In Part 2 of our two-part interview with physical therapist Erika Mayall, we explore how ballet schools are supporting dancer health—and where they still fall short. Erika offers practical advice for dancers and families without access to dance-specific care, busts common ballet injury myths, and shares her favorite recovery tools and daily habits for long-term wellness. She also discusses how to recognize genuine wellness support versus “checking the box” in schools and what one key change could improve injury prevention across ballet training. Erika also has a fantastic podcast called The Dance Physio Podcast that we think every dancer and their parents should tune in and listen to. In this episode, I'm sharing the 7 biggest false beliefs I hear about money, pricing, and insurance — the same ones that keep most rehab providers stuck and undercharging. From “my town is different” to “you need years of experience to charge more,” I break down the real reasons why these thoughts are holding you back — and what to do instead. Here's what you'll learn: Why charging less doesn't make you more “accessible” How affordability is often a mindset issue — not a pricing one Why selling in healthcare is not unethical (and may be your #1 skill) How to confidently raise your prices — no permission required The truth about scaling high-ticket services Follow us on Instagram @justinrabinowitz Want more free value? Mobility is a popular topic in fitness at the moment but what happens when a person has too much mobility? Hypermobility spectrum disorder and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome or EDS are connective tissue disorders where the person's joints are looser than they should be. This creates joint instability that can lead to pain, frequent sprains and strains or joint dislocations. The goal of movement training for these clients focuses on stability, increasing body awareness and developing postural endurance to train the muscles to support the joints. If you or your clients have hypermobility, this episode will provide guidelines for successfully managing the condition. Moving Conversations LIVE in Southern California! In this debate podcast featuring return guest James Swanwick (you can check out our first show together here), you'll get to hear an honest, science-backed exploration of alcohol’s true impact on your body, brain, and quality of life—plus what it really takes to build a vibrant, alcohol-free lifestyle. James Swanwick is an Australian-American entrepreneur who helps high performers and casual drinkers reduce or quit alcohol without feeling deprived. He is a former SportsCenter anchor on ESPN and the creator and founder of Project 90, a neuroscience-based process scientifically proven to reduce drinking by 98%. James specifically supports high achievers, including entrepreneurs, executives, physicians, attorneys, and professional athletes. He’s also an investor, speaker, and author of the book, CLEAR: The Only Neuroscience-Based Approach for High Achievers to Finally Break Free From Alcohol Without Willpower, Rehab or AA. I push back on some of James’ views, especially around moderation. We get into the nuances of drinking, discussing hormesis, genetics, culture, and whether small amounts of alcohol can play a role in a well-rounded, intentional lifestyle. It’s a respectful, spirited conversation that doesn’t aim to tell you what to do—but gives you the clarity and information to make the best decision for your own health and goals. Whether you’re sober-curious, optimizing your performance, or just reevaluating your habits, this episode offers practical tools, real-world insight, and a fresh perspective on one of the most normalized substances in our culture. Celebrity activists, while usually well intentioned, rarely have a systemic understanding of the causes they tout - and thus leave a lot of damage in their wake. Paris Hilton is no exception. Over the past couple of years, she has used her celebrity to shut down teen rehab facilities - and the consequences are dark. Christina Buttons, an investigative reporter for the Manhattan Institute and a former troubled teen herself, spent time in the same facilities as Hilton and is exposing the holes in her work. Today's word of the day is ‘simulated' as in simulated games as in Shohei Ohtani as in pitching as in Dodgers as in rehab assignments as in bullpen sessions. Let's cover everything about injuries and returns to play. We start with the Dodgers and their trio of big name arms: Ohtani, Snell, Glasnow. (17:30) Let's break down the rest of the Dodgers pitchers now, and some other big names in the league. Sean Manaea and Giancarlo Stanton had rehab assignments last night. (33:30) Review: Sinners. (38:00) The Phillies are not doing great right now. Injuries happen. But the bullpen isn't good. The team is struggling. (45:00) NPPOD. Learn more about your ad choices.
