Prophecy Radio episode #60 talks about all things fan art, and even has a special guest! Please welcome Sarah Barra (aka @Hellredsky), who graciously joined us for another fun discussion. We also talk about all the latest news in the Riordanverse, including the new Rick Riordan Presents author who recently joined the roster, as well as reread and discuss Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian chapter 14. New episodes of Prophecy Radio air weekly, and all ages are welcome to tune in. News and Updates (00:02:28) The start of this episode is chaotic, but what else is new? We recorded a little early this week, so news is light. Read Riordan lets us know some great gifts you can receive as a demigod. They definitely stole our idea for next week! Except no they didn't, our idea is pretty different. Rebecca Kuss at Rick Riordan Presents/Disney-Hyperion announced a new book coming to the RRP imprint! Judy I. Lin has joined Rick Riordan Presents! We've definitely heard of A Magic Steeped in Poison. It'll be so fun and interesting to read about Taiwanese folklore! Karen is super excited about a horror novel joining the lineup! Kristen is…not. (The book she references is The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich.) This book takes place in Vancouver, so we can live vicariously through the characters to explore the city where Percy Jackson and the Olympians is filming! Kristen rebukes Karen's idea of exposure therapy for horror novels. Percy Jackson fanart (feat. Sarah Barra aka @Hellredsky) (00:09:31) Welcome, Sarah! It's so great to finally talk in person because we've been mutually supporting each other for a while now! Sarah tells us about how she's been drawing fanart since she was little! They also give us some good advice on how to keep the enjoyment of your craft alive when it's become your fulltime job. And if you're looking for some good tools, Sarah has some great advice for that, too! Remember: Digital art is just as valid and beautiful as traditional art mediums. Does anyone else struggle to color in their creations? You can't please everyone! Even ugly or bad art invokes an emotion, and that's important, too. Create something YOU enjoy, first and foremost. It's so interesting how a fandom can grow into something new thanks to fanart and fandom. In particular, we're thinking of Velinxi, whose art is monumentally influential in the Percy Jackson fandom. It's fun to put your own spin on a character like Percy Jackson, and it's interesting to hear how Sarah does that in their artwork. All three of us talk about how old we are and how long we've been around the internet and fandom culture. Social media might be a dumpster fire on any given day, but it also brings us a lot of opportunities to meet new people and see different kinds of artwork. What are some of our biggest fandoms? Shout-out to Teen Wolf!! Kristen and Karen are huge fans of Karen Hallion and Lord Mesa. Sarah tells us how she first got into Percy Jackson. Some of Sarah's favorite PJO artists include: Viria, Velinxi, Sarah Moustafa (@smoustart), Arisha (@arishatistic) Drazen (@spiderdeli), and Marik (@marik_draw). What kind of influences, good or bad, will the show have on the fandom once it comes out? We love the Percy Jackson multiverse! Sarah makes a good point about how Clarisse's portrayal in the fandom could change a lot because of Dior Goodjohn's casting in the show. Karen wants to see more demigods wearing glasses! All of us also want to see more diversity in the fandom! We're giving away one of Sarah's $40 chibi commissions! The rules are simple: 1. Make sure you're following @prophecypodcast and @Hellredsky on Twitter, and 2. Tell us who your favorite Percy Jackson character is using the hashtag #ProphecyRadioGiveaway. You'll have until December 19 to enter, and then we'll pick one random winner to receive the prize! Make sure you follow Sarah @Hellredsky on Twitter/Instagram/Tumblr/Hive/Mastodon, as well as check out their ko.fi as well as their podcast Herosgrafia. “Bye bye!” “(I waved.)” We had a BLAST. Thanks again to Sarah, and we can't wait to have her on again! Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian (01:08:50) It's time to talk about The Last Olympian chapter 14. Why was this chapter SO. LONG. Kristen's recap this week is poetry to the ears. We loved hearing Thalia's perspective on the whole LuKronos situation. It'll be so interesting to see how the Hunters are portrayed in the show. Why is Thalia defending Hermes in this situation? Percy doesn't want anymore nightmares, but you can't always get what you want. We're up to Prophecy Count #29! Prophetic dreams are a demigod thing, and it's simply not mentioned enough. What does Clarisse dream about?? We loved the callback to Auntie Em's Garden Gnome Emporium. Why do certain monsters take longer to reform? What's the correlation between intelligence and the length of time it takes for them to return from Tartarus? Are we meant to empathize with Ethan Nakamura at all? When did Luke start regretting his decision to join with Kronos? Oh, to be a fly on the wall inside Kronos' mind. Has the Big House always been blue!? Why does the Oracle choose young girls as its vessel? (Is this an Apollo thing…?) Was May Castellan unstable even before she was hit with Hades' curse? We kind of spoiled ourselves last week. Oops. Have we seen Thalia use lightning before!? Okay, how did Percy create that hurricane? And on ACCIDENT? Can we assume Percy can control hurricanes, too? And if so…what the heck, man!? You're falling down on the job. We once again discuss whether Percy Jackson is overpowered. We try to figure out where the Clazmonian Sow is from. How do the lion statues come to life? That visual of Percy lassoing the flying pig is hilarious. Feedback (02:02:01) Jessica chimes in with some comments on the gods and the Fates. Espeon is excited about the new Rick Riordan Presents book, not least because it's a young adult book! Thanks for listening, and tune in next time for episode 61, where we'll try to come up with a few gifts good enough for the gods! This episode's hosts are: Karen Rought and Kristen Kranz. Good morning ladies and gentleman, this is Garrison Hardie with your CrossPolitic Daily News Brief for Wednesday, November 9th, 2022. The midterm elections are still in full swing in some states, as results are still trickling in… let’s get to the news: As things stand now according to the Associated Press: The GOP leads the democrats with 47-46 seats taken. 51 is needed for majority. In the house, the GOP leads with 199 seats to the democrats 174 seats. 218 seats are needed for majority. In Arizona, currently democrat Katie Hobbs holds a slim lead over Republican Kari Lake, with 66% of the vote reporting. In Oregon, Tina Kotek the democrat, has a slim lead over Republican Christine Drazen, with 67% of the vote reporting… and Drazen for those of you who remembered even had the support of one of the Nike founders. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/11/09/who-will-republicans-hold-accountable-for-tuesday-night-n2615702 Republican Voters Deserve Answers and Accountability There's no way to sugarcoat it — Republicans got bamboozled in the midterms. All the polls that we reported showing Republican candidates surging in the final weeks of their campaigns, the race ratings from the Cook Political Report, and the overconfident statements from GOP leaders were all significantly overly optimistic about what we all watched play out on Tuesday night. There were GOP victories — Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio in Florida, J.D. Vance in Ohio, Ted Budd in North Carolina, Brian Kemp in Georgia, Jen Kiggans in Virginia, to name a few — but conservatives were sold a false bill of goods from the leaders tasked with delivering GOP majorities. Those promising great success in order to consolidate power, in a drapes-measuring move, hoping to land a leadership position in a new Republican majority may be the worst offenders who owe the Republican electorate the most answers. Among them are the leadership of the Republican National Committee, including Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, the chairs of the National Republican Congressional Committee — Rep. Tom Emmer (R-MN) — and National Republican Senatorial Committee — Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), and the House Republican Leader — Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). In an election year that favored Republicans purely for its timing as the first midterm of the Biden administration, an advantage that should have been helped by a president with chronically underwater approval, inflation above eight percent, surging crime and drug overdose crises, a wide open border, and so many more reasons, there's no reason Republican candidates should have performed as poorly as they did. https://redstate.com/bonchie/2022/11/09/breaking-pennsylvania-senate-race-called-n655867 Pennsylvania Senate Race Called for Fetterman Democrat John Fetterman has won the Pennsylvania US senate election against Republican Mehmet Oz. The race ended up close, but Fetterman’s overperformance with blue-collar voters pushed him over the finish line. He will now head to Washington, DC, in January as part of what will almost certainly remain a Democrat-controlled Senate. What else can you say? The Republican Party lost to a man who is not cognitively all there. As Matt Walsh put it: The Republican Party outside of Florida has no message. No discipline. No leadership. No courage to confront the important issues head on. That’s why they’re losing to literally brain damaged candidates. We need a total overhaul. But I think I like Jeff Durbin’s take better: “Our nation won't see meaningful and lasting change apart from Christ through any election. Transformation comes through regeneration and repentance. Hope is in the King and not the legislature. Red without His blood is meaningless. Conservative without Christ is futile.” https://www.axios.com/2022/11/09/nevada-senate-election-results?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=editorial&utm_source=twitter Results in Nevada Senate race delayed due to paper ballots Nevada's midterm election results have been delayed, according to local election officials, leaving the state's high-stakes Senate race outcome in the balance as of early Wednesday. Driving the news: Two counties where the vast majority of Nevada voters reside aren't expected to start counting some mail-in ballots until Wednesday, The Nevada Independent reported. In Clark County, a shortage of election workers was causing the delay, while Washoe County received large volumes of mail and drop-off ballots, per the Independent, which spoke to county officials. Nevada state law also allows mail-in ballots to arrive days after Election Day so long as they are postmarked by Nov. 8, per Forbes. Nevada's race is one of four key Senate battlegrounds that remained uncalled early Wednesday. Georgia, Wisconsin and Arizona are also unresolved. What they're saying: "Clark is not counting drop boxes tonight, but, to be clear, we said all along that we would only have some of the results on election night," Jennifer Russell, a spokesperson for the Nevada secretary of state, told NBC News Tuesday. "By law, Nevada counties have until Nov. 12 to receive mail ballots." "We're all used to elections where it was as simple as plugging in USB sticks and running the results," Bethany Drysdale, a spokesperson for Washoe County, told the Reno Gazette Journal. "We can't do that now because there are so many paper ballots. It's going to take longer. This is the new normal for election night." https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/2022-midterm-elections-voting-results-predictions-candidates-updates Key races across the country still being called, House, Senate majorities still up for grabs Georgia Senate results: Warnock, Walker tell supporters to hang tight with race too close to call The United States Senate race in Georgia does not have a clear winner as neither incumbent Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock nor his Republican challenger Herschel Walker have claimed an outright majority of the vote so far. As of Wednesday morning, the race is too close to call, according to the Fox News Decision Desk, with more than 3.8 million ballots cast and Warnock leading Walker by approximately 35,000 votes. Warnock holds 49.42% of the vote, with 1,935,464 votes in his favor, and Walker has 48.52% with 1,900,168 votes. Third-party candidate Chase Oliver has 80,895 votes with 97.94% of precincts reporting. Georgia law requires a candidate to surpass 50% of the vote to win an election, and a runoff between the top two vote-getters will be held on Dec. 6 if no candidate meets that requirement. Stacey Abrams, after election loss, vows 'I won’t stop running for a better Georgia' Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams lost to Gov. Brian Kemp for the second time on Tuesday, but indicated that she does not plan on exiting the political arena. Abrams gave a concession speech on Election Night after results showed that she had lost to Kemp in a race that was not particularly close. Abrams famously declined to formally concede to Kemp in 2018 after a narrow defeat, claiming at the time that the election was rigged by voter suppression. This time around, she made no such claim and only looked to the future. Alabama election results: Republican Katie Britt becomes state's first female elected senator Republican Katie Britt has made history by becoming the first woman to be elected to the U.S. Senate from Alabama. The self-described 40-year-old "mama on a mission" is projected by Fox News’ Decision Desk to defeat Democrat Will Boyd after, so far, capturing around two thirds of the vote. Republican George Santos flips Democratic House seat in New York Republican George Santos flipped New York’s 3rd Congressional district Wednesday and secured another House seat for the GOP. Santos defeated Democrat Robert Zimmerman, who was vying to fill the Long Island seat after Democrat Rep. Tom Suozzi announced he would be retiring to take a stab at New York governor. Suozzi came in a distant third in the Democratic primaries in the governor’s race, but Santos secured his place in Congress by running on cutting taxes, boosting border security and rallying against cashless bail. The Associated Press called the race shortly after 1:30 a.m. once the Republican held a lead of 54.2% of the vote over Zimmerman’s 45.8%, with 90% of the votes already counted. It’s worth noting that Santos is a homosexual… so we need to be praying for his repentance on that front. ‘Squad’ rolls to easy victories in House races Perhaps the worst news of the day… The progressive House members collectively known as the “Squad” easily won reelection in their respective elections on Tuesday. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., Cori Bush, D-Mo., and Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., were all projected by The Associated Press as winning by wide margins. Bowman, who represents New York's 16th Congressional District comprising parts of the Bronx and Westchester County, had the slimmest margin of victory and yet still was leading 65%-34% against Republican challenger Miriam Flisser, with more than 91% of results reporting. Ocasio-Cortez, Omar, Pressley, and Tlaib were the founding members of the "Squad," who gained notoriety as freshman lawmakers after the 2018 election for pushing the Democratic House conference to the left. Bush and Bowman joined the informal group after winning election in 2020. Westminster Effects: Have a guitarist in your life? Kentucky voters reject constitutional amendment declaring no right to abortion Voters in Republican-leaning Kentucky have rejected a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would have denied any right to abortion. The result of Tuesday’s election comes months after the Supreme Court overturned the right to abortion in a decision that has led to near-total bans in a dozen states, including in Kentucky. The ballot question had asked Kentuckians if they wanted to amend the constitution to say: "To protect human life, nothing in this Constitution shall be construed to secure or protect a right to abortion or require the funding of abortion." The outcome highlights a gap between voters and the state’s Republican-controlled Legislature, which added the proposed amendment to the 2022 general election slate a year ago in a move some thought would drive more conservative voters to the polls. While seen as an important win for abortion-rights advocates, the amendment's defeat will have no practical impact on the right to an abortion if a sweeping ban on the procedure approved by lawmakers survives a legal challenge presently before the state Supreme Court. Michigan voters pass measure protecting abortion rights, other pregnancy-related decisions The people of the state of Michigan voted in favor of a new measure that protects abortion and other decisions related to reproduction and pregnancy. Proposal 3 amends the state constitution by adding rights to abortion and contraception. It states that everyone has a "fundamental right to reproductive freedom," defining this as including -- but not being limited to -- "prenatal care, childbirth, postpartum care, contraception, sterilization, abortion care, miscarriage management, and infertility care." The measure also allows the state to regulate abortion after the time a fetus becomes viable. The approval of the proposal came months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which gave states the power to protect or ban abortion. The decision in June lead to near-total bans in a dozen states and was a hot topic leading up to the midterms. The passing of the proposal puts a definitive end to a 1931 ban on abortion that had been blocked in court, but could have been reviewed. Opponents to the measure said protecting abortion rights could have far-reaching effects on other laws in the state, such as one requiring parental notification of an abortion for someone under age 18. Legal experts said changes to other laws would only happen if someone sued and won, a process that could take years and has no certainty of success, The Associated Press reported. One Minute Retirement Tip with Ashley

The theme this week on the Retirement Quick Tips Podcast is: Are You Sabotaging Your Investments Because Of Your Political Views? Happy Election Day! If you're a Republican and the polls and predictions are correct, I think you'll be a happy camper this evening. If you're a democrat, well I guess it depends on where you live and at least you had your fun in 2020 with a full sweep.  I live in the suburbs of Portland, Oregon. I was born here and have lived here pretty much my whole life, and it's quite possible that we could have a republican governor for the first time in like 40+ years in Oregon. Oregon is a very blue state, so the fact that republican Christine Drazen even has a chance is really interesting. As I record this podcast, she's leading in the polls, and because of that, the governor race has even attracted national media attention. I was shocked the first time I read an article about Drazen in the Wall Street Journal. If California is Marcia Brady, then Oregon is kind of like Jan Brady. Nobody pays much attention to us up here on the northside of California, so that was the first time I realized that a republican vote in a governor's race might actually mean something in Oregon.  We have mail in voting here in Oregon, so I've long since voted and now I'll just watch with bated breath to see what happens this evening.  One thing I don't expect when I wake up the morning after election day is a strong stock market reaction. Markets tend not to care all that much about election outcomes, even in the short-term, and whether Congress and the White House are blue, red, or deadlocked with both, thankfully it doesn't impact the big picture all that much.  I'll talk more specifically later this week on the ways which elections can influence markets, but whether you're elated or depressed after tonight's election outcome, you can at least rest assured that whatever that outcome is, it's unlikely to have much impact on your investment portfolio.  That's it for today. After getting his masters at USC Fim School Tolajian jumped back into the world of Sports Television, directing what is hailed as one of the best 30 for 30's of all time, Once Brothers, and has gone on to be a top creative executive at the Pac 12 Network and Fox Sports. Michael details how a Civil War destroyed the once brotherly relationship between Drazen Petrovic and Vlade Divac. It's impressive to find out how he was able to get Vlade and Drazen's family to be so open and honest.  We then transition to a story you may not have ever heard of, Q Ball.  Well let's just say Michael went to San Quentin Prison and filmed the story of convicts who earn the right to hoop vs members of the Golden State Warriors staff.  I simplified it but it's much deeper than that and we get to hear all about it on this episode of Beyond the Lens.

The name Drazen Petrovic might not be familiar to many of today’s NBA fans. But for those who recall the early 1990s and the sudden rise of the then New Jersey Nets, Drazen Petrovic is a name that brings up memories of a sharpshooting guard, a star on the rise, and man whose life was tragically cut short in a head-on collision along the famed autobahn. Petrovic, born in Croatia, had a passion for basketball matched by few. Every waking second, every chance he had, he was practicing the game. Gym rat? That was Drazen Petrovic. And he didn’t just practice shooting. He practiced and drilled virtually every aspect of the game as often as possible from the time he was a young schoolboy. Drazen had a goal, he wanted to play in the NBA. And he worked hard. He played for his local Sibenik, Croatia team. He also played for Cibona and Rea Madrid. He olayed on the international stage. He caught the eye of Notre Dame’s Digger Phelps. He caught the eye of the Portland Trailblazers too and they made him a 3rd round selection in the 1986 NBA Draft. After legal battles, jumping through hurdles, and gaining his release from Real Madrid, Drazen finally made it to the NBA. At first, though it was quite disappointing. Drazen saw little playing time as the Blazers were a title contender. In fact, in Drazen’s first year, Portland made it to the NBA Finals against the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons. Drazen’s second year was even more disappointing as he slid further down the bench and he demanded a trade. Portland obliged and sent Drazen to the Nets. Drazen adapted to the Nets style of play, worked hard and ultimately became the team’s leader. Drazen had an electric personality and knew how to get a rise out of the crowd, could shoot the ball from virtually anywhere on the court, and gained the respects of his fellow players and coaches. He led the Nets to the playoffs. But that’s when tragedy struck. Author Todd Spehr, who wrote the book, “The Mozart of Basketball; The Remarkable Life and Legacy of Drazen Petrovic,” joins the podcast from Australia to talk about the man voted by his fellow players as the greatest European Basketball Player in history. On a cold and ominous Sunday, December 7, 1941, Major League Baseball’s owners were gathered in Chicago for their annual winter meetings, just two months after one of the sport’s greatest seasons. For the owners, the dramatic news of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor earlier that morning was not only an assault on the United States, but also a direct threat to the future of the national pastime itself. League owners were immediately worried about the players they were likely to lose to military service, but also feared a complete shutdown of the looming 1942 season – and perhaps beyond.  But with the carefully cultivated support of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, organized baseball continued uninterrupted – despite numerous calls to shut it down. Authors David Hubler and Josh Drazen (The Nats and the Grays: How Baseball in the Nation’s Capital Survived WWII and Changed the Game Forever) join host Tim Hanlon to discuss the impact of World World II on the two major professional teams in Washington, DC – the American League’s Senators (aka Nationals), and the Negro National League’s Homestead Grays – as well as the impact of the war on big league baseball as a whole, including: How a strong friendship between Senators owner Clark Griffith and Roosevelt kept the game alive during the war years, often in the face of strong opposition for doing so; The continual uncertainties clubs faced as things like the military draft, national resources rationing and other wartime regulations affected both the sport and American day-to-day life; AND The Negro Leagues’ constant struggle for recognition, solvency, and integration. PLUS:  The origin of the twi-night doubleheader! AND:  The ceremonial first-pitch ambidexterity of President Harry Truman! Medicine is powered by knowledge, but how do we know what is true and what is not? How do we deal with uncertainty in a setting where outcomes are not closely related to known variables? For example, although there are a few people who have survived jumping or falling from an airplane at high altitude (http://zidbits.com/2010/12/can-you-survive-a-freefall-without-a-parachute/), it is a rare event. Thus, a test to determine how to prevent death from such a disaster would only take a small number of participants to see if a particular method works. In contrast, when considering a medical condition where a large fraction of people might seemingly "recover" without treatment, such as tuberculosis (http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/who104/en/print.html), how does one determine if a treatment is effective? In this talk, I will examine how we gained knowledge about tuberculosis as an example of a disease where a combination of observational scientific findings and clinical trial data are linked to advance knowledge. I will also discuss other examples of clinical trials challenges and the solutions to these challenges.

-Peppe

Drazen Petrovic biographer, Todd Spehr. Personally, this is an extra-special episode. My great friend of almost fifteen years, Todd Spehr, just released a biography on the life and times of Drazen Petrovic. I invited another great mate of mine (and NB85 co-host), Aaron, to also chat with Todd, earlier this week. For more than three years, Todd has been consumed with the life of Drazen Petrovic. Thanks to exhaustive research - he interviewed over 70 people - the resulting book offers comprehensive coverage of Drazen's incredible rise from Europe to the NBA. It is a book of stories, told by those who knew Petrovic best. Drazen blazed a trail (no pun intended) and was a pioneer for Europeans in the NBA, including Sarunas Marciulionis, Arvydas Sabonis, Stojko Vrankovic, Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc, Dino Radja & Peja Stojakovic, to name just a few. We discuss behind-the-scenes details of the book, including the interview process, the depths of Todd's research and countless hours of game film (some, never seen before) he studied, giving him a unique insight on a player who was already a legend in his native country, before he set foot in the United States of America. To borrow a quote from the book's promotional materials, 'Drazen is a tribute to the determination and spirit Petrovic brought to every aspect of his short, brilliant life'. Dylan Drazen live @ Club Reset, Madrid, Spain - NightVision Techno PODCAST 3 Pt. 2 160 minute techno set performed live at club reset in madrid. BIO: Dylan Drazen is one of America's most well traveled and globally respected techno DJs. Despite his nature to fly steadily below the world's Superstar DJ radar over the past decade, Dylan has gained legions of devoted fans in worldwide broadband bedrooms who purr at the thought of him appearing in their home town. Dylan is obsessed with finding and exposing new music. Professionally trained as a studio sound engineer, it was inevitable he'd start to create his own. His original productions have been showcased under esteemed labels like François K.'s Clicktracks and Chicago's Blueline, Montreal's Ascend and Sweden's G-Force. But most of his classic distorted hard techno work can be found in the archive of Brooklyn's Remains Records, run by Side Four co-pilot Tony Rohr. Several of Drazen's tracks have been licensed for DJ mixes, including compilations from Chris Liebing, Frankie Bones, Germany's Scranzwerk series, WaveTec, and Portugal's Kaos house imprint. Dylan's most recent studio credits come as mix engineer for large scale mix CD compilations, from Ultra Records' Out.Anthems (in which he has a featured track) to the underground New York 2 "tha" Bone double CD for 2007. The onset of Dylan Drazen's DJ career occurred in 1993; now he's performed in four continents and his musical memory is an encyclopedia of dance music history. When not on the road, he's either mining beats in his Brooklyn studio or diligently searching for set material in the troughs of New York's record shops. His productions span the arenas of house and techno--hard, tribal, deep, floating, pushing and swirling. Impossible to put to words, it's usually hour four into one of his extended sets where every style comes together--blending, lifting, causing a style unto its own. During performances, Dylan's preferred musical palate consists of three decks, a couple of CD players, a looping sampler and outboard effects. During his frequent shows in Spain it's typical to see him grabbing, twisting and manipulating clusters of knobs buttons and faders, all precisely moved to follow his momentary sonic path. They often call him "un máquina," chasing the inspiration flowing through him. Nothing is planned until seconds before it occurs, and when it does, it is extremely deliberate. Sometimes daring and unexpected but strangely fitting sounds are injected into the system on the fly, displaying a true love for his craft. Not afraid to experiment, he risks humiliation before thousands. Given a few hours of warming up, Dylan Drazen will challenge your taste and sense of what a DJ should be. Few master the flow of seamless genre shifting within one set with such technical mastery. His techno roots show as he occasionally dips into the more popular world of tribal and deep house. But he's also been known to execute sessions of straight ahead metallic techno without an ounce of deviation. Many factors contribute to where a set will go, but the final product won't be known, even to Dylan, until it's over. Relentlessly rising as one of the world's primary international dance music luminaries, Dylan has even occasionally been granted access to the teched out booths in the most respected past and present nightclubs in his own backyard: Avalon, Arc, The Tunnel, Twilo and Exit. Refusing politics, a true hero to the underground, Dylan Drazen displays equal parts skill and sonic finesse, giving proof to the dream that living what you love can become a reality. Tracklist: 01.
