We bowed down to the power of hot mugwort before this amazing episode! The main topic was on a study that may be the long-lost "missing link" in our training theory. It took 12 elite endurance runners and had them do sprints of 100 meters and 400 meters, along with a VO2 max test. Their findings (and one striking non-finding) may connect studies on speed interventions with real-world implications. We also answered listener questions in the "no secrets" style! Meet Berkeley, who plays for the Vegas Thrill. Hear about her journey from playing college ball at Utah and then over seas in the pro legaues. Now she comes home to play in her backyard of Vegas! Oblad majored in graphic design at Utah. She is the daughter of Jeremy and Jody Oblad and has one brother and one sister. She was honored as the 2014 Nevada Gatorade Player of the Year after leading Coronado High School to its second consecutive state championship. Oblad owns a dog, a boxer named Blink, named after the band Blink-182. She mentions Ruben Herrera, a former club coach and current president of Vegas Thrill, as a mentor. In addition to volleyball, she played soccer and tennis and learned the piano while growing up. Her hobbies include reading, writing, photography, fashion, graphic design, sewing, hiking, pottery, painting, and exploring new places. She also runs a literary and art magazine with a friend called Quixotic. Other Professional Experience: Oblad made her professional debut with 1MCM Diamont Kaposvar in the Hungarian league in 2020. She played for Les Mariannes in France during the 2020-21 campaign and competed for TopSpeed in Taiwan in the 2021-22 season. In 2024, she joined the Vegas Thrill in the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation campaign, posting a .303 hitting percentage with 145 kills, along with 38 blocks and 48 digs.

This week's lead news story is the just-announced 2025 Ford Mustang GTD that Ford Motor Company says is the pinnacle of Mustang engineering. As we discuss in this week's episode, it's hard to argue that. The Mustang GTD delivers a mind-blowing 815 horsepower, 664 pound-feet of torque, and a riveting top speed of 202 mph. The fastest street-legal Mustang ever boasts advanced features that include active aerodynamics, carbon-ceramic brakes, and a sophisticated suspension system. One goal of the new Mustang standard-bearer is achieving a sub-seven-minute lap at Nürburgring. Powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, the GTD appears to have the goods to do just that. With the dry-sump oil system, its engine offers enhanced lubrication during high-speed cornering and revs up to 7,650 rpm. If that's not enough, the Mustang GTD also incorporates a specialized drag reduction system that enables it to adjust its aerodynamics to optimize speed and grip based on driving conditions — a pretty nice trick. Co-Host Chris Teague and Host Jack Nerad will react to the newest Ford sup0ercar in this episode. In our road tests this week, Chris Teague will evaluate another vehicle from an American brand, the 2025 Dodge Hornet. Meet Shainah Joseph a member of Team Canada women's volleyball team. She shares her volleyball journey from Ottawa to the college days as a Florida Gator and then over seas to play pro. This past season she was a part of PVF's Orlando Valkryies. Pro Career Joseph has played for VC Maritza in Bulgaria (2017–18), Top Speed in Taipei (18–19), Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors in the Philippines (2019–20), Ageo Medics in Japan (2020–21), Vandœuvre Nancy Volley-Ball in France (2021–22), and Marcq-en-Barœul Volley Club in France (2022–23). Beginning in 2023, she played for the Orlando Valkyries in the United States. Team Canada Joseph was selected to play for the Canadian Junior National Women's Volleyball team in 2012, then played for the women's national team from 2015 to 2017. All three years, she competed in the Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup. She also competed in the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix in 2016 and 2018. In 2023, she competed at the FIVB Volleyball Women's Olympic Qualification Tournaments, where Canada came in third, just short of qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. In today's video, we're going to be discussing wizarding transportation. Not via the floo network, not via apparition, and certainly not by Hippogriff - but by broomstick. Of course- in the muggle world a broomstick has a very different function, but to a witch or wizard- they see an opportunity to fly- a means of getting from point A to point B. But they're not only used in every day life- they're also used in sport- notably Quidditch. Without broomsticks the game of quidditch would cease to exist, and wouldn't that be awful. Brooms are brought to the forefront of our minds right near the beginning of the first book/film, when Hagrid first brings Harry to Diagon Alley. In complete awe of everything around him, Harry pauses for a moment as he walks past 'Quality Quidditch Supplies', Diagon Alley's premier broom shop. It's also in this moment that he overhears other young witches and wizards going berzerk over a broom in the window: "Wow! Look at it! The new Nimbus 2000!"
