Ned describes being recognized in jail by the leader of the Texas Aryan Brotherhood, who traded him protection and OxyContin for acting lessons using scenes from Lost and Prison Break. The episode then replays Ned's original Dopey appearance: doing heroin with Andy Warhol's circle, living at the Chelsea Hotel alongside Sid Vicious and Nancy Spungen, eating Burger King with Sid on the day Nancy died, and being in their room hours before her murder. Ned explains why he believes Sid was innocent and identifies the drug dealer he suspected may have been involved. Ned also recounts driving a cab while addicted to heroin, getting slashed during a robbery, buying drugs on the devastated Lower East Side, descending into meth addiction in Long Beach, and knowing dealers who smuggled exotic birds. After nearly 13 years clean, one glass of wine led to a cocaine overdose four days later and another seven-year run. His final arrest, time in jail, and a trip to treatment in Hawaii ultimately gave him another chance—although he arrived with Valium, Vicodin and OxyContin sewn into his clothes. Today, Ned has nearly 20 years clean, works at Transcend NYC, and performs all 19 characters in Lost in Dell Valley. Way More on the New Episode! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. DopeyCon Tickets: https://buytickets.at/thedopeyfoundation/2345507 Patreon: www.patreon.com/dopeypodcast Summary / show notes This week on Dopey Wednesday! We open the Wednesday show with DopeyCon updates, listener comments and a voicemail from Oskar in Sweden. After leaving rehab with no intention of staying clean, Oskar returns home to ten grams of heroin, begins injecting with a friend and saves that friend from a potentially fatal overdose using naloxone. Poet/writer/'clinician' addict Zach Frank returns to discuss anxious attachment, fear, resentment and the difficulty of responding thoughtfully when emotions take over. He remembers passing out on heroin while running a bath, flooding his mother's house and destroying his brother's Xbox before the damaged ceiling collapsed in front of his grandmother. Zach then takes Dave inside the jam-band drug scene. On his way to a Dominican Republic festival, he convinces a cab driver to find cocaine, stops at a pharmacy for a huge box of Xanax, absorbs liquid LSD through his palm, urinates in the ocean fully clothed and later smokes a “silly stick”—a joint containing marijuana and DMT—during a Disco Biscuits set. He also describes his final festival before recovery: obtaining cocaine and Xanax, taking ketamine and powerful MDMA pills, and eventually reaching complete spiritual exhaustion. He calls his mother crying, returns to New York and enters treatment. Dave and Zach discuss the painful gap between becoming abstinent and genuinely feeling well, the first moments of peace that make recovery worthwhile, and why addicts sometimes need to hold on through weeks or months of discomfort. They celebrate Dave's 11 years sober and compare the Knicks' championship comeback to the seemingly impossible transformations found in recovery. The episode closes with listener comments and Dave's heartfelt—and musically questionable—tribute to Dolly Parton. All that and MORE! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Gathering The Kings

Connect With ChazMark Podolsky spent years in investment banking with a 45-minute commute each way, buying things he did not care about to impress people who were not thinking about him. Then he started going to tax deed auctions on the side and buying raw undeveloped land for pennies on the dollar. He never looked back.Today Mark has done over 6,000 land deals, takes the entire month of July off every year to stress-test his team, travels globally at will, and runs what he calls a passive income machine built on three things: other people's time, software and automation, and other people's money. In this conversation with Chaz Wolfe, Mark walks through his entire land investing model step by step, explains why defaults are not actually a problem, why raw land is the most boring and least competitive niche in real estate, and why the only real mistake is stopping deal flow when you get scared.Key Takeaways:Raw land is an inefficient market. There is no MLS for dirt. Value is what a buyer and seller agree to. That inefficiency is the opportunity.Nobody wakes up thinking this is glamorous. That is the point. No HGTV show. No big money competition. No hedge funds. You and a million other investors could all be in this niche and run out of money before running out of deal flow. The model in one sequence: find a motivated seller with back taxes, offer 25 cents on the dollar of the lowest comparable sale, do due diligence for $11, buy it free and clear, sell it on terms to the neighbor or a buyer pool, collect a down payment and $297 a month for 72 months at 9 percent interest. No tenants. No rehabs. No renovations. No rodents.Defaults are not a disaster. They are a reset. The asset stays in your name under a land contract. You keep the down payment and all prior payments, lower your cost basis, and resell it. Sometimes defaults improve your ROI.The biggest mistake: fear-based decision making that stops deal flow. There is a 6-week lag between sending offers and getting responses. Stopping offers while you wait to sell inventory is how people stall the machine. In 20-plus years, Mark has never been stuck with a piece of land that would not sell at the right price.Entrepreneurs get bored with what works and go looking for the next county, the next niche, the next idea. The county that is making you money does not need to be replaced. It needs to be worked.Solo economic dependency is the trap. If you stop working, you stop making money. The land model solves that. $297 a month does not care whether you are at the office or in Bali.Freedom is not a number. It is a ratio. Mark's definition of enough: passive income at 200 percent of fixed expenses. Once you know your number, everything is just a game you choose to play. The happiest people have the best relationships. Money removes the biggest source of stress in a marriage and a family. It does not buy happiness. It buys the conditions for it.90 percent of the land business can be automated with inexpensive virtual assistants and software. The more automated the machine, the less valuable the owner needs to be to keep it running. If you are a contractor business owner doing $1M+ and you feel stuck in the day-to-day, we built GTK for you.Through peer mastermind and 1:1 coaching, we help you:increase profitinstall real systemsbuild a team that runs the businessget your time backVisit www.gatheringthekings.com for information on how to apply.Connect with Chaz Wolfe (Host):WebsiteFacebookInstagramLinkedInYouTubeProfit Starts with Better Books!Clean books. Dave and Joe dig into Brad Pitt's decision to drink moderately after years of sobriety, whether alcoholics can ever successfully return to controlled drinking, and why celebrities speaking publicly about recovery matters. They also discuss kratom and 7-OH addiction, medication-assisted treatment, cannabis in recovery, mental health care and the danger of treating relapse as a moral failure. Standard medical advice after a catastrophic muscle tear will turn a high-performance lifter into a spectator if you blindly follow it. Four months after snapping his bicep off the bone on an axle clean, National Champion Strongman Josh Hendrickson refused to sit passive in a sling and hit a max-effort box squat forty-eight hours before surgery. By defying conservative rehab models, forcing daily range of motion, and recalibrating his drive, he uncovered the psychological framework required to rebuild elite capacity without burning out. INSIDE THIS CONVERSATION Bicep Tear Protocols: Why traditional medical timelines can sabotage competitive strength athletes. The 14-Day Crossroad: How Josh approached restoring range of motion and accelerating his return to training. Natural Peak Performance: Out-lifting enhanced competitors through stubborn, decades-long consistency. The Promoter's Dilemma: The brutal truth behind the massive annual attrition rate in strongman. When you go out to dinner with a big group, are you obligated to split the bill evenly—or should you only pay for what you actually ordered? And at what point does refusing to split the check make you look cheap? That's the debate kicking off this episode of The Treehouse Show.Trey recently went to a birthday dinner with a large group and asked the server to put him on a separate tab. Why? The rest of the table was ordering bottles of wine, cocktails, and beer, while Trey wasn't drinking. He still contributed toward the birthday person's dinner and drinks, paid for everything he ordered himself, and tipped his server 40%.Seems fair, right? Apparently not to everyone at the table. So where's the line? If one person orders a $20 meal while everyone else is ordering expensive drinks, appetizers, and entrées, should the entire bill still be divided evenly? Is asking for a separate check perfectly reasonable—or does it make you the cheap friend? After settling absolutely nothing in that debate, we move on to Celebrity Birthdays, which somehow leads to a conversation about rehab, reports about Brad Pitt drinking again, and whether some TV shows noticeably changed their writing and messaging after COVID.Then things get appropriately weird. We cover the story of a homeless man who allegedly managed to sneak onto a JetBlue flight, and we have an update on a story that refuses to go away: the man who says he has the world's smallest penis.Dinner etiquette, drinking, celebrities, airline security, questionable decisions, and penis news. Just another perfectly normal episode of The Treehouse Show.About the show:Leave your worries outside and join Dan O'Malley, Trey Trenholm, and their hilarious guests for laughs about funny news and viral stories with ridiculous commentary inside the Treehouse Show.

Lateral extra-articular procedures (LEAPs) have evolved from a controversial adjunct to ACL reconstruction into an increasingly evidence-supported tool for managing rotational instability and reducing graft failure in appropriately selected patients. In this episode of The Sports Docs Podcast, Drs. Henry Ellis and Bonnie Gregory join us live from the AOSSM Annual Meeting to discuss where lateral augmentation fits in modern ACL management. They explore the evidence behind lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET), patient selection and indications, potential complications, LET versus anterolateral ligament reconstruction (ALLR), surgical technique, fixation strategies, and rehabilitation considerations. The conversation also highlights the Arthrex Knee FiberTak system, including how an all-suture anchor platform may address some of the limitations of traditional LET fixation.Key Topics DiscussedWhy add a lateral augmentation procedure to ACL reconstruction?Evidence demonstrating reduced ACL graft rupture and improved rotational stabilityThe role of LEAP in high-risk primary ACL reconstruction and revision ACL surgeryImpact on return to sport and pre-injury level of playEmerging evidence supporting the cost-effectiveness of LETUnderstanding the potential downsidesLateral-sided pain and hardware irritationHematoma and need for hardware removalEarly quadriceps weaknessConcerns regarding over-constraint and long-term degenerative changesWhether adding a lateral procedure meaningfully changes postoperative recoveryWho actually needs a LEAP?Young, active athletesHigh-grade pivot shift or anterior laxityKnee hyperextensionRevision ACL reconstructionAthletes returning to pivoting sportsHamstring autograft ACL reconstructionMultiple coexisting risk factorsChronic ACL deficiency and other emerging indicationsLEAP in elite athletesHow professional team physicians are approaching lateral augmentationCurrent practice patterns in elite and professional sportsThe balance between maximizing graft survivorship and avoiding unnecessary proceduresLET versus ALL reconstructionDifferences in surgical approachClinical outcomes and graft failureRotational stabilityOperative time, cost, and potential complicationsWhy surgeons may favor one technique over the otherModern LET surgical techniqueGraft harvest and preparationRelationship of the graft to the LCLFemoral fixationKnee position during fixationGraft orientation and isometryAvoiding over-constraintImportance of anatomic attachment sitesManagement of the IT band at the conclusion of the procedureSpotlight: Arthrex Knee FiberTakThe episode takes a closer look at the Knee FiberTak platform and its application in lateral augmentation. The guests discuss how an all-suture anchor platform may offer advantages compared with traditional fixation methods, including:Reduced hardware prominenceBone preservationPotentially decreased risk of tunnel convergenceLow-profile fixationErgonomic instrumentation designed specifically for the kneeMultiple fixation configurations for different surgical applicationsThe Knee FiberTak family includes:Double-Knotless AnchorDouble-Knotted AnchorHybrid AnchorInternalBrace AnchorKnee FiberTak ButtonThe discussion explores how surgeons select between different configurations and how a versatile fixation platform can improve efficiency and adaptability in the operating room.Rehab & Return to SportThe episode concludes with a practical discussion of rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction with lateral augmentation. While the addition of a LEAP generally does not dramatically alter standard postoperative restrictions, the guests emphasize several priorities:Regaining full knee extensionRestoring quadriceps strength and activationMonitoring early quadriceps recoveryMaintaining appropriate progression through rehabilitationPreparing the athlete for a safe and successful return to sportSummaryLEAPs are no longer simply a historical technique being revisited. Contemporary evidence suggests that appropriately selected patients—particularly young, high-risk athletes, patients with significant rotational instability, revision ACL cases, and athletes returning to pivoting sports—may benefit from lateral augmentation as part of a comprehensive ACL reconstruction strategy. The challenge for modern sports surgeons is determining who truly benefits, which technique is most appropriate, and how to perform the procedure without introducing unnecessary morbidity or over-constraint.DisclaimerThis episode is sponsored by Arthrex. Hello & Welcome to the Podcast! In today's solo episode, I want to explore how asking better questions can lead to better outcomes for women dealing with GSM, via a COLLABORATIVE approach - let's jump in!In the episode I'll discuss why GSM is more than just dryness, why tissue health is super important but..it doesn't function in a vacuum because healthy tissues don't necessarily lead to healthy movementSo what can pelvic rehab offer here? We need to move beyond a focus on keeping women dry, and move to emphasising keeping women MOVING!The goals are to Live, Flourish & THRIVE!I outline my clinical framework focusing on four key areas: healthy tissues, healthy function, healthy movement, and helping women achieve their life goals; I'm arguing that success should be measured by more than just symptom relief but by women's ability to participate fully in life. I want to encourage healthcare professionals to shift from asking which intervention is best to asking which combination will give women the best chance of thriving, and I want to stress the need for collaboration between different medical specialties rather than competition.I'm talking about plans to teach women healthier pelvic floor muscle training, emphasizing the importance of a bespoke approach tailored to each individual rather than using the term "Kegels." I outlined a comprehensive program that extends beyond just pelvic floor muscles to include breathing, pressure management, hip mobility, glute strength, and various other physical components. The goal is to help women regain confidence in their bodies through a holistic approach that addresses their specific goals and activities - and how we can put this bespoke approach together for the women we serve. And yes...there's some homework for you to think about - considering Capacity before Complexity! What do you think - can we think about a 'philosophy' rather than a treatment plan? Let me know what you think! And if you want to learn more...my online course, Flourish, The Menopause & Hysterectomy is available at CelebrateMuliebrity.com. Questions? Everybody comparing the Lindsay Clancy trial to the Nick Reiner case is comparing two people who spent years moving in opposite directions.Reiner's history, by his own public account, is one of leaving. Rehab from around age fifteen. Roughly seventeen stays by twenty-two per his 2015 People interview, some eighteen per The Hollywood Reporter. He told the LA Times he'd refuse to go or would walk out and live on the street.Clancy's history is one of asking. A postpartum program in late December of 2022 that, according to her lawsuit, noted her symptoms might be medication-driven, told her to taper the antipsychotic, and sent her home after a single day. A psychiatric hospital on New Year's Eve. A last appointment with her psychiatrist that ran seventeen minutes. And there's a piece of the Reiner story almost nobody has picked up. Records reported by Fox affiliates show a yearlong conservatorship that expired in 2021. Nobody revoked it and nobody litigated it. When it lapsed, a man whose records reportedly include a schizophrenia diagnosis went back to two people in their seventies.Tony Brueski lays out why these are two entirely different failures, why fixing one does nothing for the other, and why the phrase everybody uses for both is the reason neither gets addressed. Four years after that order lapsed, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner were dead in their Brentwood home and their son was in custody by nine fifteen that night. On the other coast, Lindsay Clancy's last appointment with her psychiatrist ran seventeen minutes, on January 23, 2023, according to her lawsuit. The following day is when her lawyers say she heard a voice. Two failures, no overlap, and no single reform that touches both.END LINKSJoin Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
