Overloaded with film & photographic evidence, Garrison hired Steve as a forensic investigator in charge of this material. Steve feels the biggest discovery from this photographic & video evidence is the Zapruder film! Garrison sent Steve to the National Archives to view the unedited version of the Zapruder film. It was shockingly clear. Steve was also communicating with a liason with French Intelligence SDECE & was sent to Paris in June of 1968. French Intelligence gave Steve a copy of their near perfect copy of the Zapruder film. Film was disguised for trip to USA. Steve made copies to anyone who wanted one, he sent many films to JFK assassination researchers. JFK couldn't have been shot from the front & the back, by anyone shooting from the 6th floor of the TSBD building. Len believes this week there will be a release of the assassination of Robert Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel. All photos related to the assassinations should be released for public scrutiny. Intrigued, Len discovers John's library of interviews, including a BBC film on Martin Luther King. John started out as a journalist, worked as a print journalist in the early 80's, then got involved in TV. Worked on a TV series with a new television station in the UK, channel 4, promoting independence. John's big break as a filmmaker happened when in 1989 he interviewed James Earl Ray. James was in prison in East Tennessee at Brushy Mountain Prison near Knoxville. John wrote to James, asking permission from Ray to visit the prison & interview him. The prison & James agreed with the prison requesting that John not bring any recording devices. John was able to spend 4 hours interviewing James Earl Ray, without any security whatsoever. The more John talked to James he realized James was a patsy. John managed to persuade the BBC into helping fund the documentary with James Earl Ray. John & his colleague friend, researcher John Sergeant from the UK, toured the US for six months. John ended up meeting Fletcher Prouty and others during their intense tour recording interviews. After Kennedy was elected, he tried to buy independence for the Congo. Dag Hammarskjold sent in UN troops to help protect Lumumba but to no avail. After Lumumba was assassinated, Hammarskjold was assassinated & then JFK. When Belgium pulled out of Congo, their intention was a swift withdrawal to incite extreme chaos. Unknown to Lumumba, the Belgium government had transferred Congo gold reserve to Brussels. Oliver Stone originally wanted Brando for the part of Mr. X in his JFK movie, not Donald Sutherland. Both Garrison & Zach Sklar told Oliver Stone to get in contact with Fletcher Prouty. Donald Sutherland the original producer of Executive Action, securing funding for the film. Leroy Fletcher Prouty (January 24, 1917 – June 5, 2001) served as Chief of Special Operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff under President John F. Kennedy. A colonel in the United States Air Force, he retired from military service to become a bank executive. He subsequently became a critic of U.S. foreign policy, particularly the covert activities of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which he believed was working on behalf of a secret world elite. Prouty's commentary on the Kennedy assassination circulated widely from the 1970s-90s, as a key source for conspiracy theories about it. Episode 154 is the fourth in a new series of episodes that chronicle the story of the Garrison investigation in New Orleans and the related trial of Clay Shaw. Garrison's fame was resurrected by the Oliver Stone film JFK, so 1992 was the year that the trial of Clay Shaw was first revisited nationally. This episode contains key panel discussions and a debate by the world class investigative reporter Dan Moldea and opposing views by Colonel Fletcher Prouty. Hear the emotionally charged exchanges that were a microcosm for the national debate going on in the country (about the assassination) at that moment in time. Garrison's investigation and trial became the inspiration and partial basis for Oliver Stone's movie JFK. Dan Moldea provides provocative comments about Garrison's tie in with the New Orleans syndicate and Carlos Marcello and declares that Garrison had deceptive motivations as a result. If Moldea's allegations are true, undoubtedly these facts would have impacted the trajectory of the grand jury investigation and the subsequent trial. Abrams from my own home town I began flight training in Maxwell Field in Alabama about May of 1942 In February of 1943 I was in Africa with the Air Transport Command We flew General Smith into Saudi Arabia to meet representatives of Standard Oil That's the first clandestine exercise I was ever involved in We established an operating base during the Cairo Conference In Teheran, Churchill had no ID, the Russians weren't going to let him through Success at Teheran enabled Chiang Kai-shek to put more pressure on the Japanese American generals supported Ho Chi Minh against the Japanese A few miles below the Turkish Syrian border, 750 American former prisoners of war I realized that some of my passengers were Nazi intelligence officers This group did contain men who had been selected by Frank Wisner of the OSS I never saw devastation equal to what I saw in the Soviet Union January of '45 I began flying the Pacific, four-engine transport work The atom bomb had been used, this was mid-August, the Japanese had quit We flew up to Tokyo on September 1st, 1945 At Atsugi air base, here were our enemies, they came over and helped us Equipment for 500,000 men going to Hanoi in Indochina Hiroshima, I flew very low over the area and had a good look at it The decision had been made to establish an Air Force ROTC I taught a very interesting course called "The Evolution of Warfare" I visited Werner Von Braun to write about rockets and missiles The Korean War broke out in June of 1950 I was one of five officers selected to initiate a new Air Defense Command A difficult period, because of the enormous devastation power of the atom bomb Spring of '52, I was the Military Manager of Tokyo International Airport Out of Tokyo we ran a regularly scheduled Embassy Run Civil Air Transport, were delivering supplies to the French, fighting Ho Chi Minh I met Colonel Lansdale and his organization in Vietnam I was selected to attend the Armed Forces Staff College, in Norfolk, Virginia One of the courses was a hypothetical NATO confrontation through Europe It just shocked the whole group, the impact of what nuclear weapons could do The hydrogen bomb would wipe out any city, you cannot fight war with that I went to the Pentagon from that schoo, to the Air Force Plans Office, in July of 1955 General Thomas White told me NSC had published Directive Directive 5412, in 1954 The Department of Defense would provide support for clandestine operations "Military Support of the Clandestine Operations of the United States Government" I was the "Chief of Team B," in charge of clandestine operations, for the Air Force The Economy Act of 1932 became the heart of the covert program We created literally hundreds of false military organizations The 1234 Logistics Squadron really belongs to CIA This clandestine system we established, we called "Tab-6" Mr. Dulles sent me around the world to many of his stations In Athens there was a camp for people we call, "mechanics" (hit men, gunmen) Thousands of ex-Nazis were being brought to the US for their various skills We could paratroop people in following a massive nuclear attack "Special Forces" were created for that post-strike purpose Hitler's chief of intelligence, Reinhardt Gehlen, became a U.S. Army general European command began looking on CIA as a "Fourth Force" in nuclear warfare From 1945 until 1965, CIA was the operating command for military forces in Vietnam CIA had quite an air force, operated and maintained under "Air America" New Year's Eve of 1958-59, I waited for CIA orders to go into Cuba Senator Kennedy understood events going on in Vietnam ...

Abrams from my own home town I began flight training in Maxwell Field in Alabama about May of 1942 In February of 1943 I was in Africa with the Air Transport Command We flew General Smith into Saudi Arabia to meet representatives of Standard Oil That's the first clandestine exercise I was ever involved in We established an operating base during the Cairo Conference In Teheran, Churchill had no ID, the Russians weren't going to let him through Success at Teheran enabled Chiang Kai-shek to put more pressure on the Japanese American generals supported Ho Chi Minh against the Japanese A few miles below the Turkish Syrian border, 750 American former prisoners of war I realized that some of my passengers were Nazi intelligence officers This group did contain men who had been selected by Frank Wisner of the OSS I never saw devastation equal to what I saw in the Soviet Union January of '45 I began flying the Pacific, four-engine transport work The atom bomb had been used, this was mid-August, the Japanese had quit We flew up to Tokyo on September 1st, 1945 At Atsugi air base, here were our enemies, they came over and helped us Equipment for 500,000 men going to Hanoi in Indochina Hiroshima, I flew very low over the area and had a good look at it The decision had been made to establish an Air Force ROTC I taught a very interesting course called "The Evolution of Warfare" I visited Werner Von Braun to write about rockets and missiles The Korean War broke out in June of 1950 I was one of five officers selected to initiate a new Air Defense Command A difficult period, because of the enormous devastation power of the atom bomb Spring of '52, I was the Military Manager of Tokyo International Airport Out of Tokyo we ran a regularly scheduled Embassy Run Civil Air Transport, were delivering supplies to the French, fighting Ho Chi Minh I met Colonel Lansdale and his organization in Vietnam I was selected to attend the Armed Forces Staff College, in Norfolk, Virginia One of the courses was a hypothetical NATO confrontation through Europe It just shocked the whole group, the impact of what nuclear weapons could do The hydrogen bomb would wipe out any city, you cannot fight war with that I went to the Pentagon from that schoo, to the Air Force Plans Office, in July of 1955 General Thomas White told me NSC had published Directive Directive 5412, in 1954 The Department of Defense would provide support for clandestine operations "Military Support of the Clandestine Operations of the United States Government" I was the "Chief of Team B," in charge of clandestine operations, for the Air Force The Economy Act of 1932 became the heart of the covert program We created literally hundreds of false military organizations The 1234 Logistics Squadron really belongs to CIA This clandestine system we established, we called "Tab-6" Mr. Dulles sent me around the world to many of his stations In Athens there was a camp for people we call, "mechanics" (hit men, gunmen) Thousands of ex-Nazis were being brought to the US for their various skills We could paratroop people in following a massive nuclear attack "Special Forces" were created for that post-strike purpose Hitler's chief of intelligence, Reinhardt Gehlen, became a U.S. Army general European command began looking on CIA as a "Fourth Force" in nuclear warfare From 1945 until 1965, CIA was the operating command for military forces in Vietnam CIA had quite an air force, operated and maintained under "Air America" New Year's Eve of 1958-59, I waited for CIA orders to go into Cuba Senator Kennedy understood events going on in Vietnam ...

The topic of discussion is The Man Who Knew Too Much, Richard Case Nagell. Nagell was a Korean War hero, intel officer, and double agent assigned with the task of eliminating Lee Harvey Oswald before November 22nd, 1963 rolled around. The orders to do this were given to him by the Russians. Nagell sent registered letters to J. Edgar Hoover and Desmond Fitzgerald warning them of the plot against JFK. Instead of following through with the assignment, Nagell had himself placed in custody, having predicted that something was about to happen in Dallas to his arresting officer. In the second half of the show, JFK witnesses Buell Wesley Frazier (author of Steering Truth), and author Don Jeffries (On Borrowed Fame) discuss Lee Harvey Oswald and Frazier's encounters with him. It was Frazier who drove Oswald to work on 11/22/63 and worked with him at the Book Depository. This should correct the record (Excerpt From Interview Bob mentioned Used with Bob's permission)As detailed in his autobiography 'Heartland' (Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Publishers, 1976), Sahl went to New Orleans and worked with Jim Garrison to bring the only trial in the murder of President Kennedy into an American Courtroom. 'We lost”, lamented Sahl. I had to interject that the American people lost, as we did not follow up their trial with a demand for answers. Much of the information we know today regarding JFK's murder stems from the work and sacrifice that Garrison, Sahl, and their team found at great personal risk. As witnesses died mysteriously and were outright murdered, the case became increasingly difficult, rather, impossible to win. Clay LaVerne Shaw was charged with conspiring to assassinate President John F. Kennedy by Garrison. Clay was a businessman in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was the only person prosecuted in connection with the assassination and was acquitted. Suspect and witness David Ferrie died leaving two typed unsigned suicide notes. He was found dead on February 22, 1967, less than a week after news of Garrison's investigation broke in the media. Within 24 hours, another witness, Cuban exile Eladio del Valle was found murdered, shot in the heart, and his head split open with a machete. Some would have you believe that these witness deaths were run of the mill. Possibly this would be so in a Lewis Carroll work, or in an episode of the Twilight Zone. (Hit List by Richard Belzer & David Wayne is a fine study of the mysterious deaths of witnesses involved in the overall case of JFK's murder for readers to follow up).Today Sahl feels that America is in trouble and that his priority is to inform us. “News is like a parody now, and there is no investigative reporting. They do not even mention this kid Snowden. And we are run by CFR guys like Zbigniew Brzezinski and Harold Brown.” Since the day Kennedy's killers escaped justice, we are being run by an illegitimate government.” Sahl points out that unless that case is re-opened and solved, we cannot begin to heal as a nation.Even the 'fair and balanced' Bill O'Reilly once reported truly regarding the infiltration of Jim Garrison's office when building a case against Clay Shaw. O'Reilly reported for Inside Edition in the 1970s that Garrison's office was infiltrated by at least nine agents to feed him false information, and to report on his case to Langley. O'Reilly also stated that there was a crucial link between Lee Harvey Oswald and the CIA. This is the same Oswald was cleared from having fired a rifle the day of Kennedy's murder. Now today, O'Reilly says that Oswald did it, with no basis on fact or evidence. It is this very media that draws the wrath of Mort Sahl, a media that obfuscates and confuses rather than digs deeply and shines a light on the truth.Following suit, Sahl adds that today's films are sub-par. “We do not have the quality of actors that we had in the day. We had Gregory Peck, Steve McQueen, and William Holden.” As for comedians today, Sahl states that “comedians are vulgar because they are not clever.” As for the current president, Mort wonders who he is with the murky background of his parents that seems to leave a trail back to the agency.“The killers of Kennedy are not interested in co-existing. I knew Bobby Kennedy well, and he was afraid that we were going to open the case on JFK prematurely. Bobby was surrounded by many agency people, such as Walter Sheridan. We could have saved Bobby's life. Garrison warned that the killers would not allow RFK to be elected. We certainly tried to warn him.”If you want to go back and understand the case, L. Fletcher Prouty's book, and Jim Garrison's are the two you should read first. “When we first spoke to Prouty, it was me who was sent to go to him. Prouty was a fascinating guy, to say the least.” People interested in learning about what happened should start there. And James Douglass' book was incredible”, added Sahl.As for his career taking a shot as he served as a deputy for Garrison, Mort views this simply as duty. Jim Garrison warned that “based on my own experience, that fascism will come to America in the name of national security.” Their careers suffered somewhat at times for their efforts, but they put up a noble fight. The people were left with many vital, unanswered questions from the House Select Committee on Assassinations, some demanded answers but their voices have not been heard in any meaningful way. The flow became Watergate, Iran-Contra, the Reagan shooting, the Patriot Act and its invasion into privacy and individual rights, and looting of our funds through the derivatives crisis worldwide. The total monies lost are estimated at 4 quadrillion dollars. It makes one wonder if we can recover from such a debt, merely by printing excess paper money based on nothing to pay the bills. At what point will that system crash far louder? The too big to fail banks are steadied by a Federal Reserve System that is a mixture of private and public ownership and pays billions to the US Government each year from its profits. The structure seems to have numerous conflict of interest problems but it's supposed to keep us from having another 'Great Depression. It relies on the cash printed by the US Treasury Department. This is a conundrum of such proportions that it's impossible to find anyone that knows for sure what's going on. When you get down to details you find none of the so-called experts agree and the financial collapses were surprises to all of them. One thing we know that it does allow is for the richest of us to keep getting richer on the backs of all the rest of us.Mort Sahl, Jim Garrison, and their team worked to bring justice to convict the murderers of John Kennedy in an open court Their efforts were followed by the debacle of the continuation of the Vietnam War. And as time has slid by, we are left with more wars wrapped in lies, less privacy, a bankrupt economy, and a neutered media. The Garrison Team's work gave the people the chance to pick up the gauntlet. Collectively, we reached out our arms and yawned in resignation.
