When most people think about blood pressure, they think about a once-a-year reading at a doctor's office. But one measurement on one day doesn't tell you much about your cardiovascular health. Just like a single fasting glucose number doesn't reveal your metabolic state, a one-off blood pressure check is largely meaningless. Blood pressure fluctuates throughout the day based on stress, sleep, exercise, hydration, and countless other factors. And even more important: the cuff on your arm measures brachial pressure — not the central pressure your heart and organs actually experience. That distinction matters. The true risk isn't just the number on a cuff, it's how elastic your arteries are and how much pressure your aorta is under. Elastic vessels absorb the shock of each heartbeat, while stiff ones reflect it back toward the heart and raise central pressure. That's why arterial stiffness is such a strong predictor of cardiovascular risk, especially as we age or when diet and lifestyle accelerate inflammation and plaque buildup. In this episode, I explain how modern devices can go beyond a simple systolic/diastolic reading. Using pulse wave analysis, they can estimate central blood pressure, pulse pressure, augmentation pressure, augmentation index, and oxygen supply-demand balance in the heart muscle. I share some of my own readings — including cases where a cuff reading looked “high” but the deeper markers showed excellent elasticity and low central pressure. It's a reminder that context matters far more than one isolated number. The takeaway is clear: don't let a single reading define your health. Look at patterns over time. Pay attention to central pressure and vessel elasticity. And above all, address the lifestyle drivers that really move the needle — diet, sleep, movement, stress, and balancing electrolytes like sodium and potassium. Elevated blood pressure is not written in your genes; it's usually written in your habits. Learn more:

Leveraging Facebook for monetization and audience growth, leaning into short-form video, and creating relatable content with Jessica Robinson from A Farm Girl's Kitchen. ----- Welcome to episode 538 of The Food Blogger Pro Podcast! This week on the podcast, Bjork interviews Jessica Robinson from A Farmgirl's Kitchen. How Jessica Robinson Built a Profitable Food Brand Without SEO From publishing her first two cookbooks to launching her site, Jessica walks us through the early days of her journey as a food creator and the strategies she used to help her gain momentum — fast! She talks about why she chose to focus on Pinterest and Facebook instead of traditional SEO and how those choices paid off, allowing her to monetize her business within just a few months. Jessica shares her tips for growing her audience on social media, monetizing through the Facebook Content Monetization program and Amazon affiliate links, and how her short-form videos not only drive traffic but also boost her SEO. With over 430k followers on Facebook and a rapidly expanding presence across platforms, Jessica emphasizes the importance of diversifying income streams and traffic sources and connecting with her audience through relatable, authentic content and storytelling. Three episode takeaways: Lean into the concept of being ‘expert enough' — Jessica monetized her site within three months by focusing on Pinterest and later Facebook and skipping SEO-heavy strategies in favor of visual platforms with viral potential. She really focuses on analytics and is constantly evolving and pivoting based on what is working (and what isn't working anymore). Facebook can be a powerful traffic and revenue source — With over 430k followers, Facebook is Jessica's #2 traffic driver and brings in $1,500–$3,000 monthly from the Facebook monetization program — excluding the additional income Jessica receives from affiliate income and search traffic. Jessica shares more about her posting strategy and how viral videos on Facebook contribute to her SEO strategy. The importance of short-form video — Consistently posting relatable, engaging recipe videos with a focus on storytelling helps Jessica grow her audience — all while connecting deeply with her community. Zack Demopoulos's story begins with his upbringing as the proud son of Greek immigrants, whose journey to the United States instilled in him a deep sense of gratitude, resilience, and responsibility. He shares how his family's experiences shaped his values and work ethic, from working in his father's restaurant as a teenager to pursuing higher education and a successful corporate career. Zack's life took a dramatic turn in 2006 when he was suddenly thrust into the role of caregiver for his father after a major stroke, all while balancing a demanding job and a young family of his own.Throughout the episode, Zack candidly discusses the emotional, logistical, and financial challenges of caregiving, including the complexities of sibling dynamics and the importance of open communication and planning. He reflects on the mistakes and lessons learned during his father's illness, such as the need to involve siblings, have difficult end-of-life conversations, and seek out resources—even when they seem limited. Zack's journey didn't end with his father; he later became a key support for his mother, applying the hard-earned wisdom from his earlier experiences to ensure her well-being and dignity. Now, Zack channels his expertise and empathy into advocacy for working caregivers. Drawing on his background in HR, home care, and personal caregiving, he collaborates with his partner Selma to develop resources and support systems for employees balancing work and caregiving responsibilities. Zack's story is a testament to the resilience of caregivers and the critical need for greater awareness, support, and compassion in both families and workplaces.About Zack:Zack Demopoulos along with his partner Selma Archer founded ieadvocates llc, or Invisible Employee Advocates, a consulting firm created to support working caregivers by working with their employers. He has over 36 years of diverse experience working in the corporate and small business environments. His expertise spans across sales management; executive leadership; human resources; diversity, equity, and inclusion; small business; board leadership; and caregiving. Zack along with his wife Phyllis founded and operated a home care agency for 13 years, helping over 500 families care for their family loved ones, and hiring over 700 professional caregivers to provide that care. Zack is a caregiver advocate as well as a caregiver--long distance for his mother who is in a nursing home in Charlotte NC. He commutes 1-2 x every four months to spend time with her and be her advocate. Zack with his wife, Phyllis, reside in New Jersey and spend significant time with their family who live nearby and include 2 rescue dogs, three adult children, their spouses, and 3 grandchildren.Thank you to sponsor: CareScoutSupport the showConfessions of a Reluctant Caregiver Sisterhood of Care, LLC Website: www.confessionsofareluctantcaregiver.com Like us on Facebook! Celebrate a decade of AlzAuthors with this replay of a film discussion from our first film festival! Marianne Sciucco and the AlzAuthors community gathered to discuss Susie Singer Carter's documentary series No Country for Old People, inspired by her painful but illuminating journey alongside her mother in a five-star Los Angeles nursing facility. Key Topics Behind the Film: Susie shares what drove her to make No Country for Old People, highlighting the persistent systemic crises in long-term care and her struggle to advocate for her mom within a broken system. She discusses both personal and policy challenges—from underfunding and understaffing to navigating Medicaid and family caregiver roles.Caregiving Realities: Multiple audience members and guests brought their own lived experiences—from those who have placed loved ones in care homes to those doing the daily grind at their side. Honest input covers the isolation and exhaustion of caregiving, the guilt and judgments faced, and the varied trajectories and needs of those with dementia.Systemic and Cultural Barriers: The episode reveals the complexities behind facility care: understaffing, high turnover, the business model of elder care, and how profit-driven motives can lead to neglect, overmedication, and a lack of dignity for residents.Advocacy and Taking Action: Susie announced the ROAR initiative—Respect, Oversight, Advocacy, and Reform for Long Term Care. She stresses the urgent need for grassroots collective action and oversight to drive meaningful change for people living with dementia and their caregivers. Standout Quotes from Susie Singer Carter “Love is super powerful. I think it's our greatest tool.”“Documentaries are not money makers. They are changemakers at best.”“We have a broken system... But it's so important to know what's out there and what's really happening.” Takeaways Caregiver stories are unique—what works (or doesn't) varies case by case. The importance of advocacy and family involvement doesn't end with placement in a facility; sometimes, it increases.Systemic reforms are desperately needed, and community effort can move the needle.Connection, creativity, and compassion remain vital tools in the caregiving journey. Over the past few years, I've heard several people suggest that "blogging is dead." However, one of my favorite coaching clients earns her primary income from her blog and also hosts retreats and an annual conference for an entire community of food bloggers who earn an income from their blogging efforts. So I invited my client, Megan Porta, and asked her the question, "Can you still make money blogging in 2025?" Short answer: Yes. It's doable. It looks different than it did a decade ago. It requires real passion, patience, and a focus on what serves readers right now. Below are thorough show notes to meet you exactly where you are. If you want to start or revive a blog as a real income stream, these notes double as a step-by-step primer. What This Episode Covers Why blogging still pays when you pair patience with passion Megan has seen brand-new bloggers “crushing it.” The difference now is you cannot fake it. Your readers and Google both know when you do. Authenticity wins. The fastest realistic path to first income Join a quality ad network once your traffic qualifies. We name the two big players and their current thresholds. We also discuss why Google SEO and Pinterest are still the two traffic pillars that move the needle. Niching way down to win Broad “everything” blogs struggle today. Specific sub-niches serve specific people and get rewarded. Think “vegan cakes” instead of “vegan.” The love for your topic has to show up in every post. The collaboration playbook for early momentum Smart email list swaps. Contributing value inside the right Facebook groups without spamming. How one helpful post can put a niche creator “on the map” in months. Income beyond ads Digital products. Memberships. Sponsorships. How to think about affiliate income post-HCU and what still works if you are selective. Platform and tech choices that save you pain Why WordPress.org with solid hosting is still the move. Why a VPS and proactive security matter. Real-world cautionary tales about updates, backups, and malware. Key Takeaways and Insights 1) Yes, you can still get paid to blog. The bar is higher. If you bring patience and genuine expertise, you can absolutely build an income today. People starting in the last year or two are succeeding. The difference is the landscape. Authenticity and user value must drive your strategy. 2) Niche inside the niche Winning examples are laser-specific. Pick a tight segment of a larger category, then become unmistakably helpful to that reader. This is how you break through and build trust. 3) Traffic plan: SEO and Pinterest first To qualify for premium ad networks, prioritize traffic that comes from search and Pinterest. Current thresholds discussed in the episode: Mediavine at roughly 50,000 sessions per month and Raptive at roughly 100,000 pageviews per month. Build to those numbers, then let ad RPMs start compounding. 4) Collaboration without spam Use email list collaborations. Show up consistently inside large, topic-relevant Facebook groups. Earn trust by answering questions with real substance. This moves traffic quickly when your niche is dialed in. 5) Create on-topic, helpful content Google's Helpful Content updates pushed bloggers to stay tightly aligned with user intent. Keep posts on point for your niche. Tangential personal stories and off-topic content dilute perceived expertise and can hurt discoverability. 6) Monetization mix that works in 2025 Display Ads once you hit network thresholds. This becomes semi-passive as your library grows. Digital Products as quick wins: ebooks, guides, weekly prep plans. These are simple to produce and match your audience's immediate needs. Memberships if your audience is invested. Price points in food niches commonly range from about 5 to 20 dollars per month, often for ad-free experiences or exclusive content. Tech options include WordPress setups and hosted communities such as Circle, Skool, Slack, Discord, Mighty Networks, and niche tools like Member Kitchens. Sponsorships when you can articulate your audience's value. Niche reach can beat raw follower counts if you understand a sponsor's acquisition economics and lifetime value. Affiliate Income is trickier after recent updates. It can still work at higher commissions or with premium offers. Treat it as a supplemental play, not your core plan. 7) Stack the tech in your favor Choose WordPress.org for full control, proven SEO flexibility, and extensibility. Invest in good hosting. A VPS with strong uptime guarantees is worth it. Expect to pay roughly 89 to 150 dollars per month for reliability that protects your revenue. Treat security and backups as non-negotiables. Plugins and themes require regular updates. Malware exploits often come from simple neglect. Have a pro who can restore fast. This avoids losing days or weeks or years of content. Practical Playbook Phase 1. Choose a narrow niche and validate demand List ten posts your ideal reader would save today. Ensure all are tightly aligned with one outcome your niche cares about. Keep stories and extras on-topic so Google sees topical authority. Phase 2. Protect the asset Run WordPress.org on a reliable VPS and keep everything updated. Assign backups and security to a pro so you do not risk outages or data loss. Phase 3. Build a traffic engine Publish high-quality posts that answer exact questions your audience asks. Optimize for search and create Pinterest assets for each post. Aim for Mediavine or Raptive thresholds to unlock ad revenue. Phase 4. Accelerate through collaboration Join large, relevant Facebook groups. Contribute substantial answers that stand on their own. Start tasteful email list collaborations for quick, qualified traffic. Phase 5. Layer monetization Add an easy digital product that solves a specific use case. Test a simple membership once engagement is strong. Pitch sponsors when you can quantify your audience's fit and value. If you've ever wondered how to grow a thriving online craft business while raising six kids and staying grounded in faith, today's episode is for you. I'm joined by the inspiring Colette Barron, the heart and hands behind Blessings Craft Therapy. Colette has built a beautiful community of nearly a million followers across platforms by showing up with consistency, creativity, and compassion. From humble beginnings with Facebook Lives to viral videos on YouTube, her story will both encourage and challenge you to step boldly into your calling. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode215 From MLM to DIY CEO Colette didn't start out with plans to be a content creator. In fact, she was working in the medical field before stepping back to raise her family. But with creative energy bubbling over, she began sharing easy, Dollar Tree-inspired crafts online. At first, she joined an MLM company, but it wasn't long before she realized it wasn't the right fit. She felt the nudge to create something of her own—and she did. What began as 3–4 minute Facebook videos turned into a full-time business built on creativity and consistency. Her secret? Showing up every day, sharing something doable, and focusing on quick wins for her audience. A Mindset Shift That Changed Everything One of the biggest turning points in Colette's journey was shifting her mindset from “What can you do for me?” to “What can I do for you?” That simple, powerful change—focusing on serving her audience—transformed how she created content. Rather than selling or pushing products, she focused on making people smile, giving them a pause in their day, and building confidence through crafting. And it worked. The Power of a Tagline and a Smile If you've seen Colette's videos, you already know her signature signoff: “Now it's your turn. Go make something pretty.” It's more than a phrase—it's a mission. It invites creativity, encourages action, and reminds her audience they're capable of creating beauty, too. How She Gets It All Done Colette is a mom of six and a homeschooler, but she still manages to create consistent content across multiple platforms. Her secret? Batching. Mondays are for planning and prepping content Tuesdays are for shopping for DIY supplies Wednesdays are for filming all of her crafts The rest of the week is spent editing, homeschooling, and managing her home She also repurposes her long-form YouTube videos into short videos for Facebook, allowing her to multiply her content without recreating it. And her best tip? Record voiceovers in the car—it's quiet, soundproof, and distraction-free! The Platform She Loves the Most While she started on Facebook, Colette says YouTube is her favorite platform. Why? It's easier to manage and schedule The monetization is stronger and more consistent You don't have to feed the algorithm as often She compares it to feeding someone a good meal once a week vs. feeding them fast food all day every day (hello, Facebook). The Secret to Staying Consistent It's not always easy, but Colette says obedience keeps her going. She feels a calling to do this work—not just for her family or her audience, but because she believes God asked her to. That motivation helps her keep showing up, especially when things get hard. She also mentioned that people are watching—her kids, her followers—and she wants to lead by example. Faith at the Core Colette's faith weaves through everything she does. At first, she wasn't sure how to bring it into her business. But after a powerful moment of prayer in her car, she knew it was time to share more openly. Now, she shares morning devotionals in her Instagram Stories and plans to launch a podcast called Created to Create that will blend faith, business, and creativity. One Post Away Colette reminded us that growth often comes from one post that resonates deeply. A Dollar Tree plunger project and a single YouTube video both went viral and changed everything. But neither would have happened without the daily commitment to show up and serve. “You're just one post away,” she says—and it's a reminder we all need. Where to Find Colette You can follow Colette at Blessings Craft Therapy on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Pinterest. On TikTok, she's @blessedcolette. On Healthy Waves, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Dr. Braxton Nguyen, chiropractor and clinic owner of Access Health Centers (Portland & Beaverton), to break down why posture isn't cosmetic—it's structural and neurological. We cover the most common desk mistakes, simple daily corrections, how core strength and ergonomics protect your spine, and why “structure affects function” (breath, energy, cognition). Dr. Nguyen shares his sports-injury origin story, the risks of masking pain with meds, and evidence-based ways to correct alignment before degeneration sets in. Tight, actionable, and designed to help you feel and perform better—at work and in life. About the guest : Dr. Braxton Nguyen is a chiropractor and Chiropractic BioPhysics® practitioner, founder of Access Health Centers in Portland and Beaverton. After a major knee injury in high school led to chronic pain, he pursued spine-focused, evidence-based care to correct structure, restore function, and help patients avoid unnecessary surgeries. Key takeaways: Structure drives function. Posture isn't just looks—spinal alignment influences the nervous system, breathing capacity, energy, and mental focus. The silent culprit at desks: Slouching pulls the head forward, rounds shoulders, and collapses the low back—cascading stress from neck to lumbar spine. Ergonomics that actually work: Feet flat, back supported, screen at eye level, elbows near 90°, and a small lumbar support to keep the natural curve. Move every 30 minutes. Micro-breaks and posture resets prevent repetitive-strain accumulation (alternate sit/stand if possible). Train the core daily. Neutral pelvis, lower-ab activation, and gentle desk drills stabilize alignment without special gear. Mind–body cues: Use an “invisible string” visual—lift crown, stack ears over shoulders, shoulders over hips—to re-educate posture on the fly. Breath = posture. Opening the ribcage improves oxygenation and clarity; rounded posture restricts lung expansion. It's rarely “too late.” Early evaluation can halt/slow degeneration; structural corrective care (including imaging) personalizes rehab paths. Recovery story: A sports injury, persistent pain, and concern about reliance on opioids pushed Dr. Nguyen toward structural, root-cause solutions. Build with purpose. For health pros and founders: lead with mission and patient outcomes—people feel authenticity and follow through. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty talks with Becca Eve Young—former corporate strategist turned author and transformational coach—about navigating burnout, dismantling the “societal script,” and rebuilding a life anchored in intuition. Becca shares how losing the job, marriage, and familiar identity in quick succession became the opening to stillness, journaling, meditation, and a more truthful version of success. If you're numb from overachieving or stuck in roles that don't fit, this conversation offers a clear, grounded path: turn down the noise, listen in, take one aligned step, then another. SEO: burnout recovery, messy middle, reinvention, intuition, mindset, mental health, transformation, simplicity, purpose, Becca Eve Young, Healthy Mind Healthy Life. About the Guest : Becca Eve Young is a storyteller and transformational coach. Her debut book, It's Gonna Get Messy, chronicles the honest, unpolished process of breaking from convention and choosing a soul-led life. Key Takeaways : Burnout isn't just “tired”; it's a collapse of self—numbing, going through motions, ignoring intuition. “Societal scripts” sell one path (title, house, image). Eight billion unique lives need eight billion scripts. Reinvention isn't a montage; it's quiet repetition: sit in silence, journal, meditate, notice what truly feels right, and say no without guilt. Small acts of alignment, done daily, loosen the hold of “shoulds” and rebuild inner authority. Turning off external programming (feeds, media, expectations) amplifies your inner signal. Loss (career, relationship, plans) can crack you open; healing isn't “back to before,” it's becoming more whole. Success can be far simpler than portrayed—less performance, more presence. Create a personal script: choose structure that supports your truth instead of adopting one that distorts it. Community response often respects authenticity over accolades; your choice to live honestly gives others permission to do the same. Practical starting points: schedule 10–15 minutes of silence daily, capture one honest page in a journal, identify one “obligation yes” to replace with a values-based no this week. The discussion features several experts who explore strategies for increasing online visibility and revenue, emphasizing the critical role of a strong website foundation, reliable hosting, and effective content creation, particularly through blogs and YouTube, to address customer questions. We also debate the impact of AI on search and the necessity of SEO versus relying on other traffic channels like TikTok, concluding that a unified, authoritative online presence is key to gaining trust and accelerating business growth.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Next Steps for Digital Marketing + SEO Services:>> Need SEO Services? Book a Complimentary SEO Discovery Call with Favour Obasi-Ike>> Need more information? Visit our Work and PLAY Entertainment website to learn about our digital marketing services.>> Visit our Official website for the best digital marketing, SEO, and AI strategies today!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------What marketing topics are central to this discussion? The core topics discussed are web optimization, technical SEO, and content marketing. Why are technical setup and content vital for a website? Technical and content aspects should work together to make your website an "optimized place" and an "optimized greenhouse" for your business online. When you combine technical elements and content, you create a much wider network and a more extensive resource. What does the term "optimization" imply? Optimization is equated with consistency. If a website is not being optimized consistently, it is metaphorically stuck, like a car not moving in a driveway. How should a business approach content creation to serve both people and algorithms? Website owners should write for people first, but they must also keep the search algorithm in mind. The goal is to create many pages that interlink, providing a journey from discovery to decision for the user, utilizing various formats like video, audio, infographics, FAQs, or glossaries. How does authorship relate to building credibility online? When content is created on your website, it should be attributed to an author page originating from the person writing the content. Including expert quotes within a blog that has your name attached builds credibility. Furthermore, having your name indexed by Google as a blog author via a profile link can put you ahead of the competition.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Technical SEO and Website FoundationWhat are the fundamental components necessary for a website? The process starts with your domain, followed by your hosting, and then your website. Key technical considerations include where you host the website, the CMS platform used, and how your DNS records are configured. Why is choosing a quality host important? You must have the correct hosting, meaning the host should not go down. Many cheap hosting services put literally thousands of websites on the same servers. It is better to pay more for a higher quality server. How can I monitor if my website is experiencing downtime? You can use free monitoring tools, such as Uptime Robot, which will monitor your website's uptime and send you an alert if the site goes offline. What is a major technical mistake regarding domain names? A "big one" is simply keeping track of your domain name. It is recommended to renew your domain name for a couple of years at a time, rather than just one year. What is the distinction between technical setup and content in an analogy? Technical SEO is like the exterior of a car—the battery, engine, oil, and fluids—determining speed and duration. Content marketing is the interior—the steering wheel, comfort, and aesthetics.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------AI, Schema, and Search StrategyWhat is the relationship between AI, search, and structured websites? The rise of AI suggests a thin line is developing between unstructured websites and structured websites. AI is actively affecting the way people search. What is schema, and how is it used on a website? Schema refers to structured data. When implementing schema on a web page, you should focus on elements like breadcrumbs, FAQs, and price/stock information, as these elements allow you to have a much higher signal. Structured data involves taking unstructured information (like a general blog post) and organizing it using visual elements, examples, statistics, and expert quotes. How can a business influence LLMs (Large Language Models) like ChatGPT? AI platforms (LLMs) seek to grab information. The "secret key" is to release news about your business through press releases. This process helps your information get into Google News, which the LLMs will then pick up.In terms of building authority, what should a business prioritize? The priority is to first be known, as you cannot be trusted if you are not known. Putting out content on how you solve problems is essential for gaining recognition. What specific content strategy is recommended for building authority (e.g., for an auto dealership)? A good strategy is to find long-tail keywords, particularly questions, using tools like ChatGPT or the "People Also Ask" section on Google results. Then, create content answering those questions, allocating one question per blog post. These articles should be at least 300 to 500 words long. To enhance this content, you can create and embed a related YouTube video on that specific blog page.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Content Distribution and Platform UseWhat platforms should be used to support a website's foundation? In addition to a strong website, you should have supporting foundations such as YouTube, social media, or news outlets. The game is distribution; the more you can distribute your content, the more you can increase your capacity. If a client is highly successful using a non-search channel (like TikTok), is SEO necessary? If a client has an amazing traffic funnel on a channel like TikTok or YouTube, they do not necessarily need SEO; they should focus on doing more of what is already working. However, if the market relies more on search, setting up a broad SEO net is highly recommended. What is the key difference in content interaction between Pinterest and Instagram? On Instagram, you can save a post, but you cannot click on the image to go to a destination link outside of the platform (unless you use the link in the bio). On Pinterest, you can click on an image, and it will take you to a destination link, providing a "soft backlink".What unique data intelligence does Pinterest provide to business owners? While Instagram saves are private, a business owner with a Pinterest business account can see the names of the boards that users saved their pins to (if the boards are public). This information tells the business owner what context the user assigned to the content (e.g., "mentorship," "food"). This data intelligence allows the business to create more relevant content. What category of platform is Pinterest considered? Pinterest is viewed as a hybrid of both search and social. People use Pinterest to plan. Why is it important to consider factors like font size in web content? When optimizing content, size matters. A font size of 20 pixels will likely be read faster than a font size of 12 pixels, as people often skim or scan content rather than reading every detail. Similarly, small text in emails can be ignored because people do not want to squint.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Glossary Term & DefinitionAuthorshipThe practice of associating content with a specific person or brand name. This builds credibility and helps Google and other search algorithms recognize the entity as an expert, which can improve search rankings.CMS (Content Management System)The software platform used to build and manage a website's content. The choice of CMS is a foundational technical decision that impacts how a site is built and maintained.Content MarketingThe strategic practice of creating and distributing various forms of media (text, audio, video, images) to attract and engage a target audience. In the session's car analogy, it represents the "interior" of the car—the user's experience.DeepseekAn AI search tool mentioned as an alternative to ChatGPT. It was noted for providing more detailed, contextual answers compared to just a list of questions, suggesting it performs a deeper data crawl.LLMs (Large Language Models)The AI systems, like ChatGPT, that power modern search and chat platforms. These models crawl the web for information, and the discussion focuses on how to get a website's content indexed and recommended by them.llms.txtA file, similar to robots.txt for search engines, that is intended to control how AI Large Language Models crawl and use a website's content.PinterestDescribed as a "hybrid of both search and social," this platform is highlighted as a powerful tool for web optimization. It functions like "Google Images," driving traffic through clickable pins and providing deep user insights through public board names.Press ReleaseA news announcement distributed to media outlets. It is presented as a key tactic to get a business featured in Google News, which helps it get noticed by LLMs and establishes the business as "known."SchemaA form of structured data markup added to a website's code. It helps search engines understand the content more deeply, enabling features like FAQs, price ranges, and breadcrumbs in search results, which is crucial for ranking in AI-driven search.Sigmoid CurveA concept mentioned by John to describe the adoption rate of new technology. It illustrates that different demographics (e.g., older vs. younger generations) are at different points on the curve in their adoption of tools like AI search.Technical SEOThe process of optimizing the technical aspects of a website to improve its performance and crawlability for search engines. In the session's car analogy, it represents the "exterior" and "under the hood" components like the engine and battery, which dictate speed and reliability.Uptime RobotA free online tool recommended for monitoring a website's availability. This podcast features Cameron Richards, LMT and Faiza Tahir of Somatic Massage Therapy and Spa. The central theme is a therapeutic and educational approach to skincare that extends beyond traditional spa facials.Faiza Tahir, an Esthetician with 13 years of experience, specializes in a holistic methodology, combining advanced in-office treatments with client education and at-home care. A core offering is the Face Reality "Acne Boot Camp," a 100-day program designed to clear acne through bi-weekly treatments and a dedicated product regimen. The spa's philosophy emphasizes treating the skin from both the inside and outside, using modern modalities like LED light therapy and providing clients with a deep understanding of product ingredients and proper skin maintenance. The overall client experience is designed to be efficient, with 50-minute sessions and no downtime, aiming to produce tangible results and a feeling of rejuvenation.Business and Contact InformationYou can connect with Somatic Massage Therapy and Spa through multiple channels for information or to book a free consultation.• Business Name: Somatic Massage Therapy and Spa• Location: 113 Jericho Turnpike, Floral Park, NY (on the border of western Queens and eastern Nassau County)• Website: somaticmassagepc.com• Phone (Call): 516-686-9557 ◦ Fisa's Direct Extension: 7• Phone (Text): 516-447-4373• Booking: Can be done online via somaticmassagepc.com/book-appointment or by calling in.• Remote Consultation: Prospective clients can text a picture of their skin concern for an initial assessment from Fisa.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Key Personnel and ExpertiseFaiza Tahir, Esthetician• Experience: 13 years in the aesthetics industry.• Education: Licensed through the New York Institute of Beauty (NYIB).• Certifications: Acne certified by Face Reality.• Dual Expertise: Holds experience working in both day spas and medical spas, giving her proficiency in both "relaxing facials" and "clinical graded facials."• Role: Serves as the Master Esthetician at Somatic Massage Therapy and Spa, performing all facials, peels, and skincare treatments. She is driven by a passion to "make a difference in the skins."Cameron Richards, Licensed Massage Therapist• Role: As a licensed massage therapist, Cameron highlights the critical need for skincare education, which he personally received from Faiza• Perspective: He emphasizes that the average consumer often lacks the knowledge to select appropriate skincare products, potentially causing more harm than good. He notes, "...if I don't know much imagine the average person out there who just walks into a Target Walgreens and just pick up anything off the shelf because they think it's going to work and they end up doing more harm."• Focus on Education: Cameron ensures that education is a key component of the client experience at the spa, particularly for men who may not be aware of proper skin cleansing and exfoliation techniques post-shaving.Core Skincare PhilosophyTherapeutic Treatments over Standard FacialsFaiza distinguishes the spa's services from conventional facials, framing them as targeted treatments.• Quote: "These are not only facials. These are therapeutical treatments we do. We do not use the word treatment at this spa, but these are the therapeutical... facial for them."• Day Spa vs. Med Spa: Fisa clarifies that while med spa products contain highly "active" ingredients used under a doctor's supervision, the spa's professional-grade products are highly effective and bring about significant changes in the skin.A Holistic "Inside and Out" ApproachThe treatment philosophy is comprehensive, addressing skin health from multiple angles.• External Healing: In-office treatments focus on healing the skin from the outside using professional products and modalities.• Internal Healing: Clients are provided with products, such as vitamins from the Face Reality line, to promote healing from within.• Hydration: The importance of hydration, both oral and topical, is stressed for all skin types, including acne-prone and mature skin.Specialized Acne Treatment Program: The Face Reality Boot CampA cornerstone of the spa's offerings is a structured, results-oriented program for acne clients.• Objective: To clear the client's skin within 100 days (approximately 3 months).• Process: 1. Free Consultation: The process begins with a skin analysis and a thorough review of the client's current home care products and their ingredients. 2. Bi-Weekly Treatments: Clients come in every two weeks for in-office procedures. 3. Dedicated Home Care: Clients are instructed to use Face Reality products at home, which Fisa describes as "amazing" and working "like a magic."• Results Timeline: Clients typically begin to see a noticeable difference in their skin after just three weeks of consistent in-office treatments and home care. The Client Journey and Treatment ExperienceConsultation and In-Office Procedure• Initial Step: The client journey starts with a free consultation to analyze the skin and educate the client about products that may be exacerbating their condition.• Treatment Duration: The in-office session is efficient, lasting approximately 50 minutes.• Treatment Steps: A standard session includes cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and calming the acne.• Client Feedback: Following a treatment, clients report a distinct sensation of freshness. Fisa notes, "Most of my client... they tell me... we are feeling that our skin is breathing now." This is attributed to clearing clogged pores, allowing oxygen to penetrate the skin.Post-Treatment and Downtime• No Downtime: Clients can immediately return to their daily activities.• Minor Side Effects: There may be slight edema (swelling) or redness for 20 minutes to one hour following extractions, but this subsides quickly.Available Technologies and Targeted ConcernsSomatic Massage Therapy and Spa is equipped with modern modalities to address a variety of skin concerns.Technology / Treatment PurposeSaluma LED Light TherapyUtilizes different light wavelengths to treat skin. On this Healthy Waves episode, host Avik digs into how aerospace-level problem-solving meets wellness tech. Guest Mark Fox (former Space Shuttle chief engineer, hot-air balloonist, and airplane builder) explains why he shifted from aircraft to energy-based wellness devices. We unpack what pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) and resonance-frequency approaches claim to do, how protocols are designed, portability and cost tradeoffs vs. legacy gear, and where AI-driven biometrics might steer the next decade. Direct, no fluff—just a clear look at what this tech promises, what users report, and what still needs rigorous proof for platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. About the guest : Mark Fox is an aerospace engineer turned wellness tech founder at Resona Health (resona.health). Drawing on systems thinking (including TRIZ creative problem-solving), he designs portable, non-invasive devices intended to support general well-being through frequency-based protocols. Key takeaways: Why the pivot: engineering skills can transfer from avionics to wellness when the goal is simpler, more accessible tools for everyday use. Frequency-based view: the talk frames the body as chemical, mechanical, and electrical—arguing wellness tools shouldn't ignore bio-electromagnetic processes. How protocols are built: “frequency pairs” change over time like chords in a song; many protocols emerged from decades of practitioner iteration. Portability and access: a pocket device aims to make sessions simpler and more affordable than clinic-only mats or large systems. Reported use cases: the guest discusses user-reported improvements in stress, HRV, sleep, pain, and more—presented as claims and ongoing studies, not medical advice. Safety framing: energy level and frequency matter; the device output described is far below MRI fields, though MRI safety analogies should not be read as equivalence in efficacy. AI + biometrics: future direction includes watches, cloud trends, and automated recommendations—raising opportunities and the need for privacy and validation. Bottom line: intriguing engineering applied to wellness; further independent, peer-reviewed evidence is essential before making health decisions. The Pressure of Police Work: From Cameras to Traps, Stress on Officers is Mounting. Police work has always carried unique challenges, but today's officers face pressures that go far beyond the streets. From cell phone cameras and so-called First Amendment Auditors setting traps, to command staff micromanagement and public confrontations, the stress can be overwhelming, sometimes career-ending. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Retired Riverside, Illinois Police Chief Tom Weitzel is our guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and most podcast platforms. “Policing has become like living in a fish tank,” said Tom Weitzel, retired Chief of the Riverside, Illinois Police Department. “You're under observation 24/7, from the public, from the media, even from your own bosses.” Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Weitzel, who served decades in law enforcement and now shares his experiences through the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast available for free on their website, in addition to Apple, Spotify, and many major podcast platforms. Also on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and more, said that while he had support from elected officials, not every chief or officer has that backing. Even with it, the stress remained constant. The Pressure of Police Work: From Cameras to Traps, Stress on Officers is Mounting. The Rise of First Amendment Auditors One modern source of stress is the growing number of First Amendment Auditors. These individuals record in public spaces, often focusing on police, to test how well constitutional rights are respected. While some see this as citizen journalism, others intentionally provoke officers, hoping to capture a misstep on video that can later be uploaded for views and income. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. “They set traps for police,” Weitzel explained. “If you react, you give them the content they're looking for. My advice to officers: remain calm. Don't take the bait.” These auditors often enter places like post offices, courthouses, or even police stations with cameras rolling. Their stated goal is to document potential constitutional violations. But for officers, the experience can feel less like accountability and more like harassment. The Pressure of Police Work: From Cameras to Traps. More Than Cameras Auditors aren't the only stressors. Officers face constant scrutiny from suspects, citizens, and even their own command staff. “You hear it all, ‘Do you know who I am?' or ‘I pay your salary,'” Weitzel said. “Add in the micromanaging from some bosses, shift work, the risk of violence, and the media's misrepresentation of facts, and it's no wonder so many officers struggle with stress.” The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. This stress doesn't stop at the badge. Weitzel shared how his own children, who also became police officers, faced the same pressures. “It's not just the officer who feels it, it's their families too.” The Privacy Dilemma Another issue is the erosion of privacy. Between body cameras, dash cams, and surveillance technology, many officers feel there's little space left for private conversations, performance reviews, or even mental health support. “Officers need safe spaces, whether it's during critical incident stress debriefings or when seeking help from employee assistance programs,” Weitzel said. “Without that, the stigma around mental health in policing just gets worse.”The Pressure of Police Work: From Cameras to Traps. The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Balancing transparency for the public with privacy for officers remains one of law enforcement's biggest challenges. A Village with a History Weitzel's career was rooted in Riverside, Illinois, a historic suburban village of 9,298 residents just nine miles west of downtown Chicago. Known as the nation's first planned suburb and home to architectural landmarks, Riverside also has a storied history with figures like Claude “Screwy” Maddox and Frank Nitti, allies of Al Capone. But for Weitzel, Riverside was more than history, it was the community he served. And now, in retirement, he continues to serve by speaking openly about the realities of policing. His resonates across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and beyond. Continuing the Conversation “The stress is real, and it can be devastating,” Weitzel emphasized. “But we need to talk about it, not hide it.” The Pressure of Police Work: From Cameras to Traps, Stress on Officers is Mounting. Weitzel shares these conversations on his interview on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, also on Apple, Spotify, and most major podcast platforms. Updates can also be found on their Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and more. He dives deeper into the unseen pressures of law enforcement and what can be done to better support officers. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, we explore how theater can be both mirror and hammer—reflecting our times while shaping them. Playwright–director Karen Malpede discusses her forthcoming memoir Last Radiance: Radical Lives, Bright Deaths (out in October), caregiving for her late husband and collaborator George Bartenieff, and why nonviolent traditions (Gandhi, MLK) still matter. We unpack ecofeminism, Greek tragedy, and the irreplaceable power of live performance—where audiences and actors literally “breathe together.” If you care about art, mortality, and meaning, this conversation is a clear, unsentimental guide to showing up with courage. About the guest : Karen Malpede is an award-winning playwright, director, essayist, and co-founder of Theater Three Collaborative. Her body of work spans ecofeminist and socially engaged theater created with the late OBIE-winning actor George Bartenieff. Her memoir, Last Radiance: Radical Lives, Bright Deaths, weaves art, caregiving, and conscious dying. Key takeaways: Theater's unique power: Live performance remains a ritual space where audience and actors “breathe together,” creating empathy and change that screens can't replicate. Art as witness and change: Effective art reflects its time and challenges us toward nonviolent action and possibility. Memoir vs. stagecraft: Writing plays channels many voices; memoir demanded Karen's direct voice while honoring others, including George's. Love and mourning are linked: We mourn because we love; honest art helps us name grief through language (and music). Conscious dying in community: Exemplary deaths—present, creative, surrounded by loved ones—can teach us how to live and how to be with the dying. Roots of activism: Early exposure to injustice and the influence of Irish and Greek theater shaped Karen's belief in art that builds identity, dignity, and courage. Relevance in a digital age: There's room for film and podcasts, but theater's shared breath and presence give it a singular, enduring role. Practical courage: Bearing witness is prerequisite to change; intimacy on the page and stage opens readers and audiences to their own stories. Miscommunication isn't fate—it's fixable. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, marriage counselor Raffi Bilek, author of The Couples Communication Handbook, breaks down why most fights spiral (fight-or-flight, solving too soon) and how to replace them with a clear, repeatable process. We cover the two-conversation framework (explore first, solve second), listening that lands (reflect, don't rebut), using humor without harm, and building a reliable repair system so conflict doesn't erode the relationship. Direct, practical, and immediately usable for couples, therapists, and anyone who wants fewer blowups and more connection. About the guest : Raffi Bilek is a marriage counselor and author of The Couples Communication Handbook: The Skills You Never Learned for the Marriage You Always Wanted. He helps couples move from reactivity to repair with simple, teachable skills grounded in real-life practice. Key takeaways : Don't fix in the fire: pause when activated; come back when you're regulated. Run two conversations: first explore the problem (what's under it—respect, autonomy, feeling unseen); then solve it. Listening ≠ agreement: reflect back what you heard; postpone rebuttal and solutions. Make safety explicit: agree on no judgment / no interruptions / no instant fixes while exploring. Humor connects only when it's not at your partner's expense; don't use jokes to deflect hard truths. Expect work: great relationships aren't conflict-free; they have a reliable repair system. Name emotions directly; increase self-awareness (introspection, therapy, journaling) so your partner can understand you. If one partner won't invest, depth stalls—decide to accept the status quo, re-contract the relationship, or seek change together. Household fights are usually symbols; get curious about the meaning, not just the dishes. Small weekly practice: one explore-only talk (15–20 min); solutions scheduled later. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Reginald Martin, creator of Kametaphysics, to unpack how “inherited code”—religion, culture, family scripts—quietly shapes our choices long after we think we've moved on. Reginald introduces Paradoxical Heka, a practical, Kemetic-inspired method using breath, voice, and ritual phrasing to hold two truths at once (e.g., “Even though fear is here, I am sustained”) until a calmer third state emerges. We cover identity after deconstruction, spotting “word-salad spirituality,” and how to test spiritual tools for real-world usefulness. Clear, direct, and immediately applicable for high performers, parents, therapists, and coaches. About the guest : Reginald Martin is the spiritual architect behind Kametaphysics, a sovereignty-first framework reconnecting modern coaching/therapy to ancient symbolic roots. His protocol, Paradoxical Heka, helps transmute guilt, shame, fear, and self-doubt while affirming the authentic self. He publishes on Substack at reginaldmartin.substack.com. Key takeaways: Inherited code persists: you can exit a system yet still follow its rules; name the pattern before the story to regain leverage. Paradox > contradiction: hold “this and that” (fear and support) rather than fighting your “shadow.” 90-second practice: pair breath and a paradox phrase; repeat ~9 times to entrain a calmer nervous system state. Evidence of integration: look for a felt peace, goosebumps/energy shifts, and cleaner choices in tough moments. Ditch vague advice: “just surrender” isn't helpful without a concrete method—test ideas for practicality. Leaders & parents: swap “I'm broken/unworthy” for “I'm out of alignment,” then realign with simple, repeatable steps. Symbolism matters: the caduceus metaphor reflects reconciling inner polarities rather than waging inner war. Apply this week: run Hecca before a difficult call or boundary and note shifts in tone, tension, and outcomes. On this Healthy Waves episode, host Avik Chakraborty speaks with Dr. Dean Howell (joined by his partner, Rebecca) about how infections, food choices, toxins, and cranial structure may influence mental clarity, mood, and day-to-day energy. We unpack the idea of “root-cause” care—stabilizing blood sugar, reducing inflammation, supporting detox pathways, and improving fluid dynamics in the head and neck—while keeping the conversation grounded in practical lifestyle moves listeners can evaluate with their clinicians. The discussion is direct, sometimes controversial, and focused on thinking clearly, feeling calmer, and building a sustainable plan rather than quick fixes. About the Guest : Dr. Dean Howell is the developer of NeuroCranial Restructuring (NCR). Over three decades, he has worked with a wide range of clients—from chronic pain sufferers to elite performers—aiming to relieve pressure patterns, improve posture, and optimize blood and cerebrospinal fluid flow to support overall function. Key Takeaways: Many people report “brain fog” and mood swings; the conversation highlights nutrition, sleep, stress load, infections, and environmental exposures as overlapping drivers to assess with a qualified professional. Blood-sugar stability matters: reducing refined carbs and spacing carbohydrate intake may help avoid sharp insulin spikes and the inflammatory swings that can follow. Protein and fats (including dairy/eggs for vegetarians, or animal proteins for omnivores) were discussed as tools for satiety and steadier energy; listeners should individualize with their health providers. Detox capacity is finite; supporting liver/kidney health (hydration, fiber where appropriate, movement, and clinician-guided protocols) is presented as a prerequisite before any intensive “cleanse.” Structural inputs (jaw/cranial alignment, posture, breathing mechanics) can influence comfort, sleep quality, and perceived clarity; address with licensed, evidence-based practitioners. Behavior change is easier when you start small: track meals, identify trigger foods, and monitor how you feel 1–3 hours after eating. Mental health is multifactorial; counseling, medical care, movement, community, and nervous-system regulation can all be part of a responsible plan. Safety first: avoid self-prescribing medications or extreme protocols; partner with your clinician for testing, diagnosis, and treatment choices. What if your mind needed feng shui as much as your home? In this direct conversation on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, Patrick Francey—entrepreneur, coach, and host of The Everyday Millionaire—breaks down Mind Shui, a practical framework for clearing mental clutter, collapsing hidden beliefs (“not enough,” “not worthy”), and aligning values so execution becomes inevitable. We dig into why clarity = velocity, how misaligned values stall income and impact, and why inner work isn't fluff—it's the operating system for results, relationships, and resilience. If you've got strategy but still feel stuck, this episode gives you a clean, repeatable way to create flow in your thinking, your business, and your life. Guest links are below. About the guest : Patrick Francey is a leading Canadian voice in investing and entrepreneurship, longtime CEO of the Real Estate Investment Network, and host of The Everyday Millionaire. He and his wife, Stephanie (an Olympic-class mental performance coach), co-created Mind Shui to help leaders dismantle mental clutter and act with clarity. Key takeaways : Mind Shui ≠ mindset clichés: It's a structured way to remove cognitive “furniture” blocking flow—old stories, assumptions, and automatic reactions that slow execution. Clarity drives speed: “Clarity = velocity.” When thinking is decluttered, prioritization and action accelerate without extra willpower or hacks. Collapse hidden beliefs: Two common blockers—“I'm not enough” and “I'm not worthy”—surface across all levels, from new founders to multimillionaires. Naming → examining → releasing. Values must align with goals: If money isn't a true value, you'll unconsciously avoid building it—even while claiming you want financial growth. Align money to family, health, and contribution. Live your values, not inherited ones: Many chase degrees/careers scripted by others. Integrity is keeping promises to yourself; misalignment breeds friction and fatigue. Inner work isn't a distraction: It improves confidence, communication, and relationships—outcomes that compound business results rather than compete with them. Normalize “what's next” after wins: Prepare for the “other side of the medal.” Goals are milestones; identity and purpose sustain momentum. Language reveals belief systems: Your words expose your BS (belief systems). Curiosity plus coaching helps you spot and clear them faster. A direct conversation on what happens after war ends and the mind keeps fighting. U.S. Army veteran Donald Dunn (68 months deployed across Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan) breaks down survivor's guilt, depression, isolation, and why documenting your story can be a turning point. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life with host Avik, we discuss his books Echoes of War and When Demons Followed Me Home, the mission behind Veteran Voice Radio and Spirits & Stories, and practical ways families can understand invisible wounds. Straight talk for veterans, families, therapists, and anyone navigating trauma. About the Guest : Donald Dunn is a decorated U.S. Army veteran, author of Echoes of War, creator behind Veteran Voice Radio and Spirits & Stories, and founder of Barracks Media. His upcoming book When Demons Followed Me Home uses metaphor to make hidden injuries visible. Key Takeaways: Coming home was harder than combat; the “real war” began after the uniform. Survivor's guilt (loss of friends on June 28, 2005) shifted deployments from “job” to life-or-death reality. Unspoken trauma erodes family bonds; silence created distance with spouse and children. Isolation disguised as work (long-haul trucking) intensified depression. A breaking point at home signaled it was time to seek professional help. Writing first for family (not publication) enabled honesty without interruption or judgment. Putting feelings into words creates third-person perspective and emotional regulation. Repeatedly telling the story reduces reactivity; you still feel, but you gain control. Healing requires responsibility and amends for harm done during depressive or addictive periods. The “demons” in his new book are metaphors—making homelessness, addiction, and rage legible to non-traumatized readers. . I recently visited Westport, Connecticut, to deliver a talk hosted by Sustainable Westport, a nonprofit whose mission is to encourage and support “small changes and big commitments toward a healthier, more sustainable future.” Because their mission is so well aligned with the values I promote on “The joe gardener Show,” I asked Sustainable Westport Co-Directors Johanna Martel and Gately Ross to join me for a conversation to talk about the ripple effects of local action, how to foster change at the community level, and why your voice and your example matters more than ever. If you've been thinking, “I'm not that bad… but I'm also not okay,” this one's for you. Today I'm talking with my dear friend Suzanne Warye—creator of The Sober Mom Life and author of The Sober Shift: A Modern-Day Guide to Living an Abundant Sober Life—about why sobriety can be less about “rock bottom” and more about reclamation. I asked Suzanne Warye, author of The Sober Shift, to share how to stop obsessing about “forever,” live in the present, and use simple shifts—like counting sober firsts—to build momentum without shame or perfection. She breaks down the mindset tools that actually helped her, why she says “sober for good” (for the good of your mind, relationships, presence), and how to keep going when your brain is screaming for the easy button.
