AI is changing how people discover, evaluate, trust, buy, create, hire, and compete. The bigger question is whether your business model is built to survive a future where attention is fragmented, trust is harder to earn, execution is easier to automate, and buyers have more options than ever. Learn how to activate the M.A.S.S. Effect Business Model, a strategic ecosystem built around: • Media to create attention, trust, authority, and discoverability • Assets to create scalability, leverage, and income beyond your direct time • Strategy to create clarity, alignment, interpretation, and better decisions • Systems to reduce friction, support consistency, and keep the business moving Many businesses are addicted to acquisition because they never built retention. In an AI accelerated world, that becomes dangerous because information is easier to access, skills are being compressed, and execution is becoming automated. The real value now shifts toward trust, experience, clarity, influence, systems, and community. The future belongs to adaptive businesses that can evolve with the market, keep customers connected, turn trust into retention, and scale without breaking the founder, team, or customer experience. If your business grew tomorrow, could it actually hold the growth, or would the model collapse under the weight of what you asked for? Most people think companies change because they care. That is rarely how it works. In this episode of How to Protect the Ocean, we break down what actually forces companies to stop harming the ocean, and why awareness alone is often not enough. Ocean Conservation pressure can come from many places: lost customers, public campaigns, employee pushback, investor concern, regulation, or personal wake-up calls inside leadership. You'll hear real examples, including how some businesses transformed when staying the same became too costly. Business Sustainability matters because if we understand what creates real change, we can stop wasting energy on tactics that do not work. This episode will help you think more strategically about advocacy, accountability, and protecting the ocean in a world shaped by business decisions. Welcome back to a brand new season of Courage and Chaos! Today's episode kicks it all off with a very raw and honest chat about business sustainability- which is just a fancy way of saying how to make it through the tough times as an entrepreneur, and how to keep yourself going! I've broken today's episode down into four tough “phases” you may find yourself going through in your business, and how I navigated each one: from worldwide pandemics and the cost of living crisis to how to show up when it feels like the world is on fire, to working through grief and personal challenges (complete with a stint in burnout mode) and figuring out how to manage pregnancy, maternity leave, and returning to work. This episode is for anyone who is going through a tough time in their business or their life- it's real, it's raw and it's full of lessons learned the hard way and practical tips and advice you can apply, whatever situation you're in. I hope you'll find it helpful and relatable and feel a little less alone.   Thanks for joining the conversation!   Don't forget to like/follow the podcast to stay up to date on new episodes, and if you like what you hear please give us a share! Marketing 101 for Small Business Owners

Play Episode Listen Later Sep 22, 2025 8:44

Welcome back to the Empower Her Business Accelerator podcast! I'm your host, Philippa Channer, and today we're closing out our September series on revenue streams with a vital topic that every entrepreneur needs to revisit regularly: sustainability. Over the past few weeks, we've uncovered what your revenue streams are, explored ways to diversify them, and even talked about innovating them for greater profitability. But what happens after you've done all that? The next step is evaluating whether those revenue streams are actually sustainable over time. This is where the real test begins—because building income is one thing, but ensuring it continues consistently, profitably, and without draining you dry is another story entirely. (00:00) What Does “Sustainable Revenue” Really Mean? Sustainability isn't just about whether your revenue streams are making money today. It's about whether they can keep performing tomorrow, next quarter, and years down the line without depleting your energy or resources. (02:00) Auditing Time, Money, and Energy The first step is to audit each revenue stream (04:00) Evaluating Scalability Sustainability often comes down to scalability. In other words, can you grow revenue without growing stress? (05:00) Red Flags to Watch Out For Not all revenue streams are as solid as they look.  (06:00) Creating a Quarterly Review Process A sustainable business isn't set-it-and-forget-it—you need to regularly check in. That's why I recommend a quarterly review.  (07:00) Checking Alignment with Your Vision Finally, sustainability isn't just financial—it's personal. Sometimes we hold onto revenue streams because they're working, not because they align with our long-term goals. Closing Thoughts Evaluating sustainability isn't always glamorous, but it's the difference between building a hustle and building a legacy. Money matters—but momentum, mental health, and mission matter even more. If today's episode sparked some ideas for you, I'd love to hear from you. And don't forget, I've opened up the Entrepreneur Incubator, a four-week experience to help you clarify your brand, build a strategy, and actually implement it.
