This week we watched Raw Force. We talked about all the nips, hitler stache, bad guys bad plan, cannibal monks, and…piranhas!
Happy Almost Thanksgiving friends! The boys are back after a little delay. Apologies are warranted because Justin and Chris had some scheduling issues that prevented them from recording and releasing the new episode in October. To make amends, they have the new one ready just in time for turkey day, and also have a little bonus Spotlight episode coming this month as well. For this gem, Chris brought a BANGER to the podcast. It's a "movie" for sure...and it's full of martial arts, zombie ninjas, psycho monks, pretty things, and Cameron Mitchell. That's right, Blood and Black Lace's own Cameron Mitchell. What movie you ask? Why it's Raw Force. You might want a little buzz for this one because it's awesome. Cheers!
Zombies, martial arts, BEWBS, and maybe Hitler? That's one heck of a combination! 1982's Raw Force is a movie trope salad but is it all Dustin has hyped it up to be?! This episode gets out of hand FAST, but we do our best to stick the landing! Join the B.A.M.s as we dig out and polish the best Jade bits for a hilarious and extra spicy episode!!! Remember...Don't Just Watch Action, B Action!!!!!!!!
This movie is a love letter to those truly looking for meaning in the artistic world of film. A bunch of martial arts party boys board an anything goes fun-time boat to achieve maximum enjoyment. Mike (Geoffrey O'Malley) and John (John Dresden) are amongst them. They want jolly fun-fun and to check out Warrior Island for some reason. The brochure clearly indicates that this place is haunted AF! Unfortunately, on top of the disgraced zombie hauntings, a nazi wannnabe, Thomas (Ralph Lombardi) is kill-focused for that jade action! Cookie (Jillian Kesner) deserves better than all these clowns! RTS try to get in on that jade trade for cash program. Collin, Jeremy and La-Mar inquire on how thick that jade is. There is a lot going on! When you aren't being eaten by demonic monks or stalked by the supernatural, you might get gobbled up by the piranhas! No one signed up for this kind of booze cruise. But, Warrior Island does seem kind of cool.
Our main feature is Blackout. We're also reviewing Civil War, The Omen, Stranded, The Exorcist Files, Exorcist III, and Raw Force.
It's a new week and a new episode of the WR? podcast! Episode 196 is a real doozy. The opening segment covers a preview of "WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth". Then, it's "movie season" on the WR? Podcast! First up is the original WR? film segment, "Friday's At Midnight"! This week's "Double Feature" brings the thunder! It's the one and only "Deathstalker", followed by, "Raw Force"! Up next, is the huge conclusion of the "Wonderful World of Walter [Hill]"! We wrap up our February "Icon Month" with a detailed discussion about the life and film career of one of our favorite directors. As is tradition, the walk down to the Lagoon and Waterfall of Goofs closes out the episode. Please enjoy responsibly. On this high kicking episode of WHATEVER HAPPENED TO VIC DIAZ? we're setting off with a nudity-filled sexploitation comedy mixed with a martial arts action film featuring a dash of the living dead, cannibalism, Nazis, explosions and a heck of a lot more with the wild 1981 mashup RAW FORCE from director Edward D. Murphy! Starring Cameron Mitchell, Geoffrey Binney, Hope Holiday, FIRECRACKER's Jillian Kesner and - of course - Vic Diaz, this one is goofy as hell, and occasionally lives up to its extra lurid poster art. We also discuss cult film revivals, what it means for a film to be "trash", the definition of exploitation and all sorts of other heady topics. CHECK IT OUT! The post Episode 174 – Whatever Happened to Vic Diaz? – Raw Force (1981) first appeared on Cinema Smorgasbord.
This week's pick is the 1982 action-type movie Raw Force. Essentially, passengers on a drunken pleasure cruise in the vicinity of Asia end up stranded on an island inhabited by cannibal monks that trade jade stones for meals of prostitutes kidnapped by a Hitler lookalike and his mercenary gang. All hell breaks loose when the passengers, who happened to be knowledgable in sloppy martial arts gum up the works, and have to fight off both the kidnappers and the zombie martial arts masters the cannibal monks resurrect. Guest Mike Spada joins us once again! Trailer IMDB Wikipedia

THIS WEEK: Snapdragon (1993), Raw Force (1994), Barb Wire (1996), Naked Souls (1996) From Playboy centerfold to first-run syndication starlet and tabloid fodder, only one woman can claim the title of THE definitive cultural icon of the 1990s: Pamela Anderson. Sure, you're probably familiar with Anderson's big-budget studio film, Barb Wire, but what about the rest of her cinematic oeuvre? Join us as we dissect the 90s movies that made Pam Anderson (not so) famous, read excerpts from her semi-autobiographical novels, and try to figure out how she got involved with a Power Rangers director. This week we watched Raw Force, an action movie from 1981. The description was a little misleading but damn, was this a fun ride!
Pat and Scott break down Subspecies 4: The Awakening, the end of the series. We also get super excited to watch the next movie Raw Force.

Billed as "the screen's first erotic kung-fu classic", FIRECRACKER stars RAW FORCE's Jillian Kesner as a butt-kicking karate expert who travels to Hong Kong (actually the Philippines) to track down her journalist sister who recently vanished. Featuring topless fight scenes, stick fighting and, of course, Vic Diaz as "Grip". Essentially a remake of TNT JACKSON (which director Cirio H. Santiago would remake again in 1992 as ANGELFIST), FIRECRACKER is extremely silly, but is it any fun? Listen to the latest episode of WHATEVER HAPPENED TO VIC DIAZ and find out! B Movies are the Best Movies This week we got together and watched Raw Force (1982), a recommendation from Insane Mike of Attack of the Killer Podcast and Prescribed Films. Thanks for the flick, Insane Mike! A group of martial arts students are en route to an island that supposedly is home to the ghosts of martial artists who have lost their honor. A Hitler lookalike and his gang are running a female slavery operation on the island as well. Soon, the two groups meet and all sorts of crazy things happen which include cannibal monks, piranhas, zombies, and more!
Fifth choice podcaster Chris Flynn comes off the bench to join Marcus, Vinny and Tom for a Christmas special at Fat Tony's (https://fattonyslifestyle.com/) for the second episode running. In John's absence, you'd expect less (no?) talk about black metal, but weirdly, there's at least as much as ever. Chris gives away his mother's Christmas present, assuming she's a regular listener (and why wouldn't she be?). Enjoy your dinner voucher, Mrs. F. Tom's top six concerns the greatest upsets in MMA history. There's a few upsets in the list itself, given that they were won by heavy favourites. Marcus details his recent gig, really abusing his podcast platform to plug his music. Hustling hustler Ollie Mannion drops by for an impromptu interview / haircut to promote his new gym, Hustle fitness, and possibly the recent Jennifer Lopez film, Hustlers (available now to stream, probably). There's some discussion of the upcoming (at time of recording) UFC show, which seems a bit foolish, given they got most of the predictions wrong before anyone got to hear the podcast. This month's movie review is Raw Force, which frankly sounds like they made it up to test if people were still listening. Nice try, lads. Finally, on a seasonal notes, Chris reveals the content of his naughty and nice lists.
Reviews in this episodes are One Dollar Too Many (1968), Panic Beats (1983), Pay The Ghost (2015), Phoonk (2008), Poison Sweethearts (2008), Prince of the Sun (1990), Raise Your Hands, Dead Man, You're Under Arrest (1971), Raw Force (1982), Re-Kill (2015) and Rituals (1977)
We're back after an extended break while Julie is moving to her new digs. This time we look at two movies starring the late, great Richard Hatch. These are maybe not the two best movies to examine though if you want to prove that he truly was "great". We start off with 1983's Prisoners of the Lost Universe, which is staggeringly inept on many levels but still fun in a RiffTrax kind of way. We follow that up with 1985's Heated Vengeance, which was directed by Edward D. Murphy who had previously done one of our all time favorites, Raw Force. It's a pretty boilerplate tale about a Vietnam War veteran who returns to the country in search of a woman he had fallen in love with during his time in battle. It is not great either, but for both films we try to find the good elements where we can. For the second film we have a special guest, Dylan, who has plenty to add to the conversation. Sztuki walki, dużo nagości i zombie czekający w kolejce, by spuszczono im łomot - tak, "Czysta energia" to fantastyczny seans! Postanowili dorzucić soft porno i klimaty nieumarłych. Zapraszamy do posłuchania!
Raw Force 1982 Three intrepid martial artists (Geoff Binney, John Dresden, John Locke) plan to relieve some stress and enjoy a jaunty vacation by joining a lovely singles cruise to the islands located by the South China Sea. Unwittingly, the crew aboard this luxurious liner manned by a loquacious skipper (Cameron Mitchell) and his strident, pessimistic wisecracking "partner," Hazel Buck (Hope Holiday) is lured into an oblivious locale known as the "Warriors Island." What's even worse, this seemingly taciturn location is inhabited by a sect of hungry monks who crave the flesh of the living virgins. As well, the Warriors Island contains the burial ground of many of history's most violent and notorious martial artists who have been condemned for their dearth of honor. To escalate the quandary even further, these avaricious monks, never satiated with enough fresh and blood, plan to use their black magic to raise the living dead and create an army of indomitable killing machines... Besides encountering piranhas and zombies and maniacal, cannibalistic monks, Mitchell's crew must contend with yet another antagonist, Dr. Speer (Ralph Lombardi), who speaks with a very horrendous (and probably fabricated) German accent. The three main martial artists have only their wits (as always) and their athletic prowess against a multitude of flesh eating zombie martial arts experts. The distressed characters must escape this island before their nightmarish scenarios end with...just their deserts... Gang Wars aka Devil's Express 1976 A no-nonsense African-American cop, Warhawk Tanzania, who also happens to be a martial arts master, tries to put an end to a brutal gang war that's raging in the streets of New York. Eventually, he also discovers that they aren't his only problem, since an actual demon has been accidentally released by a maintenance worker and is now attacking and killing people in the subway tunnels.
This week we watch a cult classic, 1982's Raw Force. An accountant (Geoffrey Binney) and his karate club fight cannibal monks' zombies on an island.
The Podtoid team is back together once again, just in time to say goodbye to Ducktales. While Chris laments a game many people will never get a chance to play, the rest of the team recount Omega Labyrinth Life, Rage 2, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, Raw Force, and Psycho Kickboxer. They also try to guess what the new Resident Evil game is and figure out if recycling makes you gay. All that, plus some misguided attempts at Macho Man Randy Savage impressions, on Podtoid Episode 411.

In a physical media world where boutique labels and collectors are becoming more and more prevalent we're willing to bet there's none quite as eccentric as Vinegar Syndrome. For the past five years they've delivered cult, exploitation, blaxploitation, horror, XXX and many more obscure, and just plain bizarre, films that we never imagined would arrive on DVD and in HD on blu-ray. From an underrated slasher like Slaughterhouse, to the high class XXX of Blue Ice, Rudy Ray Moore films galore and even Clint Howard as a psychotic Ice Cream Man; Vinegar Syndrome titles always guarantee something different. Besides, how could we not love a company willing to release one of our all time favourite cult films, Raw Force, on blu-ray? First up we talk all about what we've been watching and it includes the recent theatrical release Searching, a duo of IFC Midnight releases, a little bit of Revenge, Christian Slater shredding it on a skateboard, Chris discovers two movies from 2017 he did not like at all, Josh gushes over genre film The Theta Girl and much more! Thanks for listening! Be sure to head to iTunes to subscribe, rate and review the show. If you like what you hear - tell a friend and spread the word - every little bit helps! In July of '82, things were all over the place, and this is one of our weirdest episodes yet as a result. We've got the creator of Happy Days chasing the success of Airplane!, we've got the start of the big S.E. Hinton landrush with Disney's Tex, and we've got one of the weirdest Chuck Norris films of the era. And that's just to warm up. If you've ever wondered what it would have been like if George Lucas had starred in Smokey and the Bandit, you can finally find out. You want Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton in a big fat musical love story? We've got it. And it's time for Ron Howard's ascent to power to start with a comedy about hookers starring Michael Keaton. You'll learn the weird origins to two of the biggest power anthems of the '80s, and you'll hear Drew cry about one of his favorite movie stars. All that, and we'll throw in Raw Force, the single craziest film we've covered so far, all for the low low price of free. Who loves you? '80s All Over does, baby.

Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Presented by Dark Discussions Podcast is the new monthly Halloween Boutique: A Psychotronic Review podcast where co-host Phil reviews his various special edition blu-rays and DVD's from boutique companies such as Mondo Macabro, Severin Films, Synapse Films, Redemption Video, Code Red, Arrow Video, and all the rest. What's the purpose? Well, co-host Phil figured that if he purchased a special edition of a cult or horror film home release with extras and remastering of the motion picture, why not give his 15 minute opinion of each film right after he watches them. Similar to the Dark Discussions Terror Tantrum segment by Patrick Lacey or the Bloody Bits podcast by Jason Lloyd of Horrorphilia, Halloween Boutique takes some of the recent releases and obscure titles and goes into the background of the movie, how is the film itself, what the presentation and remastering is, and discussion on the extras upon each disc. This second edition of the podcast includes reviews of Russ Meyer's 1965 film Motorpsycho, Mondo Macabro's release of the 1984 slasher Don't Open Til Christmas, Vinegar Syndrome's disc of the mashup 1982 film Raw Force, the 1969 Radley Metzger epic Camille 2000 (released by Cult Epics), Redemption's definitive release of Jess Franco's 1973 The Demons, and the Blue Underground disc of the Italian giallo Seven Deaths in the Cat's Eye. As always we welcome your comments: darkdiscussions@aol.com (written email or attached mp3 files) WWW.DARKDISCUSSIONS.COM
