are willing to act without guarantees—knowing that bold ideas don't come with precedents.Get full interviews and bonus content for free! Welcome to the first week of the Gospel Spice Podcast's series, "Identity in the Battle," where we embark on a journey through the book of Ephesians. In this lesson, we'll dive into the heart of Ephesians chapter 1, focusing on what it means to have our identity rooted "in Christ." As we walk through Ephesians, we're encouraged to "taste and see that the Lord is good"—embracing the variety and richness that God offers. Overview of Ephesians Paul wrote the letter to the Ephesians while in prison around AD 60–62. The key purpose of this letter is to urge believers to walk as fruitful followers of Christ, serving in unity and love, particularly in challenging times. Paul's guidance in Ephesians is deeply relevant to our own spiritual journeys today. The book can be split into three main parts: Chapters 1–3: Who we are in Christ (our identity). Chapters 4–5: How to walk out our calling (practical Christian living). Chapter 6: How to face spiritual battles with the armor of God. Identity: In Christ, Adoption, and the Holy Spirit Paul uses the expression “in Christ” (or similar) ten times in the first fourteen verses of Ephesians. This repetition emphasizes that our identity is rooted not in our achievements, background, family, or appearance—but solely in who Jesus says we are. What matters is God's perspective of us, not the world or even those closest to us. Stephanie highlights that understanding our identity is a lifelong process, with four main steps: Discovery: Learn who God is, what He's done, who He says you are, and what He calls you to do. Acceptance: Move from mere head knowledge to heart-level acceptance. Truly taste and see that God is good. Transformation: Let your understanding of God begin to change you from the inside out—your thoughts, your self-image, and your relationships. Daily Living: Live in your new identity daily, relying on the Holy Spirit and the Christian community for support. Adoption into God's Family Paul employs the metaphor of adoption—a process which, in both Roman law and today, requires moving from one family to another, with full legal recognition and new rights. As Christians, we were once “children of wrath,” but God chose to bring us into His family, giving us full rights as His sons and daughters. This legal and spiritual transformation means that our old “family” (the world and sin) no longer defines us, and we now receive an eternal inheritance with Christ. The Holy Spirit: Our Seal and Guarantee Paul says we are “sealed by the Holy Spirit,” who is the guarantee of our inheritance. This sealing means we belong to God forever, and the Spirit empowers us to live out our new identity and purpose. Application and Encouragement As new members of God's family, we are called to let go of old habits and embrace the rights, intimacy, and inheritance God offers us in Christ. This transformation is possible because of the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, who assures us that we are deeply loved, accepted, and called. Take time this week to reflect on these truths. Discover, accept, and step into your identity in Christ—chosen, adopted, and sealed for a purpose far greater than you ever imagined. Discussion Questions: What does it mean to you to be “in Christ”? How does understanding spiritual adoption change how you see yourself? In what ways do you need to daily embrace your new identity and release your old one? Gospel Spice exists to inspire our generation to delight in God. We do this through the podcast, online Bible studies, leadership trainings, and more. We want to serve Christ-followers who seek to live a life spiced with the gospel. We want to love God, because He first loved us. We want to experience the fullness of life with Him—and not be content with stale, boring, leftover faith. Jesus tells us that the most important thing is to love the Lord our God, so we take Him seriously. He adds that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. Now, there are many ways to do that, but I have always personally felt deep compassion for victims of human trafficking – it is modern day slavery, and it revolts the heart of God. And so, they are our particular neighbors here at Gospel Spice. We want to play our part in raising awareness and then financially supporting those who fight this great evil.   Now we would love to invite you to join the team in one of three ways: 1, pray Gospel Spice forward – pray for our guests, our listeners and participants, and for us too! 2, play Gospel Spice forward by telling your friends about us, and by please leaving positive reviews and comments on your podcast listening app; and 3rd, PAY GospelSpice forward. Less than 1% of our listeners are supporting us financially. We need your help! Please pay Gospel Spice forward today. It can be a one-time donation, or a monthly one, for the amount of your choice. Your donation is fully tax-deductible in the US. Plus, once we cover our costs, a significant portion of your donation will be given back to Christian organizations that fight human trafficking, and that we vet thoroughly. So, you can know that every dime you give is used for the Kingdom of God. Every little bit helps. So, be part of the spice of the gospel by becoming a financial partner today! You are invited to join us on the Gospel Spice Prayer Bible Study, titled "The heart behind prayer" starting September 20, 2025! Details and registration here: https://www.gospelspice.com/prayer  There are a few things in our Christian life that we know we should do more, or at least better – and prayer just might top the list. Prayer is a mystery. Why would a conversation with a human have any influence on God's eternal, sovereign plan? It defies logic, and beckons love. How can God, the Almighty Lord of Hosts, be this close, this personal? It defies understanding, and beckons involvement. But, lack of time, inspiration, and discipline, combined with the ruthless tyranny of our busy lives, push prayer to the periphery, to the “one day I'll get to it” pile. And yet, we can excel at what we endeavor to undertake. So, why isn't prayer more of a spiritual priority? Could we develop a mindset around prayer that made it attractive, inspiring, even maybe delightful? What if we attuned our spiritual ears to listen to God, and our spiritual eyes to see His provision? As an unassuming student, I'm going to humbly offer to share the little I have learned from others about the joy of prayer. I will give us theology, practical tips, and useful resources, sharing what works for me as we, together, learn to pray. If you find prayer intimidating, or if your lack of prayer makes you feel guilty or “less than,” then this is the place for you! If you have been a student of prayer for many years, this is the place for you too! If you have breath in your lungs, then prayer can become one of the deepest joys of your day. Don't miss out! A PERSPECTIVE ABOUT PRAYER To pray is to believe that God not only hears, but that He responds. It is to stand in the gap for a broken world, wielding the authority of Christ, empowered by the Spirit, and trusting in the goodness of the Father. The question is not whether prayer works, but whether we are willing to pray the kinds of prayers that invite God's Kingdom into the darkest places of the earth—and of our own hearts. We may never fully understand the mechanics of prayer, or how it intersects with God's sovereignty, but we are not called to understand everything. We are called to be faithful. And faithfulness means showing up—in prayer, in persistence, in expectation. So today, let us pray not only for the comfort of our hearts, but for the transformation of the world. Let us take our place as image-bearers, co-laborers, and co-heirs. Let us believe that God is still listening—and still acting. Because He is. There's only one way to find out what might happen when we truly pray like this. Let's begin. THE MINDSET BEHIND THIS COURSE Before we begin, let me tell you the obvious: I don't really know how to pray. I'm a humble student and absolute beginner at the holy endeavor that is prayer. So, this course isn't really about what I've learned, or any wisdom I might have gathered. But, I've sat at the feet of many prayer warriors over the decades, through books and teachings. So, I'll share what I learned from them. Humility is going to be our primary heart posture! With each lesson, I will offer a few thoughts, practices, and ideas – with much humility, and not taking myself too seriously. I will also share her favorite books and resources about prayer. FInally, I will introduce you to some of the most influential prayer warriors of our history as the Body of Christ. Most importantly, I will invite YOU to pray! Learning to pray comes from praying. Our humble ambition is to inspire you to pray, and to give you a few tips on how to do that. Then, it's up to you! Prayer is a lifelong endeavor. Let's make it delightful together!      Today I'm speaking with Seth Quig. Seth is a seasoned outdoor professional with over two decades of experience in outdoor education and international adventure travel. Facebook   Twitter   Instagram Love the show? Subscribe,  rate, review, and share! I didn't pay rent for nearly 10 years. Seriously. I was either crashing in guard houses, sleeping in a tent, or living out of my truck between Idaho and Baja. Some might call it dirtbagging—I call it my MBA in life. Back then, my “home” was wherever the river ran or the mountain rose. I wasn't building a business. I wasn't even thinking about one. I was chasing adventure, guiding people through whitewater and Himalayan passes. But somewhere between the third trip up Kilimanjaro and watching bulldozers drop boulders into a rapid I was about to run… I realized something. Adventure wasn't the goal. It was the vehicle. A vehicle for connection. For transformation. For pushing people out of comfort and into character. PRINCIPLE: If you want to create something meaningful in the outdoor industry—or in life—you've got to stop thinking of adventure as the destination. It's the doorway. The best guides (and entrepreneurs) don't just lead people outside. They lead them into themselves. And to do that, you don't need perfect branding or a 10-step funnel. You need to understand people, risk, fear, group dynamics—and how to hold space when someone's terrified of peeing in a Porta-Potty. TRANSITION: But most aspiring adventure entrepreneurs never make it to that level. They get stuck thinking passion is enough. That loving nature or guiding people qualifies you to build a sustainable business. But loving rivers doesn't teach you finance. Running the Inca Trail doesn't show you how to manage a team, onboard a client, or navigate a cultural crisis in Kathmandu. So what happens? Burnout. Disconnection. Businesses that are all sizzle, no soul. THAT'S WHY: That's why this episode with Seth Quig isn't just about whitewater and trekking tales. It's a masterclass in what it really takes to make a living in adventure travel today. We're talking risk, realism, radical honesty—and how to build a business that doesn't just profit, but gives back. CALL TO ACTION: Tired of feeling like your passion for the outdoors isn't enough to build the career you want? That's because it isn't—not without the right mindset and mentorship. Discover what most outdoor pros get wrong and how to flip the script. Listen to this episode now and find the trailhead to a better business.

Your Biggest Battle Is Not With Your Body

Heather speaks into the aftermath of last week’s tragic events to address how these unsettling times can actually serve as a wake-up call for Christian women struggling with body image and comparison. Instead of focusing on the headlines, Heather invites listeners to examine what we’re really battling daily. She explores the big idea that our struggle isn’t with the scale, the mirror, or even other women—it’s a spiritual battle, not “against flesh and blood,” as Ephesians 6:12 says. Heather shares a relatable story about getting a speeding ticket (and her less-than-humble reaction!) as an illustration of the subtle ways pride and self-focus sneak in, keeping us distracted from what God is calling us to. Here are some references & main themes: The assassination of Charlie Kirk: Not the main focus of the episode, but this tragic event is used as context for discussing spiritual wake-up calls and living boldly for Jesus. Us vs. them mentality: How cultural polarization and volatility can lead to numbness or withdrawal, even from our spiritual callings. Spiritual battle vs. physical struggle: Using Ephesians 6:12, Heather emphasizes we need to recognize the spiritual nature of our struggles—especially with body image, insecurity, and comparison. Armor of God (Ephesians 6): Are you more worried about what you wear or making sure you have the armor of God on? The lie of “my truth” vs. God’s truth: Heather draws from the cultural trend of embracing “my truth” and contrasts it with God’s truth, especially in how we view ourselves and our worth. Pride and self-righteousness: Illustrated through her personal speeding ticket story, reminding us how quickly we default to excusing ourselves and judging others. Encouragement for action: Rather than “doing more” or “trying harder,” Heather invites listeners to actually follow Jesus, not just fit Him into their goals and plans. Overcoming shame and guilt: She warns listeners not to get caught in the enemy’s trap of shame for not being "further along" in their spiritual walk, and instead to run toward Jesus, the light, and real security. Programs and Resources Mentioned: 40-Day Journey: Starts October 1st, with groups beginning October 7th. Details at improvebodyimage.com or directly at: https://www.improvebodyimage.com/40-day-challenge Body Image Freedom Framework: Heather’s online course for deeper freedom in the areas discussed in the episode. Coaching and community offerings: Here are links to programs designed to equip women for the real battle. Questions to Reflect On: Which “battle” am I spending most of my time and energy on each day? How does believing my own truth about my body or worth keep me from living in God’s truth? Am I taking Jesus along for my ride, or am I letting Him lead? Final encouragement: Heather calls listeners to reject shame, fight the real battle, and let their light shine for Christ. She challenges us to think about how we will be remembered—not as women obsessed with their image, but as those unafraid to shine the light of Jesus. For more: Listen to this episode for Heather’s personal stories, practical encouragement, and a heartfelt call to step out of comparison and into true freedom. Most coaches think scaling is about finding the perfect funnel, running the right ads, or tweaking their webinar script until it's flawless.
