She is a Chaplain and also a Board-Certified Christian Counselor through the National Association of Christian Counselors. She provides Faith-Based Counseling as requested. Ann Elliott worked in the New York City Child Welfare system for 25 years. She is a former CPS- Child Protective Services worker for the Administration for Children Services where she worked for 10 years and 15 years in the foster care Agencies. She has firsthand knowledge of the trafficking of children as she was approached to traffic children in her cases by her superiors. It was then that she began to see how extensive and complicit the agency, courts judges and attorneys were, in this vast criminal empire of trafficking children in the child welfare system. She has put her life at risk by coming forward with this information but knows that she must be a voice for the voiceless at all costs. In Honor of Senator Nancy Schaefer a Warrior and Champion for Child Welfare Reform, who stated “I believe Child Protective Service [CPS] nationwide has become corrupt and that the entire system is broken beyond repair. I am convinced parents and families should be warned of the dangers”, Ann has created an organization – REFORM CWN + FAMILY SUPPORT CONSULTANTS - passionate about advocating for the reform of the child welfare and family court system in New York, to be Agents of Change and Reform for the Child Welfare and Family Court Judicial System. The mission is to address the concerns of the Adoption and Safe Family Act (ASFA), that is pro-adoption and that expedites Termination of Parental Rights. The organization also tackles the systemic failures within Child Protective Services (CPS), foster care and Family Court. FAMILY SUPPORT CONSULTANTS is dedicated to Parent Empowerment & Advocacy and Family Reunification, as well as : highlighting concerns such as high turnover of CPS in field offices, illegal removal of documentation that supports parents progress and that compromises their court cases and financial incentives that compromises the welfare of children in the system and Family Court. The focus is also to bring attention to the concerns of child trafficking through the foster care system, family court corruption, compromised custody cases by rogue judges with judicial immunity and advocating for better support and resources for parents and children reunification and family stabilization. ..... kudos to Mr. Thomas Chung, her mentor.

And it's very hard to sometimes get that information. We were just reaching a point where folks are like, ‘What else is there? I've done all of it. Where's the next best thing that I can implement in my practice?' So we knew there was a need, but it was even much bigger than we originally anticipated.” – Irina Soriano“Due to the high velocity that many organizations are experiencing, this theory of change management is becoming more and more important. It's important in the way that we're communicating with the field. It's important in the way that we're managing our own enablement initiatives and how we're really rolling them out. ‘How are we doing this in an effective way that truly drives the behavior changes?' Lauren Wesley Wilson: What Do You Need? Lauren Wesley Wilson is a leading thought leader on media relations, diversity and inclusion, and crisis communications. At 25, she became the founder and CEO of ColorComm Corporation. Prior to that, Lauren worked as a communications strategist at a prestigious crisis communications firm in Washington, D.C. Lauren has been featured in The Washington Post, Forbes, and People, as well as on MSNBC and CNBC, and more. She has been recognized by PR Week's 50 Most Powerful in PR, Ad Age's Women to Watch, and New York Women in Communications. She is the author of What Do You Need?: How Women of Color Can Take Ownership of Their Careers to Accelerate Their Path to Success*. Many of us wish to be good allies in the workplace, especially to those who are underrepresented. Yet, what we assume that means isn't always what's most wanted or needed. In this conversation, Lauren and I discuss what leaders and peers can do to be better allies. Key Points Instead of asking “How can I help?” consider, “What do you need?” That's more likely to generate specific actions. Women of color feel like they are putting in tons of work into relationships with the majority culture, but it often feels unreciprocated. White folks think of allyship as speaking out against discrimination. Women of color say it's way more critical to advocate for new opportunities. Tie allyship to economic goals: conference attendance, nominations for recognition, inclusion on high-profile committees, and position/promotion considerations. Make invitations to people of color to be at the table. This contributes more substantially than proclamations of support. When you make a mistake, apologize, own it, and move on. Don't tell a story to explain yourself. TOP TAKEAWAYS: Relationship building is a lifetime process, and builds on itself. Changing environments doesn't mean we leave old relationships behind. Keep nurturing those long standing friendships as much as you grow and nurture new connections. Susan mentions the concept of hosting in her book “The Lost Art of Connecting”. What this means is, you don't need to be the person in charge of a space in order to host other people in it. Hosting can be a secret super power that allows you to get your grounding in a new situation, as well as a vehicle for making connections from a place of generosity. To quote Susan: “Bringing people together, you're making that magic happen and you are helping people feel seen, heard, and listened to. And I fervently believe that the greatest gift we can give one another is exactly that.” If we can understand the peoples greatest wish is to be seen and heard, and incorporate that into how we interact with them, we build much more fruitful and satisfying connections. It's extremely disarming without being manipulative. We often think people like us because of what we say, but it turns out talking less and asking questions makes us more likeable. Use that curiosity: understanding other people's perspective grows our empathy and helps us understand both the world and ourselves a little better. LESSON: You can't “hack” body language. How an unconventional journey to the C-suite of major ad agencies led to finding personal brand purpose I remember Mary Baglivo in our Rutgers days as fun but focused. Yup, there are stories I can tell. But the stories we focus on in this episode are how she turned her intellectual curiosity, which skewed more to classes in Art History than Business, into a career that included running three major ad agencies and earning innumerable industry accolades. An aspiring writer trying to make it in New York, Mary took a job at an ad agency. While learning on the go she caught the advertising bug, so much so that she moved from Madison Avenue to grad school followed by an ad agency gig in the Windy City that she couldn't refuse. That determination, and a knack for helping develop distinctive ad campaigns and insight-based marketing strategies, was recognized pretty quickly and helped her thrive in a male-dominated industry. She ultimately held President and C-level positions at leading global advertising agencies like JWT, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Euro RSCG Chicago. “Defining a ‘brand' is challenging. Clarifying your own brand is super important. A brand is more than its product attributes, obviously. It's more than what it looks like. It's certainly more than what an influencer portrays. It's definitely got to be emotional, and probably involve all the senses in some way, shape, or form.” After years of developing consumer brands like credit cards and cereal, Mary found her personal brand purpose – using her marketing expertise to help universities, museums, and foundations communicate their purpose. Now, in addition to running the Baglivo Group – with a focus on key client Pace University – she is a sitting board member for multiple organizations, including the New York Women's Foundation, and is intent on lifting up other women in business! “The key job of a CEO is to make sure that their people are feeling good, are happy and motivated, and have the opportunities to learn.” Mary and I dig into: An explanation of brand purpose and how it differs from but informs brand identity The moving target elements today of a solid brand campaign The increased consumer mandate for purpose and ESG and the question of how/if that can be marketed Can a person be a “brand” and how that applies to good leadership. The best advice she received as a leader How observing and working for people like “the most powerful woman in advertising,” Charlotte Beers, shaped her own leadership style and career Her work with the Block and its impact on diversity messaging through art The time and place for AI – yes, even in classrooms. On the mentor side, leaders have the opportunity to get to know new associates and foster valuable professional relationships. Since Annie started Pace PR as a solopreneur in 2010 the company has grown out of her studio apartment with one employee (herself!) into a multi-million dollar business with more than 40 clients spanning the globe and ten employees in multiple office locations. She's loved the journey and enjoys working with all of her colleagues and clients, even if it's remotely for right now. Prior to forming PPR, Annie worked for nearly a decade as a seasoned television producer, booking for major networks such as CNN, Fox News, CNBC, MSNBC & ABC. TV is definitely a specialty of Annie's, combining her unique understanding of behind-the-scenes television producing, alongside her unparalleled list of contacts. Pace PR has multiple clients on national + local TV every single day, including CNBC, Fox News, HLN, MSNBC, Fox Business Network, Bloomberg TV, and many others. Highlights of client work include working with travel company darling Away in its first two years of business, assisting with media relations efforts and landing numerous Tier 1 placements for the brand and its founders. One of her most interesting clients was Jeff Ashton, the prosecutor in the highly-publicized Casey Anthony trial. Annie secured him multiple, sought-after interviews upon the end of the trial and Ashton's retirement, which ultimately resulted in a New York Times bestselling book, Imperfect Justice, which Annie coordinated with her good friend Lisa Sharkey at HarperCollins. They were all thrilled when Lifetime called to make it into a made-for-TV movie starring Rob Lowe. Annie also spends time speaking on the topics of PR, women in business and the importance of personal branding. Recent conferences and events she has spoken at include Hopperx1 New York City 2019, DIG South Tech Summit 2019 and Startup Grind Global Conference 2020. She will also be speaking at INBOUND 2020 later this year. In 2019, she also spoke at the Women Impact Tech Conference, where she honored and humbled to introduce keynote Arianna Huffington, who couldn't have been lovelier and has left an indelible mark on Annie! Annie has also had experience writing for various outlets, including the Asbury Park Press, Huffington Post, Law360, PR News and many others. She's also recently been enjoying talking on different podcasts about her entrepreneurial journey. Annie is a graduate of Smith College where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the weekly newspaper, The Sophian. She also received her Masters in Public Relations from New York University in 2018 and taught Introduction to Media Relations for one year at Hofstra University. She has given numerous guest lectures at various universities in and around NYC.
