Fáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 9ú lá de mí Bealtaine, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1986 bhuail airí agus múinteoirí arís an mhaidin sin I gcóir uair na cinniúna cainteanna faoi mhargadh chun díospóireacht a shocrú. I 1997 cheap daoine nach raibh Sinn Féin chun a bheith ag na cainteanna leis na páirtí eile nuair a bhí siad chun tosú arís I mí an Mheithimh. I 1970 fuair dhá aire sa rialtas briseadh as a bpost I gcóir a baint a bhí acu san iarracht gunnaí mídhleathach a thabhairt isteach chuig an tír chun iad a úsáid sa sé chontae. I 1986 bhí fadhb mór mar go raibh róphlódú sna barda san ospidéal in Inis agus tháinig sé seo suas an tseachtain roimhe chomh maith mar dúradh go raibh sé dainséarach de bharr an acht seirbhís dóiteáin. Sin Falco le Rock Me Amadeus – an t-amhrán is mó ar an lá seo I 1986. Ag lean ar aghaidh le nuacht cheoil ar an lá seo I 1965 I rith turas ceol sa Bhreatain chan Bob Dylan I gcóir dhá oíche sa Royal Albert Hall. Bhí The Beatles go léir sa lucht féachana. I 1992 bhí Bruce Springsteen ar an teilifís don chéad uair I dTuaisceart Meiriceá ar Saturday Night Live le Tom Hanks. Agus ar deireadh breithlá daoine cáiliúla ar an lá seo rugadh aisteoir Noah Centineo I Meiriceá I 1996 agus rugadh amhránaí Billy Joel I Meiriceá ar an lá seo I 1949 agus seo chuid de a amhrán. Beidh mé ar ais libh an tseachtain seo chugainn le heagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Buon ascolto!
Falco | Vienna calling (single) | 1985

Continuing our podcasts centering on biopics, we turn our attention to one of the best of the 1980s, Amadeus, directed by Milos Forman and adapted by Peter Schaffer from his play of the same name. It's a look at the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce), through the lens of his rival, Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham). We discuss Schaffer's play, which turned into the film, including all the well-known actors who starred in both the UK and Broadway. We look at the plot of the film, discuss some of the historical liberties taken in play and film, including the question of “did Salieri really kill Mozart?” We discuss the rest of the cast, including some well-known character actors and one young actress who would go on to star in one of the biggest US TV shows of this century. If that wasn't enough, we talk about Rock Me Amadeus, the 1985 song by Austrian singer Falco and marvel at not only how many versions of the song there were (over 20) but just how amazingly successful it was around the world. We might be having a new comics podcast coming soon. Still working on logistics. So be on the lookout for that, maybe, along with some big name guests coming to the main show (fingers crossed).

Dave and Ethan work together to determine the definitive top five songs on Weird Al's 4th studio album, Polka Party!

There's a Good Tradition of love and hate, but Do You Feel My Love? Then again, Love Kills, but I guess we will always be Together In Electric Dreams before we ride the Crazy Train. Yes, this one goes out to The One I Love, not only that I just had a Flashback to Teardrops when I Stomp, but I Really Didn't Mean It. I mean, How Will I Know, if this love is Solid or not? Well, head Down on the Street to my Love Shack in Vienna and Rock Me Amadeus. The Only Way Is Up when you have Love On Your Side. Now if you don't mind Me and My Girl are going Nightclubbin'. You know how it is, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, and Time is but A Clock of the Heart. So Let's Get Serious and Hang Together, Off The Wall in that Buffalo Stance.
June, 2020: It's finally time to talk about the Purple One on Strong Songs, specifically his 1986 chart-topper "Kiss." How did a song that was originally written for a standard band become so stripped-down and distinct? Why do those vocal and guitar parts work so well?
"Rock Me Amadeus", "Jeanny", "Vienna Calling" etc.

Episode 83: “… for how long?" Jim, George, and Nebulor/Joseph debate hit pop songs of the 80s that have been lost in time. Also discussed are the Top 5 ointments.Joseph & Jim recall a squalid spring break moment set to the tune of ‘Rock Me Amadeus.'Jim schemes and connives to get his honorable mentions heard on the show. Joseph unintentionally pays tribute to Kim Carnes 1981 album 'Mistaken Identity' when misattributing a song off it to Rod Stewart. George makes an 'on-air' confession/apology for a prank he pulled on a high school marching band adversary, Chris F. But the show's highlight is when, after multiple attempts at landing a juvenile joke from middle-school, Jim finally hits the bullseye for a showstopper.Enhancement: Lost 80s Tuneshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWyy7Huc6KAhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a35VDvuDiz0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIOJdMdS56khttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEjlMvDsp9Ihttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJwt2dxx9yghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyN_-YSkyhkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAtGOESO7W8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ5VCDON1Mohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEt1QFWS9dshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqDjMZKf-wghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCOUKr3pLGIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5I_CpoodtIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pj1Dh3BNS2Qhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kBlp_csY0Ehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hqgC3W9GUIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1TT0yVTlRg
