What kinds of changes are you seeing from Gen Z and Millennial leaders? Workforce demographics are shifting these days, as more and more Baby Boomers retire, opening up higher-level management and leadership positions that Millennials and Gen Zers are rushing to fill. This wave of next-gen leaders is bringing a tide of change, ditching old ideas of professionalism and proving that bold and authentic is the new standard.Amanda Litman literally wrote the guidebook for this new and decidedly different generation of leaders. “When We're in Charge” explores why the old ways are fading out and the fresh approach to authenticity, professionalism, and clear communication is going to revolutionize the workplace. In fact, it's already started.Amanda is teaching a new generation of leaders to redefine leadership on their terms:How to be an authentic leader while supporting your career goals; The many ways the look, feel, and sound of leadership has changed; How what you wear to work impacts your leadership (spoiler: it's not what you think); What the older generation of leaders can take away from the incoming cohort.Related Links:When We're in Charge: The Next Generation's Guide to Leadership - https://www.amandalitman.com/when-were-in-chargeLearn more about Amanda's work - https://www.amandalitman.com/Connect with Amanda on LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/amandalitman/Connect with Amanda on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/amandalitm/The Wall Street Journal, The Gen Xers Who Waited Their Turn to Be CEO Are Getting Passed Over - https://www.wsj.com/lifestyle/careers/gen-x-business-leadership-executives-d74ca6adAn Election Redesign To Restore Trust In Us Democracy - Tianna Epps-Johnson TedTalk - https://www.ted.com/talks/tiana_epps_johnson_an_election_redesign_to_restore_trust_in_us_democracyEpisode 466, How Gen X Navigates Career Change - https://www.bossedup.org/podcast/episode466Episode 516, The Power Pause: Rebranding the Stay-at-Home Mom - https://www.bossedup.org/podcast/episode516LEVEL UP: a Leadership Accelerator for Women on the Rise - https://www.bossedup.org/levelupBossed Up Courage Community - https://www.facebook.com/groups/927776673968737/Bossed Up LinkedIn Group - https://www.linkedin.com/groups/7071888/

In this second part of last week's discussion, you will continue to learn about anxiety and be inspired to ease your feelings by paying closer attention to them. Kelly speaks with fellow Canadian minimalist, spoken word artist, musician, international best-selling author, and former elementary school teacher, the incredibly insightful Humble the Poet, to share insights from his latest book, Unanxious: 50 Simple Truths to Help Overthinkers Feel Less Stress and More Calm. As Humble shared in the first half of their discussion, anxiety isn't something we should try to eliminate, but something we should get curious about. In this second half, Humble explains how anxiety can also show up in positive moments, and how learning to sit with our feelings can build lasting resilience. Together, they explore how removing external stimulants can lower our baseline anxiety, and how recognizing our emotional triggers — including those rooted in childhood — can reveal where the real work lies. They also walk through relatable, everyday anxiety-inducing scenarios and share practical tools — from setting boundaries with ourselves and others to intentionally doing small, uncomfortable things to build emotional strength. Be inspired to see anxiety as a natural human signal, and feel motivated to improve your relationship with it so you can transform your life for the better. Anna received an email from a listener about something he thinks she and Raven should talk about on the show! But the email has a disgusting photo attached…and Anna talks about it! Are you up to date on this week's biggest news story? Anna and Meteorologist Ashley will get you caught up on the trending news including one of the most “hate-watched” show's series finale and Andie MacDowell's daughter, Margaret Qualley, is playing matchmaker for her mom! A lot of people thought that Jay-Z would be the performer of the Super Bowl but since August 6th people think it will be Taylor Swift! Find out why! Millennials and Gen X have reverted to pacifiers to sooth their stress and Anna thinks it might be something she should look into! Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are extremely competitive so Anna, Raven, and Producer Julie share what they're competitive at! All the kids are yelling “six seven” and Anna asked her teenage niece what it means! Do you understand these words, because we are still trying to understand the new slang! So, what do global leaders eat for lunch when they have a meeting? The menu for a recent meeting between American President Trum and Russian President Putin was leaked, and Anna and Raven aren't sure it represents America's finest food! On the New Heights podcast, Jason Kelce had a food hot-take that got all his fans talking, but what's your food hot-take? Patty wants to start the tradition of “Back to School Gifts” so that their young children will be excited to return to school. She thinks that if there's wrapped presents on their first day back when they come downstairs in the morning (like Christmas morning) it'll get rid of some of the dread. Dad (Javier) thinks this is the most absurd thing he's ever heard. Get on the bus and go back to school, they're not spending money on more toys and junk so they can be excited for fifteen minutes. She says it's not a horse they're buying; it's Barbies and trucks! What do you think? Chris has a chance to win $4100! All he has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!

It's time for another beloved encore presentation and this time we are bringing back this powerful podcast therapy session for your benefit and enjoyment. Dr. Sara Kuburic, an existential psychotherapist and author behind The @Millennial.Therapist, offers profound insights into taking ownership of our lives. Dr. Kuburic champions the idea that we are free and responsible agents, shaping our own development through our choices. While it's easy to blame external forces for unhappiness, she encourages us to embrace the amazing opportunity to engage in life fully. She poses a crucial question: how much of what we face is inflicted by us, and how much just happens? As a therapist, she equips people with tools to navigate life's challenges, asking: “what can you change or how can you change your attitude so the situation is less painful for you?” Beyond existential thought, Jen and Dr. Kuburic explore self-loss and how we can unknowingly deceive ourselves into believing we're living the life we desire, even as our bodies signal distress through depression, anxiety, and panic. Jen and Dr. Kuburic get honest about: The difference between loving the "idea" of who you are versus who you actually are, and how to stop self-deception. The point when avoiding change becomes more painful than embracing it. Acknowledging our physical limits: how our bodies send red flags like anxiety, fear, or panic, even when we feel strong. How an all-consuming dedication to making something work, even if it's not right for us, can lead to our weakest moments if we don't face the truth. Thought-provoking Quotes: “We get to engage in life; we can take ownership, we can take responsibility, we can make choices, and I think that that's really how I see human suffering. My question is always, ‘how much of it happened to you? How much of it did you inflict on yourself?'” – Dr. Sara Kuburic “Life happens to us but that's not all that happens. We also happen to life.” – Dr, Sara Kuburic “The most pain I experienced actually came from my own participation, which included avoidance and self-deceit. I am not hard on myself because it came from such a pure place. I can't be mad at myself. But, I also understand that it's not something that serves me.” – Dr. Sara Kuburic “The truth is there regardless of whether or not you choose to see it. It will dictate your life until you see it. So are you safe enough in yourself to handle the truth that you are resisting or avoiding? That's a really delicate question that we need to honor.” – Dr. Sara Kuburic Resources Mentioned in This Episode: Dr. Sara Kuburic's “For the rest of 2025” Instagram post - https://www.instagram.com/p/C_WjH0mzF9z/ It's On Me: Accept Hard Truths, Discover Yourself and Change Your Life by Dr. Sara Kuburic - https://amzn.to/3Uf40yf Dr. Sara Kuburic's USA Today Column - https://www.usatoday.com/staff/7586635002/sara-kuburic/ Guest's Links: Website - https://www.sara-kuburic.com/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/millennial.therapist/?hl=en Twitter - https://x.com/SaraKuburic Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/sarakuburic/ Connect with Jen!Jen's Website - https://jenhatmaker.com/ Jen's Instagram - https://instagram.com/jenhatmakerJen's Twitter - https://twitter.com/jenHatmaker/ Jen's Facebook - https://facebook.com/jenhatmakerJen's YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/user/JenHatmaker The For the Love Podcast is presented by Audacy. We stand in gratitude to Bruce Vilanch for Peak Hollywood's most treasured and iconic entertainment history moments. Bruce is an EGOT Award Show Writer and he's penned warehouses and server farms full of TV Variety shows and specials with lingering legacies. As infamous Youtube gems were mined, during lockdown, by intrepid Millennial podcasters, Bruce bravely opened wounds to spill toxic details.Yes, we are talking Star Wars Holiday & Paul Lynde Halloween Specials. The hot tea is on tap in Bruce's new book, It Seemed Like A Bad Idea At The Time.As a child, Bruce was not just your garden variety funny fat kid. His mother recognized his unique potential and submitted young Bruce as a Lane Bryant Charming Chub print model. His journalism career took off at summer camp where Bruce successfully avoided outdoor activities by writing a popular and dishy camp newspaper. During college he went pro as a cub reporter for The Chicago Tribune, watching the films Gene Siskel elected to skip. A review of Bette Midler's cabaret show led to a collaborative lifelong friendship. The pattern has continued with Whoopi Goldberg, Billy Crystal, Dolly Parton and beyond. Bruce's comedic charms are so potent, he can take stinkers like Can't Stop The Music and Ice Pirates (featuring Bruce as a court jesting body-less head) and churn hilarity. Wherever the comedy leaned towards tragedy, Bruce mined the gold that is his new book.Bruce also tells us how Donny Osmond's pull with Mormon elders got a Utah affiliate to broadcast Bette Midler's HBO special. Bruce then boldly addresses the Jo Koy Golden Globes fiasco. He imparts the famous legend of Beethoven (the dog's) Oscar movement, and tells of his daring journey in search of a look at Milton Berle's alleged equipment. But, Bruce's glories will not be outshined by his duds because we are ringing in a round of IMDB Roulette in which we celebrate: Ray Charles, Dolly Parton Elizabeth Taylor and The Constitution! Plus, Bruce hints at an upcoming special with Whoopi Goldberg! In recommendations --Weezy: Shiny Happy People: A Teenage Holy War on PrimeFritz: The Documentary, Billy Joel: And So It Goes on HBO MaxPath Points of Interest:It Seemed Like A Bad Idea At The Time: The Worst TV Shows In History And Other Things I Wrote by Bruce VilanchBruce Vilanch on WikipediaBruce Vilanch on IMDBBruce Vilanch on FacebookWe Got Bruce - Fan SiteStar Wars Holiday SpecialPaul Lynde Halloween SpecialBrady Bunch Variety Hour - First EpisodeShiny Happy People - Season 2 - Teenage Holy WarBilly Joel And So It GoesMedia PathMedia Path on FacebookMedia Path on InstagramMedia Path on XMedia Path on Bluesky

It turns out, young voters (under fifty) are openly hostile to political parties, and are most likely to flip from election to election. This means the game is about to change as Millennials displace Baby Boomers as the largest voting bloc. So what happens? Adam Brandon is a senior advisor at The Independent Center, and the former and final president of FreedomWorks. He joins the show to discuss how an electoral surgical strike of a few house seats could introduce seismic waves to American politics.

In this episode, Sam and Matt McCraw unpack weekly church attendance trends from 2016 to 2024 across four generations. While Boomers slightly increased from 27% to 28%, Gen X dropped from 24% to 22%, Millennials from 26% to 22%, and Gen Z saw the sharpest decline—from 29% to 24%. What do these shifts mean for the future of church engagement, discipleship, and ministry strategy? We explore the implications for leadership, generational outreach, and the need for intentional connection points that resonate with each group. This week, Kate's interviewing Lee Tilghman, also known as @LeeFromAmerica, who was one of the very first major wellness influencers on social media. To her nearly 400k followers, she shared daily updates on everything from skincare and sleep hacks to smoothie bowls, travel tips, and workout routines, and her sponsorships netted an income of over $300k a year. On the grid, her life seemed perfect. But behind her carefully curated posts, Tilghman was in crisis, suffocating from the unrelenting demand of keeping up her online facade. She found herself viewing everything she did as potential content for Instagram, her relationships suffered, and her job's focus on food led her to develop an unhealthy obsession with eating “perfectly.” After a stay in a mental health facility to address her disordered eating and psychological decline, Tilghman quit influencing as her primary career and set out to discover who she really was by leaving it all behind. Or did she?In this episode, Kate and Lee discuss her memoir (out Tuesday Aug 12) “If You Don't Like This, I Will Die,” with topics including the pressures of influencer culture, the evolution of wellness trends, and the complexities of social media addiction. They explore Lee's journey through extreme wellness practices, her current POV on her treatment for orthorexia, and her departure from the influencer world. Ultimately, while Lee shares a compelling personal story, the conversation reveals notable inconsistencies between her current perspectives and her memoir's narrative, so Kate also contemplates how curated online personas continue to shape real-life accountability in her outtro and will continue the conversation over at patreon.com/bethereinfive.Note: This episode covers eating disorders and wellness culture.
