From a Christian standpoint, they may never forgive a perpetrator, but self forgiveness for healing is absolutely essential, and it opens them up to receiving God's forgiveness. God has forgiven us, but sometimes we have to dare to forgive God for not being who we wanted God to be. Where was God in the midst of what I went through, right? Right. And that, and I told them, I said when we do this, when we use this prayer technique, that's the very first question I want you to ask him. And I want you to sit expecting an answer. And it's amazing. God, in all the years I've been using this model, God has never not shown up and has never not answered. Oh, that's powerful. Today, I'm going to teach you all about the Green Cross Code of Trading. Let's get into that animal right now. Hi there, Forex Traders! Andrew Mitchem here at The Forex Trading Coach with video and podcast number 548. Learning to cross the road safely. Do you remember when you were a kid? You were learning at school to cross the road? Or if you're riding a bike, they taught you how to stop a crossing and then cross the road safely. It's something I never forgotten. And as a kid walking around towns or riding your bike, it kept you safe. The rules of the Green Cross Code. What they taught you is, number one, look all around. Number two, look to the right. Then look to the left. And then look to the right. And if it was safe and clear, then cross. And it was a very simple but effective way. And here we are, some sort of 45, 50 years later, I still remember very well. Live Webinar with my clients. Now, the funny story was that last night I was holding a live 2 hour webinar with my client. We took five trades live on the session and when we were looking at trades, I actually said, Look, you need to look right, then left. And it brought me back to my childhood. I thought Green Cross Code And in trading it's really important that one, you keep things simple, but also you do look right and left. Let me explain. The Green Cross Code of Trading. Overall, we look at the chart. We look at the pattern where the pattern is within the chart. Is there room to move? Is it in the right place? All those type of things. So first of all, we had our candle pattern. We were taking a sell trade yesterday and then I look to the right. The reason I looked to the right was the candle itself have bounce at a round number. So that's our first or second thing. First of all, we look overall, then we go right. Then we went left and we took the chart and we said, where this price at best, which was the round number to the right. When we went to the left, we saw that some candles prior the price and who had also passed at exactly that level. And when it bounced and hit that level, it then dropped. So now the price to come back up to that same level, we look right, saw the right number left, saw the previous resistance and bounce level. There's our overall view. Look right, look left. We then look right again when it came to actually looking for our entry and our stop loss and our profit target levels. Are there any other significant levels in the way? Can we have the pivot point to help us? Do we have any round numbers to protect our stop loss or making sure added our profit target on the sell trade before any round numbers? So think of your trading as you would walking across the road or learning to do that. Or if you've got kids, how to teach them to do it safely. Obviously on a road, it keeps us safe. If you do it in trading, it keeps you safe, but in a different way. It helps you to have high probability trades and it helps you to keep on the right side of the market. More often than not. So think about the green cross code. Look overall, look right, left, look right again. And that will massively help you in your trading. My 17 minutes Masterclass and Book a Call. Elsewhere. If you've not been on my masterclass session,

This episode is all about roll-ups – and we're not talking about the fruit snacks you had in your lunch box as a kid. No, we're talking about rolling up SMBs. You know the playbook: Buy a bunch of small businesses, whack them together, take it public and make a tonne of money. I've been feeling the itch to do some rolling up myself. And this pod, I scratch that itch with the great Dr Glen Richards, Australia's king of the roll-up. You know Glen. He's the founder of Greencross Vets, a roll-up of vet clinics, and a chairman of Healthia, a health care roll-up. He's also a director of a bunch of companies, which I'll let him share with you. Glen's also a Shark… yep, you might also recognise him from his time as a panelist and investor on Shark Tank.Roll-ups might sound easy (and delicious) – but as Glen explains this episode, getting it right is actually harder than you think.Alright, let's get into it.Links:Keep up with Glen Richards on LinkedIn.Subscribe to Stark Naked Numbers on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher or wherever you get your pods. The Sunday World apologisesMy case had to do with an article in the Sunday World in September 2015.. For me this was always about asserting my own integrity and I think the case succeeded in that. It is my intention to donate the proceeds of the settlement to good causes. These will include the Irish language sector, Green Cross, The Bobby Sands Trust, The Moore Street Preservation Trust, the homeless and other projects that I have a grá for. Eradicating PovertyIn my view we will not eradicate poverty in Ireland while we are governed by Tories in Dublin and London. Of course we need to keep trying to alleviate hardship and we need to support measures to give people economic rights even though our country is partitioned. But when we end partition and have our own national democracy and the opportunity for a real republic then the struggle enters another phase.Lá breithe TG4.I don't watch television that often but when I do TG4 is usually my first choice. It has everything. Its an Irish language channel. THE Irish langgusge channel. Great music. Sport. It's GAA coverage is first class. News. History. Culture. Documentaries, drama, programmes for children and much more. Its series of films telling the stories of the 1916 leaders are among the best ever produced.

“I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, most of which never happened.” Mark Twain In episode 49 we dissected one of the biggest fears that many vets have: the fear of an official board complaint, from the perspective of a practitioner facing a complaint against them. In this episode, we look at the same issue from the side of the official body that deals with complaints. I'm a firm believer that the more we know about the things that we fear, the less scary they become, so let's face this one together Drs. Kate Clarke and Magdoline Awad are vets with experience serving on vet boards. They join us to answer all of our questions about board complaints - like how likely is it happen in the average career, what the most common complaints are, what the process looks like if you do have one lodged against you, as well as practical tips for avoiding them in the first place. Kate and Mags also walk us through all the possible outcomes, in other words - what's the worst that can happen, but then - what is the much more LIKELY to happen. Kate has over 20 years experience as a GP vet in regional Australia and the UK, with membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine and a Master's degree in Business Administration. In addition to her role on Victoria's Vet Board, she's also the founding director of Engaged Solutions, a veterinary HR consultancy, and serves on the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council's Sustainable Practice Committee. She's an AVA graduate mentor and a Policy Council Advisor for the AVA's Veterinary Business Group, tasked with developing the AVA Great Workplaces Policy, and is also leading the development of a new not-for-profit called Sustainable Veterinary Careers. Somewhere in between all of that Kate also has a veterinarian husband and two teenage kids. Have your say at https://sustainableveterinarycareers.org by completing the survey. Mags is Chief Veterinary Officer at Greencross. (https://www.greencrossvets.com.au/) She did her memberships in animal welfare and has a degree in Veterinary Professional Practice Management. She was appointed to the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW in 2019, and is a member of the UNSW Animal Care and Ethics Committee and is the NSW representative for the AVA Welfare and Ethics special interest group. Between 2008-2015 Mags was Chief Veterinarian at RSPCA NSW, after starting with the organisation in 1996. She's also been involved in the development and management of community programs in remote regional areas of NSW, working with local veterinarians and government to improve the welfare of pets in those communities. Fred Matser is the Founder of the Fred Foundation and has been professionally helping others for over 40 years. We look back at his work and talk about his documentary 'Beyond Me'. You can watch Fred's documentary and find out more about his book here: https://www.beyondmedocumentary.org/en/ Guest Introduction: Fred has made it his life's work to help. Over the past 40 years he has been involved in helping people grow their projects, organisations, initiatives and social impact companies to change this world for the better. Healthcare, Education, Environment, Climate Change, Peace Building – there is no subject that Fred and his organisation the Fred Foundation have not touched. And the list of those he has supported throughout the years is endless Mentioning all of their names (Red Cross, Jane Goodall Institute, Malaria No More, The Chopra Foundation, Green Cross, WNF and hundreds, hundreds more) would take us a podcast in and of itself. So we won't do that. What I find more fascinating is how Fred helps . Because when you take a closer look at all the beautiful things that have come into existence because of Fred Matser, I see one thing clearly come to the forefront: Personal Ignition. Fred's support (financial, advisory and operational) allows great social entrepreneurs not only to start building on their ideas but also ensures that they will thrive and become sustainable. The Fred Foundation does not only look at the ideas but also clearly at the person who has them and how he/she should be assisted to thrive. Understanding the person is core to Fred's approach and philosophy. Even though you will always discover elements of Fred's business background, running one of the biggest commercial real estate development companies in the Netherlands, he will make it a priority to genuinely get to know the person. It is almost like that through helping, Fred is on a quest to understand us human beings in the most profound sense of the word. And I am so happy that after 40 years of practical research he has now made it a priority to share many of his observations to ensure that any support, assistance or aid will have genuine long lasting effects. “Let's try to compare with care in order to share with care“ - he says in the beautifully made documentaryBeyond Me that was launched just last May. I have the great privilege of knowing Fred already for more than a decade and have to say that engaging and debating with him is an exceptional experience and a beautiful journey. Many have praised Fred but I think the former Soviet leader Mihail Gorbachev says it the best and the simplest when saying that: “Fred is a man with a big and open heart. He is making the world better” Fred welcome!

It is my great privilege to have met many fine women and men over the years. The Léargas series of books is a record of some of these I came to know or to know of along life's journey. It is very personal to me.This week I published the latest of these. The seventh book in the series is titled; ‘Kathleen Thompson – Up The Republic, She Raised The Battle Cry'. It is a tribute to my good friend Kathleen Thompson and it includes a limited edition of one of her most popular CDs – Legion of the Rearguard.Kathleen is for many of my generation the voice we most associate with the republican songs of the 1970s but she was not just a fabulous singer. She was also a committed republican activist. She understood that her music could move audiences and remind them of the importance of Ireland's long struggle for freedom. Kathleen was a member of Cumann na mBan, of Green Cross and the National Graves. She was a strong supporter of the political prisoners and their families.Kathleen was also one of the most giving people I know. She gave freely of her talents and her time for the Irish cause. She stood up for herself and for us all. All these years later I still miss her. Ireland and her family lost a bright shining star when she left us. Go ndeanfaidh Dia trocaire uirthi. Many thanks to everyone who shared their memories of Kathleen with us and special thanks to Richard McAuley for his input.
After the great reaction to last week's throwback, this week we're going waaay back - all the way back to Episode 1 in fact! It was great to revisit my chat with Dr Glen Richards of Shark Tank fame. As co-founder and CEO, Glen oversaw incredible growth which culminated in Greencross being listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. Today, Greencross owns and operates Australia's largest network of veterinary practices with over 150 clinics including general practices, speciality and emergency centres, pathology labs and pet crematoria. Greencross is also Australasia's leading speciality pet care retailer with over 200 stores, operating under the brand names of Petbarn and City Farmers in Australia and Animates in New Zealand. The first thing John Goodpaster does every morning is make his bed (sometimes even when his wife is still in it). As a former commander in the U.S. Navy, he thrives off of routine and structure, and those character traits have served him well in his post-military career. John got into safety while he was running a parts distribution center in Michigan. He’d just finished his work supporting a SEAL team in Hawaii and, after a tough winter transition, was settling in when the company received an OSHA citation. He was then asked to transition into a safety position. According to John, if it weren’t for that citation, he’d likely still be on the logistics/operations side.“The hardest thing was, when you're an officer in the Navy, you expect certain things to go a certain way,” John says on this episode of the No Accident podcast, presented by TRUCE. “In the service, they do things without having to be repeatedly told stuff. Whereas in the corporate world, sometimes you’ve got to spend more time to educate because they don't react the same way.”Lucky for John, he has a master’s degree in adult and higher education from the University of Oklahoma, which helped him find a way to engage his employees in safety trainings and other educational settings. The trick, he said, is focusing on explanations rather than commands. You have to explain the importance behind safety precautions, he said, because that’s the only way to get buy-in. Currently, John is the Director of Environmental Health and Safety at the Abilene, Texas-based company Briggs Equipment, where he’s drastically improved safety conditions.“That was really when the ‘Safety First’ program came in, about when I came in in 2017,” he says. “At that point, we were spending multiple million dollars in workers' comp injury costs. We had a lot of cases. Implementing what we have, we are right now looking at being less than a $100,000 this year. … We've [also] gone from having 50-60 accidents a year to now we're on track to be under 20.”In this episode, John discusses the importance of getting out in the field and listening to the employees doing the dangerous work to gain a new perspective on safety, and how it’s possible to make safety-first a way of life rather than just a slogan. "Buck" Rogers of Rogers & Fite, LLC share how they secured justice for the Johnson family after an intoxicated 16-year-old driver recklessly slammed his Dodge Ram 1500 into the back of their minivan at 78 mph. Inside the minivan were David and Susannah Johnson and their four children -- Brooke, 10, Kathryn, 8, Hannah, 6 and Owen, 3 -- who were enjoying a family vacation in Blue Ridge, Georgia. Tragically, Hannah was pronounced dead at the scene, and Owen sustained massive injuries that caused him to be a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic. Kathryn's pelvis was shattered on impact, causing her to have to learn to walk again. Brooke had several broken bones and her mother Susannah sustained multiple broken ribs. After two hours of deliberation, a Fannin County, Georgia jury returned a verdict of $128,813,522, including $40 million for Hannah's wrongful death, $30 million for Owen's intangible damages and another $40 million for his future medical expenses. This was the fifth-largest wrongful death jury verdict in the United States in 2018. Often people are happy to do something through persuasion which they would never adopt through compulsion. There are three levers for behavioural change typically employed by government. In 2013 the two fellow students Finn Kugelmann and Max Naundorf founded the DJ-Duo Finnster & Maex. Due to the lack of electronic music in Passau and the shared passion to techno, they decided to handle it by themselves. So they began to organize private raves, all over the town. Since they have got a quiet positive feedback, they were offered to become residents in a young and small techno club called „Cute Room“, to close the musical gap in 2014. In 2016 they became officially part of the Villa TuNichtGut artist collective with whom they organized the Schwerelos Openair-Festival. Beside club-gigs they also appeared on several small festival stages within Germany and had also spontaneous gigs at Feel Festival and the Sonne Mond und Sterne Festival. As time went by they had serveral gigs with important characters of the scene, like Marco Bailey, Format:B, Oliver Koletzki, Florian Meindl, Mike Väth, Lützenkirchen, Emanuel Satie, Greencross, Defex, Freiboitar, Alle Farben, Aka Aka, Stefanie Raschke, Sascha Braemer, Paji, Einmusik and many others. They are locally well known for their drifty techno sets, but they also don’t forget to catch the crowd with deep and groovy beats mixed with melodic synthesizer elements. https://soundcloud.com/finnsterandmaex https://web.facebook.com/Finnsterandmaex?_rdc=1&_rdr https://www.instagram.com/finnsterandmaex/ Download for free on The Artist Union

Business Day TV — Wayne McCurrie from FNB Wealth & Investments chose AVI as his stock pick of the day and David Shapiro from Sasfin Securities chose Microsoft Crop McCurrie said: "Earnings are down 2%-4% which is nothing, and the biggest reason why is the Green Cross shoes, the restructuring and the cost associated with that. Their snack business and the coffee creamer business actually did quite well it's the shoe side in the spit side and what else would you expecting this environment. You haven't seen AVI at these valuations for a very long time. It might be too early, who knows." Shapiro said: "I am going with Microsoft, if you look at their results, cloud is growing and it keeps on growing, it's a growing part of their business - as it is with other people who provide cloud services as well. Even Windows is coming back in a big way. The Microsoft business, Satya Nadella has done an incredible job, you know it's on subscription basis but in itself as a software it's picking up so, I think this can keep growing at 9%-10% so it's a very very strong buy."
There was a lot of NZX news over the week. It seemed that there were a lot of companies that either had updates, guidance or came out with their annual report. In this weeks episode we look at the updated guidance from New Zealand King Salmon (NZK), the annual report from Greencross Health, the Fletcher Building buyback and we dig into two of New Zealand's publicly traded trucking and logistics companies. Remember also to check out the website for new blog posts from the week. Disclaimer: As always, nothing that is discussed in the podcast is financial advice. Adrian is the co-founder and CEO of Pitchblak, a company that helps business founders prove their ideas, get funding and launch companies that disrupt things. And yes, it has proven chops. Glen Richards, of Shark Tank Australia and Green Cross fame, reckons it's the best model for getting new ideas off the ground that he's seen. And that's big kudos. But what does any of this have to do with your Unfound Fears? Well, quite a bit. In episodes 1 and 2 we talked about what happens chemically to your body when you feel fear, and on a macro level, why the fears you feel about doing certain things are almost always worth it in the end. But in Adrian's work, he sees people experience tens, maybe hundreds of fear micro-moments a day. And that, he says, is a good thing. The right thing. Because what better way to overcome fears than in a bunch of small steps, rather than a massive leap. So in Adrian's experience, little victories and non-biased results are the things that help push your fears aside when you're starting a business. And like the theme from the rather excellent 80s sitcom Step by Step suggests, it's done in increments, not giant leaps. Some could say the giant leap is starting the business in the first place. But the thing I like most about Adrian's approach is this: it's the non-biased results that create your little victories, not hype. That first order, that first investment in marketing, turning a customer complaint into a positive, launching your website, buying your domain, even hiring a virtual assistant - they're all little steps that get fear off your back bit by bit. And, as Erin Hegarty said in episode 1, exposure is the best way to defeat the things that stress you out or produce anxiety. Doing them again and again in small steps makes them automatic.

If you want your company/organisation to be successful, directors/committee members have to embrace the development of a “positive culture”. In this article we have summarised comments made by Andrew Geddes, the recently retired Chairman of Greencross Limited, whilst commenting on Greencross’ journey from a small company (founded by Dr Glen Richards) to an “ASX Top 200 Company” where directors and senior managers committed to the creation of a “positive culture” which Andrew Geddes says was vital for the success of Greencross Limited.

You may know Dr Glen Richards as the 'growth guy' from Shark Tank Australia. He's also a successful leader and entrepreneur in his own right, having built a successful veterinary practice which grew to a number of practices, before 'thinking big' and bringing together other practices under the banner of Greencross.

Vet surgeon, business owner, and entrepreneur Dr Glen Richards knows a thing or two about success in the business world. Appearing as one of the sharks on Channel 10's hit show Shark Tank Glen believes that it's critical to invest in the successes of the future. In this conversation we chat about how a long train ride was the catalyst for a business plan that saw him become the Managing Director of national company Greencross and later co-founder of a company under which the well-known Petbarn sits; offering end-to-end services and care for companion animals. Glen continues to help foster early stage businesses including his Shark Tank investments through active mentoring, investing and strategic planning sessions. He regularly does public appearances and speaking engagements in the business community to share his scaling up story. Down to earth and real we talk about the essential non-negotiables to managing energy and relationships in business. It's not an easy road but one that requires decision and discipline. Glen has these and a generous spirit in bucket-loads.

We all know Dr Glen Richards as the founder of Greencross Vets, not to mention he is also one of the Sharks on the TV show “Shark Tank”. Glen’s entrepreneurial journey is inspiring and impressive and probably why we all know him so well. My conversation with Glen delves slightly from his conventional story. We start our chat taste testing a Monday Food Company pumpkin loaf, one of Glen’s portfolio companies, I had cooked the day before. This launches us into a conversation on where food is going, why we should be interested in our health and the price you pay for quality. Glen also delves into: what other investments he has that solve a problem surrounding food or nutrition; why he decided to join Shark Tank - and Steve Baxter’s role in his decision; how he now uses his experience - successes and hard learnings – to benefit the next waive of CEOs and founders what life is like post Greencross. Thanks to Glen for giving up his time to come on the show and to Vmation for their fantastic filming as always.

This week's episode is another mix-tape of some great conversations I've had on the podcast. This time we're focusing on people who managed to turn the thing that they love into reality, and what it took to make that happen.First up is Ben St. Lawrence, an Australian middle-distance runner, a two-time Olympian and an all around interesting guy. Ben’s not the first Olympian I’ve had on the show, however his story - his particular triumph over adversity and refocus of his life is one worth hearing. After Ben we'll hear from Jane Lu, the founder and CEO of mammoth fashion startup Showpo.com. This is easily one of my favourites - because everyone loves a story of triumph. Of closing the door on something in order to open unknown other doors, leading to the life you really want to live.Next is Taylor Steele, one of the most iconic and prolific surf film makers of our time. Through his film Momentum, released in 1992 - a then twenty year old Taylor captured a new and dominating style of surfing that hadn’t really been seen before as he filmed young surfers that would go on to become household names in the surf world: Shane Dorian, Rob Machado, Taylor Knox and of course Kelly Slater. Finally is the amazing Dr Glen Richards. Glen is a vet, entrepreneurial mega-success and a shark on the Network Ten hit show Shark Tank. It's Dragon's Den in the UK and Shark Tank everywhere else. He grew Greencross from a single vet practice to an ASX-listed company with clinics and pet stores all over Australia. So please enjoy this mega-episode of the show, about the origin stories of great successes. May it give your day some uplift, and maybe even inspire you to create something amazing. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Are U.S. mayors, implementing international treaties for on their local populations guilty of violating the Logan Act? Has the second civil war already begun? Conservatives targeted across the country with acts of terrorism, as the violence is not limited to Washington D.C. politicians and their staffers. From shootings across the country, bomb threats, lock downs, and shelters-in-place, and mock Trump assassinations, it has been a week of terror. We touch upon each incident, as well as the shooting at the Congressional baseball game. What role does the media play in all of the violence? Will media hysteria and leaks of classified information give way to calls for restrictions upon First Amendment protections? Are we seeing the breakdown of the social contract and civility? Police terrorize grade school girls with kidnapping and sex trafficking. Talk show host and researcher Ron Stevens joins us in the final hour to talk about cultural Marxism, the Sovietization of America, Mikhail Gorbachev, Green Cross International and Global Green, the deconstruction of our society, the targeting of children, the corrupt legal system, animals and humans, and raw milk farmer Michael Schmidt's 20+ year battle with the Canadian government.
Episode 19: The Green Cross Code is a simple guide to keep you safe on the roads – whether you’re in a car or on foot. With so many cars, buses and lorries, it’s important to know how to cross the road safely. Everyone needs to know it – you, your friends, and even mum and dad!

"Green" CrossWhen the economic tsunami struck the auto industry last year leaving Chrysler and GM in shambles, the U.S. government role-played as the "Green" Cross, if you will, providing the relief both corporations required to stay afloat. But now after surprisingly brief visits to Chapter 11 yielding fewer dealers, a much smaller work force as well as a shrunken brand and/or product lineup for both, the future looks bright...or does it? Some say they cut to the bone in too many areas while still others believe each needs a transfusion of new blood to drive them farther into the 21st Century. Joining John McElroy this week to discuss the present and future of the (formerly) Bankrupt Two in three essential areas are product analyst Michael Robinet of CSM Worldwide, Steve Finlay of Ward's Dealer Business as well marketing expert and author of the "The Big Picture," Professor Christie Nordhielm of the University of Michigan.
