What if the key to changing the world starts with changing dads? In this reflective season‑one finale of Legacy Makers, Kevin and Eric revisit their purpose: building stronger fathers through honest conversation, community, and intentionality. From the struggles dads rarely admit to the wisdom shared by leaders like Mike Lynch, Brandon Wood, David Farmer, and David Salyers, this episode captures the heart of why the podcast exists — and where season two is headed. Filled with encouragement, real talk, and practical vision, this is an invitation for every dad to step into legacy‑building with others beside them. 1. ICE Incident & Media Narrative A story circulated claiming ICE detained a 5‑year‑old child; the document states this was false. ICE was arresting the father, who allegedly fled and abandoned the child. The mother reportedly refused to take the child back. The argument: media outlets amplified a misleading narrative to evoke emotional reaction and sway suburban voters. 2. Narrative of Political Motivation Democrats and major media are using immigration stories to fuel a political campaign against ICE. John Kasich and others are highlighted as contributing to public perception around ICE enforcement. 3. Government Shutdown Predictions A 100% chance of a government shutdown tied to DHS and ICE funding. Chuck Schumer and other Democratic leaders are quoted as refusing to fund DHS without major ICE restrictions. A distinction is made: many agencies are already funded, so the shutdown would be more limited than the previous historical shutdown. 4. “Abolish ICE” Positioning Democrats are unified in refusing to fund ICE or DHS, framing it as similar to “abolish ICE / abolish police” rhetoric. Democrats want a prolonged and painful shutdown to signal to their base that they are fighting against ICE. 5. Trump Accounts (Economic Policy Section) Benefits include: Could lead to significant wealth accumulation due to compound growth (e.g., $300k by 18; $1M+ by 28 with max contributions). Intended to help children in poverty or lower‑income households build long‑term wealth. Employer and charitable contributions (e.g., Michael & Susan Dell, Brad Gerstner) will accelerate scale and impact. Compared in transformative potential to the creation of 401(k) plans. 6. Minneapolis Shooting & Media Coverage Media portrayed the man shot by ICE as a peaceful ICU nurse, omitting earlier confrontational behavior. Video evidence reported by BBC showed the man spitting at, confronting, and kicking an ICE vehicle days before the shooting. Media intentionally shaped the story to portray ICE as murderers. 7. MSNBC AI Image Controversy MSNBC used an AI‑enhanced image to make the man appear more attractive, which the document calls political propaganda. Commentary from Joe Rogan criticizing the altered image. MSNBC admitted to using an AI‑generated thumbnail but did not apologize or fire anyone. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Fight the Power! In this episode, we learn from pastor and theologian Helmut Thielecke about the gods we worship, the God that encounters us, and what technology actually does to us. What do Satan's temptations teach us about Jesus, God's Word, piety, and making sense of mystery? Is Christianity supposed to be a sensible religion? What kind of "opium" does the evil one offer us to lead us away from the Truth? What is distinctive about the worshippers of the God of power? What happens when technology becomes a means of power rather than merely a tool? What does God's fight for the world look like, and how does it conclude? Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary
A judge just confirmed what victims' families feared most: under Idaho's current law, Bryan Kohberger could legally profit from telling his story. The same applies to Lori Vallow Daybell and Chad Daybell. The statute that's supposed to prevent this hasn't been updated since 1978 — and it shows. This week, Idaho Senator Tammy Nichols introduced legislation to modernize the state's Son of Sam law after the Moscow student murders and the Daybell cult killings put Idaho in the national spotlight. The bill unanimously advanced out of committee. But why did it take this long? And will it actually work? The original Son of Sam laws were born in 1977 when serial killer David Berkowitz was offered a massive book deal within 24 hours of his arrest. New York passed legislation the very next day, and 42 states followed — including Idaho. But the Supreme Court gutted these laws in 1991, finding them too broad to survive First Amendment scrutiny. Most states never fixed the constitutional problems. Idaho was one of them.Today, the true crime industry generates hundreds of millions of dollars annually. Podcasts, streaming documentaries, and social media monetization didn't exist when Idaho's law was written. The five-year escrow period means convicted killers can potentially receive media profits if victims' families don't file civil lawsuits in time. Meanwhile, Kohberger received over $28,000 in jail donations while families argued in court over who should pay for their daughters' urns.We break down the full history, the Supreme Court decision that changed everything, and exactly what the new Idaho bill does — and doesn't — accomplish. For the families of Kaylee, Maddie, Xana, Ethan, Tylee, JJ, and Tammy, this fight is far from over.#SonOfSamLaw #BryanKohberger #IdahoMurders #LoriVallowDaybell #ChadDaybell #TrueCrimePodcast #VictimRights #MoscowIdaho #KayleeGoncalves #CriminalJusticeJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
The battle is over. Absalom is gone. The rebellion has collapsed. But the story is far from finished because now comes the part that is often harder than the conflict itself: The healing, what some today call the peace-building phase following war. David returns to Jerusalem, the tribes return to unity, and a nation begins returning to stability. But none of it happens cleanly or quickly, and none of it happens without tension. In this episode, we'll work through three key movements: 1. A King Who Must Rise from His Grief.2. Then A Nation That Must Choose Unity Again. 3. A Return Marked by Mercy, Justice, and Surprising Encounter. This chapter is not as dramatic as Chapter 18. It is not fast‑moving like chapter 17; it is quieter, more relational, more human. It shows us that healing a kingdom — or a family, or a friendship, or a community — requires humility, patience, courage, and grace. So today, we explore a chapter where the king returns, the people come together, and the long work of restoration begins..... FBI Search of Fulton County, Georgia Election Office The FBI executed a court-authorized search warrant at the Fulton County Election Hub related to the 2020 presidential election. The action is evidence that past claims of election fraud—particularly those advanced by Donald Trump—are finally being taken seriously. Judicial approval of the warrant is proof of legitimacy. Seizure of ballots, computers, phones, and election records. Allegations that early votes were improperly certified without required signatures. The dismissal of the prior state-level prosecution against Trump in Georgia as vindication. Assertion of Broader Election Manipulation Concerns Foreign interference, specifically claiming that Mexican consulates worked to influence U.S. elections via immigration and cultural influence. These claims are tied to a book (The Invisible Coup) and used to argue that U.S. elections are structurally compromised. Trump’s Georgia Election Claims Trump’s assertion that he “won Georgia” is reinforced. The FBI investigation is a potential confirmation that the 2020 Georgia results were altered or fraudulent. Media skepticism of these claims is dishonest or politically motivated. Second Story: Death of Alex Pretty in Minnesota The media portrays Alex Pretti as an innocent victim of ICE violence. Newly surfaced video shows Pretti: Assaulting federal agents, Damaging government vehicles, Carrying a firearm during protests. Law Enforcement Justification Narrative Federal agents involved in the shooting were placed on administrative leave (presented as standard procedure). Pretti posed an ongoing threat and that agents acted in self-defense. Family and attorney statements with video evidence to accuse the media of intentional misinformation. Broader Media Critique Mainstream media is misleading the public, The political left is covering up violent behavior, Institutions are suppressing truth about election integrity and immigration enforcement. Ryan Ferguson was a 17-year-old high school student when Kent Heitholt, a sportswriter for the Columbia Daily Tribune, was found beaten and strangled in Missouri. Heitholt's murder went unsolved for two years until police received a tip that a man named Charles Erickson could not remember the evening of the murder and had told a friend that he thought he may have been involved. Erickson, who had spent that fateful evening partying with Ryan Ferguson, was interrogated by police and despite initially seeming to have no memory of the night of the murder, eventually confessed and implicated Ryan as well. Police offered Erickson a plea deal in exchange for testimony against Ryan at his trial in 2005. Despite the lack of any physical evidence tying Ryan Ferguson to the crime, he was convicted of second-degree murder and robbery and sentenced to 40 years in prison. Paul and Silas preach the gospel in Thessalonica, and some are converted, but the Jewish leaders round up a mob to drive them out. The Bereans like what Paul has to say, but want to double-check the scriptures. And they finally end up in Athens to bring the gospel to the city of philosophers. Have a listen. Avoid URLs with random numbers or characters, as they can hurt your visibility.Q: Should I use hashtags on LinkedIn?A: The speakers suggest that hashtags are not essential on LinkedIn. However, if you do use hashtags, use them sparingly and strategically.Q: How can I make my LinkedIn posts more engaging?A: You can use polls, GIFs, and visually appealing content to make your posts more engaging. Polls are a great way to interact with your audience and gather feedback, while GIFs can add a touch of personality to your posts.Q: What is the Shield App?A: Shield App is an AI-powered analytics tool for LinkedIn. It helps you track your content performance, understand your audience, and gain insights to improve your LinkedIn strategy. The speakers recommend it as a valuable tool for serious LinkedIn users.Q: Why is building an email list so important?A: You don't own your social media followers. If you get locked out of your account or the platform changes its algorithm, you could lose your audience. An email list gives you a direct line of communication with your followers that you control.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Hello! And welcome to Episode 388. Once you’ve decided that you really are going to renovate or build, something shifts. The dreaming phase starts to give way to planning, and the stakes begin to feel real. It’s often at this moment that research ramps up. Podcasts, articles, social media, saved folders, screenshots, notes. It can feel like the most responsible thing to do. To educate yourself thoroughly so you do not miss anything or make a costly mistake. This episode is not about doing less research. It is about understanding when research is actually helping you move forward, and when it quietly becomes a way to delay decisions, avoid commitment, or feel productive without making progress. [For all resources mentioned in this podcast and a free, downloadable PDF transcript, head to www.undercoverarchitect.com/388] If you have ever thought, “I just need to learn a bit more before I commit,” or felt like you should absorb everything before taking the next step, you are not alone. I hear this all the time from homeowners who genuinely want to get it right. I’ve felt it myself too. As an avid learner myself, it can feel incredibly productive to be consuming useful information, but if it’s preventing you from progressing, you’re using research as a hiding place, and not the empowering tool it can be. Before we begin, I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which I live and work, the Widjabul Wia-bal people of the Bundjalung Nation. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and I honour their ongoing connection to land, culture and community. It’s Amelia Lee here, founder and architect behind Undercover Architect, an online education platform that teaches homeowners how to get it right when designing, building or renovating their home, simply and with confidence, wherever you’re located and whoever you’re working with. Undercover Architect is your secret ally. Not here to overwhelm you with information, or suggest that consuming more content automatically leads to better decisions. This is about helping you understand what to focus on, what can wait, and how to use information in a way that genuinely supports your project. This episode is part of the Start Here Mini-Sodes Series, designed to help you pause at key moments, challenge unhelpful assumptions, and move forward with clarity rather than confusion. Now you’ve seen how a project really unfolds through four phases in Episode 385, you’ve learned what to do before you begin designing anything in Episode 386, and you now know what to do before talking with builders, architects and designers in Episode 387… In this episode, we are talking about research. How to recognise when it is building capability, and when it is pulling you into a rabbit-hole that feels responsible but leaves you stuck. So let’s dive into Part 4 of the Start Here series, Before You Dive Down a Research Rabbit-Hole. RESOURCES MENTIONED IN THIS PODCAST: For links, images and resources mentioned in this podcast, plus a full transcript, head to >>> www.undercoverarchitect.com/388 The Get Started Guide Mini-Course If you’re at the very beginning and want help orienting yourself without feeling overwhelmed, my mini-course, The Get Started Guide will help you understand the first meaningful steps for any project, and where to focus your energy before you get lost. PROJECT 101 Self-Study Online Course If you want a broader foundation across cost, time, team, design and you, PROJECT 101 helps you understand how these five factors interact, so you can make informed decisions before committing too far. “Climate change is the biggest health threat of our century, so we need to train clinicians for a future where it will alter disease patterns, the demand on health systems, and how care is delivered,” says Dr. Sandro Demaio, director of the WHO Asia-Pacific Centre for Environment and Health, underscoring the stakes behind the organization's first regionally-focused climate and health strategy. The five-year plan Dr. Demaio is leading aims to help governments in 38 countries with 2.2 billion people manage rising heat, extreme weather, sea-level change, air pollution and food insecurity by adapting health systems, protecting vulnerable populations, and reducing emissions from the healthcare sector itself. In this timely interview with Raise the Line host Michael Carrese, Dr. Demaio draws on his experiences in emergency medicine, global public health, pandemic response and climate policy to argue for an interconnected approach to strengthening systems and preparing a healthcare workforce to meet the heath impacts of growing environmental challenges. This is a great opportunity to learn how climate change is reshaping medicine, public health and the future of care delivery. 1. Life in Cuba Before and After the Revolution At first, many Cubans—including Sonia’s family—believed Fidel Castro would bring hope and equality. Very quickly, Castro imposed strict control, destroyed economic freedom, and made the entire population equally poor. 2. The Reality of Communist Cuba Universal poverty: Everyone was paid the same and had almost nothing—food shortages, basic needs unmet. State surveillance: Every neighborhood had assigned informants who monitored households and reported any anti‑government sentiment. Restrictions on daily life: Cubans were barred from renting boats, traveling, or accessing certain services, even if they had citizenship elsewhere. 3. Persecution and Indoctrination Sonia witnessed the regime executing and imprisoning dissenters. Castro used propaganda to turn children against their families, encouraging them to report relatives critical of the government. Schools were forced to teach pro‑communist, pro‑Castro ideology. 4. Family Resistance Sonia’s mother (a teacher) was ordered to teach communist doctrine. Rather than comply, she pretended to have a mental breakdown so she could be removed from teaching, since quitting was illegal. Sonia herself resisted the regime and was repeatedly detained, imprisoned for days, and disappeared without her family knowing her whereabouts. 5. Life After Leaving Cuba Sonia left in 1962 but returned over the years with suitcases of medicine, food, clothing, and household essentials—items extremely scarce in Cuba. She often left behind even her own clothes because relatives in Cuba lacked basics like underwear and bedsheets. 6. The Illusion Presented to Foreign Visitors Tourists and foreign politicians were only shown “model” schools, hospitals, and neighborhoods. This created a false image of prosperity, hiding the suffering of everyday Cubans who lived in extreme poverty. 7. Misconceptions About Socialism and Communism The conversation highlights how younger Americans often romanticize socialism without understanding its authoritarian outcomes. It emphasizes that socialist regimes destroy incentive, suppress faith, and strip away basic freedoms. The leaders of these systems live in luxury while the people remain impoverished. 8. The Human Cost Sonia stresses that the worst suffering was the inability of families to secure food and basic necessities for their children. Many Cubans survive by drinking sugar water to feel full. Average income was described as around $30 per month, making survival nearly impossible. Please Hit Subscribe to this podcast Right Now. Today we're introducing you to Earwitness. Earwitness is one of Lava for Good’s most important investigative series and will be released right here in the Bone Valley feed. You’ll see it shown here as Bone Valley Season 4 but it is a completely different show told by a different host - noted Alabama-based journalist and podcaster Beth Shelburne. We hope you enjoy. One hot July night in 1995, Deputy Sheriff William G. Hardy was shot dead behind a Birmingham, AL hotel. At the same time, four miles away at least ten people saw Toforest Johnson at a packed nightclub called Tee’s Place. It didn’t matter. The cops zeroed in on Toforest as the culprit anyway. What followed was a familiar American ritual: arrest, trial, conviction, death sentence. No eyewitnesses. No physical evidence. Just unjustifiable confidence. For more than 25 years, Toforest has lived in a five-by-eight cell on Alabama’s death row. In 2019, journalist Beth Shelburne reopened the case and found something far worse than incompetence. The state once tried to pin the murder on another man. Its case hinged on an “earwitness,” a woman secretly paid by prosecutors to testify about an overheard phone call. The jury never knew. Neither did the defense. They found out 17 years later. Earwitness, an eight-part docuseries from the team behind Bone Valley, pulls back the curtain on a justice system that refuses to admit it got it wrong. With rare access to detectives, prosecutors, jurors, and witnesses, Shelburne asks the only question that matters: how did an innocent man end up on death row, and why is the state still trying to kill him? On February 4, we'll be releasing all eight episodes right here in the Bone Valley feed as Bone Valley Season 4 | Earwitness.
